Part Eleven



Max sat quietly holding Liz in his arms, he knew what was going to happen.

He knew that this would most probably be the last time he could hold his Liz in his arms.

The last time that he would ever be loved by somebody.

He had to make a decision.

Could he leave his home to be with Liz?

Would he?

Liz however was having similar thoughts.

She thought of Roswell.

She didn’t have a home there yet, in fact she was planning on staying with her parents until she could buy one.

If Max went with her they could look together, they could buy a bigger apartment- maybe even a house.

Liz could show him around the town, she could show him what life was like outside of this island.

They could always come back.

They could build a cabin here and come up in the holidays.

Just because they would be leaving didn’t mean they would never ever come back.

They could show their children where their father grew up.

Children.

Liz thought of that one word.

She knew that she could never let Max go, she had known him for such a little amount of time but she still thought about marriage and children.

These were things that Liz never saw herself doing in the future.

She never believed that she would meet the right guy, but now she had.

Was she ready to let him go?

No!

Her parents, Isabel and the Garuin’s stood to the side, not wanting to interfere in the moment that Max and Liz were sharing.

When Liz finally spoke up their hearts were beating a mile a minuet.

“I’m not leaving” she says so softly it wasn’t even a whisper, but they all heard what she had said.

She held on to Max tightly.

“I’m not going” she says again.

Max understood what she was saying and he wasn’t about to let his Liz make the biggest mistake of her life.

Max shakes his head from side to side.

“Max go with Liz” he says nodding his head and smiling at Liz and her family.

Liz looks at Max’s smiling face but shakes her head, she couldn’t let him do that.

“I can’t let you do that Max, this is your home” Liz says as she cups Max’s face trying to make sure he understands what she is saying.

“Max go with Liz, Max come back with Liz later” he says as he looks up at his angels beautiful face.

“No Max” Liz says still feeling that Max would be making a huge mistake if he left the jungle to go back to Roswell with her.

Of course it would make her happy but would it make him happy?

“I’m going to stay here with you, in your tree house” Liz says trying to convince Max and herself as well.

She knew that she wanted to be where ever Max was.

But would she be able to survive on this island?

Was there any food?

Any clean water?

Her stomach rumbles at the thought of food, she hadn’t eaten in what felt like forever.

“Liz” Max says slowly, taking her hand in his much larger one and holding it to his heart.

“Max want to go with Liz, Max want to see Liz home- Max follow Liz where Liz go” he says and the way he says it makes her smile.

“Max learn new things, he fit in- learn how to speak real good” he adds making Liz and her family chuckle.

Whatever did she do to get such a wonderful guy?

“It don’t matter to Max if it not jungle, all that matter is that Liz there with Max- Liz is Max home” he explains as he looks into her eyes and Liz stares straight back, tears rolling down her cheek.

Her parents look on Nancy with tears in her eyes as well and Jeff with a smile, happy that his daughter had found a great guy.

Isabel and Maria where awwing and smiling as the watched the scene before them, while Michael just stood happy for his friend and hungry for his wife.

“Max love Liz” Max whispers as if it’s a big secret.

“Liz loves Max” Liz replies happily as she leans in her lips landing on Max’s.

This was the happiest day of her life.

She had found her Romeo, she had found her Tarzan- she had found her heart and there was only one word that it screamed for.

Max!

They were saved!
