Kyle gasped, biting his lip as the familiar wave of emotion washed over him and he knew that he had said something wrong. "Sorry," he stated quickly, trying to back pedal his last statement as the emotion continued to swell.
He barely felt the slap from Isabel's hand on his shoulder and cry of outrage at his comment when his eyes clouded over once more and he channeled the powers he gained as the queen's guardian.
"Kyle!" Isabel cried out in alarm as she noticed the sudden change in his eyes and glanced over at Max and Michael.
"It's happening again," Liz stressed as she turned her full attention to Kyle, almost happy for the distraction to her own inner thoughts.
Ava paled, reaching out to him. "Kyle," Ava began as she tried to push her feelings away, but found her emotions escalating as she suddenly felt the stab of fear of the possibility of hurting him. "I cannot-" she hiccupped, her eyed filling with tears as she glanced over at Max and Michael.
'Stand down,' Michael commanded as he did earlier and Kyle's eyes fluttered closed and his body stilled.
Kyle blinked in alarm, standing up. "Is it going to be like this all the time?" He questioned sharply.
"I do not know," Ava sighed, shaking her head. "My powers are weak, I cannot control them- I was unable to block my feelings from triggering your link."
"Understandable," Liz stated. "I'm sure that once your full strength returns, you'll be able to control your powers."
Kyle groaned glancing between Liz an Ava, "look, I'm sorry- I didn't. Hell."
'I will mend,' Ava offered softly with her mind, reaching out to Kyle. 'Will you be-'
'Fine,' he sighed, running his hand through his hair. "I'll be fine," he stated as the others looked at him expectantly. "I just need some air."
Liz blinked as she realized that part of the conversation she was hearing was not being spoken out loud. She glanced at Max who looked away from them, his thoughts seemingly somewhere else. She exhaled sharply as she realized that she had heard the similar stirrings of voices earlier between Michael and Kyle, but they were so unclear- unlike this time. 'Kyle, Ava?' She tried and they both turned to her, shocked as her voice washed over them.
'Liz?' Michael began, slightly startled at hearing her voice as well.
'What's happening?' Liz inquired as she glanced between the others.
"I second that," Isabel stated as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Why can I hear you in my head?"
"You can hear them?" Max suddenly questioned, staring at his sister.
Michael chuckled, shaking his head. "Max is a little cranky that he can't hear us- apparently it's how we used to communicate on Antar. The power has been dormant since we began talking."
"Oh," Isabel nodded as she glanced at Kyle and Liz. "So, why can Kyle and Liz-"
"Liz?" Max gasped, interrupting his sister as he turned his gaze back to Liz. "You can hear them?"
"Yes," she replied with a small nod of her head. "As clear as day."
"I so didn't expect that," Kyle stated, smiling at her as he turned his gaze to Ava. "You think maybe Max-"
Ava inhaled sharply, her eyes widening. "You gave her your ability when you healed her! That is why you cannot remember, you no longer have the power to do so."
"You probably didn't even realize it," Isabel mused. "You've never used your powers to that extent."
Max nodded slowly, "I'm not sure if that's better or not." He paused as he gazed at Liz. "I didn't mean-"
"It's fine," Liz assured him quickly.
"No," Max sighed, shaking his head. "It's not. I've made a mess of things."
"At least you've admitted that," Kyle snipped and Max glared at him in return.
"I thought you needed some air," Max replied sharply and both Liz and Ava sighed.
Before Kyle could reply and escalate their bickering, the front door slammed open and everyone turned to see a flustered sheriff come running through the doors. "Dad!" Kyle cried out as he crossed over to him.
"My god, Kyle." He gasped as he immediately wrapped his arms around his son and hugged him briefly. "What the hell happened? One second you were talking to me on the cell and the next second all I could hear was silence and shouting, were you fighting? I was worried sick."
"Oh," Kyle paused, flushing slightly. "Yeah, about that-"
"I am sorry," Ava interrupted and Jim turned to her, his eyes widening ever so slightly. "It is my fault that your son started the fight- it shall not happen again.
He nodded. "James Valenti," he stated as he reached out his hand and she smiled, offering her hand to him. "Sheriff of Roswell and Kyle's dad. You must be Ava."
Ava nodded as they shook hands. "Avaena Viscont, former Queen of Antar."
"Queen?" Jim repeated as he glanced over at the others. "You're royalty?"
"Queen," Isabel echoed, her eyes widening at the news.
"Yes," Ava nodded as she glanced over at Max and Michael, before settling on Isabel standing before her. "And you were a princess, brother to the King-"
"Max was the King?" Isabel gasped as she studied them. "And Michael?"
"He was the King's second in command and your betrothed," Ava explained as Isabel's mouth dropped open.
"I was engaged to Michael?" She gasped, paling slightly as she turned her gaze to Michael and he nodded.
"Wait," Jim interrupted. "If you are Queen and Max, King- I'm assuming you were married?"
Ava stiffened. "Yes," she replied as she cast her gaze over at Liz. "We were the Royal Four."
"How come we don't remember this?" Isabel questioned softly, not wanting to believe her. "How do we know it's true?"
Ava shrugged. "You were to remain in your pods until your majority- but, something went wrong. Our protector should have explained everything."
"Nasedo?" Jim questioned. "He hasn't really been around for them."
"But, you have." Max pointed out. "And for that- we do thank you."
Jim nodded as he glanced at his son. "I think we can call it even."
"I know there are more questions," Ava began softly, yawning. "I will answer what I can, but I feel I must rest- it has been a long day for me."
"You can rest in my room," Kyle volunteered as he offered his arm to her and she took it.
"Until later," Ava smiled as she offered a small wave to the others before they disappeared down the hall.
No one protested their leaving, knowing that Ava must be tired after everything. Max sighed, turning to the sheriff. "I know it's too much to ask-"
"She can stay here," Jim smiled. "Until we can make further arrangements and we speak to Nasedo on this matter."
"Nasedo," Max exhaled, shaking his head, not really wanting to talk to him. "We can meet later, after Ava has a chance to rest."
"You can meet back here in a few hours," Jim offered and the others nodded, slowly filing out of the house and awaiting cars.

Thank you, begonia9508, Flamehair, Synera, and Rowedog for the feedback! It means so much to me.
I hope this next part is okay, I was having some issues with it-
Enjoy!
~
Max stared out into the distance, vaguely aware that Michael and Isabel had parted from his company. They said a brief good bye and reassured him that they would return in a few hours to pick up where they left off. He glanced back at the house, tempted to speak with Ava again, alone.
"You love her," Liz offered softly and Max turned sharply to her.
"No," He stammered, protesting as he shook his head. "I don't love her-"
"You're jealous Max," she exhaled. "Don't bother to deny it. The tension between you and Kyle is more than tangible."
Max clenched his jaw, unable to deny her statement. "Kyle started it."
"Now you're just being juvenile," Liz sighed, blinking back the sudden burn of tears. "I can't do this, Max. Once you've decided what you want, let me know."
"Liz," he gasped reaching out to her and grasping her hands into his. "I feel as if my life has been turned upside down in the last few hours-" he began as he pulled her close, wrapping his arms around him. "But the one constant thing I do know is that I love you."
Liz stiffened, pulling away. "I'm not sure that is enough," she whispered sadly glancing back at the house. "I saw you- you're jealous of Kyle, of his closeness with Ava. She's your queen."
"But, I'm no longer the king," Max protested, reaching out once more to her. "Can we go somewhere alone, to talk?"
Liz paused, worrying her lower lip. "Yes."
~
"Stay with me," Ava insisted as she held onto Kyle's hand, unwilling to let him go. "Please."
Kyle raised a brow at her request, his heart skipping a beat at the thought of staying near her, providing her with the support she needed. "Okay," he drawled as he sat down on the bed beside her. "But, you'll be fine-"
She nodded as she shifted on the bed and curled up onto her side, entwining her fingers into his, squeezing his hand lightly. "I am afraid to close my eyes," she whispered after a slight pause. "It was so dark-" she gasped, her voice trailing off as she shuddered at the memories of being trapped in her pod.
Kyle sighed, closing his eyes briefly, unable to even imagine such a thing. "I'm here," he whispered as he squeezed her hand, trailing his other hand over her back. "You have nothing to fear."
Ava smiled, rolling over and resting her head on his thigh. "Thank you, my guardian," she whispered as she allowed her eyes to flutter close, taking a deep cleansing breath.
Kyle couldn't help but smile at the tenderness in her voice and continued to rub her back as she drifted off to sleep. "Anything for you," he whispered softly, wanting nothing more then to make her happy. He watched her sleep for a few more minutes before he too found himself drifting off to sleep.
~
Max ran his hand through his hair as he exhaled slowly. He turned his gaze to Liz sitting quietly beside him.
"I'm sorry," Max whispered after a strained silence and Liz sighed, shaking her head.
"Sorry for what?" She questioned softly, her heart aching to hear the words.
Max sighed, "For being a fool."
Liz couldn't help but laugh at that and she sighed, reaching out to him and squeezing his hand. "Is that all?"
"No," he chuckled, shaking his head. "I let my emotions get the best of me, and I just couldn't see out of my own head- to see how this affects us all."
"Yeah," she nodded, leaning her head against his shoulder as he wrapped his arms around her. "This is pretty big," she added softly after a slight pause. "Nasedo lied to you," she continued, worrying her lower lip. "Or at least kept the truth from you- I don't know what is worse."
"Nasedo," he sighed. "I'm not looking forward to that conversation- I can't believe he never said anything. Ava was close to dying, if it wasn't for Kyle-" he whispered, his voice trailing off, unable to voice the possibility of that fate.
"Kyle?" Liz questioned, slightly confused. "I don't understand."
"She wasn't breathing when we first released her from her pod," Max explained, shuddering as he recalled the moment. "I couldn't establish a connection- I failed her."
"And Kyle, did?" She prompted and Max nodded.
"I didn't realize he knew CPR," Max shrugged. "But, she's living proof that he did. I just can't believe today's events- I was just eating lunch at the diner a few hours ago."
"And the dreams?" Liz began, turning more to him. "Were they as Kyle said?"
"I honestly don't know," he whispered. "I only saw vague flashes when we connected, but the familiar feeling I had was there."
"Oh," Liz gasped, stiffening in his arms, suddenly recalling his statement late last night. I keep thinking someone I love is hurting. "So, you do love her."
"What?" Max drawled. "No-"
"Max," Liz sighed. "You said so last night, 'I keep thinking someone I love is hurting'. You-"
"Yes," he groaned. "I do feel something for her- perhaps I loved her once, and perhaps I could love her again," he stated as Liz pulled away from him. "But as you stated earlier, she has connected with Kyle-"
"Hence your jealousy," Liz pointed out as she crossed her arms over her chest. "And do you want to know what makes it worse?" She sighed once more, shaking her head. "Is that she is beautiful, and there's such this innocence around her- I could see her as a true friend."
Max couldn't help but smile at that, suddenly picturing the two side by side, smiling at him, beckoning him closer. "That would be nice," he all but purred.
Liz gasped, her eyes widening at his meaning. "Max!" She cried in mock outrage. "Men."
"What?" Max grinned as he pulled her close, kissing her softly.
"You're incorrigible." Liz sighed against his lips.
"I love you," he whispered as he ran his fingers through her hair, kissing her once more.
"You better," she mumbled against her lips as she pushed away her insecurities and kissed him in return.

Thank you, begonia9508, Flamehair, Synera, Natalie36, Rowedog, Daydreamer23, and katydid for the feedback, it really means so much to me!
I am so sorry for the lack of updates- I went away this last weekend to the Supernatural con in Chicago, so I was without access to my computer for a bit... I had planned to update before I went, but Max wasn't speaking to me! *pouts* So, I've been writing scenes out of order, which didn't help this scene! *g*
This part finally worked out, I hope you agree. Enjoy!
An hour had passed and Jim had yet to see his son reemerge from his room. Concerned, he walked over and lightly tapped on the door before he opened it. "Kyle?" He called out softly, freezing as he caught sight of them sleeping on the bed.
He inhaled sharply, his hand instinctively tightening on the doorknob. Jim immediately wanted to call out and separate them. He knew, deep down that it was simple comfort and not what it appeared to be- a lover's embrace. Kyle was supine, his arms wrapped protectively around her waist and Ava was flush against him, her head buried into his chest.
"Kyle," he called out, a little more harshly then he intended and he watched as Kyle squirmed slightly in the bed. "Kyle."
"Dad?" Kyle groaned as he shifted once more, his eyes flying open as he suddenly realized his precarious position. "Oh," He gasped as he glanced down at Ava snuggled into his arms and he couldn't help but smile.
Jim watched the change in his son's face and he took pause, he didn't expect the strong emotions of love to flicker over his face. "I think we need to talk," he stated, trying to school his emotions of shock and bewilderment.
"Um," Kyle paused as he glanced up at his father and reluctantly nodded. "Just a sec," he grumbled as his father nodded and left the room.
Kyle sighed, running his fingers through Ava's curls, smiling to himself as she shifted against him and snuggled into his warmth. In that instant he didn't want to leave her or to move away from her, he wanted to stay in her embrace for as long as he could. But, he knew that his father wanted more than just a word with him. "Ava," he called out, trailing his hand down her back.
Ava shuddered against him, blinking up at him briefly before she turned her head away and muttered a protest into his chest.
"Ava," he urged once more as she sighed, blinking up at him once more her crystal blue eyes focusing on his. "My father wants to speak to me- or yell at me, not quite sure at the moment."
She raised a brow at his statement and shook her head no. 'I do not wish for you to go,' she stated with her thoughts as she tucked her head against his chest and sighed contently as she wrapped her arms around him.
He groaned as her simple touch sent a bolt of desire through him and settled in his groin. Kyle knew he needed to move before his father came back in and before the sexual stirrings became more. "Ava," he insisted as she huffed and let go, turning away from him and snuggling into his pillow.
Kyle instantly felt the loss of her warmth and shivered. He sighed and climbed out of the bed, glancing back at her with longing before he left her alone and headed out to speak with his father.
~
Liz reluctantly pulled away from Max's embrace, "you should go talk to her."
Max froze, his brow arching at her statement. "What? But, I thought-"
"I think you need to speak to her, to see-" she offered, her voice trailing off at the thought that maybe some time alone wasn't what was needed. "You need to see if there is something more."
Max nodded as he reached out to her and trailed his fingers down her arm. "It won't change how I feel about you-"
"I know," Liz whispered, forcing a smile to her face. "But, it may let you see how you feel about her."
Max paused, squeezing her hand. "I don't deserve you."
'I know,' Liz thought, but she only offered a small smile. "Go. I'll see you soon."
"Love you," Max smiled as he leaned in and kissed her softly. "I'll see you soon."
Liz nodded, watching sadly as he left her alone on her balcony. The last hour had been nice, but he was distracted and she knew that he had to get Ava out of his head before they'll be able to return to normal.
~
Max knocked on the door and frowned as Kyle answered the door. "What?" Kyle groaned. "Weren't you just here?"
Max bristled. "I'd like to speak with Ava."
"She's sleeping," he stated as he slammed the door in his face.
Max groaned and was about to knock again when the door opened revealing the elder Valenti.
"Come in," he sighed as he motioned him into the house
"I just wanted a chance to speak to Ava alone," Max rushed to explain. "Before everyone came-"
"She's sleeping," Jim stated as he glanced back toward the bedrooms. "But, I'm sure it'll be okay."
Max nodded, instantly feeling the heat of Kyle's glare across the room. "Thanks."
"You hurt her-" Kyle hissed in warning, before his father shot him a glance and he turned away muttering under his breath.
"Second door on the right," Jim stated and Max nodded once more and quickly made his way back to the bedroom in question.
~
Ava glanced up, expecting to see Kyle but was surprised to see Zan at the door. "Zan," she stated quickly, sitting up, running her hand nervously through her hair. "What are you-"
"I wanted to speak to you," he answered. "Can I come in?"
Ava nodded, studying him closely, her heart aching at all the reminders that this wasn't the man she had grown to love. "Max," she began softly, reminding herself of his new identity. "Come in."
"I needed to see," he stated and she instantly understood. He was unsure of his feelings for her, but she knew the truth. Max loved Liz more than Zan had ever loved her.
"Of course," Ava whispered as her eyes fluttered closed, her breathing hitched as she concentrated. She knew what she had to do.
"Ava-" Max sighed as he neared her and sat down beside her. "I just-" he began, his voice trailing off as Ava leaned over and kissed him. He tensed, letting himself respond to the kiss for a moment before he pushed her away, unable to enjoy it.
He felt nothing, it was as if he kissed his sister. Max smiled, sighing with relief as everything snapped into clarity. "I'm sorry," he stammered. "This isn't right- I love Liz. I have to go."
"I understand," Ava nodded. "Friends?"
"Friends," Max exhaled as they embraced and he quickly left the room.
Ava sighed, dropping the façade as the door closed behind him. Her fingers traced her lips, almost wishing she had kissed him, but she knew her heart would have never forgiven her if she had. She drew her legs up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. She rested her head against her knees, barely looking up as Kyle barged back into the room.
"What did he do?" He questioned harshly as he quickly went to her.
"Nothing," she whispered.
"Please," he grunted as she reached out and touched his hand.
"I let him go," she added softly as she blinked back tears that threatened to fall. "It was what he wished and as his queen, I am obligated to do as he desires."
Kyle frowned. "Ava-" he began as he suddenly realized he didn't feel any emotions from her. It was as if she had closed off her heart to her former husband and King.
"Hold me?" She questioned as she leaned more against him and he eagerly wrapped his arm around her.
"Anything."

"Anything."

Miss me?

Thank you, begonia9508, Rowedog, Flamehair, Synera, roswell4life, alizaleven, and LoveIsForever for the feedback! It means so much to me.
I'm so sorry I've not posted a new part, but my muse has been giving me problems (blame Max). I was able to write most of the next scene. So, I figured some was better then none. I'm not giving up on this fic- it just may be slower then I'd like.
Enjoy.

"So, another alien," Alex whistled low under his breath. "Sweet."
Liz nodded as she glanced around their immediate surroundings, taking in the empty diner. "Her name is Ava," she continued. "And apparently they're royalty."
"Let me guess," he chuckled. "Max was king."
Liz nodded once more, sighing. "And Ava was his queen."
Alex gasped, his mouth opening and closing. "Are they-" he began as Liz shrugged her shoulders. "Oh."
"Yeah," Liz whispered. "Max went over to speak with her, then there's a meeting at Valenti's later."
"That explains the cryptic voicemail from Isabel." Alex stated as he reached over and squeezed Liz's hand, both oblivious to Maria's approach to the table.
"Hey, Alex," Maria chirped as she swung her arm around his shoulders. "Did Liz tell you about Ava?"
"Yeah," Alex nodded, smiling up at Maria.
"She's so sweet," Maria gushed. "And cute, I'm sure she'll have half of Roswell High at her feet- she's petite, blonde- everything a guy could ever want and some."
"Is that so?" He laughed, his smile fading as he noticed the sad look in Liz's eyes. "Liz?"
"Yeah," Liz sighed, forcing a small smile to her face. "She's prefect."
Maria paused, noticing the look as well. "Liz?"
"I'm fine," she smiled. "It's just not every day you find out your boyfriend is royalty and is married-"
"Whoa," Maria gasped. "What? I so missed the memo- come on, dish."
Liz opened her mouth to reply when Max came through the doors, a smile on his face as he immediately crossed over to them. He pulled Liz to her feet and wrapped his arms around, leaning in for a kiss.
"I gather the meeting went well," Liz gasped against his lips, before kissing him softly.
"You can say that," Max grinned as they pulled apart. "Alex, Maria."
"Max," they smiled in return as Max and Liz sat back down at the table.
"So, back up a bit- royalty?" Maria began as she heard Jose calling her name. "Hold that thought." She groaned as she turned back, resuming her duties as the waitress.
"You weren't gone very long," Liz remarked as she turned her gaze to Max.
"It didn't take me long to realize the mistake I had made," Max offered softly, reaching out and taking Liz's hand in his. "I-"
"Oh, hey," Alex cut in as he stood up. "Um, I'll let you two be- talk amongst yourselves."
Liz smiled, nodding her thanks. "Thanks, Alex."
"No, prob." Alex smiled in return as he backed up a little and then went to sit at the counter.
"And?" Liz prompted as she turned her attention back to Max.
"I came to the conclusion that I only have sisterly affections for her," he stated, running his fingers over hers. "Once we were able to speak alone, I was finally able to filter everything else out."
"And Ava?" She questioned, honestly concerned over the new alien. "Does she feel the same?"
Max paused, shrugging slightly. "I assume so, she's the one that suggested that we'd be friends."
Liz frowned.
"What?" Max sighed. "I thought this is what you wanted to hear?"
"Yes," Liz nodded. "I just find it odd that she'd be in agreement after the obvious hurt she displayed earlier."
"You'd have to talk to Ava about that," he whispered softly. "I didn't explore-"
"I'll talk to her," Liz smiled as she studied him. "You sure?"
Max smiled. "Never been more sure in my life."
"Surer," She prompted, smiling brightly.
"Yeah," He chuckled. "But, that doesn't flow off the lips as well."
"Were good," Liz grinned, leaning up and kissing him once more.
"Good." Max sighed against her lips, deepening her kiss.

Re: Sunder (AU, CC, Teen) Part 14 12/30/07 pg 8
Thank you, begonia9508, Natalie36, Flamehair, extingman, Synera, Rowedog, and Michelle in Yonkers for the feedback! My muse and I love it!
Also, I was wondering too, can Ava still be considered Queen, since she gave Max what he desired?
-Yes, Ava is considered Queen.
Wonder about poor Kyle, though -- how much freewill does he still have?
-This will be explained more in later parts, but Kyle only feels very strong emotions from Ava, but he doesn't feel those as his own feelings. Once the guardian in him is triggered he has not control as of yet, but he will learn.
Slightly longer part this time, enjoy!
~
Kyle sighed, glancing at the clock on his desk then turning his gaze back to Ava. "They'll be here soon."
Ava groaned, shaking her head. "I do not want to tell them-" she whispered. "They are free, they do not know, I do not want to-"
"Don't you think they should be the ones to decide?" He questioned. "They have every right to know the truth about their past."
"Their plan did not work." She continued. "We were to be born within a year of our departure and return after integration- we were not suppose to be here, to live, to love-"
"Ava," Kyle interrupted. "Let them chose if they want to know."
Ava sighed once more, reluctantly nodding her head. "You are a true friend," she mused as she studied him. "But, they do not see you as such."
Kyle shrugged, "I'm new to their group- they don't trust me as of yet."
"They should," she smiled as she leaned in and brushed her lips against his cheek.
Kyle flushed, forcing himself from reacting more, wanting to kiss her properly. "In time." He agreed as he got off the bed and pulled her to her feet.
~
Everyone arrived within a few minutes of each other. Max, Liz, Isabel, and Alex arrived together and Michael and Maria followed after them. Kyle waited a few seconds for everyone to get comfortable.
"First off," he began as he glanced at Alex then back at Ava. "Alex, Ava. Ava, Alex."
"Hi," Ava smiled, waving her hand at him.
"Hey," Alex greeted, studying her closely. "How do you like planet Earth so far?"
"It is hot," she laughed, shaking her head. "Antar had a very mild climate."
"Antar?" Alex repeated, arching his brow in question.
"It is the planet we are from," she smiled as she glanced over everyone and then turned her attention back to Kyle at her side. "Kyle?"
Kyle nodded, standing in front of them. "Ava and I were talking it over," he began. "And she wishes not to go into detail about the past, of what she remembers and what you do not." He paused for a quick breath, not wanting the others to have a chance to interrupt him. "You three need to decide if you want to know more about your past, or if you want to move on from here. There's no need to know what will never come to pass, etc, and what not-"
"Is it bad?" Maria gasped studying her alien friends. "I mean-"
"Some memories are best left in the past," Ava whispered. "The plan for us has been altered, we were never meant to live amongst you, to learn, to love-" she sighed shaking her head. "I cannot help but think that this is for the best."
Isabel nodded. "I would rather not know the details," she smiled. "To know Max is truly my brother is all I really need to know. I love my life here, my family, my friends. I don't need to know the details."
"I would like to learn more," Michael announced, crossing his arms over his chest. "I've craved the knowledge of my past. I need to know." He paused as his gaze locked with Ava's. "But, that can be done later if you like, one on one."
Ava smiled, "if that is what you wish." She turned her gaze to Max, who seemed deep in concentration. "Max?" She prompted, glancing at Liz with worry.
"Max?" Liz began as she reached over and squeezed his hand.
"Can I think about it?" He questioned, squeezing Liz's hand in return. "As former king, I feel as if I should know- but there is a huge part of me that doesn't want to know."
Ava nodded. "I will always be here if you have questions," she supplied. "When you are ready."
"What was the plan?" Isabel asked, cutting into the conversation. "I mean, what was the original plan for our rebirth?"
"Well," Ava exhaled slowly. "As I mentioned before, we were suppose to land and let our pods age to majority. The original time frame was a year." She paused, rubbing the back of her neck. "We were to return as the Royal Four and win the war-" her voice trailed off as her heart constricted painfully. "I do not even know if the war wages, it has been so long since we departed."
"We are no longer needed." Michael added, understanding her meaning. "Nasedo never mentioned this, or you for that matter."
"Is he truly our protector?" Ava asked as she gazed at Max. "Do you trust him?"
"No." Max replied honestly. "He helped us with the FBI, he's very-"
"Aloof," Liz supplied.
Michael grumbled, "I was thinking more like cold and indifferent,"
"How about just heartless?" Maria gasped, shaking her head.
"I take it, he is not a good man," Ava mused aloud. "When do I meet him?"
"Next week," Max answered. "He was shocked that you were still alive and he said the earliest he could get out here was next week, if then."
"Should we not be his first priority?" Ava asked, confused. "I do not understand."
"It's part of his cover," Max shrugged. "Either way he wants you to stay close and not get into any trouble."
Ava nodded. "I was not planning on it," she sighed glancing around the room. "Where am I to stay?"
"You can stay here Ava," Jim stated from the other side of the room, making his presence known for the first time. "There's not much room, but you're the safest here."
"You can take my room, I'll sleep on the couch," Kyle offered and Ava smiled in return.
"Well," Isabel sighed. "If that's it for now, I think I'll go home and rest."
"I so agree to that," Maria laughed. "I have to work in the morning and my feet are killing me."
"Alright, that's a sign," Kyle chuckled. "Everyone, out!"
"Wait," Maria protested. "What about you know, essentials?"
"Essentials?" Liz questioned as Maria pointed at Ava's clothes. "Oh."
"Yeah," Maria nodded. "Ava needs clothes and well, essentials."
"How about we do a girl's day out?" Isabel grinned as she glanced between them. "Ava, would you like that?"
"A girl's day out?" Ava repeated in question. "What is-"
"Oh, it's when we girls go out and shop, go to lunch, etc." Maria explained. "It'll be fun," she winked. "It's tradition."
"Then I would love to," she smiled and the girls nodded in agreement.
Plans were quickly made for the following day and everyone filed out of the room, leaving only Liz and Max remaining.
Ava frowned as she studied them briefly. "Is something wrong?"
"Oh, no," Liz smiled. "I just wanted to speak with you, in private."
Ava nodded, waving her back to Kyle's room. "I trust you two to behave," she stated as she glanced between Kyle and Max.
"They will be," Liz promised as they made their way back to the room to speak alone.
~
Liz paused, searching for the words to say as Ava sat down on the bed, curling her knees up into her chest. "I just wanted to talk to you about-"
"You have nothing to fear," Ava interrupted, forcing a smile to her face. "Max loves you."
"And you?" Liz sighed, sitting down beside her.
Ava sighed, running her fingers over the bed. "I do have feelings for Zan," she replied honestly. "He was my husband and I care deeply for him, but with every passing moment I realize that the Zan I knew no longer exists. Max is not Zan." She whispered. "Max only has eyes for you."
Liz smiled sadly, needing to hear those words for herself, but instantly felt for Ava's predicament. "Oh, Ava- I'm sorry."
Ava blinked, surprised at her sentiment. "Is this not what you wanted?" She questioned, slightly confused.
"Yes," she nodded as she reached over and laid her hand over hers. "But, it's obvious that you still care for him."
"My feelings are inconsequential," Ava protested. "Max loves you, he is not the man I loved-"
"Ava," Liz sighed as she squeezed her hand. "Your feelings are important," she remarked, smiling as she recalled the few exchanges between Kyle and Ava. "But, I believe that you may find your feelings returned by another."
"By another?" Ava questioned as she studied Liz. "Whom do you mean?"
Liz grinned as she bumped her shoulder against Ava's. "Oh, I think Kyle has fallen pretty hard for you."
Ava blushed, smiling brightly, unable to remark on her observation. "Maybe."
"Yeah," Liz smiled. "Maybe."
Also, I was wondering too, can Ava still be considered Queen, since she gave Max what he desired?
-Yes, Ava is considered Queen.

Re: Sunder (AU, CC, Teen) Part 16
Thank you, Synera, Eve, Natalie, Flamehair, Rowedog, and Michelle for the feedback, it really means a lot to me!
I'm sorry for the lack of updates, real life has been keeping me busy!! Enjoy!
~
Liz sat down across from Ava and Kyle. "So, what's with the urgent distress call?"
"We thought," Ava began, briefly glancing at Kyle before she continued. "That perhaps you could help us."
"Okay," Liz exhaled, studying them closely. "Help you with what, exactly?"
"Every time Ava feels a sudden burst of emotion I go alien and she can't control-" Kyle rushed to explain as Liz held her hand out for him to stop.
"How do you expect me to help with that, exactly?" Liz questioned, her brow knit with confusion. "Why didn't you call Max?"
Ava sighed, making a face as her eyes darted at Kyle who simply glared at her- if looks could kill. "Oh," Liz gasped, suddenly understanding. "Gottcha."
"This morning we were watching some show, I leave the room for a second, and the next thing I know I'm about to shoot the TV with a blast." Kyle grumbled. "Apparently there was some Hallmark commercial."
Liz eyes widened as she smiled Ava. "Hallmark?"
Ava flushed, shrugging her shoulders. "It made me cry," she whispered softly. "I did not realize that he would feel the smallest bit of emotion and react- I did not want this for him, or for me. I do not understand- I have tried to block it. On Antar this would not have happened."
Liz nodded, turning her gaze to Kyle. "What if it's Kyle?"
"What?" Kyle gasped. "How can it be my fault?"
"You need to block it," Liz stated as she turned her gaze to Ava. "Could he learn to do that?"
Ava paused, her brow creased in concentration. "It does not hurt to see," she offered as she studied him.
"Okay," Kyle sighed. "Work your magic."
Liz nodded as she turned her gaze toward Ava. "Tell me about that commercial this morning."
Ava smiled. "There was a woman and she-" her voice trailed off as tears stung her eyes.
Kyle stiffened, the familiar rush of energy forming in his body. "It's starting," he gasped as he gripped onto the couch.
"Focus on that feeling," Liz began. "And hold onto it." Kyle nodded as her eyes darted to Ava. "Close off your mind- let your thoughts clear."
Kyle's body thrummed with energy as he focused his mind on the origin of it and within seconds he felt nothing at all. "Okay." He grumbled. "It stopped."
"Okay," Liz mused as she glanced between the two. "Can you manifest it yourself?"
"Huh?" Kyle gasped, staring at her.
"The feeling," Liz stated as she studied him. "If I'm correct, then the powers are always in you, it's not Ava's powers. They're yours."
"What?" Kyle stuttered, shaking his head as he stood and began to pace. "So, what? I'm some alien freak too?"
Ava sucked in a quick breath and glanced down at her hands. "I am sorry," she whispered. "Once Zan, Max, brought you back from the dead, you have no longer been human." She added as she looked up at him and then turned her gaze to Liz. "You have been altered- you are no longer fundamentally human."
Kyle exhaled sharply as Liz faltered slightly. They exchanged a worried glance and then turned away. "This will happen to me?" Liz questioned as she studied Ava.
Ava worried her lip and then nodded slowly. "In time," she whispered. "You may exhibit powers as well."
"And I got a jump start because of this-" Kyle began as he paced. "Guardianship thingy."
"I did not know it would be such a burden," Ava stated as she stood up and placed herself in Kyle's way. She reached out to him. "I am sorry."
Kyle sighed, looking into her unwavering gaze. "I- it's not." He groaned in defeat, shaking his head. "Ugh."
"Kyle." She smiled as her fingers brushed against his chest.
Liz watched them intently, momentarily forgetting about her own implication. She couldn't help but notice the current between them. The unspoken sexual tension, the love- Liz smiled.
"I'm fine." He stated, after a moment and turned his gaze to Liz. "So, focus on the feeling?"
"Yeah," Liz nodded.
Kyle took a seat and closed his eyes, gasping in shock as he felt the feeling spark into life. "Holy shit," he gasped as his eyes opened seeking both Liz and Ava. "What-"
"Oh, wow." Liz gushed, pleased that her assumption was correct. "Focus on it, let it grow."
Kyle nodded, letting his eyes close once more and took a deep cleansing breath. He let it grow, the energy crackling on his skin as he harnessed it. He opened his eyes, his eyes flickered black as he let a ball of energy grow in his hands and then he diminished it. "Okay."
"Now, block it off." Liz stated, looking to Ava for guidance and she simply smiles in reply.
He bit his lip in concentration and closed off the powers, blocking them. "Now what?" He questioned as he glanced over at them.
"We test it," Liz smiled. "Ava, think about the commercial again and Kyle, block it."
Kyle nodded, visualizing a wall as he focused on blocking it as Ava remembered the commercial once more. Kyle's body tensed momentarily as he felt a slight intrusion flicker in his mind then quickly fades.
"Kyle?" Ava began as she reached out to him and wrapped her fingers around his. "Did it work?"
Kyle blinked, smiling as he realized that it had worked. "Yeah."
"Splendid," Ava smiled at him, squeezing her hand.
Kyle sighed with relief. "Yeah, it is."
"So," Liz mused. "Can you use your powers?"
"Sort of," He nodded as he raised his hand, concentrating momentarily as a fireball appeared in the palm of his hand. "Not sure what else I can do-" he mused as he let the fire dissipate.
"But, it feels good to at least control it."
"Thank you, Liz." Ava gushed, smiling brightly.
"I'm glad I could help," Liz stated, her smile fading as she glanced down her hands.
"Yeah, thanks." Kyle added as he rubbed his head. "There will be more, won't there?"
Ava frowned. "Yes."
"What will they be?" He asked softly, not sure if he wanted to know.
"I do not know," Ava whispered. "We each have a power that is only are own. You have those of a guardian, but your true power will only manifest in time." She stated as she glanced over at Liz. "As yours will too."
Silence overcame them as they sat in contemplation. "I will help if I can," Ava added softly, smiling. "You are not alone."
"I appreciate that," Liz smiled as she glanced at her watch. "I should go," she stated as she stood up. "I'll see you later for our girl's day out."
Ava nodded, flashing her a smile. "Thank you again and I shall see you later."
"Yeah, thanks." Kyle stated as he offered her a smile of gratitude. "But, I won't be seeing you later-"
"Oh, Kyle." She teased lightly. "You're missing out."
"Yeah, yeah." Kyle snorted as he got up and walked out of the room.
Ava giggled, smiling at Liz as she walked her to the door. "Thank you."
"No problem," Liz smiled. "I'll see you later."
-Lol, good question. Valenti will put up the money at first, but he'll be reimbursed once Nasedo arrives. And yes, he's still the sheriff.Who's going to pay for all this -- the shopping, etc.? And it's very kind of Valenti (he's still sheriff in this?) to take her in and pay for her upkeep.

Re: Sunder (AU, CC, Teen) Part 17 3/31/08
Thank you Synera, Michelle in Yonkers, begonia9508, Flamehair, Natalie36, Rowedog, and Daydreamer23 for the feedback, it means so much to me!
Thank you cassie and Flamehair for the additional help! It gave my muse a kick in the butt it needed! So, not that long of a part, but at least it's a new part! Hee. Enjoy!
"Are you ready?" Kyle called out as he grabbed his keys. "Maria will kill me if I drop you off-" his voice trailing off as he noticed that the front door was cracked open and he spun around, looking wildly around the room. "Who's there?"
"Is it truly her?" A voice came from the shadows and Kyle squinted to see the man he knew as Nasedo.
"Who?" He questioned as he tried to steady his beating heart.
"The queen."
Kyle nodded, glancing back toward his room. "I thought Max said you wouldn't be here until next week at the earliest."
"I was able to get away," he stated as he stepped closer. "May I speak with her?"
Kyle shrugged, crossing his arms over his chest as he continued to watch him. "Ava!" He yelled. "Someone's here to see you."
"I shall be there in a moment," Ava called back and she appeared momentarily. "Kyle?" She began as she crossed over to him, stopping in her tracks as she noticed the man he was glaring at. She paused, staring at him, feeling a familiar vibe that she couldn't quite place. "Do I know you?"
Nasedo sighed deeply as he immediately went to his knees. "My queen."
Ava jumped back, mildly surprised and glanced at Kyle. "Ava, Nasedo. Nasedo, Ava."
"Nasedo?" Ava repeated, her eyes widening. "Our protector."
"Yes, my queen." He nodded as he remained bowed before her.
"There is no need to bow before me," she stated with crisp authority and waited as he stood before her. "You feel familiar to me." Ava added softly as she continued to study him. "Would you take your original form?"
Nasedo nodded as he glanced between the two before he closed his eyes. A bright light emitted from within him and morphed out, cocooning him in an eerie glow. He opened his eyes as he took the form the queen knew in her past life.
"Jaque!" Ava gasped as she fully recognized him and rushed to embrace him. "They did not tell me it was you." She gushed as they hugged and Kyle stared at the two.
"Who the hell is Jaque?" Kyle questioned as they pulled apart and Ava smiled brightly at him.
"Kyle," she grinned. "This is Jaque, he was my father's second in command- he is almost like a father to me. He has protected me for years."
Kyle studied the man briefly. "Oh, yeah? Then why has he been an ass most of the time?"
Ava frowned, stepping away from Jaque. "Why have you hidden your true self?" She questioned, holding her head high. "Why have you been an-" her voice trailing off as she looked to Kyle for help.
"An ass," Kyle crisply stated, his eyes glued to the man he's known as Nasedo.
"It's very simple my queen," he sighed. "I thought you had perished- I had failed. Everything I've done to protect you has been for naught."
"Does this mean you shall be the former man I've known all my life?" She whispered, her voice full of hope. "We can use your strength and knowledge."
"I'm not sure the others are quite ready for that knowledge." He stated and Ava sighed, knowing he spoke the truth.
"Michael is," she smiled. "But you are right. The others are not ready- in time perhaps."
"I hate to cut off this beautiful moment," Kyle interrupted. "Bye Ava is supposed to meet the girls at the mall and if she's late, it's my head."
"The mall?" Nasedo repeated as he looked between the two, his face slightly amused at the news.
"Yes, we are having a girl's day out," she smiled.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Kyle nodded. "And it's going to cost a small fortune to buy you the basic essentials Maria claims she needs."
"Ah," Nasedo smiled as he whipped out his wallet and handed Ava a credit card. "Get what you need."
Ava crinkled her nose as she took the plastic card from him and turned it around in her hands. "What is this?"
"A credit card," Kyle laughed. "Don't worry the girls now how to use it." He glanced at Nasedo and smiled. "Thanks."
"Not a problem," he replied. "It's my duty as their protector to take care of their needs."
"Thank you," she smiled as she tucked the card into her pocket.
"I will be back later," he stated as he reverted back to his previous image with a flicker of light. "Have a good day."
"You too," Ava replied quickly as she hugged him once more. "It was good to see you again."
"It's my pleasure, my queen." He whispered into his ears. "Your father would have been so proud of you."
Ava flushed. "Thank you."
"Ava," Kyle interrupted once more. "We really have to go-"
Ava rolled her eyes and reached out to Nasedo. "Will you come back for dinner?"
"I would love too," he smiled as he nodded his head.
"Swing back at six," Kyle added quickly. "I'm sure my dad will want to talk to you about, all this."
"Of course," Nasedo mused. "I will see you later."
"Yeah, yeah." Kyle snorted as he glanced over at Ava. "Let's get going."
Ava smiled, shaking her head. "After you."

Re: Sunder (AU, CC, Teen) Part 18 (8/10/08)
So, it's been a long time since I've updated and I doubt anyone still remembers this fic, but I finally got past the writer's block that I had! *g*
Thank you to all that has left feedback and bumped up the fic, it meant so much to me!
Enjoy!

"He came to see you?" Max asked incredulously, "Without speaking to us?"
"Yes," Ava nodded, offering a small smile as she glanced over at Kyle. "He spoke with us."
Max followed her gaze and frowned. "With us?"
"What's your problem?" Kyle grunted. "We didn't have to tell you jack shit- he didn't even mention telling you anything."
"Kyle," Ava warned and Kyle rolled his eyes in reply. "He shall be back at six for dinner."
Max nodded, glancing away from her and spying Liz's concerned gaze. "Okay." He paused as Liz gestured to one of the many shopping bags on the floor. "How was your first shopping trip?"
Ava grinned. "It was wonderful. We do not have such luxuries on Antar-" she rushed to say. "Maria and Isabel helped me immensely."
"A full wardrobe and everything to go with it," Liz added with a small wink.
"That's great," Jim stated, overhearing their conversation from across the room. "Should we expect everyone for dinner then?"
Kyle shrugged. "Ask the king."
"Jaque-uh, Nasedo will be here." She stated with authority as she studied Max. "And I think everyone should wait until another time-" she raised her hand as Max began to interrupt her. "He wishes to speak with Jim, about my current living arrangements."
Jim nodded. "Then that's what we'll do."
"But-" Max groaned as Liz tugged on his arm. "What?"
"I know you want to be here," she stressed, forcing a smile to her face. "But this isn't the time." She glanced quickly at Ava. "I'm sure you'll get a full report in the morning."
"Yes," Ava smiled as she crossed over to him. "Please, Max."
Max looked between the two women of his life and sighed. "Okay."
"Thank you," Ava gasped, her smile widening. "I shall have more information at the time as well."
"We should go," Liz prompted, turning to Ava and hugging her. "It was great spending some quality girl time together- remember what I taught you."
"Right." She laughed. "I don't need to speak so properly."
"See, you're catching on."
"It shall-" she paused, crinkling her nose in concentration. "Um, it'll take some time."
Liz smiled. "I'm sure it will."
"Call me," Max stated, meaning it more as an order then a recommendation. "In the morning."
"Yes," Ava nodded. "Good bye."
"Bye," Liz and Max replied at the same time as they left the living room and made their way to the door.
"Good riddance," Kyle grumbled as he took a seat and flipped the TV on.
Ava sighed, sitting next to him. "Shall it always be this way between you and Max?"
He snorted. "This is good, you should've seen us a few months ago."
"Oh," she gasped, staring blankly at the flickering TV screen. "It'll take time."
"Yeah."
Ava nodded. "In time."
~
Dinner was a quite affair. Jim and Nasedo talked the basics about Ava's welfare and they agreed that she should stay with the Valenti's until he could return home for good.
"Is this in your liking, my queen?" He began as he turned to Ava.
Ava nodded. "It is all that I've known."
"Very well."
"My only regret is that there's not enough room," Ava sighed, glancing at Kyle. "I've taken over Kyle's room. I do not wish for him to sleep on the couch-"
Nasedo raised his hand, nodding in response as he turned to Jim. "Are you opposed to moving?"
Jim blinked, "What are you suggesting?"
"I have a place, not far from here." He began, rubbing his chin. "It's a four bedroom house, it's fully paid for under the name of Ed Harding- it was my cover when I moved here."
"You want us to move into your place?" Jim questioned, slightly shocked. "I don't know-"
"It's practically empty," He shrugged. "I can officially sell it off and no one would be the wiser. It will be more fitting for all."
Jim sighed, glancing at the two expecting faces at the dinner table. "I guess, that's that."
"Awesome," Kyle grinned.
"I'll have the papers drawn up in the morning and sent to you," Nasedo nodded. "I'm afraid I'm going to have to cut our evening short. I must leave early in the morning to head back-"
"Do you have too?" Ava gasped. "I have more questions-"
"I'm afraid so," he paused, biting his lips. "They want to reopen the Special Unit and I need to stop them."
"For everyone's safety," Jim nodded. "I'd have to agree. When can we expect to see you again?"
"Not for some time, I'm afraid." Nasedo sighed. "I don't want to alert them to my visits here- I took a risk coming as it is."
Ava frowned. "I did not mean for you to take a risk in seeing me."
"For you my queen," He smiled. "I was willing to risk my life."
She blushed, nodding. "It was good to see you again Jaque, please return when you can."
"I shall."

"I shall."

Reposting since my last post was lost.

A week passed by uneventfully as Ava began to accustom her life to living on Earth. She enjoyed learning everything she could about her new world and she loved her tutoring sessions with Liz. Everyone took their turn, but found that her desire to learn was often insatiable and they found that they were unable to teach her what she wished to know. Liz however was able to light the learning process and facilitate her learning.
They would meet every day for two hours, maybe more depending on the subject on hand. Ava would pick the subject and they would go form there, until her baseline was the equivalent or more to that of an incoming Junior. Liz was determined for her to be ready for school in the fall.
"What would you like to learn today?" Liz questioned as she sat down across from Ava on the picnic blanket and immediately started rummaging through a stack of papers. "Let's see- you've mastered math, history, and English. Should we try a little science today?" Liz began as she glanced up to see Ava still staring off into space. "Ava?"
Ava sighed, bringing her knees to her chest. "I've been thinking," Ava stated as she turned her gaze to Liz's. "I want an Earth name."
"An Earth name?" Liz repeated as she stilled her hands and stopped to really study her friend. "Why would you want that? Do you not like Ava?"
Ava smiled meekly glancing away from Liz. "I don't think I'll ever be able to let go of the past like my family until I too adopt an Earth name. Max, Michael, Isabel- they are free to do as they wish and I feel as if I'm stuck behind."
"Oh," Liz nodded, offering her a small smile. "I can understand that. What name would you like?"
Ava flushed, shaking her head. "I'm not sure," she confessed. "I had hoped you'd help me with that."
Liz smiled brightly, more than happy to help Ava find her new identity. "I'd love to- is there anything that you're leaning towards?"
"No M's." She stated seriously. "There's too many M's in our little circle of friends. Max, Michael, Maria-"
Liz laughed, nodding her head. "Okay, no M's. Any other limitations?"
Ava shook her head, "Something pretty."
Liz laughed once more, "I don't think that's even possible to not have something pretty. You're gorgeous Ava, any name you pick will be pretty."
Ava blushed, smiling at the comment, proving Liz's point. "Thank you."
"Don't mention it," Liz grinned. "Now, a name."
"Yes," Ava nodded as she trailed her fingers over one of the books. "Do you have any suggestions?"
"Pick a letter," Liz suggested. "And we'll go from there."
"Um," Ava paused considering it thoughtfully. "S."
"S," Liz drawled. "Okay, how about Sarah, Stephanie, Susan, Sally, Serena-"
Ava shook her head, laughing lightly. "Or maybe not."
Liz laughed as she glanced over at Kyle and Michael playing basketball. She couldn't help but notice how close the two had become over the last week- they had really bonded over watching Ava. "Oh, boys." She called out and they paused, looking over at Liz.
"What?" Michael yelled back, dribbling the ball as he focused his gaze on the two.
"Favorite girls name?" Liz questioned and they both shared a look of confusion.
"Maria," Michael replied and Kyle snorted in reply. "What?" He gasped, glaring at him. "I like it."
"I'm sure Maria will appreciate it," Liz smiled. "But, no M's."
"Why?" Kyle asked as he caught the ball that Michael passed him. "What's up?"
"Ava want's an Earth name," she replied as they both paused and stared at her.
"But, I like Ava," Kyle protested and Ava smiled in return.
"Thank you," she grinned. "But I need a new name with my new life."
"Makes sense," Michael nodded. "But not sure how much help we can offer-" he offered as they shrugged and returned to their game.
"They're so much help," Liz laughed, shaking her head. "Now, where were we?" She began, smiling as she caught sight of Alex coming their way.
"Hey, guys," Alex smiled as he jogged up to the girls and sat down beside them. "What are we learning today?"
"Our studies are on hold," Ava informed him as his eyes' widened. "We're on a mission."
"Is that so?" Alex chuckled. "And what's the mission?"
"A name," Liz replied. "An Earth name for Ava."
"Now that is a mission," Alex agreed as he studied Ava closely.
"We are starting with the letter, S." Ava added as Alex nodded.
"Sage," Alex replied without missing a beat, smiling brightly at them.
"Sage?" Liz repeated, watching Ava for her reaction to the possibility. "Why Sage?"
"Well, she's a kickass action chic in the X-Men universe. She's superhuman and you're a hybrid, she has perfect memory and data analysis, oh and she was telepathic- in general she had all these mental powers, like you."
Ava laughed. "I see."
"It's perfect." Alex purred. "And she was hot." Liz and Ava shared a glance before they laughed out loud. "What?"
"I like it," Ava grinned. "Sage," she sounded out, crinkling her noise. "Does it sound like me?"
Liz shook her head no. "Sorry Alex."
Alex deflated, but then smiled brightly as a thought occurred to him. "She's also known as Tessa," he offered as Ava's eyes widened. "Tessa fits you nicely."
"Tessa," Ava repeated. "I love it."
"Tessa," Liz nodded as she studied her closely. "Sounds perfect to me."
Ava nodded. "Tessa, Tess. I like it."
"So, Tess," Liz smiled. "What would you like to learn today?"
Tess giggled as she let her new identity wash over her. "Science."
"Good choice," Liz winked as she opened up the book and they began a lesson.

"Tessa," Kyle mused as he sat with the bubbly blonde. "It's different."
"Do you not like it?" Tess questioned, knitting her brow in contemplation.
"It's pretty," he stated as he ran his hand through his hair. "I'm just so used to you as Ava."
Tess nodded, "But, I need this Kyle." She stressed as she leaned her head against his shoulder, reaching out and running her fingers over his. "I need to move forward, here, with you."
"Tess is good," He whispered as he laced his fingers through hers and squeezed her hand. "So, Tess. What's your plan?"
She shrugs, looking up at him. "I'm open to suggestions."
Kyle exhaled sharply and leaned in and kissed her softly. Tess responded eagerly, opening her mouth to him, deepening the kiss.
"Kyle," she sighed as she reluctantly pulled away. "I think perhaps, I should retire to bed-"
Kyle nodded, knowing that they should stop now before they took it too far. "Night Tess."
"Night, Kyle." Tess smiled as she turned away, glancing back at him before she disappeared down the hall.
