Okay, so everyone knows I'm obsessed with Lupe Fiasco's "Words I Never Said." I'm obssessed with the beginning, middle, and end of it, but particularly with the chorus, sung by Skylar Grey. Well, I finally stumbled across an entire recording she did of the song, and I'm officially in love with it.

Words I Never Said (Part 2) by Skylar Grey

After listening to this on repeat last night, I finally got inspired to overcome my writer's block! Yipee!

 Yeah, they are different. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Didn't know you were going through writer's block.

Happy to hear it's turning up.

It's been too long, but I'm sure once I get back into 522
there will be tons of surprises waiting for me.

Been under some stress for the past several months (both good and bad), and
I've finally had a chance to listen to some music to help alleviate some of it.

This is just a small sampling of the music that's helped me relax, and stay focused.

Here are two tracks, by the same artists, that have been helpful.

It may be different from what some of you are used to, but I really LOVE their musical style.

Hope you ENJOY!

Very cool, Helen! I feel so multicultural now.

Okay, so in order to keep myself inspired for my writing, I've been listening to H.I.M.'s "When Love and Death Embrace" a lot, which I've always considered to be pretty much the theme song of the fic I'm writing. Anyway, stumbled across this person's cover of it, which is pretty effing amazing.

When Love and Death Embrace (cover) by Lady Margoth

Seriously, when at long last I finish 522 and I see the closing credits rolling in my head, this is the background music for it. :)

 Music is universal. If you like what you hear, in a way, it belongs
to you, yes? :D (NOT in the copyright sense, of course.)

"When Love and Death Embrace" was one of the songs I wasn't really into, until your fic.

I swear, April, in my mind, that song is forever connected
to 522 now. I really enjoyed the cover version, by the way.

This lovely woman is just stunning.

I enjoy many of her songs, and I love her voice.

(NOTE: Hardcore Stargazers out there... who might really dislike Jesse Ramirez
... the actor who played him (Adam Rodriguez) is in the MV.

Just thought I'd give you a heads up. Just in case... )

One Song Everyday # 4 - ROUND 23! Philadelphia

Other than the music, it's dead quiet, in the middle of the night here, and I've
spent the last five hours getting some work done. Finally through with it.

Figured I come on here and post a song, before heading to bed.

Streets of Philadelphia by Bruce Springsteen

Ain't NO angel gonna greet me
It's just you and I my friend
And my clothes don't fit me NO more
I walk a thousand miles just to slip this skin

The night has fallen, I'm lying awake
I can feel myself fading away
So, receive me brother with your faithful kiss
Or we will leave each other alone like this
On the streets of Philadelphia

Here's another version I really enjoyed.

(Acoustic) by The Fray

p.s. If you have NOT seen the film (Philadelphia) I highly recommend it.

It will leave you feeling more human than you already do (NO pun intended )
and hopefully filled with compassion for your fellow Man and Woman-kind.

Plus, Colin Hanks' dad is in it.

A Roswell connection!

Ellie, I didn't see that movie, but that song was awesome and so intense! A really unique and addictive cover of a Zeppelin gem.

Oh, Helen, I agree about that movie. I haven't seen it in years, but I'm still incredibly moved by it. And that Springsteen song is just iconic. Hadn't heard The Fray's cover of it until now. Very cool.

Well, I'm in a mellow mood, and I'm currently rewatching One Tree Hill. I'm on Season 2, and this is one of the songs that popped out at me:

Sucker by Damien Jurado

I don't know where I would be in my life, musically, without that show.
