Don't know if there's such a thread going on ... so I though I'd start one.

It's Thanksgiving here in the states tomorrow. Just wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy turkey day.

I had plans to go over to my cousins house, but her daughter is sick - so it's looks like I'll be sticking close to home and getting ready for my very first outing on Black Friday. :?

Anyone else have plans for Thanksgiving?

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone :D!

As I'm in the UK, we don't have Thanksgiving, so tomorrow is just a normal day for us... my 'Thanksgiving' plans involve going to work and learning how to forecast surface winds tomorrow and how to forecast maximum daily temperatures on Friday :P!

Due to snow ice and unusual weather my plans for thanksgiving have been canceled so everyone who is having turkey tomorrow should eat some for me. :(

I wish we had something like Thanksgiving in Australia, those turkey roast dinners sound amazing!

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday is when shoppers all over the states run to the department stores, wallets with credit cards or cash on hand, to buy normally high priced items that for one day are marked down with savings up to 70% (in some stores).

It normally starts at 4 a.m. in the morning - this is when the stores open up - and lasts until mid-morning sometime (usually stores stop the discount pricing at 11 a.m.). So, some people wake up early and/or camp out at the store to be the first in line to buy what they need and head back home for some sleep.

I can't believe I let my sister in law and step mother talk me into this insanity. For somethings - ELECTRONICS! - I'm so weak willed

This sucks, I want turkey, and stuffing, and sweet potato pie, and sparkling cider, and mashed tatos.

Shockingly enough the snow cleared up the ice on the roads became slush and I was able to have a thanksgiving after all, which I'm incredibly thankful for. I'm thankful for my husband, my son, my family, and this year more than ever I'm thankfully that I have a totally amazing sister, and that our relationship is finally getting back to a good point.

I hope everyone's thanksgiving was as good as mine.
