I'm curious about the breakup with Max. Maybe Isabel can talk to Maria to explain the emotional damage a domestic violence victim suffers. Maria seems to be taking everything personally. She is not the only one that Liz has limit contact with.

Carolyn Why Liz won't leave has nothing to do with Max. Until the funraiser Liz hadn't seen him since before she got married. Serena isn't the only one on Liz's side.

RoswellFan68 Max and Liz broke up only because of going to college far apart. Liz in Texas and Max in Michigan. No one knows for sure that Liz is being abused. Serena suspects based on seeing a few buises on Liz. All anyone really knows is that Liz doesn't see her old friends or her family very much. They are only guessing based on her behavior.






Part 9

Liz drove through Roswell for the first time in a little over two years. She wasn't surprised that little had changed during that time. Not that she expected it to have. She parked in the small private parking lot next to her mom's car. Her mom had finally traded in her old Ford Escort for a Chevy Impala. Her dad was still driving his old GMC Jimmy that was missing. She headed to the back door as it opened to reveal Michael bringing out some trash. He saw her tossed the last bag in the dumpster and headed over to her.

“Been a long time Liz.” Said Michael
“Yeah I know. Sorry I missed the wedding.”
“Maria is still pissed.”
“I figured.”
“Let me help you with your bag.”
“Sure. Though I have to say this is a change. You were never a gentleman like this in high school.”
“People change.”
“Yeah they do.”
“Liz, if this guy is hurting you like I think he is then you need to leave him.”
“Michael there are things you don't know about going on.”
“Liz, you know my history with Hank. Hell you are the one that told Valenti. Go to him. He will help you get away.”
“I can't Michael.”
“Liz, I fear the next time I see you after you leave will be at your funeral.”
“I wish I could tell you. But I can't.”
“I don't like it. But I will not push you. But remember no matter what happens with you and Maria, I will be here for you.”
“Thank you Michael.”

The two of them headed up to the Parker’s apartment. Liz knocked on the door. It opened and Liz was pulled into a hug by her mother. Liz bit back a wince at how tight she was hugged. Nancy noticed her daughter stiffen in her arms. She glanced at Michael and saw the grim look in his eyes.

“Oh Liz it's good to have you home! Michael, you remember where her old bedroom is right?” said Nancy
“Yes Mrs. Parker. I will take her bag there then get back to work.” Said Michael

Nancy led Liz over to the couch and they sat down.

“It is really good to see you honey.” Said Nancy
“You too mom. Where is dad?”
“You remember your cousin Caitlin right?”
“Uncle Steve and Aunt Lucy's daughter. She is what fourteen now?”
“Yes. Liz, your Aunt and Uncle were killed by a drunk driver two days ago. Caitlin is going to be staying with us until she goes to college.”
“Dad went to get her from Alberquerque?”
“Yes. They should be here in a few hours.”
“Mom, if you need me to I can go stay at a motel so Cait can have my old room.”
“Elizabeth Parker! You will not go to a motel do I make myself clear?”
“Yes mom.”
“Besides Cait wants you to here. Liz, Cait has always looked up to you.”
“Mom, I am not a role model. My life is screwed up right now.”
“Liz, don't try to lie to me. Is that bastard abusing you?”
“Mom, I don't want to talk about James.”
“Honey, you need to think about yourself. Your father and I raised you to be a confident and independent woman. If James is treating you badly you need to end things with him.”
“Mom, it's not that simple. There are things going on that you don't know about and I can't tell you. But as soon as I can I will tell you I promise. I just need you to trust me that I know what I am doing.”
“I just hate seeing like this. You are and always will be my little girl. I love you.”
“I love you too mom.”

Jim Valenti had been a cop his whole adult life. He was not sure what to think of the FBI agent sitting across the desk from him. The woman was asking him to keep an eye on one of his best friend's daughter while she was in town visiting her family.

“Agent Tolposki, are you going to tell me why Liz Parker needs protection?” asked Valenti

“Sheriff, Liz is our informant on an investigation that involves her husband and father in law. I can't give you details but I have reason to believe her life could be in danger.” Said Agent Kathleen Tolposki
“Why isn't Liz in protective custody?”
“Charges haven't been filed yet. But I will tell you that what Liz is doing may help save a lot of lives.”
“At risk of her own! You have no right to ask her to do this!”
“She didn't Sheriff. I went to them.”

Both looked to see Liz standing in the office doorway.

“We need to tell him everything Kathleen.” Said Liz
“Liz, it is too dangerous.”
“He has a right to know. Kathleen, you are asking him to watch out for me while I am in town. He needs to know what I am doing.” Said Liz
“Fine we will tell him.” Said Tolposki

Toyally agree with RoswellFan68. Maybe if Jim Knows what is going on with Liz and the FBI he will be able to protect Liz better while she is in Roswell. Hopefully James, his father and others will all go away to prison very soon and Liz will be free from him forever. Hopefully Liz's family and friends will understand what Liz is doing. Part 10

Liz walked back into her parents apartment after filling in the Sheriff about her involvement with the FBI. To say her father's best friend was in shock was an understatement. Liz was shocked when she came across the papers she had six months after her marriage. She carefully dug deeper and knew she had to turn to the FBI with what she learned. She met with two agents. Kathleen Tolposki and Suzanne Duff. Liz agreed to keep feeding information as much as she could. What she had found out about her husband and his father made her sick. She knew what she was doing could get her killed but she didn't care. She cared about the innocent lives that were in danger. She smiled sadly at her teenage cousin who was sitting on the couch with her legs pulled to her chest. Liz walked over to her and hugged her.

“Lizzie?”
“Yeah Caity it's me.” Said Liz
“My parents are dead.” Said Caitlin
“I know. Mom and dad are going to take care of you. You won't be alone I promise.”
“You will be around right?”

Liz sighed. She knew that she had to tell the truth.

“As much as I can. But I live in Ft. Worth. I have a lot of things to take care of there. But I promise I will come and visit as much as possible.” Said Liz
“Can I visit you there?”
“I don't know. Maybe.”
“Liz, is everything ok?”
“Don't worry about me Caity. I am going to be ok.”

Liz sighed at the look her young cousin gave her. But there was no way that she was going to tell Caitlin what she was doing. But it was something that she had to do. Too many lives were at stake if she didn't do this.

Serena placed her tray down across from Max and sat down.

“Max, I am really worried about Liz.” Said Serena
“Didn't you say that your brother is out of town?”
“Yeah but that doesn't mean anything.”
“Rena, we can't help Liz if she doesn't want help.”
“I know that! I am scared that by the time Liz asks for help it will be to late.”
“One thing that you got to remember if Liz wants to stay with James you can't force her to get help.”
“I know. It's just Liz is my best friend.”
“Rena, Liz must have a reason for staying with your brother. The Liz, I grew up with and fell in love with would never let anyone treat her like you say she is being treated.”
“How do you know?”
“Back in high school Liz went out with this jerk before me. This jerk was the cousin of her best friend Maria. Sean said and did all the right things at first. He was a couple years older. He wanted to move their relationship to a place she wasn't ready for.”
“Meaning he wanted sex.”
“Yeah. He was seventeen at the time, Liz had just turned fifteen. When she told him no. He got mad and hit her and called her a tease.”
“What an ass!”
“The worse part is he left her at Buckley Point, the local make out spot with no way home but to walk. Her curfew was ten and it was nine. Buckley Point was about ten miles outside of the center of town where Liz lived. She got lucky and the Sheriff found her and drove her home. Her mom and I are the only ones that knew about Sean hitting her.”
“Kyle's dad most likely knew.”
“Yeah. But he never said anything.”
“Max, I love Liz and hate seeing her like this. You don't know everything about what he has done to Liz. She was pregnant a couple years ago, he pushed her down the stairs and she miscarried.”
“Rena, you need to let Liz come to you when she is ready.”
“I just hope that it won't be too late.”

Max sighed not wanting to let Serena in on how worried he really was about Liz.

James Steven Bower the third took a long drink of his bourbon as the private plane he was on headed closer to it's destination in the middle east. It was not heading to Egypt as he told his wife but rather Iran. He had some meetings with some men to deliver money. These groups were listed as nonprofits. But James 3 knew better. They were fronts for terrorists. His father knew what these men were and had no problem funding them. His father was sick of the government telling him how to run their oil company. Not that James 3 didn't agree. He put down his glass when the high priced hooker his father hired came into the main cabin dressed in next to nothing. She sheltered over to him and reached for his belt. He dropped his pants and removed her panties. She put a condom on his rock hard dick and then impaled herself on him. He grunted as she moved up and down his shaft. He maybe married but that didn't mean he didn't enjoy the hookers his father sent with him on these type of trips. Great Chapter! Finally Jim knows what Liz is doing. So glad that Liz turned all the stuff she found out about her husband James and father in law to the FBI. Hopefully James and his father will be going to prison for a very very long time. Liz is very brave to help the FBI just hoping nothing serious is going to happen to Liz while she is getting the information for the FBI. Feel so sorry for Liz's cousin Caity for losing her family like she did. But so very glad that Caity has Liz parents. So glad that Liz can be there for Caity before she has to leave. Very happy that Serena told Max about what has been happening with Liz and James. Now Max is becoming more worried about Liz with everything Serena is telling him. Hopefully Serena and Max will try and talk to Liz before James comes back. Wondering if Liz will be able to keep her family and friends safe from James and his father. James and his father need to get caught in the act of dealing with Iran so they can go to prison for a very very long time.
Will Liz talk to Alex and Maria before she leaves? What will Liz say to Alex and Maria? Will Alex and Maria believe Liz or not? Will Liz talk to Serena and Max? What will Liz say to Serena and Max? Will Max aand Serena believe Liz? Will someone save Liz from her husband and father in law? Will Max be the one to save Liz? How will the person save Liz? Will Max and Liz get baack together? Will Max and Liz have a happy ending together? Sorry for all the questions I was just wondering.

Carolyn Liz is very brave to be helping the FBI. Liz really wants to be there for Caity. But knows it is safer for her cousin if she keeps her distance until her husband and father in law are dealt with. Oh I think it's a safe bet that there is someone keeping an eye on things in Iran.

Part 11

Liz sat at the counter of the Crashdown drinking a milkshake. It had been a while since she had one. Heck it had been a while since she had a good greasy burger. James didn't like burgers, or pizza or anything that he called it low class. She raised an eyebrow when a bacon double cheese burger and fries was placed in front of her.

“Medium rare, just the way you like it.” Said Michael
“Thanks.”
“Liz, you know I am worried about you.”
“I know. Michael, you have a good reason to be. I know I should leave James. But, I can't right now. I have a good reason for staying.”
“Liz, you got a lot of people that love you. Maria may be pissed at you but deep down she loves you.”
“Don't you think I know that? Michael, I hate the way James treats me. I hate that I am locked away from those I love like a bird in a gilded cage.”
“Then leave the bastard! Look I have met Serena and she is cool. But James is like Hank. Just an asshole.”
“Michael, James and his father are far worse than Hank. I can't tell you why but I have to stay a little longer. If I don't something really bad could happen.”
“Worse than you being beaten to death?”

Liz grabbed her burger and headed out of the Crashdown and up to her parents apartment. Michael sighed wondering what could be so important that Liz would endanger her life like this.

Serena smiled when Kyle walked into the apartment they shared still dressed in his uniform. She kissed him walked over to the refrigerator and pulled out two beers. She handed one to Kyle while opening the other for herself. She took a drink and followed Kyle to the living room couch.

“Bad day Kyle?”
“Yeah. Had to arrest a guy that was beating on his wife and kids. But I did talk to my dad. Liz made it to Roswell safely.”
“Well at least that is some good news. I wish she would just leave my jackass brother.”

Yeah if I could tell you want my dad told me about Liz, you would understand better why she is still with that worthless piece of shit.

“Rena, sometimes people have reasons for doing things. I am sure Liz has a good reason for staying with James.”
“Kyle, there is no reason for her to stay with James!”
“Damn it Serena! My dad found out why Liz won't leave your brother yet. She is staying for a good reason. She is willing to risk her life to do some real good. I can't tell you her reason but if you did know you would be proud of her.”
“Kyle, staying with James is going to get her killed!”
“Unfortunately that maybe the case. But there is nothing we can do about it.”
“I know. I am sorry I got upset it's just I don't want anything bad to happen to Liz.”
“I know babe. I care about Liz too.”

Kyle kissed Serena. She returned it passionately. Before long they headed to their bedroom and began to make love. Serena moaned as Kyle began to thrust into her. She had never felt as good as she did with Kyle. She had dated a lot back in high school. In fact she had been only fourteen when she had sex the first time. She had a lot of issues as a teenager. Her mother was never there for her and her father only cared about making money and her brother. She had fallen in with a bad group of kids. They drank, used drugs and had sex. She had gone to a party where she lost her virginity to a guy she didn't even remember the name of. It was after she had nearly been killed in a car accident at seventeen she got her life together. She went to college and got a degree in nursing. It wasn't until she met Kyle that she even thought about having sex again. He knew about her past and still loved her. They climaxed together and Serena curled up in Kyle's arms. She laid facing him watching him trace the tattoo on her breast. She had been fifteen when she got it. Technically she couldn't get a tattoo that young. But if you gave some of these tattoo artists enough money they would look the other way when it came to age. Even during her wild years Serena never got so drunk that she blacked out or became an alcoholic. Though she did at one point nearly become addicted to oxycodone. She had even smoked both cigarettes and pot of a while. The guy she was seeing when she was in the accident had been addicted to methamphetamine. The night of the accident he had been both drunk and high. He wrapped the car a telephone pole, he hadn't been wearing a seatbelt and he was killed on impact. Serena had ended up in a coma for nearly a month. That had been the last time she partied like that.

“You doing ok Rena?”
“Yeah. Kyle, my father and brother are into something really bad aren't they?”
“Yes. I can't tell you any more.”
“I understand. Kyle if you can keep Liz safe.”
“You know I will. I care about her too you know.”

Serena kissed Kyle and they fell to sleep.
