Like why not try the healing stones on Alex...either? Or at least try everything before accepting his death.

Well I get the impression Alex was already long dead before they even got to him, so I don't think it would have made a difference. And as far as I remember they only ever used the healing stones on the aliens (Michael and Nacedo), so I doubt it would have done anything on a human.

Oh I doubt the healing stones would have saved Alex. There really isn't a stitch of belief inside of me that thinks the healing stones could have ever brought back Alex or that even if some how they could use the granolith to change things...that it would have made a difference.

I'm not questioning the power or validity of what the healing stones could and could not do. But more...why it was never even a thought that occurred to any of them. I think...Alex was meant to die at the point and I don't' think anything would have changed it...but I still question why none of them thought about the healing stones, the granolith, taking him to river dog...anything more than what they did do.

As irrational as it, I think if I lived in a universe where someone has healing powers, their are healing stones, there is a potential for time travel...I'm going to at least try it all...just so that I have peace of mind that I tried everything I could and nothing saved him. But I tried and I didn't leave it up to chance and didn't leave out that possibility or chance of something more.

Its more about the trying and getting that closure of "you've done everything you can." - that is what i"m talking about.

I mean...you want stop the end of the world...and you believe time travel can stop it and change events...Why not at least try the healing stones regardless of how irrational it may seem. I'm not saying that any of them should've actively seeked out ways to bring Alex back...but for the tools they did have at that time...use 'em.

Death...though can effect people in different ways. So...for that I understand. If it was me, and I lived in the Roswell universe...and I had a inkling that my best bud died due to an evil alien...you bet, I'd try to find a evil alien machine gun and rip bullets into the hearts...

er...video games really are bad for you.

Michael Speech.

Authors that deliberately modify Michael's way of talking to be a certain way... but it comes off as him sound dumb.

Like: "How was you doing that?" or "Did he been here?"

This is a deliberate modification that I'm talking about, but it makes me cringe.

I honestly don't think canon Michael would ever talk like this, in fact, his vocabulary on the show was pretty colorful and beneath everything, you could tell that he had a way with words - probably the best next to LIz with her SAT words and Maria with her pop culture references.

The above post really has me thinking. You're right. I mean, this young man quoted, Ulysses, for goodness sake! That has to say something! I think he is much more intelligent than some people give him credit as being. Ugh, Mr. Seligman!
I haven't read the rest of these but here's one I'll add: how did they manage to get their homework done?? I worked a part time job, was in extra-curricular activities, had chores at home and had TONS of homework...I barely slept senior year! How did they get passing grades while evading the FBI and destroying an evil alien race?
Honestly, we need to elect these kids to run the country. We'd be so much more efficient!
SW
p.s. another thing that made me want to bang my head against anything: whatever glitch took this board done for a zillion days!!! Welcome back to Fanatics, folks!!
I want an Alien Blast! <3

I agree. Michael wasn't stupid at all. He wasn't motivated, but if he wanted, he could be good student like Liz or Max. He just didn't see point at this. Maybe he was making plans returning to Antar and didn't think that the education will serve him there. Who knows?

There are a lot of things that might have been better.
1. Destiny episode and the whole royal four crap - too soapy for me. It was a desperate way for creating angst. There are other ways to accomplish this.

2. Tess was underused. Now, although I am hard core dreamer, I liked her till the killing of Alex. She was introduced the wrong way though. First, she was supposed to tell them about their past. All she did was to tell them how she and Max should be together. She was kind of obsessed  . In the end she didn't tell them anything and Alex was the one that decoded the book. She is supposed to feel Max's emotions and yet Liz was better at that. They should have been explored her a lot more than that.

3. I personally have no problem with Max sleeping with Tess. He had the right to move on and to check the alien sex  . The pregnancy though was kind of weird, but I could accept it. The whole baby search in Season 3 and then Max giving him for adoption was kind of stupid. You don't search your kid one year, so that you can say Goodbye to him forever days after you have found him.

4. Kivar - he was the ultimate bad ass and he was only obsessed in Isabel. Seriously? He had the opportunity to kill Max and Michael, but he didn't do it, because he only wanted his Lonnie. Wow, I guess the writers watched too many soap operas.

There were too many interesting plots that were dropped. I wanted them to explore more the Dupes, the Skins, the alien donors. I also liked a lot Ava and wanted her to join the Roswell gang(if they get rid of Tess).

Well I sometimes think Michael liked to play up the dumb act some.I think he believed that if others saw him as a 'dumb' street kid only good for fighting than they would under estimate him. i don't think he even really wanted to show people how smart he really was....I think he thought it was bad for his 'tough' guy image :P

That plot actually made sense to me (even though I hated the whole thing). Zan was Antar with a mother who wasn't above murdering innocent people to get her own way and who was planning to hand the baby over to Max's enemy who would have done who knows what with him. Max had to rescue the baby. But once he had the baby, Max had to give him up. Zan was 100% human (I don't believe that would have been the case but I guess we have to accept it as truth), the FBI and the army were after Max and his friends. Keeping Zan would have put him in danger. Giving him for adoption meant that Zan got to have a safe, happy life and wouldn't be on the run like Max and the others. It wasn't like Max gave him back, or didn't want him after he'd got him. He rescued Zan from a terrible situation and put him in a far better one, so for me, the resolution to that plot made perfect sense.
