I always wondered why none of them ever thought about doing more about Alex's death when they did a lot for everyone else. Like why not try the healing stones on Alex...either? Something that always bothered me was at the Summit, Max told Nicholas and the others that he wouldn't take Khivar's deal because he wouldn't give up the granolith.
