Roswell and the Counting Crows

Like many here (I'm sure), I became interested in the Counting Crows because of Roswell. And all these years later, I still listen to them and it still brings me right back to Blind Date. Poor Max! IIRC, the Counting Crows actually came from the Roswell High series (I'd have to do some digging to figure out which book they're mentioned in first, but I believe that it's Isabel that says something to Liz about it, similar to the show). I'm wondering if Metz was a CC fan and if that had anything to do with how some of her characters were named. There are quite a few songs that mention "Elisabeth" and Round Here and Mr. Jones both mention a "Maria". Random musings for 3 in the morning, but interesting none-the-less! Any thoughts?
