Rating: Teen
Summary: Liz Parker is the smartest most involved girl in school. Max Evans is the school’s all-star football and basketball player. In elementary school the two of them use to be really good friends, but they grew apart as they got older and started hanging out with different groups. But all that is soon to change when they are through back together because of unusual circumstances.
Authors' Note: It is their sophomore year in high school. Max and Isabel are the Evans' biologically children, and they are twins. Michael is already emancipated and Hank is his Uncle. Plus He didn’t start being friends with Max and Isabel until the sixth grade, and he plays sports with Max. There are no aliens.

Prologue

“Come on Liz,” Kim said as they stood next to Liz’s locker. “You need to get over Kyle. It’s been like a week."

“Kim, I don’t want to go because of Kyle. I just don’t want to go because I don’t want to go,” Liz stated.

“Are you sure you not depressed about Kyle breaking up with you last week?”

“I am positive and besides Kyle and I were not that serious. It was a mutually decision to break up.”

“Well then fine. Then, You just need to learn to have some fun.”

“I have fun,” Liz said taking a book out of her locker. “Just because I would rather go to the go to a football game instead of a party … or that I actually find joy in club meetings and whatnot does not mean that I do not know how to have fun.”

“Whatever, Liz. I am having a St. Patrick’s Day party this Friday and you are coming,” Kim stated.

“Umm, I don’t know.”

“Liz! You are coming and you are going to tell your parents that you are spending the night. I will not take no for an answer.”

“Fine, but under one condition.”

“What is that?”

“Alex and Maria are invited too,” Liz said sweetly closing her locker door.

“But I don’t get along with Maria.”

“That is my condition.”

“Fine, whatever you want,” Kim says then turns her attention to something behind Liz. “But that doesn’t mean that I have to talk to her now. Bye.” Kim walks off causing Liz to look behind her to see Maria and Alex coming up to her.

“Oh, what did the wrench have to say,” Maria asked.

Liz just rolled her eyes. “She is not a wrench and she just invited us to a party she is having this Friday.”

“All of us,” Alex inquired.

“Of course.”

“Right,” Maria said raising an eyebrow, “because she likes us so much.”

“All right, so she invited me and I told her the only way I would go was is if you two went.”

“Well, I’m in,” Alex stated. “Maybe I will get to see Isabel Evans there.”

Maria and Liz rolled their eyes and started to walk off to lunch.

“What I say?” Alex asked running after them.

**************************************

Kim walked into the band room to find a friend of hers playing with the drums. She slowly walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his waist. “So did you get the stuff?”

“Umm, and if I did? What are you going to do for me?” He asked as he turned around to face her.

“What do want me to do?” Kim asked in a seductive tone as she licked his ear.

“Well, there are no more classes in here for the next two periods. I am sure we can think of something,” he said as he began to run some kisses down her throat.

********************************

“So, are we going to this party this weekend,” Michael asked Max and Isabel as walked toward their table in the quad.

“Who did you say was turning it,” Isabel asked talking a seat.

“That Kim girl,” Michael said as he and Max followed Isabel’s led and sat down.

“The girl that hangs with Liz Parker?” Max inquired.

“Yeah, I think. Liz Parker is that smart girl in our class,” Michael asked.

“Yeah, that’s her,” Isabel answered. “Did you know that she and Max use to hang out all the time in elementary school?”

“Really?”

“Yeah, they were inseparable.”

“Isabel,” Max warned.

“So, what happened?” Michael asked taking a bite of his sandwich.

“Oh, he got popular in middle school and forgot all about her,” Isabel teased.

“Isabel you have no room to talk. You use to always hang out with Alex Whitman in elementary and then you got popular,” Max rebutted.

“Whatever.”

********************************

“Liz, I really don’t want to go. You know that Kim and I don’t like each other,” Maria said as she sat down at their usual lunch table. "More than that ... we HATE each other."

“Please Maria. I really want you to go. You know that I don’t really like parties. I need you there to keep me company,” Liz pleaded as she and Alex down too.

“No, I do not like that girl,” Maria exclaimed.

“Which I have never understood.”

“Because I don’t get good vibes from her. And besides the only reason that you are friends with her is because in sixth grade she had two classes with you that neither Alex nor I was in, and the two of you became friends by default. But guess what sixth grade is over, yet we can seem to get rid of the girl.”

“Maria, please just come to the party with me.”

“Well, Alex said he was going,” Maria stated.

“Yeah, but he is going to spend the whole time drooling over the Ice Queen,” Liz responded.

“Hey! Can the two of you stop talking about me like I am not here,” Alex commented. “And I will not being drooling.”

“Whatever Alex. I don’t even know why you waste your time. You have never even had a real conversation with the girl,” Maria declared.

“That’s not true,” Alex defended. “I use to hang out with her all the time.”

“Yeah, maybe in elementary school. We all use to hang out with Max and Isabel Evans back then but they got popular and forgot all about us,” Maria responded.

“So what,” Liz added. “We all grew apart. Big deal; it happens all the time. Anyway now back to this party. Maria you have to come. Please.” Liz was looking at Maria with puppy dog eyes.

“Ok, Ok. But you better keep that wrench away from me.”

************************************

Kim sat up and started buttoning her shirt. “Alright, now where is the stuff.”

The guy sat up besides her and handed her a small zip lock bag with a few pills in it. “Here you go precious. It was a pleasure doing business with you.”

“I’m sure,” Kim said as she got up and walked out of the band room without another word.

Chapter One

Post by Magical »

Thanks ... your feedback is really encouraging. Well, here is the next chapter ... hope you like it.

Chapter One

“Why am I here again?” Maria asked as she, Liz, and Alex walked into Kim’s house. The music was blooming and the air reeked of alcohol and smoke. There were kids all over the place and it was hard to move around.

“Because I asked you come and since you are my best friend and love me so much you agreed to come,” Liz said struggling through the crowds with her overnight bag.

“Do you think Isabel is here?” Alex asked.

“Oh Alex. You are hopeless,” Liz laughed while Maria just rolled her eyes.

It was at the moment that Kim came up to them with a drink in her hand. “I was starting to worry that you were not going to show up,” she yelled above the music.

“I told you that we were going to come,” Liz responded.

“Well, good. Now, why don’t you go put your stuff in the guest room and come enjopy the party,” Kim said. “And Alex the Ice Queen is out by the pool.”

Before anyone could say anything else Alex was gone causing the girls to laugh hysterically.

****************************************

“Max here comes Tess Harding,” Michael said giving Max a nudge.

“Umm. I can’t stand that little cheerleader,” Isabel said under breath.

“Hey Max,” Tess said in a bubbly voice.

“Hi Tess,” Max said with a weak smile.

“Gosh, isn’t this a great party.”

“Sure.”

“Well, come dance withe me," Tess said pulling Max with her to the dance floor before he could say anything.

**********************************

Kim walked into the kitchen and took two cups filling them with juice. Then she took her poison ring and poured half of its contents into one of the cups.

“There you are,” Liz said as she and Maria walked into the kitchen. “What are you doing?”

“Oh just getting you two something to drink. I know that you didn’t want any alcohol and the punch out there is spiked. So here is a virgin drink,” Kim said holding up the cups.

“Oh thank you,” Liz said taking the cup with drugs in it.

“Yeah thanks,” Maria said taking the other cup.

“Alright guys. Now have fun and remember don’t put your drink down. I would hate for anyone to slip you something.”

**************************************

“I'm surprise that you were able to get away from the cheerleader,” Michael joked as he and Max walked to the poolside bar.

“Yeah. One of her friends was having some crisis so she took her home.”

“Lucky you.”

**************************************

Kim was standing behind the bar serving drinks when Kyle came up. “Hey Kyle.”

“Hey Kim,” Kyle said. “Great party.”

“Thanks. So what can I get you?”

“Umm, just some punch.”

Kim took a cup and poured some punch into it. Then it was at that moment that Michael and Max came up to the table and stood at the back of the line. Kyle turned and saw them, which allowed Kim to pour the rest of the contents of her ring into his cup unnoticed.

“Hey guys,” Kyle said taking the cup and walking over to Max and Michael at the back of the drinks line. “How are you guys enjoying yourself?”

“Pretty good, expect Max over here is really thirsty after spending some time on the dance floor with Tess,” Michael teased.

“Oh yeah, I saw you guys,” Kyle laughed. “Here you could use this more than me.” He handed Max his cup.

“Naw, that’s ok,” Max said shaking his head.

“Oh go ahead. I can get another one.”

“Thanks man.” Max said taking the cup and drinking the whole thing in a few gulps.

*****************************************

“Oh no,” Kim said under breath as she saw Max chug the drink that was meant for Kyle.

***************************************

Liz and Maria were dancing together on the dance floor. Both of them being the center of attention with the way they were swaying their hips to the music. Everyone was extremely surprise to see Liz out there, because no one had ever since her like this before.

“Whoa!” Liz said throwing her hands up in the air to the music.

Maria laughed and continued to dance. The two of them were having such a great time, so they dance for a few more dances until Liz got a little dizzy.

“Liz, what has gotten into you,” Maria asked guiding her off the dance floor.

“I don’t know, but my head is starting to spin,” Liz said gripping the floor for balance.

“Umm, since you are spending the night, why don’t you go ahead upstairs,” Kim said coming up behind them. “Maybe you just need to lie down.”

“Yeah, I hate to agree with Kim, but I think she is right,” Maria said.

“Al … alright, wh… whatever you guys say,” Liz shuttered.

**************************************

“Max, are you alright,” Isabel asked.

“I’m fine,” Max laughed.

“You don’t seem fine,” Michael said.

“Yeah, you look like you’re drunk,” Isabel added.

“I’m fine,” Max assured.

“But, Max …” Isabel began.

“I said I was fine. Now just leave me allow,” Max snapped as he walked off.

******************************************

Kim couldn't help but smile as she walked downstairs from putting Liz to bed. She had just watched Max walk away from his sister and best friend. She had thought that her plan was ruined when Max accidentally drunk the drink she made for Kyle, but now it seemed her plan was still a go.

“Umm, Max are you looking for something,” Kim asked sweetly coming up behind him.

“Yeah, I’m looking for the bathroom.”

“Oh well, why don’t you follow me,” Kim said leading him upstairs. “You can use the bathroom in the guest room. That way you don’t have to wait in line.”

“Thanks,” Max said as they stopped in front of a room.

“Here you go right in here,” Kim said opening the door to let him. Then closed and locked it behind him.

*****************************************

Max washed his hands, turned off the light to the bathroom, and walked into the dark bedroom. He felt his way over to the door, but found that it was locked. He tried to unlock it, but he was finding it increasingly diffcult. Then he thought maybe he could just bang the door down, so he took a few steps back and bumped into the bed.

“Oo, a bed,” Max said feeling around on the mattress forgetting all about his previous idea. “Umm maybe I could lay down for a while since my head is spinning a little bit,” he said out loud to himself.

He took off his shoes and shirt before lying down. He was lying there for just a few moments before he felt an arm come over his stomach. He started to slowly caress the skin because he couldn’t get over how soft and smooth it was.

Liz moan at the feel of someone caressing her arm. She had started to fall asleep when she felt tender touches against her skin. She moved closer to the source of her pleasure.

Max felt his groin harden at the sound of Liz’s moan. And when she moved closer he pulled her on top of him and brought her mouth to him in a searching kiss than soon escalated into much ... much more.

Chapter Two

Liz slowly began to regain consciousness. Her head was killing her and she felt like she was going to be sick. It was then that she felt an arm across her waist. She slowly opens her eyes and turned so that she was on her back in bed to find Max Evans sleeping beside her. Soon she realizes that the two of them are naked, and she could feel soreness between her legs.

“Oh my God,” Liz cried softly covering her face with her hands.

Max began to stir when he felt movement next to him. Then he heard the sad voice of a female. He slowly opened his eyes to find Liz Parker with her hands over her face crying softly. As he became more aware of his surroundings he too realized that they were naked and that he had his arm around her waist.

Liz felt Max slowly move his arm and sit up. She stopped crying and took her hand down her from her face; then, she too sat up with the sheet covering her body. The two of them sat there in silence for what felt like forever.

“So umm it looks like we…,” Max trailed off.

“Yeah it looks like we did,” Liz confirmed softly.

“Look, I’m really …”

“Max, you don’t have to say anything. It happened and now it’s over. What’s done is done. So I am going to take this sheet, wrap it around me, and go to the bathroom. I hope you are gone when I get out, and I will just see you at school,” Liz said nonchalantly as she got up from the bed and walked to the bathroom closing the door softly behind her.

Max sat there is shocked for a few minutes. He couldn’t believe what just happened. Most girls would have been clingy or something, but no she got up and left. That was normally his exit. Finally, he got up and began to get dress. When he was done he went over to the bathroom and was going to knock but decided against it and left.

*****************************************

Liz walked into the kitchen to find Kim eating from cereal and watching Saturday morning cartoons.

“Good morning,” Liz said softly making her presence known.

“Good morning,” Kim said looking up from the television. “So it looks like you had an interesting night. I just saw Max leave a short while ago.”

“So it seems.”

“Well, I’m happy that you had a good time. I almost thought that my hard work was ruined.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Well, last night I slipped some ecstasy into your drink … you know to help you loosen up. And I was also going to give some to Kyle Valenti. Then I was going to arrange for the two of you to spend some one on one time. But Max Evans ended up drinking it, and I thought that my hard was going to go to waste, but then an opportunity presented itself and I sent Max into your room instead. He had no idea you were in there, but I knew that the two of you find each other and end up having a good time. Looks like I was right.”

Liz stood there in shock as she listened to Kim tell her everything that she had done. She didn’t know what to say, and she was frozen in place.

“So how was it?” Kim inquired with a smug look on her face.

It was at that moment that Liz found her voice. “How was it? How was it?! I can’t believe you could do this to me, Kim! You put something in my drink to impair my judgment and then put a guy in my room in the same condition. So now because of you and your actions I had sex for the first time with someone I barely even know. Do you know how it feels to wake up in some stranger’s arms and realize that you just had sex but really remember how you go there? Let me tell you … fucking scary. How could you do this to me? I thought you were my friend.”

“Liz, I am your friend. I just want you to loosen up and have a little fun,” Kim explained.

“Well, you really loosened me up didn’t you,” Liz said harshly.

“Liz…”

“You know what Kim? I really don’t want to see you right now. I’m leaving and I suggest that you say the fuck away from me,” Liz said storming out of the room.

*******************************************

Max climbed through his window, grabbed a pair of sweat pants from him dresser, and made a beeline for the bathroom. While he was in there he proceed to take a shower and get dressed. Then, he walked back to his room with the intentions of getting in the bed and going to sleep, but when he walked in his room he found Isabel sitting on the edge of his bed.

“Isabel, I am not in the mood,” Max said getting into bed.

Not caring what Max said Isabel pressed, “Where were you last night? When you weren’t in your room this morning I had to lie and tell Mom that you were sleeping over Michael’s.”

“Thanks. Now can you leave me alone? I have a really bad headache,” Max said pulling the covers over his head.

“Max, I want to know what happened. First, you were acting really weird last night; then, you just disappeared.

Max knew he had to tell her something, so took the covers from over his face and looked at his sister. “Yeah, I am real sorry about the way I acted. But nothing happened; I think I had to much to drink and I passed out in one of the rooms at the party.”

“So you are alright now?”

“Yeah, except for this major hang over.”

“Alright then. I will hold all your calls and tell Mom that you are not feeling good because of something you ate,” Isabel getting up from the bed.

“Thanks, Iz. I own you one.”

“No problem, what are sisters for? Call me if you need anything,” she said as she walked out of the room closing the door behind her.

Now that Max was alone he tried to get some sleep, but he couldn’t stop thinking about Liz Parker. He couldn’t believe that he had slept with her. Yeah, sure it wasn’t his first time, but Liz Parker was the last person he expected to have in his arms when he woke up. And then the way she just got out of bed was still bothering him. But that was not what was bothering him the most. What was bothering him the most was that he couldn’t seem to forget how perfect she felt lying there next to him. The way her soft warm skin felt against him…

“Umm, I’m in trouble,” Max groaned as felt himself harden at the thought of Liz Parker.

**********************************************

Liz walked into her room, dropping her bag at her door, and jump in her bed. She pulled the covers over her face and just lye there for a moment. Her head was spinning. She could believe that she had slept with Max Evans and that it was all thanks to Kim’s stupidity. Gosh, how was she going to face either of them in school on Monday? With those thoughts on her mind Liz cried herself to sleep.

Ok, yeah I am sorry that I have not updated this story in awhile ... especially since I already have the next two chapters written and typed ... they just need to be proof read. Anyhoo, it seems that I started this story at an interesting time ... you see when I started this story I also started to explore the world of Polarism. Well, I can honestly say that I am no longer a Dreamer and now a Die-Hard Polarist. But since I already started this story and I have most of it already planned out I am determined to finish it. You are just going to have to push me a little. Thanks for reading and I hope I don't disappoint. Well, here is the next chapter ....

Chapter Three
Two Months Later …

“Oh my God,” Maria from her spot on Liz’s bed. “I can’t believe that school is finally out, and we are going to be juniors next year.”

“Yeah and that our little Lizzie is going to be vice president of Student Council,” Alex added from his spot behind Liz’s computer.

Liz said nothing has she sat curled up in the chair under her window. It had been two months since Kim’s party and she hadn’t spoken to Kim or Max. As a matter of fact, she had been avoiding both of them like the plague. She just couldn’t face them. She was too embarrassed to look at Max, and the sight of Kim made her blood boil.

“So, I noticed that the wrench hasn’t been around lately,” Maria said tearing Liz from her thoughts.

“Yeah, well she and I got into a fight two months ago,” Liz said pulling her legs tighter to her body.

“Not that I am complaining, but is that why you have been in such a mood lately,” Maria asked.

“What are you talking about? I haven’t been in a mood.”

“No, Maria is right,” Alex injected. “To the untrained eye everything may look fine, but we know you Liz. We have been friends since kindergarten. So are you finally going to tell us what’s wrong?”

Liz looked at her friends and saw the concern in both their eyes. It was in that moment that she just started to cry. Alex and Maria didn’t know what to do, so they hurried over to the chair sitting on the arms trying to comfort Liz the best way they could.

“What’s wrong?” Maria asked desperately.

“Oh guys, I don’t even know where to start,” Liz cried.

“Well, the beginning is normally a good place,” Alex joked.

Liz smiled little through her tears. “God, I love you guys.”

“Ok, we love you too. Now tell us what has got you so worked up,” Maria demanded.

Liz took a deep breath and began to recall the events of that night. She told them everything from how she woke up in Max’s arms to Kim confession. By the end of the story she was crying again.

Maria made Liz get up and walk over to bed. Then she proceed to let Liz lay her head in her lap while she stroked her hair letting her friend cry. Alex sat at the edge of the bed just rubbing Liz’s back.

When Liz calmed down a bit she sat up and looked at her friends. “You know I never even told Max what really happened. I know I should have but I just haven’t been able to face him.”

“It’s ok. What’s done is done,” Alex said softly

“And I swear if I get my hands on that little wrench I am going to kick her ass,” Maria added.

“And I wouldn’t stop you,” Liz smiled then turned serious. “But I am afraid that what’s done is not done.”

“What are you talking about?” Alex asked.

“Well, I haven’t been feeling well lately and I’ve missed my last two periods,” Liz explained.

“Oh my God, you don’t mean?” Maria asked.

“We didn’t use protection. And I am not sure, but I am almost positive,” Liz said as she got up from the bed and walked over to her dresser. “I did buy this a few days ago.” Liz puts an at-home pregnancy test out of her top drawer.

“Are you going to take the test?” Alex asked.

“Yeah, I guess. I’ve just been so scared, because if the results confirm what I already suspect there is no more denying it,” Liz stated.

Maria stood up and walked over to Liz bringing her into a tight embrace. “Well we are here with you. Right, Alex?”

Alex got up and joined the hug. “Of course.”

*********************************

“So what’s up with you and Tess Harding,” Michael asked as he pulled a Snapple from his refrigerator.

Max look up from his place on the sofa, “What are you talking about?”

“Well, it’s just that for the past two months you have been spending a lot of time with Tess,” Isabel explained from her seat on the counter.

“Yeah and it looks kind of serious,” Michael said sitting on the other side of the sofa.

“It’s not serious. I have just taken her on a few dates,” Max said nonchalantly.

“Oh we figured that something was going on. You know because you have been really weird since that party,” Isabel said.

“I have not been weird.”

“Sure you have. You have become withdrawn and you never what to spend time with us anymore,” Michael said.

“Yeah, you only want to spend time with Tess,” Isabel added.

“I’m here right aren’t I,” Max snapped. “I swear you guys are being ridiculous.”

“Are we?” Isabel asked standing up. “Because it’s obvious there has been something going on with you. Come on I’m your sister … your twin sister, we shared a womb for nine months … and Michael is your best friend. Don’t you think that we would notice if something was wrong?”

Max looked at this sister and best friend and realized that he didn’t need to hide from them. They were the two people he could trust most in the world. So he sighed. “You guys are right. There has been something on my mind lately. And I knew that you guys would be able to tell. That’s why I have been opting to spend time with Tess instead, because she would have been none the wiser.”

“So are you going to tell us now,” Isabel asked sitting down between Michael and Max on the sofa.

Max looked at the both of them and took a deep breath. “Well you guys remember how I was acting kind of loopy at that party two weeks ago?"

“Yeah. You said you had to much spiked punch,” Isabel answered.

“Yeah, well after I left you guys I ran I into that Kim girl while I was looking for the bathroom. She told me to use the bathroom in her guest bedroom upstairs. Well, when I got out of the bathroom the room was really dark and when I got to the door it was locked. Then I bumped into the bed and realized that my head was spinning so I took off my shirt and got in the bed."

“You said that you passed out in one of the rooms, but what does all this have to do with you mood,” Isabel asked.

“Well, if you let me finish I will you tell,” Max said then paused for a moment before continuing. “Anyway, it turns out that I was not in the bed by myself. And whoever was in there must have already been a slept because I suddenly felt an arms come across my stomach.”

“Oh,” both Isabel and Michael said in unison as they realized where this story was going.

“Yeah and one thing ended up leading to another,” Max finished.

“So you and whoever was in the bed slept together,” Michael asked even though he already knew the answer.

“Yup, and you will never guess who it was,” Max responded.

“Tess? I mean is that why you have been spending some much time with her,” Isabel asked.

“Nope. It was Liz Parker,” Max said causing Michael and Isabel’s mouths to drop.

*****************************

“Beep. Beep. Beep,” was the sound the alarm made signaling that time was up. Liz, Maria, and Alex were sitting on the edge of the bed in complete silence while they waited.

Maria got and turned off the alarm. When she turned to look at her friends she saw Alex looking at a frozen Liz.

“I don’t know it I can look,” Liz said suddenly not moving a muscle.

“Do you want me to look?” Maria asked softly.

Liz looked up at Maria with tears in her eyes and shook her head, “No, I need to do this.” So she got and walked into the bathroom to only return and few moments later with the stick in her hand. She held it up for both of them to see that the strip was pink. “Looks like I’m pregnancy,” Liz whispered as the tears began to flow from her eyes.

****************************

“Liz Parker?!” Both Isabel and Michael yelled in unison.

“Yeah, I woke up to find her lying on her back crying with her hands over her face,” Max said.

“Oh my God,” Isabel whisper in shock.

“What did you do? What did she do?” Michael pressed.

“Well, I sat up in bed to let her know that I was up. Then she stopped crying, sat up too and the two us sat there is silence for a few moments. Then I was going to say something and she stopped him. She told me not say anything and that ‘What’s done is done.’ Then she got up and when into the bathroom,” Max explain. “I haven’t spoken to her since; she has been avoiding.”

“Well, can you blame her,” Isabel asked, “I mean Liz is not the type of girl to just sleep with someone on a whim. She must have been drunk too.”

“Yeah,” Max said in a low voice, “and I think that it was her first time, because we I got out of bed I notice some blood on the sheets.”

“Oh my God,” Isabel said again. “She must be devastated, but you would never know it if she was. I mean the past two months she hasn’t shown any signs something being the matter. I mean she even ran for Student Council vice president.”

“I don’t know what to tell you,” Max said softly.

The three of them sat there in silence for a few moments just absorbing everything that was just said. Then finally Michael spoke up.

“So how are you hanging all this,” Michael asked. “I mean obviously this hasn’t settle to easy with you.”

“I really don’t know,” Max admitted. “I mean I want to talk to her about it, but it’s obvious that she wants nothing to do with me. That’s why I have been spending time with Tess, in hopes of getting Liz off my mind.”

“And it hasn’t been working,” Isabel stated more than asked.

“No it hasn’t. No matter what I do I just can’t get Liz Parker out of my mind. Shoot, I even dream about her … and that night,” Max confessed.

“Wow, that’s crazy,” Michael said.

“So do you have feelings for her?” Isabel asked.

“I don’t know. Maybe it just infatuation because of the way everything played out. I mean she was the one that left me in bed … that was first,” Max laughed.

Michael laughed too while Isabel just rolled her eyes.

Ooo, I just had a thought ... would anyone be willing to help me write this story? I mean because I really want to finish it ... but I am not that modivated. So I figured maybe if I got someone to write it with me we can modivated each other to get it finish. Plus since my heart is no longer with the couple ... I could use a Dreamer to help with the chemistry between Max and Liz. So do I have any volunteers? PM if you want to give it a try. :D

Hey everyone,
Well, here is the next part. I hope that you guys like it. Also, btw I am still looking for a co-writer. So if you are interested ... please let me know!

Chapter Four

It has been two days since she found out that she was pregnant. Now she was lying here in her bed trying to plan out her next move. She knew that she would never get an abortion. Also, she knew that when her parents found out she they would support her … and there was always her favorite Uncle Lynn who would do anything for her … so she didn’t want to give it up for adoption. So, now that she was going to keep it, she knew that she was going to have to tell Max. It was only fair; it was his child too. But the question was how was she going to tell him? Maybe she should just go over there and tell him.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

It was midnight and Max still couldn’t sleep. Even though he felt better since he told Michael and Isabel about what happened, he still couldn’t get Liz out of his head. So here he was now looking at old picture of them when they were in elementary school. Currently, he was looking at a picture of himself, Liz, Isabel, Alex, and Maria they took on field day in the second grade. He could help but notice how much of a team they use to be.

“Tap. Tap,” was the sound outside his window bringing him out of his personal ravine. Max groaned as he got up from the bed thinking it was Michael, when he use to always come to him window when he was leaving with his Uncle Hank.

“Michael it’s midnight,” Max said pulling back the curtains only to see Liz Parker standing on the other side biting her lower lip. “Liz?” He quickly opened the window. “What are you doing here?”

“Umm, I thought that maybe we should talk,” Liz said sheepishly. “I know that it’s kind of late, but I couldn’t sleep and I finally got up the nerve to come over here. So I figured I better just come over here now and if you were up then we would talk and if not then I would just leave. But when I came up to your window I noticed that your light was on so before I lost my cool I knocked on the window. But if this is a bad ti…”

“No, no,” Max said cutting into Liz’s ramble. “I was up. Why don’t you come in?”

Max offered his hand to help her through. She accepted and both of them both of them felt a jolt when they touch, but neither of them said anything about it. When she was in Max closed the window and the two of them just stood there looking at each other for what seemed like forever.

Finally Liz broke the silence. “Umm, maybe this was a bad idea,” she said making her way back to the window.

“No,” Max said gently grabbing her arm. “I am happy that you came. I thought that we should talk too, but when you started to avoid me at school, I decided to keep my distance. Here why don’t you come and sit down.” He led her to his computer chair. When she was seated he took a seat in front of her on the edge of his bed.

Liz took deep breath. “Yeah, I am sorry about that. I just didn’t know what to say, and I was so embarrassed. I had never done anything like that before.”

“I know,” Max said softly and when he saw the confused look on her face he continued. “I saw the blood on the sheets, so it was my guess that it was your first time.”

“Oh,” was all she could say in response, then she shook off the uneasy feelings she was having and pressed on. “Well, while that is true, that is not what I came here to talk to you about.”

“Isn’t not? Then what do you want to talk about?”

“Well, I think you should know what really happened that night.”

“What are you talking about? Are you saying we didn’t …”

“No, we did,” Liz interrupted. “But you don’t know the details of how we got to that point.” From there she when on to tell him about everything that Kim did. When she was finish she saw the shocked the look on his face. “I wanted to tell you sooner, but I just couldn’t face you.”

“That’s ok. You told me now,” Max said off-handedly.

“Yeah.”

The two of them sat there in silence for a few minutes. Liz wanted to give him a few minutes to absorb everything she told him before she dropped the next bomb. Max didn’t know what to say. He knew something was a little off about that night, because he felt like he had no control and now he knew why.

“So that explains why it was so hard to stop,” Max said suddenly.

Liz looked at him kind of shocked but responded. “Yeah I guess.”

“Oh gosh, I’m sorry. I was just thinking out loud,” Max said when he realized what he just said. “I am sure that this can’t be any easier for you, especially since Kim was suppose to be your good friend.”

“Yeah, well that notion proved to be wrong. I haven’t spoken to her since that morning when she told me what she did. I mean what was I suppose to say to her?”

“Right,” Max said softly. “So how are you?” He asked switching gears.

“Umm, I’m fine.”

“Really? Because I don’t know if I would be fine if I found out that my friend set me up the way Kim set you up.”

“Well, I have had time to get over it,” Liz said. “But I really don’t want to talk about that anymore.” She paused for a moment. “There is something else I need to tell you.”

“Ok.”

“There is no easy way to say this so I am just going to come out and say it … I’m pregnant.”

“You’re what?” Max asked not quite sure if he heard her correctly.

“I’m pregnant. I found out two days ago,” She started. “But I just want to you know that I don’t want you to feel obligated in taking responsible for this child. I know that once I tell my parents they will support me, and we will be able to get by. I just thought that you had the right to know that I was pregnant and that I was keeping the baby.”

Max just looked at Liz in shock. He didn’t know what to say to her. First, she comes and tells him about her ex-friend slipped both of them some ecstasy. Now she was telling him that she was pregnant with his baby.

Liz could tell that he was in shock. “You know what I can tell that this is a lot to take in at once. So I am going to leave you my cell number.” She takes a piece clean paper off his desk and scribbles her number on it then gets up. “I am going to go so you can think this over. Just call me when you want to talk.” She started to make her way to the window.

“Wait,” Max said standing up. “How did you get over here?”

“I walked.”

“Well, why don’t you let my drive you home?”

“That’s ok. I can walk.”

“No. I would really feel better if I drove you.”

“Ok.”

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Max and Liz were sitting in Max’s jeep on the side of the Crashdown in silent. They had been sitting here for the past five minutes; neither of them not sure what to say or do.

“Well, thank you for the ride,” Liz said softly as she took off her seat beat.

“Sure no problem,” Max said finally looking at her.

“Good night,” Liz said standing on the side of the jeep.

“Yeah good night. I will call you tomorrow,” he said.

“Oh, you don’t have to call tomorrow. Take some time and really think about what I said. I wouldn’t say anything to my parents until you and I have really had a chance to talk this over,” Liz said.

“No. I will call you tomorrow,” Max said.

“Ok then. Bye.” Liz didn’t wait for him to respond. She quickly made her way around the jeep and up fire escape leading to her balcony.

Well, here is the next chapter everyone ... I hope you guys like it. Also I want you guys to know that lizzy3686 as agreed to co-writer this story with me and she will be writing the next chapter.

Chapter Five

“You know,” Michael started as he went to the Evans refrigerator to pour himself some juice, “I was thinking that maybe I should get a job.”

Isabel looked up at Michael from her oatmeal, “Excuse me? You work?”

“Yeah, me work,” Michael said rolling his eyes as he sat down in front of his food.

“Why?”

“Because majority of the money I get from my inheritance I don’t get until I graduate from high school. And the little bit of the money I do get goes to pay my rent and other related bills. And the fact of the matter is I want more spending money. Also I can’t keep coming over here mooching off you guys,” Michael explained.

Before Isabel could respond Max walked into the kitchen talking on his cell phone, “Hey, Liz. It’s me … again. Please just call whenever you get this.”

Max hung up his phone in a frustrated sigh. It was apparent that he didn’t notice Isabel and Michael because he started rummaging through the fridge without saying anything to them. They watched him looked in the fridge for a few moments until Michael couldn’t take it anymore.

“Nothing good?”

Max closed the fridge and spun around to face his sister and best friend, “What are you guys doing here?”

“Having breakfast,” Isabel said pointing to her oatmeal.

“Oh,” was all Max could say.

No one said anything at first. Isabel and Michael had several questions running through their heads but weren’t sure how to ask. Max knew they had questions but he really wasn’t in the mood to answer them. However, with this recent develop he realized that he was going to need them more than ever. So he sighed and went to sit down next to his sister.

“Ok, go ahead. I know you guys heard me leaving Liz a message and I can see the questions running around in your heads.”

Isabel spoke first. “So you called Liz.”

“Yeah, we have established that.”

Before Isabel could respond Michael spoke up. “Well, what made you decide to finally call her? I mean you said she was avoiding you and you didn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable.”

“She stopped avoiding,” Max said dryly. “As a matter of fact, she came here last night.”

“What?!” Both Michael and Isabel bellowed.

“Yeah, she knocked on my window about midnight last night. Apparently she couldn’t sleep, so she came over to talk.” Max then told them everything that Liz told him about what Kim did.

“Oh God,” Isabel fumed. “What a backstabbing bitch.”

“Yeah, I could tell you were a little off that night man,” Michael added, “I should have been more persistent and followed you.”

Max held up his hand. “No, don’t go blaming yourself. This is not your fault. It’s no one’s fault…”

“Expect Kim,” Isabel interjected.

“Anyway there is more,” Max said causing Isabel and Michael to look at him with eyebrows raised. “Liz is pregnant.”

*******************************************

“How much longer until we get off work,” Maria whined as Liz placed some money in the cash register.

“About twenty minutes,” Liz smiled as they walked behind the counter.

“Why are you in such a good mood,” Maria accused. “All morning you have been smiling and being cheerful.”

“I dunno,” Liz said making more coffee. “I just feel like this weight has been lifted off my shoulder, you know.”

“What weight?”

“OH, I forgot to tell you,” Liz said leaning closing to Maria then whispering so only she could hear. “I told Max last night.”

“What!? When?” Maria bellowed drawing everyone’s attention in the dinner.

“Maria! Keep it down please,” Liz hissed. And when Maria calmed down she continued in a shush voice. “I couldn’t sleep last night, so I went to Max’s house and told him everything … from what Kim did to the baby.”

“Wow, so you went over to his house and told him,” Maria said in shock. “So now all you have to do is tell your parents? Aren’t you nervous about that? What if he doesn’t want anything to do with this baby?”

“Well, as for my parents I know they will support me when all is said and done. As for he as you so discreetly put it,” Liz said laughs softly and serves someone at the counter their coffee. “It’s his choice. I mean it would be nice to if he wanted to… wanted to … what is the word I am looking for … participate. Yeah, that it if he wanted to participate would be great, but I will be ok if he doesn’t. He is suppose to be calling today.”

“Has he called this morning?”

“You know … I don’t know. I haven’t checked my phone since I started work this morning.

Neither of them noticed as Max came into the diner and walked over to them. “I can’t believe you are being so calm about this,” Maria said as he came and stood directly behind them.

“Umm, hey,” Max said as he making his presence known.

“Hey,” Liz said softly when she and Maria turned around and saw him.

“Umm, yeah hey. Huh, I think I am going to give table seven their check,” Maria said rushing off.

“How are you?” Max asked without thinking.

“Fine,” Liz smiled. “Is everything alright with you?”

“Yeah, I’ve just been calling all morning. And finally I decided to come down here. Sorry, I didn’t even consider the fact that you might be working.”

“Oh, it’s ok. I’m about to get off in about ten minutes,” Liz said grabbing a plate from the pick up window.

“No, you’re off right now,” Maria said coming behind the counter and grabbing the plate from Liz. “I will cover your tables. And don’t argue. It’s just ten minutes. Now go.” She left before Liz could say anything else.

“All right then. Why don’t we go upstairs,” Liz said leading the way to the break room.

“Maria knows,” Max asked as Liz took her apron off, threw it in her locker, and took some other stuff out.

“Umm yeah. So does Alex Whitman. They were there when I took the test,” Liz said closing her locker door.

“Oh.”

“Don’t worry they won’t say anything,” Liz said leading Max upstairs.

***********************************

Max stood on Liz’s balcony looking out at Main Street while he waited for to change out of her uniform. He could a man down cleaning ice cream off his son’s face. He couldn’t stop the tightening of his heart that the screen provoked.

“So what are you looking at?” Liz asked as she made her way out onto the balcony.

Max didn’t say anything for a moment, but just continued to stare at the father and son walking down the street. It wasn’t until he felt Liz’s presence next to him that he responded. “I was just looking at that man walking with his son and couldn’t help but think about how much my life is about to change.”

“It doesn’t have to.” Liz said softly causing Max to look her for the first time since she came on to the balcony. “I mean I told you that you have a choice in whether or not you what to be in this child’s life.”

“I don’t see much of a choice. I mean I am the father.”

“True,” Liz said walking to sit in one of her lawn chairs. Max followed her lead and sat at the edge of the chair as she continued. “But these are not your usual circumstances concerning a teen pregnancy … shoot any pregnancy for that matter. I mean I know we … we,” Liz paused trying to think of the right way to phase what happened between them. “… we created this child together. But neither of us were in our right state of mind … thanks to Kim,” Liz added bitterly then shook her head before continuing. “Anyway, you also have no say in my decision to keep this baby. Therefore, I think it’s only fair that you have a choice in whether or not you want your life forever altered when this child comes in the world.”

Max just looked at Liz in awe. He didn’t know what to say. Any other girl would kill to be in her position, so that she could tie him to her life for the rest of his life. However, here sat Liz giving him a get out of jail free card, so to speak. Still not knowing the right thing to say, he was just honest with her. “I really don’t know what I want right now.”

“That’s completely understandable. I mean you just found out about this and you are still digesting everything that happened.”

All Max could do was nod his head in agreement. He couldn’t believe how understanding she was being. This was happening to both of them, yet she was treating him as if only his life was about to be completely uprooted.

“Why are you being so understanding,” He finally asked. “I mean most other girls would be using this situation to the best of their advantage.”

“Why because you are a sure thing when it comes to a high paying career in football,” Liz asked playfully.

“Yeah, that’s the rumor,” Max smiled at her playfulness.

“Well, I’m not that type of girl. I mean believe it or not, I do plan to be successful myself even though not its going to be a little harder,” Liz responded seriously. “But I really don’t need a man to pay my way … even now.”

“So what do we do now?”

Liz sighs heavily. “We tell our parents, I guess. I would like to tell mine as soon as possible. It’s up to you to tell yours. And if you don’t want to tell your parents … I won’t tell mine who the father is.”

“No, that’s ok. You can tell them. Whatever I decide I still want my parents to know. So I guess we should tell them tonight?”

“That’s fine with me but I really want to tell my parents on my own first, and I guess you can tell yours. Then we can have a big group meeting.”

“That sounds like a plan.” Both of them were silence to for a second, neither knowing what to say at this point. Finally Max stood up, “Well, I guess I should be going.” He made his way over to the ladder then stopped. “Oh by the way, I already told Michael and Isabel.”

“Well, if you trust them then that’s your prerogative. I mean I did tell Maria and Alex.”

Max smiled shaking his head. “You and this selflessness.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Nothing. Listen, I will call you later tonight. So we can discuss how things went with the parents.”

“Alright talk to you later than.”

The two of them just stared at each other for a moment before Max spoke. “Yeah later,” he finally said as he climbed over the balcony and down the ladder.

Chapter 6
By: lizzy3686

Liz sat in her room for a long time contemplating exactly what to say to her parents. She knew that in the long run, things would work out but she couldn’t stand to see the looks on their faces when she told them. Could they really be mad at her considering the circumstances?

After what felt like forever, she threw her self onto her bed. Muffling her face with her pillow, she screamed out as loud as possible. She could not believe this situation.

“You know suffocating yourself isn’t going to make this any better.” Maria said laughing.

“Oh, hey.” Liz said sitting up. “You finally off?”

“Yea, just a few minutes ago. When did Max leave?”

“Awhile ago. I am going to call him later after I talk with my parents.”

“Oh…” Maria mumbled. “You’re going to tell them tonight?”

Liz just nodded her response. She felt like crying. No matter what the situation is, telling you’re parents your pregnant at this age is never going to be an easy task.

“Chica, don’t worry. Your parents love you and they know you would never do this intentionally, and I am sure they will support you. Especially after you tell them what Kim did.”

Liz looked at Maria, then quickly looked down. “How do I tell them about that? I mean what do I say? They are going to flip when they hear what she did. I really don’t care what happens to her after all is said and done but I really don’t want deal with all of it. I would rather just put it behind me and forget that dumb skank!”

“Well for starters, you will just tell them the truth! You were not even drinking that night Liz. You were the picture perfect daughter who was having a good time and got screwed over! Your parents aren’t dumb, they will understand” Maria stood up and hugged Liz. “I hate to leave you, but I promised my Mom I’d help her with some stuff at the store. Are you feeling any better?”

Liz wiped her eyes and smiled. “Much better. Thanks Maria. You are completely right. I just have to tell them everything. I guess I should get it over with soon huh?”

“Yeah, probably.” Maria said. “Tell you what, after you talk with them and call Max, why don’t you call me and you can tell me how it all went down over some ice cream and some major chick flicks. I think Alex is due for some chick flicks too. I’ll call him and tell him he has a date with his two gorgeous girls tonight. Alright?”

“That sounds really good Maria. After tonight I will probably need to wind down. Thanks hun, I love ya and I will call you right away.”

“Ok, well I will see you later!” Maria said as she left.

Liz stood up and prepared herself for an emotional rollercoaster as she walked towards the living room to find her parents.

*********************************

~Max~

I walk into my kitchen to get a drink. I have a little while before my father gets home and I am completely terrified of what he is going to do. My mother will be less than thrilled to say the least, but she will not be nearly as horrible as my father. Why did this have to happen. I sit down at the table with a glass of juice and put my head down.

“Yo, what’s up man?” Michael walks in asking.

“Nothing much, just thinking about how screwed up my life is right now.”

“Wow, well that sucks.” Michael says sitting down next to him; then, changing the subject to get his friend’s mind off the current situation. “Are you going to watch the hockey game tonight?”

“No, I have to talk with my parents, then call Liz and then probably not too much more.” Max said sighing. “Who knows what will be happening after tonight.”

“Hey, it’s not going to be that bad. I mean how does Liz feel right now?” Michael asked.

“You know, she is being eerily calm about all this. She told me that its completely my choice whether or not I want to be apart of the baby’s life. I never expected to be offered the easy way out, but I can just waltz out like nothing ever happened if I choose to. Do you think that’s screwed up?”

“She honestly doesn’t care what you do? I don’t know, I mean Liz is a smart girl, but most women I know would never let you slide. What are you going to do?”

“I have no clue yet.” Just then the front door slams shut. “I guess that’s my dad. I might as well just go and get this all over with. The longer I postpone this the better chance I have of going insane.”

“Alright, I will be watching the game. Swing by if you want to. Later.” Michael stood up and walked out.

Max stood up and walked towards the den. He stood by the door and looked at his parents. He let out a deep breath and prepared for the worst.

**************************************

~Liz~

Oh my god… oh my god… oh my god… Why are those like the only words my brain can come up with right now. Is that what I am going to say to my parents? Ok breathe. Deep breaths in, and out. Oh my god, now I acting like I am in labor. Ok just go.

“Mom, Dad can I talk to you guys for a minute? It’s really important, and I just really need to do it now before I run out of this room hyperventilating.” I rushed out in one quick breathe.

“Sure honey. Are you alright? Are you sick or is there something wrong with school? What is it?” my mother asked me.

“Well, I really don’t know how to say all this, so I guess lets just all sit down and I will come out and say it ok?”

My dad looked at me strangely. “Ok, you can tell us anything sweetie, we love you.”

They both stared at me expectantly. They looked so scared. “Ok, I know this is going to sound so strange… but… well… you see…Ok I will just start from the beginning. I went to a party at Kim’s house about two months ago. I really didn’t even want to go but since I just broke up with Kyle, Kim really wanted to cheer me up. So I went with Maria and Alex. We got there and Kim got me and Maria some drinks. She told me that they were safe and had no alcohol in them because I did not want to drink. Well, it turns out that she spiked my drink.”

“Well that’s not your fault honey. Is that what this is about? I’ve been wondering why I haven’t seen her around. Is that why you are so upset?” my dad asked.

“No, that’s not all dad. There is so much more… She didn’t just spike my drink with alcohol, she put ecstasy in my drink.” They both gasped and I dared not look up to see their faces. “Wait, please just let me finish. I ended up feeling really sick and Kim sent me up to a room to lie down and go to sleep, but she sent someone else up there too. I woke up in the morning and I was not alone.” Tears were rolling down my cheeks by now and I was lightly sobbing. I knew my parents were waiting for me to go on so I sucked it in and went on. “I had sex for the first time with someone I barely know. I left the room and went downstairs to find Kim. She told me that she tried to set me up with Kyle so that we would have a “good” time but that someone else drank the mix instead so she just went along with it anyway. She planned it all and when I found out I told her that I did not want to speak to her again. Things were fine for awhile. I didn’t talk to her or to the guy, I just minded my own business, but a couple days ago I realized something.” I finally looked up and saw the look of realization come over my moms face. She ran over and hugged me with tears rolling down her face. I pulled back. I had to just say it. “I found out I am a little over 2 months… pregnant.” I started sobbing. “I am so.. so… sorry. I never meant for it to happen.
By now both my parents were hugging me and rubbing my back.

“Shh.. it’s ok. We know you didn’t mean for it to happen. This is not your fault.”

I looked into my dad’s eyes, “please don’t be disappointed in me. Please don’t. I am so sorry.” I latched onto his shoulders, crying with all my might. He managed to ease me back down to a sitting position on the couch. “Sweetie, I am not disappointed in you. I am disappointed with Kim. Does her father know about this? About what kind of things go on in his own home?”

I shook my head no.

My mother jumped in. “Honey, we love you so much and we will work through this. I have to ask though, who is the father? Do we know him?”

My eyes went wide and then looked down. “I am sure you do. His name is Max Evans.”

My mom looks at me in shock. “Max Evans as in football star, Max Evans. Son of Phillip and Diane Evans?”

I nod my head yes.

“Well have you told him yet? What do his parents think? I think we need to get together and all contact Kim’s parents. You have done nothing wrong and neither has he. This is a horrible situation but we will take care of it.”

“I told him I would call him after I was done telling you. I just told him last night. He is supposed to be telling his parents this evening too. We planned on having a big meeting with all of you. Just… I really don’t want to deal with Kim anymore mom. I am so done with her crap. Please, can you just leave me out of that?”

“Sure honey, you don’t have to worry. However, I will deal with it. This will not just get left alone. That girl needs to be straightened out and I would like to do it as soon as possible.”

“I know mom.”

“Honey, what do you want to do? Have you considered all your options or decided anything yet. I hate to even ask you right now, but have you considered having an abortion? You are so young and this was not planned at all. Maybe that would be for the best.” My dad says.

I look up at him. “Yes dad, I have thought it through. I cannot have an abortion. I can’t kill an innocent baby. MY baby. It may not have been my fault or anything but the baby is mine and I cannot just get rid of something that is a part of me.”

My mom starts crying again. “I understand sweetie. What about adoption? You could give the baby to a really nice family and you can even check in and make sure everything is fine. You could still do everything you planned.”

“Mom, I’m sorry but no. I cannot just give my baby…or your grandchild… up. It would haunt me forever. I would always be wondering and worrying. I couldn’t do that. This baby deserves to know the truth, not just be tossed away because I need to do things. It’s my baby and there is no way I could just hand it over to some stranger. I’m sorry. This is the only way. I have to keep it.”

My dad sighs. “I am not saying I am happy, but I support you in whatever decision you make. Just think about it all thoroughly. Ok? It’s a big decision.”

“I will Dad, but… I can’t do anything else.”

“Sweetie, why don’t you go rest for a little while. I will get you something to drink. You need to stop crying and relax for a little bit. When you feel better, call… Max… and set up the meeting. Your father and I need to talk for a little while.” She hugged me and then I went to my father and hugged him once more too.

“I love you Lizzy. Just remember that. We are here for you so do not worry. Things will work out ok? I am so sorry that this happened to you baby.” He kissed my forehead and I followed my mom into the kitchen for some water. I dragged myself to my room and plopped on the bed. One talk was exhausting. How am I supposed to get through two more? God my head is pounding. I hate crying.

******************************

~Max~

I walk into the den and my mother is sitting on the couch.

“Where’s Dad?” I ask.

“Oh, he just ran to his study to get something. Why?”

“I just want to talk to you two. It’s kind of important.” I tell her.

“Oh, ok well he will be back down in just a second. Just sit down with me and we will wait.” She smiled.

A moment later my father walk in. “Hey son. What are you up to this evening? When does summer football practice start?”

“In about two weeks, but I have something I really need to tell you guys.” I watch as he sits down and both my parents wait for me to continue.

“I was at a party about 2 months ago. The girl who was running it was trying to set up this guy, Kyle, with her friend. She wanted to them to have fun together. She spiked two drinks with ecstasy and gave it both of them. However, Kyle gave me his drink not know knowing what was in it and got himself another one. I drank it instead of him. Afterwards….”

“Wait just one second! Has anyone found out about this? Do you realize that this could ruin you? What if your coach gave you a random drug test? What would you do then? I can’t even begin to understand what you were thinking Max!” my father yelled.

My mother shot him a death glare. “Phillip! Honestly. Max are you ok? You didn’t get hurt did you?”

“No, mom. I am fine, and no dad. No one but Isabel and a few friends know about it.”

“I’m sorry, I did not mean to yell like that but you have to be careful. If that got out, colleges could decide to not give you scholarships, or not even let you attend! It doesn’t matter whose fault it was, in the end, it would be your fault!” he explained.

“I know, believe me dad, I know. However, it gets worse. Please just let me get it out. The next morning I woke up in bed with a girl, Liz Parker. Neither of us fully remembered what happened, but… Oh God… Mom… Dad, I’m so sorry. Liz is pregnant and I am the father.”

“WHAT? You got her pregnant? I cannot believe you Maxwell! Are you stupid? What are you going to do?”

I knew this was how my father would react. I knew not to hope for the best so I do not know why I am staring at him dumbfounded.

“Phillip, calm down!”

“No Diane, I will not calm down!”

“Dad, I am so sorry. I didn’t even know what I was doing. I really didn’t mean for it to happen!”

“Hold on, just stop right now!” He put his head down for just a second. Then he looked up excitedly! “Hold on, you say you don’t even remember anything happening right? How do you know this isn’t just some scheme for her? This baby might not even be yours!”

I jump up then. “No dad, Liz is the smartest person I know. She doesn’t need me like that. Besides, she lost her virginity that night.”

“Honey, how do you know that?” my mother questioned.

“You can be so naive Max. How do you know that she wasn’t just telling you that. This is a small town. People will do anything to get out of it!” he pleaded with me.

“Damnit, she’s telling the truth! Her blood was all over the sheets…Hell…all over me! Do you want me to bring you them? You can even have them DNA tested to make sure that the blood wasn’t just a fake part of her scheme!”

“Sweetie, call down. You have to understand how much of shock this is.” my mother soothed. “Have you and this girl, Liz, discussed this yet? What does she plan to do? You have to consider the options. There is always abortion or adoption.”

“Your mother is right Max. She cannot have this baby. It will not only ruin her life, but yours also!”

“Liz doesn’t believe in getting an abortion and she says she doesn’t want to give it up. She’s going to keep it.”

“No, Max.” My father stood up and started pacing. “This is unacceptable. You cannot have this baby! I will not allow it! I don’t care what she wants, she will not ruin your future. You have worked to hard!”

“Liz is not making me do anything. She told me to discuss it with two first. To weigh my options before I make a decision.”

“Well, that’s an easy decision Max. Tell her that you will not claim this child. If she wants money, fine, we will give it but you will not claim that baby!” My dad looked at me. “I have work to do. I can’t talk about this anymore. My answer is final Maxwell. You are to have nothing to do with this baby. I will handle everything! Understood?” Without waiting for an answer he stormed off to his study.

I looked up at my mother. She had tear streaks on her face. “ I am really sorry Mom. I don’t know what else to do now.”

“Sweetie, don’t worry. Things will work out. Your father will calm down and then we will figure out how we are going to handle everything.”

“Mom, do you agree with him about not claiming the baby as mine?”

“I hate to say it, but yes. You need to take care of yourself first. How can you take care of a baby Max? Your too young and you have so much ahead of you. You need to do those things first!”

“I know.” I put my head in my hands. “We have to arrange a meeting with Liz’s parents so we can discuss all the options together. This does not just involve us and I think we need to do it right away. Can you and Dad meet with them tomorrow evening?”

“Sure sweetie. Just find out a definite time and place. I will talk to your father. You better just go to sleep and stay out of his way tonight. I love you honey.”

“I love you too Mom. Thanks for not yelling and being reasonable enough to talk to me. I will tell you the plans in the morning. I walk over and give her a kiss on the cheek then head up to my room. Liz should be calling anytime soon.

*******************************

~Liz~

I slowly open my eyes. My head is still throbbing from everything that happened tonight. I should probably call Max. Shit. I jump out of bed. Its already 9:30, he is probably wondering what I am doing.

I pick up the phone and dial his home number.

“Hello?” a female voice answers.

“Hi, is Max home?” I ask. Please do not let this be his mother. Please, oh please.

“Sure. Is this Liz?” she asks.

“Yes.”

“Oh hey, this is his sister Isabel. Let me go get him for you ok.” I hear her footsteps walking and then her yell out something.

A moment later he picks up. “Liz?”

“Hey Max. How are you?” I ask tiredly.

“I am ok. You sound pretty tired.”

“Yeah, I laid down to take a quick nap and I just woke up. My head is pounding. Sorry it took so long for me to call.”

“That’s ok Liz. So…”

“How did things go with your parents?” I ask nervously.

“Well, both of them are pretty upset. Well my dad is actually quite pissed. He just keeps telling me how stupid I am and how this will ruin my entire future. You know, exactly what I expected to hear.”

“Oh Max, I’m sorry. Look I told you, I do not want this to be a big deal. If it is going to be a problem then you don’t have to do anything. I am not going to force you into something.” I say.

“I know Liz….. SHIT!… sorry. I just don’t know what to do. I have not made any official decisions yet. I want to all get together first.”

“That’s fine Max. Take your time. I understand.”

“So how did your parent‘s take it?”

“They were shocked to say the least. But after I told them what my decision was, they understood. They are actually being pretty great. At first they wanted me to have an abortion but I explained that I couldn’t do that. So they have agreed to support me in any way they can.”

“That’s good. Should I come prepared for a near death experience tomorrow? I mean, is your dad going to try to kill me?”

I laugh. “No, he was more worried about Kim than you. My mom is mad and says she’s going to call Kim’s parents. She wants your parents to be there also when she does it.”

“I don’t know. My dad is all scared that it will get out that I had ecstasy. He will freak out if there is any extra attention brought to it.”

“Well, my mom is set on doing it. They will have to discuss that. It’s out of my hands.” I stifle a yawn.

“You’re tired and you really need rest. You shouldn’t be too stressed. What do your parents think about getting together? My mom said tomorrow could work. Maybe in the evening?”

“Yeah, maybe we could meet around 6 o’clock. Maria and Alex wanted to come too. Do you think that would be a problem. They are my best friends and I really want them there.”

“Yeah, that’s fine. Maybe I should have Michael and Isabel over too. They are all going to be affected in someway by our decision. If you want we can meet over at my house then. There is plenty of room here.”

“Ok, that sounds great.

“Ok, well get to sleep Liz and take care of yourself. You really need to take it easy ok?”

I smile “Ok, Max, I will. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight” he says.

I lay back down on my bed. How sweet. He is worried about me being too stressed. I guess I should call Maria. I pick up and dial her.

After I hang up I get into my pajamas. Maria and Alex will be here soon. Maybe they can take my mind off tomorrow. I wonder what Max is going to decide.

FINALLY A NEW CHAPTER! We know that we have taken a little long to update this story, but things have been a little crazy in to both our lives. We don't know when we can promise the next chapter, but we will have it out as soon as possible. We hope you enjoy this chapter.

CHAPTER SEVEN
By: Magical and Lizzy3686

Max, Isabelle, and Michael were on their way over to Liz's place to have the big meeting; the Evans were going to meet them there.

"So why did you want us to come again Max?" Michael asked.

"I just really need your support right now. I need to feel like someone is on my side. I know damn well my parents are not going to give me too much of that."

"Max, who really cares what Mom and Dad think? I do not know why you are so worried about what they want you to do. Sure they will be mad but sooner or later they will get over it! What dad is doing is ridiculous. I mean I cannot even believe that he would say those things to you!" Isabelle huffed.

”I wish as much faith in you as you do, because I honestly don’t think Dad will ever come around,” Max said as they pulled up in front of the Crashdown. “Well, let’s go and get this over with.” He turned off the car and headed up to the Parkers apartment with his sister and best friend not far behind him.

@@@@@@@@@@

Maria, Alex, and Liz were sitting in her bedroom waiting for the Evans to arrive. Liz had her head in Maria’s lap on the bed, while Alex was sitting on the chair. Liz was really nervous, so Maria and Alex were trying to calm her nerves.

“I just really don’t want to do this. I mean, I know that Max’s parents really don’t want him to have anything to do with this baby. Do you think they are going to yell at me?” Liz asked.

“Sweetie, you don’t have to worry about them. If they feel like trying to force you into giving this baby up, then screw ‘em! You really don’t need their help. You have your parents support. I mean 100% support. What do they really matter?” Maria soothed.

Alex jumped in. “They might try and change your mind, but you don’t have to. Just explain to them your decision and hopefully they will understand it. Just tell them you are not forcing this on anybody else and that it is completely up to them. How can they yell at you for that?”

“I know that sounds logical, but I am sure logical thoughts are not going to be a big occurrence tonight. Everyone will probably be so upset, and I can just picture this huge explosion happening you know? That’s why I really need you two there for me.” Liz said sitting up. “I mean my dad agrees that it’s really Max’s choice, but what if Max chooses not to be a part of this baby’s life. I don’t know if my dad will still feel that way. I think they are being so calm about this for my sake only.”

“Well, frankly, I wouldn’t blame your father, if he did get angry with Max for not taking care of his responsibility. It’s not fair that Max just gets to skip away without a care in the world. This happened to both of you. Max is not the only victim here. If it were me, I would take all the responsibility I could.” Alex said.

“Alex, you know you are a great guy. Why can’t all guys be like you?” Maria smiled. “Anyways Liz, he’s right. This should not just be your problem. That’s not fair to you!”

Liz stood up. “Maybe if I explain you will understand better why I am giving him a choice. What if Max would have preferred I get an abortion? Or even adoption? I did not give him a choice. No matter what he says this baby is going to be born. So I keep asking myself: is it really fair to just make him take the role of dad, when I haven’t given him any others options. No! I mean I can’t force my views on him when I am not giving him any choice. It’s just not right. So now he does have a choice.” Liz looked down and wiped her tears.

“Ok sweetie. I understand. Lets just calm down and watch some TV for awhile. You don’t need to go into this meeting all worked up. It will only make things worse.” Maria said rubbing her back.

“Yeah Liz, we support your decision no matter what. You don’t need to worry. We will be here tonight and we will get though this. OK?” Alex said.

“Thank you. I don’t know what I would do without you two! I love you guys.” Liz said.

“Ahhh, we love you too sweets!” Maria laughed. They all sat down and flipped on the TV. Soon everyone would be here, and who knew what would happen.

@@@@@@@@@@

Everyone sat around in the Parker living room in complete silence. Philip and Diane were sitting next to one another in a seat to the left of the sofa. Philip was trying really hard not say anything, and Diane was just praying that Philip would kept his calm.

Nancy was sitting on an oversized chair to the left of the sofa; Jeff was sitting on the arm of the chair to the left of her; both of them were just sitting watching their daughter. They knew that this whole ordeal was starting to take its toll on her, and it was only the beginning. They just prayed that this meeting did add more stress on her than she already had.

Michael, Isabel, Alex, and Maria were sitting at dinning room table just watching everything unfold. None of them really understood what they were doing here; all they knew was that their friends wanted them here. Therefore, the only thing for any of them to do was sit there and offer silence support.

Max and Liz were sitting side by side on the sofa. Max was more worried about his parents’ behavior then anything. He knew how his parents felt, especially his father, and he didn’t want the animosity directed toward Liz. Liz was just trying to find the words to speak; she just wanted this whole meeting over with regardless of its outcome. She knew what she what she was going to do and that she had the support of parents and closest friends. Whatever is said here won’t change that.

“Well, I guess there is no way to start a conversation like this,” Nancy began, “but I guess the best place would be to tell you all that I told Kim’s parents about what happened.”

“So you are telling me that even more people know about this then those that already in this room,” Philip interjected.

“Just Kim and her parents,” Nancy explained in disbelief of Philip’s response. “I had to tell Kim’s parents everything, so that Kim could be properly punished. Her parents are sending her rehab; then, she will be going to live with her retired military grandfather on his farm in Montana. I personally wanted to call the police on her, but Liz wanted this to stay private, so after talking to her mother we thought that was the best plan.”

“Well at least Liz was sensible about that,” Philip said, “Do you know how bad this would all be if this went public?”

“What do you mean at least Liz was sensible about that?” Jeff asked.

“Max told us that she was planning on keeping that baby. My wife and I don’t think that it is wise to keep this baby. Does she not realize what this could do to her and Max’s lives?”

“Yes, she is well aware of how all this is going effect her future, but she has decided that abortion is not for her,” Nancy stated firmly.

“Is it because of money, because we will be more than willing to pay for it. Shit, we will even through in a little extra for damages,” Philip offered.

“Dad, that is enough,” Max said as he stood and began to pace. “I can’t believe you can be so heartless about this.”

“Well, I still firmly believe that this is all a set up to trap you, so I figured I would nip this situation in the butt for it gets to out of hand.”

“Trapped?” Nancy was outraged. “Umm, Liz is just as much as victim as Max. She didn’t ask for Kim to drug their drinks and stick them in a room together. How dare you insinuate that my daughter would do such a thing?”

“Well, if that is not her intent, then why does she insist on having this baby?” Philip asked curtly.

Nancy was just about to answer when Liz spoke up. “That’s enough,” she said even firm voice. “The reason for this meeting is so that we can all lay our cards on the table. So here are mine.” She turned to so that she was facing Diane and Philip. “I can understand why you think that I would want to trap your son; he has a very promising future. But guess what, so do I. I am so high at the top of my class no one is even running a close second. I am heavily involved in this community both in and out of school. There is nothing he can do for me that I cannot do for myself.”

“So I ask again, why are you so intent on having this baby, when you know full well that this baby will ruin your life,” Philip questioned.

“It’s like I told my parents. I firmly believe in a woman’s right to choose…”

“So why don’t you make the right choice?” Philip cut her off.

“I am making the right choice, for me. Now I have already told Max that I don’t need anything from you guys. My parents have already agreed to help me out as much as possible. Also I have two very dear friends that I know will make a wonderful aunt and uncle to my child. So I already have all the support I am going to need. But so you know, even if I didn’t have them, I would be ok. I may be young, but I am very resourceful. The only reason I told Max was because I thought he had a right to know that he was going to be a father.”

“Well, I have already told Max that he cannot be in this child’s life,” Philip said in an even voice.

“That’s his choice.”

“Is it really? So what are you going to tell people when they ask who the father is?”

“I will tell them that it is none of their business, which it isn’t. The only people that need to know already do. I and everyone else in this room will not say anything about the paternity of this child if Max doesn’t want it to be known.”

Philip stands up. “Well, then in that case there is nothing left to talk about,” he pulls a check out of his coat pocket, “You seem like an honest enough girl, but here is some money help you kept your mouth closed.” He tries to hand her the check but she just stands there and refuses to take it. “Fine then I will leave it here on the table. Let’s go Diane.” He walks out of the apartment without another word.

“I am really sorry that he is not budging on this; he is just really set in his ways. I hope you use the money,” Diane said as she followed her husband out the door.

“I am so sorry about what just happened,” Max said after the shock of his father’s behavior began to wear off. “I knew that he wasn’t going to take any of this well, but I had no idea that he would go that far.”

“You know what,” Liz said looking at everyone, “I don’t want to talk about this anymore tonight. I just want to go to bed.”

“Alright,” Isabel said standing up, “we will get out of your hair.” Then she walks up to Liz, and to everyone’s surprise Isabel gives her a hug and whispers so that only Liz can hear her. “And I want you to know that regardless of what ultimately happens, I will be here to help you out. That is my niece or nephew you are carrying, and I will be damned if I am not going to be in his or her life.” She then slips a piece of paper in Liz’s hand and walks to the door. “Max, Michael and I will be in the car.” She opened the door and walked out with Michael close behind her.

Liz opened the piece of paper and found seven numbers on it with the words Isabel’s cell on top of them; she couldn’t help but smile.

“What is that?” Max asked cautiously.

“Just a little more support,” Liz replied.

“Listen Liz, I don’t know…” Max started but Liz cut him off.

“It’s ok. You don’t have to decide anything today. Besides you should probably go before your sister gets upset with you for making her sit in the car extra long.”

“Alright,” Max gave her a weak smile. “I will call you tomorrow.”

Once Max was out the door, Liz looked at Alex and Maria. “Thank you guys for being here. I really appreciate it. You guys have no idea how much your support means to me.”

“Well, we are here for the long haul,” Alex said as he got up and gave her a hug.

“Yeah, chica,” Maria said joining in on the hug. “You are stuck with us.”

“Thanks,” Liz said as they pulled out of the hug

Alex began to Maria towards the door. “Let’s go Maria. Liz needs her rest; just call us if you need anything.”

“Yeah, you know that I will be here if you need anything and anytime,” Maria added.

“Bye guys and thanks again,” she smiled as she watch her friends walk out the door. When the door closed Liz let out a breath she didn’t even know she was holding and plopped down on the couch. “Well, that went well.”

Nancy and Jeff sat on both on either side of their daughter. Jeff spoke first, “Honey, we are really proud of you. You handled yourself really well just then.”

“Yeah, especially dealing with someone like Philip Evans,” Nancy added through her teeth. “I swear the nerve of that man.”

“Mom, I know that you are upset, so am I. But I really can’t deal with this right now. I really just don’t want to think about it at this moment. I know that I am going to have to eventually deal with it, but not at this second.” Liz pleaded.

Nancy looked at her daughter and noticed the bags starting to form under her eyes. “Yeah, you’re right; we can discuss this another time. Why don’t you get ready for bed and I will bring you some green tea.”

“Thanks Mom.”

@@@@@@@@@@

“What was that about,” Max asked Isabel as he pulled away from the Crashdown.

“What was what about?” Isabel asked casually as she fixed her already perfect makeup in the mirror.

“I think he is talking about the hug thing,” Michael chimed in from the back.

“Yeah, that is what I am talking about. What did you say to her?”

Isabel was silence for a minute then sighed closing her mirror. “I just told her that regardless of whatever happens I would be there to help her. She is carrying my niece or nephew and I’ll be damned if I am not going to be apart of its life.”

Michael was the first to speak after a short silence. “But what about your Dad. Won’t he be upset if he finds out that you are associating with her?”

“I am so upset with my father right now, I really don’t care what he thinks,” Isabel stated firmly. “Which kinds of helps because I am not going to tell him. I mean if he finds out then I will deal with it. But I’m not going to volunteer the information.”

Max looked at Isabel in shock. “It’s that easy for you?”

“Yeah,” Isabel said then gave him an empathic look. “But then again I am going to just be the Auntie. My life is not going to change drastically when the baby comes. If you accept this baby you are going to have a lot on your plate.”

“Yeah,” Max said more to himself than anyone else.

@@@@@@@@@@

Nancy softly knocked on Liz’s door as she opened it. Liz was in her pajamas as she pulled the sheet back on her bed. “Liz, honey, I have your te…” But she trailed off when Liz looked up at her with tears in her eyes. “Oh, baby,” she said as she sat the tea on the dresser and pulled Liz into her arms. “Sh, it’s ok sweetie; Mommy is here.” Nancy pulled Liz on the bed so that she was sitting against the headboard and Liz’s head was resting on her chest; she slowly stroked Liz’s hair.

Liz clung on to her mother. “I’m so scared Mama. Am I really doing the right thing? Can I really do this?”

“What do you feel in your heart?”

“I feel that this is my baby and that I already love it so much,” Liz cried.

Nancy smiled down at the daughter. “In that case you are doing the right thing. And things are going to get hard, but you already know that.” She kisses Liz’s head. “But I promise that your father and I will be there ever step of the way. You are not doing this alone, and between all of us things are going to turn out alright.”

“Thanks Mama,” Liz sniffled. “Can you do me a favor right now?”

“What baby?”

“Can you stay with me until I fall asleep?”

“Of course, sweetie,” Nancy smiled as a single tear rolled her cheek and she cradled her baby to sleep.

OmegaRam1: Oh, I have a co-writer. It's lizzy3686. She actually wrote or help me write the last few chapters. Also, thanks for the comments. They were real encouraging.

To all UC readers: I am so sorry there has been no update in a long while. Steph and I have both been very busy lately. But I am going to try and get with her so that we can pick this story back up. I don't want to see it die. So us give a little while longer and who knows ... you might see a new chapter in the near future.
