Hey everyone!! Yes I know I usually post on Mondays but my job as my family's taxi had me busy lol. I'm glad everyone is enjoying my fic. I've been reposting some of my other fics on the site since some have had a good following and the links were either lost or incomplete. Both parts of Little Lola are on the Alien Abyss board and Overprotected are on the UC board. Hope some old fans come and re-read and I hope to draw even more new readers!
OK on with the fic...
Part 11
Max was beside Zan as they continued to walk through the woods.
“Are we getting closer?” Max asked him.
“Yeah, she’s pulsing out to me. But something’s wrong, she’s in a panic.” Zan said worryingly.
“What is it? What’s wrong?”
Zan stopped and closed his eyes.
“Liz.” Was all Zan said before Max took off in a dead run, letting his instinct guide him.
~*~
The sight before them made Max stop. He’d found them, but they were all screaming, kneeling over a body.
“Liz!” He heard one of them scream.
He was at her side in an instant, pushing the women aside.
There she was, blood on her face, coming out of her ear, nose and mouth. He checked her pulse and found none.
“She’s dead.” He looked to the woman who’d said that and glared.
“Not for long. Not if I can help it.” Max growled. He put his hands on the side of her face and concentrated. There was some major damage in her. He placed his hand on her chest and let out a jolt of energy. “Come back Liz, damn it come back.” He said and shot another jolt into her heart.
Michael stood back watching his leader, his friend, trying frantically to bring this woman back. He looked over at Maria. She was still holding her arm, with tears streaming down her face. He walked over beside her.
“Fuck!” Max said, as he got no response from Liz. He couldn’t just let her die. With a fierce cry, he let another more powerful burst come from her. She lurched up and her eyes sprang open.
Max took the opportunity and started the connection with her. “Stay with me, don’t you dare close your eyes.”
Liz stared into his hazel eye. The shock had brought her back and now she was lured to him. All of him reached out to her, bringing her back. She felt him all the way inside, felt him through her veins, her bones, her mind.
She felt her life coming back to her like a movie. She saw her dad again, on one of their trips. She saw her mother back home worrying about them. She saw her father’s funeral. She saw herself recruiting women from all over to join her crew.
Then she saw him. She saw bits of his life. Back when he was a little boy on Antar. She saw him running around, playing pirate with his friends, never really knowing that he would really become one. She saw him crying after his parents’ death by the current leader. She saw him run off to find his own ship where he could take off and do whatever he wanted. He saw him meet Michael, and how they soon became best friends.
She gasped when she came back. There was nothing but his eyes again. His deep warmth remained within her. She smiled and looked around her. Everyone was looking at her in awe.
“Hey, you had me worried there for a minute.” She heard him say. She saw him smile but his eyes gave him away. They still contained the fear. What was he afraid of? Why was he so worried about her?
“You brought me back.” She said. He helped her sit up and she brought her arms around him. “Thank you.” She whispered against his ear.
She felt him nod against her and pull back.
“Liz!” Maria shouted and ran toward her. “Oh god Liz, I thought you were dead.” Maria cried.
“I was.” Liz sighed. “Sorry for the scare.”
“Don’t you ever do that again.” Maria said.
“OK the captain’s back. Now can you help us over here?” Lonnie asked. “Hey lover.” Lonnie smirked as Rath walked over to her.
“You’s ok? What’s wrong with you?” Rath asked as he kneeled beside her.
“Look at my legs. They out of whack.” Lonnie pointed to her legs.
“Max, you gotta help them too. Oh if only I had the gift.” Zan sighed as he cupped Ava’s cheek.
“You’re helpin’ me by just being here.” Ava smiled.
Left smiled at Liz once more before moving over to the rest of the injured.
“Please, help Isabel first. She’s been out for a while.” Liz said. Max nodded and moved to the one she pointed at.
Max scanned Isabel and found injury to her brain. Once again borrowing David to heal her. He moved on to Serena, Tess, Maria, and finally Ava.
“Wait. I want to help.” Zan stepped up. Max nodded and David moved out of the way. “I wanna help heal her.”
Ava smiled and closed her eyes feeling the warmth spread through her.
Max and Zan pulled back and help her up.
“Is that it?” Max asked as he took in several deep breaths.
“There’s two more alive in there.” David said.
“Oh, Eliza went in. maybe she found another girl alive.” Maria said.
“Nope. No girl, there’s a guy in there.” David said as he continued to sniff. “I’ll go get them.” He said and left before anyone could object.
~*~
David searched within the wrecked ship, turning his head when he encountered another dead body. All the blood around him made him dizzy. He continued to follow Eliza’s scent until he heard her crying.
He walked over to her.
“Oh, please help me. He’s trapped down there.” Eliza said as she held onto the trapped man’s hand.
“Move aside.” David told her and reached in through the mashed metal. “Is he conscious?” He asked her.
“Yes, just get me out of here.” The man called out from the small opening.
“Can you move away a bit?” David said as he gripped the metal in his hands. He heard the other man say yes, and then pulled the metal free.
“Oh thank you.” Eliza said as David pulled the other man up and free. “Chiron, I’m so sorry.” She ran into his arms. “Are you ok?”
“Amazingly yes. Your little shelter kept me safe.” Chiron smile. “Thank you.” He said to David. He gasped when he saw his eyes.
“Yes, I’m a vampire. But don’t worry. I’m the good kind.” He winked.
The three walked out of the ship and joined the others.
“Eliza care to explain your friend there?” Liz said.
“Um, remember when I came back that time with a big box, well this is Chiron.” She smiled and held onto him.
“Hi.” He smiled shyly.
“Kept him in leather huh? Nice.” Lonnie commented from the side.
“So you’ve been hiding him in your room all this time?” Liz crossed her arms across her chest.
“Yes. But only because you didn’t allow men on board. But Liz, I just had to, they were going to kill him.” Eliza said.
“So you rescue him, yet you had him in chains?” Liz questioned as she noticed the broken cuffs on his hands and the collar around his neck. “Why would you have him chained?”
Eliza looked over at Chiron then back at Liz.
“Well, I didn’t really know him at first. They were going to execute him at the prison. For all I know he was a criminal.” Eliza sighed. "So when I managed to sneak him off I kept him in a secret compartment under my room. I kept him chained at first for my safety. Then it kinda became a fun game.” She blushed and looked at Chiron.
“A game? I didn’t know you were into bondage.” Maria smirked. “And what did you think of this mister red leather?” Maria asked him.
“I resented the chains at first. I resented her too. She had rescued me, but only to imprison me as a sort of sex slave. I was chained down there and only had candles to light. I hated it. In the beginning.” He grinned and took Eliza’s hand. “But, after having this raving goddess grace me with her presence for so long, I ended up loving everything I thought I hated, including her. The kinky chains were a bonus after.”
“Awe a romantic story of dominatrix.” Ava laughed and hugged Zan. “Maybe we should try that sometime.”
“Anything you want babe.” Zan winked and bent down to kiss her.
“Ok, enough about your sex lives. I think we should start moving. If we were hit intentionally, we have to get out of here before they come out and start looking for us.” Liz said as she looked away from the loving couples. “And we need to get in the shade anyways. It looks like your vamp over there is burning up.”
“Yeah, any longer out here and I’ll become a torch.” David said as the sweat rolled down his face.
“I thought vamps couldn’t be out in the sun.” Serena said curiously.
“You need to keep updated. We can, just not for too long.” David said. “And if I don’t get blood soon, I won’t be the best of company.”

It Friday again, yay!!! Man I am beat, I've been job searching and it's exhausting! lol
Thanks once more for all the feedback. I am never let down with you guys.
Part 12
As they moved into the Antarian woods, they unconsciously paired up. Eliza and Chiron rounded up the end. Then it was Lonnie and Rath, Zan and Ava, Isabel and Alex, Serena and Kyle, David and Tess, Maria and Michael, and in the lead it was Max and Liz.
“Are you ok?” Max asked worryingly. He kept looking at Liz, searching for anything that could be wrong with her.
“I’m ok, stop worrying.” Liz smiled. “I died didn’t I?” She asked.
Max looked at her and thought about his answer. He didn’t want to scare her, but he didn’t want to lie to her either.
“You were dead for three minutes.” Max said. “I had to shoot energy into your heart to bring you back.”
“But that’s not all you did.” Liz said. “I saw things. When I looked into you eyes, I saw into you. I saw your life. It was like a movie playing in my head. Though it wasn’t just that I could see your life, it was that I could also feel what you did.”
Max was taken back at what she was saying. He’d healed before, but nothing like she was describing had ever happened. No one ever saw into him like she was saying. Though he knew the connection wasn’t one-sided.
“I, uh, I saw into you too.” Max said. “I saw your whole life. Your father, your mother, your life on Earth. I saw and felt everything.”
Liz smiled and took his hand as they walked.
“I felt something else too.” She said. “You were truly worried about me. You didn’t want me to die.”
“I wouldn’t want anyone to die. Not when I can help them.” Max said, trying to lower Liz’s revelation.
“No, it wasn’t just because of that. It was because of me. You didn’t want me to die. I felt it. It was you that pulled me back, not your powers. It was your…your…”
“Liz, Max, we need to find some food for David. He’s eyeing my neck as if it were a prime rib.” Tess called out cutting off Liz.
“I am not looking at you neck.” David complained.
“Yes you are. And you’re starting to smell.” Tess grimaced.
“It’s cause I’m turning into cooking meat here. I’m burning up.”
“Ok, we’ll stop for now. The little towns aren’t that far anyways. We’ll find something for David. Guys give him something to put on to keep the sun off of him.” Max said.
“Thank you!” David yelled and took off in search of something to eat.
“And he was eyeing my neck.” Tess said.
~*~
They waited until it was dark before going on. David had to stay in the shade, half buried in everyone else’s clothes.
“Hey, you missed a spot right there.” Tess said and swiped her thumb on the corner of David’s mouth, removing a smudge of blood.
“Thanks.” He smiled and ran his tongue over his lips.
“Sorry for eyeing your neck earlier.” David said with a shrug.
“Hey, it’s ok. It was kinda flattering.” She grinned.
“Well, you should be flattered. You’ve got a gorgeous neck. It took all I’ve got not to sink my teeth into you.” he groaned.
“Uh, thanks, I guess.” She laughed nervously. She drew back a little as his sharp teeth peeked from behind his lips. “Uh, your teeth are doing their scary thing again.”
“Oh.” David closed him mouth and shook the feeling away. “Sorry about that. Got carried away.” He said, embarrassed. “I’ll be good. Promise.” He smiled, his white eyes standing out in the darkness.
Max and Liz continued to lead the others. They remained a few paces ahead of the others, out of earshot of the rest.
“Why do you think we were shot at?” Liz asked Max.
“I have no clue. They’ve never done that before. I’ve never seen such force. We’re regularly a peaceful people.”
“Yeah, this coming from the guy with Zan and Rath on his ship.” Liz said with a smile.
“Hey, they’re from a totally different part of Antar. And anyways, they’re great guys once you get to know them.” He smiled. “So, how do you feel?”
“I’m fine Max. I thought we went over this already.”
“No, I mean how do you feel about the fallen of your crew?” He asked solemnly.
Liz looked at him, and then a dozen emotions crossed her face. It all came back to her. She lost practically all of her crew. Thirty-two souls had gone from the ship, only eight came out alive. She stopped, needing to take deep breaths.
“Oh god.” She felt her chest tighten and then the tears came. She had been caught up being the captain, caught up worrying about those who survived, caught up with dying, that she forgot about those who died.
“It’s ok Liz.” Max pulled her into his arms and comforted her. He knew what she felt like, but he didn’t have the luxury to break down. He could feel her tears soak his shirt, and the way her hands clutched at it. His hands rubbed her back trying to soothe her sobs. “I know what you’re going through. I lost most of my crew too.”
“Oh god, Max. I’m so sorry.” Liz pulled back and wiped her nose with the back of her hand. Max tried not to smile at how much it made her look like a little girl.
“It’s ok. Wasn’t my favorite shirt anyways.” He smiled.
“No, about your crew. Here I am blubbering like a baby, and you lost people too.”
Max smiled, but a glint of sadness coated his eyes. Yes, he’d lost a lot of great men. He shook his head and kissed her forehead.
“Let’s just keep walking, ok.” And she nodded.
~*~
It was an hour before they reached a small village. Max told them all to stay back except for Rath, Zan, Ava, Lonnie would also stay behind. He said it was safer for just Antarians to go into town first.
“Fine. I don’t like it, but fine.” Liz agreed and sat on the grassy ground.
Max smiled and walked ahead with the other three
Zan and Ava linked hands as they walked into the small village, watching the last Antarians walk home for the night.
“It’s been five years since I’ve been here.” Ava sighed.
“Eight for me.”
“So duke, what ‘xactly we gonna do?” Rath asked Max.
“We’re going to ask around to see what’s been going on since we’ve last been here. We need to know what we’re dealing with. Plus, we need supplies.” Max stopped and turned to Ava and Zan. “You guys go on ahead, find out what you can. Rath, you’re coming with me”
~*~
Liz closed her eyes as she leaned against the trunk of the massive tree. She’s only been to Antar twice in her life: The first with her father, the second on her own.
She loved the vast amount of green that covered the planet. She took a deep breath and sighed contently. She could see her father, taking her around the planet, taking her by the hand. He would even carry her on his shoulders when she got tired. He was a strong man. He was the noblest of space pirates in his time.
Captain Jeffery Parker. He was wise, kind, and a loving father. Liz’s mother didn’t find his occupation a fine choice, so she left him. But Jeffery made sure to always see his daughter. He took her on many of expeditions.
Liz felt a tear fall as she remembered the day some of his crew showed up at her home carrying her father’s few possessions. They had told her that he died on one of those expeditions. He was killed, but they wouldn’t reveal much about it. She remembered the sadness in their eyes, but there was something else there. Fear.
“Liz.” She opened her eyes to see Maria kneeling before her. Liz wiped the stray tear from her cheek.
“What’s up?”
“What’s going on in your head?” Maria asked as she moved to sit beside Liz.
“I was just thinking about my dad.” Liz smiled.
“Awe yes, the infamous Captain Jeffery.” Maria smiled back. “You look just like him you know? You have him in your eyes.”
“That’s what my mom would always say.” Liz said. “That’s why I left. I couldn’t take her looking at me like she did. She was always so sad.”
~*~
Zan and Ava walked hand in hand down the village’s road. Most of the inhabitants were either in their homes or in the pubs.
“You think we should go in and ask?” Ava said as they approached one of the small pubs.
“We don’t know what kind of people are inside.” Zan held her hand tighter. “You stick next to me, if anything goes down, I want you to bounce, you here me?”
Ava nodded and together they walked in.
~*~
“I don’t like this duke.” Rath said anxiously. “It’s too quiet, even if it is late, kids still be out, and now nothing. It ain’t right.”
“I know. Let’s just stay alert ok.” Max said. He too felt something in the air. There was tension clinging to everything around them.

Part 13
Max and Rath continued to walk, keeping their eyes and ears open for anything. They'd been walking for a while and they'd yet to see any signs of life.
"Look there's got the be someone in there." Rath said as he spotted one home with smoke coming out of a hole in the roof.
"Let's check it out."
They approached the home with caution, making as little noise as they possibly could. When they were a few feet away they could hear voices coming from inside, hushes voices.
"Be still, and be quite damn you." One voice whispered harshly. It was distinctly male. Rath and Max could hear sniffling and guessed there was a woman also inside.
"If you keep crying...." Then it got quite. Max froze and signaled to Rath to do the same. They heard the man hush the woman once more and slowly a viewspace on the door creaked open. "Who's there?" the man asked, still in a whisper. Rath looked at Max and stepped forward, revealing himself to the man.
"My name is Rath of Central Antar. This is Maxel of Upper Antar. We seek shelter and information." He said. Max was impressed by the way Rath addressed the man.
The man looked at them suspiciously but slowly opened the door. He ushered them in and locked the door behind them.
"So you are the man everyone's been talking about." The man said with a grin. "The curfew has been reinstated because of you. Everyone is afraid to leave their homes for fear of being taken in. What brings you here now to my home of all places?"
Max and Rath looked at each other then looked back at the man. They had no idea any of this was going on.
"We..." Rath started but Max cut him off.
"We just arrived to drop off some passengers. We've been seeking information of our homes." Max said cautiously.
"Ha, and I'm the king of Antar! Please man, I'm twice your age and twice as intelligent, we wouldn't be going through all this mess if you were merely dropping off some folks. The Blue Guards have been through here three times just today looking for Granolith knows what. Now you're going to sit down, eat this meal my lovely bond mate has prepared and tell me just what exactly you are doing here."
~*~
"Ok, stay behind me let me doing the talking." Zan told Ava before they stepped into the pub. Ava rolled her eyes but nodded anyways. Zan pushed open the door and waited for Ava to step through before walking over towards the bar. Everyone looked at them and the room grew silent. Zan could feel Ava stepping closer and holding on to his arm.
The bar keeper set a glass down in front of a patron and nodded his head at them.
"What'll it be?"
"Nothing right now," Zan said.
"Water...please." Ava asked nervously. The man nodded and handed her a glass of water.
"So anyways, that's what I heard." Zan heard the man across from them say to another.
"All those men just looking for some crashed ship? Nah that can't be it. The Blue Guard don't go around for no wreckage. It's gotta be something else." Said another.
Ava gripped Zan's hand anxiously and he smiled reassuringly.
“I’m just saying what I’ve heard.” said the first man. When he looked up and spotted Zan and Ava he nudged his friend, who turned to see them. Zan cursed to himself, hoping to keep out of attention. Ava noticed the men and braced herself for whatever was to come.
One of the men walked over to the bar and sat beside Zan.
“Keep, I’ll have another firewater.” He said. “What brings you here with such a lovely peach? The curfew is on right now. All of us here are only here because we have no place else to go.”
Zan was about to speak, but Ava straightened up and looked the man in the eyes.
“My family does not approve of me seeing him. This is the only place we have to go as well. Keep, I’ll also have a firewater.” Ava winked and then tossed back the drink when it was brought over.
“What are you doing?” Zan whispered into her ear. The man beside them merely chuckled and went back to his friend.
“Just play along lover.”
~*~
Max thanked the woman when she placed the steaming bowl of stew in front of him. It wasn’t until then that he realized just how hungry he was. The bread she next placed on the table made his stomach rumble.
“Ah man, I’m starving duke,” Rath groaned beside him. Max could see him restraining himself from just attacking the food.
“I can see you two haven’t had a meal in a good while. So let’s just start with this stew and then you talk.” The man said to which they all agreed.
Rath groaned when he took the first spoonful of the thick stew. It was rabbit with fresh Spring vegetables. He took a big piece of the warm bread and used it to soak up the stew. Max also ate with enthusiasm and looked up at the wife with satisfaction. She was matronly, smiling warmly and bustling to and fro bring them more stew, bread or water. A noise from the back of the small home drew her attention and she hurriedly left the room.
“The little one is sick. She vomits every morning without fail. Her tiny body is betraying her.” The man said sadly. They noticed him looking in the direction his wife had went. “She’s been sick for weeks now. It’s worse since we are not allowed to leave our home.”
“If you’d let me, I could look at your daughter and see what is the matter.” Max said.
“You are a doctor then? You can help my little one?” The wife reappeared from the back.
“I will try.”
~*~
Ava cringed when Zan’s grip on her hand kept tightening.
“Would you mind letting up? You’re kinda crushing my fingers.” She said between clenched teeth. Zan looked down and noticed his knuckles were white. He mouthed an ‘I’m sorry’ and let go of her hand. “So fellows what’s this I keep hearing about the Blue Guard?” She asked.
“Well peach, you obviously ain’t from around these here parts.” The man said. “The Blue Guard has been in this area asking a lot of questions and telling everyone to stay in their homes. Some say it’s about some rebellion but most say it’s because a pirate craft has been spotted near by.” The man drank his third shot and asked for another.
“So what do you think?” Ava asked. Zan remained silent, still trying to figure out just when he’d lost control of this situation. He continued to scan the other patrons in the pub. Some men were passed out in dark corners, but one he noticed sat in a far corner, completely shadowed and smoking. The man had been staring at them, or at least appeared to be staring at them since they first walked in.
“Well I think it’s true. Just yesterday I heard like some loud boom just outside of town. There was some smoke too in the woods. Ever since the Blue Guard has been making their way into them.”
Ava immediately turned to Zan, fear in her eyes. Liz and the others were out there, unarmed and unknowing.
“Zan we have to warn them,” Ava whispered urgently.
“We have to find Max and Rath.”
~*~
Liz tossed another small rock as far as she could. The night was getting colder and the others hadn’t returned. She looked around herself at the remaining different crew members. It was still hard to believe that she wouldn’t be seeing the other girls anymore. There would be no more Trant playing pranks on them. She would no longer be there to break whatever tension was there by jumping up on the ceiling and singing in her loud off key voice.
Young Styla, the youngest and newest member of their crew would not be coming to her for advice and providing her own feedback and unique point of view.
No they were gone, but they were never going to be forgotten. Liz would make sure of that. She knew someway she’d have to get word to the remaining families of her fallen crew.
“Liz,” Maria broke into her thoughts by placing a hand on her shoulder. “I’ve been hearing some noises in the woods, and I don’t think it’s any of ours.”

I come with good news and bad news.
Good news first.....I come bringing another part, lol
Bad news, I don't think i will be posting twice a week for a while. I have been posting faster than I've been writing. I don't want to run out of parts and leave you guys hanging for a long time without much updates.
I will stick to posting on Fridays and if i get enough parts finished i will post more.
Part 14
“How many?” Liz asked quietly, if it wasn’t anything bad she didn’t want to alarm the rest.
“Fifteen, maybe twenty. They’re being very careful not to make any noise, but I know they’re there.” Maria replied gravely. There were only thirteen of them including Liz herself, they would not be too outnumbered, by they were unarmed.
“Fuck!” Liz cursed. “Ok, everyone we got a problem.”
~*~
Max walked into the small child’s room and found the young girl laying in bed struggling for breath. He could see the layer of perspiration covering her small body.
“Her name is Symona.” The woman said, her eyes glazed with unshed tears. The girl moaned from the bed and the woman rushed to her side. Max sighed as he saw the woman dip a small wash cloth into a basin of water and place it on the girl’s forehead.
“May I see her?” Max asked and both the woman and her husband nodded. He walked over toward the small bed and kneeled. The girl moaned again and squeezed her eyes shut. Max could tell she was in a lot of pain. Placing his hand palm down over her head he closed his eyes and concentrated on her body as he scanned her. The fever was wreaking havoc on her young immune system. Her muscles were the most under attack which was causing all the pain she was feeling. Max found the cause of the virus in her left kidney. Opening his eyes he rolled her over onto her stomach and placed his hands directly over the infected kidney.
Rath held the mother back as the girl’s body jerked. The area Max had his hands on glowed and pulsed as Max struggled to get rid of the infection. As the girl’s body jerked so did Max’s as his energy surged through her. Max felt the tears running down his face as they did on the girl’s. With one final pulse he fell back exhausted.
“Mommy? Daddy?” The girl pushed herself up and turned to her parents.
“Symona!” The woman shouted and ran to her daughter.
“I feel better now mommy.” The girl said as her mother scooped her up into her arms.
Rath rushed to Max and helped him sit up on the bed.
“Water, please.” Max asked in a hoarse voice. The man nodded and ran to bring Max a glass of water. When the man came back and handed Max the water he stepped back and grinned.
“We haven’t had one of you in these parts in years.”
“Well I guess now’s a good time as any to explain who we are.” Max said.
~*~
Ava and Zan stood to leave but two men blocked their exit.
“Excuse us,” Zan said stiffly, but the men merely shook their heads and stood ground. Zan held Ava closer and sent her reassuring waves.
“Sorry, but we can’t let you leave.” Said one men behind them. Zan quickly turned and recognized him as the man in the corner. “You’re under arrest Zan of Central Antar.”

They had gathered anything they could use as weapons and formed a circle. Michael and Maria stood on either side of Liz. Lonnie was crouched next to Serena and Kyle scanning the woods for any movement. Tess stood close to David anxiously looking up at him every so often. His white eyes could see in the dark better than the rest.
“Anything David?” Michael asked.
“Yeah, fifty feet all around. I see about eight of them.” David responded and reached down for Tess’ hand.
“I can sense about four more on this side,” Lonnie said and set her body for attack.
“I can’t take this.” Maria said and crouched down on all fours becoming a large cat and running into the forest.
Liz was about to run after her but Michael held her back.
A minute later they could hear shouting and blasting in the woods.
“They’re coming!” Both David and Lonnie yelled before soldiers came running through the woods at them.
Lonnie yelled as she blasted two soldiers coming at her. David grinned as he pounced at another one, going straight for the neck. Tess screamed and took off into the woods, Eliza and Chiron on her heels.
“Damn it, stay together!” Liz shouted as she swung the log at one of the soldiers. Michael fought beside her carrying his own log and occasionally swinging his fists as well.
Isabel and Alex struggled with their load of rocks. Isabel looked frantically to her friends and saw that Tess and Eliza had separated from the group. Kyle and Serena fought hand to hand, using their bare strength to survive.
“Ah!” Alex screamed as a blast grazed his arm, burning a hole in his sleeve. Isabel gasped as he lunged at the soldier who fired at him. He’d gone completely mad.
~*~
All three sat spellbound as Max and Rath related their story. The man, Kevnar, would only interrupt to ask a question. Both mother and daughter sat quietly.
“And that’s how we ended up here.” Max finished.
“So it’s true then. You are who they are looking for.”
“Who’s looking?” Rath asked, leaning forward.
“Like I said, the Blue Guard has been around here. We weren’t sure what they were looking for, but now it’s obvious.” Kevnar raked his hand over his face. “You saved my little one, you can stay as long as you want.”
“As much as we appreciate that, we cannot accept your offer.” Max said, “We are not alone. There are more of us. And we do not wish to bring you any harm by our presence.”
“Well, we shall give you anything you need.” Kevnar said and went to their kitchen.
Minutes later he came back out with several large bags. “Take these. They will help you.”
~*~
“Ava, I want you to go.” Zan said between clenched teeth as the man fully presented himself.
“No Zan, I’m staying.” Ava said, pressing closer to his side.
“The girl can leave. I have no need for her.” Said the man, and two men came up and seized Ava.
“No!” She shouted and struggled as they led her out.
“Go Ava!” Zan shouted, ‘Warn the others,” he added through their link. She nodded through the tears and took off.
“That’s quite a catch you’ve got there Zan. I’m impressed. A thug like you snagging such a classy lady.”
“You leave her out of this.” Zan growled. He reached through the connection again to make sure Ava was still alright.
“Don’t worry Zan, she means nothing to me. You on the other hand, you are going to earn me a promotion.” Said the man. “Now, where is this great captain of yours.”
“He’s dead. You should know. You got us shot down.” Zan lied. There was no way he’d tell that sniveling little shit where Max was.
“Zan, Zan, Zan you never were a good liar. Hold him tight.” He said and the men immediately grabbed Zan.
“Fuck you Nikolas!” Zan spat out as he assumed what was to come. Nikolas placed his hand on Zan’s head and closed his eyes.
Zan screamed in pain as Nikolas preceded to Mind Rape him. He tried to block his thoughts but knew he was no match for the bastard. He could see his thoughts racing out.
“Ah, see you should already know there’s no use lying to me Zan.” Nikolas smirked. He staggered back slightly but quickly balanced himself out.
Zan slumped in the arms of his assailants and struggled for breath. He cursed himself for not being stronger.
“It’s ok Zan, it’s not your fault. They probably are dead now anyways.”
~*~
“Something’s not right, duke.” Rath said as they continued to walk into the forest. Max sensed it too. They had not encountered Zan and Ava as they walked back from Kevnar’s home.
“Shh, I hear something moving.” Max said. They both crouched down below the tall grass. They could both see the grass ahead of them slightly moving, and Rath raised his hand to strike.
“Wait,” Max whispered.
A large cat slowly crept out toward them and sat on its haunches. When a smiled spread on its face they both realized it wasn’t a regular cat. Sure enough it morphed into Maria.
“I’m glad it’s you two.” She said and stood. “We were attacked.”
“Attacked? Who? Where is everyone?” Max shouted as he scanned the woods.
“I don’t know. Some soldiers apparently. They surrounded us, on all sides. I shifted and ran at them.” She said and showed them her left arm, badly injured. “After that it was all scream and blasts. Everyone ran.”
Max placed his hand over Maria’s injured and healed it. “Thanks. Look we should get out of here. I don’t know how many more might still be out there.”
“Where’s Liz?” Max asked anxiously.
“I don’t know.”

Hey everyone. Sorry I couldn't post twice this week, but I did warn this would happen. I just don't want to run out of parts to post. My muse has been neglecting me as of late and I haven't been able to write much. But I am currently writing right now I can assure you that.
I know there is a lot going on, and many of you have questions, and I promise to answer as many as those questions as I can.
Ok now on with the fic
Part 15
“Stop, I can’t…can’t keep running.” Michael panted as he leaned against a tree. They escaped the soldiers but everyone had gotten separated. Michael had seen Isabel and Alex running deeper into the forest, while Kyle, Serena and Lonnie had taken off towards the village. He’d lost track of David and the rest.
“Fine, let’s stop. I don’t think they’re still following us,” Liz said in between gulps of air.
“We need to find Max.” Michael said.
“We need to find everyone. Why did they all run like that?” Liz said, frustrated.
“They didn’t want to die, that’s why. We were unarmed Liz, what did you expect?”
They both sat on the forest floor and struggled for breath.
“My sides are killing me.” Michael complained. He was never one for running. On Earth he was the guy always sitting on the bleachers. Though, he was not a slacker either.
“I feel like my lungs are going to explode.” Liz looked around at their surroundings. “We need to find a better place. We’re too open here.”
They quickly moved to a more sheltered area and set up a makeshift camp site. Michael wanted to build a fire, but Liz said it would give away their location.
“But it’s freezing.” He complained.
“Just huddle with me. We’ll use body heat.”
“Oh yeah, I’ve heard of that. So do we get naked or something?” He asked with a grin.
“I’m not that cold,” she said and shot him a glare.
~*~
“Tess stop!” Eliza yelled as she tripped. When Tess started running Eliza ran after her to stop her, but she underestimated Tess’ speed. Chiron had ran after Eliza. He stopped and helped Eliza up.
“Oh god!” Tess gasped as she finally stopped running. She’d panicked when one of the blast flew past her head and took off. “Oh god I’m sorry. Eliza, I’m sorry, I was scared.” Tess cried as she rushed to Eliza’s side.
“We were all scared Tess, but now we’re lost.”
“Maybe we could try to walk back.” Chiron suggested. The collar around his neck made is difficult for him to breathe and the leather was sticking to him from the sweat. He immediately removed the leather vest. “God I’m burning up.”
“Here take these.” Eliza proceeded to remove her linen pants and hand them to him. “What?”
“I can’t wear your pants,” He said and looked over at Tess who looked away shyly.
“Why not? They probably fit you. You got a tiny waist.” She said nonchalantly.
Chiron sighed and pulled off the red leather pants, which proved more difficult than the vest. After a brief struggle he pulled on Eliza’s pants and was surprised that they actually fit. “See?” Eliza said pointedly. He shrugged and handed her his pants, but she refused them. “My shirt reaches my knees, just give me your belt.” She said. When he gave her the belt she tightened it around her waist and smiled. “Looks cute.”
~*~
Isabel and Alex eventually met up with Kyle and Serena in the woods. Well actually Alex and Kyle slammed into each other.
“Serena!” Isabel shouted as she saw her crewmate.
“Isabel!” Serena ran and hugged her.
“Hey man, god it’s great to see you,” Kyle said as he held on to Alex.
“Same here.” Alex smiled and patted the other man on the shoulder.
“Kyle, where’s Lonnie?” Serena asked.
~*~
“Fuck!” Lonnie cursed. She’d lost Kyle and Serena when a blast hit her in her right leg. She tried to call out but they couldn’t hear her. Now she limped her way through the woods. At the first sight of an opening she sighed with relief.
“Oh god!” Lonnie screamed as something crashed into her. A tangle of limbs later she threw the body on her off.
“Lonnie?” Ava looked up from where Lonnie threw her, tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Ava!” Lonnie rushed her friend and hugged her. “Oh girl, man there was a wicked battle back there.”
“Oh no, where is everyone? Don’t tell me they’re all…” Ava couldn’t even get herself to finish her thought.
“I have no clue. Everyone split.”
“Oh god Lonnie. They have Zan.” Ava cried out.
“What? Who?” Lonnie held the smaller woman.
“I don’t know. We were at a pub, trying to find out what was going on when some guy said Zan was under arrest. Zan told me to leave and warn everyone. Oh Lons, I have to get him back.” Ava broke down.
“OK, look we need to find Max and Rath. We need them.”
~*~
“We were here,” Maria said as they stepped back into the opening where they were attacked. There were two bodies of soldiers laying there and remnants of a battle. The only good sign was that there were no familiar bodies.
“Why did ya take off again, red?” Rath asked as he stepped over one of the bodies.
“I didn’t. I charged at them, broke them up. When I came back, the rest were gone. I guess they ran into the woods.”
Max bent and picked up one of the rocks and immediately sensed Liz. Yes she had ran back into the woods with Michael after they became outnumbered.
“So do you guys know why this happened?” Maria asked.
“We’re being tracked down. There’s this special guard called the Blue Guard and they know about us.” Max replied, he picked up another rock and sensed Alex. They all went in different directions which was going to make it harder to track them all down.
“So what do they want with us?”
“I don’t know. There’ a curfew out right now, keeping everyone indoors. It’ll make it easier for the guard to see who doesn’t belong.” Max sighed and dropped the rock in his hand. “Most of them went further into the woods. Alex and Isabel went toward the village.”
“So what do we do?” Rath asked as he stood beside Max.
“We find Liz.”
~*~
David was up on a tree. How he got there he wasn’t sure, but looking down from the great height he knew he had to get down. The last thing he remembered was taking the first long drink of fresh blood in years. Yes he’d feasted on a small animal when they were all together, but it does not compare to holding a live struggling male under his teeth.
Running his tongue across his lips he shivered at the last bit of residue he licked off. He looked off into the distance and could see the paths his companions had taken, and pondered on which one to take himself.
First things first, getting down from the massive tree.
He could jump, but even with his strength he wasn’t sure he’d land properly. He didn’t want to risk walking around with a broken neck. So his only other choice was to climb down.
He carefully gripped the strong bark until he felt his finger tips cracking open. His bare skin scraped against the wood, and he groaned as he continued his long way down. A quarter of the way down his grip slipped, thanks to the blood collecting in his hands, but he used his legs to secure a hold.
Finally about twenty minutes later he felt safe enough to be able to jump off. He rolled when he landed but he was not further injured. Decided on a path, he walked into the forest.
~*~
“Agh you really are annoying.” Liz complained. She and Michael were huddled together against the cold. They’d managed to gather some moss and other plant material and place it all on top of them.
“If you’d just let me hold you, then we’d be warmer. Jeez, I’m not trying to seduce you or anything, I’m just cold.” Michael said trying desperately to get warmer.
“Fine. Just don’t try anything.” She turned around and wrapped her arms around his waist, burying her face in his chest. She hated to admit it, but she was getting warmer.
“Told you.” Michael gloated. “Catch a few z’s. I’ll stay up and keep watch.”
Liz yawned and nodded. She needed the sleep. She felt puffs of warm air hitting her neck and smiled. “Remember this when it’s my turn to sleep.” Michael whispered.
Her dreams were of her father. She was nine years old off with her father on one of his trips. She could feel his big hands holding hers as they walked around his ship. The other men of the crew adopted her as their mascot calling her Lil’ Bit. One man in particular she could remember vividly.
His name was Marlok, and he was her father’s second-in-command. He was a giant hulk of a man, who could place her on top of his shoulders with just one hand. He had long waves of blue hair that reminder her of a waterfall, which is what she called him in her younger years. His eyes were the same color blue as his hair, a bright azure. He had a massive mouth which could frighten anyone who didn’t know him.
He was the one who named her the ship’s mascot.
“Lil Bit, you’re here so often you should be our mascot.” he’d said with a giant grin. He’d launched her onto his shoulders and announced to everyone that she was now their mascot. The men had all cheered and clapped for her. That was the happiest day of her life.
She remembered running to her father and telling him and the smile that spread on his face as he listened.
“That’s great Lizzie.”
“And when I grow up I want to be part of your crew,” she announced and ran into his embrace.
She began to wake as Michael continued to shake her. She was angry at first but when she looked into his red eyes she sighed and let him go to sleep. He laid his head on her shoulder and she puffed her warm breath on his neck as he’d done to her. He mumbled a ‘thanks’ against her neck when made her giggle. She felt the instant he fell asleep.
It was still very dark but now she wasn’t as cold now. She thought about her dream, about Marlok and that one day where she wasn’t as happy to see him as she would have been. She had been fourteen at the time, her mother had asked her to fix the car. She was under the car when she saw the five pair of feet coming up her driveway. She slid out and immediately recognized Marlok, but he was not smiling like he usually did.
She had scanned the rest of the faces for her dad but he was not there.
“Where’s dad?” She asked them, already fearing their answer. Their silence spoke volumes.
“Lil Bit, I’m sorry.” Marlok said, as another of her father’s men stepped up with a large box containing her father’s things. “He wanted you to have these.” All of the men wore identical faces of guilt and sorrow. They wouldn’t tell her much about Jeffery’s death.
After they’d left she’d looked at the contents of the box in her room. It contained a few of his clothes, a picture of the two of them, a few small knick knacks, and in the very bottom; an envelope.
“Dear Lizzie,
If you are reading this you already know I am dead. No, I did not know I was going to die, I just wanted to leave you and your mother with something in case I did die. I’m sorry baby girl, I really wanted to be there for you. In this letter I am leaving the address to a safe deposit box, in it you will find everything you need.
I love you, and again I’m sorry
Your Daddy,
Jeffrey Parker.”
She'd gone the next day to the address he’d given her and opened the deposit box which contained, a pendant he’d gotten for her mother, several thousand dollars in cash, and a letter of ownership to a ship. Her ship.
It took a few years before she got the beat up ship operational, but once it was she was out of there.
Something behind her stirred. A noise, only audible because she was laying still, made her stiffen. Something or someone was near.
Before she could try to wake up Michael searing pain spread from the back of her head and everything stopped.

Hey all I appreciate all the feedback, and I'm glad to see new people coming to read. Glad you like.
When we last left off the crew had been scattered, Zan was in trouble, and so were Liz and Michael......
On with the show
Part 16
“Oh sweet father Zeus!” Tess fell back against a rock as David came out at her.
“Sorry.” He said as helped her up. “I saw the way you guys came, figured I’d catch up.”
“Well I’m glad you did.” She said and genuinely smiled at him.
David looked at Eliza and Chiron both sitting against a tree, Eliza sitting between his legs. They looked exhausted. “Look I saw where the rest went. Let’s rest for now, and then we’ll find the others.”
Eliza sighed and sunk more into Chiron’s arms. The steady beating of his heart was helping to calm her but her nerves were still on end. She’d never really been in any real battle. The closest she’d been to fighting was a time another woman on her planet found out her husband had been visiting her.
This had all happened so quickly. One minute she was on board the ship, the next she was crawling from the wreckage hoping everyone was still alive, and then they’re lost in the woods of Antar being attacked by soldiers.
Chiron could feel her tension and held her tighter and kissed the top of her head. He on the other hand had been in battles. He’d been a prince in his world but thanks to a hostile takeover he’d lost his title and was named a criminal. If it wasn’t for Eliza he would surely be dead by now.
“It’ll be ok. I won’t let anything happen to you.” He whispered but she was already asleep.
~*~
It was cold and dark. There was water dripping off in the distance somewhere but it echoed off the stone walls. He could hear the groaning of the other men around him but he did not see any of them when they were bringing him in.
His head felt numb, the drug they’d given him was to keep him from attacking anyone, they’d also placed lead gloves on his hands. There was no bed or any kind of furniture on the cell, and the stench of other people’s waste threatened to make him vomit.
A man from another cell screamed in terror and Zan could only guess of what. This was hell for any Antarian criminal.
He sat at the farther wall away from the sickening stench and closed his eyes. He could see Ava with Lonnie hiding behind the small buildings of the village hoping they’d find someone, anyone who might help. He tried to send her a message, but he was too weak.
He settled back against the wall and decided to at least sleep off the affects of the drugs.
~*~
The sun was beginning to lighten the forest floor when Serena opened her eyes. She looked across from her and saw Isabel doing the same. Both smiled at each other and looked to where the men were. Alex and Kyle walked back toward them carrying a variety of fruit and berries.
“Who’s up for some breakfast?” Alex said as he offered the girl’s the food.
“Thanks,” Isabel offered him a bright smile and took a handful of the ripe red berries. She popped one into her mouth and moaned. “These are the sweetest things I’ve ever tasted”
“Let me try some,” Serena took some of the berries. After placing some in her mouth her eyes rolled back and fell back onto the grass, “Mmm they are delicious,” she moaned. The girls continued to feed each other the sweet berries, leaving Kyle and Alex with the fruit.
“If they don’t stop moaning I’m going to blow,” Kyle complained as he took a bite of the green fruit in his hand.
“I know what you mean. Look at them, I can’t take this much longer.” Alex pointed at them as Isabel fed Serena another berry. Some red juice spilled and Serena had to lick her lips, making Kyle groan.
“Ok that’s enough,” Kyle said loudly making the girl jump and stop to look at him. “Uh, I mean…Uh we should get going.”
~*~
“Mike’s been here,” Rath said when they entered another small opening. Max had been tracking Liz feeling for any energy signaling her presence which led them to where they were now.
“Liz was here too.” Maria said as she picked up a piece of fabric. “From Liz’s shirt.”
“Yes they were both here, there was a struggle,” Max closed his eyes and allowed the residual energy to flow into him. “They took them.”
“Who? Took them where?” Maria asked. She palmed the fabric in her fist knowing something bad had happened.
“It’s gotta be the Blue Guard, man.” Rath said from his spot next to a tree. His arms were crossed and he stared off into the direction where his crewmate’s energy faded.
Max shut his eyes and tried to form a connection with Liz but found that he couldn’t. He tried not to dwell on the why. He could hear Maria and Rath talking but wasn’t paying attention. His crew were out there lost possibly injured. And then there was Liz. He couldn’t explain it but he was drawn to the human captain. Ever since he laid eyes on her on the ship he knew there was something about her that was above the heat he was under. And then when he healed her and saw into her, he felt it even more.
Somehow, someway he’d have to find her.
~*~
When Liz finally came to she regretted it. Her head felt like a smashed watermelon. She sat up slowly and looked around trying to figure out where she was.
“We’re in some cell,” she turned to see Michael sit with his back against the wall. “Some watch you are,” he said with a sarcastic laugh.
“Sorry, they just…” she began but he shook his head.
“I was kidding. Not your fault.”
Michael crawled over to where she was sitting and grabbed her hand. She looked down at their entwined fingers and smiled up at him. In the small amount of time they’d known each other she grew to like him. At first he was this stiff, serious looking man but now she realizes he’s more than his gruff exterior appears.
“It’ll be ok, I promise.” He whispered close to her ear. “Max and the others will come.”
“I know.” She sighed and gave his hand a squeeze. “It’s weird, I can feel him. It’s like the chills you get when a breeze comes along. I know he’s there somewhere,” she pointed to her head. “And in here,” she paused to place her free hand on her chest. “When he brought me back from the dead, it’s like he reached deep inside of me and pulled me out. I literally felt his hand grabbing hold of my soul. I feel him now, he’s worried. He knows something is very wrong.” She stopped and placed her head on Michael’s shoulder.
“That’s Max for you. Fearless Leader. He cares more about others than he does about himself. When he came to Earth I saw the ship land. I was nothing, I mean, well I was an officer but I had nothing in my life that I was proud of. Max was this like grand person, he had this way of carrying himself that just had you drawn to him. He came right up to me and hugged me. I mean like that kind of hug you give someone you loved who you thought was dead.” Michael paused and smiled. “He was the first ever alien I’d ever met, and just like that he asks me to join him. I didn’t know what to say, but I went with him. I just followed him, leaving all my stuff behind. I’ve been through some major shit with that man, but I don’t regret any of it.”
They both huddled closer against the stone chill in the cell.
“Yeah, yeah Max is the man. But can you two love birds shut up?” They heard the voice coming from the cell next to them.
“Zan? Man is that you?” Michael asked as he made his way to the front of the cell.
“Yeah it’s me. How’d you guys get here?” Zan asked, reaching his hand out to the adjacent cell. He felt Michael’s grasp it.
“We were resting in the woods and were ambushed.”
“Sucks.”
“Can’t you like blast us out or something?”
“Can’t, drugged me. I’m impotent.” Zan smirked.
“We have to think of something.” Liz said quietly. She knew there must be guards around. “You can’t connect to Ava?”
“I wish. I don’t know what happened to her after they took me. I can’t reach her.” Zan sighed dejectedly. He’d been trying to achieve a connection with Ava but every time he did all he got was a faint shimmer.
They sat there in their cells, Zan holding Michael’s hand and Michael holding Liz’s.

Hey all I'm back, and yes I've been busy working on new parts but still not comfortable enough to post more than one part a week. But nontheless, here's a brand new spanking part!
Part 17
Lonnie and Ava stopped behind one of the small dwellings. The sun was high overhead and there was little shade in which they could hide in.
“Max was here, I can feel it.” Ava whispered. Lonnie nodded, having also sensed Rath’s residual energy.
It was too risky to come out of their hiding place. There were people up and doing their morning business. Lonnie could see some of the small children running around and laughing, their mother’s keeping a close vigilant watch. The men were nearby as well, gathering their supplies from the rations shed for their daily allowance. Now this was new, she thought to herself. Antar had not been on a ration’s system in years.
“Something’s not right,” Lonnie said. Ava nodded, she could read the anxiety in the mother’s eyes and the hurried working of the men. The only one that seemed at ease were the children, but even they would look up at the sky tracking the sun’s progression. “It’s like they’re afraid of something.”
“Do you even know what part of Antar we’re on?” Ava asked. The woods all over Antar look the same. The only major difference are of course the dialects, and only central Antar had a form of desert. Lonnie signaled to her to stay quiet while she tried to listen to the people.
“I think we in Lower Antar, the upper region.” Lonnie replied. “Which means we gotta be extra careful.”
Ava nodded. Though she’d never really strayed outside of Upper Antar’s borders she’d heard the stories that came from the south. Now things were very barbaric, for the most part the people were the same as those where she was from, except that most of the criminals and corrupt fled the strict laws of Upper Antar and now lived in Lower Antar. “You’s better not talk for now Ava, they’ll know you’re not from around here.”
Ava nodded once more and clung closer to the shadowed ground.

Max stared off as Rath and Maria talked to each other. They’d managed to get a room in one of the town’s inns. Rath went in alone asking for a room, and then snuck Maria and Max in. Now Max sat on one of the room’s chairs, a blank look on his face.
“Look at him,” Maria said in a hushed voice to Rath. “He’s been sitting there for an hour. What’s he doing?”
“I don’t know. I’s never seen him like this. Maybe it’s all finally getting to him.” Rath shrugged and laid back on the bed.
“Maybe. But he’s been fine this whole time. It’s been three days, why start losing it now?” Maria frowned.
“I’m not “losing it,” I’m thinking.” Max replied from his seat. Even though he spoke, he continued to stare off at nothing. “I’m the captain here, I’m trying to think of a way out. For everyone.”
Maria and Rath left him alone after that, opting for a good night’s rest. As there was only one bed in the room Maria and Rath shared the bed, she sleeping long ways and Rath sleeping at the foot of the bed. Max stayed in the chair.
His mind was wracked with strange images. He could make out stone walls, bars, shadows of figures but he could not see who they were. But he had a pretty good idea. One figure was slight, feminine, knees drawn up to her chest. The other was larger, sitting beside the female, one leg bent while the other stretched out in front of him. They were Liz and Michael. He could sense another figure there as well, from the energy impression he believed it to be Zan, with no sign of Ava.
Max tried to figure out a location but found that he could not.

Liz didn’t know how long they’d been there. She had not seen anyone else but Michael, and Zan’s hand every once in a while from the other cell. They were in constant darkness making it impossible to know if it were day or night. She only knew they weren’t alone from the horrible sounds that came from other prisoners, but she’d yet to see anyone else.
She looked toward the direction where she could hear Michael’s steady breathing. He’d been asleep a while now.
“Hey, shorty you still there?” She heard Zan ask from his cell. She crawled towards the bars and reached her out her hand. When their hands clasped she felt slightly better. “I hear my man Mike over there snoring. How you holding up?”
“I’m ok considering. Why haven’t we seen anyone? I mean we get food and water, but I haven’t seen anyone bring them.”
“They knock us out” He replied. “Think they use something to knock us out cause they still come around to drug me. Feel,” he stretched out his arm even more and Liz felt the track marks.
“Oh Zan,” Liz felt the lump in her throat. In the time they’d been stuck in this prison she’d gotten closer to both Zan and Michael.
“Hey, it’s cool.”
They both heard Michael stir and finally make his way over to them. Liz smiled as she felt him wrap his arms around her, though it was not in a sexual way.
“What you two yapping about?” He whispered.
“Bout your snoring, duke. It’s the worst kind of torture.” Zan said with a chuckle.
“Touching.” The trio froze as they heard a foreign voice. “Usually the prisoners here break within two days. Maybe I made the mistake of placing you together.” Said the stranger.
“Who are you?” Liz said as she released Zan’s hand and stood up. Michael stood too and was right behind her.
“That is none of your concern miss.” As he spoke Liz started to feel the ground move beneath her feet. She felt Michael soon drop behind her, trying desperately to reach for her. She heard Zan in the next cell cursing until he too hit the ground, finally in silence. Her legs were getting weak and she grabbed onto the bars to keep her upright, but she knew it would be no use. “That’s is miss pirate. Just relax. It’ll all be over soon.”

Lonnie and Ava had fallen asleep in each other’s arms again. They’d been watching the village they were in hoping to learn anything about the state of things, but the people were very careful. So the two stayed hidden, that is until…
“Shh, they might wake up.” Whispered one of the younger men. There were three of them, the oldest had not even begun to grow a beard. They were fresh yet, not that much out of childhood.
The one with the red hair, Gavin, kneeled before the two women checking to see if they were in fact alive. When he leaned closer he got a fist to the nose for his troubles. He fell onto his back at the feet of his other two friends. Lonnie immediately shot up eyeing the boys and Ava merely sat.
“Like what you see?” Lonnie asked menacingly.
“Were weren’t gonna do nothing,” said the boy with the now broken nose. His friends helped him to his feet.
“They’re just boys Lons, chill.” Ava said as she took in the others.
“I’m not a boy!” Said the oldest, but his voice cracked at the end and he looked away ashamed.
“I don’t care what they is, they got too close.” Lonnie impatiently pulled Ava to her feet. “What do you boys want?”
The boys looked at each other and shrugged.
“We just saw you guys laying out here, we were wondering why.” the youngest one with ash blonde hair kept staring at Lonnie, not in fear but mild curiosity. “We’ve seen you out here at night even though the curfew is still up. Aren’t you guys afraid?”
“Does it look like we’s afraid?” Lonnie bawled her fists again.
“You’ve seen us out here?” Ava asked, “Have you told anyone else?”
“No, we didn’t know who to tell. Plus we don’t have many chicks here.” Said Gavin. He tried to muster a flirtatious grin but it was not what he hoped it would be as his nose continued to bleed.
“They’re going to ask how you got that.” Ava pointed to his nose.
“I’ll tell them these two did it.” he laughed as he pointed to the red head and the younger one. “We won’t tell anyone about you. Promise.” He said and put his hand over his chest.
“Good, cause if you did…” Lonnie allowed her sentence to trail off threateningly.

You guys are the best feedbackers!
Everytime I sit down to write all i hear is you guys in the back of my head hurrying me up lol.
I know you all are wondering what has happened to Liz, Michael and Zan and all I can say right now is, just wait. lol
Sorry this part is a bit minimal, but I'm still working on more.
Oh and thanks for asking, neck. The job hunt is awful. I was looking into TA positions at local elementary schools but they need people everyday in the mornings and unfortunately I will be starting up school soon and even though it'll only be two days out of the week, they won't let me work the three days i have off.
Part 18
Maria couldn’t keep still. When off the ship she was usually the one who went off the farthest and longest out of the whole crew. Now she had been stuck in that inn for weeks not being able to go very far and if she really had to go somewhere either Max or Rath had to go with her. She hated it!
She tried to shape shift in order to escape them for a while but Max always seemed to know where and what she was. Rath was a little easier to fool, but if he did get on her trail she knew she would have to go back soon.
Right now she sat in the small inn pub nursing a poor beer. They’d had no sighting of anyone else of their crews. No news at all about anything.
Rath sat at the bar drinking something that looked like bile from where she sat but he seemed to be enjoying it.
“You want some?” He asked as he stood and walked toward her table. She shook her head and look back down at her beer. “It ain’t half bad.” he offered again but shrugged when she ignored him. He sat down beside her and finished off his drink.
Max walked back into the pub with the same blank expression he’d been wearing since the crash. He saw Maria and Rath and made his way to them.
“Anything?” Maria asked but held no real expectations. When Max shook his head she called the bar keeper and ordered another pitcher of the beer. “It’s been weeks. I’m crawling out of my own skin here. How can there be no news of them? You’d think someone would have seen something, heard anything. I mean how can two ships crashing not cause some kind of hoo haa?”
Max shrugged and drank a mug of the beer in one gulp when it arrived. He’d been having strange dreams as of late but could never really remember what they were about when he woke up. All he could remember was an overwhelming sense of confusion and fear.
“Another bad dream, chief?” Rath asked.
“Yes. I wish I could remember what they were.”
“I can help.” Maria said. “I’ve helped people remember their dreams and even helped interpret them.”
“Why haven’t you told me this before?” Max asked, now a little upset. If he’d known that he would have come to her sooner.
“You never asked and you never really told me about the dreams.” Maria reminded him. “Tonight, I’ll sleep with you.” she said seriously.
Rath and Max both exchanged looks.
“Uh…I’ve been having bad dreams too,” Rath said as he downed his drink.
“First off…hell no. Second, I meant just sleep. I have to be near you when you have this dream.” Maria clarified.
“Oh, I understand. Tonight then.” Max said. He gulped down his second beer and was about to reach for his third when Maria stopped him.
“It’ll help me if you’re not drunk. You know, keeps things clearer.”
~
Max decided to sleep in his clothes tonight instead of stripping to his underwear since he would be sharing a bed with Maria. Rath offered to take the floor as was soon sound asleep.
“So how do I need to be?” Max asked as he pulled the sheets back.
“Just lay down like you usually would be.” She shrugged and climbed onto the bed also in her clothes.
When Max laid down on his back he closed his eyes. He did not really want to think about being in bed with a woman, even if it wasn’t for any sexual purpose. He felt the bed dip slightly and then a hand grasping his own. Maria felt his tension.
“I need to be touching you. Like forming a connection.” She explained which helped him relax a little. “Not like I’m going to jump you in your sleep.” She teased and he cracked a grin at that.
~*~
Zan groaned as he began to gain consciousness once more. He could tell he was in the same cell because of the markings he had made on the walls, but he knew that Michael and Liz had been moved. So this had been there trick, he thought. Make them acquire a false sense of security and then rip it away. That was worse then never feeling safe. Now not only did he have to worry about himself, but he also couldn’t help wondering what was happening to Michael and Liz.
~
The first thing he did when he came to was look for Liz. When he didn’t find any signs of her he crawled to the far corner of the cell. They’d been moved. This was not the cell he was in before. He was alone now with no Liz and no Zan.
He had to think. There had to be some way out of this prison and he’d find it.
~
“She’s a dead one.” said one of the shadowed figures. Liz lay still on her side as the others talked about her.
“How does this affect her?” asked another. They’d been talking about her for the past couple of minutes but she continued to let them think she was still asleep.
“I cannot say. She is not Antarian, the effects might be different for one of her kind. But she was indeed dead.”
After that all she heard were their footsteps as they walked away. She slowly sat up after a while and walked toward the bars. Gone were Michael and Zan, and gone were the sounds of the other prisoners. She’d been moved to a totally different area of the prison, alone.
As she laid on the cot that this room had she closed her eyes again. She recalled the words her father always had ready whenever she felt bad. He’s say something like; Things are only as bad as you make them, Where there’s a will there’s a way, and her favorite: It’s ok, I won’t let anything happen to you.
She wished right now that she was as strong as her father thought she was. Her father would have thought of something by now to get out of here. But here she was weeks later still in the prison and now in a worse position than she had been.
Times like these, since coming to the prison, when there was nothing else, she thought of Max. She still had dreams of being trapped in darkness, not being able to move or breathe. It felt like being stuck in tar. And just when she thought that was it Max brought her back. She could feel Max’s hand pressing strongly on her chest staring intently into her eyes. She could feel the pull to become part of him, to just jump into his body and commune with his soul. She had felt his soul and it made her cry. To see his essence, so bright, so encompassing.
It had her ache now to think about him.

Hey all it's Friday!!! Yay happy day! LOL
Man school starts back up next week and I'm kinda looking forward to it. Anyways, back to our group of misfit pirates...
Part 19
He would be tossing and turning now if Maria wasn’t currently sharing the bed with him. He slipped into the dreams the same way; close eyes, breathe steady, and then his body braced for an attack. He could feel the panic, anxiety, sorrow, anger. Beyond that another feeling he either couldn’t reach or was afraid of.
When he sat up gasping Maria was up too, rubbing circles on his back to calm him down. Rath woke up in the seat across from the bed.
“Do you remember anything?” Maria asked.
“No,” Max shook his head and punch the bed below him.
“It’s ok, I do.” she said and moved to allow him his space.
Once he got himself calm he turned to face Maria. She was smoothing down her hair and concentrating on the dream. “Ok, first let me just say I’m not surprised.” She said and half grinned. “But overall I don’t think this is just a dream.”
“What do you mean?” Max asked. The impression of the dream still clung to him.
“What I mean is that you’re dreaming about Liz.” she said. Max shook his head in confusion. He never thought about it being a dream about someone. All he felt were emotions. “I mean I don’t get a clear image of her, but I’d know Liz even if I couldn’t see her. It feels like there’s stuff coming from her and it’s adding to your concerns too. At least one good thing, she’s still alive.”
“Anything else?”
“Well she’s in trouble, that much is obvious.” Maria stood up and walked toward the pitcher of water in their room. “She’s somewhere and she’s lost and confused and she’s calling out for help even though she doesn’t know she’s doing it.”
Max nodded and accepting everything she was saying. He had felt all of that. It all made more sense now that Maria explained it. Now he could feel Liz. Just like he’d felt her when he healed her. If he closed his eyes now he could almost reach out and…Yes, it was her.
“Mike with her?” Rath asked from his seat. His eyes looked tired still.
“I couldn’t see that.” Maria admitted. I just know what was received from Maxie here.”
Max stood up and walked toward the balcony window. With his hands on the rail he let his head sag, chin on his chest. This was good news. Liz was alive.

The three boys came to visit Lonnie and Ava every day, bringing food and whatever else they needed. Enriq, Gavin, and Jesu made it their personal mission to keep Lonnie and Ava safe and their secret.
“Thanks.” Ava said as Enriq handed her a bowl of water.
“What are the news today, runts?” Lonnie asked.
The boys sat down in front of them and took out several sheets of paper.
“We’ve been going out and gathering whatever information we can. And we wrote everything down.” Said Jesu, the eldest.
Ava took the notes in obvious admiration. She did not think boys young as these would be clever enough to do what they were.
“And don’t worry, we were careful,” Enriq supplied before Lonnie could say anything.
“Everyone says that the Blue Guard has been leaving and that the curfew will be over soon.” said Gavin.
“So what does that mean?” asked Ava.
“Well it could mean that they found what they were looking for, are looking somewhere else, or they didn’t find anything.” replied Gavin.
Lonnie shrugged but didn’t know what to make of the news. They obviously hadn’t been discovered but she wondered about the rest.
“Maybe we could go out ourselves when everything is settled down.” she said. She took one of the fruits that the boys had brought and took a big bite.

David had been gone for two hours now and Tess was in a panic. Chiron and Eliza watched as she paced the length of the room they were staying in.
“He’s fine. Relax.” Chiron finally said. He’d gotten to know the other man within the time they’d all been together.
“How do you know? He’s never been gone this long.” Tess said.
“He also hasn’t gone that long without eating.” Eliza reminded her. David had purposely not gone out to drink for over a week.
Tess knew all this but continued to pace. She’d grown more attached to David.
While Chiron and Eliza were otherwise occupied in the room they shared, Tess had gone out following David. He’d said he was going to go for a “drink” and she decided to follow him. They were being careful, moving as far from the village where they had crashed as possible. Eventually they moved to a quiet place that so far had heard nothing of a crash or soldiers passing through.
Chiron went in ahead and found an inn they could stay in. At night they all rented a room.
That day she stayed a distance away as he went off alone. She wanted to see what he did.
After half an hour of walking she found him kneeling in the woods, holding a small animal in his hands. When he looked up at her his lips and chin were covered in blood.
She gasped and swallowed a scream when he immediately sprang up and pinned her against a tree.
“What…what are you doing?” She said even though he was holding her by the throat.
“Why are you following me?” He asked in a strange voice, his breath reeking of blood.
She tried to claw his hands away but he squeezed harder.
“Please, stop” she cried, tears streaming down her face. When he saw this he cocked his head to the side and let her go. She dropped at his feet and grabbed at her bruised neck.
“I’m…sorry.” David said, sounding more like himself. He got down and looked at her.
“What happened to you?”
“It’s been a while since I’ve actually had real blood. There’s changes I go through. The blood on the ship helped control me. Now…well now it’s just instincts. Sorry.” He sighed and took her hands in his.
She was still shaking but attempted to smile at him.
“I just wanted to see, what you did.” she admitted. “I’m a curious person, always have been. I’ve never met a vampire. I wanted to see what it was like.”
“It’s not pretty.” he sighed.
Then just like that she launched herself at him, causing him to fall back. Her lips hungrily attacked his and he held on to her for dear life.
“Wow,” he breathed heavily as they broke away. It was then he noticed she had blood smeared on her face.
“What?” She asked when he kept looking at her. He leaned up and ran his tongue over her lips, chin and cheek.
“You had a little…something.” he said.
“There’s still some sun out. He could be hurt.” Tess said. Chiron and Eliza rolled their eyes.
“Look we’re going down to the grill. Come with us.” Eliza suggested.
“I’m not hungry. You guys go on ahead.” They shrugged and left.
She finally sat on the edge of the bed and began to bite her finger nails. After sitting there making herself insane she let herself fall back, laying down on the bed. Closing her eyes she let the silence and the breeze wash over her. She wondered where the rest were and if they were even still alive. No, she mentally pinched herself, they had to be alright.
The door to the room swung open then quickly shut. She opened her eyes in surprise to see David standing at the foot of the bed, sans shirt, a small trickle of blood coming from the corner of his mouth.
“David!” She gasped as his chest heaved in exertion. David let out an animalist growl from the back of his throat. She was almost afraid but when a devilish smile spread on his face she squealed in delight.
He crawled onto the bed slowly, staring at her the entire time like prey.
“I was worried about you,” she said huskily.
“You should be worried about yourself.” David grinned before attacking her lips.
~*~
Her clothes were by now covered in sweat. She couldn’t sleep, hadn’t been able to sleep. Her hands shook and were hurting her. The guards, who by now were making themselves more visible, noticed how pale she had gotten. She wasn’t eating anything they brought her, and hadn’t even drunk anything.
She didn’t know what has happening. She had never felt like this before. It felt like there were tiny, but sharp needles trying to pierce their way through her skin.
“What is happening with her?” Asked one of the men who stood outside her cell.
“Perhaps effects of the change?” replied another. She could barely hear what they were saying.
“This is a chance to see what the healing can do to a human. Have her transferred to another room.”
As the guards were about to open the cell, Liz let out an ear piercing scream. They rushed to her side but when they moved to touch her they were thrown back.
“Oh god!” Liz screamed as her whole body leaped from the small cot, green crackling sparks dancing on her skin.

SOrry I didn't post yesterday. I'm back at school and I kinda was swept up with buying books, discussing classes, and the high price of gas!! lol
Well enough of that, let's get on with the fic!!
Part 20
Zan woke up with a start. He could hear a scream coming from somewhere in the jail. Somehow he knew it was Liz. He stood up and grabbed the bars until his knuckles went white. They were hurting her!
He closed his eyes and tried to reach her but all he found was chaos. Seeing that he was at least getting something from her he tried again, only this time he tried for Ava.
~*~
“Zan.” Ava whispered in her sleep. Lonnie stirred and turned to the small woman. They were now hiding in a small cave provided by the three boys. It was safer than where they were staying on the edge of the woods.
When Ava kept tossing in her sleep until finally Lonnie woke up. She sat up, rubbing her eyes until they began to focus in the dimness of the cave. Lonnie kneeled down beside Ava, watching as she continued to mumble and move as if trying to grab something.
“Ava?” Lonnie tried to shake the other girl awake. Ava continued to mumble in her sleep reaching out for that unknown object Lonnie was unable to identify.
“Zan!” Ava cried and sat up. She grabbed Lonnie and began to sob. “Oh Zan! He’s in trouble.”
“I thought we already knew that, girl.” Lonnie said.
“No, I mean he’s in trouble right now. He’s in some cell. So dark, so cold. Other people are there.” Ava said and closed her eyes for a moment, trying to recall everything. “Liz, and Max’s second, Michael.”
Ava pulled away and reached for the paper and writing materials that the boys had brought for them and immediately started to write down all she could remember. “We need to get out of here, find the others. We need to save them.”

Alex tried to communicate with the man in front of him, but with his lack of knowledge of the Antarian language he was getting no where.
“Let me try,” suggested Kyle. He asked Alex what he wanted to say then proceeded to translate it into Antarian. The man nodded and responded leading them towards the back of his large warehouse.
“So?” Alex whispered as they followed the man.
“He says he has just the thing.” Kyle grinned.
Serena and Isabel walked behind them taking in all the packages. This place was a gold mine. If they had their whole crew, they’d be making a steal, Serena thought to herself sadly. With no word of the others they had just about lost hope in being reunited. Kyle was the only one really capable of doing in good right now with his knowledge of Antarian culture, but even with that they were poorly equipped to do anything.
The man grinned and spread his arms wide as he displayed his grand treasure.
“You’re kidding me right?” Alex asked as he looked at the small ship.
“No, he’s awfully proud of it.” Kyle explained and thanked the man.
The ship rested on stilts, many repairs remaining unfinished. Alex stepped forward and placed his hand on the dirty metal.
“This thing is ancient. How do u expect us to get anywhere in this?” he asked.
“Hey beggars can’t be choosers.” Kyle said and opened the small hatch.
“Oh man, that’s ripe!” Isabel said as the stale air from inside the ship assaulted them.
“Might as well look inside,” Serena suggested and walked in first.

Max was gasping for air when Rath and Maria rushed back into the room.
“What is it?” Maria asked. Both she and Rath were prepared for a fight, but instead just found Max gasping for breath and covered in a sheen of sweat.
“Liz. I felt…something is wrong.” Max said.
“Well what’s wrong with her?” Rath asked as he relaxed and sat in a chair.
“Pain, so much pain and confusion.” Max closed his eyes, trying to gain control of himself. “She’s scared, so scared. It hurts all over. Something wrong is happening. Something…alien.”
“What do you mean? What’s going on?” Maria asked. That was her best friend, practically her sister, who was now in danger according to Max. Liz, the woman who came into her life when she thought all she had was the clothes on her back and a death wish in her heart.
Maria had been living in exile from her home planet. She had been living on her own in a poor excuse for a shelter, just one living space. A loud commotion outside had her looking out her small window. Outside she saw a large, and very angry, group of men were surrounding a woman.
“Back off!” Yelled the petite brunette, holding up her gun.
Maria was tempted to just move away from her window and ignore the situation, but her heart won out and she stepped out of her home.
“You heard her, back off!” Maria said as she approached the men.
“Get back inside woman. Don’t make us hurt you too.” Said one of the men.
“Don’t make me hurt you.” Maria warned.
“You don’t need to put yourself in harm’s way. I can handle this group of Neanderthals.” Said the brunette.
“Girl, they’re the ones that are putting themselves in harm’s way.”
Together they had barely managed to beat off the men and ran towards Liz’s ship. As the brunette ran up the ship’s steps she turned to look down at Maria.
“What are you waiting for?” asked the woman.
“What?” Maria asked in confusion.
“Come on!” She ran down the steps again and pulled Maria in.
Inside the ship Maria was immediately buckled into her seat as Liz took hold of the controls.
“I’m Liz by the way.” Smiled the brunette.
“Maria,” she replied.
“She’s sending me so much information. Pain, she’s in pain.” Max groaned.
“Is someone hurting her?”
“No, it’s something else. It’s internal.” He sighed and pushed himself off the bed. “Bars, there’s bars in front of her. Some kind of jail. She’s being moved. “
“Do you know where she is?” Maria asked.
“I don’t know.”
“I do.” They both turned to stare at Rath. He continued to sit there casually.
“Well?” Max and Maria asked at the same time.
“I’ve heard of the prison around here. Pretty rough. People go in, they don’t come out.”
“Why are you just telling us now?” Max asked, looking down at him in anger.
“I wasn’t sure. But you’s saying she sees bars, I’m thinking that prison is where she be. Guessing that’s where Zan and Mike are too.”
Max took a step back from Rath, too angry to risk being any closer to him. Why hadn’t he mentioned any of this sooner? Liz, Michael and Zan were probably in this jail. There had to be some way to help them. The sudden sound of a slap snapped him out of his thoughts.
Maria stood before Rath who was now holding the side of his face.
“What the fuck are you doing?” Rath asked.
“What the fuck are you doing? Asked Maria, “You just sit there like nothing and you tell us you knew where they were? What’s your problem.” Maria moved to strike him again, but Rath stood up and grabbed her arms.
“I didn’t know where they were!” He yelled. “I just heard about this yesterday. Max never said anything about bars or jail before today. When he said that I put two and two together.”
Maria continued to struggled in his grasp, wanting to smack him upside the head again. But Max stepped forward again and pulled her back.
“Let me go Max. This punk needs a serious ass kicking!”
“Just calm down Maria. We need to figure out if they are in there and, if they are, a way to get them out”
Maria took a deep breath and nodded. Rath was not important right now. Liz was. She’d kick his lousy ass later.

The pain was white hot. Her skin felt like it was trying to pull free from her, her insides felt like their were cooking. The straps that now held her down on the table were cutting off her circulation but that was the least of her worries. Tears streamed down her face as the pain continued to tear through her. It wasn’t a throb, it wasn’t inconsistent, it was continual pain. The kind of pain that would drive anyone to kill themselves.
Men and women in white, sterile suits came in and out of the room, plugging her in to numerous machines and drawing blood. At first she thought they were taking her to some sort of infirmary, but they were doing nothing to stop her suffering. It was like they were studying her.
Another set of white suits came into the room and injected a blue serum into her right arm. She felt it burning into her veins, and eventually she felt the pain start to dull.
“There, better?” She turned her head to look at the person speaking. A man stood on the left side of the table, arms crossed, looking down at her.
“Who?” She tried to talk but her throat was sore from screaming.
“Elizabeth Parker, age 28 years, height 5 feet four inches, 121 pounds.” He said in a flat, emotionless voice. Her vision began to blur and she couldn’t really make out his appearance other than dark hair, average height, and the regular white scrubs everyone else she saw had on. She wondered in the back of her mind how he knew who she was, but right now she was only thankful that the pain was going away.
“Who did this to you Ms. Parker?” He asked, stepping closer.
“Who?” She whispered, her head rolling on the pillow. The light was becoming too bright so she closed her eyes.
“Who healed you?” He asked again, coming even closer to her.
“Heal?” She frowned, trying to remember.
“Was it Maxel? Is he the one who did this to you?” He asked, his voice now hovering above her.
“Max?” she asked, feeling her consciousness slipping away. Oh sweet oblivion.
“Max? He’s the one who did this? It was him wasn’t it?” He insisted, but she was already gone
