<center>ACT I: Intro</center>

An aged old cavern, located high atop the Fire Crystal Mountain range, an forbidden locale, inhibited by few, locals refer to as Demons Fortress is the setting of our first act. Nature has unleashed a ferrous storm, battling the elements and ripping the heaven with fire, disemboweling the land with each clap of thunder. Our play opens up with three witches, ancient in their own right, powerful beings of darkness, each dominant over those elements in the soul which are bombarded on a daily base to stray into those waters of darkness, the evil path from which many never recover.

Our witches are not those of the fairy tales, those old haggard she-devils who cast spells and turn princes into toads, but demonic beings, brought up from hell itself during the formation of life, their very essence has existed since time immortal, eternal in their forthright. Apate the a master in the art of deceit, Erins the ultimate personification of discord, while the last, but surely not the least in this demonic trio is Hubris for she represents the lack of self-control.

ACT I: Scene I
</center>

Apate
Why have we been summoned here like some chattel to be used and bartered with?

Erins
He has promised to pay us well, payment in mortal souls, that which we desire and seek, is it not?

Hubris
He says that, but what proof do we have? His tongue marinating in a jar upon the shelf? His liver drying in the sun, nay naught nary a leaf, his word, hast been cast forth from his foul stagnant breath, his word but bile thou cast onto the floor.

Apate
We do not the bidding of such a lowery creature as he, what power doth he over us? What doth he possess for us to stand and take notice?

Erins
The souls Apate, our need is great, the larder is almost empty, we need fresh souls to nurture us, to replenish our ....

Apate
Shush Erins, thy soundth like a feeble minded old hag. Hast thou lost thy gifts? Souls are not hard to find. I will prove that to thee.

Hubris
Wait, where thou goest, my sister we are here to meet Ki’var, do not leave us to banter amongst ourselves. We need you, the third force, to cast the spell of confusion, to place the odds in our favor.

Apate
I shall return sister, with a soul for thee.

Erins
I fear the time will grow short, his specter will darken our doorway before our sister returnth.

Hubris
Aye, come let us prepare a spell to enchant the room, to bend this Ki'var to our ways, not us to his.

Both
Invocavi obtestor (We invoke the witness)
Cooriorortus (Come forth)
Aspiro anima (We infuse the breath)
Cooriorortus (Come forth)
Quod perisse vide (What lost is seen)
Imperiumi obtemperationis (We command obedience)
Cedo fas opuseris (It is done)

<center>ACT I: Scene II</center>

Erins
At last thou hast returned my sister.

Hubris
Where hast thou been?

Apate
Why sister, I have been gathering sustance for you, a soul, young and fresh.

Hubris
A soul where is it my sister? Let me suckle on it’s essence.

Apate
Hey my beloved sister refresh yourself, here with in this glowing orb, I gave gathered the essence of a young healthy virile man. Bring him into your body feel the power radiating outwards through your breast, out to your limb s and down the spine. Renew the muscles, sinews, the bones with his vitality as if effuses your veins with new lifeblood.

Hubris
Show me, show me, let me feel again.

Apate
Is the soul to thy liking my sister?

Hubris
Yes, the taste is divine, ambrosia to my tongue.

Erins
And what of me, do not I get a small drop to quench the burning inside me.

Hubris
Share my sister; share in this abundance, this wine, this elixir of life.

Apate
No need to share my sisters, I brought thee one too Erins, drink.

Erins
Thou art kind.

Hubris
How did thy acquire these souls, sister?

Apate
With bewitchment,, I beguiled them, men are such fools in the hands of a seductress such as I. Drunk from the ale, they hath at the tavern, they were easy prey. A simple charm, an illusion of beauty that none hath seen before. They arose to the enchantment that I did cast, with promise of ecstasy that men only dream in wild toss filled nights.

Erins
How were they my sister? Before their deaths did, you take pleasure in their bodies?

Apate
Aye, and bodies, that thy have not seen in many a yarn. Hard lean muscle, strong powerful backs, they were male in all the sense of that word. Aye it was pleasurable, not once, not twice, but thrice I did take my pleasure. Unfortunately, time grew late and they had to die.

Hubris
Listen, doth do I hear beat heralding his arrival.

Erins
Aye it is so. Come the spell must be cast to bind him to us.

All
In this place, In this time
Woe to visitor who cross
Our threshold, our domain as such
Let his mind be clouded
Let his senses be dulled
Let us control the thoughts
That enter and leave his mind
So it shall be done.
So it will be will be done.

<center>ACT I: Scene III</center>

Nicholas
So foul a stench, the air reeks, I cannot enter

Ki’var
Thy will do as I bid Nicholas; for I am thy master do that for get that. Thy will regret thy tongue.

Nicholas
True Master, I am at your beckon call but why have thou come to these witches. Look at them, haggard of beings, dressed in scraps of cloth and animal, wild in manner and appearance. Their teeth are yellowed fangs, sharpened to gnaw on the flesh stripping it from the bones of their victims. Why does thou come here to these aliens, things like these do not inhabit our world. They are death itself, demons from long ago, left here to rot.

Ki’var
True, they appear more animal than human. But it is their powers I seek, I need the potion, and they are said to hold the key. What they look like is of no concern to me, but I question whether they can speak, for it is their words I need.

Nicholas
You there, witches of old, are you able to speak, to let forth your voice.

Ki’var
Look, they seem to understand what we are saying yet they stare at us. Their lips drawn tight, their skin so pallor, the moon in completion is darker.

Nicholas
If you understand our tongue, they speak, do so,

Apate
We welcome you Lord Ki’var to our humble home

Erins
Yes, we welcome you.

Hubris
As my sisters hath said, we welcome you thrice by three.

Ki’var
My witches, ancients of old, I greet you with royal reverence, I acknowledge your skill, I seek your gracious state. For I hath come to gain your favors, neither to beg nor to fear, but to barter, in that commodity that you take pleasure in.

Hubris
We welcome you King of time yet to come

Erins
Time not to distance

Apate
Time we see, time you bear.

Nicholas
Master what is it that they say, King of where, what do they see?

Apate
Ki’var all will hail thee; all will bow down in your shadows. Nicholas you stand second, yet we see thee on another world, watery world far distance.

Nicholas
Speak you she demons, foul stench in the night. What are you speaking of.

Ki’var
Quiet! Ancient ones I come to seek thy favor in exchange for suls. Do you wish to deal, or are your stocked with so many fresh souls you do not need more.

Apate
You seek our charms, our potions to bind, do you not? You see the power to control royal, powerful beings the royals, not easily fooled. It will take a strong spell, old magic must be used, much preparation for such a task.

Nicholas
They are crafty Master they wish more

Ki’var
I will double the amount of souls, but you must make the potion quickly. I need it ready for the ball this coming night of the dead.

Hubris
Double the souls, sisters let us speak in silence

Ki’var
Answer me now I have no time for games of three old crones.

Erins
Who is thy target? Who do you want bound to you?

Apate
Yes tell us who thy victim is?

Ki’var
The Royal Princess Vilandra, I want her bound to me.

Apate
Aww your prize is high Ki’var. She is betrothed to marry by the rising of the second full month the warrior Rath.

Nicholas
That is why it must be done now; the second full moon is upon us.

Erins
The moon of death, the moon of revolution. Sisters do you see, the future at hand,

Apate
Yes, let us fly sisters, seek out this princess, feel her power, her weakness.

Nicholas
What is this, you three can transform? You are of those that serve us, we have come to servants to barter with, you must obey us with question, without reward.

Ki’var
Nay Nicholas, they are ancient they have no corporal body; they take that shape which suits them. Aye and now the shape of three young maidens, pleasant to the eye will please the guards; beguile them, as they make way to the princess.

Apate
You will have our answer with the daylight hours. Come my sisters let us take our leave. Let us change the course of history. It pleases us to upset the minds, to confuse, to enjoy the effects of war.

<center> ACT II: Intro</center>

Ancient decaying trees, distorted with age, disease, evil in design and purpose still towered about the two figures, their braches creating a vast canopy blocking out the sky above, making the early dawn hours darker than in reality. Act II begins amidst these elaborate twisted gnarled trunks, where natural magic first appeared, here in the Forest of Evil Incarnate, as the two figures await the arrival of the witches, to bring them news.

Our players have swollen to include Ki’var a wicked deceitful creature, whose shallow grey eyes are on the throne of Antar. Nicholas, his ever present right hand man, who views Ki’var through an apostle’s warped mind. They are yet to be joined by three more vile henchmen: Harathan, a solider who has effectively and efficiently climbed through ranks to become the head of security for Rath; Larek, a false friend who has infiltrated the every place itself and skillfully maneuvered his way into the king’s confidence. And the last in the trio of evil henchmen is Lethos, a commoner, a servant within the place, one who has access to the food prepared for the Princess Vilandra herself. The last player to be added to the mixture is the Lady Ava, a pawn in the game, yet a willing pawn to due the bidding of Ki’var.

<center> The curtain rises
Act II begins
</center>

<center>ACT II: Scene I</center>

Ki’var
Damn these inferno beings, must I be kept waiting

Nicholas
They know not of your greatest, my master.

Ki’var
If they value their place on Antar after what is to come, they will obey me.

Nicholas
You shall be king.

Ki’var
By right of royal birth, my children shall be kings and rule Antar for generations.

Nicholas
I hear footsteps coming this way. Who's here?

Ki’var
It is that of Harathan and Lethos

Nicholas
And of what do you two have to report

Harathan
My master, the king was happy to receive his gift you arranged through Larek, the bride of beauty has confused the royal senses, his heart is twisted, the member engorged for her. The king no longer worries nor cares for matters of the state, instead he luxuriates in her bed, beguiled by her cunning and fragrance.

Lethos
We were sent to give you great tidings, to pay homage to thee, our next King to be.

Nicholas
You Haranthan, has thy place within the palace still secure. Do you guard the royal personage of Rath, his door as we speak.

Harathan
Yes, he doth bid me that honor, to guard the doors, both public and private, of the royal bed chambers of both he and the Princess Vilandra. I know the codes, for I have watched and listened, the information is thine.

Nicholas
Good, that is what I longed to hear. Ki’var I ask only from you to bury my blade inside the chest if Rath, to end his heart from beating.

Ki’var
If that is all you wish Nicholas, it shall be granted. Quiet now, for the witches doth approach. Stay here Harathan and Lethos and await me, your jobs have just begun. Nicholas, come.

Nicholas
Yes my master.

<center>ACT II: Scene II</center>

Ki’var
You bring us news, you three witches of old.

Apate
Aye, the greatest one we behold.

Erins
The king we behold

Hubris
The supplier of souls we behold

Ki’var
Speak do not keep me waiting

Apate
My sisters and I find pleasure in thy plans. Here is a vial. Just four drops, sprinkle a mere four drops in each of her meals, then on the night of the ball be sure to touch her skin, thy will easily enter her mind at that point.

Hubris
You must touch her flesh, within two hours from the last drops.

Erins
Fail to touch, fail to control.

Nicholas
Do we trust these instruments of darkness Ki’var?
A vial? What the hell is that? Is that all?
A simple potion, a touch that is all it will take to control.
Made from what the guts of a black cat.
Master, a word, I pray you.

Ki’var
They speak the truth, it is an old spell
One forged in hell itself
To touch the flesh is to touch the heart
Already singed and burned with hate and lust

Apate
You doubt us Nicholas, you foolish mortal

Erins
Thy master you have no faith in?

Hubris
Whom will you side with the end?

Nicholas
Do you trio dare to tell me who and whom not side with. Ki’var is my master, my lord I shalt never turn against him. My lord, do not listen to such rubbish, to such lies spoken through the list of monsters.

Ki’var
If chances be I shalt be crowned king
Where do thy stand Nicolas
With me not the Royalty

Nicholas
Ki'var I stand at your side
I stand at your feet

Ki’var
So say you now
But what in the darkness hours
That is what we shall see

Nicholas
I give thy my pledge

Ki’var
Let us speak no more this now and return to our companions so that they may begin the slow indoctrination of my soon to be wife.

Nicholas
Yes Master.

Ki’var
To you dear witches we bid adieu and thank thee for their elixir of death. To you the spools of war shalt be cast.

Apate
It was our pleasure dear King to be, and nothing else.

Erins
We bid you farewell.

Hubris
And leave thy to make preparations for coming events.

Ki’var
Lethos as it is commanded sprinkle 4 drops on the food of the Princess Vilandra, do it at each meal from now till the night of the dead. Upon the night of the ball sprinkle, this into her food or drink no more than 2 hours after I hath arrived.

Lethos
My league I shalt due thy bidding. This bears a heavy weight upon my shoulders; the eyes at the palace bear down heavily

Ki’var
You will be will compensated for your time and for your loyalty.

Lethos
I yield my life to our future king.

Ki’var
Harathan to you I need a distraction, puzzlement to him, the warrior Rath, to lead him astray that night. To lead him out of the way, to confuse his mind and purplex his thoughts.

Harathan
Aye it shalt be done

Ki’var
Then let us be away till that fateful night
When the doors are opened,
When time itself shall stand still.
Tie time of the ending

Nicholas
The time of a new king, my lord.

<center>ACT II: Scene III</center>

<center>The scene opens on a hill overlooking Dimaras Rock, Antar as Larek approaches Ki’var and Nicholas. </center>

Ki’var
Welcome Larek, my gardener, my cultivator, has the seed been planted?

Larek
To you I owe my services and loyalties, to you Antar’s future King
Aye I have begun to plant thy seed; I shall labor to see it sprout and take root.

Nicholas
The object of your interest now approaches my Lords, the Lady Ava herself.

Ki’var
My dearest love I bid thy welcome, your sight is a beauty that I may behold.

Lady Ava
My Lord Ki’var as always I welcome thy friendship.

Larek
Did you find pleasure in the King’s disposition, my Lady?

Lady Ava
Aye yes, I found him to be very charming; he found pleasure in mine eyes. It is clear, I find favor in this task, I shall execute it with extreme delight. Leave it to me, my dear Lord Ki’var.
Ki’var
I find delight in thy words Lady Ava. What comes now a messenger from the King himself? An invitation to the Night of the Dead Ball I would surmise.

Lady Ava
Aye and he writes with such eloquence, his heart is already enraptured. The spell thy taught me, powerful potions against such a weak heart. He is not guarded like his second Rath, his is open, easy to infiltrate.

Larek
Read us of thy letter Lady Ava. Let us hear the words of our king in love.

Nicholas
Yes do so, it pleases us to hear.

Lady Ava
So be it, thy seek entertainment. The letter speaks of a time long ago when men wrote flowering verses.

Ki’var
Come on, do not keep us waiting.

Lady Ava
My Lady Ave, whose face the sun may never set upon, thy beauty beguiles time, freezing it into place. Thy eyes, so innocent, so youthful, look upon a man already old with the burden of state, a man who has found favor in thy speech of honey, in thy tongue of an angel. I beseech thee to accompany me to the Night of the Dead Ball as my escort for the evening.

Ki’var
Well done Ava, of course thy shall attend.

Lady Ava
Of course, my dear kinsman, I shall attend.

Ki’var
What a fool, our King this Zan. He comes so easily to a woman’s breast.

Larek
Aye the palace has an air of desperation, the King needs to bed a wife; an heir is due.

Nicholas
Our honored hostess then shalt you be, the Lady Ava, favored in his eyes. I thank thee for they trouble, for to bed the King is a painful act indeed.

Lady Ava
It is our service to Lord Ki’var, to him I owe my allegiance, my body, my mind, my soul. It is to him that the Kings blood shalt be spilt, by my own hand, on our wedding night.

Larek
Aye the plan is flawless, in the throws of lust his own blade trusted between his shoulders.

Nicholas
Aye while his own shaft will be embedded in you, my Lady.

Lady Ava
You Nicholas are crass and crude

Nicholas
Why because I speak the truth of thy plan. Why do thy distress thyself, my dear Lady Ava. For in the drink, you can claim he was so, so that your virtue may remain in tat. But aye you will see the royal personage many times before that wedding night, intimacy with his blade, his shaft, what to be you excuse then, my lady. You are but an ornament on his sleeve, a possession to be used.

Lady Ava
Why, thy tongue should be cut....

Ki’var
We will proceed no further in this matter; Lady Ava will do as I command her, to give her body to the man or men of my choosing. Thy will not be cast off my lady, but thy shall be a jewel in my crown.

Lady Ava
What is this deed offered to me? A task that only a woman may accomplish. What if I were a man, would you treat me so, nay I dare say not. And what of time and place, when I take his dead member out of my body and my nipple from betwixt his teeth, then where shall they be my lord Ki’var

Ki’var
My lady, I plan to be there, to bed you to finish the job our dead King could not. To anoint you as Queen with my seed, the heir apparent, my son he will be. Aye those in the palace will believe that he was brought to life movements before your poor husband died. None will know the difference, except us.

Lady Ava
If we should fail?

Ki’var
Fail? That is not an option. We cannot fail, thy neck is on the line, do you wish to fail Ava, what will the King do, let alone Rath if we are to be discovered. Nay we must not fail.

Lady Ava
Aye you speak the truth. We must not fail, thy words are sharp but I rather hear them than feel Rath’s cold blade in my heart.

Ki’var
Look there take note, Lethos and Harathan approach, take your leave now my Lady. Later we shall speak further.

Lady Ava
With my Lord’s permission, I shall retire for the evening to my rooms.

Ki’var
Lethos and Harathan I welcome thee into

Ki’var
I command you both to go forth and gather male children, souls to pay off the witches for their potion. Marked them with the death mark and deliver them to the cave.

Lethos
Aye my Lord it shall be done.

Harathan
We shall mark them wit the blood of the death daggers, with the blood of sleep.

Ki’var
Then be off and make thy delivery

Lethos
With your leave my lord.

Harathan
My Lord

Nicholas
We shall clamor and roar up the death of the King and Second.
And bend our knees to thee Ki’var

Ki’var
Until that hour, the hour of their death, false faces we must present to the outside world. We cannot fail, out hearts must not show the truth, but falsehoods.

Prince Rath
Why does doth face look perplexed Zan?
What evil lays heavy upon your heart this morn
A love torn from your grasp to early for thine comfort.

King Zan
I fear the hour Rath,
Strange dreams I have dreamt this night
Dreams of blood of failure, disturbing images

Prince Rath
Zan why do thy talk of such rubbish
There is no such destiny in thy future
You are the King on the verge of a glorious rebirth
Take pleasure in that, revile in glory that is to be yours

King Zan
Tis unnatural these dreams that I dreamt
My heart tis black, sadness reigned
Death, our deaths I did see

Prince Rath
Worry yourself no more, there State affairs await you
Tonight a lovely woman will adorn your arm and dare I say your bed

King Zan
Aye the enchanting Lady Ava
I do see her in my bed before the eve is done.
If not her, I will find a wrench willing.
True state affairs do await me; I shall see you this eve Rath.

Prince Rath
Aye! You will. Till then, Zan take your heart to light.

[exit the King as Haranthan enter]

Harathan
My prince I hope the morn has found you well

Prince Rath
Harathan, thy will fortify the grounds for this eve.
Check for any anything that seems out of the ordinary.
The guards tonight are to be double.
The King and the Princess Vilandra are to be heavily guarded.
At no time are they to be left alone
None shall approach or touch them.
Understand thy orders?

Harathan
It will be done my lord. By your leave.

[exit Rath and Harathan .. hours later it is evening .. reenter Rath]

Princess Vilandra
My Lord, there are thou. Why have you concealed yourself from me?
Your clothes still reek of the days labor, dirty and unkempt are thee.

Prince Rath
Vilandra, my lady I have work, I do not have the luxury to worried about how I appear.

Princess Vilandra
My Lord, you bring shame upon the Throne and thy King, dressed in filth.
Have thy no regard for your position?

Prince Rath
Apologies to thee, my lady, I seek thy leave
I shall return dressed to thy pleasure.

[enter servants with food etc.. one is Lethos with a special glass with the potion in it for Vilandra, he approaches her]

Lethos
My lady may I offer you refreshment?

[takes glass an drinks it]

Princess Vilandra
Be sure al is readied for this eve.
I take my leave good sir.

[exit Vilandra ... Ki'var enters with Nicholas]

Ki’var
How goes the plans, have thy prepared all.

Nicholas
Take hold of thy sword my lord, there is death in the air tonight.

Ki’var
My heart rejoices they shall die tonight.

Nicholas
The dagger is placed against their hearts
It takes but a small push to drive it deep.

Ki’var
They are but minions of their race, nothing
Let them all die, let the war with the royals commence.
The ground calls out for their blood.

Nicholas
The rumors have spread fully and to all parts of the world

Ki’var
And what doth the people say?

Nicholas
'Tis said in the villagers that they shall eat one another,
The royals have lost face.

[enter Harathan]

Harathan
How is my lord this fine night of death and blood?

Ki’var
That would depend. Are preparations made to keep Prince Rath away?

Harathan
Aye my lord.
Death is eminent.

Ki’var
Then all is well.

Nicholas
Alas the day has come.
Those to die, Ki'var will slay.

Ki’var
My dagger is set before thee
Let the business that is blood unfold
Let evil run rampant in the streets to confuse and terrorize the people
They will not know till I wear the crown that Zan is dead summoned to hell

[King Zan and Prince Rath on balcony overlooking guests arriving]

King Zan
A great beauty appears there in the mist below us.

Prince Rath
Appearing out of the mist? Thy do not believe in apparitions do thy?

King Zan
Visions yes, I have seen such a vision enter my courtyard.

Prince Rath
That is not an apparatus my dear King
But your desire arising to meet his pleasure tonight
Well then, now consider my speech.
To be lead by your desires will be your death
Remember that my King, it is the past that binds you
It is the future that frees you, for what I dare not say.

King Zan
Thy are crass someday, speak so common
It is under good fortune, the sages have foretold
This innocent was made for my pleasure, my throne

Prince Rath
Crass? Aye that I am
Pleasure I do seek, enjoyment I release, yet vigilant I remain
Crass yes, but the yearning of the flesh, that kills often a man
Doth overlooks such a minor flaw

King Zan
Rath, I pray you be thy king one day, in the ways of love
Let this night be a remembrance of love to come
Presented with both eye and tongue

Prince Rath
It my be memory that your eye and tongue seek
But it is the flesh that memory lives
Pleasurement for both, for all, for none if be traitor

King Zan
Thy is hopeless, my dearest Rath
Stay here and dream of pleasure
I go to experience my future Queen

[King Zan leaves.... Harathan enters]

Harathan
My Lord I must speak urgently with you

Prince Rath
Why? What has happened?

Harathan
An uprising my lord, just a few leagues to the east of us.
The guards have sent word of a thousand times thousand men
Not of our people, they come from far off

Prince Rath
Why was I not notified when they entered our lands?

Harathan
Thy guards were fooled, they concealed themselves
Clever these are: disguising what they are.

Prince Rath
Call forth a war chamber, for all must be confirmed
Fetch my armor, tonight we may fight, blood I smell in the air
A battle commences, let us fight brave and true.
The flesh will fall from our bones before we finish.

Harathan
Do I notify the King?

Prince Rath
Not I shall do that. Secure the general and reports with the hour.
Make forth the trumpets, call to arms be heard
Give our voice upon the air tonight
Those that seek blood and death shall not be disappointed

Harathan
Aye my Lord

[Harathan leaves Princess Vilandra enter scene]

Princess Vilandra
My Lord you seem trouble?
What has thy heard

Prince Rath
Nothing my dear Vilandra, my heart is clear

Princess Vilandra
Nay, your heart is not clear, afflictions I see
Terrible dreams, of blood and battle
Those that shake me nightly with fear in my heart
That you re but dead, on some far distant shore
Have we no right to peace?

Prince Rath
My wise one, always the observant eye have thy?
I am a warrior, pray you be still
You bring bad omens with such talk, such foolery
Replace their mind with mirth and joy
Thy heart should sing of love at my return
I will be absent for a mere second, carry on without me
Thy is the hostess, the beauty for the night

Princess Vilandra
What has happened, I beseech thee to tell me.

Prince Rath
Tis safer for us to dwell with suspicion
Than to die in ignorance
Graves are full of scorpions, the dead do not awake
Aye I fear I have worried you unnecessarily
Fear not my Lady, it is nothing but rumors

Princess Vilandra
Aye, and rumors may be truth

Prince Rath
Worry not, of such trivia, thou is a woman
I smile at swords be they brandished to me
Our wedding night comes within the fortnight
Let that bemuse your mind, delude your senses
My bed awaits thee

Princess Vilandra
You a cad sir!

Prince Rath
Aye that seems to be the common thread this eve
Chad and crass may be, but pleasure you seek
My bed awaits thee, this eve, for my love
For now I must say adieu, my lady
This eve I await you

[just outside the ballroom in the main hall]

Larek
Give me thy hand
Let me guide you to your destiny, your future as Queen

Lady Ava
I thank thee Lord Larek
You do so not out of kindness but for reward

Larek
Aye, and my reward is great
Remember my dear Lady
Side with Ki’var and live: Against and die

Lady Ava
I am aware of my place Lord Larek
I will do as I was instructed
The throne I have my eyes upon
Power I seek, not the sexual pleasures of Zan

Larek
Hold thy tongue woman
Prepare thy mind innocent of the knowledge
See who approaches

[enter King Zan]

King Zan
Larek, my Lady Ava
Thy are both welcomed; I bid thee a most hearty welcome
The humble host I shalt play, the hostess will shine
Tis her that shall welcome, both mortal and divine

Larek
My Lord King, I have found this delicate creature
Wandering the great mist, to fair to let be guide alone
My King to your hands I do entrust this gentle woman

King Zan
I accept with pleasure

Lady Ava
My Lord, it is with great pleasure I am here tonight
To serve my lord as the hostess, by you side
For tonight, your guests shall revel in
Jovial deeds, bright thoughts, and merriment unbounded.
My heart speaks, for all are welcomed here tonight.

Lethos
I take my leave my Lord, my Lady

[the three witches disguised as young maidens are talking among themselves to the side as they watch the events unfold]

Apate
Aye she shall die also, a black cat doth cross her path
Let the framework of his plan become disjointed.
Let his world suffer as great as theirs

Erins
Death, but was not she promised to Ki'var.

Hubris
Aye, the souls, our food, he will renounce us

Apate
I have come to reason, time to decide
To trade souls with Ki'var, how dare he?
He tried to play us, games he sought
The price he will pay, no king be he

Erins
Spiteful you are my sister, cunning and sly
He loves himself in the end, that is what you seek to destroy
Not his love, she means nothing to him

Hubris
Look my sisters the deed is done
She hath is his, the touch he gave, the spell works

Apate
Our spells have been cast forth this eve
The air takes on our breath, our voices
To the fatal end, we say have the last word
Great is our need, souls we will have
Aye it is the shadow of the 3rd moon
Our séance is held, distilled by magical sights
It is the strength f our illusion, doth it not lie?
He shall raw Ki'var into an illusion
His mind over come with confusion and lies
He will not know what the hell hath happened.

Erins
Aye there goes man, in all his finery, a proud bird
Haughtily he does brisk about, immortal he thinks
Soon like a dog, soon he will coward, aye they are like dogs

Hubris
We shall commend pain upon those mortal
Every one soon to be our food, their souls we gain
Let the cauldron sing, let the fires burn
It is done, time goes forth

Apate
Come my sisters like shadows we shall depart
Let their eyes show death

[guards outside the main hallway]

1st guard
Are thy sure of what speech you are saying, the words are daring, your life may hang in balance?

2nd guard
Aye I have seen her with mine own eyes walking to the formal gardens, floating like an apparition in the wind

1st guard
Aye you have seen her, but what of the man, did you see him?

2nd guard
A shadowed figure waited for her and followed her into the gardens.
She did not run but went willingly.

1st guard
Aye then it was Prince Rath.

2nd guard
Nay, look there through the windows, he is standing there with the King, nay it was not him.

1st guard
What you speak of may be seen as treason, for there is no act that you have seen, he could be her guard sent by the Prince himself.
To accuse her with cause will be thy death.

2nd guard
But what is her life is in danger?

1st guard
Did she flinch, coward at going with him?
No, and considering he was waiting, hooded like a warrior and then followed her, he was but a guard of the Prince’s, one of the special forces.

2nd guard
Aye thy are right, if I say anything to smudge her reputation the Prince will have my head, he has no toleration for falsehoods.

[in the garden near a gazebo two figures are concealed in darkness]

Ki’var
You will d as I say, I own your soul
Do you understand?

Princess Vilandra
Yes my Master

Ki’var
Whom do you love?

Princess Vilandra
You My Master

Ki’var
And of Prince Rath?

Princess Vilandra
He must die my master.

Ki’var
Good, you shall watch him die
For you I shall die him slowly
Does that please you?

Princess Vilandra
Yes my Master

Ki’var
That pleases me, his death, his torture
I shall take thy womanhood,
It is mine to do as I please
Aye he shall watch, his wife, his enemy
My manhood in you pounding you in pleasure
You will scream my name, pleading with me to take you again
Does thy wish to worship me?
To honor my sexual appetite.

Princess Vilandra
Yes my Master
I desire your manhood, to feel you inside
I desire to be your servant, to do as you command

Ki’var
You learn well, no servant, but slave
You are nothing to me, but a path to the throne
Kneel before me and show thy pleasure
For thy is my chattel, my property
My spoil of war

[In front of the Palace, an hour has passed, the palace guards are dead on the ground]

Ki’var
Speak onto me that of thy duties?
Have you full filled your contract?

Nicholas
Fear not My Master, for blood is now spilt

Ki’var
It has begun?

Nicholas
Aye my Lord, first blood is ours.
Those that are vile and delight in death
Those are thy to command, they that spit the world
King Zan hath wrong them, a mistake to be sure
For they are crazed beings that enjoy blood

Ki’var
I am pleased to hear such news.
That those knowest Zan is thy enemy
With heavy hand, he shall find the grave waiting

Nicholas
Tonight a new king is born
Tonight a new Lord reigns
Tonight destiny is revealed

Ki’var
Aye, I am the master now of my time
Let the records show, let history be recorded
Zan was but a useless King, arrogant in his stance
He hath no wisdom of years, a child
A toy in my hands, now to do as I say
Open the gates, our armies stand ready
Let death commence

<center>ACT III: Scene IV</center>

[Alarms have been rung... Fighting ensues ...]

Rath
I will not play a fool and die upon mine own sword.
I will kill all to my death, any and all that approach.

Zan
We must turn them into the mouth of hell itself, drive them back

Rath
I grant him bloody,
I will to him blood for blood
False deception, they gained out good will
I shall seek revenge on their houses
None shall be safe, from my wrath, my vengeance

Zan
Aye, they did oppose me
Ki'var takes my throne to reign
His blood must be spilt
His seed must be scattered

Rath
Aye my blood boils for their deaths

King Zan
From cross the way this tyrant he doth seek my throne
Vile usurper, no grace, not royal, an unscrupulous heathen
Thy who wants what, riches, fortune, for what cause, what purpose
Ki'var’s message is of blood, death, the hopelessness of mankind
Is this what my people desire? What they yearn for?
Open your eyes look through his veil, the mask of self righteousness,
He is evil incarnate, my people will suffer under his rule

Prince Rath
There must be a traitor among us?
He or she must be dealt with.

Zan
My voice is my sword
The orders are issued, death to the enemy
Seek out the traitor and kill him or her as the case may be.
Let the soil hide the traitor’s blood
Do not give them a chance to speak with fouled words.

Prince Rath
My sword will have blood, and the blood will have blood
Aye I will kill the traitor, you have my word

[Zan leaves.. Ava enters]

Lady Ava
My Lord Rath, how are this fine evening.

Prince Rath
Fine evening Lady Ava?
War had broken out, we are in a fight for our lives.
This is a traitor is among us?

Lady Ava
Aye, I have heard that there is one indeed.

Prince Rath
One who lies and swears to do honor.
That traitor shall die tonight, before me she shall die.

Lady Ava
And so it shall be for all traitors.
MY Lord you speak the truth.

Prince Rath
Everyone that is a traitor in this action must die,
Her neck shall be easy to snap,
So frail so weak compared to a man’s.

Lady Ava
Of whom do we speak of my lord?
The Princess Vilandra? Has she betrayed you?

Prince Rath
No Ava, it is thy.
Be damned to hell for eternity.

[snapping of a neck is heard Rath exits leaves her body on the floor]

[enter Ki'var and Nicholas as they see her body]

Ki’var
Seems as though my little spy was discovered

Nicholas
Do you feel nothing for your step sister my Lord?

Ki’var
No, she was just a tool to be used,
Not a very good one I now see
Tell me Nicholas what do the people say in the streets about me.
Do they say I am a savage?

Nicholas
My Lord the people are confused,
They are frightened
Many barbaric acts have been carried out
All the blame though lies in the hands of the royalty

Ki’var
I am not treacherous, nor evil.
What I do, I do for Antar, for I shall rule better

Nicholas
Be not offended my Lord Ki'var by their ignorance
I speak for them; they are in fear of you,
They weep and bleed for you
They will follow you to peace and hope

Ki’var
Aye that is good, make sure they fear me
Only in fear will they be content

[Rath is brought into the room in chains]

Nicholas
Yield to Ki'var, yield to the victor

Rath
I will not yield
I will not kiss the ground that thy walks upon
Nay I will fight to my last breath, my body as a shield
Against the tyranny Ki'var, thy evil foul creature
I will be damned to let nt to return to avenge my death

Ki’var
My wisdom shall now reign, my words will ring true
Embrace your fate, for there lays blood on your face

[fade to black as sword comes down on Rath]

[enter Ki'var with Zan’s head]

Ki’var
Hail the fallen king for thou art dead
Hail the fallen king for thou art in mine hands

<center> EPILOGUE </center>

Apate
My sisters’ time has come to endow these Royals that died to be resurrected
The king and warrior to bring them back to the living, that is our cause.

Erins
But why sister, the deed is done blood is spilled. I smell the fresh souls waiting to be plucked.

Hubris
Yes sister why? We have our victory, souls more than we can hope for, grace our plates.

Apate
Ahh because sisters what has gone before must compete the circle, Ki'var now must die at their hands the king and the warrior then our victory of souls will be sweet tasting.

Erins
But why the females they help to cause the war, one betrayed, one beguiled.

Hubris
I see my sister to start the cycle over again.
