Re: How was your day/week/weekend?

It's so sad what happened to all of those kids, and I really hope this forces the US government to finally tighten gun laws :(. I saw on the UK news last night about the NRA's response that 'the solution to bad guys with guns is good guys with guns' and that they think that there should be armed gua...

Re: Olympics: Anyone else addicted?

I also just have to mention, I watched the Uneven Bars finals in gymastics last night and was AMAZED at what Great Britain's Elizabeth Tweddle did. I have never seen anything like that before! And before these games, I had never heard of her. So glad she was able to get out there and represent for ...

Re: Olympics: Anyone else addicted?

How about the fact that during the opening ceremony, NBC showed a Ryan Seacrest interview with Michael Phelps instead of the moving tribute to the London terrorist attacks of July 7th 2005 (the day after London got the Olympics)? Are you serious? I thought it was kind of weird that they just broke ...

Re: Olympics: Anyone else addicted?

Spoilers ahead: Don't read if you haven't watched. American broadcasting's bias towards Michael Phelps makes me kind of sick. How about the fact that during the opening ceremony, NBC showed a Ryan Seacrest interview with Michael Phelps instead of the moving tribute to the London terrorist attacks o...

Re: Celebrity deaths

I'm not sure it was Lung Cancer Killjoy, that's what killed Donna Summer. I read online Robin Gibb had a long battle with problems with his Intestines, his twin brother died in 2003 from some sort of Intestinal Cancer. They have a family history of Gastrontestinal (sp) issues. Such a sad loss. :( M...

Re: Is It Just Me . . .

Since I posted my reply above (1.5 years ago!), I've completely stopped reading Twilight fanfic (and am not really reading much Roswell fic anymore), but have briefly flirted with reading Vampire Diaries fic and my latest obsession is with Supernatural fanfic (and I've written some as well now too) ...

Re: Ringer

I think a second season is still on the bubble. From what I've read online, it seems that Ringer is considered pretty likely to be cancelled :(. The last article I read reckoned that two of the following shows would be cancelled: Ringer, Nikita, Hart of Dixie (with Ringer having the lowest odds of ...

Re: Pulling fanfics from the internet - your opinions?

Would I publish one of my fanfics as original work? Absolutely. I've gone through the whole process and the words are there, even if I first publish it as fanfiction. I would need to rework the background in a canon fic, but if my story is already there and works on its own, I don't see why not. It...

Re: Pulling fanfics from the internet - your opinions?

Heh, seems the book is really taking off... http://shine.yahoo.com/love-sex/mommy-porn-naughty-e-book-series-hit-playground-184100515.html No wonder it was a fanfiction hit... Yeah... I think one of the reasons why this is bugging me so much is that the Twilight fanfics being pulled from the intern...

Re: Pulling fanfics from the internet - your opinions?

Yeah, at the end of the day, I don't have a major problem with taking something that was originally a fanfic and completely reworking it with new characters, new settings, different plot details etc. and then publishing it in the real world without associating the work with fanfiction (essentially ...
