Part 9
November 19th, I’m Liz Parker and lately I have been living the normal teenager’s life, if I can use the term normal anymore. Things have settled down for everyone ever since we came back from Copper Summit three weeks ago.
We all started to hang out more, I guess you could say we were really starting to feel like a family. Everyone was really getting along, I guess without all the alien chaos that we have gone through, one after another.
I think out of all the people that were getting along so well that surprised me was Tess and I. Tess and I were becoming friends. We were hanging out more, going shopping with Isabel and Maria and having the normal human girl-talk conversations. You can say that her human side was starting to surface. I felt bad for her when I met her. She didn’t have anyone except Nasedo but he didn’t have a human side at all. She told me that I was like the sister she never had. I can understand where she is coming from, I was an only child too but I didn’t have anyone until I met Maria and Alex. I don’t know what I would do without them. Tress was grateful that she had someone to turn to. And of course, we talked about her and Kyle. I couldn’t be happier for them. I am happy that Tess found someone and I am glad that it’s Kyle. I have never seen Kyle that happy when he is around Tess. You can say that she has changed him. Of course, she does nag him every once in a while for his newfound interest in Buddhism.
Maria and Michael started to date again and I guess you can say that Michael has changed as well. He is being a great boyfriend to Maria just like she wanted. I guess he is finally taking Max’s advice on being romantic. From what Maria told me, he has a candlelight dinner every Saturday night at this apartment for them and he sends her a new gift each week. If Max didn’t give him advice, I would have been in line to give it to him that’s for sure. I have never seen Michael smile so much either. Maria told me that after Courtney left Roswell he realized that he didn’t want to be that other person in his past life, that all he needed was Maria, that she was the only one for him. Here and now.
For Isabel, she realized the same thing. I think of all of us, she has changed the most. I still remember our first real conversation. When we had that heat wave last December and she told me how scary it is to let someone in. But when we started talking about Alex, I swear I could see her glowing. Alex didn’t know it but Maria and I kind of knew about his secret crush on Isabel. But when Alex found out about Max, Michael and Isabel, she was the first one that he turned to. She knew she could open up to him, she felt something about him and I told her to follow that feeling. She is constantly glowing and I know that Alex has never been happier than he is when he is with her.
As for Max and me, I don’t think it’s possible to be happier than we are right now. You can say that we are one of those cheesy romantic couples that you see on television or in the movies. It’s like we are Romeo and Juliet. We like to spend as much time together as we can. When we went back to school, Max was so sweet. He set up a surprise picnic lunch for us. He is constantly leaving notes and a white rose in my locker everyday. Every Friday, we have a movie night at my house and on Saturdays, he surprises me each time when we go out to dinner. Everyday is a new surprise when I am with Max. And I am loving every minute of it.
I wonder what surprise he will come up with next. Then again, you should always expect the unexpected. But that’s what I love about Max, every day is a new discovery.
The bell rang for the last period of the day. It was Wednesday, so everyone was excited for the long Thanksgiving weekend. Liz came out of her English class and approached her locker. She opened it and found a white rose and a smile came to her face. There was a note attached. It said:
My dearest Liz,
Another white rose, another smile on that angelic face that I cherish so much.
I love you my angel.
Love,
Max
A blush crept her cheeks. He does this everyday. He always knew how to make her smile. Another gift that melted her heart and her soul.
Max saw her standing by her locker reading the note he left her. How much he loved that woman. He walked towards his angel and put his arms around her waist and kissed her on the cheek.
“Hey beautiful.” Max whispered in her ear.
She turned around and wrapped her arms around the neck of the man that warmed her heart each and every moment of every day.
“Hey handsome.” She pulled his face down to hers for a soft kiss.
“You like it?”
“I love it! I love you.” She kissed him again, just couldn’t resist not being this close to him and not touching him.
“I love you too. You ready to go?”
“Yea, I just have to grab my history book.”
She grabbed her books for the holiday weekend and Max, being the perfect gentleman, offered to hold her books for her.
“Here, let me get that.”
“Thanks Max.” She said with a smile.
“Let me carry that for you too.” Max noticed she had a fill load in her book bag. She would only be holding the white rose, the note he gave her and his hand as they walked their way to the jeep.
Liz went back to work at the Crashdown last week since she no longer had the job at the Congresswoman’s office due to certain circumstances. When they got back to Roswell, Max slept by her side every night for two weeks, worried she would have another nightmare about what happened to her in Copper Summit. She only had one nightmare but after that first night, the nightmares went away. Max remained by her side as he always did for as long as she needed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day was Thanksgiving. Everyone had their traditional dinners with their families but this year would be different. For Tess, it would be the start of many more joyous holidays to come, now that the Valenti's have welcomed her into their lives. Michael was invited to spend it with the DeLucas since Maria and he started dating. Her mother felt bad that Michael didn’t have any family and she was so happy for Maria, to see her being loved. This year, Max wanted this holiday to be the first of many holidays that he would spend with Liz. He wanted it to be special, just like her. Everything had to be perfect.
She entered her room exhausted. The holidays were always like this, especially Thanksgiving. It started with getting up at the crack of dawn for the Thanksgiving breakfast at the Crashdown, followed by helping her mom making dinner and cleaning up. There was one thing missing thought. She only wished that one other person could have been here with her today. He called to wish both her and her family a happy Thanksgiving but she wished he could have spent it for her.
Just then, her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on her window. These were moments that she lived for, moments where he would arrive unexpected for the little reasons. She approached the window and opened it.
“Hey” She softly said with a smile on her face.
“Hey. Happy Thanksgiving.” He said also with a smile. He always did love her smile.
“Same to you. What are you doing here?” She said, curious by his surprise visit.
“Come outside.” He said and he laid out his hand, hoping she would take it and come outside for her special surprise.
She took his hand and followed him outside to her balcony and she was surprised by what she saw. Candles lit everywhere, a bouquet of white roses in the middle of a blanket. On that blanket was a picnic, filled with various fruits, mostly strawberries, apple pie, her favorite, and sparkling apple cider. Max approached the stereo and put on some music. Everything started playing in the background.
“Max, this is beautiful, but what is this all about?”
“Sit down.” He led her to the picnic that stood before them.
“Liz, its Thanksgiving, and I wanted to spend it with the one person that I am forever thankful for.”
“Oh Max, I feel the same way.”
“Here, this is for you.” Max held out a black box for Liz, he saw her eyes lit up with excitement of what it was.
She opened it and he heard the shock in her voice.
“Max, it’s beautiful.” Liz found a beautiful silver ring in the box.
“Just like you. Read the inscription”
I am yours and you are mine.
“Max, I love it. Thank you.” Liz said as she went up and hugged him tightly.
“I’m glad. I love you so much Liz.”
Max put the ring on Liz’s finger as a promise they would always be together, always be there for each other. Of course, they didn’t need a ring to know that, Max saw it at the department store and he had to get it for her. After a few kisses, they ate the wonderful dessert that Max laid out for them and the night ended with them, in Liz’s lounge chair, watching the stars.
“Max, do you think you’ll ever go there? Home I mean” Liz wondered, that if they found a way home, would he ever leave? Looking in his eyes, she waited for his answer
“No, my home is here, on Earth, with you. I could never leave you Liz, I love you.” He said softly as he caressed her cheek.
“And I love you.” She said back as his face lowered in for a kiss of promise, promise of a new future, together.
Thank you everyone for the awesome feedback you are leaving me. It makes me keep on coming back to give you more. I am in the process of writing the following part, so hopefully this time next week I will have it finished, RL can be hard when it comes to Roswell
Anyway, on with the fic:
Previously on Roswell:
Part 10
It was another long night at the Crashdown Café. Liz and Maria have been working every night for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, two waitresses were on maternity leave while another was out sick. Of course, they have been getting double the tips but they hardly had any time to spend with their boyfriends. Liz couldn’t remember the last time she had spent a nice, quiet, romantic evening with Max.
She looked down at her right hand. Of course, she would never forget the night he gave her that silver ring that surrounded her finger. He was so romantic that night. She didn’t need a ring to remind her of that, she always know. The inscription of course was a plus.
I am yours and you are mine
That was one of the best nights of her life. She missed him so much. The only times they would see each other anymore was at school and when he ate at the Crashdown. But she wouldn’t trade that for anything. She cherishes any second she is with him, even if its for a second.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Its been 2 months since he shared an evening with his girlfriend. She has been working every night since they went back to school after Thanksgiivng. And then Brody was working him like a dog to prepare for the Annual UFO Convention so he himself was busy with work. Thanks to that, Brody gave him a well-deserved raise, but he still ached for her.
Max would still see Liz everyday either at school or at the Crashdown but it wasn’t the same. The last night they shared an evening together was the night of Thanksgiving when he gave her that ring. God, what a night that was, he thought. He was both nervous and excited. Nervous on giving it to her and excited on her reaction to the ring. She never looked more beautiful than she had at that moment when she saw it. Her eyes shimmered when she read the inscription. Her smile was so radiant. One of the things he loved about her. He would do anything to make her happy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Max left the UFO Center and crossed the street approaching the Crashdown. This was the time of night when Liz and Maria would be cleaning up and closing up the restaurant for the night but he saw only Liz. Maria was either in the back or she went home already. Liz looked preoccupied with something on the counter. He came closer and closer to the doors that would open his way to her.
He opened the door and found Liz sitting on the chair all the way at the right side of the counter. She was still in her Crashdown uniform with her hair down. From the looks of it, she was going through the day’s receipts. He approached her slowly and when he was close enough, he wrapped his arms around her with his cheek next to hers.
“Hey.” he whispered in her ear as he kissed her softly on her cheek.
“Hey.” she whispered back.
“How’s my girl?” he asked in a husky voice.
“Lonely.” She said as put her hands on his.
“I know, I missed you so much these last few weeks.”
“I know, I missed you too.” She said as she felt his lips on her cheek.
“Hopefully things will slow down soon.” Max said as he pushed her hair away from her ear.
“Yea, maybe they will.” Liz whispered as she felt Max’s lips kissing her from her cheek to that spot behind her ear that he knew she liked when he kissed her there.
He turned her around so he could see her face. In his eyes, she was more radiant then ever before. He knew to always trust his instincts when it came to her. He knew it that day when he saved her. Saving Liz was the only choice he would make at that moment. He didn’t care about the consequences; all he cared about was her. Not saving her was never an option; he would never take that option. God how much he loved this woman, he thought. There is no way he would ever let her go. Whatever challenges they faced, they faced them together. It was her love that made him who he was and still is, she made him stronger.
“What?” she asked as he was staring once more.
“It’s just…” he paused.
“What Max? Tell me.’ She said as she cupped his cheeks with her palms.
“You are so beautiful, I love you so much.” Max whispered with his arms surrounding her.
His lips came closer as hers did after what he said to her. A soft kiss came to their lips as their lips parted, Liz whispered back.
“Oh Max, I love you too, so much. These last few weeks of not being able to see you every night have been torture.” She said as she was kissing him back.
“I know.” He said as his lips trailed down her cheek to her neck.
“Oh Max.” Liz moaned as the passion grew between them.
All these weeks of not being able to spend more than 5 minutes alone with each other was pure torture to them both. Now that passion was coming out of their shells, unaware where they were when that would happen.
Liz’s arms surrounded Max’s neck as he picked her up and placed her on the counter as their lips found each other again. Their kisses deepened as their tongues found each other, moans coming out from their throats.
Liz realized that her parents weren’t home and she didn’t want to go so far with Max, not just yet, she wanted that to be perfect.
“Max” Liz breathed as she tried to get a word in as their passion broke free.
“What? What’s wrong?” He looked concerned.
“Nothing, its just….” She looked down, a little embarrassed by what she was going to say to him.
“Liz, what is it? You can tell me anything. Anything at all.” He said as his fingers lifted her chin so he can look at her, into those beautiful soulful eyes.
“Well, I just don’t want to go too far yet, can you understand that Max?”
“Of course, I love you so much Liz, and if we ever do go that far, I want it to be perfect. You deserve that much Liz. I would do anything to make you happy.”
“Really?”
“really.”
“Max, would you mind staying with me tonight?”
“What about your parents?”
“They are out of town at a restaurant convention in Santa Fe.”
“Sure, I’ll stay with you.
“After tonight, I didn’t want to be apart from you.”
“Liz, you will never be apart from me. You will always have a piece of me with you. Just like there is a piece of you in me. You’re my soul mate Liz, I love you so much.”
“Oh my, Max.”
“Its true Liz, I’ve always known it, ever since I got off that school bus and saw you at school, I just regret all that time I spent just watching you and not getting to know you.”
“Max, don’t say that, you can’t change the past.”
“But..” Liz silenced him with her fingers.
“Shh.. We have a whole future together Max, a new future, together.”
Liz said as she placed a soft kiss on his lips. She slide her fingers into his and walked with him upstairs to her bedroom where he stayed with her during the night with his arms wrapped around her. Hopefully, one of the first of many nights like this one to come in their future together.
Part 11
"Max, Max, please we have to stop." Liz said running down the street trying to keep up with Max.
"Let's run away together. Away from here. Away from everything. You and me. I see everything so clearly now, as long as we're together, nothing else matters." Max confessed to Liz.
"Max, you're drunk. Nothing you're saying is true." Liz said trying to convince him of the crazy idea he was suggesting.
He turned looking at the lamppost and turned to face Liz, taking her hand and confessing how he felt.
"It's all true Liz, its how I really feel." He said taking her towards the light.
"It's all just magic when I think about you." Max touched the lamppost and the light began to shimmer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Well, convince her Max." The radio host said and Max pushed his microphone away and his eyes looked onto Liz, never leaving. One step and he brought his lips toward her and kiss her with a firey passion, a passion that has been bottled up inside for weeks, then the images came through their connection and filled their minds.
Seeing Liz's face in the jeep when they drove down the Old Highway.
Seeing her face when he entered the Crashdown the morning after their first kiss.
Again when she stepped in to help Michael at the Indian Reservation.
When they danced at the Soap Box Factory party.
When she taught him to play pool on their first date.
When he wanted to kiss her in the jeep heading south on 285.
When they almost kissed in the science lab at school and again at the party.
When they kissed for the first time on her balcony.
The night he helped her say good-bye to her grandmother.
Liz suddenly awoke to her alarm clock. It was February 14th, Valentine's Day. In The Air Tonight was playing on the radio, which she thought was coincidental. She remembered that night so well. She was mortified about the blind date contest that Maria entered her in, but even more when she saw Max outside the restaurant but that turned out to be one of the best nights of her life. Max finally let all the things out that he was keeping hidden inside, things he would never admit too.
Suddenly, the radio host of the morning show got Liz out of her thoughts.
"Good morning Roswell and Happy Valentines Day to all you lovebirds out there. We are now taking callers to let their Valentine's out there know what ever is on their minds."
Oh my, that is just so sweet." Liz said.
"Good morning and who are we talking to this morning?"
"Hi, my name is Max."
"Oh my god." Liz whispered and turned around facing her bedside radio.
"Hi there Max and who is your Valentine?"
"That would be my girlfriend Liz."
"Well Max, I am sure Liz is very lucky."
"Actually, I think I am the lucky one."
"Awww, Max" Liz whispered, sitting down on her bed.
"And Max, if Liz is listening, what would you like to say to her?"
"Well, Liz, sweetheart, if you are listening. I have loved you since the moment I laid eyes on you and I feel so lucky to have you in my life and I would be honored if you would like to go steady with me?"
"Oh my god."
"Well, Max, that certainly is a great Valentine gift to your girlfriend."
"Thank you."
"Okay, Liz, if you're listening, call us at 555-KROZ and give Max your answer. While we wait for her to call, here is the latest from Lifehouse."
"Oh my god...." Liz whispered, thinking back to when it was a late night at the Crashdown.
She was supposed to be working but instead she was daydreaming. Turning around in the shower in the girl's locker room and then he appeared, with those beautiful soulful brown eyes. She came out of her daydream too quickly and with that, knocking over a bowl of strawberries and Maria told her she had a visitor and there he was, staring at me with those beautiful eyes.
"What are you doing here Max?"
"Well, I have orders from my planet to take over the Earth." Max jokingly said to lighten the mood for once.
"Besides that."
"I just wanted to make sure we could still be friends."
"Yea, I mean, we are."
"Good."
"Why wouldn't we be?"
"Well, we haven't been able to talk since that night."
"Max, look, people do a lot of dumb things when their drunk."
"Liz, I owe you an explanation."
"No, Max, you don't."
"Yes, I do. Liz, after we broke up, I was having second thoughts about us, I was alone, I couldn't focus, all my thoughts were about you and how happy we were. We're good for each other Liz and I want us to try again."
"Max."
He then approached her and kissed her with a passion, never wanting to let go, knocking over the strawberries in the process.
Just then, Liz's thoughts came back to reality. And she knew what she had to do. She picked up the phone and dialed.
"Hello, you're on the air with KROZ, and who am I speaking to?"
"Hi, this is Liz."
"Well, Liz, Max here is on the edge of his seat and so are we with an answer. What's it going to be?"
"Max, I love you so much and my answer is yes, I would be honored to go steady with you."
"Liz, sweetheart, you just made me the happiest man on the planet. I love you."
"And I love you."
"Congratulations Max and Liz, have a great Valentine's day together"
"Thank you." Max and Liz said together.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Later that day at school, Liz, Maria, Isabel and Tess were having lunch in the cafeteria talking about their Valentine's Day plans with their boyfriends.
"Liz, I still can't believe Max's surprise to you on the radio this morning. And trust me, I didn't know anything about it." Isabel said. She had no idea of her brother's idea, especially on KROZ of all things.
"I know, but you got to admit, it was pretty romantic." Liz said.
"Liz, you are just too lucky, don't ever let that prince charming go." Maria jokingly said.
"I have no intention of that happening." Liz laughed. "At least, none of us are alone this Valentine's."
"You mean, none of you had a Valentine's last year?" Tess asked curiously.
"Oh, you missed a lot before you showed up last year Tess." Isabel said.
"So, tell me, don't keep me in suspense." Tess asked very giddily.
"Well, I remember that night in the Crashdown, we were cleaning up while Alex was practicing on the guitar since his band was auditioning for the Blind Date concert and Maria entered both of us in a Blind Date contest, without me even knowing it, and we were listening to the radio when they said they were coming to the Crashdown and they picked me. I was so embarrassed. I so wanted to kill you for that Maria." Liz explained to Tess and turned to Maria.
"Hey, it wasn't a total loss, prince charming did come to the rescue." Maria winked.
"Yes he did, of course he was in his drunken state, but it was just too cute." Liz remembered.
"Unfortunately Max found out the hard way about alcohol." Isabel joked.
"And he swore it off too." Liz laughed.
"Anyway, he was just so romantic, he told me things that I never thought he would ever say, like running away together, its like he was giving me my fantasies."
"Wow. Did he really say that?" Tess asked.
"Yes he did, unfortunately the radio van caught up with us and took us the concert and I was just so embarrassed since they had Kyle, my blind date and Max up there on stage, it was so humiliating."
"Why Kyle?"
"Oh yea, I forgot that part, umm Kyle was the one that got Max drunk."
"Oh my god."
"And when the radio host asked each of the guys to explain themselves, it was too funny, but then when it was Max's turn, he turned the microphone to the side and he kissed me and that’s when I got all these flashes from him and that of course was when he sobered up."
"So you might call that a sober kiss huh Liz?" Maria laughed.
"Oh, just be glad you didn't win the contest Maria."
"Can you imagine that? What if Spaceboy came to me drunk, I would never let him live that down."
The girls laughed at that comment.
"So what’s everyone got planned tonight?" Isabel asked. "Alex is taking me to the Save Ferris concert."
"Oh, Isabel, that is so romantic. Spaceboy is cooking me dinner at his apartment."
"Kyle and I are going to Senior Chow's for dinner and then to a movie." Tess said.
"Max is keeping me in suspense, he is picking me up at the Crashdown and he has not dropped any hints. Have you guys heard anything?"
"Nope." They all said.
"Hmmm, I wonder what he has planned." Liz pondered the thought of what kind of evening Max has planned.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was 7:00 p.m., Valentine's night and Max Evans pulled into his usual parking spot outside the Crashdown Cafe to pick up his girlfriend, Liz Parker. Max was so nervous, he has been planning this night for weeks and he didn't want Liz to be disappointed. It was either now or never. He came out of the jeep and walked through the front door up the staircase to his girlfriend's apartment. He knocked at the door and there stood Liz's mother.
"Hello Max. Nice to see you again." Nancy Parker greeted Max.
"Thank you Mrs. Parker, you look very lovely this evening." Max politely said to his girlfriend's mother.
"Oh please Max, call me Nancy, and please come in." Nancy offered Max into the apartment into the living room.
"Thank you Nancy." Max walked in.
"Why don't you have a seat and I will check on Liz for you."
"Thank you."
Nancy Parker walked her way to her daughter's bedroom. She has never seen Liz happier than when she is with Max, she knows he is good for her. My, they grow up fast.
She knocked on Liz's door. "Liz honey, Max is here."
"Okay Mom, tell him I will be right out."
"Max, Liz will be out in a bit, may I offer you a drink?"
"No thank you..." Max said, as he was about to say Nancy's name, when Liz walked into the room 'My god, she looks more beautiful each minute' he thought.
"Hi Max." Liz smiled.
"Hi Liz." Max smiled back. She looked radiant. She was wearing that 3/4 red blouse he got her for Christmas and of course he was wearing the ring he bought for her.
"What?"
"You look so beautiful."
"Thank you."
"Well, why don't you kids get going." Nancy Parker said to the happy couple.
"Good night Nancy and thanks again."
"Not a problem Max, be sure Liz is home by midnight."
"I will, good night."
"Good night Mom." Liz said and kissed her mom on her cheek.
"Good night sweetheart."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Max helped Liz into the jeep as they drove outside the Roswell city limits. Curiosity getting the best of her, Liz had to ask the obvious question.
"Max, where are we going?"
"It's a surprise. Do you trust me?" Max said as he touched her hand.
"With my life?" Liz said without hesitating, putting her fingers through his hand.
Within minutes, Max and Liz arrived at their destination, the same place where they slept under a night of stars almost a year ago.
"You remember that first night we came here?" Max asked looking into her eyes.
"How could I forget? That night was so magical."
"Yes it was."
Max turned off the engine and exited the jeep around to Liz’s side and helped her out. He held her hands in his and whispered softly to her.
“Close your eyes.”
She smiled back at him and did as he asked. Max held her hands and brought her not far from the jeep as they approached the destination.
“Okay, open your eyes.”
Before her eyes, was a picnic, candlelight flickering, white roses, sparkling apple juice with 2 glasses, and apple crumb cake. She felt like she was going to cry.
“Max..Its just so beautiful.” She whispered.
“No, you are beautiful.” He approached her and placed his hand on her cheek.
“I can’t believe you did this.”
“Anything for you, I wanted this Valentine’s to be special for you.”
“Max, you didn’t have to do this, being with you is the perfect gift you could ever give me.”
“I feel the same way, I love you so much.”
“I love you, more and more each day. You never seize to amaze me Max.”
“Only because you make me that way.” Max spoke from his heart and approached her lips slowly and gently.
Max and Liz spent the next three hours watching the sunset, eating the cake, and drinking the sparkling juice. It was a perfect evening, even more perfect than either one can imagine. A big difference between this year and last.
Since it was a school night, Max had to bring Liz home at a reasonable hour, neither wanted the night to end, but after tomorrow, mid winter break would be here and they had the whole week to spend a lot more time together.
Max pulled the jeep into the back of the Crashdown and walked Liz to the door of her apartment. She took out her keys from her purse and turned to face Max.
“Max, I had a wonderful time tonight, thank you.”
“Your welcome Liz.”
“Well, good night”
“Night Liz.”
Their faces came close for once last kiss for the evening, hands surrounding each other, just like when they first kissed nearly two years ago, which felt like a lifetime to them. Just then the front door opened and Nancy Parker was standing there. Max straightened up, a little uncomfortable that his girlfriend’s mother walked in on them kissing outside their apartment.
“Hi Mrs. Parker”
“Good evening Max, did you kids have fun?”
“We had an amazing time Mom, Max made me a picnic dinner in the desert.”
“Oh Max, that is so romantic, I am sure you two had a marvelous time.”
“Thank you Mrs. Parker, it was amazing.”
“Your welcome, well tomorrow’s a school day Liz, so say good night and come inside.” Nancy said as she whispered in her daughter’s ear “You found yourself a wonderful man, don’t let him go.”
“Thanks Mom, I’ll be in in a second. Good night Max.”
“Night Liz.” Max said with a kiss on her cheek and whispered in her ear. “Happy Valentine’s Day my love.”
She smiled back at him and he walked his way back to the jeep. What would she ever do without him.
It was Friday afternoon and the talk around the halls at West Roswell High was everyone’s Valentine’s Day. Who went where with whom and who did what and who said what. Another good thing about this Friday was the last day of school before the nice long week off. Some teachers were freeing their students for the break, some weren’t so charitable. But to one group of students as long as nothing alien happened during their break, all the homework in the world couldn’t spoil their week off.
Liz Parker was getting her books out of the locker, while her best friend Maria Deluca was telling her about her evening with her boyfriend Michael Guerin.
“I’m telling you Liz, it was just so romantic. He cooked me linguini and there was garlic bread, candles lit all around the apartment, he made the evening so special.” Maria explained the evening to Liz.
“Maria, that’s wonderful, it sounds like he planned like that for a while.”
“Well, he said he was planning it since Christmas, which was sweet.”
Just then in the middle of their conversation, Max Evans came up to this steady girlfriend and wrapped his arms around her.
“Hey gorgeous.” Max whispered as he kissed her on the cheek.
“Hey yourself.” Liz said as she kissed him on his lips.
“Hey Maria, how was your night with Michael?” Max asked, wondering if Michael took his advice.
“Max, it was wonderful thank you. Did you give him any pointers?”
“A little here and there, he didn’t wear jeans did he?”
“No thank god.” Maria laughed.
“Well, where are you girls off to?”
“Well, we got an early shift at the Crashdown due to the break.” Liz said.
“Yea and I got work at the UFO Center, are we still on for tonight?” Max asked.
“Most definitely.” Liz said as she kissed him once more. “8:00?”
“You got it.” Max smiled back at her. Still can’t believe Liz Parker was going steady with him, he always dreamed it, but never thought it can be this real.
“I’ll see you later.”
“Later.” One last kiss before they went to their jobs.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Max was finishing up the day at the UFO Center. Since it was a little slow, Brody let him off early tonight. Thankfully he was seeing Liz in two hours for their date tonight. Max got into his jeep and started heading home.
Their was too much traffic on Cherry Lane so Max decided to take a little detour. He was about to make a right when a delivery truck came out of nowhere. With little time to react, the truck slammed into the jeep.
The driver rushed out of his truck running to the vehicle that he just rammed into by accident.
“Hey buddy, you alright?” The driver was getting no response out of the young man who appeared to be unconscious with his head on the steering wheel. He pulled out his cell phone and dialed for an ambulance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Liz was finished up for the night, and it was a very long night, mostly full of students from West Roswell High all geared up for the night off. She went upstairs and took a shower and started to get ready for her date with Max.
She was putting on her lip gloss when her phone rang. Thinking to herself, its probably Max, he always called before he came over. She approached the phone and answered.
“Hello.” Liz answered.
“Hi, I am looking for a Liz Parker.” A woman said.
“This is Liz Parker.”
“This is Nurse Davis from Roswell Memorial Hospital.”
“What’s the problem?”
“You need to come down here right away Miss Parker. Your boyfriend, Max Evans, was in a car accident.”
Liz couldn’t speak, the phone slipped out of her hands, grasping at what the nurse just told her Your boyfriend, Max Evans, was in a car accident She never thought she would ever get that phone call. She started to cry. Max. oh god
Liz picked up the phone and answered, “I’ll be right there.”
Liz grabbed the keys to her mom’s car and headed to the hospital, hoping it was not as bad as she was thinking. I’m coming Max.
Part 11
"Max, Max, please we have to stop." Liz said running down the street trying to keep up with Max.
"Let's run away together. Away from here. Away from everything. You and me. I see everything so clearly now, as long as we're together, nothing else matters." Max confessed to Liz.
"Max, you're drunk. Nothing you're saying is true." Liz said trying to convince him of the crazy idea he was suggesting.
He turned looking at the lamppost and turned to face Liz, taking her hand and confessing how he felt.
"It's all true Liz, its how I really feel." He said taking her towards the light.
"It's all just magic when I think about you." Max touched the lamppost and the light began to shimmer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Happy Easter Fanatics!
And here's a new part with it. I hope you enjoy it and that some of your questions are answered.
Part 12
Liz Parker raced downstairs to her mother’s car and rushed to Roswell Memorial Hospital to where her boyfriend Max Evans was. She never thought she would receive a phone call like that. Times like this she was thankful that Max suggested that she would be listed as his emergency contact in case anything happened. After the car accident where they drew blood, they all decided that their human friends would be listed as an emergency contact. And last summer, Max learned that his blood cells change to human form in case of an accident such as this. Even though his alien side knew how to do this, she wouldn’t be okay until she saw him, with her own eyes. She was just scared to see what kind of shape he was in and praying that it wasn’t as worse as the first time. But this time it was different, he was alone, at least she was with him the first time.
Liz arrived at the hospital within minutes. Luckily she spotted a parking space close to the entrance. She ran out of the car through the double doors through the emergency room and spotted the nurse’s station.
One of the nurses saw a young woman approaching, she was in tears and looked as if she was living through a nightmare. The young woman was in so much tears, she could barely get a word out.
“Can I help you miss?” the nurse asked.
“A nurse David called me about…my..boyfriend Max Evans…he was in a ….” Liz was crying through the words she was trying to say. She couldn’t get it out, she needed to see him.
“Yes that was me, I noticed you were listed as his emergency contact. We got him stabilized but he is still unconscious. He is upstairs in intensive care, in room 304. You can go on up.”
“Thank you.” Liz whispered through her tears and she didn’t bother to head towards the elevators, but raced for the stairs to the third floor.
She came down a long hallway until she came towards the intensive care unit and she found it room 304. Her hands were shaking when she reached for the handle, but she had to open it. She opened the door and there he was.
The love of her life in a hospital bed. There were tubes everywhere, a monitor measuring his heart beat and an oxygen tube on his face. She slowly approached his bedside to where there was a chair, she ran her hand through his bangs and took his hand and sat down.
“Max. It’s Liz.” She said talking to him, praying he could hear her.
But she was getting no response. The tears started coming back again.
“Max, please, you have to wake up. Don’t leave me.” She sobbly said. She ran her thumb over his hand. She suddenly came out of her thoughts when the door opened.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” A man said.
“Oh, its okay.”
“Are you Liz Parker?”
“Yes.”
“I am Dr. Stephan, I have been treating Max since he arrived.”
“What happened? All the nurse told me was that he was in a car accident.”
“Yes, the driver that rammed into Max’s jeep didn’t see Max coming and it was too late to react, thank god he came out of the truck to check on Max and he called 911. the paramedics brought Max in and we treated him immediately. He has a small concussion with a few bruises and cuts and he has a broken knee, but he will heal. We were able to stabilize him but he hasn’t woken up yet. Don’t worry, he will be just fine. You are more than welcome to stay Liz.”
“Thank you doctor, thank you for taking care of him.”
“you are quite welcome. Just ring the nurse bell if you need anything.”
Liz nodded her head and her eyes went back to Max, still holding his hand, vowing not to leave his side. Then it hit her, she was the only one that was notified. She reached for the phone and called Isabel.
Over at Alex’s house, Isabel and Alex were watching a movie when her cell phone went off, she checked the caller ID and saw it was an unknown caller.
“Hello?”
“Isabel, its Liz.”
“Hey Liz, Where are you?”
“Roswell Memorial.”
“What? What happened? Are you okay?” Isabel said frantic on the phone.
“It’s Max, he was in a car accident.”
“Oh my god, is he going to be okay?”
“Yea, the doctors say he is going to be fine, but he is still unconscious, the doctors were kind enough to let me stay with him, but because its intensive care he can’t have so many people here.”
“Oh god, Liz, I am so sorry.”
“Thanks Isabel, would you mind calling the others? What about your parents?”
“They’re in Santa Fe this weekend with a client.”
“I’ll call them.”
“Are you sure Liz?”
“Yea. Thanks Isabel.”
“Your welcome. We will stop by later okay?”
“Okay.”
Liz hung up the phone and then dialed Mrs. Evans cell phone. Waiting for her to answer, she heard a pick up.
“Hello?”
“Hi Mrs. Evans, its Liz.”
“Liz, dear, is everything okay?”
“No, not really.”
“Whats wrong?”
“It’s…it’s Max. He was in a car accident this afternoon.”
“Oh god, is he going to be okay? Where are you now?
“I am sitting by his bedside at Roswell Memorial. He’s in intensive care but the doctor’s say he’s going to be fine, I am just waiting for him to wake up.”
“Thank you Liz, unfortunately we can’t get back to Roswell for 2 days, will you look after him?”
“Of course Mrs. Evans.”
“Thank you dear, just hang in there alright and call us if you need anything.”
“Thank you.”
Liz hung up the phone and ran her thumb on Max’s hand. She started crying again, scared for him. She took his hand and softly kissed it and brought his hand to her cheek.
“Max, honey, please you have to wake up. I hope that you can hear me. The doctor’s say you are going to be fine, I know you are going to be, but I can’t help it Max. I just worry about you so much, you mean everything to me. I can’t lose you Max, I won’t. We shared so much, but there’s so much more we still have to do together. Just remember darling, I will never leave your side, not ever, I’ll always be with you.” Liz poured her heart out to her one and only love. She kissed his cheek, praying that he’ll wake up but still nothing.
As the night wore on, Max still hadn’t woken up. Liz received calls from their friends praying for Max’s recovery as they all waited until he regained consciousness. Eventually Liz fell asleep, still holding onto Max’s hand, as she waited, waiting for her love to come back to her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sun started to rise as a brand new day was coming. There was an increased heart rate in the intensive care unit of Roswell Memorial Hospital from a young man who was lucky to be alive. His eyes started to open, he didn’t remember what happened at first, but then it started coming back to him. He was on his way to see his girlfriend when a truck came out of nowhere. He didn’t remember anything up until she came in his room the night before. He heard every word she spoke to him the night before. He sadly heard her tone, the pain she went through. He turned his head and there she was, asleep with her head on his bed, holding his hand. He lifted his free hand and ran his fingers through her hair. She started to lift her head when she felt a familiar touch, a wonderful touch. And that meant one thing.
“Hey.” Max softly said.
He was awake.
“Max, oh my god, you’re awake.” Liz said so fast as she got up quickly and hugged her boyfriend so tight.
“Easy Liz, I’m fine.” Hugging her back, running his hands through her hair, comforting his distraught girlfriend. “Just still in a little pain.”
“Oh, sorry.”
“It’s okay.” He smiled back at her. He then took her hand needing to feel her touch.
“What are you doing here Liz?”
“Like I would be anywhere else.” She said laughing through her sobs, running her hand through his hair.
“I’m just glad you’re here Liz.” He said as he took her hand, needing her touch.
“Me too.” She said rubbing his hand with hers. “I better call the nurse and tell her you’re awake.”
Max stopped her. “No, don’t do that, I just..I’m not ready for that yet. Can you stay with me for a few more minutes?”
“Of course Max, anything.”
“Can you lay down with me for a while?”
“Sure. “
Liz sat on the bed and lay down next to Max, giving him the time he needed before facing the world outside this room. She laid her head lightly on his shoulder and he put his arm around her, holding her close. Thinking to himself, as long as she was with him, nothing else mattered. She would be with him as long as he needed her. She was the one to help him heal. All of the world’s medicine didn’t matter. All he needed was her love. And she vowed, that is all he was going to get. She would be there for him as long as he needed her.
Well, I actually finished the next part this evening. Yay! Thank you all who have been supporting this fic, it really means a lot to me. I do hope more people will find this fic too. With that said, on with the story!
Part 13
Two weeks later
It was Friday afternoon, and the school day has ended. To Liz Parker, the school days were extremely long and lonely. Reason is, her boyfriend, Max Evans was not there with her. He was still in the hospital after his accident. It has been two weeks since it happened. She thanked god each night that he was still with her. Max was extremely lucky. He was improving more and more by each passing day. His injuries weren’t severe but time helped him heal. Max has been going for physical therapy each day to help his knee. When he wasn’t in the wheelchair, he would be walking with the crutches that the hospital provided him with. But Liz was with him every step of the way. Her parents gave her time off work at the Crashdown because they knew that she needed to be with him. The school day itself was torture to Liz, because he wasn’t there. She missed the looks and passing notes that they would do during class and meeting in the eraser room during lunch. When she wasn’t at school, she would be with Max at the hospital
Each day, Liz would go to Roswell Memorial Hospital and spend time with Max. She would come see him before and after school. Some days when she would come, he would be sleeping. But it didn’t matter if he was sleeping or not, she just needed to be near him. Being close to him was enough to her. Being near each other was enough for both of them.
Liz became known at the hospital as Max’s girl. The nurses knew how special she was to their patient. They didn’t hesitate when Liz would come to see Max. They still remember how frantic she was the first time they met the young girl. They thanked god that nothing happened to her boyfriend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Liz Parker entered her boyfriend’s hospital room with balloons in her hands. She saw him sitting back down into his bed with his crutches in his hands. She smiled and approached him.
“Hey.” He said as he sat down and smiled at his girlfriend.
“Hey.” She said as she approached him and kissed him softly. She caressed his right cheek with her hand. “How are you feeling?” she spoke softly.
“Doing better, even more now that you’re here.” He smiled and kissed her palm.
“Here let me get that for you and get back into bed.” Liz said as she helped Max get back into bed and she took his crutches and put them on the side.
“Thanks Liz.”
“No problem Max.”
He watched her as she took off her jacket and emptied out the items in the shopping bag.
“I brought you a Will Smith burger and some Men in Blackberry pie from the Crashdown.”
‘God, she was amazing. How did I get so lucky?’ Max thought. “Thanks Liz, the food here isn’t exactly restaurant quality.” Max laughed as so did she.
“I know what you mean. Do you still need more Tabasco sauce?”
“Yea, that would be great.”
“Good, because I brought you 2 more bottles just in case.”
“God, I love you. You are too good to me.”
“I love you too.” She said as she leaned in for a kiss.
“So who are the balloons from?”
“Oh, we these are from Alex and Isabel. The flowers are from Kyle and Tess, and Michael and Maria gave me some of your cd’s and your parents gave me your cd player so you aren’t deprived during the day.” Liz said as she pulled out the bag of goodies that their good friends gave to Max.
“Wow.”
“I know, we have some amazing friends don’t we?”
“I know, can you believe how far we have come in the past year?”
“I know, it was only a year ago that Michael got his emancipation.”
“Has it been a year already?”
“I know, I can’t believe it”
“But some good has come out of it.”
“I know, we had some bump in the roads this past year, but its made us who we are now.”
“I know, I just wish…”
“You wish what Max?” She asked as she touched his hand.
“I wish that things between us were different last year.” He said as he caressed her hand.
“What do you mean?”
“I wish that I didn’t take a step back.”
“Max…”
“Its true Liz, I was just so scared that I lost my balance somehow, but then I came to realize that I found it in you.”
“Max..”
“And then the whole thing with Nasedo and Tess and the day you were kidnapped and then I was captured by the FBI.”
“Max, don’t…”
“Just being trapped in there, all I thought about was you Liz. You kept me alive in there, but there when Pierce was telling me about the other aliens they captured, I thought, god what if I never get of here. I’ll never see her again.”
“Max…”
“Just the thought of never seeing you again terrified me Liz. He showed me these images and I saw your face and then I saw you murdered, I had to tell him what I knew to save you.” The tears started to come in Max’s eyes.
“Max, listen to me.” She said as he looked into her eyes. “Nothing happened to me, I am right here and Pierce is dead. He can’t hurt us anymore. I am not going anywhere, I am right here beside you. Its where I belong, where I always will be.” She said as she kissed his tears away and held onto him.
“I love you so much, I would just die if anything ever happened you.” Max sobbed as he let out his tears that he held in for so long.
“Shhh, I love you too Max, I am not going anywhere, I am right here. Its where I will always be.”
Liz held onto Max as he let out all the pain and tears he held inside of him for the past year, never opening up to anyone until now. He thanked god that she was him to help him through this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two hours later, there was a knock on Max’s hospital room. The young couple motioned for the person behind the door to enter. It was Dr. Stephan, the man who has been treating Max since the accident.
“Good evening Mr. Evans. Miss Parker, nice to see you.”
“Hello Dr. Stephan, do you need a minute with Max?”
“No, no, you are welcome to stay, this will only take a minute.”
“Is there a problem doctor?” Max asked.
“No Max, actually I bring good news.”
“What is it?”
“Well, Max, you are healing very nicely and you have been progressing so well, that this time next week, you will be able to go home.”
“Are you serious?” Max said, shocked to hear the amazing news.
“Yes Max, I am very serious. You will still be going for outpatient physical therapy for about 3 more weeks until you are completely healed, but I don’t see any reason to keep you in the hospital for the rest of that time.”
“Thank you so much doctor.”
“You’re welcome. You two have a good night and I will see you in the morning Max.”
“Good night doctor and thank you.”
The doctor let himself out and closed the door leaving the young couple with the exciting news.
“Liz, did you hear that? I’m coming home!”
“Max, I can’t believe it, I am so happy!”
“I love you.”
“And I love you.” She said back to the man she loved. He faced some pain in the past year, but it has made him stronger. They didn’t know when he was going to get to come home after the accident, but now they knew. The kiss they shared was full of hope and love that was never lost. Max was finally coming home, where he belonged. To Max, all the home he needed was with his one and only love, Liz Parker. Max Evans went to sleep last night with wonderful dreams ahead of him.
The doctor let himself out and closed the door leaving the young couple with the exciting news.
“Liz, did you hear that? I’m coming home!”
“Max, I can’t believe it, I am so happy!”
“I love you.”
“And I love you.” She said back to the man she loved. He faced some pain in the past year, but it has made him stronger. They didn’t know when he was going to get to come home after the accident, but now they knew. The kiss they shared was full of hope and love that was never lost. Max was finally coming home, where he belonged. To Max, all the home he needed was with his one and only love, Liz Parker. Max Evans went to sleep last night with wonderful dreams ahead of him.
And with that said, on with Part 14!
Part 14
You will be able to go home.
Those seven words were the best words that Liz Parker has heard in nearly three weeks. The last time she came to visit her boyfriend, Max Evans, she didn’t expect to hear such terrific news. Ever since his accident, Max has been healing tremendously well. He was undergoing physical therapy and also with the love and support from his family and friends, it was helping even more.
After Max’s doctor explained to them the extent of Max’s physical therapy, three weeks was his estimate but he doesn’t imagine that the time frame could be any longer than that. Without waiting any longer, Liz called his parents then their friends with the terrific news. It has been a long since they have had good news such as this. And truthfully, the smile hasn’t left Max’s face since. He was really coming home. To Liz, this was the best news that they could get. Her boyfriend was finally coming home.
Of course, they talked about Max’s speedy recovery from his ordeal. The gang of course gathered in Max’s hospital room later that night to discuss if maybe he was healing himself. After a long discussion, Max insisted to everyone that he was in no way using his powers because it would be too obvious and suspicious. And Max also made it clear that he wouldn’t heal himself once he was home and well. Michael of course declined Max’s idea but Max thought it was best for everyone.
“Michael, I don’t see the need to use my powers, besides it would look too suspicious if I am healed completely after 1 day at home.”
“I know that Maxwell, but are you sure about this?”
“Yes, I’m sure. I was lucky that I even survived the accident and am healing normally.”
“Max, are you really sure about this?” Liz asked while stroking her thumb on his hand.
“Yes Liz, I’m sure, I don’t want to raise any suspicions to anyone, especially since the whole town probably knows about the accident and they see that I’m suddenly healed.”
“Okay, as long as you are not in any pain.”
“I promise.” He said as he took her hand and kissed it.
“Okay, I think that’s our cue to get on out of here.” Kyle insisted.
“Yea I think Kyle’s right. Oh Max, did they say what day you are coming home?” Maria asked.
“Thursday.” Max said.
“Great.” Maria said with a smile on her face and a plan in her mind.
“Okay, I better get going too. I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?” Liz said looking back at Max.
“Tomorrow.” Max said as Liz bent down for a soft kiss.
“Sweet dreams.” Liz whispered.
“Only of you.” Max whispered back. “Good night guys.” Max said to everyone as they exited out of his room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Liz walked out of Max’s room and hurried up to Maria.
“So, Liz how are you doing?” Maria asked concern for her best friend.
“I’m great Maria.”
“Yea?”
“Yea. I am just so happy that Max can finally go home. I’ve been so worried about him and he has adjusted to the situation better than I would have. I’m surprised he isn’t bouncing off the walls yet. I know he will be so relieved when he can sleep in his own bed.”
“Okay, so Thursday, that should give us enough time.” Maria said to Liz.
“I know, he is going to be so surprised.”
“Did you talk to Mrs. Evans about the plans?”
“Yea, but I told her not to make anything, I love Max’s mom but she just can’t cook, especially for Max’s homecoming.”
“Oh you are so bad girl.”
“Oh come on Maria, remember when we used to go over for movie night and she made that fritatta. I will never forget the look on Max and Isabel’s faces.”
“Thank god her and Mr. Evans went out after that, I don’t think there was any way we could eat that in front of her.”
“I know, poor Mr. Evans.”
“So, with the party, is it just us and Max’s parents or are we inviting yours, my mom and the Sheriff?”
“Yea, I think we should invite everybody. I think Max would like that.”
“Okay, so we’ll go shopping this weekend for decorations, snacks, and what else?”
“Well, I am going to get him a new jacket, since the one he had was destroyed in the accident.”
“Do you know which one you are going to get him?”
“Well, I did see one that I know he will love but its so expensive.”
“Why don’t we all chip in and make it a group gift?”
“Oh that’s a great idea Maria.”
“Okay, so I will see you Saturday.”
“Great.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The past five days have been so busy for everyone. The gang was busy planning Max’s homecoming surprise party. Max, of course, had no idea. Liz was very careful with planning the party with everyone’s help and thankfully everyone pitched in for Max’s gift. Everything was going according to plan and Liz was now on her way to pick Max up. Max’s recovery though was a miracle to her. It could have been more severe but it wasn’t, thank god. She knew he could pull through anything.
Liz pulled out her cell phone and began dialing the numbers to make sure everything was on schedule.
“Hello?”
“Hi Tess, its Liz.”
“Hi Liz, are you at the hospital?”
“I’m almost there, I just wanted to make sure that everything is almost ready.”
“Yea, Isabel went out with Alex to pick up the cake and we are all set.”
“Great, thanks so much Tess.”
“No problem, see you soon.”
“Bye.”
As Liz ended her call with Tess, with perfect timing she made it to Roswell Memorial. She found a spot close to the entrance which was perfect. She didn’t want to make Max go too far with the crutches. She got of the car with a smile on her face, this would be the last time she would be coming here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Liz was approaching Max’s hospital room when she saw his doctor stepping out of his room. The doctor approached her, she was a little nervous, hoping nothing was wrong that would delay Max’s homecoming.
“Oh, hello Liz.”
“Hello Doctor. Is everything alright?”
“Yes, Max is doing just fine and he is ready to go, we just went over a few things so he is all set.”
Doctor, thank you so much. You have taken such good care of him and I don’t know how to thank you for all you’ve done.”
“Well, Liz, his recovery is mostly all you, he talks about you all the time. He is a lucky man to have someone like you in his life.”
“Thank you Doctor, but I think I’m the lucky one.”
“Take care, Liz.”
“Bye.”
Liz continued to walk towards Max’s hospital room as the doctor walked away. His doctor was so great and he took such good care of Max. She approached the door, took a deep breath and entered. She walked in and has not seen her boyfriend smile like he was right now.
“Hey.” Max said
“Hey you.” Liz said as she approached him and gave him a soft kiss. “You all set?”
“Yea. Let’s get out of here.”
“Here, let me take your bag.”
“Thanks Liz, I don’t know what I would do without you.”
“Well, let’s not find out.” Liz said with a little giggle.
She helped Max out of the bed and he got on the crutches that the hospital gave him and Max Evans walked his way out of the hospital and finally going home. They finally approached the car and Liz placed all of Max’s things in the trunk and opened the door for him and of course she caught him staring at her as he always does.
“What?”
“I just, I want to thank you Liz, for all you have done for me.”
“Max, come on.”
“I’m serious Liz, I wouldn’t have made it this far if it wasn’t for you.”
“Max, I love you, I would do anything for you. I was never so scared in all my life, but you made it and now you are coming home.”
“I love you too.”
“Let’s go home.”
