I think I'm going to have nightmares tonight. I'm so glad you made it out okay. I hope the guy that took that video made it out okay too...he seemed really close to it.killjoy wrote:If anyone wants to see.....this is the tornado that killed my friend.Watch the whole thing it's far away at first but it comes right at the guy with the camera and gets VERY close to him.You can see it hit the mall

Re: The Official "Complain About Life" Thread
So the latest figures on the tornado outbreak......344 deaths nation wide with 238 of them in Alabama alone.
Re: The Official "Complain About Life" Thread
I came to this thread to complain about my life or lack thereof and then I saw killjoy's posts. I am now watching the tornado videos. Tornadoes are a big interest of mine. Just because you never know when they are going to strike or where. So now I feel a little better about my life because I have not had to live through something like this. I'm not going sound hypocritical and say I'll pray for this people. Because I'm not the type to pray, but they are in my thoughts.

Just read this on a online news paper.THis happened on June 6....sad
The Birmingham News reports that Garrett Jones of Pleasant Grove died early Sunday morning at University Hospital in Birmingham.
He is the 241st person in Alabama to die from the violent storms.
Jones' wife, Jennifer, died during storm when the couple and their dog were sucked out of their home while hiding in the bathroom.
The dog also died.
Jones has been in intensive care since the twister.
The couple had been married nine months.

Re: The Official "Complain About Life" Thread
Okay since my absence has been noticed I figured I'd drop a quick line. Physically I'm fine, as healthy as I ever am, and alive. However I've been having a really hard time emotionally at the moment and whenever I start to feel slightly better the hits keep coming...So I'm kinda isolating myself until I feel like a human being again. Anyways I'm alive, I'll be back eventually. Hope everyone's having a better time lately than I am.

No complaints really.
Just want to wish all my fellow East coasters a safe and comfortable storm weekend - thoughts and prayers are with all of us.
Stay dry New Jersey

My thoughts are with you guys as well. They evacuated where I live in Coney Island, Brooklyn. I'm currently staying at my aunt's house in the Bronx.jake17 wrote:trulov wrote:No complaints really.

Omg Ellie I had no idea you lived in NY,
Im so sorry you had to be evacuated, I just really hope your safe
I just read a comment about the hurricane...
She lives in New Hampshire, said she wasnt worried that she has relatives in North Carolina & they are fine. They had minimal damage, heavy rain & some strong winds,
She believes that this is being blown way out of proportion..
I really hope she's right because the news is scaring the hell out of us!
Anyway I will be thinking of you Ellie, stay safe
Love to u

*peeks out door* Ellie, Carrie - you guys okay?
We're pretty good here - didn't lose power - not nearly as bad as i expected.
My road's washed out though - the dogs were swimming on it
.
I didn't really plan on going anywhere today anyway.
Hope everyone is safe and sound.
