I laugh. "Burn snow? Wow...what a pair of rebels you two were" I say giggling.

"Nice to meet you Ms. Evans." I say as I shake her hand with a smile. I think her and Abby might have gotten along well - Serena and Abby had the same circle of friends after all.
"Well, I guess I should continue with the story then, right Serena?" I ask, glancing at Serena who doesn't look happy. Then I notice Seth and the amount of cookies he's devouring.
"Seth, don't eat all the cookies, someone else might like them too!" I tell him sternly but then have to grin when he looks apologetic - he'll have it easy with the ladies one day.
"Sorry, dad. You want some?" he asks the people around him politely and holding out some cookies with an angelic smile on his face.

Seth turns to me with a cheeky grin, very pleased with the answer he got. Sending a small smile to Isabel, I crouch down in front of my son. "Just because Ms. Evans doesn't mind that you eat all cookies, doesn't say that the other six people in here don't want to have some. Besides, you can't eat only cookies for dinner anyway."
"Daad." Seth pouts at me, holding the cookie in his right hand protectively.
"I know, I'm mean." I tell him and lift him up and carry him to a stool - far away from the cookies. "But I'm sure that your aunt would love to bake you some more cookies again, if you ask her politely."
"Oh yes, please aunt Serena, will you bake me more?" Seth asks excitedly as he turns to his aunt, bouncing slightly on the stool.

"Oh yes, please aunt Serena, will you bake me more?" Seth asks looking so adorable as he bounces excitedly on the stool.
I grin at him as I ruffle his hair affectionately, silently thankful that he has provided a distraction from Alex’s childhood memories. There are just some things that should remain between family.
“Of course I will, sweetie.” I say, “I’ll make a whole load especially for you tomorrow and bring them with me when I come to visit you at your new house.”
When I turn around, I catch Zan staring at me intently. His eyes are dark and unreadable, his arms are folded tightly across his chest. I wonder what he is thinking about. Its not often that he goes into broody mode and I can’t read him. Normally, I know Zan as well as I know myself. I know his hopes, his dreams, his fears. He is such as important part of my life.
I close the different between his and lean into his body, wrapping my arms around his waist and rest my head against his chest. There’s a moment of hesitation before he wraps his arms around me and holds me close. That moment of hesitation sends a cold chill down my spine. Sometimes, I feel like I’m losing him.
I listen to the conversations that are following around the room and try and ignore the storm that is raging in my heart. Damn it, I don’t know where this gap came from between Zan and I. And I have no idea how to fix it.
"Are you okay?" I murmur, trying not to frown.

Oops...now I feel really bad. God Im clearly not good with families any more. I bite my lip as I walk out of the kitchen and go into the living area.
I real rather stupid really. I should have stayed at work.
I shouldnt have got involved with Seth and his cookies....that was a bad move on my part. I was only trying to be friendly...maybe talk to Alex....
I sigh as I flick on the TV. Theres some soap on. No idea what...but there all happy families. I mean yeah they have there drama...but its drama that wouldnt happen.
I knew I should have stayed at work. But I can't go back now...Zan and Max would say something about it to me...

As Seth is sitting on my lap I finally notice that something is missing. "Hey, where's your watch, champ?" I whisper quietly, so I won't interrupt the the others' discussions.
"Uhm ... I don't know." he admits after a moment, looking all sad since it is his favourite watch with Nemo the fish on it.
Not wanting him to get all upset here at Serena's place, I tell him, "I think you left it in the bed when you were asleep earlier, I'll get it for you while you eat a bit more cookies."
Great, now I'm backtracking from my own words just to keep him quiet. Really really great! Looking around to ask Isabel if I could have look for the watch in her room - now that she's here, I can't just waltz in there - I realise that she is gone.
Standing up, I walk towards Serena and Zan. "Could you look after Seth for a moment? I think he forgot his watch in your roommate's room and I'm going to get it for him before he starts crying or something."

“Are you okay?” Serena asks, her head is resting against my chest.
“Fine,” I answer, brushing a stray curl behind her ear. I wish that we were alone right now. I wish that everyone would disappear for the rest of the day and allow me to spend some much needed time alone with my girlfriend. “Just tired, I guess.”
She looks up at me, concern softening her hazel eyes, “You should go back to bed.” She presses a kiss to my chin and grins, lowering her voice to a husky whisper, “Remember you promised to get me back for being a tease. I was planning on keeping you all night.”
I laugh and pull her body closer to mine as I slip my hands under her t-shirt and rest them against the warm skin of her back. I seriously wish these guys would disappear because all I want to do is maul my girlfriend in peace. Right here. Right now.

“Sure thing,” Serena says, pulling away from me and holding her arms out to Seth. She lifts him up and sits him on the counter. Her whole being focused on Seth as she listens to him talk about his watch and the cookies. Again, I feel slight jealous. Its pathetic and I want to blame it on tiredness but deep down, I can’t help but wonder if this is a sign of things to come. Will Serena go running every time Alex and Seth beckon her?
Its only a matter of time before Alex realizes that I’m not good enough for Serena, that I’m never going to be good enough for her. Its only a matter of time before he opens her eyes to the truth.
“Isn’t he the sweetest thing?” Serena says, beaming at me.
“Yeah, great.” I mutter before swallowing a mouthful of orange juice, ignoring Serena’s scowl. I turn to Max, “Hey, you fancy playing a little play station today if you’ll taking the day off?”
