A look of shock and then a slow regret makes it's way through his tense features and he quickly spit out,"Oh, no. Maria, I was joking. Sorry, it was a really stupid joke. My mouth doesn't listen to me sometimes," My face draws up trying to understand but it's his light and caring touch of my hand that helps me understand. Ah joke. Kidding. A light hearted tease. The thing normal people do. Ah. "Relax, Michael." I reply raising my eyes to meet his for the first time in it feels like ages.
"I'm sorry that I'm so defensive. It's an old habit. One I'm honestly trying to break." I flash him a warm smile before I realize what just happen. Did I just appologize? Oh my God. I'm going soft! I've never felt bad about anything I've done even if it was wrong. I guess I'm just changing. Being around people who love and care about me makes me love and care about them. Whoa, totally new concept to grasp. All right baby steps.
"It's just that I really like spending time with you, and it would bother me if you were only doing it because you felt like you owed me something. I mean you saved my life. I should be buying you waffles." I smile trying to make light of the situation.

She meets my eyes again, and I let out a sigh of relief as she says, "Relax, Michael." Oh, thank god. She had me scared for a minute there.
"I'm sorry that I'm so defensive. It's an old habit. One I'm honestly trying to break." She says, smiling, and I'm really glad for the emotion turn around. Note to self: If I'm joking in front of Maria, clarify it ahead of time.
"It's just that I really like spending time with you, and it would bother me if you were only doing it because you felt like you owed me something. I mean you saved my life. I should be buying you waffles." She jokes lightly, still smiling. I smile back, and watch as our waitress brings over our food.
"Maria, if this was a pity date I wouldn't have spent all night with you after the date ended. But if you want to pay for the waffles, go right ahead," I joke, grinning. "Actually, you can make me waffles some time if you ever feel like you owe me something."
Turning serious for a second as I take a bite of my food, I look directly at her. "I like spending time with you too."

"I would absolutely love you too..." She replies with the sweetest voice I've ever heard and then the goddess leans up to press a soft kiss on my lips and it's as if my body shuts down. Wow, she's so amazing. Trying to remain cool I focus on her perfect body as she hops out of the car. What?! I'm a guy! I can't help but stare if a pretty woman exist my car. I am however surprised when she whirls back around a pokes her head in the window in the cutest fashion.
I am so whipped it's not even funny. How is it that I've known her less than 24 hours and I can't imagine what my life was like without her."Um maybe you could come back sooner and I could make us a quick breakfast maybe..If you wanted?" She bites her bottum lip nervously and it's all I can do not to lean over and capture it with mine. "Sounds wonderful. I'll get here about 30 minutes before school starts." Like I could ever say no to that gorgeous face.
Checking my watch I realize I have just enough time to get home, do my usual 25 pushups, hop in the shower, and get dressed. I'm gonna have to hurry though. "Bye Tess." I give her a slight wave and I make sure she gets in the house safely before I pull out of the driveway like A bat out of hades.

"That's fine with me. I wonder where they are though, I mean, Michael hasn't called me or anything. And I don't see Liz either. What, did everyone decide to cut today?" Alex muses as we enter our first class for the day...groan...history,first thing in the morning.
"Beats me where they've all disappeared to but I guess we should be thanking our lucky stars...gives us a bit of a break before having to answer a volley of question from all of them."
I dump my bag next to my seat and sit down,"Hey Isabel...what's up with you and Whitman?" asks Bradley Forest,the stupid fool who thinks he's gods gift to women and as my luck would have it,sits right behind me "Rumour has it that you two have hooked up...poor little rich boy finally struck gold eh?"
Boy news travels fast!The grapevine sure knows how to do its work.
"None of your business Brad." I snap at him
"Geez...I only asked." He throws his hands up in defence "You're very cranky this morning...Whitman not pleasing you enough...already." he laughs at his own idiotic joke and I ignore him
"Asshole!" I mutter under my breath and look across at Alex who's two rows away from me and arch my eyebrows in exasperation

"Bye Tess."Kyle says with a small wave and I wave back with a small smile. I turn away and head up to the stairs that lead my apartment...Well I supose it's mine and Maria's apartment.
unlocking the door, I begin to wonder if Maria made it home last night but by looks of the place Im gonna assume not. Walking into the kitchen I do a quick inventory of the cupboards and the fridge/freezer. Um eggs, bacon and toast...simple! especially if I cheat and use my "special abilities".
I dash into my room and stare at my closet, ok! inspiriation hit me!...I take my pride in my appearence but Im not a barbie, I mean come on I'm representing a species granted no one knows this but Iam and most people think I would be 3feet tall with green skin and looking in the mirror, Im kinda short but definatly not green.
Black knee-high boots burgandy gypsy skirt and pale pink tank top. Laying them on the bed I head for the shower, which only takes me 5minutes and then Im out again. I dress and head back into the kitchen to start cooking.

As we walk into history, Isabel heads towards her seat, answering, "Beats me where they've all disappeared to but I guess we should be thanking our lucky stars...gives us a bit of a break before having to answer a volley of question from all of them."
I nod in agreement before taking my seat two rows over and getting out the homework I'm glad I got done in class. "Hey Isabel...what's up with you and Whitman? Rumour has it that you two have hooked up...poor little rich boy finally struck gold eh?" I hear from behind me, and I turn my head to see Brad bothering Isabel. Well, this should be a real interesting day. We've been here for like twenty minutes and there are already rumors. Way to go Roswell.
"None of your business Brad." She snaps back at him and I smile. One for Isabel. Tuning him out, I turn back to see what the teacher is writing on the board, but I hear him continuing so I look back. Isabel throws me a look of total and complete exasperation, and I return her a look of sympathy, which takes just long enough for Brad to grin at me and give me a thumbs up. Asshole. Isabel looks positively annoyed, bordering on angry, and I pray that the rest of the day won't be like this. Pulling out my phone, I text her.
'This is going to be a sucky day. You wanna think like all our friends and get out of here?"

"That's just what I need.As soon as this period is over let's go someplace nice and quiet."
Smiling ahead, I text Isabel back. 'Great idea - meet me in the parking lot, we shouldn't leave together.'
God, if her mom finds out, she's going to hate me even more, but I really don't want to deal with school right now, along with this lack of sleep. I just might kill someone like Brad if we stay.
