O.k. I'm excited about Friday! I'm going to see The Wolfman with my Dad. And we discussed new movies opening up soon. One of them - Shutter Island - looks promising

Re: Movie discussions
Yeah I want to see Shutter Island pretty bad too.
Okay has anyone else seen Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Autopsy Room 4? I know it's not really a movie but close enough.
I was laughing my ass off through the entire thing. And then at the end when she's moving his balls around to try to get a look at whatever was on the inside of his leg and he's like "oooo something's happening I was in hell and now I'm in heaven." I was dying, then the only reason the idiot doctors realize he's alive is because he gets a hard on, and that just made it worse. And the thing is the concept is scary, being cut open alive cause everyone thinks you're dead but it's just so hilarious that you can't take it seriously.

Re: Movie discussions
Awe I missed the movies. I haven't been able to go in a long time, but I was actually able to go twice this weekend. Once with my wife and once with my sister.
So first my sister. Saturday we went to see Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. First of all, why is the title of this movie so long? Seriously...I get that it's named after a book series but did it really have to have so many subtitles? Could you imagine if all the Harry Potter movies were called Harry Potter and the Wizards and the and the Sorcerer's Stone...Chamber of Secrets...Goblet of Fire...Prisoner of Azkaban...Order of the Phoenix...Half-Blood Prince...etc. But they're not. And you know why? Cuz no one wants to say all of that! But long ass name aside, the movie was actually pretty good. There were some scenes where I thought that it was trying too hard to be funny, but otherwise I enjoyed it. Although my knowledge of Greek Mythology may have made the movie a little more interesting in my head than it actually was. Although it was a bit a hindrance in a way. I remember thinking that I hoped the lead guy and girl didn't hook up because my mind kept going. "Wait, if she's the daughter of Athena, and he's the son of Poseidon, doesn't that make them like second cousins?" lol
Then Sunday Night, Mack and I went to see Valentine's Day. Let me just start out by saying this. Just because a movie has an all star cast does not make it a good movie. This movie is living proof of that. I don't remember how long the actual movie was, but it felt like it just dragged on forever! And part of that was because there were so many damn characters (most of them unneeded) that it had to drag on just to get through everyone’s story. And some of the stories were just fucking stupid. Some were cheesy as hell, and all of them were clichéd. As a matter of fact, it was kind of like this entire movie was attack of the Romantic Comedy Clichés. All of the hook ups were unbelievably predictable, and of course, all of the stories managed to magically intertwine with one another in the end. And yeah, I get what they were going for, but the cheesiness of the movie just overwhelms it, and makes everyone seem like they’re horribly overacting. I believe they covered every clichéd love theme you can possibly think of in this one movie. Frankly by the end (when it finally did end) I just wanted someone to shoot me in the head and put me out of my misery.
So yeah that was my weekend. Saw one pretty good movie, and one, god awful movie.

Re: Movie discussions
I saw The Wolfman on Friday night. OMG ... the makeup was fantastic! Just enough violence and blood to make this girl very happy
During the previews, I saw the trailer for Clash of the Titians. I remember back when this movie first came out (showing my age here!), so I'm doubly excited to see how the Krakken and Medusa are in the new version. I remember the old one and I hated the way you could tell where they cut and edited parts together and Medusa was slower than molasses and given that she's supposed to have a snake body ... it just didn't jive with me. And I knew that at 5 years of age!

I watched Gamer last night and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. It catches your attention but there's like practically no story until the last half an hour and everything just kind of happens.

Uh, Chad...not to burst your bubble, but the Harry Potter movies are all named directly after the books. I'm lookin' at a DVD case right now.RosDude wrote: Could you imagine if all the Harry Potter movies were called Harry Potter and the Wizards and the and the Sorcerer's Stone...Chamber of Secrets...Goblet of Fire...Prisoner of Azkaban...Order of the Phoenix...Half-Blood Prince...etc. But they're not. In the books, the lead characters are 12, so that's not really something that goes through your mind. But long ass name aside, the movie was actually pretty good. And I was distracted the whole time by the actress who played Annabeth, since she's also Kate on White Collar and there's a huge difference in age from one character to the other.
Chris Columbus has done way better than this before. Frankly, I expected better. He changed the entire mythology of the series in the first film, for heaven's sake. I've never seen him do that before.

Sam: They were just doing their job.
Dean: No, they were doing our job, only they don't know it so they suck at it.

That's the saddest moment in Disney film history second to Bambi's mother getting killed. For me.
