Two soulmates who are separated from fate. Out of place and time. :)
That book also reminded me of them.

And "Kabale und Liebe" (literally it´s "intrigue and love") by Goethe.I just don´t know the english title or where to find it.The story sort of reminded me of "The end of the world".It´s about a girl in love with the son of a president and the girl has to make her boyfriend fall out of love with her, because he is supposed to marry someone else (who btw reminds me very much of Tess). The difference is that Max didn´t believe what he saw in EOTW and the son of the president believed it until it was too late. The end is tragic. There are some similarities to "Romeo and Juliet", I think the author was inspired by Shakespeare or something.

And of course "Romeo and Juliet".

"Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer

It's a story about love.. and vampires. ^^
It remind me Max & Liz very much, especially Edward Cullen, the vampire that fell in love with Bella and saved her life putting himself in danger for her.. another forbidden love about a human girl and a not really human boy.

Bella and Liz are different in many points (she's a mix of Liz and Maria) but between Max and Edward i find many things in common especially if you read Roswell High Original Books. (and not only cuz in the books Max is a blondie with light blue eyes that can kill you  ) At the beginning both of them tried to stay away from her in order to protect her. the whole "you don't have to like me or even be my friend cuz i can hurt you and i don't want to" thing, their way to love Liz and Bella and protect them, their sweetness, how they seduce without knowing it... how they keep on staring at her, the fact that they saved her life exposing their self. they're even lab partners too!

also how both Liz and Bella accepted Max and Edward for who they're from the start, no matter if they're "different" and with them life will never be normal and always safe.

"I may not be human but i'm a man"

"Bella, I couldn't live with myself if i ever hurt you. You don't know how its tortured me"

Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman
Callum being like Max beacuse he loves Sephy buts knows that they can never be together.
Noughts and Crosses really reminded me of Roswell, two people love eachother but cant be together for various reasons.

I agree if you have not read the Twilight series by S. Meyer it is deffinetly worth it. Amazing actually. Very similar to Roswell characters and once you start reading it will be impossibleto stop until alllll four books are done :D . I did not think I would enjoy the Twilight series and was glad I went out on a lim and bought all four at one time, or it would have drove me nuts until I got the other books. If your have not read them, do it! lol...and let me know what you thought :D

The Ark, the Reed, and the Fire Cloud (The Amazing Tales of Max and Liz, Book One) (Paperback)
by Jenny L. Cote (Author)

Wit, Whimsy, Heartache, Tragedy, Triumph and Biblical Truth A magical adventure of animals traveling worldwide to Noah's ark
Max, a Scottish terrier, takes his usual morning trot down to the loch where he hears a mysterious Voice humming in the reeds saying, "COME TO ME . . .
FOLLOW THE FIRE CLOUD." He embarks on an unknown journey from Scotland, meeting other animals along the way including Liz, a brilliant, petite black cat from France. Max and Liz become the brave leaders for their group, and eventually, for the entire ark. The mysterious journey, filled with danger, humor, trials, and triumphs, leads them across Europe to the Middle East.

The moment of arrival for these animals is spectacular as the ark is miraculously transformed into the animals' natural habitats.
Throughout the prior one hundred years, Noah and family have to endure ridicule from villagers while building the ark. Now this family must painfully witness the loss of lives and total destruction of the earth through the mighty flood.
After the journey to the ark, the voyage in the ark begins. Liz finds ways to keep the animals occupied, including daily exercise led by the flamingos and talent night where the animals entertain each other with their natural abilities. BUT a sinister plot develops. Someone is out to kill Noah and his family. Liz follows clues that lead her to discover a stowaway who has deceived them all. Max and Liz foil the plot, but at a high price. The end climaxes with unexpected twists and turns, taking the reader from despair to hope.

+++
Max, a Scottish terrier, and Liz, a beautiful black cat, are called from their individual homes to lead an ever-growing group of animals to Noah's recently-finished Ark. Along the way are many obstacles that, with a little help from the Maker and his trail-blazing fire cloud, the slew of furry creatures successfully cross. But once they board the ark and settle in, a controversy starts to brew. Are the reclusive wolves causing all the chaos that is slowly severing the friendly ties between the animals and the humans? If not them, who could be responsible for such a task? It's up to the brave and intelligent pairing of Max and Liz to find out before it's too late.

Only "Max and Liz" can be the only dog and cat that are friends and not enemies  this is so cute *__*
