| Okay, this might seem a little weird, but it's starting to drive me insane. You know, how when you click on a story, it's supposed to get highlighted and all?? Well, on my computer it's stopped doing that, and it's driving me insane. I can't keep track of the stories that I've read. Does anyone know what I can do to get it back.

| Check in your brouser preferances. It's more likely that it has been reset on your computer than on the board, espically if you've recently updated some softwear or had a mini power surge.
Hope that helps

| Check to see how long your computer store's cookies.
If your cookies erase, then so do all those nifty little highlights.

| Go to your control panel, click on internet properties, and you can use the tabs to navigate from there to check how long your history stays, and to see if your cookies are gone.

| Hmmm. . . well, I can see how long my history stays there. It was 200 days, but I changed it to 300 days. And I still don't know how to check on the cookies. But it's still the same. Nothing is getting highlighted.

| Uh, hmm. What brouser are you using? Maybe I can tell you exactly what to look for.

| What browser???? Um, I'm not too knowlegeable about the computer lingo. What exactly is that?? {Could I sound more like an airhead?} Well, I went into Tools, and went to Internet Options at the end of the list. There are six tabs in that; General, Security, Content, Connections, Programs, Advanced.

| When you first open the Internet Properties icon, look for the button on the first tab that says SETTINGS. It should be under a subtitle of "Temporary Internet Properties". Then click on view files, and you can see your cookies.
Some people have their internet properties set to erase cookies when their computer is turned off. Some people keep their computers on all the time, but if you turn your off, maybe yours somehow got changed?
Let me ask you this-do you have your options on any website set so that it automatically logs you in when you go to the website?

My computer isn't left on all of the time. And my computer doesn't automatically log me in anywhere. I went into the view files and I just deleted all of it. I don't know if I should have done that or not, but I did. But isn't working.

| Check this, then.
Go the control panel, Internet properties, and click on the last tab. It should say advance, or advanced.
Scroll down in the advanced tab until you get to the security list....there should be an option there about whether or not you want your browser to erase cookies when it shuts down. Make sure that box IS NOT checked. IF it is, then your cookies are getting erased everytime you turn off your computer, which could explain why your nifty higlights are gone.

There's one called Empty Temporary Interent files when browser is closed. But that was already unchecked.

| Hmm. . . something weird happened. We have both Internet Explorer and Netscape on our computer. We usually use IE. But when we went into Netscape, the thing was working just fine. Highlighting the things I went into. Weird, huh???
