TITLE: Erase and Rewind
AUTHOR: Crashdown_51
E-MAIL: Torch_jo@yahoo.com
RATING: ADULT
DISCLAIMER: I don’t own any of these characters.
SUMMARY: This is a continuation after "Graduation"
CATERGORY: Everyone, but more Max/Liz
NOTES: Please tell me what you think about my story. I’d
love to hear what you think.

It's been five days since Jim Valenti had helped them cross the Arizona Stateline. He advised them to keep driving until they had passed the Nevada Stateline to ensure their safety. They only stopped for bathroom breaks, eating sandwiches and warm Snapple until it was safe for them to actually check into a motel room. Money was not an issue for them at the moment. Maria, Liz, Max and Isabel had cleaned out their savings account before graduation, while Jim made sure he gave Kyle his supply when they said their last good-byes', giving them a total of $5,283.56 The total was basically summed up by Isabel's, Maria's, and Kyle's contributions, since Liz took out money for her plane ticket to Sweden and Max took out money to buy his new car. Liz was sure that if their sudden plan on graduation wouldn't have been so...sudden, that they would have come up with more.

"We should be coming up near the Winnemucca exit, Maxwell." Michael announced as he struggled to fold the map into its original form without hitting Maria with it as she slept with her head on his lap. Max gripped the wheel and kept watch for the exit sign, which shouldn’t have been hard to miss since it was basically the same landscape as Roswell, New Mexico. The driving schedule in their VW van was pretty simple; humans drive in the morning and hybrids at night since they had unique vision. Liz had driven all day and was thankful that Max's turn was almost over soon so they could enjoy their two-day driving rest. Liz was restless. It had to be from the excitement. Max and Michael had promised them that they would be staying in a motel room for the next two nights and three days so they could stock up on needed supplies while Kyle nursed the van from the long ride. Max gazed back in his rearview mirror and saw Isabel filing her nails while Kyle slept on his basketball varsity jacket that his father had given to him before he left.

The six of them agreed to not contact anyone from Roswell until they found a safe method in doing so. Max made sure he made a mental note of it so they can discuss it later on. It was almost nine o’clock and he was afraid the stores would be closed by the time they made it to a motel, to get urgent supplies. “This is it.” Michael said tapping on Max’s shoulder and pointing to a faint dirt road. Ten minutes into the ride Liz could see a flashing neon sign that read ‘Black Rock Motel’, she just watched as the sign got closer and closer to them imagining how it would feel to sleep on a bed again. Sleep on a bed with her husband. Husband. She couldn’t help but think of a line Juliet had said while suffering a similar experience, “O, I have bought the mansion of love, but not yet possessed it. And, though I am sold, not yet enjoyed.” .” Max had only slept once with Tess, although she wished it wouldn’t have happened so they could experience it for the first time together. But that was in the past and she was glad she saved herself for Max.

“So how are we going to do this Maxwell?” Michael asked in reference to the personal information the motel manager would have to take in order for them to get a room.

“Max, why don’t you guys change your ID’s with someone else’s information. It’s not like they’re going to do a background check just to get a room.” Liz suggested, seeing both Max and Michael’s expression that that was going to be the plan. They had Isabel change the names and address on Michael and Max’s ID’s and watched as they headed to the motel’s office. Liz, Maria, and Isabel spotted a small shopping center across the street and decided to go ahead of the guys for privacy.

Black Rock’s Shopping Center

“My legs are all cramped up.” Isabel said as they entered the store.

“Well, that’s what you get for having long legs, Cindy Crawford.” Maria said as she pushed the door open for Liz.

“Oh, I am so Linda Evangelista.” Isabel corrected in an insulted toned, while Liz just laughed on their pointless debate, even though she agreed Isabel was more of a Linda Evangelista instead of a Cindy Crawford. The each got a small plastic basket and began to search the isles together.

“What’s wrong?” Maria asked Liz, noticing a worried expression on her face.

“Oh, nothing. It’s nothing.” Liz answered blushing from embarrassment from what was on her mind.

“Oh, don’t give me that. Spill. I’ve gone a whole week with only A.M. radio as entertainment, so spill it.” She demanded, stopping behind Liz as she was picking out a deodorant for herself and Max.

“Okay, but you have to promise not to laugh.” Liz said still blushing from embarrassment.

“I swear.’ Maria answered quickly as she signed a cross over her heart to commit to the promise. “Spill.”

“Well, I’m nervous.”

“Yeah, I got that much. I need the reason why.” Maria pressed annoyed by the cliffhangers Liz was leaving, but she pretty much could have assumed it had to do with Max Evans.

“Well you know how Max and I never…well you know” Liz skipped that detail seeing Maria understood what she was hinting at “I’m just nervous on how I’m going to perform.” She confessed as they walked further down the isle to where Isabel was.

“Perform? Liz, you’re not auditioning for Star Search.” Maria exclaimed in disbelief. “As long as he’s going at your speed everything would be ok. Then later on you guys can explore other aspects of…’it’.” Maria advised.

“Please tell me you’re not talking about doing ‘it’ with my brother!” Isabel questioned in disgust.

“Not you’re brother. But Liz’s husband.” Maria corrected. Isabel seemed to wince at the word, remembering her husband Jesse had begged to come with her. She knew he’d be in Boston with his new job and new life without her. She shock away the thought and continued to search through the limited options of shampoo.

“Never mind. It’s no big deal.” Liz said waving her hand trying to dismiss the awkward conversation. They just didn’t understand what she was worried about.

“No big deal? Liz, this is your first time and with your first love and husband. And if that isn’t fairytale material, I don’t know what is.” Maria explained, feeling a little envious that like Isabel, she waited until she waited until she was married. She still didn’t regret doing it with Michael though, if she had the chance to take it back, she wouldn’t. It was perfect in her eyes and it would continue to be perfect as long as she was with Michael. Liz smiled, grateful on having her best friend with her. She went to the next isle and began getting toothbrushes and other toiletries for Max and herself. She remembered seeing key items on her random visits to Max’s room and knew what brands to buy, if she missed anything, she knew he wouldn’t mind getting it. As she was rummaging through her basket, checking off her necessary list mentally, Isabel came and displayed a tasteful choice of teen-lingerie for Liz. It was a two-pieced, spaghetti strapped, sheer Viv plaid cami with a pair of cheeky boy shorts. Powder blue with a light pink edges and hand sized, pink, horizontal squares for the plaid print. “Oh! I am not wearing that.” She denied it because she was embarrassed that there was a dress code for sleeping with her husband, other than that she would have picked it out herself. She was use to sleeping with Max both fully dressed.

“Come on. It’s either this…” Isabel dangled the sheer two-piece lingerie in front of her.

“Or this.” Maria added, pulling a black leather number that looked like Julia Roberts would have worn in “Pretty Woman”.

“This looks good.” Liz said taking Isabel’s option.

“Are you sure? Cause this one comes with props.” Maria pitched as she pulled out a pair of handcuffs making Liz and Isabel bust out laughing towards the cashier to pay for their stuff. When they were about to exit the store, Liz spotted Max crossing the street with Michael and Kyle and quickly panicked. “What? What’s wrong?”

“Max is coming. I don’t want him to see it.” Liz hyperventilated.

“Here. I’ll take it.” Isabel said tucking it inside her bag. “I’ll give it to you back at the van.”
Isabel said walking out of the store.

“What took you guys so long?” Michael questioned.

“Settle down, Space Boy. Did you guys get the rooms?” Maria asked, Michael dangled a red plastic key chain with a single key hooked on the ring in front if her. “Great.” She said snatching the key from his hand, while Max handed Liz’s theirs and Kyle handed Isabel theirs. Liz gave Max a quick kiss and then allowed him to search the bags in case she missed anything.

“Is it ok?” She asked, sneaking off with another kiss.

“It’s perfect.” He said kissing her a bit more intimate, when he pulled away he noticed her flirtatious gaze and kissed her again.

“Save it for the honeymoon.” Michael commented as the rest of the group witnessed what seemed to them to be a nauseating display of affection. Both Liz and Max were slightly embarrassed, not for showing how they feel for each other publicly, but for being put on the spot.

“Listen we’re going to get something to eat later and then scout out the place, okay?” Max informed Liz as he played with the strings of his hooded sweatshirt she was wearing, that ended an inch above her knees. “We’ll be back soon.” He added as he followed Michael and Kyle into the store but being pulled back for one last kiss by Liz before he went inside.

“Ah, that is so corny.” Isabel snorted, as they crossed the street to the motel. Liz entered her room, number 16, which was kind of ironic since that’s how old she was when they first met each other.

Black Rock Motel

When Liz entered her room the first thing she noticed was a flower on the bed. She smiled and glowed on how romantic Max could be sometimes. When she locked the entrance door, she become aware of the two doors on the sidewalls assuming the rooms were joined, which was a terrific precaution, just in case something were to occur suddenly. A light knock echoed from the door to her right, she walked over to open it and found Isabel, with a smile, holding the cami and cheeky boy shorts in one and a curling iron in the other. “So let’s get you ready for the big moment.” She said as she walked into the room and opened the other door so Maria could come in.

“Alright, you get the hair I’ll do the make up.” Maria ordered as she poured out what little supply of make up she had.

“So what am I suppose to do?” Liz asked awaiting her task.

“You get to do what I have dreamed about for years, sit and watch T.V. while we pamper you. After all, you’re technically the queen in a planet far, far away.” Maria teased.

“Maria, that’s not true. The only royalty her is Princess Isabel.” Liz giggled.

“Eat your hearts out, ladies.” Isabel replied as she plugged in the curling iron in the socket below the nightstand. “Okay, enough with the small talk. Liz, go put on your awesome underwear, that was picked out by moi for the record…”

“Noted.” Liz answered as she took the lingerie to the bathroom to change. She stripped off her clothes and slipped on the lingerie. She looked down at her body and felt as bare as she looked. Her tanned tummy was completely exposed as well as her legs and upper thighs. She tried to see if she could see herself in the rectangular mirror above the sink by climbing onto the ledge of the bathtub, but ended up slipping on the cold marble as she leaned forward, scrapping the entire side of her left thigh before she fell to the cold floor. “Ah.” She yelled, getting the wind knocked out of her when she fell on her stomach. Maria and Isabel came bursting through the door with concern, finding her on the cold floor.

“Oh, my God. Liz! Are you alright?” Maria asked as both her and Isabel tried to pick her up.

“Yeah. I’m so stupid.” Liz cursed as the helped her up.

“Oh, my God! Liz, you’re bleeding.” Isabel pointed out as a trail of blood ran down her leg and onto the floor. “What were you doing?” Isabel questioned as they took her back out to the main room.

“Being an idiot that’s what I was doing.” Liz said as she sat on the bed. “I really screwed up tonight now.” Liz said taking a washcloth Maria handed her to try to consume some of the blood.

“Relax, Max can fix it when he gets here.” Maria said trying to console her as she went back to the bathroom to get Max’s sweatshirt jacket that Liz was wearing and handed it to her. “Here. Just cover up and he’ll never know.” Liz put the sweater on and tucked both sides over and under like a bathrobe. “Come on. We’ll fix the rest of you.” Maria said as she began to apply a light outline of black liner around her eyes. She let Liz put a fresh coat of Berry lip-gloss and gave her cheeks a hint of highlight with a little rose. Isabel then took charge and started to add waves to the ends of Liz’s long her with the hot curling iron.

“Lean back a little.” Isabel requested. In doing so, Liz leaned back sliding her hands back as well for support and ended up getting cut by the rose that was still lying on the bed that Max had left for her.

“Ah!” Liz screeched hold her wrist of her left hand that was bleeding as well inside her palm. “What? Am I a target or something?” Liz questioned for an explanation. Isabel and Maria just laughed on Liz’s clumsiness, it could only mean she must have been really nervous.

Chapter 2

The Black Rock Motel

“Okay Liz, aside from the massive blood loss, I’d say you’re looking FAB-U-LOUS!” Maria complimented, pronouncing and snapped her fingers with each syllable in the word ‘fabulous’. “Let’s clean up before the guys think a beauty parlor exploded in here.” Maria suggested. Both her and Isabel began picking up their beauty supplies and took them to their rooms, by the time they came back they heard someone knocking on the door.

“Who is it?” Isabel asked near the door.

“Manager. I got a call about a woman screaming. Is everything alright in there?” He asked from the outside. Isabel opened the door a crack to see the man face to face.

“Hi. Yeah, everything’s okay. My friend just slipped in the bathroom, but thank you for asking. Bye” Isabel said in a hurry as she attempted to close the door so he could leave.

“Um, actually Ma’am, I have to see if she’s okay in order to avoid any law suits.” He responded, hold the door from closing with his foot at the door.

“It’s alright, let him in.” Isabel heard Liz say. She swung the door open lightly and closed it after he entered.

“Oh, my.” The man uttered in surprise. “What happened?” He asked, walking over to Liz, who was sitting on the bed beside Maria, holding a bloody washcloth on her leg while Maria held the other on her hand.

“Oh, yeah, I’m fine. It was a stupid accident. I was trying to see my outfit in the bathroom mirror and I slipped and scrapped my leg on the corner of the sink. Like I said, ‘stupid’.” Liz said with a small chuckle of embarrassment.

“Well, we do have first aid kits in each room…” He notified them as he walked into the bathroom and returned with a small white plastic case. He kneeled in front Liz and began cleaning her wound. “We’re required to know first aid techniques in case something like this happens.” He explained as he began to dress her wounds. But when he was finishing up with the dressings for her hand, Liz got a sudden flash of the manager having a conversation with a bartender and then of a clock above the bar with 9:15 p.m. as the time. “Well, there you go. All better. Just in case, you should go to the emergency room to get it checked out.”

“Actually, we were about to go out right now, um…do you recommend anything that’s near by?” Liz asked “Like a bar or a club?”

“Well, we really don’t have anything fancy here. You have to go deeper into Winnewucca.”

“We’re not looking for anything fancy. Just a place to hang out, you know? Take in the sites and everything.” Liz replied.

“Well, the only thing that comes to my mind is the local bar, The Black Shamrock. I was heading there myself now, since my shift is over. It’s nothing much but the do have live bands, oh, and there’s the dance club called “Fortune”, it’s mostly young crowds around there.”

“Okay, well go check them out, oh, and thanks for the help again. It’s really sweet of you.” Liz thanked trying to end the conversation to explain everything to both Maria and Isabel, who were staring at her with a double face of confusion.

“Alright, then. Have a safe night, ladies.” He waved good-bye and left the room.

“Okay, do you mind telling us what that was all about?” Maria asked.

“I got a flash.”

“From who? Grandpa?” Maria asked meaning the middle age manager.

“What was it?” Isabel asked.

“He was talking to a bartender about Max…I think.” Liz said trying to recall her premonition. “We have to go. I’ll get dressed. Isabel, can you write a letter to Max and let him know where we’re going?”

“Why can’t we just wait for Max?” Isabel questioned.

“Because, in my vision, whatever happens…happens at 9:15 tonight. It’s 8:45 now. Let’s go.”

“Uh, Liz. You might wanna…oh it’s a crazy idea…put some clothes on!” Maria said pointing out she was just wearing her lingerie with a jacket on top.

“You’re right.” Liz said embarrassed, running to her duffel bag and grabbing some clothes then running to the bathroom.

“Whoa!” Maria announced with disbelief when Liz walked out of the bathroom. She was wearing a small maroon v-neck top that had a shoelace design some waistline jeans and her boots. “Okay, where’s the party?”

“What?” Liz asked innocently not seeing anything wrong with what she was wearing.

“What? Uh, Liz? Are you even allowed to wear that?” Maria asked with a huff.

“Allowed? What Michael has limits on you?” Liz questioned with an ‘are you whipped’ look.

“No! He wishes. I’m just saying…” Maria trailed off.

“Go ahead and change.” Liz said with a giggle of frustration.

“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.” Maria said with a cheer, kissing Liz on the cheek, and then running to her room.

“Well, if you to are getting all dolled up, I guess I might as well.” Isabel said walking to her room with her nose in the air. Eight minutes had passed by the time Isabel and Maria came back into Liz’s room.

“Oh…” Liz said with a laugh, reviewing their ‘just as sexy’ outfits. “Nice.”

“Yep, now we can go.” Isabel said as the three of them left the room, arm-in-arm like a bad ‘Wizard of Oz’ impression.

The Black Shamrock

It was 9:10 by the time they entered the Shamrock. The place was half packed, packed enough for them not to stand out Liz thought. That was until she noticed all the wondering eyes. “We should have worn sweaters.” Isabel whispered in her ear. Liz nodded as she scanned the room for the manager.

“There he is.” Liz said loud enough for Isabel and Maria to hear, pointing out the manager sitting at the bar with her chin. As the approached the bar, they were swarmed with ‘Well, hello there’s’ and ‘Ouches’. “Let’s sit here.” Liz pointed out a small round table behind the manager. As they sat down, Liz glanced at the clock above the bar and saw the big hand shift to the 3. “Okay, 9:15.” Liz said trying to eavesdrop.

“…and the Phillip’s kids got jobs at down in that ‘Fortune’ place. I would have thought that they’d be going straight to the slammer, those two with all those tattoo’s and piercings.” Liz could hear the bartender talking.

“Speaking of the Phillip’s kids. Today, I got a couple of graduates who checked in at the Motel and I swear to you, one of the boys was a splitting image of that Danny Phillips boy. I mean it looks like they were separated at birth, the two of them. But the kid said he only had a sister.” The manager replied.

“You know that they cloned a lamb.” Another man joined in the conversation.

“Did you guys hear that?” Liz asked.

“I thought it was a sheep.” The manager’s voice could still be heard.

“Yeah, they were talking about Max. Let’s get out of here.” Isabel asked.

“Can I get you girls anything?” A waitress came and asked with a round tray under her arm and a pad and pencil in her hands, awaiting their order.

“Aren’t they the same thing?” The bartender asked.

“Uh, actually we were just leaving.” Isabel said as the three of the stood up and headed out the door.

The parking lot outside the Shamrock

“What do you think, some sort of coincidence?” Maria asked trying to keep up with Liz and Isabel, who were walking with a speedy pace.

“Nothing’s a coincidence anymore.” Isabel replied.

“Isabel’s right. Everything means something.” Liz added. “I mean if it wasn’t important I wouldn’t have got the flash, Maria.”

“So what’s the plan?” Maria asked.

“We go to the ‘Fortune’ place and see for ourselves.” Isabel answered before Liz could. Both Maria and Liz looked at her with shock. Usually Isabel would be the one who wouldn’t make a move without Michael or Max’s knowledge. “What? We can take care of ourselves.” Isabel answered noticing the stares.

“Yeah, you and the Pink Ranger over there. I on the other hand will always play the damsel in distress.” Maria said with a slight hint of jealousy.

“Uh, Maria. Would you like us to shoot you and have Max heal you? I mean ‘Power Puff Girl’s ‘ and ‘Charlie’s Angels’ are taken, but I’m sure we can think of something cool.” Liz teased, getting a laugh from all three of them.

Chapter 3

The Black Rock Motel

They guys came all holding a bag of personal items, along with it Michael was carrying Chinese take out and Kyle was carrying a cardboard box with VW car parts. Max knocked on the door remembering he had given the key to the room to Liz. “She must be with Maria.” Max assumed, Michael shrugged it off and walked to room 15 and knocked on the door.

“Maria?” He said pounding a little harder. There was no response. Michael turned to his right side and nodded ‘no’ to Max as a signal that they weren’t there. Max looked at Kyle. Kyle getting the message walked down to room 17 and began to kick the door unable to knock with his hands full. Kyle turned to his left and nodded ‘no’ as well. Max than shifted his bags to one hand and with the empty one he placed his hand on the doorknob, a gold light shined beneath it, he stopped and then turned the knob opening the door.

“Liz?” He called out tossing the bags on the bed. Michael and Kyle then entered the room placing their stuff as well on the bed. “Isabel?” Max called out. Opening the door that led to her room.

“Maria?” Michael said checking his room, but nothing.

“Guys?” Kyle called out, when they both turned around Kyle was holding up the bloody washcloths Liz was using for her leg and hand. “Someone’s hurt.” He concluded pointing out the first aid kit as well. Both Michael and Max felt as if they’ve been kick in the stomach.

“Where…” Max trailed off from his question when he noticed a note on the bed’s side table.

“What? What is it?” Michael asked as he saw Max’s eyes scan the note.

“Isabel…said Liz had a flash and they went to look for clues at the Black Shamrock.” Max summarized.

“Clues? What are they freakin’ ‘Scooby Doo’ gang?” Michael asked with anger. “I swear to God they keep doing this and I’ll kill them myself.” He said leaving the room with Max and Kyle following behind.

The Black Shamrock

When they entered inside, Michael stopped both Max and Kyle from moving, “You guys don’t tell Maria I threatened to kill Maria.” Both Max and Kyle smile at each other knowing they would tell. Max spotted the manager from the motel and headed towards the bar.

“What can I get…you guys?” The bartender start to take their order but then noticed Max. The three of them noticed the bartender’s sudden bewilderment towards Max but didn’t know why. What crossed Michaels mind was that the bartender probably recognized Max but couldn’t come up with a reason why.

“Oh, hey.” The manager said turning to see what the blank looks were about. “I see the little patient took my recommendation.”

“I’m sorry.” Max asked not knowing what the man was referring to. “Patient?”

“Yeah, the little brunette in room 16. When I was in the room she asked me where were some places to hang out near by and I told here ‘The Black Shamrock’ and ‘Fortune’” The man retold.

“Why where you in the room?” Michael picked up on the remark.

“Oh, for the scream.” He added, seeing that they had no idea what he was talking about he continued to explain. “The little brunette scream. She hurt herself pretty bad. Poor thing feel down. Had a huge cut from here to here,” The man pointed from above his kneecap to the middle of his beefy thigh. “ I cleaned it up and then she asked me about the places. But I told her to get the cut checked out.”

“Thanks.” Max forced out a smile and walked out the door with Kyle and Michael following along.

“I told you. Just like Ned Phillip’s boy.” The manager said in an ‘I told you so’ tone.

“Maxwell, we could have asked him more.” Michael said surprised with Max’s sudden rush out the door

“I did want to hear about how he had his hands all over Liz, okay. If I stayed there any longer I was liable to knock him out.” Max confessed with tightened fists.

“Wow, easy on the “human” there, Maxwell. He helped her.” Michael teased on how over protective he could be when it came to Liz.

‘He touched her. Just imagine if it were Maria. How would you feel if someone had their hands all over her?” Max said trying to get Michael to see it from his point of view.

“Oh, I’d kill him. But that’s the thing, Maxwell. He wasn’t ‘ALL’ over her. It was just her leg.”

“Michael!” Max yelled in an ‘I’m warning you’ tone walking a bit faster.

“You’re right. One leg too many. So what’s the plan?” Michael asked trying to keep up.

“‘Fortune’, that’s what the manager said they’d be.”

Fortune

“Not bad.” Maria said. “It’s not the soap factory or remotely close to Enigma, but it’s impressive for ‘The Little House on the Prairie’ types.”

“Shut up, Maria” Both Isabel and Maria said simultaneously.

“We’ll split up. Maria you go right. Liz you left. I’ll go down the middle. Make our way to the bar.” Isabel ordered.
“Split up? What happened to sticking together?” Maria questioned.

“Maria, it’s a dance club for crying out loud. What are you afraid of? Someone threatening you to dance with them?” Isabel asked annoyed with Maria’s paranoia and walk through the middle of the dance floor. She turned to look at Liz for support but Liz was already gone.

“Great.” Maria said to herself, searching for a Max look a like to the right of the club.

Liz walked slowly in her section, making sure she scanned every face. “Oops, oh, I’m sorry.” Liz said apologizing to someone she ran into.

“It’s cool.” She heard a familiar voice answer.

‘Max?’ She thought to herself. But when she looked up she saw she was face to face with who they were looking for. Danny Phillips. Everything went silent. Her first thought was to run away and find Maria and Isabel, but her legs wouldn’t move. She then thought of blasting him with her electric energy blasts, but couldn’t move her hands. Her heart began to beat repeatedly making her breathe harder and faster as he walked an examining circle around her. He stopped in front of her again and then touched her hand. Images flashed in Liz’s mind with great speed, some unclear and some visible. Stars. Liz remembered when Nasaedo posed as Max and she kissed him, she saw dark unnerving things. This was different. It was like she was being touched by Max, times a thousand. Then she heard…she heard the most beautiful guitar cords playing. Danny twirled her, and then pushed her back against his chest leading her to rock side to side.

Crash and Push - Robi Draco Rosa

Crash......
Would you like me to forget myself
and lose myself
in you

Push......
Just one push will do
Then I'm overboard
Drowning in you

Liz leaned her head back into the crook of his neck and followed the smooth sway of his movements.

I hear a whisper slowly &
Soon our lips will be near
In between the day and night
I step into the blue twilight
Catch me, darling catch me

He lightly brushed his hands down her arms, then lightly guided her hands to skim her own body.

Hold me back
I think I'm falling
Over you,
what did you do?

Her thighs.

Help me now
I'm losing me....into you
What did you do?
What did you do?

Her hips. Her waist.

Walk, I walk a line that leads to you
Waiting....anticipating
desire has no safety
To lead you on the road
Going crazy

The sides of her breast. Her shoulders. Her head tilts bake and he continues. Her neck. Waving her fingers through her hair to hold the back of his neck. He then retraced her steps. Stopping at her waist then slowly caressing her bare abdomen.

I hear a whisper slowly &
Soon our lips will be near

He slides one of her hands to be entwined as he held her soft tummy.

Hold me back
I think I'm falling
Over you, what did you do?

Liz’s other arm dropped slowly onto the top of his hand. It was a layer of hands. His. Hers. His. And then hers again.

Help me now
I'm losing me into you
What did you do?
What did you do?

He caressed the tip of his nose in the point behind her ear where here jaw line begins.

I hear you whisper darling.....darling

In between the day and night
I step into the blue twilight
Catch me, darling catch me

Unstoppable swaying.

Hold me back
I think I'm falling
Over you, what did you do?

Then he walked in front of her again the leaded her to the exit.

Help me now
I'm losing me.... Into you

“Liz!” Maria called out and followed.

What did you do?
What did you do?
What did you do? I think I'm falling
What did you do?
What did you do? I think I'm falling

“Maria!” Isabel called out, but lost her being to deep into the crowd.

Help me now
I'm losing me.... Into you
What did you do?
What did you do?

Chapter 4

“Don’t worry. We’re here.” Danny said pressing on the gas to hear the engine roar in his black GTO. Liz was just frozen stiff, couldn’t blink, couldn’t move, couldn’t think. The car gave off a hard jerk as he pulled up into a driveway.

Phillips House

Danny took her into his bedroom. It was nothing like Max’s was the first thing she thought. The room was dark, alternative band posters posted on his wall, a dry fish tank with a lizard gripping on a tilted piece of wood with leaves. He sat her down on the bed and he sat on his single sofa in the corner of the room. “What’s your name?”

“Liz. Liz Parker.” Liz responded with a tremble on her voice.

“Liz.” Danny repeated savoring the sound of her voice and her name. “You were looking for me. Why?”

“Max.” Liz answered getting flashes of moments she shared with Max. Danny noticed her wondering and brushed her wild hair away from her face causing him to see the flashes as well. He saw Liz’s reaction when she saw Max walk into their science class. He saw Liz undressing Max in Michael’s apartment and then him on top of her kissing, but then the vision stopped when Liz jerked away. “What are you doing?” Liz asked stumbling back off the bed and onto the floor. She jumped up real quick, in pain, and backed up into the dresser. “What? Why? Who are you? What…” Liz’s random questions came to a halt, unable to speak.

“Shhh…”Danny said with a finger over her mouth. “Your hurt.” He said pointing a her jeans that had stains of blood on the side of her leg. “Come on.”

Fortune

“Max!” Isabel yelled when she saw Max walking towards her.

“Isabel? Where’s Liz?” Max asked.

“Where’s Maria.” Michael asked.

“Over here!” Maria yelled as she jogged to him, wrapping her arms around him with happiness to see him.

“What the hell were you guys thinking? What the hell are you guys doing here? And what the hell are you wearing?” Michael asked realizing how provocative Maria’s outfit appeared.

“Clothes” Maria answered, out of breathe with her hands at her hips.

“Yeah, where’s the rest of it? Michael exclaimed pointing to her bare legs.

“Shut up, Michael.” She commanded holding her chest for air. “We have to get Liz.” Maria said quickly changing the subject.

“Where is she?” Max asked stepping up beside Michael to look at Maria better.

“I followed them to a big house.” Maria said pointing in the direction she came running from.

“What house?” Michael asked.

“Followed her with whom?” Max asked.

“I think it was that Phillips guy. The guy we came looking for.” Maria answered.

“Explain it to us on the way.” Max said as they ran behind Maria who was leading the way.

Chapter 5

Phillip’s House

Danny sat Liz down and then turned back to his dresser. “You’re really tense. Relax, Liz. I’m not going to hurt you. How about a little music?” He said turning the power on.

Outside the Phillip’s House

“Do you see anything?” Kyle asked as they crouched down to peer through the window.

“No. Nothing.” Isabel said. “Are you sure they came in?” Isabel asked Maria.

“Yes, I’m sure. I saw them myself.” Maria assured them. “Maybe you can do that dream walk thing you do.” Maria suggested. Isabel looked at her brothers pleading face.

“I’ll try.” Isabel said, closing her eyes and trying to focus. When Isabel got in Liz’s mind, it was like she was back in Max’s mind when he was captured by Agent Pierce. ‘Uh, Liz! Liz!’ She wobbled from side to side to a bed where Liz was lying at, staring at the ceiling. ‘Liz. It’s me, Isabel.’ Isabel said lightly smacking her face to get Liz’s attention, but Liz wouldn’t react. ‘Liz?’ Isabel called out but then felt her body being blasted away. Outside Liz’s mind, Isabel collapsed backwards, falling to the ground.

“What happened?” Max asked running to her side with Michael to help her up.

“Liz. She wouldn’t focus. I can’t get to her. Someone kicked me out.” Isabel said breathing rapidly.

“Can you try it again?” Michael asked “With Maxwell. You’ve done it before, with Liz. That worked.”

“I can try.” She said taking Max’s hand. “Close your eyes and focus on Liz.” Isabel instructed. Max followed Isabel’s instructions but couldn’t get in. “It’s not working. He has too many emotions flying around. I can't concentrate.”

“Well, than I’ll try.” Maria volunteered.

“You can’t. What ever that was that pushed me out was strong. I don’t know what it will do to you. Michael. You try.” Isabel said taking his hands. “Focus.” Isabel instructed again. Michael shut his eyes and began to focus on Liz. He entered the same turning room Isabel was in.

‘Liz.’ Michael called out balancing his way to the bed were she was still lying staring at the ceiling. ‘Lizzy, wake up.' He yelled shaking her and then slapping her lightly on her right cheek. Liz’s chest popped up as if she were taking in the biggest breath in her life, knocking Michael onto the floor.

‘No.’ Liz breathed. ‘Michael. Help me.’ Liz pleaded. Michael watched as Liz’s jeans were being unbuttoned. But he could see from who.

‘Liz. Liz. Who’s doing this to you?’ Michael asked looking at Liz’s face then back to her legs with her jeans completely off. ‘Liz. I’m coming.’ Michael promised. Michael snapped out of the dream tranz finding a crowd of friends observing him.

“What happened?” Max pleaded.

“She’s not in there.” Michael answered.

Chapter 6

In My Blood – Carina Round

Read between smoking silhouettes
Did not catch sight of you yet
Oh, why?
Is it so unkind?

Silver morning brings something to fight
Into the frame of its idiot night
It keeps me inside

“Shhh…” Danny shushed her. “I’m just going to help you.” He said beginning to unbutton Liz’s jeans.

I wait all my life
Just for the rush
The passing of fire
Into my blood

“I’m just going to help you.” He said beginning to unbutton Liz’s jeans.

All the reasons that raced through my mind
Just to keep me trusted and drowned
I leave them behind

Watch the people get tricked out of time
Every dream they had passing them by
It’s freedom to find

I wait all my life
Just for the rush
The passing of fire
Into my blood

Tears began to roll down the sides of Liz’s cheeks, feeling the warmness of them trail along the tips of her ears and fall into her long dark hair as he began to slide off her jeans leaving her visible in her white cotton panties.

Wait all my life
Just for the rush
The passing of fire
Into my blood
Into my blood

He then stood there looking. Just looking. “I knew deep inside that I would always find you, Liz. My Liz.” Danny whispered softly to her.

Burn the secrets I know a land slide
We’ll always fall on the eclipse side
Tell me I’ve got no other way down
The way
I wait all my life
Just for the rush
The fear and the fight towards the inside
Into the light
Ready to burn
I wait no more or hang on my turn
You move to slow
It’s like waiting to die
To diffuse my mind
A dream that’s defined
Oh, into the flow
This feeling so pure
They’re shooting up love
Into my blood
Into my blood

“I’m married!” Liz implored.

Outside the Phillips House

“What? What do you mean she’s not in there? I saw her go in there.” Maria question in disbelief.

“Look she’s not in there, okay? Look, Maxwell. Go back to the motel just in case she’s back there. Kyle, take Maria to that ‘Fortune’ place, keep an eye out for any Max look a likes. Isabel and I will stay here just in case they do come here, okay?” Michael commanded, but Max kept looking back at the house. “Max! Okay?” Michael repeated by pushing his shoulder. “Trust me.” Michael said in a softer tone. Max tried to decode Michael’s expression but it wasn’t until he heard Michael’s next word of caution that got him to follow Michael’s directions. “Look, Maxwell. The longer we stay here the more endanger Liz is.” Max nodded and headed back towards the motel as Kyle and Maria headed back towards the club. Michael waited until they were out of sight before jogging to the front door.

“Michael, wait, I thought you said we were going to keep an eye out?” Isabel question, but Michael gave her a quick glance before opening the door with his powers. “Michael this is ‘break in and entry’.” Isabel whispered as she followed him in the entrance corridor.

“Yeah, well, it’s better than murder.” Michael whispered back heading up the stairs.

“She’s in her isn’t she?” Isabel whispered pulling him back. “Why did you lie to Max?”

“Because you and I both know that whoever’s in there with Liz, Max is ready to kill.” Michael whispered back angry, seeing how frightened Isabel was he took in a breath and looked back at her. “Max not a killer.” He said and then headed quietly up the stairs again. They came up to a room with a closed door, Michael pointed to it and signaled Isabel to open the door so he can move right in. Isabel nodded and placed her hand over the door, unlocked it and nodded back to Michael that she was ready. Michael nodded back and held up his hand, Isabel swung the door opened and Michael jumped right in throwing a bolt of yellow energy.

Chapter 7

Right as the energy blast shot towards Danny, he quickly pulled up his hand and created a blue energy shield, making the blast bounce side ways hitting Danny’s radio. Michael blinked twice not believing what he had just seen. But then heard Liz call out for Max with a whimper. “Get away from her!” Michael demanded still holding his hand stead at Danny’s chest level. “Get away from her now!” He yelled seeing Danny still holding up his energy field.

“I just want to heal her.” Danny said in a shaky voice as he ceased his shield. Michael was stunned at the sight. Another Max.

“Don’t touch her!” Michael warned taking a step forward.

“She’s lost a lot of blood. She’s going to die before makes it to a hospital.” Danny informed with his hand up in front of his chest. ‘I’m just going to help her.” Danny repeated as he edged his way back towards Liz. Michael was hesitant as first but than lowered his hand slowly. Danny climbed over Liz and tried to get her to look into his eyes. “Liz. You have to stay with me. You have to stay awake. Look at me.” He pleaded, finally getting Liz to focus into his eyes. Danny then placed his hand on Liz’s wound and a blue light began to shine beneath his hand. Flashes swarmed his head of a similar situation, Max healing Liz when she got shot. His power was taking most of his energy and he was just about finished until Max stormed in.

“Get away from her!” Max screamed, conjuring a green energy blast and swirling it at Danny, making him fly off of Liz to the back of the wall. Max ran to Liz who had tears streaming down her pale face. “Liz? Liz? Are you okay?” He asked picking up her weak body. Enraged he looked down to Danny who was trying to sit up against the wall. “What did you do to her?” Max question, demanding an answer.

“I saved her.” Danny answered coughing and attempting to recover his breathing. Max locked down at Liz’s leg and saw her almost healed leg and finished healing it him self. “Isabel. Help me dress her.” Max asked. Isabel walked in and helped Max put her jeans on. When Max finished buttoning her jeans he looked back at her and she was still staring up at the ceiling.

“What did you do to her?” Max interrogated louder.

Danny smiled and then arose to his feet. He looked down at Liz and called out in a soft voice, “Liz.” Max look back at Liz’s back hilled up like she was just resurrected.

“Uhhhh.” Liz gasped hysterically for air, lying back down when air touched her lungs.

“That’s what happened to her in my vision.” Michael advised.

“Mmmm…Mmmaxx?” She whispered short of breath. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” She apologized closing her eyes tight as she began to cry freely.

“It’s okay, Liz. I’m right here.” He comforted as he rocked her back and forth brushing her hair back. He looked up at Michael and Isabel and then down at a trembling Liz. “Let’s get out of here.”

“What about him?” Michael asked regarding Danny.

“He’s coming with us.” Max said emotionless. Michael grabbed Danny’s sweater and forced him to follow Isabel out the door. Max took off the jacket he had let Liz wear before he left and draped it over her, then slid his hands under her knees and the small of her back and carried her out.

Chapter 8

The Black Rock Motel

Max and Liz’s room

“Sit down.” Michael said pushing Danny down on one of the motels’ chairs. Max slowly lowered Liz on the bed in a sitting position, when he was about to straighten up, Liz quickly grabbed him.

“Please, don’t go. I need you near me, Max.” Liz whimpered with watery eyes. Max simply gazed at her eyes, brushing her hair back, kissing her forehead, and sat down next to her. Liz wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her head over his heart, while Max held her waist with his left arm and hand.

“Should we tie him up?” Kyle asked Michael.

“Why? I’m not going to run.” Danny said cracking his knuckles and his neck.

“Who are you?” Max asked, noticing every facial feature was an exact replica to his. That is not including the pierced right eyebrow and semi-short dreads.

“Danny Phillips.” Danny answered.

“He means, who are you ‘really’? Are you a shape shifter?” Michael badgered.

“No he isn’t.” Liz answered quietly. Max looked down at her and then at Danny.

“Then who?” Max asked again.

“Zan. My name is Zan.” He confessed.

“Try again. Zan’s dead.” Michael informed him with an angry tone. “He was killed by Rath and Lonnie.”

“No. They only thought they did.” Zan corrected. “I always had a hunch they wanted to get fry me. So I had help.”

“Help?” Max repeated not understanding.

“Ava. Ned. They were in on it. That night when they thought they killed me, I was in Roswell.” Zan admitted shocking everyone with the new information. “I was hiding out. Waiting.”

“Waiting for what?” Michael pressed.

“Waiting for the right moment to get what I needed. I knew the summit was coming so I knew it was time.”

“Time for what?” Max asked.

“To find Riverdog and get the stones. The healing stones. Then it turned out the 'Scooby Doo' gang has them. Ava got close enough so I could clip em', use em' and bring em' back without anyone feelin' me.”

“I don’t get it. If you were never hit what the hell did you need the stones for?” Michael questioned.

“To heal Cassian our protector.” Zan answered. “ Or in Winnemucca, Ned, our father. He was the one that got slammed. He played me for a few and from what I saw, I say you know the feelin’.” He pointed his chin to Max.

“Ava told me you died.” Liz added. “She cried for you.”

“Yeah, well, I got my reason for that.” Danny said flashing Liz a smile as he rested his elbows on his knees. “Ava didn’t know about the swap. Lonnie would’ve read right through her. But when I spotted Lonnie and Rath at Roswell. I knew they were trying snatch ‘Your Highness’ over there, so I had to get Ava to say somein’ to you all to getcha to keep him away from the summit. I told her to chill in the alley at your crib, and then you with the Angel you are, took her in. And before you know it, bang, Max-a-million is home sweet home. Summit over. Lonnie and Rath back at the sewers and iced by the man’s lady.” Zan summarized.

“Tess killed them. Not Liz.” Max stated, holding Liz’s hand tight.

“Whatever. Point is their toast.” Zan said emotionless with a shrug. “Where is the little hero?” Zan asked not seeing Tess there.

“Dead.” Isabel answered without thought. “I don’t get it. I thought you guys wanted to go home. Why didn’t you?” Isabel asked the questioned that roamed both Michael and Max’s heads.

“Easy. Same reason why y’all didn’t jet.” Zan answered, puppetting his hand like a jet rising and then staring at Liz. “And besides, I knew Kivar would sell us out.” The room door opened suddenly, startling everyone except Zan and in walked Ava, who seemed a bit impatient.

“Yo, you almost done here? I wanna crash already.” Ava whined with her hand on her hip.

“Yeah.” Zan yelled back scooting up from his chair. “Yo, we done here or what?” He asked Max with open palms.

“No. I still got more questions.” Max stated standing up in Zan’s path.

“You, flexin’ on me?” Zan said with a self-assured laugh. Max just looked at him with the same amount of confidence. “Hey, man. No need to try and impress the Angel. You need me. You know where I’m at. Let’s break, Ava.” He said walking out of the room with his arm around Ava. Michael closed the door and turned around with a perplexed look across his face.

“What the hell just happened?” Michael asked with one hand at his side and the other with a finger pointing to the floor.

“I don’t think we can trust them.” Maria finally spoke.

“I think we can.” Isabel said shaky, seeing everyone’s head shot a look at her of skepticism. “Zan said it himself. He was at Roswell. If he were any threat to us he would have done something long time ago.”

“Yeah, but what if he was just waiting.” Michael retaliated

“Waiting for what? For us to come here? Michael, it’s a coincidence. A big weird coincidence.” Isabel declared.

“I thought you didn’t believe in coincidences.” Maria reminded. Isabel just looked at her.

“Isabel’s right. If they were going to do something they would have done it already.” Max approved. “Best thing to do is get some rest. Tomorrow, Michael and I will finish this.”

“What are you going to do?” Liz asked concerned for Max.

“Get some questions answered” Max answered. Everyone paused for a moment. Letting the plan sink into their heads, and then headed to their rooms. Liz sat in the middle of the bed and watched as Max changed into some sweat pants and a form-fitting wife beater.

“Max.” She called out softly.

“Yes?”

Chapter 9

Near the Phillips House

The walk back to their house was quiet. When Ava glanced over to Zan, his expression was one of deep thought. Both hands tucked into his pockets and his focus on the pavement. “Hey, you cool?” Ava questioned finally breaking the odd silence.

“Wha? Yeah, I’m cool. Just kind of freaky to see your Olsen face-to-face you know.” Zan said rubbing his chin with a forced grin.

“Yeah, I was buggin’ when I saw that Tess chic.” Ava responded with a fake chuckle.

“Hey, I’m gonna clear my head. You know, let everything register. I’ll be at the crib later, k?” He said as he walked little by little backwards.

“Yeah, sure. See ya.” Ava said sensing something was wrong, but didn’t press him and head home. Zan started from a light walk to a moderate jog, ending up in front room number 16 of The Black Rock Motel.

Black Rock Motel

Liz and Max’s room

“Max.” She called out softly.

“Yes?”

“Are you okay?” She asked walking over to him resting his hand on his shoulder.

“Yeah. How about you?” He asked turning to face her wrapping his arms around her waist.

“I’m better. Now.” She said with a faint smile. “Why does this keep happening to us?” She asked avoiding his eyes.

“I don’t know.” Max answered truthfully.

“Who knows? Maybe some good might come out of so much bad.” She shrugged off, grabbing stuff from her bag and taking it to the bathroom.

In the bathroom

Liz looked at her reflection in the mirror. Taking in a breath and then letting the cold water run from the faucet. She let the sink fill up before scooping up handfuls of ice water and splashing some on her face. She patted her face down, and then looked at the lingerie she snuck into the bathroom. She heard Max turn on the radio, smiled, and then looked back at the lingerie. “What do you say Liz? Are you ready?” Liz asked her reflection. Then tied her hair back before dunking her face in the water. She opened her eyes underneath and began to think. Think of Max.

Out in the room

Max relaxed, lying on the bed trying to release all the tension that had built up. 'What if Liz was right? What if everything happens for a reason and they were in the ends of their bads and in the beginnings of good.’ He thought to himself. It was clear that something was going on with Zan towards Liz, some strong emotion towards her, but how could he if she had never met him before in her life. Soon all the memories they shared flashed before his eyes in slow motion.

Home to Me - Josh Kelley

Isn't it funny how the roads just pass us by
Isn't it crazy how we never get it right
Time is wasted on money and money wasted on lust.
Treat her like a lady and she'll never get enough

Cause' its you that I'm runnin to baby
Its you that I'm feelin for lately and
Its like a pain that never goes away
and it always starts today

Cause you are home to me, Cause you are home to me
Cause you are home to me, Cause you are home to me

Isn't it perfect how the memories feel the same
Isn't it amazing how the song remains unchanged
Time is wasted on money and money wasted on lust
Treat her like a lady and She'll never get enough

Cause' its you that I'm runnin to baby
Its you that I'm feelin for lately and
Its like a pain that never goes away
and it always starts today

Outside the door

Zan slowly made his way towards their door. He placed his hand over the lock and instead of opening it he changed its shape to appear as an old fashion keyhole that resembles a chess pawn and began to peer inside it, seeing Liz come out from the bathroom in a pink satin robe that covered as far as low as her thighs.

Inside the room

Cause' its you that I'm runnin to baby
Its you that I'm feelin for lately and
Its like a pain that never goes away
and it always starts today

“What are you thinking about?” Liz asked seeing Max pondering on the bed with his arms behind his head as she walked over to turn off the lights.

Cause you are home to me, Cause you are home to me

“You.” Max replied softly, turning on the lamp beside him. Letting off a dim rose light caused by the red lampshade. “About us.”

Cause you are home to me, Cause you are home to me

“Really? So was I.” Liz said with a smile, climbing on the end of the bed and then sat on her heels with a cherry smile. Max looked at her with suspicion. She looked happy, better then she did when he last saw her, which was no more than a few minutes ago. Rising to a sitting position he looked at her to continue explaining. Liz bit her lip as her cheeks began to blend into a rosy shade. “I couldn’t help but notice that I was married to you…and…and you haven’t enjoyed me yet.” Liz said embarrassed.

“Enjoyed you?” Max repeated, pushing her chin up to regain eye contact.

“We have been acting like we’re still boyfriend and girlfriend.” Liz said looking down without moving her head. “Maybe because we haven’t called each other husband and wife…I know it’s a stupid idea, but I don’t know. I think it might help. I’ll even go first.” She said rising on her knees and crossing her leg over him and then sitting on his legs. “Max Evans. My husband. My husband. My husband.” She repeated over and over as she gave him a kiss in between each “my husband”.

“Liz Parker….”

“Liz Evans.” She corrected.

“Sorry. Habit." He laughed. "Liz Evans. My love. My soul. My wife.” He added kissing her between each phrase.

Taste- Lorna Vallings

If I could have just a moment of you
Would I be wanting more?

Liz then loss her playfulness and began to look at Max with a serious kindness, brushing his hair back, giving him a long, sweet, kiss. “My husband.” She whispered and then intensified their kiss.

If I could have just a taste of you
Would I be addicted?

Max tightened his arms around her allowing her full access into the depths of his watery mouth. Liz slowly ceased the kiss, cupping the sides of Max’s face. She gazed into his eyes for a moment, and then kissed the center of his forehead. She leaned back lightly holding herself up with her hands on the bed. Her eyes gazed down to the knot that held her robe closed and smiled at him to continue. With shaky hands, Max began to untie the silky knot. When he succeeded, each flap draped down to her sides covering her arms. Max stunned by the beautiful sight a her bare honey toned body, and all that separated him from exploring it was a sheer pink and blue cami, that teased him with a light appearance of her peaked breast and thigh exposing boy shorts to match and tease him as well.

If I could have just a touch of you
Could I tear myself away?

“Are you sure?” He asked getting a kiss for his answer. He returned the kiss and then finished sliding the robe off her shoulders, pulling the thin spaghetti strap of her cami to kiss the skin that it was touching. Liz dropped her head back as he tasted every part of her.

I would pray to be the rain that runs over and in your skin
With no consequence

Liz leaned back up, invoking Max’s lips into hers as she slowly felt every inch of his exposing skin as she lifted his shirt above his head.

To be the liquid in your glass that falls around your lips and mouth
Swallow me

Shortly breaking away to remove it, returning again, Liz had one arm browsing his back while her other hand held his face in place to continue tasting his sweet lips.

If I could have just a breath of you
Would you, could you infect me?

Following Liz’s action’s, Max lifted her cami above her head, kissing every part that was exposed as he did so tossing her cami to the floor. Seeing her breast freely for the first time. Feeling them with his own skin. With his own hands. With his own lips.

If I could have just a view of you
Would you leave your door ajar?
If I could have just a part of you
Let me drink of your tides

Max turned her over to lay on her back in one swift move. Liz grabbed one of the fluffy pillows and covered her private self while she removed the boy shorts smoothly. Max followed her as well and removed his sweat pants and underwear. Standing in front of her almost statue like, allowing her to examine him with her hungry eyes every inch, every cut, before she was confident enough to step off the bed and display her curvy self to him.

I would pray to be the rain that runs over and in your skin
With no consequence
To be the liquid in your glass that falls around your lips and mouth
Swallow me

Max walked up to her and held her tight, feeling her bare back with his fingertips. “My wife.” Liz smile was radiant. He picked up the covers from the bed, wrapped them around himself and her, and led her to lie on the bed.

And after would the silence thicken, stiffen?
Would I run home in the dark with something stolen?
Would you be slinking in my conscience, laughing?
Would this hunger ever cease?

Craving her heat, he cautiously entered her. Liz gasped at the feeling, scrunching her nose and biting her lips. Max was hesitant at first, but felt Liz press down on his back to continue. He slowly pushed himself inside completely, causing Liz to press her forehead against his shoulder blade, to absorb her innocent pain. “Are you okay?” He asked deeply concerned, not knowing if he was causing her normal pain under these circumstances. Liz kissed him and assured her she was fine. “I can heal your pain if you want.” Max suggested.

You are the cliff that I'm walking
Lord help me if I fall
Are you more than my hunger? Baby. babe
Lord help me if I starve

“No.” She answered softly “Max, if this is what I’m suppose to feel with you inside me. I want to feel it. Just promise my three things Max.”

“Anything.” He answered softly.

If I could have just a moment of you
Would I be wanting more?

“Go slow, okay, and speak to me” Liz asked.

“What’s the third?” He asked, brushing her hair back.

“No powers. I want this to be pure.” Liz blushed by her requests.

If I could have just a taste of you
Would I be addicted?

“I promise.” Max said kissing her. “Same for you.” Max added, Liz smiled realizing she was asking him to do stuff that she could do as well.

“I promise.” She said going in for another kiss as Max began to move in and out of her at a stead pace. The sensation cause him to smother her with kisses. On her neck, eyes, her swollen lips. Anywhere that didn’t prevent him from stopping his rhythm.

If I could have just a touch of you
Could I tear myself away?

I would pray to be the rain that runs over and in your skin
With no consequence
To be the liquid in your glass that falls around your lips and mouth
Swallow me

His speed increased with every moan, every ‘Max’ that escaped from her lips. As promised, he kept it pure, calling her name repeatedly, reminding her that he loved her and never stopped.

And after would the silence thicken, stiffen?
Would I run home in the dark with something stolen?
Would you be slinking in my conscience, laughing?
Would this hunger ever cease?

Liz returned the loving kisses to his swollen lips, caressing his body as he did hers. Finding herself on top of him straddling and rocking her thighs, experiencing pain and enjoyment intensifying by his further inch in her from the new position.

You are the cliff that I'm walking
Lord help me if I fall
Are you more than my hunger? Baby. babe
Lord help me if I starve

Discovering and rediscovering each others bodies, Liz and Max continued their rhythmic rhythm until they reached their peaks, breathing heavily as they slowly decreased their movements with tiny kisses to the forehead and lips, and sweet reminisces of their love for one another.

If I could have just a taste of you
Would I be addicted?

Outside the door

Beads of sweat trickled down Zan face as he witnesses Liz’s loss of innocence and pleasure. The silhouette that highlighted her body only made him yearn for her more than before. His dry eye completed a full blink, causing tears to run down from it, not knowing if it was for lack of blinking or by what he just seen. He watched as Max carried her into the bathroom, leaving the room engulfed with their odor of recent passion, which was no secret with the bare mattress and endless giggles the echoed from the shower. He stay and waited until they returned to the room. Watched as they helped each other clean up their mess, giving each other little looks as well as small kisses when ever they passed each other. When they finished cleaning the room, Liz sat on the bed with her back against the head board, while Max placed a pillow on her legs to rest his head on top of it, while Liz ran her fingers through his semi-wet hair. Sometimes she would trail off and end up rubbing his back, adjusting herself quietly to the soreness of having Max inside her. Then finally falling asleep in each others arms. Zan didn’t know where he found the strength to watch someone else ravishing Liz, let alone the strength to carry himself home. But he did because when he woke up he found himself with his boxers only in his room, awakened by the loud chimes of the doorbell ringing. He went downstairs and found Max and Liz, hand-in-hand, in front of him and Michael and Maria behind them.

“Can we talk?” Max asked. Zan opened the door fully and waved for them to come in.

Inside the Pillips house

He led them into the living room, trying to make it less obvious that he was gawking at Liz. “Man, at least you work King hours.” He commented rubbing the sleep from his eyes. “Want some grub?” He asked all of them pointing with his thumb in the direction of the kitchen, getting a ‘no’ from each of them. “So, what’s on your mind?” Zan asked.

“Don’t you want to maybe put some clothes on?” Maria asked, seeing him with his boxers.

“Hey man, you guys came here.” He answered. “Ask your question so I can catch some Z’s.”

“Cassian. Your protector. Is he still here?” Max quickly asked.

“Yeah, he is. He spotted this hellhole for us to hide in. Said no one would find us here, but surprise, surprise.” He said hinting towards them.

“How long where you in Roswell?” Michael asked. “And why didn’t we see you.”

“I got there a two days before they popped me. I knew I had to find that dude Riverdog in the frickin’ dessert, so I left early, but not early enough for Lonnie and Rath to pick up me wasn’t ‘me’, me. Then it turned out you guys got to the old man for the stones.” He answered, but then remembered something else. “I would have left sooner, but I spotted Nicholas and his possy.Man, you guys don’t play in Roswell when it comes to aliens. You must have really pissed Kivar off, Max-a-million. After that it was cake to get the stones. I had Cassians body stashed in the caves and then we waited for everything to cool down.”

“Why did Ava lie to me about you?” Liz asked, Zan stared at her for a minute and then asked what she meant. “About you being dead.”

“I knew Kivar was a loser, Lonnie had her own plans, she wanted to be Vilandra so bad. When we found out we were sloppy seconds, I knew I was toast. I would have never made it through the summit alive. Either way someone was going to pop me. Ava didn’t have to go through that. She had my back no matter what, even when she thought I was dead. When I saw Ava again, she told me Max-a-million went to The Big Apple with the Misses, I knew we were screwed. If old boy said no, he was dead, and since we were back up they’d be coming after us. As long as you guys live, we stay alive.”

“Why did you come after Liz?” Max asked tightening his jaw.

Chapter 10

“Why did you come after Liz?” Max asked tightening his jaw.

“That’s my business, bro.” Zan snapped cracking his knuckles.

“No. Liz is my wife, so therefore it is my problem.” Max threatened in the same tone Zan had. “So tell me or else!”

“You think you can flex because you got home boy over there to back you up.” Zan questioned with a small chuckle. “Please. Get this, Max-a-million. Just because Rath ain’t here doesn’t mean I don’t have a second.” Zan stated leaving a since of an empty threat in the air as they both stared at each other face to face.

“I don’t need Michael to help me handle someone like you.” Max answered quickly, causing everyone else to stand up as well, just in case the two were about to duke it out.

“That’s right. Because you’re “the Man”, isn’t that right, Max-a-million.” Zan added with sarcasm and jealousy combined. “Mr. High and Mighty.”

“Hey! Knock it off!” Michael yelled, causing Maria to wiggle nervously behind him.

“Keep it down, you’re making Luscious over there nervous.” Zan said pointing to Maria.

“Luscious? No. No. No. The names Maria” Maria corrected jazzy.

“Feisty. Rath would have dug you, don’t know why he kicked it to Liz instead of you. You're more his type of chic. Is there somethin’ wrong wit her?” Zan asked Michael, who just pondered at the question.

“What? Nothing!” Maria yelled back offended slapping Michael across the arm. “Wait, did Ava tell you that the Michael twin kissed Liz?”

“What?” Both Max and Michael questioned the brand new news that hit their intriguing ears this time.

“I was there when it happened, Luscious. Woulda helped too, but I heard her laughing in disgust.” He flashed a smile at Liz causing her to smile as well. “I was even there at ‘the place by the thing that you two went to with what’s-her-name’.” He said with a sly grin. Maria and Liz just looked at each other and laughed, knowing he was referring to the fountain.

“I never saw you.” Liz questioned.

“Doesn’t mean I wasn’t there.” Zan answered with a husky tone. “I was even there when Max-a-million dissed you. How many Max’s have there been in your life?”

“Too many.” Maria snorted. Liz shot an angry look at her. “What? There was shape shifting Max, future Max, hero Max…”She said pointing to Max “…and now defective Max” She said pointing to Zan with her chin.

“Hey, there ain’t nothin’ "defective" about me, Luscious. Ain’t that right, honey.” He snapped giving a smirk to Liz.

“What the hell is that suppose to mean?” Max questioned.

“Ask her.” Zan suggested tossing himself on the couch. Max turned and faced Liz.

“Liz?” Max called out, awaiting an answer.

“I saw flashes…of him.” Liz answered slowly as she sat back down, causing everyone else to sit right after her.

“What did you see?” Zan asked.

“You. Ava. Me. Why? Ava loves you so much.”

“I love her too, but not in the same way.” Hearing him say that trigger Liz’s memory to when Max said something similar to that. Before he was leaving her. When he found out Liz was still a virgin and when they discovered it was Tess that killed Alex. “You’re different. You gave up everything for the Royal Four, even your pride, just for him. So I just figured maybe the destiny thing wasn’t such a load of bull. Maybe Max-a-million was supposed to hook up with the fourth and I was suppose to hook up with you? I always felt like someone was out there. When I went to Roswell, I knew it was you.”

“I doubt what you were feeling was love. You were probably sensing Tess. She turned out to be evil, maybe her and Ava got switched at birth or something.” Maria answered in disbelief.

“I know what I felt. What I don’t understand is four Max-a-millions, so why do you keep going back to his one?” Zan asked hinting towards Max.

“I love him.” Liz answered. “There’s only one Max for me.”

“Whatever floats your boat” He shrugged off her answer. “So human sex what’ that like?” He quickly changed the subject, getting a pale reaction from the four of them. “What? Don’t act like you guys haven’t banged. Alien sex is the bomb, just wonderin’ about human sex.”

“Keep wondering.” Michael answered.

“Hey, I answered your quiz now I got questions of my own.” Zan stated, seeing them debated the issue with their eyes and then finally gave in.

“What do you want to know?” Max asked.

“Why are you guys here? I thought you guys were like the frickin’ 'Brady Bunch' in Roswell. Working together. Living together.”

“We’re on the run from the FBI Special Unit.” Max informed him.

“Wicked. What’d you do?”

“Long story.” Michael added. “What stuff from home do you have?”

“What?”

“We got the orbs. The stones. The destiny book. What do you guys have?”

“What you guys do, hold up an Antar souvernir store or somethin’?” Zan questioned. “I only got one thing. Come on.” He said leading them to his room. When he entered his room he moved his dresser to the side then waved his hand over the wall, making a silver handprint appear and glow. He placed his hand on top and his hand went straight through it. Liz and Max gasped remembering seeing Tess doing the same thing in the library when she got the destiny book.

"Are you telling us we have our own security deposit box and we've been digging holes in the freaking dessert?" Michael asked hysterical and annoyed. "What other powers do we not know we have?"

"Hundreds." When Zan pulled his hand out, he brought back a pendent with the four square symbol on it. Liz pulled out the pendent Max had returned to her with the alien swirl symbol from underneath her shirt and showed it to Zan. When Zan accidentally touched Liz to get a closer look of the two pendants side-by-side, a quick flash of light appeared from the pendants like when the orbs were activated and Liz collapsed to the floor after getting a future flash before her eyes.

“Liz. Are you okay?” Max asked as he was helping her up.

“Max we have to go.” Liz said as she regained control.
