M in Y- Um...well I never did say what Liz was going to college for. I had also tried to make it sound like none of the people she went to the club with were technically her 'friend', not even Amy. Sorry for the mistake.

Part 11
*SIX YEARS LATER*
Liz stood in the domatio ilios near the wall of glass. Her arms were folded in front of her as she stared out at the gardens in the moonlight. Even after all this time, she still loved to come to this room to gather her thoughts. It was here that she seemed to be able to think rationally and calmly.
And tonight, she had reason to need that. When she and Max had awoken for the evening and had spent some time together before he went to attend some meetings, she had once again broached the subject of her conversion. As usual, Max had changed the subject, once again putting it off until the next time she’d bring it up.
As she once more tried to think of why he would have spent the last six years letting her continue to be a human, Isabel entered the room, “Evening Liz, are you all set for the party you’re hosting the night after tomorrow?”
Liz nodded, “As ready as I’ll ever be.”
Isabel frowned at the wistful note she heard in her friend’s voice. Walking to her side, she asked, “What is it?”
Liz sighed, “I tried asking him again, Isabel. He’s still avoiding the subject.” She closed her eyes and whispered, “Why won’t he convert me?”
Isabel’s heart went out to Liz as she heard the pain in her voice. This had come to be a regular subject between them over the past few years. Not that she blamed Liz. After all, every last one of the coven members had expected their Archigos to convert his syndeo the moment it had become clear that they were now osizigos and isyzygos. As far as everyone was concerned, Liz was already their Archiga.
Isabel made a mental note to talk to her adelfos as soon as she got the chance. She didn’t understand why Max would wait all these years to convert Liz. After all he’d gone through to make Liz his, now suddenly he didn’t seem in any rush at all to convert her. In fact, Isabel was certain that Max was completely happy with the way things were going in his life. He had Liz, and he loved her unconditionally.
Everyone saw how Max treated Liz. How could they not? Her brother worshiped the ground Liz walked on. And Isabel saw how he gave Liz everything she asked for. She saw how Max could be extremely loving and gentle, spoiling his wife every chance he got. And she saw how he could also be fiercely protective and possessive, never allowing anyone else to get too close to his beloved, especially if they were male.
“I don’t know Liz. Maybe, maybe he was waiting for you to get a little older before he converted you.”
“How much older can I get Isabel? I’m going to be twenty eight in a few months! That’ll make me older than him, if he’d ever been human!”
Isabel nodded. If things were exactly like they’d been explained to Liz, Max was twenty seven in human years. Even though vampires were technically immortal, they could age. Every twenty years or so, they seemed to age a year, physically.
But no one could really say if they were truly immortal or how old one could get since there were no vampires around who had aged into their thousands, much less their hundreds. If there were some still alive, they weren’t talking and no one seemed to know of any who still survived.
That was mainly because of all the wars the covens tended to have. These wars were often the things which kept the elders from living for eternity. It was also the reason why many couples who found their omologia quickly made them their syndeo so as not to live with the grief of losing their loved one.
And that was the reason many of the coven members were getting anxious again. Max had made Liz his syndeo. If she died, he would too and as a human, she was extremely at risk of that. If he converted her, she’d be immune to many of the things humans were not. Once converted, Liz would have his powers, his strength, and his ability to heal from wounds fatal to most humans. So, why was he stalling?
Liz voiced the things Isabel was thinking, “He once told me that when he converted me, I’d be like him. You know, strong and immune to things humans aren’t. But he won’t do it and I’m beginning to think it’s because he doesn’t want me to be as strong as he is.”
Isabel frowned, “I don’t think that’s it Liz.”
“Why not? You know how much Max is used to being the one in control. I think he’s afraid that once he converts me, I’ll be as powerful and strong as him. I won’t be weak and helpless and dependent on him anymore. I think he likes the fact that I have to depend on him for so many things.”
Isabel shook her head, “That doesn’t make any sense Liz. Max is constantly obsessing over your safety. We all are. We all know what will happen to him should something happen to you, it goes both ways.”
Liz rolled her eyes, “Yeah, but if he converted me, he wouldn’t have to obsess over it.”
“Not true. You are his syndeo. Even when he converts you and you officially become our Archiga, everyone will still be obsessed with your safety. We are that way with Max’s.”
“Well, then, why is he stalling?”
Before Isabel had a chance to answer that, Helena came into the room, “Kyria?”
Liz turned to see the maid curtseying, “Yes, Helena?”
“Forgive me for interrupting, Kyria, but the decorator for the party has arrived and there are messages from some of the attendees that need your attention.”
Liz nodded, “Right. Have the decorator meet me outside on the patio and put the messages on the desk in the study, I’ll answer them as soon as I’m done with the decorator.”
“Of course, Kyria.” Helena gave another curtsey before leaving the room.
Liz turned to Isabel and smiled, “Don’t suppose you want to join me in driving the decorator crazy, do you?”
Isabel laughed, “No. That’s your job tonight. I only like to drive the decorators crazy when it’s my party I’m hosting.”
Liz grinned and gave Isabel a hug before the two women parted ways for the night.
Max resisted the urge to groan the moment he laid eyes on his adelfi. Isabel sat on the couch in his office, her arms folded over her chest glaring at him as he entered.
He had just gotten home from his meeting and was hoping for a little quiet time to himself before going to gather his wife for some much needed quality time. At least he was hoping Liz would give that to him without bringing up anything that would ruin the moment.
His jaw tensing, he asked the question his instincts were telling him not to, “What can I do for you, Isabel?”
The moment she opened her mouth, he knew he should have listened to his instincts. Standing up and placing her hands on her hips, Isabel laid into him, “What is wrong with you? Do you have any idea what you are putting her through?”
He sighed, “What are you talking about adelfi?”
“I’m talking about converting Liz. She’s your isyzygos, Max! She has been for the last six years! Isn’t about time she became our Archiga? What are you waiting for?”
Max frowned, “Have you been talking to Liz again?”
Isabel rolled her eyes, “What does it matter? All of us are wondering Max. It’s been six years! Haven’t you noticed that? The rest of us have. She’s already been a part of this coven for years! She’s done a great job of learning all about our world and what it takes to rule a coven. She’s always by your side supporting you and our people love her. They respect her. They see how wonderful she is at dealing with you and with them. We all need her!”
“I know that, Izzy.”
“Then why haven’t you converted her? Don’t you see? She loves you and wants to spend eternity with you. And Max, haven’t you realized that Liz isn’t getting any younger?”
Max shut his eyes at those words, “I know,” he whispered.
“Do you? Do you know that she thinks the reason you won’t convert her is because you don’t want her to be as powerful as you are?” Isabel paused as Max opened his eyes and stared at her. “She thinks you like having her weak and dependent on you for everything.”
“That’s not true. She’s not weak Isabel.”
Isabel frowned, “Admit it Max, you like having complete control of her.”
Max shook his head, “I don’t have control of her! I never did. You know that! Liz has always been the strong one! She’s the one who’s kept me sane! I depend on her, not the other way around!”
Isabel sighed, “Well, that’s not what she thinks, adelfos.”
Max looked away for a moment before nodding, “I get it, Izzy. I’ll talk to her.”
“Max, she doesn’t need you to talk to her. You need to convert her.” Isabel frowned at the fear she saw in her brother’s eyes. “What is it Max?”
He swallowed, “What if I lose her?”
“You won’t lose her if you convert her.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I know that the longer you keep her human, the more chance you have of losing her. And we will all lose you too. She’d be safer once you convert her.”
Max sighed, “I’m not talking physically Isabel. I meant mentally.”
“What?”
He looked up at his sister and said, “About two weeks before I made Liz my syndeo, we were at a party. I meet a man there who had converted his own syndeo. She had been human once too and he told me how she had completely changed after he’d converted her. He said that he’d known her as a human for about a year and in that time he had fallen in love with her and she had loved him. But after her conversion, she became cold towards him. He said she was nothing like she had once been.”
“What has that got to do with Liz?”
Max looked at Isabel with fear in his eyes, “What if I convert her and she no longer loves me?”
Isabel frowned, “She’s your syndeo, Max. Neither one of you have a choice, you’re both destined to love each other forever.”
“No, being syndeo means she’s connected to me forever, it has nothing to do with how she feels about me.”
“Max, it’s common knowledge that a syndeo never willingly leaves their mate, it’s impossible. You know that.”
“Physically and mentally yes, but that doesn’t prevent the heart from wanting something else. If she left, we’d both be destroyed, but what if that’s not enough to keep her with me?”
“She loves you. She wants this, why would you think she’d leave?”
“Bedros said Dessa wanted it too. She still changed anyway.”
“Do you know if she left him? Obviously not then, since he was alive to tell you this. Maybe they were just having a falling out.”
Max shook his head, “He said she’d been that way for the last seventy years, how could they just have a falling out that lasted that long?”
“I don’t know Max, maybe he did something to upset her.”
“It was a gradual change, Izzy. Even Alex said Dessa wasn’t the same woman he’d known when she had first been converted. And from the way Bedros was talking, Dessa seemed to barely be tolerating his presence. He said she was the way she was and there wasn’t anything he could do to change it.”
Isabel sighed, “And this is why you have put this off for so long? Because you’re afraid she won’t love you anymore?”
The look on her brother’s face was her answer.
“Talk to her Max. Tell her your fears. Maybe if you let her know what you’re afraid of, it could prevent anything like that from happening. I don’t think she would change Max. I think she will still love you even then. She’s your syndeo Max. You allowed her to make the choice, allow her to make this one too.”
Max nodded, he knew she was right. He couldn’t avoid this forever. Because he knew Liz didn’t have forever.
Liz made her way back to her favorite room in the house. She had spent the past few hours dealing with the decorator, discussing the plans of how the patio and pool area would look for the party she and Max would be hosting in two nights.
The decorator had wanted it to be extravagant, to the point of it being gaudy with bright colors and lots of lights. Liz wanted subtlety. Something with soft lights, since most of the attendees would be vampires with sensitive eyes.
So, she and the decorator had politely argued back and forth until Liz had finally convinced the decorator to do things her way. After all, it was her party and her money to do with as she liked. Even the decorator had to concede that.
Liz had been glad that she’d agreed because her guards had started to get antsy at the way the decorator was arguing with her. The last thing Liz wanted was for them to cause a scene just because the decorator didn’t agree with her tastes. She didn’t want Max to come flying home in a rage that someone dared to upset her. Sometimes he got all protective over the strangest things.
After that, Liz had gone to the study on the second floor to deal with the messages from the various attendees. While that had been more pleasant than dealing with the decorator, it still had taken some time to make all the calls and talk to the people.
Now she just wanted to relax for a few moments before Max came to get her so that they could retire for the night. She made her way into the domatio ilios and sat in the chair she had positioned near the wall of windows. Leaning back in it, she was able to get the full view of the night sky and the back yard. Sometimes she could even believe she was outside, surrounded by sky and the world below it. It gave her a sense of flying, of being free.
Slowly Max made his way to the third floor. Once he’d finished his business for the night, he’d stepped out into the foyer and asked the first servant he’d seen if they knew where his wife was. Granted, he could have used his mind to find her, but he rarely liked to do that, knowing how Liz felt about her privacy.
The servant had immediately replied that she was in the domatio ilios, then scurried away at the scowl that had instantly appeared on Max’s face. Max hadn’t meant to frighten the servant, but any mention of that room always made him cranky. It made him even more cranky when he found out that’s where she was.
Liz loved that room. He’d done what he could to convince her to find another room to call her favorite, but she’d insisted on that one. He still couldn’t understand why she chose that room, after all, it afforded no privacy whatsoever. At least to him it didn’t. And the name was also enough to instill fear in any vampire around. Only a foolish vampire would be caught dead in a room aptly called domatio ilios, room of sun.
As he made his way up the stairs, he thought back to the conversation he’d had with his sister. So, Liz had recruited Isabel into this plan of cornering him to convert her. He couldn’t really blame her for that, he’d been avoiding that topic for years now, but still he didn’t think he was ready to face it yet. He wasn’t even ready to talk to Liz about it.
What was he supposed to say? Sorry, but I want you to remain human because I love you like this. It didn’t even make sense to him, especially when everyone knew she’d just grow old and die while he didn’t. Still, he knew that’s what he was afraid of. Over the last few years, he’d come to realize that he loved Liz as a human.
He believed that what he loved most about her was her ‘humanness’. It was that which made her love him as passionately as she did. As a human she made him smile, she had a great mind, and she was wonderfully compassionate to everyone she met. Max loved the way she met everything head on and was extremely graceful and levelheaded when dealing with any crisis, including him.
He was terrified that she would lose all of that when he converted her. She would change into something cold and calculating like he was. She would no longer be the yin to his yang, and that was something he desperately needed. He needed her to keep him sane and calm. Most of all, he needed her to keep loving him the way she did.
Rounding the corner of the doorway, he looked into the room to see her hair hanging over the back of the chair she was sitting in. A smile graced his face as he took in the way she had let it hang loose. He loved it when she wore it long for him.
He walking in silently, wanting to surprise her. As he walked around the chair, he opened his mind to hers and instantly saw red.
Liz had no warning at all before she was snatched from her chair and yanked to his chest. She let out a squeak of protest as she heard her husband growl, “Max? What has gotten into you? Let go off me.”
“Never! I will never let you go! You are my syndeo! You know what that means! You chose it!”
She looked up at him with a frown, “I know I did. That’s not what I meant. What is wrong with you? Why are you upset?” She indicated the way his eyes had turned to molten gold and his fangs were still growing dangerously long. The way his fingers were digging into her arms told her he was angry about something.
He hissed, “You cannot leave.”
“Max, I’m not leaving. I made my choice, I told you that. You are not making any sense.”
“I saw it Liz! Don’t lie to me!”
“Saw what Max? What are you talking about?”
“Freedom.” He hissed once more, “You were thinking about freedom.”
Liz gave him a puzzled stare, “Freedom?” It suddenly dawned on her what he was talking about and she grinned. “No Max, you saw it wrong.”
He gripped her harder, “It’s not funny, yineka!”
Liz sighed and managed to lift one hand to his cheek, “Max, it isn’t what you think. I’m not leaving you. I’m your syndeo, why would I kill us both?” She shook her head, “No, I wasn’t thinking of freedom. I was thinking about flying.”
Max slowly released her as she allowed him to see the images in her mind. Taking his hand, she led him to the windows.
“See? Sometimes it seems like I’m flying and able to see the sky and the ground below.” She slid an arm around his waist as she continued, “It’s really beautiful up here at night sometimes Max. I wish you could see it the way I do.”
Max stood there looking out of the window as the images continued to move through his mind. He was seeing things the way Liz saw them. It helped him to see why she loved the room so much. Here she was able to be surrounded by nature in safety. Here she could find her peace, just like he found his peace in her.
He closed his eyes and stepped behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist. As he buried his face in her hair, he whispered, “I’m sorry, Liz. I just saw the last part of what you were thinking and I just assumed…”
“I know, it’s okay.” She turned around in his arms, a serious look on her face, “I love you and I promised you forever. Why can’t you give me that?”
Max looked away from her, his jaw flexed.
Liz reached up and brought his eyes back to hers, “Answer me, why can’t you convert me?”
Max closed his eyes as he tried to figure out a way to tell her, sighing he looked down at her waiting patiently for his answer. He stroked her cheek as he replied, “I don’t want to lose you.”
“You won’t lose me Max, I’m already connected to you.”
“I know, but I could still lose your love.”
She frowned, “What?”
He swallowed before he went on to tell her the same thing he’d told Isabel. Liz stood there with a frown on her face as she listened to Max recount the conversation he had with Bedros over six years ago. That was how she found out that Max was terrified that she wouldn’t love him once he’d converted her. He was afraid she’d change completely and become someone no one would recognize.
When he’d finished Liz pulled away from him and walked to the wall. She stood there looking out at the night with her arms folded over her chest. Max remained where he was, silently waiting for her to say something.
After a few moments, she turned around to pin him with a stare. “He did say that there was no guarantee that would happen, right? I mean, all the others he talked to had different outcomes, right?”
Max nodded.
“So why do you think I’ll end up hating you? Isn’t there a chance that nothing will change?”
“Because she loved him before the change Liz. They’d known each other for a year and loved each other then. She knew what he was and agreed to let him convert her. And still, she became different.”
“Max, I’ve been in love with you for six years.”
He nodded, “And you know what I am and want me to convert you. Don’t you see, it’s the same.”
Liz shook her head as she walked up to him, “No, it’s not Max. I’ve been in love with you for six years! Not one! Six! It’s not the same.”
“Liz…”
“No! Listen to me, Max. It’s not the same. He met her and dated her from the beginning. She went into the relationship with open eyes. Don’t you see? She always had the choice. You didn’t give me a choice until later. We don’t know why she is the way she is Max, but what if she had her own reasons?”
“What reason could she possibly have to refuse her syndeo?”
“I don’t know. What if she’s not refusing him Max? What if she’s just using him?”
He frowned, “What?”
Liz shrugged, “She knew what he was. And I remember that woman, the day I met you. She knew what you were too. She wanted what you could give her. She didn’t love you, she loved what you could give her. What if Dessa wanted what he could give her and pretended to love him to get it?”
“She’s his syndeo Liz!”
“You said it yourself Max, it’s our choice. Being a syndeo doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be in love. Isabel loves Alex and they aren’t syndeos.”
Max stood there stunned as the words Liz said sunk in. He’d never thought of it that way. He’d never thought it could be possible for one syndeo not to love their mate. “How could that be? Everyone knows what will happen if a syndeo left their mate.”
Liz nodded, “So, she didn’t leave him did she?”
Max shook his head.
“They’ll both live so long as she remains with him.”
He stared at her, “But how can he allow that? Look what happens to me when I feel like I’m losing you. I depend on you for my sanity, isn’t that the way it is for all syndeos?”
Liz shook her head, “I don’t think so Max. But then again, I have no idea what goes through anyone else’s mind. I just know how I feel and how you feel.”
Max shut his eyes, “I can’t lose you Liz, I can’t take that chance.” He opened his eyes to pin her with a pleading look, “I couldn’t take the pain of living with you and never being able to love you freely.”
Liz nodded, “I know that Max. Believe me, I feel the same way. I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think my feelings for you will remain the same.” She shook her head, “No, I know they’ll get more intense. My love for you will only grow the more time I have with you.”
She walked over to him and slid her arms around his waist, “I love you Max, ya panda.”
Max wrapped his arms around Liz and held her close, burying his face in her hair as she laid her cheek against his chest. They stood that way for a few moments, just cherishing the closeness of each other.
Liz tilted her head back and parted her lips, inviting Max to kiss her. He accepted that invitation and covered her lips with his own. As the kiss deepened, Liz slid her hands up his chest, her fingers finding the buttons of his shirt and undoing them. She slid her hands into the opening and slid it off his shoulders, tugging it out of his pants and tossing it to the floor.
Pulling away from him, she gave him a smile as she took his hand and led him to a pile of cushions she kept near the corner where she sometimes reclined to stare up at the sky. She pushed him down until he was lying on his back among the cushions.
Laying next to him, she leaned over to look into his eyes. As she traced a finger over his jaw and up to his lips, she whispered, “I love you, Max.”
Max closed his eyes as she once more claimed his lips. He moaned softly as she slid over his body and slid her tongue into his mouth.
Liz moved her mouth from his and kissed her way down his neck, pausing to take a long lick over his pulse before sucking on it.
Max hissed in pleasure at the feel of Liz’s mouth on his neck, his body instantly reacted to the anticipation of her bite, but to his disappointment, her mouth moved away.
Liz smiled against his collarbone as she heard the whimper escape. She knew what he wanted, but first she wanted to show him just how much she loved him with her mouth and hands. She continued to kiss and nibble her way over his collarbone and down his chest.
Max gasped as he felt her tongue flick against his nipple before she began sucking on it. He lifted a hand and curled his fingers in her hair to encourage her movements.
Liz kissed her way across his chest before she repeated her motions on his other nipple. Once she was satisfied with her teasing, she nibbled her way down his ribs to his abdomen.
Max moaned as Liz slid her tongue into his navel before she kissed his skin and teased the skin just above his pants. As she did that, her fingers were busy undoing his belt and pants.
She slid off of him and leaned down to devour his mouth again for a few moments, leaving him breathless. She mouthed the words, “I love you” as she turned and slid his pants and underwear down his legs.
Max lifted his hips to help her and watched as she removed the remaining clothes he had on. Then she turned back to look at him, her eyes sparkling with the love she had for him.
His breath caught in his throat as he watched her remove the dress she wore. She did it slowly. Watching his eyes as they followed the movement of her hands. She stood up and removed the dress, letting it pool at her feet and then pushing down her lace panties to join the dress. Stepping out of her clothes, she moved to straddle his waist.
Max allowed his eyes to travel the length of her body, loving the way her skin glowed in the moonlight. She’d only been wearing panties under the dress and nothing else. Sometimes she did things like this just because she knew it turned him on.
He looked back up into her eyes as she rose to her knees over him. She smiled down at him and said, “I love you, Max,” right before she impaled herself on him.
Max gritted his teeth and wrapped his fingers around her hips as he reveled in the feel of her tightness surrounding him. He watched as Liz tilted her head back in pleasure as she began to slowly ride him.
Liz moaned and picked up the pace of their lovemaking. She curled her fingers around Max’s wrists, using that and her knees to add leverage to her movements.
She cried out when Max began thrusting his hips up, meeting her downward movements. Leaning over him, she took his lips in hers once more and used her hands against his chest to help speed up her ride.
Max growled into her mouth as he felt her walls tightening even more around him even while she picked up the pace.
Panting, Liz lifted her mouth from his and once more she whispered breathlessly against his lips, “God, I love you.”
Max shut his eyes as the sound of her voice made him shutter in bliss, a moment before he felt the sharp pain against his neck. That was quickly followed by the intense pleasure that always came when she fed from him. He gripped her hips as she continued to suck his blood, in time to the movements of her hips.
When her voice sounded in his head with the usual words, I love you, it was more than enough to send him over the edge.
Liz heard Max’s shout of her name as she felt his body release itself into hers. She continued to feed from him as she rode him, drawing out his pleasure until she was certain he was finished. Only then did she remove her teeth from his neck and slid her tongue over his wounds to close them.
She felt his body shudder beneath hers and smiled in satisfaction as she nibbled his neck for a few more moments. Slowly she sat up and looked down at him.
His eyes were at half mast and still a dark molten gold. Not only that, but his fangs were out, resting against his bottom lip. She could feel his chest rising and falling rapidly beneath her hands.
Liz took one of his hands in hers and lifted it to her mouth. Her eyes trained on his, she lifted his index finger and sucked it into her mouth.
Max moaned as she swirled her tongue around his finger before sucking on it again. Instantly he was hard and watched the sparkle in her eyes as she felt him inside of her. She slid his finger out of her mouth with a pop and tapped it with her free hand, letting him know what she wanted.
When Max had made his nail lengthen like she’d indicated, Liz lowered it to her breast and slid his nail over the skin, just above her nipple.
Max hissed at the sight of the thin line of blood that appeared on her skin and ran his tongue over his teeth in anticipation.
Liz leaned over him, stretching up to offer her breast to his mouth. As Max closed his mouth over his feast, Liz began to ride him once more.
She gasped as Max’s fangs sank into her skin and when the pleasure began to spread through her body, she lost herself to it.
Max rolled them over until Liz was beneath him, knowing she was losing herself in the pleasure his body was giving hers. As he leaned over her, thrusting his hips into hers in time with the suckling of her breast, he whispered into her mind, I love you too, Liz.
With a scream, Liz came apart in his arms. She opened her eyes wide and stared up at the sky as she felt herself exploding into a million pieces, Max’s name on her lips.
Even as he slowed his movements, swirling his tongue over her wound and her nipple, she continued to mumble his name. He lifted his head to look down into her eyes, feeling her wrap her legs around his.
Liz lifted her hips to meet his, telling him she wanted more. Raising up to his elbows, he obliged her, deepening his thrusts and watching as the pleasure rippled over her features. Liz gripped his shoulders, arching her body up to meet his.
When she threw her head back, shouting, “S‘agapo, Max” he felt her orgasm and followed her over the edge with his own.
“Yes! S‘agapo!” he groaned as he emptied himself inside of her once more.
Liz held him as he began to relax against her body. She opened her eyes as she realized the cushions felt different beneath her.
As she looked around the bedroom, Max shifted over her, rolling onto his side, he drew her into his arms. He reached up to caress her cheek, looking deep into her eyes.
She pouted, “I thought we could spend a little more time in that room before we came to bed.”
He kissed the tip of her nose, “You made your point, agapo mou. I know how you feel.” He sighed and lowered his forehead to hers, “It still doesn’t keep me from being afraid of losing you. That will always be a part of me regardless.”
As Liz opened her mouth to protest, Max placed a finger over her lips, “I just need some time Liz. To get used to the idea of converting you. Just give me some time to deal with my feelings and when I’m ready I’ll do it. You know I will. I can’t live without you, moro. Please, give me time.”
Liz sighed and nodded slowly, “Okay, Max.”
He gave her a grateful smile before settling them underneath the covers.
As Liz wrapped her arms around him, settling in to sleep, she whispered once more, “S’agapo.”
Max fell asleep with a smile on his face and her words echoing in his ears.
