Part 11

Post by sydniepaige »

Love and thanks to PMP, Jason's Lover, Zanity, candycane14, roswell3053, Emz80m, Sophia, Sternbetrachter, BehrObsession, L-J-L 76, Michelle in Yonkers, confusedfool, clueless and nibbles2.

The song in this part was written by Stevie Blaze & Ron Taylor of Lillian Axe ( my all time favorite band, well, the original Lillian Axe anyway.) In fact all of Max's songs will belong to Lillian Axe. I'm borrowing their wonderful, inspiring music because it's the music that has been playing in my head from the moment I began writing this. No infringement is meant by using their songs. Just complete love and adoration. (Ron Taylor's voice still evokes chills all over my body.)

This part is slightly ADULT. (In other words, I was just too lazy to write a complete sex scene.)

Part 11

Liz walked into her office a little after ten the next morning. David followed her in and began to go over her revised schedule for the day.

“Your 8:30 meeting has been rescheduled for one, Mr. Langley will be here at three, and Mr. Guerin called to say that the Danya situation is under control.”

“Good.” She nodded as she opened the file on her desk. She glanced over it and then signed the contents. “Call down to the studio. Find out how the vocal recordings are going. Then have Max, Maria and Alex up here for the Langley meeting.”

“Yes, Miss Parker.” David headed for the door, but stopped. “Excuse me for overstepping my bounds by saying this, but you look fabulous today.”

Liz grinned. “Thanks, David.” She’d worn a pair of faded, ripped, low rise jeans and an old Lillian Axe concert tank.

“Okay Max.” The producer said over the intercom. “Let’s do this one all the way through.”

Max nodded and placed the headset to his right ear. The sound of Alex’s bass filled his ear. He closed his eyes, waited for his cue, and began to sing:

I’m not the kind of man
Who lets a woman tell me
Just what I can and cannot do.

She came prepared for battle
And all I had to say was
“I’d like to spend some time with you.”

Comin’ on shy but I don’t know why
Sure knows what to do
Bitch gonna stab you in the back
While she makes love to you.

All’s fair in love and war.
So what are we fighting for?
All’s fair in love and war.

No one to blame but yourself
There’s no more lies left to tell
You know I’ve heard that song before.

Now you’re too scared to face me
Afraid of what you may see
How all is fair in love and war.

Comin’ on shy but I don’t know why
Sure knows what to d
Bitch gonna stab you in the back
While she makes love to you.

All’s fair in love and war.
So what are we fighting for?
All’s fair in love and war.

Max’s guitar solo played through the headset. He’d been playing for ten years and this was the first time he’d ever heard himself recorded. ‘Damn, I’m good.’ He grinned.

And when the battle’s over
You’ll find another lover
I’ll be another casualty.

Comin’ on shy but I don’t know why
Sure knows what to do
Bitch gonna stab you in the back
While she makes love to you.

All’s fair in love and war.
So what are we fighting for?
All’s fair in love and war.

All’s fair in love and war.
So what are we fighting for?
All’s fair in love and war.

The music ended.

“Wow.” The producer sat back in his chair and the engineer nodded in agreement. “Okay, you’re done for the day. David called down and said for you to meet Liz, Alex and Maria in her office.”

“Thanks man.” Max put the headset down and headed for the elevator.

“Man, Lizzie. This has been a crazy day. They’d bring in Max’s track and then I’d lay down my vocals like a zillion times. I need a massage. I’m wiped.”

Liz smiled at her best friend. “I’ll see if Michael’s available.”

“No, I mean I need an actual massage; shoulders, back, arms, legs. If I let Michael do it…” She grinned. “Let’s just say I need an external massage.”

“I see the Tomb had its desired effect.”

“All I can say is that I become rich and famous, I’m getting one of those glass room cage thingies for my bedroom.”

Liz busted out laughing.

Her office door opened and David showed Max and Alex in.

“Thank you David. As soon as Cal gets here show him in immediately.”

“Yes Miss Parker.”

Max walked over to Liz and kissed her. “I missed you.”

Liz wrapped her arms around his neck. “I was very lonely when I woke up in that big ol’ bed this morning. You could have gotten me up.”

The sexy grin on his face was hot enough to melt butter. “You were kinda wiped. Too much physical exertion.” He wiggled his eyebrows. “Besides, I had to be in the studio early. Wouldn’t wanna piss off the boss.”

“I’m pretty sure the boss woulda got you off … I mean let you off.”

“I heard that.” Maria giggled from the couch. She glanced over to Alex who was wearing a goofy look. “If I’m not mistaken, I believe that all three members of the Roswell group got off last night.”

Alex blushed.

“Give it up Alex.” She said in a sing song voice. “Who’d you go out with last night?”

His voice was barely audible.

“What was that?” Maria asked.

“Felicia Dempsey.”

Liz’s jaw dropped. “Seriously?”

“Yeah, why?”

“Alex, Felicia doesn’t date anyone. She is so completely focused on her career that she’s turned down the likes of major Hollywood A-listers. I’m quite impressed.”

“Thanks.” He sheepishly glanced at Max.

“Don’t worry about it, man. Isabel’s whoring around with that lawyer from Dad’s office. Go sow your oats. Iz’ll be callin’ the first time she sees you in tabloids.”

Alex’s cell phone began to play Isabel’s ring.

“Told ya.”

Alex let the call go to voice mail and then turned the ringer off. “Don’t want to interrupt the meeting when Mr. Langley gets here.”

Maria grabbed his cheeks in one hand. “My baby boy’s become a man. I am so proud of you.”

Alex laughed as he pushed her hand away. “Fuck off, Maria.”

Isabel’s humph was high pitched and loud as she threw her Razor phone on the couch of her father’s office. He was in court and knew that she wouldn’t be disturbed there.

Taking a deep breath, she picked up her phone and dialed Maria.

Maria’s phone started ringing. She looked at her caller ID. “Oh, you are not going to believe this.” She put her to her lips to hush everyone as she answered on speaker. “Hey, Isabel. What’s up?”

“Cut the crap, Maria. Would you mind telling me what my boyfriend was doing in that restaurant, kissing that whore?”

“You and Jesse were in a restaurant?”

Max had to cover Liz’s mouth to keep her laughter under control.

“Alex, you bitch!” Isabel yelled.

“Who are you calling a bitch? As I recall, you gave Alex an ultimatum, he chose music over you and you got all pissy. You moved on with Jesse Ramirez and from what I heard, fucked him on the first date.”

“I did not!”

“Look, you moved on and now, so has he. Felicia makes him happy. Let Alex be happy.”

There was silence on the phone.

“Isabel?”

“Just … tell Alex I said …Never mind.”

The call ended.

Maria, Liz and Max began talking amongst themselves as Alex sat quietly on the couch.

The meeting with Cal Langley went better than expected. By the end of it, he had them book in several hotspots around L.A. and billed simply as Roswell. He explained to them that it was a working name. They would have to decide on a permanent name soon, because if they were as good as their demo, they’d have a huge following.

Now, Max and Liz were skinny dipping in her rented houses huge swimming pool.

He swam up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. “How long have you lived here?” He kissed her neck.

“About … um … uh, four months.” She turned to face him. “It’s only temporary until I can find a house that I like.” Her hands pushed his wet hair away from his face and she bit her bottom lip. “I was impressed with your tracks today. James said that he’s never had an artist nail on the first go.” Her arms went around his neck. “You’re gonna pay for my new house, you know that?”

“As long as I get to live there with you, I’m good with that.” His mouth devoured hers. “Just as long as you’re in one of the rooms naked.”

Liz wrapped her legs around his waist. “Our house can become a clothing free zone for all I care.”

Max move to one of the bar stools that was around the sunken bar. He lifted her slightly and plunged her down on his engorged cock.

“Oh fuck, Max.” She hissed.

Their love making was slow and erotic. No words were spoken between the two. Something as simple as talking about living together in a round about way seemed to cement their relationship.

After they’d both reached their desired destinations, Liz lay on her back and let her body float. Max’s fingers gently moved over her still sensitive body. “Um…”

“So what did you really think of my songs?”

She put her feet on the bottom of the pool and stood up. “Is Love and War about Tess?”

He grabbed a cigarette off the bar, lit it and took a deep drag. He spoke as he blew it out. “She inspired a lot of my angrier work.”

“You can tell that your lyrics and emotions are closely tied together. Did you. … I mean after we …”

He stood and looked down into her big brown eyes. “The song I wrote after that wasn’t angry.”

Her tears misted with tears. “Will you sing it for me?”

“Someday.” He kissed her sweetly. Picking her up, he climbed the pool stairs and carried her into the house.

Thanks to Zanity, roswell3053, sylvia37, Sternbetracher, Stargazer's Delight, Michelle in Yonkers, frenchkiss70, Emz80m, clueless, BehrObsession, nibbles2, candycane14 and anonymousarefan. Your feed back rocks!

Sorry for such a late update. Real life is kicking my ass and coming back for seconds.

Once again, the song Innocence belongs to Lillian Axe. Stevie Blaze wrote the music and Stevie, Ron Taylor and Jon Ster wrote the words. Axe to the Max!

Part 12

When Max woke the next morning, he found Liz standing in front of her bedroom’s full length mirror wearing a black business suit. Her hair was pulled back into a tight bun. He’d never seen her dressed like this. It was kind of sexy.

“Going to a funeral?” He cleared his morning, gruff sounding throat.

“You could say that.” Liz smiled as she saw his naked body in the crumpled sheets of her king-sized bed. “I have a Board of Director’s meeting this morning. Just one of the sucky things about corporate America.” She put her one caret diamond earrings on without aid of a mirror. “I hate to turn into the bossy boss lady after an amazing night of fantastic carnal pleasure, but make sure you’re in studio by nine.”

Max sat up and saluted. “Ma’am, yes ma’am.”

“Ooh, I kinda like that.” She walked over to the bed and kissed him. “Meet me in my office at one. We’ll have lunch.” She kissed him again, hard. “And dessert.” With another quick kiss, she was gone.

Max growled. Then sighing with frustration, he got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to relieve the havoc Liz caused to his nether region.

Cool, cool, Innocence
Like an angel blowing kisses from the sky
Cool, cool, Innocence
In a way that takes my breath away, no lie
Pure and white as the driven snow
It’s a sin, I know

Cool, cool, Innocence
Like an answered prayer, put my thoughts to shame
Cool, cool, Innocence
Virgin, untouched animal you can never tame
Can’t believe my lyin’ eyes
No matter how I try

Beauty, surround me, release me, astound me
Innocence, Decadence, Innocence
Breaks me down

Cool, cool, innocence
I can taste the sweet surrender on her lips
Cold, hard, Decadence
She’s a lonely face that launched a thousand ships

Pure and white as the driven snow
Well, she don’t know

The wicked ways of the world have not found her
Young, restless heart, blind to darkness
Around her

Cool, cool, Innocence.
Cool, cool, Innocence,
Cool, cool, Innocence.

OW!

Max air picked his invisible guitar as the song ended.

Maria looked at Michael. “That was orgasmic.”

He couldn’t help the grin that was growing on his face. “Maria, to you everything is orgasmic.”

“Bonus for you.” She wiggled her eyebrows.

His cheeks tinged pink. “Just get your cute ass in there and do backgrounds.”

As Maria walked in and Max walked out, they highfived.

“That was lame.” Max laughed.

“Hey, are we meeting at lunch?” She asked him.

“Nope.” He answered with a goofy grin and headed for the elevator.

“Make sure you lock the door. David’s been checking out your ass pretty hard and I wouldn’t put it past him to walk in just to check it out.”

As the elevator doors closed, Max flipped her off.

“I don’t give a flying fuck, Danya! Explain to your boy’s manager that he is now in breach of his contract with Destiny.”

“He was in studio all day yesterday. He laid down five tracks.” The girl’s voice was shaky.

“All of which are crap. Have you even listened to them?”

“N-no ma’am.”

Liz cued up the first track. The voice that came from the stereo was flat, then sharp, the completely off key.

Danya was near tears.

Liz pressed the off button and pressed David’s call button.

“Yes, Miss Parker?”

“I want Michael Guerin in my office now!”

“Yes, Miss Parker.”

“Have a seat, Danya.” Liz told the woman who was at least three years older than she was.

It was five minutes later when Michael arrived.

“Your boy’s sitting nervously near your secretary’s desk.” He said with a smile on his face until he saw Danya sitting on the leather couch. “What happened?”

“That’s what I’m trying to figure out.” Liz let out a deep breath as she grabbed her remote and cued up the second track which was even worse than the first.”

Michael put his hands over his ears. “What the fuck is that?”

“I want Jordan Smith in my office today! I want whoever is representing him in my office today! Michael, it is now your responsibility to get this done.” Liz looked at Danya who was now sobbing. “I don’t know what has happened to you in the last few months, Danya. Maybe you should take some time off and really think about if this is what you want to do with your life.” She got up and handed her a tissue.

“I know how badly I fucked this up.” Danya glanced at Michael.

Taking the hint, Michael pointed to the door. “I’ll just go to my office and make those phone calls. Oh, and I’ll alert Joel that he’ll need to be here.”

”Thank you, Michael. Oh and can you tell Max that we’ll have … lunch as soon as I can arrange something.”

Michael tried to hide his grin. “I’ll try and entertain him in my office for a while. David’s flirting pretty hard.”

Keeping her composure, she nodded. “Thank you, Michael.”

When the door closed, Liz sat next to Danya. “Talk to me. What the hell happened?” Her voice softened.

Danya swallowed and shook her head. “It doesn’t really matter. Everything with Jordan Smith is my fault.”

Liz was getting an uneasy vibe. “Something happened between you and Jordan?”

She nodded. “About four months ago. His reps weren’t getting back to me so I decided to go to him directly. It was the night of his last show. I cornered him in his dressing room. I told him that now that his tour was over, it was time to get back in the studio and work on his next CD. He wanted to discuss it over drinks. I’ve done that before so I didn’t think much of it. But one thing led to another and…”

“You slept with him.” Liz nodded thinking, “Been there, done that, got the t-shirt and burned it.”

“I have never slept with a client, but he kept saying things. I guess I foolishly thought that he meant them.” Danya wiped fresh tears that filled her eyes. “I’m pregnant, Liz. I’m pregnant and Jordan Smith is fucking that hotel heiress. He won’t return my calls. The only reason he was even here yesterday was because Michael was able to get him here.”

“Does Jordan know you’re pregnant?”

Danya shook her head. “Hard to tell him when he’s deliberately avoiding me. I tried to talk to him yesterday but every time I would get near him, he’d go the opposite direction.”

“He’ll have no choice today.”

“I’m really sorry. This is what I want to do. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do. I’ll understand if you fire me though. I crossed the line of professionalism and…”

“Hey, I’m not tossing any stones here. Hell, everyone knows about my Marco debacle.” Liz placed her hand on top of Danya’s. “Promise me that you’ll give me a hundred percent from here on out.”

Danya nodded. “I will. I promise.”

“Good. Now go back to your office. I want you on your game when Smith struts in here like he owns the place. That boy’s in for a rude awakening.”

Max took a bite of his ice cream sundae. “You know, when you mentioned dessert, I was thinking it would be more of a carnal thing, not an ice cream thing.”

Liz leaned on his shoulder. “I know and I’m sorry. I have a huge meeting in about an hour and I don’t need to smell like sex going into it.”

”The Jordan Smith thing?”

She looked questioningly at him.

“I was in Michael’s office avoiding your secretary when I overheard him setting up the meeting. It sounded pretty serious.”

Liz nodded. “I’m dropping him. He thinks he’s above fulfilling his contract with my label. He’s also been avoiding my representative. Major no-no.”

Max grinned. “Wish I could see you in action.”

“Maybe you should.” The wheels in her mind were turning.

“What are you thinking?”

Liz grabbed the phone by the couch and buzzed David.

“Yes, Miss Parker?”

“Please have Michael, Guerin, Maria DeLuca and Alex Whitman come to my office.”

“Yes, Miss Parker.”

Max smiled at her. “What are you up to?”

Taking a huge bite of her ice cream, Liz smiled.

Liz sat at the head of the table in her large leather chair in the conference room. Assembled were Liz, Michael, Joel and Danya from Destiny and Jordan, his manager, his agent and his attorney. Max, Maria and Alex sat on the couches over on the side. After David brought in coffee for everyone, Liz began the meeting.

“I appreciate you coming here on such short notice, but I’m having a bit of a problem.”

“Who the fuck are they?” Jordan pointed at the Roswell trio.

“Excuse my manners. This is a new group that Destiny is developing. I asked them to join us to see the inner workings of this business. Or better yet, how not to fuck up a promising career.” Liz stood and began to walk the room.

She addressed the manager, agent and lawyer. “As of this moment, your client is no longer ours. Our representative, Danya Phillips, continually attempted to contact Mr. Smith and you,” she pointed to the manager, “and her calls went ignored. It wasn’t until Mr. Guerin called that Mr. Smith even bothered to show up in the studio where he recorded five of the most ear bleeding so called songs I’ve ever heard.” Liz hit the play button on her remote.

“This is bullshit!” Jordan stood up and got in Liz’s face. “I know what this is really about. It’s because I fucked your little girl here and didn’t call her back.”

“Joel?” Liz looked at her attorney.

“The client, Jordan Smith, agrees to begin recording his sophomore album within two months following the end of his final tour date.”

Liz looked at Danya. “That was … four months ago was it not Miss Phillips?”

“According to my OB, that would be correct, Miss Parker.”

Jordan’s eyes went wide. “Oh, so now I see what this is all about. The bitch is knocked up and claiming it’s mine. This is some kind of extortion.”

“Mr. Smith, I suggest you sit down and shut up. Have you even noticed that your reps haven’t said a single, solitary word? And why is that? Because they know you don’t have a leg to stand on. When we signed you to Destiny, we told you that we would put you on top … and we did. But it was your responsibility to stay there. All you had to do was find fifteen songs, make them your own and record them. You came into my studio yesterday with five pieces of shit. My label is finished with you.”

Jordan looked at his manager. “Would you get off of your ass and say something?”

“What do you want me to say Jordan? I told you over and over to get off of your ass and get to work. You’re the one who said to ignore Miss Phillips phone calls before and after your tour. I stupidly listened. You not only fucked yourself, you you’ve fucked over everyone in this room.” He looked over to Max, Alex and Maria. “I really hope you understand what you’re getting yourself into.”

“You’re fired!” Jordan yelled at the older man.

“Too late. I quit.” He stood and grabbed his briefcase. “Miss Parker, it was an honor to meet you. I hope in the future we’ll have the pleasure again under different circumstances.” He walked out of the room.

Liz focused once again on Jordan. “Our business is done, Mr. Smith. Good bye.”

Max looked at Liz with complete and total respect. He was also majorly turned on.

I know I promised this to you weeks ago, but my niece had her baby on the 16th (making my oldest sister a 40 old grandmother, ) and I haven't been able to pull myself away from her. This is really short, but I wanted to give you something.

Part 13

Liz sat at her desk reading over the exit paperwork fro the dimwit she’d fired. It was so much easier to sign a new artist than to release one from his contract. The press release already hit the AP and was all over the net.

She looked at her watch. “Two hours, not bad.” Her phone buzzed. “Yes, David?”

“Max Evans is here to see you.”

A smile played on her lips. “Send him in.”

“Yes, Miss Parker.”

As was becoming his custom, David showed Max into the office, giving him an obvious once over.

“That will be all, David.”

“Yes, Miss Parker.”

Max walked over to Liz’s huge desk and sat on the corner. “You’re kind of a ball buster, aren’t cha?” His expression was pure sex.

“When I have to be.” She laid her pen on top of the file folder. “I don’t like it. I don’t like having to end someone’s career. But this is business.”

“And business takes preferential treatment over personal feelings. I took that class too.”

She bit her bottom lip. “So you’ll understand that if you fuck up, I’ll have to go uberbitch on you.”

Max nodded. “Liz, this is something I’ve wanted for ten years. I’m not gonna fuck this up.”

She laughed and shook her head. “You have no idea how many times I’ve heard that. But I have faith in you.” She buzzed David.

“Yes, Miss Parker?”

“Hold my calls.”

“I’m jealous. … Yes, Miss Parker.”

Liz looked sternly at Max. “Have a seat, Mr. Evans.” She pointed at her couch.

He did as he was told.
She shook her head. “I really want you to be comfortable at Destiny and with me. You just don’t look comfortable. Perhaps you should take off your jacket.”

Max took off his denim jacket off, leaving him in a tight, black t-shirt and faded, well worn, ripped jeans.

Once again, she shook her head. “That shirt’s awfully tight. How can you possibly be comfortable in a shirt that tight? I must insist you take that off as well.”

As Max took off his shirt, Liz walked over to her office door and locked it. She glided back to her desk and sat in her leather chair. “My …” she fanned herself, “it is definitely stuffy in here.” She unbuttoned her silk blouse, revealing her white lace bra.

Max began to squirm as his jeans tightened.

“Oh, no, it appears that you are still not as comfortable as you should be. As President and CEO, I want all of my artists as comfortable as possible.” She bit her bottom lip and looked as if she was thinking. Liz hit the top of her head. “Why didn’t I think about this sooner? Maybe if you unfastened your pants… Here, let me.” She unbuttoned Max’s fly, releasing his cock. “Tsk, tsk, tsk. Now that really looks uncomfortable. As your boss, I’m going to have to take things into my own hands.”

Max hissed when Liz’s cold hand touched his overheated manhood.

She grinned. Normally, as the Queen Bitch around here, I don’t interact with the talent too much. But with you, I’ll definitely be hands on.” Her hand squeezed and pumped him.

He groaned.

“But let me be perfectly clear.” She released her grasp. “When we are in this building, in this office, I’m the boss and you do what I tell you. Do you understand me?” She lifted her skirt and straddled him.

“Y-yes ma'am.”

Liz leaned close to his ear and licked it. “Fuck me, Max.” She whispered.

Max grabbed his dick and guided her moist heat onto it. Noticing how uncomfortable she looked, he scooted forward, which in itself made Liz buck wildly, and wrapped her legs around him then pulled her flat against his chest.

It was the most intimate position two people could possibly be in, joined together and face to face.

Max’s lips molded to her neck. The taste of her skin was addictive.

Liz closed her eyes and allowed her body to react to his.

Their bodies were barely moving. Liz’s tight walls were instinctively sucking him in deeper, pulling him in and making him involuntarily grind against her pelvis.

Sensations took over as her head began to spin, her breathing became shallow and her toes began to tingle. She tightened her legs around Max and leaned back as her orgasm took over.

Quite awkwardly, Max moved them to the floor and pounded into Liz. His world was on fire and he needed release.

Their roles were suddenly reversed. As much as Liz’s power turned him on, he wanted control. And like any good boss would do, she allowed him to push his boundaries.

Part 14

Max leaned back on the couch in the studio and listened to Maria record her vocals. He loved to watch her. She put so much of herself into every word she sang.

Michael too was impressed. He sat next to the engineer and gazed intently at the woman he was quickly falling in love with.

Maria hit her last note and was quite pleased with herself. “You write a hell of a song, Max.”

Max grinned. “You expect any less from me?”

“You’re done.” The engineer told her.

“Great! I’m starved. Which one of you studs wants to take me out for a very un-LA-type of meal?” She closed the door to the sound booth and entered the room with the guys.

Michael got up from his chair. “Why don’t you get Alex, and I’ll see if Liz is free and we can all go.”

“I’ll go get Liz.” Max said as he got up off of the couch.

Maria pushed him back down. “I’ll go get Lizzie and you go find Alex. If you go, we’ll never eat.” She grinned. “Well, you’ll eat, but…”

Max threw a throw pillow at her.

Maria stood on her tiptoes and kissed Michael. “Call a limo. I wanna feel like a star.”

Michael watched her walk out of the room. “You are baby. You already are.”

A limo pulling up to a burger joint was nothing new in LA. However, when the Roswell crew exited with the President and CEO of Destiny Music and the hottest young female singer of the moment, paparazzi came out of hiding in droves. All three couples were accosted. Questions were flying at them from all directions.

Michael was the consummate professional. “Just pose, smile and enter the restaurant.” He whipped out his cell phone and called security to their location so they could have a somewhat normal lunch.

“Your single’s release is in two weeks.” Liz took a sip of her soda. “Exposure, as long as it’s positive is good.” She nodded toward the photographers still outside. “Us eating here today is good for you, Felicia and Destiny.”

Felicia sighed. “I need all the good press I can get. Alex’s old girlfriend has started a campaign against me.”

“What?” Max looked to Alex and he shook his head in ignorance.

The young rock star sighed. “She told a local paper that I manipulated my way into Alex’s life and broke up the happy couple that had been together for over eight years. It got picked up by the AP and…”

“Why is this the first I’m hearing of this?” Liz said angrily to Michael.

Michael was already on the phone. “I’m on it.”

“So am I.” Alex too had his phone out.

Max shut Alex’s phone. “I’ll handle this one.” Max pressed the speed dial on his phone and his sister answered on the third ring.

“Oh my God, Max. I haven’t heard from you since you left. How are you?”

“What the fuck is your problem Isabel? You fucked up your relationship with Alex and you can’t stand the fact that he’s moved on. Felicia’s a nice girl and now you’re fucking with her career.”

“Some brother you are. How dare you take her side over mine!”

“There are no sides to take, Iz. Alex didn’t meet Felicia until we came to LA. He had already broken up with you. You had a good thing with Alex and you blew it.” Max glanced at Alex who seemed to look torn. “Get over it and grow up.”

Isabel was quiet for a few moments. “I still love him, Max. I know I screwed up. I’m trying to move on, but it is so hard when he’s everywhere with her.”

It was Max’s turn to be silent. He’d never heard his sister so sad. He scratched behind his ear. “I, uh, I don’t know what to say to that. Just lay off, okay?”

“I will.”

The line went silent and Max closed his phone. “She won’t bother you anymore.”

“Why would she listen to you?” Felicia asked.

Alex faced her. “Isabel is Max’s sister.”

“This is awkward.” She nervously laughed.

Max placed his phone on the table. “Don’t worry about it. My sister’s a spoiled brat. If she can’t have what she wants, she thinks that no one else should have it either.”

“She’s not always like that.” Alex defended to everyone’s surprise. “She can actually be very giving. She’s…” He saw sadness in Felicia’s eyes.

“We’d better get out of here.” Liz interjected. “Some of us have to actually work for a living.”

There was a nervous laugh around the table, but everyone got up and headed to the limo.

“You’re still in love with her.”

Alex tried to shake his head in opposition to her statement, but he nodded instead.

“Figures.” Felicia bit her bottom lip. “I think you should give her another chance.”

“No. It’s ov…”

“It’s far from over, Alex. I saw the look in your eyes when you were defending her. She still loves you too. By attacking me, she was defending her territory. You.”

Alex took Felicia’s hand and kissed it. “I like what we’ve got here. I admit that I still love Isabel, I probably always will in one way or another, but you’re the one I choose to be with.”

She kissed him sweetly. “I’m a rock star. I’m selfish. If I can’t have you all to myself, then I can’t be with you at all.”

Alex hugged her. “You are the most unselfish rock star I’ve ever known.”

“Not really. Deep down I desperately want you to fall out of love with her and be all mine.” She stood up.

“I don’t wanna lose you as a friend, Felicia.”

“You won’t.” He stood and she hugged him tightly. “You’re a wonderful man, Alex Whitman.”

Isabel sat on her bed crying. She’d really fucked up this time. Why did she have to be such a bitch all of the time? At least she’d done one thing right. She broke up with Jesse. He was gorgeous and sexy and stable, everything she should want in a man, but he just wasn’t Alex.

Her cell phone began to vibrate. She wiped her eyes, picked it up and looked at her caller ID. “I’m really sorry. I’ll back off, I promise.”

“We need to talk Isabel. Do you think you could fly out here?”

Isabel took a deep breath. “I don’t think that’s such a good idea, Alex. I’ve messed up your life enough.”

“You haven’t. Just come out here. Please.”

“Okay. I’ll call you when I make my arrangements.”

“They’re already made. Get in the limo that’s parked outside your apartment. It’ll take you to a private airfield and the Destiny jet will fly you here. Pack light. You can shop when you get here.”

The line went dead.

Part 15

David met Isabel as she got off the Destiny jet. Alex and the rest of the band were meeting with a group of stylists and photographers so the marketing department could begin their jobs.

“Good looks must run in your family. You’re as scrumptious as your brother.”

Had Isabel not been so nervous about seeing Alex, she would have laughed. “Where are you taking me?” She inquired.

“Well, doll, Option A is I take you to the hotel and let you freshen up. Option B is that I take your luscious bod to Destiny, give you a little tour and then meet the Roswell group.”

“The Roswell group?” Isabel questioned.

“It’s the in between name. They still haven’t decided on one.”

“Oh.” She bit her bottom lip.

“So, A or B?”

When David walked Isabel in to the photo studio, Isabel’s jaw dropped. Her brother, Maria and Alex were sitting on a bunch of ratty couches talking and laughing as the photographer was snapping away. They looked good. They looked hot. They looked like rock stars.

“So what do you think about my little operation here?” Liz asked as she walked up to stand beside the tall blond.

“It’s impressive.” Isabel looked back at the band. “They look great.” She gazed towards Alex. “He looks different.”

Liz nodded in agreement. “He’s grown in a lot of ways.” Liz took a deep breath. “Look, Isabel, I don’t know what’s going to happen between you and Alex. But he, your brother and Maria are on the verge of something big.”

“They’re really that good?”

“They’re playing at Kennedy’s tonight. See for yourself.”

Alex spotted her just as the photographer finished. “Hey.”

Isabel’s heart began to pound. “Hey.”

He grinned. “Let me go wash this makeup off and we’ll get out of here.”

She laughed. “I never thought I’d ever hear those words come out of your mouth.” She glanced at her brother. “Or see my brother wearing more eyeliner me.”

Max walked over to Isabel and gave her a big lipsticked kiss on her cheek.

She wiped her cheek. “Not my shade brother dear.”

Max grabbed Liz’s hand. “We’re out of here. Call me later if you get a chance and we’ll catch up.

Isabel nodded. “Okay.”

Liz’s office door was locked and David had strict orders not to disturb her unless the building was on fire. Seeing Max at the photo shoot made her extremely horny. He stepped into her office and the door was locked and his pants were off.

Her breathing was coming in harsh breaths as she straddled him. Their naked bodies were covered in a thin sheen of sweat as they moved against each other, grinding into each other. He filled her so completely, touched her in places no one else ever had.

His mouth covered her rose colored nipple as he sucked and nipped at the hard little pebble as his nimble fingers worked their magic on her clit.

“Oh God, Max. You feel so fucking good inside of me!” Her body moved faster.

“Aw fuck, baby. I’m gonna cum.” Max leaned back against the couch and placed his hands on her hips increasing her speed even faster. “Fuck … Fuck … Fuck!!!”

As David sat at his desk, he could hear the muted sounds of Max and Liz’s sexcapades. He really needed to get laid, and soon.

Alex took Isabel back to his hotel suite. With Max busy with Liz and Marie being entertained by Michael, he knew that they would be able to hash everything out.

Isabel looked around the suite. “This is a far cry from The Tumbleweed.” She put her purse down on the table and turned to face Alex. “I have been a complete and total bitch. What I said and did after we broke up was childish and selfish. All I can say is that I am sorry. I know that’s not enough, but…”

“I know.” He interrupted. “But here’s the thing. Our entire relationship was me allowing you to treat me like your slave, not your boyfriend or your lover. We did what you wanted to do, when you wanted to do it. Not anymore. If we do this again, Isabel, it’s on my terms. If what Liz is saying is true, Max, Maria and I are on the verge of something huge. I need the woman I’m with to be supportive and understanding. There cannot be any distrust or jealousy. I love you, Isabel. I don’t remember not being in love with you. But if you can’t accept who I am, then maybe we’re not meant to be together.”

She nodded her head and looked down. She took a deep breath, swallowed and looked back at Alex with tears in her eyes. “Yes.”

“Yes?”

“Yes, I accept who you are. I will be supportive and understanding. I will trust you and I will try my best not to be jealous, but that one might be a little hard. I will even move out here if that’s what you want to do. I don’t ever want to lose you again Alex. I love you so much.”

Alex held his arms opened to her and Isabel launched herself to him. Their kiss expressed every emotion that they held for each other. It was interrupted however when Alex’s stomach betrayed him and growled making them laugh.

The lights in the club went down. Liz, Isabel, and Michael sat in the VIP section waiting for Max, Maria and Alex to hit the stage.

“I can’t believe how nervous I am.” Isabel said, holding her stomach. “I’ve seen them play hundreds of times.”

“You have a vested interest now. You love Alex and want him to succeed.” Liz took a sip of her drink. “Watch how the audience reacts.”

The spotlight beamed down on Maria as she began the rhythm of their first song. Alex complimented Maria by adding the bass line. Then Max came in with his guitar. “Misery Loves Company” rocked through the club. The crowd was going wild.

Women were entranced by Max. He oozed sexiness. He had a way of making each and every woman in the audience feel like he was singing to them and they responded.

Alex too was getting his fair share of attention from the ladies.

“Doesn’t that bother you?” Isabel yelled over the music to Liz.

“What? Them?” Liz laughed. “They get the fantasy. I get the reality.”

Isabel shrugged. “I guess that might help curb my jealousy.”

Liz laughed again as she looked at Michael. “Michael, you’re drooling.”

He wiped his mouth with an exaggerated swipe, but never took his eyes off of Maria.

By the end of their set, the club was electrified. After three encores and headed back to the dressing room.

Alex walked up to Isabel. “What’d ya think?”

She wrapped her arms around his neck. “I think I’m gonna be the envy of a lot of horny women.”

Still in pain. Still can't walk. However, I thought I owed you the next part.
