Summary: Two years after graduation the gang is still on the run. With Michael's dreams they have a new lead to find past connections. When they finally meet up with old friends and family will it be too late to finally stop the end of the world?

Part 1
*~* Somewhere in Iowa*~*

Michael shot up from the dream. Glancing at the clock at the nightstand of the most recent hotel he saw that it was 1 am. Now alert with no hopes of getting back to sleep anytime soon, he slipped out of bed praying not to disturb Maria. He changed quickly and set off outside to relieve Kyle from guard since he was now awake he figured at least somebody should be able to get some rest while they were off the road for the time being.

Kyle turned with his hand raised at the sound of the door shutting. Seeing Michael he raised an eyebrow and asked, “The dream?”

Getting only a grunt from Michael Kyle responded, “That’s what? The third time this week?”

Michael never having been a morning person merely nodded to Kyle’s questioning. “Do you want to…”

Stopping him before he could finish the question Michael responded, “No Kyle, I don’t want to talk about it. Go get some sleep I’m awake and not getting back to bed soon so you might as well rest up for tomorrow, we’re hitting the road again.”

Kyle groaned, nodded his head in thanks and shuffled off to his room that he had to share with Isabel.

After doing a quick perimeter check, Michael settled back to where Kyle was resting and turned to his turbulent thoughts.

They had been on the road two years now. Doing good deeds and avoiding the law! Ha. What a joke that was. They spend more time in the new SUV driving from town to town than anything else. Helpless people were few and far between for the six of them. The only thing that kept him going besides his need to protect his family were the dreams.

For the past year and a half, they’ve been haunting him. No haunting is the wrong word. Sure it was creepy that he couldn’t remember a damn thing once he woke up, but he felt the connection. It was leading him and the rest of them somewhere important.

Over the past year Liz noticed the variation of dreams. The amount of times he had them a week depended on where in the country they where. They were now in Iowa which proved little miss scientist’s theory.

They were the strongest and most frequent in the Midwest. But what the hell did that mean!! It was frustrated to no end not to be able to figure it out especially after a whole year and a half.

Isabel tried with her powers to see what they were about, but the group could never predict when he would be hit with a dream. Even Liz would try to get a premonition of something from him, but no luck there either.

For some reason Michael felt the time was running out. He wasn’t sure what kind of time though. Was the time to figure out the dream running out, or were they running out of time to just run and hide in plan sight. Was the time coming when Khivar would send his evil army of skins loose on them or were the FBI finally catching up with them?

Michael let out a frustrated sigh as he felt a tingle at the back of his mind. He turned just in time to see Maria leaving their room.

“Hey Spaceboy, more bad dreams?”

Looking into her deep green eyes he realized he had to tell them now.

“That’s just it Maria. There not bad dreams. I know I keep telling everyone that they have this foreboding atmosphere to them, but it not in a bad way. Does that even make sense? Geeze, now you got me rambling. I knew I’ve been spending too much time with you pixie.”

Choosing not to be offended this time Maria just wrapped her arms around his waist and told him to come back to bed.

“Can’t I already sent Kyle to bed,” glancing at his watch he saw that it was already 3am, “besides there’s only two more hours before everyone’s up and we are mobile."

Sighing Maria shook her head in agreement, stood up on her toes and gave Michael a kiss before going back to bed herself.

Once she was gone Michael smiled and thanked whatever god or higher being that was looking out for them that Maria decided to come with them. With him, as she had clarified after two months on the road. He shouldn’t have really been so surprised with Max and Liz being all soul gazing in their newlywed state, but it still came to a shock to him when he was on guard one night and Maria came out of the room she was sharing with Isabel and said point blank,

“You know Michael, I was a real idiot when I left you because those dreams of being this huge successful singer, they really pale in comparison to the dream of being with you. So I just want you to know that I plan on being with you till death do us part.”

Then she stopped as if having realizing what she just said and blushed. With Michael smirking at her she continued, “I mean… Spaceboy is it ok if I come back to you now?”

Michael pulled her into his embrace and kissed her with all the passion he’d been holding back since she said she was leaving Roswell with him.

At first, Isabel wasn’t too pleased with having to share a room with Kyle now every time they stopped at a hotel, but that changed, as they became even better friends. Something that even rivaled Liz and Maria’s friendship at times.

Michael was so caught up in the reminiscing the flash caught him by surprise. It was over in seconds, but gave him enough information that he knew where they were heading off too in a few hours.

It had the same pull as his dreams. A connection to someone vitally important to the three aliens, especially Michael, someone who finally had all the answers they searched for their whole lives. The truth could finally be revealed to them. Not from some skin, or traitorous protector, or murdering bitch. It was someone who could not only tell them everything, but also save them from the end of the world.

Startled Michael shook his head at this last thought. He reached into the car for the maps; he had to find the fastest route towards Chicago because he knew time was short.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

*~* Just outside Chicago*~*

At the same time Michael was pulling out his maps a few hundred miles away near Chicago a girl sat up in bed. She groaned out loud as she clenched her brown eyes shut in frustration. “Damn It RATH!!”

She shoved her unruly hair out of her face. It was too soon for them to find her. She didn’t think the dreams had been that detailed or frequent enough to give away her location.

Perhaps she had underestimated the strength of their power.

Khivar would not be pleased if they were all reunited. He would send down more then just an army of skins. If that happened the Royal Four would never win.

She couldn’t let that happen. She wouldn’t let Khivar win again. Watching him destroy her family once was much more then enough as far as she was concerned.

She sighed as she laid back down and starting blocking the other three as they woke up and started moving closer in her direction. Ava was far enough away that she didn’t have to actively block her, which was good because it would take all of her concentration from stopping the connections to solidify and alert Khivar that the Royals were together again.

The most she could hope for at this point was that only one of them would come to confront her. If all of the resurrected Royal Four where in the same room, this soon, Earth was surely doomed…

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Part 2

Driving had almost become therapeutic for Isabel. She didn’t have to think about all the men who gave up their lives for knowing her. She didn’t have to reflect on all the lives she destroyed. Not to mention she could ignore the fact that she betrayed her family and sentenced her planet to the rule of a tyrant. Nope driving was perfect for Isabel to avoid all these plaguing thoughts.

She glanced over at Kyle in the passenger seat and couldn’t help from smiling. With his forehead against the window and mouth open he looked quite comical.

She saw the mile marker sign on the side of the highway and sighed. She wasn’t even in her mid twenties yet and she felt too old to be chasing Michaels dream around the country.

That was a little harsh on her part. They didn’t wonder the country trying to solve these mysterious dreams he was having. A large part of the wondering was because the Air Force found a tape of her using her powers. More guilt for Isabel. Wonderful just what she needed.

Michael’s dreams where more of a sidebar to their adventure. When they were frequent and stronger they focused on the dreams otherwise it was ignored.

Isabel wasn’t sure why they have ignored them for as long as they did. If she was honest with herself she too felt the connection Michael spoke of. Granted it wasn’t as strong and she definitely did not have dreams, but the nights Michael did, the next morning Isabel would wake up knowing that the person who was connected to them was reaching out again. Trying to find them.

Isabel knew Max felt it too, not just from the worried look in his eyes the next morning after Michael has a dream, but the fact that he wouldn’t argue with Michael at all about them.

Despite the fact that Max had long ago given up his thrown that day they sat by the ruins of the Pod Chamber he was even more a leader now then before. Marrying Liz had awakened something in him.

They trained their powers now, all five of them together. Yep that’s right both Liz and Kyle where crackling and buzzing with the alien juice that has gotten them all into so much trouble. Not only were they well trained in their powers now, but physically too.

Max had forced them all to sign up for some sort of class in self-defense, so they did. It was like he was preparing an army albeit a small one. She realized he was; it wasn’t just that he had married Liz it was what Liz had told them all about the end of the world.

OH what a fun night that was!! Ha. Since then they have trained like the small force they are. It doesn’t matter what city they are in or if they are traveling on the road they are constantly training, building strength.

She looked back at her brothers through the mirror. With Liz curled into his side reading a book Max gazed out the window deep in thought. She could almost see the plans he was forming and discarding as the cornfields pasted by.

Further back Michael too was deep in thought, a world away from his traveling companions and the little pixie at his side who was humming a soft tune and writing lyrics in her notebook.

As Isabel pulled onto the off ramp for the last rest stop before Chicago she didn’t realize how right she was in regards to Michaels thoughts.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Antar

“Raeanne!! Where are you?”

She giggled as she popped out from behind a bush in the gardens.

“Oh Rath, Why are you in search for your little annoying sister?”

“Time to train” was his clipped response.

Raeanne rolled her eyes at her older brother. Rath knew she didn’t understand why she still had to practice in the four square. Ava was here now and she would soon be replacing her spot.

Raeanne wanted to focus on learning more about the Granolith. After all it was her who was born to protect it not to mention yield its power. How could she ever hope to do that if she was still protecting the other Royals; that was his job.

Raeanne loved her friends and family, but she could sense that she would have to be better trained in her role as Granolith protector in order for them to win the war that was coming.

Rath snapped his fingers in front of Raeanne’s face. She had been spacing out a lot lately even he had noticed it.

“Vilandra said Ava was out getting fitted for her wedding dress and to get you since we have to train. Besides the four of us haven’t practiced together in months. I miss the power signature we have together; it’s not the same with the queenie to be.”

Raeanne sighed and humored her older brother as he ushered her along to meet up with Zan and Vilandra.
It was the first time in centuries that there were four royals, two sets of siblings so powerful that their four square was feared and at the same time reverend among the whole kingdom.

No one dared to challenge them. However, they would not be the leaders of the kingdom. Zan was betrothed to Ava before Raeanne was born so the Four Square that would lead and defend wasn’t actually the strongest on the planet like it had been for ages.

Besides that Raeanne had a bigger destiny.

It had been even longer since there was an assigned protector of the granolith. The people were beginning to think its power dormant forever. That was until the birth of the fourth royal.

Raeanne was shaken out of her thoughts with a yell,

“Rae!!!! I’ve missed you so much! All you do is studying now about the granolith. You’ve left me alone to befriend Ava. I thought we were better friends then that!”

Raeanne giggled and exclaimed,

“You’re just upset because if I’m not here Ava’s brother Khivar follows you around endlessly!”

At Vilandra blush Zan chuckled and elbowed Rae,

“It’s been awhile. Where’ve you been rug rat?”

“What Zannie worried lil Rae would forget about all of you? Never!!”

Rath laughed at his sister’s antics and it wasn’t long before Zan and Vilandra joined him….

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“Michael!!! For the love of the Check Republic snap out of it!! Max he’s not…”

Maria trailed off as Max reached over and shook Michael to get his attention.

Slowly Michael’s eyes refocused to the amber eyes of a long lost friend, “Zan?”

Max grimaced at the named. It was never a good thing when the alien side was brought up.

“Michael, its Max are you okay?”

“Max...? What?”

Looking around Michael saw they were at a rest stop, parked far from the few other cars that were scattered in the lot. He saw Isabel and Kyle outside leaning in through the door of the SUV. Liz’s huge chocolate brown eyes were starring at him and Maria was sniffing some oil next to him. He stuttered to answer them,

“I’m... I saw… I remembered.”

“Remember what” asked a frantic Maria.

As Liz reached over to touch Michael’s hand she got a flash. She gasps as she sees Zan, Vilandra and Rath laughing with another girl.

Michael still in a daze the others looked to Liz for an answer.

“It was you guys, before when you were,” looking around she sees people nearby and decided to just point upwards instead of actually saying, “on Antar.”

Isabel gasps and Max asks,

“What did you see?”

“Well, you were laughing. It was you, Isabel, and Michael with another girl.”

“Tess” asked Kyle as Maria asks “Ava” at the same time.

Liz hesitated for only a moment and in that time Michael answered so quietly they almost missed it, “NO! She was my younger sister, lil Rae.”

Max only thought for a few minutes, “That’s who were chasing isn’t it? She’s the connection we all feel?”

Slowly Michael nods his head.

“Well wonderful now that’s all settle can we get moving we’re starting to draw some attention from that guy working the booth.”

Kyle hopped into the driver seat as he said all this and the others nodded in agreement. Getting back on the road the car was silent for a few minutes, suddenly Liz exclaims,

“We need a plan.”

“Ever the planner,” remarks Isabel, “A plan for what?”

Although nobody noticed expect for Maria Michael was nodding in agreement.

However it was Max who answered his sisters question, “How to find her once we get to Chicago. How we approach her once we find her. Do we even want to do this? We need lots of plans.”

Shocking everyone Michael had answers to all these, “I can find her, through the connection and I’ll approach her alone,” before anyone could protest this he rushed on, “it’s important okay. I feel it. If we all try to talk to her at once it… I’m not sure but it’s not the right plan. Just trust me. Please.”

He added at the end. Seeing the desperation in his eyes Max slowly nodded.

While Michael searched out his long lost sister Maria, Liz and Kyle could contact the Sheriff and him and Isabel would scope out the area and find some hotel for them.

They only had an hour left before they were in Chicago and Max feared it would be another one of those life-changing moments. At the same time he had great hope that it would be a change for the better if not immediately, definitely in the long fun for them.

“Stop!!!”

Kyle slammed on the breaks as Michael screamed at him and grabbed his head. Maria and Isabel both started to panic immediately and Liz turned to Max for an answer.

Gaining some control Michael explained, “She’s…. we can’t all be this close to her. She’s trying to block the connections, but the closer we all are to her the harder it gets. We can’t all keep going.”

He turned his eyes to Max and Isabel “You two have to keep going to Boston and finish that business.”

Isabel nearly screeched at him, “Michael, we are not leaving you to meet some alien by yourself”

“I’ll stay with him.”

All eyes turned a shocked look to Kyle.

“What? I’ve never been to Chicago and no offense but I don’t’ really dig the east coast.”

“I’ll stay too.”
“No, Maria, go with Max. I don’t know how dangerous this is going to be and I don’t know if I’ll be able to protect you.”

Maria whined, “Kyle gets to stay!”

“Hey I can protect myself remember I got the aliens juice now!”

Not only did Kyle’s humor once again get rid of tension, but also Maria silently nodded her head and stopped arguing.

“Okay, so Michael and Kyle will head the rest of the way to find his sister. The rest of us will go around Chicago to Boston,” glancing at Michael Max added, “very far around Chicago.”

Michael and Kyle climbed out of the car. Liz climbed into the driver seat as Maria climbed in next to her. Max and Isabel sat in the back and Michael and Kyle watched as the rest of their family rode away.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Part 3

After switching driver seats with Max, Liz settled into the very back with the laptop.

They had picked it up six months ago, right after getting the new SUV. They had been in a town three whole weeks and all of them had gotten pretty decent jobs.

So now they had a more reliable form of transportation, and they could be connected to the world with the wireless network.

Liz was typing away furiously leafing through the next state in search of the allusive Serena. She felt a piercing stare and looked up to the sadden eyes of Isabel.

Immediately Liz reached up for her hand both remembering their tall, lanky Alex who should be the one at the computer.

Liz soon went back to work if Alex had been there they would already know where Serena was, but instead they were relying on Liz to find her.

She had already gone through 20 state records eliminating all Serena’s she came across which weren’t many. There were a few possible matches, but then Liz would notice something like the woman was sixty years old or worse yet even dead.

One girl, Liz was positive matched the Serena they were looking for, but she had a brother.

Future Max never mention that, than again Future Max didn’t say much. This is why Liz added that girl and he brother to the list of possibilities. So far she was the only one on it.

The only problem, they were as hard to track down as hopefully they themselves were.

Liz hadn’t told the others, but in truth she had stopped looking for other Serena’s. She hadn’t had a premonition, but her gut instinct told her to follow this lead.

Liz figured as far as tasks went in preparing for the War, she had the easier person to find.

Isabel was giving the difficult job to find Ava. And all she could go on was a picture of Tess, which was proving no help at all.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Antar

“It’s a pleasure to finally meet you Raeanne. The others speak so highly of you.”

“Why thank you Ava, but I’m sure that’s nothing to what the entire kingdom is saying about you.”

Ava smiled weakly at the girl. In the past few months she had been at the Palace she had grown much closer to the three oldest Royals.

She was worried about her brother’s plan; she was starting to think it might actually work and she feared for all their lives.

Ava wished she was stronger to stop her twin, or just brave enough to tell someone who could stop him, but try as she might the courage failed her.

She looked up to see all four Royals starring at her, blushing she asked, “I’m sorry what did you say?”

“How are you enjoying your time at the Palace?” repeated Raeanne.

As Ava answered Zan and Vilandra seemed nonetheless wiser, but Rath looked suspicious, even more so than when she first arrived and Raeanne looked… Ava wasn’t sure what scared her more.

The fact that Raeanne looked through her sparkling crystal blue eyes to the depths of her soul or that she knew.

Ava went to speak to finally warn them or try and start planning to stop Khivar, but Raeanne suddenly shook her head to stop her.

Then glanced one last time with eyes full of acceptance, before running off to who knows where.

Once Raeanne had turn to flee Ava stopped talking mid sentence. She watched as Zan just smiled at her, Vilandra turned to watch her best friend flea, but only shook her head in confusion. Rath gave Ava one last look before he too went off in search of his sister.

Ava was unsettled to say the least. She prayed that the five of them together would be strong enough, but she feared when the time came they would be separated and defeated with out putting up much of a fight at all.

Her brother would be left to rule a kingdom and this thought terrified her.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

*~* Washington*~*

Waking up with a start, Ava noticed the tears leaking from her usually sparking eyes. Seeing it was time to get up she went to find her roommate to warn him.

“Hey, get up its well after nine.”

“Five more minutes mom!”

Ava had to suppress her laughter, “First off I’m not your mother. Secondly we don’t’ have five more minutes. The Royals are close.”

Fully awake now he said, “Close… to our location or...?”

“No, Worse! Close to each other, I think Michael, Max and Isabel have finally found Raeanne.”

“But that means Khivar will know! Not only that but we’ll have a very pissed off Alien King on our tails. I’ve never seen Max angry, but I don’t think I’d like it, and I’d imagine your dear brother Khivar is a tad worse then Maxwell.”

Ava nearly growled as she said, “What did I say about addressing him as my brother?!?”

“Fine. I think it’s time you let the block down, let Isabel find you, let her find us. We’re weak out here all alone Ava. And you need to start training with the others, and I miss my girls!!!”

She huffed knowing he was right, but horrified of the impending battle.

“Ava please it’s been more than three years since I’ve been with my family. I love you Ava, you’ve been a great sister to me, but it’s not enough and I shouldn’t be enough for you. I know it’s scary, but we can handle it together. We can handle anything together.”

As he pulled her close and kissed the top of her blonde hair streaked with purple he heard her mumble,

“Ok Alex. Time to stop hiding.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Part 4

“Why did you really want to go with me Kyle?”

Kyle rolled his eyes as the usually silent companion asked the question for a second time in less then 20 minutes.

As they walked through the park, he sighed trying to buy some time as he organized his thoughts. Buddha help me!

“Michael, I know it’s usually Liz who gets the premonitions or you get the freaky dreams, but I have this, I don’t know a feeling.”

Before Michael could mock him he hurried on, “it’s like I’m searching for someone and time is not on my side.”
Not noticing Michael’s knowing look he continued.

“They’re not here with your sister, but going further east just felt wrong. The wrong direction for me to be going at this time in our lives.”

In response Michael started, “ I know what you mean about time being…”

Kyle glanced at Michael when he stopped short.

He saw him staring ahead, following his gaze his breath caught as he spotted her.

She was the spitting image of Michael. Uncontrolled, brown hair down to her shoulders, tense posture even as she was sitting on the bench seeming to be relaxed. A glint of silver caught his eyes, rings, on the same fingers as Michael. Doc Martin boots just like him too.

Then he glanced back to her face as her eyes shifted around the area scooping it out for evil nasties, just like he had seen Michael do a hundred times.

“ Wow she looks just like you Michael. Is that her?”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
She was sitting in a park when she felt the pressure in her head lighten considerably.

Relieved that Michael had gotten her message before it was too late. She knew it wouldn’t be long before she was reunited with her brother.

It had been far too long since she had seen Rath. But even this visit was just that a visit.

It wasn’t there time yet to be a family again; there was so much to do.

The others had to get Ava back with them not to mention they have yet to find Serena and Spencer. Maybe they could just wait for those two to come to them.

She smiled as she thought of her two cousins out there traveling the country much like the Roswellians only they were fighting skins.

The two of them were single handedly searching out and defeating enemies that threaten their very existence. They were still very much like Sarafina and Saeran, always fighting to protect the ones they love. Willing to die for the cause.

This time though nobody was going to die, not on her watch.

She felt the tingle at the back of her mind before she saw him.

She turned and smiled into the brown eyes of her older brother who she hadn’t seen in a lifetime.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Michael starred at the girl sitting at the park bench.

She was young, still only a teenager which was laughable because he barely wasn’t a teenager.

He felt the connection and had no choice but to walk up to her.

As she turned around and smiled at him he found himself starring into a set of eyes that were an exact match to his, “Raeanne?”

He slowly questioned. The smile that lit up her face was blinding, but she shook her head no, “It’s Christina now. What’s your name Rath?”

If it seemed odd that she asked this question while addressing him by his old name, Michael didn’t seem phased, “Michael. Michael Guerin.”

“Michael I know this must seem like an odd request and I know your mental powers won’t be as strong, but you have to block our connection. Everything depends on that.”

Michael took a moment to focus, he found the most recent connection to one of his own kind, to his little sister.

It was struggling to solidify and roam free. He regretful began to build a wall around it.

Looking into her eyes he reinforced that wall stronger than anything he ever built so even the Hurricane DeLuca would have trouble getting through it.

She smiled as he finished.

“Thank you Michael, don’t get me wrong I would love to be connect to you and Zan and Vilandra again, but its too dangerous,”

“Max and Isabel” Michael automatically corrected.

“Right sorry,”

She glanced at Kyle, and Michael quickly introduced them, “That’s Kyle. He’s a friend.”

She merely nodded and said, “We should go some where I know you have lots of questions and I have the answers.”

“All the answers?”

Christina looked into the eyes that were mirror reflections of her own and with the saddest voice Michael had ever heard she answered, “Yes, I have all your answers. I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you before, but it just…. It would have ended worse then the first time.”
“The first time” questioned Michael.

Christina hesitated only a moment before decided how much to reveal to an older brother who was untrusting by nature.

“The first time from when future Max came back. If I had shared with you these answers we might not have even had the 14 years they did. So I had to wait until you came to me. I could sort of guide you, but I couldn’t directly go to you. I didn’t want to bring the End of the World any sooner.”

Michael just starred at her and nodded following her as she started to lead them back to her apartment.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Michael was astonished; she knew about Future Max and the other timeline. Apparently she wasn’t lying when she said she everything.

She opened the door to her apartment and allowed Kyle and Michael to enter before following them in and locking the door.

Michael saw the soft glow of her hands right before it faded and she turned back to them.

“Had to make sure nobody was here while I was gone.”

Kyle seemed to accept this with a nod, but Michael started to question it, “ How...” Christina smiled sheepishly.

“First I think we need a history lesson,”

Michael and Kyle both had to stop the groan from escaping them, neither of them had liked history very much in high school. They didn’t seem to think they would like it very much now.

She couldn’t help, but laugh at their faces, “You spend your whole life looking for the answers to your past. Did you ever stop to think those answers are found in our history. They are our history.”

“Anyways, first I have to tell you about Antar that way you can go back to the others and tell them.”

“Aren’t you coming with us?” Kyle looked at her in confusion.

“I’ll get to that… where was I? OH after the truth about what happened on Antar I have to tell you a few things about now. Some things that need to be done and others, which have to be prevented. Then I have some good news.”

Michael and Kyle just starred at her.

“UM okay first off, where are the others right now.”

Kyle didn’t even hesitate, “On their way to Boston,” he stopped as Christina paled and turned to Michael.

“You have to contact them and stop them!!”

“Why?”

She looked at both of them and knew she had to reveal this truth before she was ready.

“Okay, but you’re going to have to trust me, because I can’t fully explain YET.”

After watching them both slowly nod, “Jessie was with the FBI”

Kyle started to shake his head in disbelief, but Michael caught the use of her past tense, “Was?”

“They killed him, maybe three months ago, Max, Isabel, and Liz are walking straight into the newest FBI headquarters.”

Kyle wanted to ask questions. Mainly How the HELL did she know all this shit, but Michael was already dialing,

“Max, you can’t go to Boston…Jessie’s dead… because he was with the FBI and they killed him, one of their own. It’s a trap, Maxwell you go to Boston and not only are you handing yourself over but your sister and wife to the White Room. And Maria. You think you can all live through that for the time it takes Kyle and me to save your ass carry on, but you sure as hell better drop Maria off now. Please Maxwell, just go south…okay head to Florida or something… okay yeah see you then.”

“What did El Presidente have to say?”

Christina glanced at the disrespect shown to her King and former friend, but ignored it as Michael said, “Two weeks we meet them. Isabel will contact you with the details.”

Kyle just nodded his head in understanding as he prayed to Buddha for patience.
It was going to be the longest two weeks of his life.

AN: Alex and Ava aren't really brother and sister. They have just grown to have the same type of relationship he shared with Maria and Liz. Sorry for the confusion.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Part 5A

With Isabel and Liz napping in the back Maria was the only one left to question Max, “So what did Michael say?”

Max shot her a sideways glance,

“We can’t go to Boston.”

“And did Spaceboy give a reason for this sudden change of plans?”

She noticed the second look too.

“Fine keep your secrets. You only have till they wake up anyways.”

She pointed towards the sleeping duo in the back.

“Well, where we going instead?”

“South, not sure exactly where yet, but we can figure that out when we stop for lunch.”

Maria just nodded and grabbed at the laptop.

She figured she might as well try to find Ava the normal way since Isabel wasn’t having much luck.

She couldn’t believe how far they had come since graduation day.

Max and Liz where married, Isabel was on her way to getting a divorce, Kyle was her stepbrother.

HA she had a brother with secret alien powers.

Everyone had powers now and they were strong, focused. Each of them with a gift they excelled in.

Isabel could dream-walk cross-country and Max wasn’t the only one with a shield, although Isabel’s was a deep purple.

Liz could do that funky astral projection thing now all by herself.

Granted she could only get to locations she knew or to people she shared a connection with which turned out to be Max. Surprise. Surprise

And for some reason as long as they weren‘t too far Liz could get to Isabel and Michael through Max‘s connection to them.

Whereas Liz just projected her mind Kyle could actual shimmer his entire body to a certain spot.

Same thing held true for him though; he had to know the location or share a connection with someone already there.

Maria wondered about the sister Michael was in search for what kind of powers she would have.

How would she help stop the Earth from turning into a second Antar?

Maria closed her eyes and sighed as much as she feared the upcoming battles, for the lives of all her friends; she wanted it to be over. She wanted to stop looking over her shoulder and living from the SUV.

As much as she loved her family she wanted time away from them, to be able to miss them.

More than anything she missed her mom and surprisingly enough Roswell and everything in it.

“Max why are we headed south?”

Maria just smirked as she heard Isabel’s question and turned to Max to finally get an answer.

She was not expecting the dread and horror in his eyes as he looked into the mirror catching the eyes of his sister.

Whatever it was Maria knew things were about to turn ugly.

Part 5B

Antar

Vilandra heard the laughter before she actually saw them, “Why if it isn’t the newlyweds!! How was the honeymoon? I do hope you brought back presents for everyone.”

Turning an interesting shade of pink Ava nodded and turned away as Zan replied.

“Hello to you too sister. Thank you for asking the trip was splendid. Where are Rath and Raeanne? I need an update.”

“Rath’s in the War room. Raeanne and I are actually on our way out.”

“Very well have fun Landra. Give my regards to Raeanne. Be safe.”

Vilandra reached up and hugged her brother and smiled at him before walking on to meet Raeanne at the Palace gates.

Raeanne was very quite and sullen as Vilandra informed her, “Zan says hi.”

“Oh they’re back already?”

Vilandra looked at her friend curiously.

“They’ve been gone for two weeks. What is it Raeanne? Can’t you tell me what has you so concerned that you’re jumping at shadows, spacing out at all hours of the day and worse yet your blocking us. Rath and I have discussed it and we haven’t felt you since the wedding of Zan and Ava. Please Rae!! Let me help you.”

Vilandra saw the desperate want in Rae’s eyes followed closely by tears before she clenched her eyes shut allowing only a single tear to fall.

“Landra, I wish I could tell you, get help from you and Zan and my big brother because I’m so scared, but its not time yet and I just hope that you will all be able to forgive me for what is to come.”

Vilandra looked at her lifetime friend and saw the truth in her eyes, her fear, but most of all determination. Determination to not only keep her secret but do her best to keep her family safe as possible.

Because of this Vilandra ignored the rest and hooked arms with her friend as they continued towards the town.

Neither of them ever saw it coming.

Vilandra felt Raeanne tense a moment before Khivar and his men came out of hiding.

“Well what do we have here? Not one, but two beautiful, unprotected princesses.”

Vilandra immediately put up a shield and called for help through the connection.

Raeanne despite knowing it wouldn’t be enough built up her energy anyways.

Opening their connection only enough to fight Raeanne told Vilandra the plan. At three she dropped half the shield and Raeanne sent out a force that took out 1/3 of the men gathered.

Vilandra was able to put the shield back up before the blast hit. Rae fed her more energy through their connection to withstand the blasts.

As she did this, Raeanne connected to an older brother who was so startled form the long absent connection and fumbled.

Regaining his steps in time to notice the connection was again gone.

“They’re too far” Rae told Vilandra through their connection. Knowing it was true Vilandra only nodded as tears slipped form the corners of her eyes.

Feeling Raeanne prepare for another hit she refigured her shield.

Raeanne aimed at Khivar ignoring all the other men as they aimed at her.

She attacked, but even as she felt the energy fly towards her she knew what she sent wasn’t enough. And she wasn’t willing to tap into the powers of the Granolith.

Khivar was thrown backwards, but Raeanne fell too.

Vilandra screamed in anger as her friend fell.

Her shield expanded for an instant wiping out the approaching men, but then her energy failed her too.

Falling to her knees she realized Raeanne wasn’t dead. She almost wept with joy as she tried to crawl to her.

Khivar stepped into her path, “Looks like we only get one princess after all.”

He reached for her head and the last action Vilandra did of her own knowing free will was to destroy every connection in her mind with her loved ones in order to protect them.

She saw Rae flinch from the impact and cried out for Zan and Rath.

As she was dragged off by Khivar’s men a thought not of her own drifted across her mind.

“Don’t worry Landra, this is not the end. We Will TRIUMPH!! But I’m sorry, so sorry for all that you must endure first.”

With that Vilandra passed out from complete exhaustion and misery.

Isabel wiped the tears form her eyes before she looked out the window.

She barely heard herself ask the question, but the shock of Max’s answer brought her completely out of the past.

“Jessie was FBI. I’m sorry Isabel, but they killed him. We can’t go to Boston; it’s a trap.”

And then Isabel truly grieved.

And only in part for a husband she never truly loved. Mostly it was for a girl fallen in the Antarian forest who was too young to be left to the destruction Isabel knew was still to come for her.

Part 6

“Have any of you started to remember?”

Christina figured that was as good a place as any to start.

“I had a memory flash today, but Tess was the only on besides the Dupes that really remembered anything. Anything important at least.”

Christina sighed at Michael’s answer.

She knew those memories weren‘t real, but at this point that really wasn‘t important.

“I guess I’ll start at the very beginning then. King Valin and Queen Zandra were the rulers of Antar. They had two children, twins, Zan and Vilandra. The Queen’s distant cousin Lady Rebekka was our mother. Our father, Lord Rohan was the King’s council like Rath was to Zan.

The four of us were inseparable. We were the best of friends. Growing up together in the Palace. Going to school together, training together, actually we did absolutely everything, but die together.

Anyways, we are the Royal Four, as a four square we were undefeatable. But it wasn’t meant for me to be in the ruling four square.

As the Fourth Royal I was charged as the sole protector of the Granolith. It had been too long since our family produced someone to yield its power.

Most Antarians feared the Granolith was useless, no more than a symbol of what use to be.

Usually the King and Queen had only two children and then our family would produce another child. Making up three royals. Leader, War Councilor, and Ambassador. In order to complete the four square needed to rule the leader would marry someone with strong powers.

Then two years after the birth of the three royals: Zan, Rath, and Vilandra. Raeanne was born.

The entire kingdom rejoiced that day, but our downfall was already set.

Ava was betrothed to Zan at her birth. She was only six months younger then the three of you. Never being given the hand of a Royal her twin brother, Khivar, grew dangerous with his jealousy and rage.

Years of being pushed aside and forgotten as Ava got the best of everything made Khivar a bitter man.

On their visits to the Palace before Ava moved in there permanently in preparation to become Queen, Khivar would be at the end of all the jokes Rath and Raeanne played on him.

Zan was kind, but Khivar did not like Zan for taking away his sister.

Vilandra was polite to Khivar, but he wanted to own her and use her to gain a place on the throne that being married to her would guarantee.

Something she couldn’t give him because she was to marry Rath.

We had heard how unkind Khivar was and even if Rath wasn’t standing between her Vilandra would have never turned to him.

I suppose in the long run it was their indifference to Khivar that caused him to formulate a plan that ended all our lives.

Shortly after Zan and Ava’s wedding he captured Vilandra.

She was mind raped by Sundari.

Sundari had betrayed us because of her love of Khivar. She was many years older than him, having two children who where his age.

None of that seemed to matter though because when they were together if you could get past the evil glint in their eyes and their thirst for power you could see they truly loved each other.

Sundari was our aunt. Her betrayal hurt mother very deeply. However, it did result in us being able to grow up with Saeran and Sarafina later in life.

Saeran and Sarafina were two of the greatest warriors Antar has ever known and it was because their mother abandoned them for a man bent on destroying the rest of their family that Saeran and Sarafina are legends even to this day.

So Sundari mind raped Vilandra and then her body was taken over by Khivar.

With no control left she was forced to lead him straight into the Palace.

Once inside he dropped his control and Vilandra fell with it.

The months of torture where too much and she breathed her last breath in her home.

The instant before she died Vilandra was able to re-establish the connections to warn the others.

They all fled the throne room.

Zan was on his way to the War Room and Rath was trying to lead Ava to safety.

Khivar found Rath and Ava next. He killed his own sister as she tried to save Rath.

She tried to give Antar hope at a bright future.

It was too little to later.

As her limp body hit the ground Rath too was taken out only having time to warn Raeanne to save the King.

Raeanne had long since stopped communicating with the rest of her family. She would spend all her time with the Granolith preparing for a life she still had to live.

The connections she had cut off almost killed her from shock as first Vilandra was ripped completely from her followed closely by the new Queen Ava.

The shock of these deaths had her opening her last two remaining connections to Rath and Zan. She heard Rath’s plea for her to save their King.

Then the loss of the connection from her brother was almost too much for her to handle, but he had given her an order.

One last job that he couldn’t do and she had to do it.

For Zan, for Rath, for Antar, for their Future.

When she finally found the King she was too late. His body was limp and broken. She left him to die alone as she set out to finish a final order from her beloved King, her childhood friend.

Raeanne had to get the bodies to the Queen. They had a plan to save two worlds.”

Waving her hands between the two of them,

“We are the results of that plan. WE CAN NOT FAIL AGAIN. I'll die before I let that happen."

“I was starting to think there was no happily ever after with you people, good to know I was right.”

Kyle’s defeated tone echoed through the small apartment.

“No,” Michael’s began barely above a whisper.

“He won’t win again. We won’t let him. This time we know he’s coming and we’ll be ready.”

Part 7

Max finished telling the three girls in front of him all that Michael had said in his phone call. He had pulled off at the next rest stop to refuel both the car and themselves.

Plus, he was exhausted from driving and needed to switch with somebody. He felt a hand squeeze his and he looked down into the loving eyes of his wife.

Gathering strength from her that he would need, he kissed her lightly on the forehead and continued.

“Maria how about you get some food with Liz and I’ll fill up the car with gas.”

They both nodded and headed out to get sandwiches for everyone.

Max glanced at Isabel, “Iz. Izzie, talk to me. You’ve been starring for a long time. Please say something.”

“Max, I’m hurt, so deeply that Jessie has done that to me, I trusted him and he betrayed that trust and the fact that he could have put all of us in more danger angers me to no end, but it’s not…

I don’t know how to explain it but it feels like what Tess did.

On some levels its deeper and others its not. I didn’t love him Max. Hell we were risking our lives to go to Boston just to give him the divorce papers.

It’s just, even though I’m hurt he did this to us, I’m still sadden that his life was ended by all of this. It’s one more death because of who we are.”

“No Isabel. People die because of the choices they make or the choice is taken out of their hand.

We are not at fault. You are not responsible for his death or any other.

Jessie’s own choices led to this.”

Max watched as Isabel slowly shook her head, “I hear you Max, but it may take a while to get here.”

She pointed to her heart.

“Anyways, something else happened when I was taking a nap.”

Max gave her a questioning look just as Maria and Liz returned with food for all of them.

“What we miss?”

Isabel looked to Maria and Liz, glancing back at Max she answered the question held in all their eyes,

“I met Raeanne. In a flash, Zan and Ava had just returned from their honeymoon and Raeanne and Vilandra were going into town for something, but Khivar stopped them. He…he captured Vilandra and left Rae all alone in the forest for dead, but I don’t think, no, I know she wasn’t dead yet and Rath and Zan were on the way to help us.

They were too late for me, for Vilandra, because we were so far from the Palace, but they saved Raeanne. It’s all really cloudy after that.

I know Vilandra was mind raped and Khivar got a lot of information from her. The only thing she could protect was the location of Saeran and Sarafina as well as the Granolith.

Plus she did something. She cut off her connections to the others to stop them from being hurt through her I think.

But in the end Khivar still used her to get into the Palace.”

The other took in this new information, suddenly Liz asked, “Who are Saeran and Sarafina?”

“Um... They were warriors, brother and sister, twins like Zan and Vilandra and Khivar and Ava. They were also cousins to Rath and Raeanne.”

Shocked by all the knowledge Isabel had acquired in the memory Liz forced her self to focus on the most important part,

“Siblings Are you sure Isabel?”

“Yes”

Max looked back and forth between Liz and Isabel, “What’s going on Liz?”

Glowing with happiness and bouncing in true Maria fashion she exclaimed,

“I think I found her then. I mean if she was an alien from Antar and she really does have a brother I think I might have actually found her. Well, I don’t actually know where they are, they move around more then we do, but I found her!!”

Maria and Isabel just starred at Liz’s rambling.

Max smiled, “Ah Liz you’re going to have to clarify that a little bit for the rest of us you left back by Chicago with Michael and Kyle.”

Liz gave him a smile so bright, “Serena, I found Serena. She has a brother named Spencer. There’s a year age difference, but it’s them Saeran and Sarafina I feel it!”

Max was about to say something when all the sudden something opened in his mind, a connection that had long been dampened by the other party, “AVA!”

Liz tried to hide the hurt from her eyes, but Max and Maria both saw it.

“Oh Chica you want me to kick the king’s ass?”

Liz smiled as Max hurried to explain, “No Liz I didn’t mean like… it’s just that Ava, from New York, she I don’t know what she did.

It’s like she opened a connection or stopped blocking a preexisting one. Isabel can you feel her?”

Isabel searched her mind for what Max meant, but came up with nothing, before shaking her head she focused on the connections she did have.

She felt Max and Michael. And a tingle of something that she thought had died over three years ago.

Not being in the state of mind to deal with that she focused on Max and followed the connection through him. She very strongly felt Liz. Concentrating harder she felt a glimmer of a familiar soul and gasped.

“Ava! I feel her Max, only through our connection, but I can sense her.”

“Will you be able to dream-walk her now?”

Isabel looked into the amber eyes of her younger brother and nodded her head yes slowly.

“Okay then tonight we get a hotel so Isabel is comfortable enough for this dream-walk we have no idea where Ava is but she feels far. Once we have a location, we’ll go get her.”

Before he was met with the protests he knew where coming he addressed each of them in turn,

“Isabel I believe in you and your gifts. I know this is a lot to ask of you, but you can do it because you have to and time for us is running out.

Maria, Kyle and Michael will be fine besides we have two weeks before we meet with them, and Liz I’m not going to give any orders we will explain the situation to Ava and hope she wants to fight for this world even though she couldn’t fight for the last one.”

All three girls smiled as they nodded their heads not to their king, but to their friend, brother, and husband, who they trusted.

And who they knew would be responsible for leading them all to victory.

Part 8

*~* Blue Jetta headed northeast from Texas*~*

“You think the skins would be smarter then to hang out in dry climates where its always sweltering hot outside”

“Yeah the Royals sure got lucky the crashed in a desert. There would be a whole lot more of skins walking around if they ended up in wetter climates.”

Spencer smiled over at his younger sister, “How are you?”

Serena smirked at her brother’s concern.

“Okay I guess. It’s just super weird to get emotions from someone I’ve never met. To be able to feel their anger and confusion through a dormant connection that’s over 50 years old is just creepy.

And the closer we get the stronger the emotions get. If we weren’t together I don’t think I’d be able to block all the Royals then we’d really be screwed.”

Spencer glanced at Serena as he merged onto the highway headed towards Chicago.

“At least you’ll be able to help stop the connection from forming once we get there. Are they still all scattered?”

“Um… yeah Ava’s off to the west far behind up. I think she’s on the coast.

Christina’s right where we left her, but there are two other’s with her now. One’s her brother Rath the other is fainter maybe a human connected to the Royals one the king has changed? I’m not sure.

As for Zan and Vilandra and another fainter connection they are south of us but soon they will be headed west. I think they’re going to get Ava.”

“I don’t envy being her once Vilandra finds out her soul mate's still alive and Tess didn’t kill him.”

Spencer let out a laugh, “Yeah that makes two of us.”

Serena continued as if her brother hadn’t commented,

“Speaking of Ava how goes the secret love affair you’re having with the former Queen?”

“Apparently not secret enough. Other than that, it’s great. Serena I really think she’s the one; hell I know she’s the one for me. I just hope Zan isn’t mad I took his bride”

“You know he loves that human girl now, him and Ava will be nothing but friends in this lifetime. I’m glad for you Spence you deserve to be happy.

After this war I can see you and Ava settled down with the house and the white picket fence. Little kids with her eyes and your dark hair.”

Serena trailed off and her older brother noticed the sadness in her eyes.

“Oh Rena, don’t worry! You’ll find him I have no doubt about that.”

Serena gave her brother a doubtful look and then shook her head to clear away pointless thoughts.

“It doesn’t matter Spencer we have to get back to Christina and tell her what we found out from Niko.

Khivar wasn’t supposed to be sending men this soon down here. The four square hasn’t trained; Christina hasn’t connected to the Granolith. There’s just so much left to do still and Khivar will be here in less then a year.

Not to mention the fact that Earth is so not ready to be invaded by evil Aliens.”

“It doesn’t matter if we’re ready or not, Khivar is coming, he’s going to try and separate us and distract us and make us weak. That was how he won last time, but this time it won’t happen”

Serena looked at her brother under her eyelashes hesitant to ask a question that has plagued her in both lifetimes.

“Spencer do you think Khivar will have mother with him?”

She was prepared for the instant hatred her brother felt, but that didn’t make taking the waves of revulsion any easier to handle and then the shock of it all being closed off and slammed behind a door.

“Serena she’s not our mother; not here, not now. A lot has changed we have parents who love us and would never betray their children and family for the evil seduction of power.

Sundari really stopped being our mother the instant she laid a hand on Vilandra to harm her.”

Serena knew all this, but tears slide down her face anyways as she remembers a mother who would walk with her babies in the Palace garden and sing them songs.

A teacher to the girls as they started to develop their mental powers.

A confident when Serena fell in love with the idea of a boy who didn’t exist yet.

Serena sighed as she shook her head form these troubling thoughts.

“Tell me we’ll win this time Spencer, tell me nobody else that we love is going to die because of him.”

“I give you my word little sister, on all the stars in the sky that this time the Royal Four will be victorious and the people of Earth won’t have the same fate as those on Antar.

And I will do everything in my powers to keep our loved ones safe.”

Serena nodded her head and then laid it against the window for a nap.

It was still a long way to Chicago and they still had so long to go before they could rest.

On the way home from work Alex was constantly looking over his shoulder Just to be sure.

Once he was he ducked into a Café and pulled out his cell phone, dialing he watched as the shadow stopped across the way from the Café and looked into the window of the used bookstore.

“Sweetie!! How are you?”

“Alex what’s wrong?”

“You know those friends of your brothers who were going to stop buy for a visit later on. Well they’re here early”

It took Ava almost a full minute to realize he meant the skins.

“Shit, Alex are you okay.”

“Yes sweetums, but I won’t be home in time for dinner.”

Ava panicked, “Alex do they have? Have they captured you?”

Oh crap Alex thought, “No dear I just don’t want to lead her on…”

So what if the skin following him was a well built male who could probably take on Kyle and Michael without any super alien powers.

Hopefully Ava would get what he was implying.

“Alex I’ll meet you at our check point okay? Then we could head east maybe find the others first okay.”

Breathing a sigh of relief Alex answered,

“Sure honey, that’s sounds good. Make sure you tell Amanda if she drops by tonight…Okay.”

Alex knew that code might be a little more difficult for Ava to pick up; how many times in regular conversation does Isabel’s middle name come up, but he had faith that she could figure it out.

“Ah... Tonight… with Amanda? Ohhh! Alex you’re a genius! Be careful okay!!”

“No problem love ya.”

They both hung up, Alex reached the counter and order a simple coffee figuring it would be a while before he got a goods night rest again. He carefully watched the skin from a table near the back, trying to think of an escape plan to meet up with Ava.

That’s when he noticed the bus stop right in front of the Café; it would be risky, but it was his only shot.

As the bus pulled up Alex bolted for it, he got in anf sat in the very back ducking low, watching out the window.

He saw the skin run across the street to the Café and storm inside.

A few seconds later the skin was outside again staring after the bus and kicking a near by garbage can.

“Score one for the Stud!”

Alex closed his eyes and prayed that there wouldn’t be any more close encounters before he met up with the rest of his family.

Part 9

“What happen after that?”

Kyle question a few hours later once they were settled onto her coach with pizzas and a movie on. After only a minute Christina responded,

“We crashed in Roswell?”

Michael smirked and Kyle couldn’t help but laugh a little,

“Well that was technically after. I mean what happen with you and those warriors Saeran and Saraf… what’s her name?”

“Oh, Sarafina.”

“Right yeah whatever. You said you had to get the bodies and you never really mention Saeran and Sarafina again so what happen with them now that I’m assuming they're here on Earth right?”

“Yes they’re here. Um I’ll get back to them in a minute. After the three Royals and Ava were killed. Raeanne was the only one left to finish carrying out the plan, but the problem was she wouldn’t have enough power by herself to get the bodies to safety and it was to risky now with out a four square to use the Granolith.

Raeanne had to channel their remaining energy.

See after an Antarian dies they leave sort of a mark of their energy in the area. With the three royals and her being so strong plus her mental powers, she was able to channel that energy into herself and use the others powers to get in and out with out Khivar capturing her, at least immediately.

Saeran and Sarafina were enraged at what their mother and Khivar had done to their family and friends and they watched as Raeanne slowly began to go over the edge.

Each day was harder for her to hold onto reality, but she was able to thanks to the Granolith.

It was about three months later when Saeran and Sarafina were out on a mission that Niko captured Rae.

With the whole planet in mourning and one of the last familiar connections Sarafina had being to Raeanne she went insane while Niko had Rae prisoner.

Sarafina couldn’t handle the grief of millions and the tortured cries of a dear cousin.

She charged into the Palace one day and blew the whole thing to kingdom come.

Saeran was devastated at the loss of his sister.

He added her and himself to the plan and set off to do the only thing he could after his future was ensured.

He went out to save the last heir to the throne, Raeanne.”

“Wait, I have a question! Who was in the Palace when Sarafina blew it up, did any important bad guys die?”

Christina sadly shook her head.

“Just well you know them as skins here, but not even very many of them.

And if it wasn’t for the Granolith’s chamber Rebekka and Queen Zandra would have perished as well, but the Granolith protected them.”

“That bites! No more Palace and she didn’t even get to destroy some of Khivar’s minions.”

Christina didn’t look directly at either of them as she continued the story.

“It was about a month after Niko got Raeanne that the alarmed sounded with Saeran entering the hidden military base. Raeanne was so grateful that he had come to save her, but she knew it was too late; ever since Vilandra was capture they didn’t have a chance against Khivar.

Sundari killed her own son as he aimed a laser blast filled with all his anger, sorrow, and hate towards Khivar.

Raeanne only realized she was crying at the death of her last friend because of her blurred vision.

Rae knew what she had to do to save Antar from a fate worse then what they are suffering now.

She let down all her mental blocks. Walls and barriers crumbled in her mind as she let the thoughts of every citizen of Antar wash over her and over her.

Sundari tried to mind rape her to find the location of the Granolith, but she almost died with the force of the thoughts that hit her.

In a fit of rage Khivar snapped Rae’s neck. And that is the end of the Royal Four on Antar.”

Michael was the first to recover, “So Saeran and Sarafina are here on Earth?”

Christina nodded her head and paused for a moment.

“They’re headed here now. They were in Texas taking out a skin camp.”

“By themselves?!!”

Michael was shocked how could they risk something so dangerous.

“Calm down Michael the camp was small only 20 skins or so. They’ve dealt with much more in their time here. They are the oldest here. I’m not exactly sure how that worked out but Spencer’s 25 now and Serena’s going to be 24 soon.”

“SERENA?”

Both Michael and Kyle yelled at the same time.

Christina merely nodded at their goofy looks on their faces.

“Liz has been searching for her for six months!”

Concentrating for only a second Christina nodded again, “Yep and she found her too, and earlier today they realized Serena had a brother.

Granted they didn’t have an exact location, but she would have found them eventually.”

Michael looked at her suspiciously, “How do you know that?”

Christina sighed it was finally time to tell them how strong she was, how strong they could all be.

“Look Michael, don’t get all defensive okay it’s because of my connection to the Granolith. I’m able to tap into our dormant connections from before more easily then the rest of you. Trust me that’s all I’m using.

If we tried now to reestablish those connections it would be signing a death certificate for planet earth.”

“Why?”

Kyle decided he was beginning to like this history lesson despite how increasingly dangerous things were getting for them.

“Khivar would sense it. If the Royal Four plus Ava reconnected and started training Khivar would get ready to counterstrike.

Because he would see that simple action as a move on our part to start a War. Or rather continue the War.

As long as we are separated and appear to not know anything we’re safer.

At some point Khivar will decided to come down here with a few of his men and kill us. But it will be him tying up loose ends.

He feels the power and the energy signature of the Royal Four through his dormant connection to his sister, Ava, he’d be concerned were trying to take back the throne.

He would send an army that even we couldn’t defeat. Earth would be screwed.”

“Is that what happen in the first timeline?”

Michael had to know, who cared that Future Max warned them he couldn’t share to much apparently his sister remember everything. He just wanted to know how the world ended.

“No, the force that he sent before was the one that hopefully we’ll get to face. Heck even a force twice that size we could take.

Last time it was just you, Max, and Isabel with the powers.

Kyle and Liz never focused or trained enough to be useful and on top of that you never discovered how to use the Granolith to its full potential because you never found me.”

Angry now Kyle yelled, “Well why the hell didn’t you come to us?”

Christina whispered, “I was dead.”

Shocked now Michael silenced Kyle with a glare as she continued.

“When Tess left Roswell she came to me. She wanted me to use the Granolith to bring back all your guys memories. Her memories were apparently distorted from Nasadeo.

She was desperate to have Zan’s love back for her and would do anything to get it, but after I refused she started to build up her fireball power blast.

With my own powers, I was able to turn it back on her, but I didn’t suspect Lonnie and Niko.

They came up behind me and finished me off with an energy blast.

It was Lonnie that killed me and I’ll be forever grateful for that because it allowed the location of the Granolith to remain a secret and future Max was able to come back and now here we are.

Our last chance to stop the end of the world. "

Part 10

Despite the fact that they were scattered throughout three different time zones darkness had fallen and all the Antarians settle in for the night.

Ava and Alex were hulled up in a small cabin in Idaho camping out for the night before heading off to Denver.

Serena and Spencer had decided to drive all night and were only a few hours away from the Illinois state line.

Kyle was sleeping on Christina’s coach as Michael had taken the guest room.

In a hotel near Atlanta Isabel was curled up on one bed as Max watched over her and Maria and Liz watched the muted TV from the other bed.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

In Isabel’s hand she held the worn out prom picture that held all of them happy and carefree, even Alex, poor sweet Alex.

As Isabel brushed a finger over his smile the picture wavered, Isabel was startled to say the least.

She didn’t have time to dwell on it she had to contact Kyle and try to find Ava.

Placing a finger on Kyle she immediately found herself in some strange Palace throne room,

“Kyle what the hell is this?”

“Oh Hey Vilandra, its about time you showed up.”

He starred at her for a second before shaking his head and calling out,

“Isabel? Is that really you? Oh thank Buddha. Don’t mind the dream. My thoughts are bound to be going crazy after the history lesson I had today.”

“Kyle you hate history?”

“Ha that’s what I said. Anyways... What’s the plan Isabel?”

“Oh right. Well after this I’m going to try and contact Ava. Then were going to find her we figured as long as she was on the mainland we could get to her tell her the situation and be back in the two weeks to meet you in Lincoln, Nebraska. How’s that sound?”

“Why Lincoln?”

“It was crazy Maria logic. She figured that you and Michael where in the land of Lincoln so we should head there too. Something like that I'm not sure the girl is impossible to understand especially when she is worried about Michael.

I think she really wanted to go to L.A. but that seems so far away from where every one is headed.”

“Isabel, Lincoln’s fine. Listen once we regroup Michael and I have a tale to tell you. We know what happened on Antar. Isabel its just so… I don’t even have the words for it. Will you contact me if anything changes? Maybe check in for updates every couple of days?”

“Yeah Kyle. Watch over Michael. And try not to get into too much trouble”

As she left his dream she heard him laughing at her.

She opened her eyes and saw Max starring at her.

“They’re fine. They also know the plan and they'll tell us a story once were all in Nebraska.”

Max just nodded and turned towards the TV as Isabel once again settled down this time in search of Ava.

Using the picture as a focal point and the connection Ava had with Max as a guideline it was only a few minutes before Isabel fell headlong into Ava’s dream.

They were in the swears and Ava was a small child hiding behind the pods a voice Isabel recognized but couldn’t place called out,

“Ava I thought we decided no more hiding.”

Isabel spun around looking for the owner of the voice. Little Ava looked at Isabel squinted her eyes for a moment in concentration then gasped.

Before her very eyes the girl changed into a young woman with longer blonde hair and purple streaks a difference that stopped Isabel from hating the girl because of what she looked like.

Isabel could also immediately feel the difference with Ava; she had a soul unlike Tess.

“Isabel I’m so glad you found me so soon! I’m sorry I was blocking you before, but we…um… I wasn’t ready yet for you to contact me.”

Isabel gave her a strange look but nodded her head in acceptance.

“Listen Ava I know I probably didn’t make a good impression on you when you were in Roswell and I have no right to ask you, but we need your help. Earth needs your help.”

Ava smiled,

“Isabel you don’t have to be so dramatic I know what’s going on Spencer and Serena keep me updated. Tomorrow I was going to head to Denver.”

“You know Serena! Never mind there's no time for that. Max, Liz, Maria, and I planned to meet Michael and Kyle in Nebraska in two weeks so we could head out to Denver to catch up with you first if you don’t mind?”

“Where are Michael and Kyle?”

“Chicago”

Ava’s blue eyes widen at the realization, “With Rae... I mean Christina?”

Isabel’s own eyes widened in return, but just as quickly turned into slits,

“YOU knew about her and didn’t say anything?!”

Ava shock her head to stop the temper of Vilandra from fostering.

“No not until I left Roswell. I swear. How about we meet in Laramie, Wyoming. That’s half way between Nebraska and where we are now.”

That was the second slip of the dream.

“WE? Whose we Ava?”

Isabel watched as the shorter girl paled for an instant before straighten out her shoulders and meeting her eyes head on.

“Isabel, I can’t tell you, it’s not my secret to tell. But Isabel I swear to you we can trust this person.”

Isabel frowned she knew those words, had heard them before, but that wasn’t exactly right. Isabel pushed the thoughts back as she looked again to the blue eyes identical to a girl who stole so much from all of them.

Suddenly wondering why they were going to trust the enemy’s sister.

Ava seemed to see this thought cross her face because almost instantly she answered,

“Don’t think it was only the Royals’ lives he destroyed Vilandra. You were never self-centered, now would be a horrible time to pick up the new habit.

He killed my friends, he killed my husband, and he killed my unborn child and me! Don’t think for an instant I feel anything for him other than how to destroy him so he can’t bring out any more suffering.”

Isabel looked down in shame she didn’t how much Ava too had suffered; she didn’t know there was a baby.

Poor Max would be devastated to learn he lost a child then too. Ava stopped Isabel mid-thought, “No Iz, look nobody knew about the baby. Well I think Raeanne did, but she knew everything. It’s… I put that behind me a long time ago okay?”

Isabel nodded, told Ava she would see her in Laramie and woke up back in the hotel room. She told the others about meeting Ava and some mysterious person in Laramie and then turned over to go to sleep thoroughly exhausted from the days events.

Max pulled the blanket up over Isabel and kissed her forehead.

He turned and saw Maria and Liz passed out on the other bed and headed towards the couch. Max sank into the cushions and closed his eyes.

Before all the worries of a worldly leader could cross his mind he was drifting off to dreamland.

Part 11

It was two days later that Michael heard a knock on the door over the sound of the TV in Christina’s living room. He went to answer the door since she was out and Kyle was wandering the streets of the city.

He opened the door to an exhausted looking pair.

“Can I help you?”

The woman whose eyes were previously downcast shot up at the voice. The man’s mouth dropped in surprise.

Serena leaped into Michael’s arms and hugged him for all she was worth.

“Rath! You’re really here! Oh God bless the Queen Mother your really here!”

Spencer couldn’t help, but laugh. Not only because of his sister’s behavior but the look of complete and utter horror reflected on the Second’s face.

“Rena I think you’ve frighten him.”

Michael came out of his stupor, “Rena? As in Serena?”

She nodded smiling at him like a kid on Christmas morning.

He turned to the man, “Then you’re Spencer?”

“Yep that’s me Spencer Royalton, quite the coincidence don’t you think?”

Michael went back to dumbly nodding his head.

A minute later Christina burst through the door laughing at some remark from Kyle who was a few steps behind her.

“Michael, tell me he didn’t really climb into a cave full of gandarium?!”

She stopped laughing and found Serena and Spencer smiling at her. She ran to hug them as if her life depended on it.

As if realizing her over emotional outburst she pulled back. “Everything settled then down in Texas?”

After their nods she went on. “Good, I was so worried you wouldn’t be back in time.

Oh allow me to… Serena and Spencer Royalton I’d like you to meet Michael Guerin formally know as Rath and Kyle Valenti, one of the only two advance humans on the planet.”

She smirked as Kyle blushed and everyone else laughed at his expense.

“Yeah well next time find some other planet to hide out on why don’t you?”

Kyle headed off to the couch to finish watching the rest of the game. He didn’t think he had enough control to stand so close to that exotic creature who had suddenly walked into the Alien Abyss.

He didn’t understand why he was so surprised all the woman aliens he’s met have been dangerously beautiful. Hell Maria and Liz were even gorgeous, but Serena she was… edible.

Kyle hoped Michael never got a hold of that thought surely he wouldn’t appreciate Kyle thinking of his cousin like that.

Oh no.

The caramel eyed beauty just sat herself down next to him what was he going to do.

She smiled at him, “You know… one of my powers is empathy. I can feel all those emotions washing over you.”

Kyle began to respond, but stopped suddenly as he turned redder than a stocking on the Christmas Nazi’s chimney.

Oh but heaven was not kind to Kyle that morning because she had one more comment to embarrass him completely.

Serena continued, “I’m glad you feel that way about me. I’ve been looking for you since a fair and just king ruled Antar. I think you know him as Max.”

Christina beamed as she watched these events unfold before her very eyes, filled with conviction that this time they really would be okay.

Spencer watched as his baby sister fell in love right before his very eyes. In that instant he missed Ava more than he thought possible.

Michael’s thoughts went quickly to a darker direction. He thought of his sister in everyway except blood.

Isabel had lost that. Her true love. Her one and only.

It wasn’t’ fair. Max had Liz, he had Maria and now Kyle had Serena apparently, but Isabel would never again have Alex.

Suddenly he thought back to a conversation they had almost a year after they left.

It was two years since Alex’s death and Maria was just in a horrible accident.

“Hey Michael.”

“What’s up Izzie?”

Isabel looked up at Michael knowing that he could help her both to figure something out that had been bothering her and move past it at the same time.

“You know when Max died and Liz was all the way in Vermont and she just knew. She felt the connection and part of Max’s soul that was in her heart ripped from her so violently?”

Having a feeling of where this was going Michael hesitantly nodded as he looked up to the stars.

“When Maria… did you feel it? I know she didn’t die, but it was close, too close. Did you feel her leaving you?”

Isabel turned to the stars as Michael glanced her way before answering her,

“It was like pulling off a band-aid unbearably slowly. The way Maria tells it with Liz it was like the snapping of a branch. Instantaneously broken, sharp pain at first, but that’s it. No more pain just empty space.
For as long as I live Isabel the feel of her being slowing pealed from my very soul will haunt me.”

Teary eye Isabel continued to look at the stars, searching for answers that had nothing to do with another planet.

“Michael, when it happened, I didn’t feel him… Valenti walked into the Crashdown and I had no idea anything at all had happened to him. I can, sometimes I can still feel him gracing my soul with his presences. Like he’s hiding or just out of reach.

Did I ever tell you I had dreams; right after he died he would come to me, and before we were suppose to leave. I figured it was part of my imagination trying to deal you know? But then when Jessie proposed that whole day Alex was around and the humor it was so Alex; I couldn’t have dreamed that up if I tried.”

Michael voiced what Isabel was too afraid to, “Iz you think he’s still out there… alive?”

“Michael every part of my being knows its true. I’ve never been more certain about anything in my entire life. Hell in either life.”

“So what do we do about it?”

Michael turned back to the sky waiting for Isabel’s answer. After a long time she pulled her gaze away from the stars and stared him dead in the eyes.

“Nothing” Michael watched as a little bit of Isabel’s light died in that instant.

“Nothing because just as sure as I am that he’s alive; I know he’s safe now from this life and I know I couldn’t bear it if I really did lose him for good.”

After that she walked away and they never discussed it again.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Isabel sighed as she turned back from the window to see Liz driving and Maria in the passenger seat. She felt bad for keeping such a huge secret form those two and she knew in a matter of days it was going to be blown right smack dap in front of all of them because she was certain who the mysterious person they were meeting with Ava.

Isabel was thrilled beyond belief. It was hard to stop herself from getting out of the car at every stop and twirling around while screaming at the top of her lungs, but a small part of her was horrified.

She was scared of what Liz and Maria’s reactions would be once they found out she knew, she was worried what his reaction would be that she knew and did nothing. Not only that but she got married!!

Granted she was now a widow, but none of that really mattered in a few days she would be seeing Alex.

Glancing at her sleeping brother she turned her over excited mind to the worries of her brother. He had been very withdrawn the past two days from all three of them.

Maria didn’t seem to notice and if Liz had noticed which Isabel was sure she had, she didn’t mention it. But Isabel was curious if Max was remembering more from their time on Antar.

If that was the case she could understand his silence; if not she sure as hell wanted to know what was so damn interesting to keep his attention for two whole days that even his dream girl couldn’t get his attention.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Max wondered if there would be enough time. If not he wondered if they would be able to win without their king.

Because Max was dying he was certain of it now.

The body of Clayton Wheeler was very old and he could feel the inside organs deteriorating. Each day he spent half of his energy healing his own body, making sure he would last one more day and making sure Liz didn’t notice the decaying.

He knew he would have to tell the others soon. Not because he wanted to, but because soon he wouldn’t be able to heal himself and he didn’t want to be a burden to them all when they had a war to win.

Max sighed as he tried to relax against the cold glass window. He would tell them all in Nebraska.

Tell them that they had to fight a war without their king;

that they had to protect each other without the healer;

that they had to go on living their lives without Max Evans reincarnated alien king from Roswell, New Mexico.

Part 12

Alex and Ava were the first to arrive in Laramie. It was just after dawn as they entered the city.

They decided that they would rent a hotel for the time being, unsure how long they would actually being spending in Laramie.

Ava immediately crashed on one of the two beds, but Alex was too full of energy to rest. It would only be a few more hours and then he would see his girls. He would be reunited with his whole family.

He shook his head to clear his thoughts and told Ava he was going out for a walk to get the lay of the area.

Ava knowing he would be gone a while said, “Bring some lunch on your way back here.”

Alex nodded and quietly shut the door on his way out. The hotel was out of the way, a few miles from downtown, but Alex decided he needed to walk to get some organization in his thoughts.

He first wonder what the others would think when they found out he had some powers. Sure they weren’t as strong as Liz or Kyle’s at least he’d gathered that much from what Ava knew, but he did have that neat deflection shield thing.

It was smaller then the shield Max had, but instead of just absorbing energy or stopping bullets it sent the offending object back towards the person or in some cases alien.

He could also reconfigure the molecular structure of things such as colors or sizes. He wasn’t so great at that and it took a lot of concentration, but he and Ava had worked hard on his deflection shield so he was a pro at it.

Alex was walking by some store windows when the glare caught his eye. He turned to see a homey looking jewelry store.

Despite the will power Alex thought he had, he was helpless as he found he feet leading him into the store and over to the counter that held the most gorgeous rings he’d ever seen.

Worthy enough for a princess, even the Ice Queen herself.

He knew Isabel had been married and that she recently had just lost her traitor of a husband, but none of these thoughts stopped Alex from pulling out his wallet once he glimpsed the small silver ring.

The diamond it self was heart shaped and was glittering with beauty, but it was the two stars carved into the silver band that made the ring simply irresistible to Alex.

As he walked out of the store putting the blue velvet case into his pocket, he wasn’t worried if it might have to stay there for a little while.

He knew how he felt and as long as he had something to say about it; he would never again voluntarily be separated from his Isabel.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Michael didn’t understand why they had to practice at the hottest time during the day. He sent another blast towards Serena only to have that one too absorbed into her shield.

Earlier while the others where busy it was only him and Kyle training. Kyle was working on his aim with his mini blasts. He would throw them at Michael and Michael would use his telekinesis to send them away from him and occasionally towards a different target.

It was when Serena and Spencer showed up in mid afternoon that the training session got pretty serious.

Now he was the one building up power-blasts, one after another trying to make each one stronger then the last and keep control of it. He would aim for Serena who would protect herself with her shield.

The beauty of Serena’s red shield awed Michael; each time it was hit waves of pink would travel through it. He could see that the stronger his blasts the longer the waves lasted.

It was only now 30 minutes into the group training that he could see Serena started to sweat from concentrating so hard on maintaining her shield. When Spencer showed up Kyle and him decided to work on Kyle’s shimmering ability so Spencer would aim a low powered laser beam towards Kyle and he would have to shimmer out of harms way.

Sometimes Kyle would just have to shimmer to escape other times he had to avoid certain locations otherwise Spencer would send another quick laser beam before Kyle could regain his bearings.

Michael was impressed with Kyle’s progression. It had taken him a whole summer with Tess to gain that kind of focus. He guessed Buddha really did pay off.

Kyle panted as he shimmered in a few feet next to Michael.

“I need a break I demand that we have lunch now!”

Michael chuckled softly, never one to pass up food he agreed on a break to have lunch.

It was while they were in Christina’s kitchen making sandwiches laughing around and discussing what else they could try out this afternoon that Christina barged into the door with a huff.

“Arrgghh. Stupid work. Damn customers are so damn frustrating…oh Hi Guys how’s your day been?”

Since everyone else had his or her mouth’s full Michael answered the question.

“Pretty good we’ve been out in the backyard practicing all day with out powers. We just came in for some food and try to think of what else we could try out.”

Christina glanced at Serena and Spencer knowing her next question would shock them.

“So has Serena and Spencer showed you guys how to combine energy.”

She was right as Christina looked back to Serena who was choking on her soda and Spencer who had gone all bugged eyed.

“Christina, are you sure that’s a good idea? You’re always warning us not to share powers because it could let loose the connections and get back to Khivar. And besides now that we know he‘s sending his army sometime within the next year, do you really want to shorten that timetable?”

Christina sighed as she tried to explain herself.

“No. I know it’s a big risk but I think we’re all going to have to start working with it. By this point we all have a good understanding and control over our own gifts, but its sharing energy and borrowing each other’s powers that will be our weak spot if we don’t practice it.

Besides Kyle and Michael can only share energy. Only siblings and mates can share powers.

I think practicing the sharing of energy between those who don’t have a strong connection will be fine. They are just an enhancement of ones inherent gifts so it shouldn’t be enough to alert our enemies.”

Kyle looked thoroughly confused at this point and Michael just said, “Huh?”

Christina reached up and scratched her eyebrows and Michael smirked.

She caught this and just rolled her eyes at her older brother.

“Okay since the two of you don’t share any type of connection it wouldn’t be noticeable to Khivar if you formed a small connection in order to share energy. Plus the fact that Khivar could never really get anything strong from Rath is a bonus.

In the same sense Maria could lend Michael energy sense she’s human. And since Liz and Max are already bonded as are Alex and Isabel they would be able to use each others energy or share powers.

We just have to make sure that the Antarian Royals, including Ava don’t form a connection to combine strengths. If even one set of siblings or previous mates reestablished their connections from Antar the rest would be harder to prevent and Khivar would sense the shift in the energy pattern.”

“The connection you share with Max and Isabel are dormant right now, Michael. You can feel them because of the left over bonds of Antar. You aren’t actually fully connected to them yet in this life. Today it would be best if Serena and Kyle connected and say Spencer and Michael. That way we can work on the super shield and you two can aim the laser power-blast at them. If the shield weakens, Kyle can shimmer Serena and himself out of harms way. Kyle you should be working on shimmer others too anyways.”

She stopped short as she finally noticed the looks Kyle and Michael were giving her.

“What?”

Kyle slowly started to explain or at least question Christina.

“Ah Alex is... Tess killed Alex three years ago and besides I don’t think he and Izzie ever really got that close to have a connection. He was gone so soon after prom.“

At this point Christina look thoroughly horrified mostly at that fact that she had allowed herself to get caught up in the history of Antar and their past lives that she hadn’t told them that Alex was alive and safe for the time being with Ava.

“Oh my, Michael, Kyle I’m so sorry I should have told you this so much sooner, but Alex is, he’s fine. He’s with Ava right now. The other’s are headed to her right?”

Without waiting for an answer she rushed on, “Soon they’ll all know and you’ll all be together again. How it should be. But we still need to practice now. Okay?”

Kyle and Michael were blown away by this news but they still headed out to the backyard to discover what they were really capable of.
