Part 12

Liz climbed out of the window and an agitated Alec followed her. They ran up to the fence and jumped it with ease. They ran through the forest but soon they were stopped by two X-7’s. One of them looked at Liz and pointed the gun at her, Liz froze but felt Alec push her out of the way as one of the guns went off. Liz swung into action and quickly knocked the two X-7’s unconscious.

“What is with people I know and getting shot?” Liz asked as she quickly ran to Alec’s side “Come on we have to keep moving” she stated helping him up.

“My arm” Alec muttered

“Come on we’ll be fine once we make it to the highway” Liz said grabbing his other arm and pulling him along. They made it the rest of the way to the highway without running into any more transgenics. As they reached the gas station Liz saw a familiar ute.

Sketch paid for his gas before heading back out to his ute. When he got there, there was a familiar brunette leaning against it “Liz?”

“Hey Sketch” She said running up and giving him a hug

“Where’ve you been? Ah tell me later we gotta get you home. But you’ll have to sit in the tray though the passenger seats got a spring sticking out of it.

“No problem. Sketch this is Alec a friend of mine” Liz introduced before she and Alec climbed into the back of Sketch’s ute. Liz had taken the lighter out of sketch’s pocket before climbing on the ute and was proceeding to heat the flame of the blade. As she did she noticed an engraving on the handle Tinga

“You knew Tinga?” Liz muttered

“We were friends” Alec said still clutching his arm

“This is gonna hurt” Liz said before using the knife to remove the bullet from Alec’s arm

He screamed out in pain before biting his lip. Liz removed the bullet and proceeded to cut the legs off her pants. She used the material to fashion a sling to put Alec’s arm in to restrain the movement. She used the left over fabric to place pressure on the wound and stop the bleeding.

Alec glanced at the now bare legs of Liz and in attempt to look away, looked up into her eyes which didn’t really help. As he gazed at her beauty he hoped to god he had some control over himself. “Uh you act like you have done this before” he pointed out

“Uh Maria and I went hiking once and she fell and broke her arm, this is how we made a sling until we got home” Liz stuttered, blushing under Alec’s intense gaze

“So uh why did you not particularly want to escape? I mean I have been called repulsive before but I can’t be that bad” Liz hoped to change the mood slightly

“General insecurities I suppose, seems stupid now. After hearing about the outside world from Tinga I just got a little paranoid about where I’m gonna stay earn money etc” Alec explained “And whoever said you where repulsive was obviously blind” he whispered honestly as he brought his hand up to cup her face, rubbing her cheekbone with his thumb.

“We’re home guys” Sketch said. Liz looked around and realized the ute had been parked in the alleyway behind the bar.

“Uh can you walk?” Liz asked as she blushed again and pulled away from Alec.

Alec nodded as Liz helped him stand and they followed sketch inside. “Maria would still be serving customers so we’ll wait for her in the apartment Liz told Sketch and Alec. “Actually Sketch would you mind telling her to close up early? Don’t tell her why just get her to close up”

“Sure” sketch nodded before heading back downstairs.

Liz led Alec into the kitchen and he leaned against the counter while Liz got out the first aid kit.

“So this is your place?” Alec asked attempting to make conversation

“Yeah, I’ll show you the bar tomorrow, but tonight you need your rest” Liz said as she began to cut away his shirt, revealing Alec’s smooth muscly chest

Alec noticed Liz blushing yet again, and smirked at the affect he was having her “I do not need rest I am a transgenic superhuman” Alec joked puffing up his chest

“Yeah a transgenic who just took a bullet for me” Liz rolled her eyes “Thank you by the way. But why did you do it?” Liz asked as she finished bandaging his wound and looked up into his eyes.

“Well I didn’t exactly know my way back into town. Didn’t want to get lost”

Liz smiled “How does your arm feel?”

“Much better, thank you” Alec whispered as he pushed a stray piece of hair back behind Liz’s ear. He leaned forward and pressed his lips against Liz’s. Liz was shocked to say the least but returned the kiss when Alec wrapped his arms around her waist. Liz opened her mouth slightly and allowed the kiss to deepen as she moved her hands up Alec’s arms to wrap them around his neck.

Liz pulled back and rested her hands against Alec’s chest. Alec leant his head against Liz’s before whispering “I have been wanting to do that since I first saw you”

“Really?” Liz breathed

Alec nodded before they both heard Maria and Sketch heading upstairs. “I do trust you sketch but I don’t see why I should have closed early” Maria said in her usual loud voice as she headed inside.

Maria saw a shirtless guy in their kitchen and went for the gun her and Liz kept by the front door. “Who the hell are you?” She spat pointing the gun in his direction.

“Whoah! Ria put the gun down for crying out loud” Liz said as she made her way out of Alec’s arms to stand between him and Maria.

“Liz!” Maria said dropping the gun and pulling her friend into a hug “Where the hell have you been?” She demanded

“Hang on” Liz said “You need your rest” Liz stated to Alec leading him to her bedroom “Get some sleep I’ll see you in the morning”

“What you’re not going to join me?” Alec smirked

“I’ll join you when your arm is better” Liz whispered before pushing him inside her room and closing the door.

“Come on chica where the hell were you?” Maria demanded when Liz came back into the kitchen “Cindy and Zack have been in Seattle with Max and Logan since you went missing” Maria handed Liz a fresh cup of coffee

“Why Seattle?” Liz asked

“Because Max got attacked by Brin who had been recaptured and brainwashed. Some chick called Renfro had Brin inject Max with a genetically modified strain of the flu. Max can’t touch Logan at all without making him sick” Maria explained

“Poor Max” Liz said “I however was in Chimaira”

“What!? At eagle rock? How Max said Lydecker destroyed the database and there was no chance of that starting” Maria rambled furiously. All this time Liz had only been a few hours away

“He didn’t destroy it he took it with him along with a select group of transgenics” Liz explained

“And was that shirtless hunk one of those select few?” Maria asked

“Alec? Yes he was. But there is some other stuff I have to talk about as well but that can wait till everyone is here I don’t want to go through it twice”

“Okay, Cindy sends her love but she is staying in Seattle, she met someone” Maria informed Liz

“Wow” Liz said

“And Zack Max and Logan will be here by morning”

“Good. So tell me what's going on with you and Sketch? When I was taken he didn’t have his own key to our apartment” Liz pointed out.

Part 13

“Well I gave him a key about a week ago. See we have kinda been together…for about a month” Maria said getting quieter

“Uh exsqueeze me, a baking powder?” Liz joked “Did I just hear miss men stink I am sticking to girls say she is going out with sketch?”

“Yeah”

“Well come on Ria spill the details” Liz demanded with a suggestive smile on her face

“Okay so like I said it started about a month ago when he was helping me clean up one night after close”

Sketch was helping Maria carry half empty beer glasses to the wash room and attempting not to keep staring at the petite blonde who had been occupying so many of his thoughts lately. He carried a tray over and then spun when he heard the shattering of glass

“Fuck!” Maria yelled as sketch made his way over and grabbed her hand

“Come sit down for a sec” He requested leading her to the couch in the break room.

Maria sighed, sounding frustrated “Sketch I have to get out there and clean-”

“You need to sit down and talk. Don’t think I haven’t been noticing your acting. You pretend that you are handling Liz being missing but its eating you up inside. I’m here for you Ria I know what you’re going through’

“No I don’t think you do! She was my best friend and she is gone, I don’t know if she is alive or dead, she could be in an entire different country” Maria began yelling as tears found there way out of her eyes

“Hey” Sketch said, wrapping one arm around her shoulders. After Maria calmed down a bit sketch began talking “I do know what you are going through. When I was 17 my best friend Alex Whitman died in a car accident. I shut myself off from everyone and it seriously messed with my head. Even though the person I ended up talking to was a shrink opening up helped. I think it would help you to” Sketch whispered

“Why are you being so nice?” Maria asked

“Because I care about you Ria”

“Really?” Maria asked, looking up into his eyes. Maria had been seriously fighting the feelings she had been having for sketch but as she looked in his eyes

Sketch’s lips were less than an inch away from Maria’s and as he slowly nodded he couldn’t help but lean forward that extra bit and pressed his lips to hers. After a moment he stopped abruptly

“I’m sorry I shouldn’t have done that I know how you dislike our team…” Sketch began to ramble

“Do it again” Maria requested, smiling at the surprised look on Sketch’s face. Maria leaned forward at the same time as he did and their lips met passionately. Sketch wrapped his arms around Maria’s waist as she slowly pushed him backwards

“and then…”

“Ria! You did it on the break room couch? That’s it we are getting a new couch for back there” Liz joked screwing up her face

“Oh like you haven’t done it on that couch” Maria said elbowing Liz in the ribs

“Meh” Was Liz’s reply.

The next day Alec awoke to find that it was not day at all he had slept through to the next night. On the night stand he found a note from Liz

Got you some clothes, slipped you some sleeping medication
so you would rest and let your arm heal

Alec looked up and saw and outfit on the end of the bed and couldn’t help but smile. He was going to like it on the outside. Glancing at his arm he was surprised to find that it had completely healed, which was extremely fast even considering the fact he was a transgenic. Getting dressed into the baggy jeans, muscle t and leather jacket Liz had bought him he headed into the kitchen to get himself a glass of water. It was then that he realized he could here a very noisy crowd downstairs, presumably in Liz’s bar

Alec heard some music start to play very loudly and then a large number of half drunk males began chanting Liz’s name. Putting down the glass of water he followed the noise downstairs and into the bar and was surprised at what he saw.

Liz was in a black pair of hot pants and a small red singlet top, dancing very suggestively on the bar top. Glancing around at the customers she smiled when she saw that Alec was up and looking very shocked. He was standing at the door leading towards the apartment with his jaw on the floor. Liz turned around and helped Maria on to the bar and they began dancing together.

The noise in the bar got even louder and despite the many shouts of encore Maria and Liz got off the table top when the song finished. “What was that about chica the dancing is your thing” Maria pointed out

“I know but did you see Alec’s face?” Liz laughed as she started serving drinks

“You know he can hear you right”

“I know” Liz winked at Maria as they continued serving drinks. Looking at the direction of the door to her apartment Liz realized that Alec wasn’t there anymore. However she did see the break room doors moving “Ria I’ll be back” She yelled before darting towards the break room

“See, you aren’t the only perfect transgenic” Liz pointed out as she snuck up on Alec.

He spun around and sandwiched Liz between the lockers and himself. Liz lifted her legs and wrapped them around his waist “What do you think?” Alec asked before capturing Liz’s lips with his own.

Liz returned the kiss and a groaned when she felt Alec’s obvious arousal press against her weak spot. She pushed off Alec’s leather jacket and began pulling at his shirt. Eventually she gave up and ripped it off exposing his extremely well defined muscles. “Your arm” Liz panted when she realized the wound was gone

“Oh you wanna talk about my arm? Well then I’m gonna go” Alec joked as he left the break and headed back upstairs with Liz right behind him.

He had only just made it into Liz’s bedroom when she jumped him and pushed him onto the bed. Straddling his lap Liz began to undo his belt.

“Frisky aren’t we?” Alec smirked

“Would you rather I stop?” Liz asked as she ceased removing is jeans

Alec flipped them over and removed his pants before Liz could react. Sliding his arms up Liz’s thighs he continued up until he had removed her top. Liz moaned when she felt his flesh against hers when he leant in to deliver another mind blowing kiss. Quickly removing her shorts and her underwear, so they were both naked, Liz straddled Alec’s waist and they began to bring each other to the height of pleasure. Something they repeated many times before finally collapsing onto the bed in the early hours of the morning.

Alec wrapped his arms around Liz and they both fell asleep soon after.

The next morning they both awoke to the sound of a gun going off.

Part 14

Liz calmly yawned as she rolled over and saw that it was mid morning. Getting up she pulled on a tight pair of jeans and deep blue halter neck top. Turning around Liz laughed at what she saw. Alec had pulled his jeans on and was stealthily trying to see who had fired the gun through a crack from Liz’s partially opened door.

Alec looked through the door and tried to see who was in the apartment. There was a girl with longish brown hair and a guy, about the same age with dusty blonde hair. At that moment however he was hit in the back of the head with a pillow. Turning he found Liz laughing at him

“What's so funny?” Alec whispered

“It’s Max and Zack back from Seattle you big dork” She explained walking over and kissing him on the lips.

Liz went to walk out the door but Alec spun her around for another kiss. Liz felt herself go weak at the knees as he kissed her tenderly. When she finally gathered enough will power to pull back she did and Alec rested his forehead on hers “I could get used to this” she mumbled

“You better because you’re going to have a pretty hard time getting rid of me” Alec warned with a smirk

Liz smiled “Find your shirt.” Kissing him on the lips briefly before walking out into the living room

“Liz!” Zack yelled running up and pulling his sister into a hug

“You okay girl?” Max asked giving her a hug after Zack

“I am now. So where are Cindy and Logan?” Liz questioned

“Oh Cindy sends her love but she met someone. Said she would call later” Zack explained

“Logan came in his car” Max stated solemnly

“Oh that genetic thing. We’ll find a way to fix that Max” Liz stated, getting up when she heard a knock at the door.

“Hey Liz”

“Hey Logan, come in” Liz said. Alec came out of Liz’s room and sat on the couch “Guys this is Alec” Liz said.

Alec held his arms out to Liz and she went over and sat in his lap. As he wrapped his arms around her she pointed to everyone “That’s Logan, Zack and Max. Maria is in her room still, probably with Sketch”

The three of them sat down before Maria came out of her bedroom, followed by Sketch “Hey guys” Maria said before introducing Sketch to Max and Logan.

“Okay so tell us Liz where were you” Zack asked

“Lydecker, while saying he destroyed the database, actually stole it for himself along with a select group of transgenics to start up Chimaira at eagle rock” Liz explained

“That son of a bitch…I am going to kill him” Max spat

“There’s more” Liz began “Alec and I don’t have any junk DNA. We are coded to do something, something big. Lydecker’s boss, goes by the name of sandman is due to arrive at eagle rock some time tomorrow” Liz explained

“Wait is it Eagle rock or Chimaira” Logan asked

“Oh right” Liz said shaking her head “It was called eagle rock back when we busted Max out. It’s Chimaira now”

“Wait why were you busting Max out of Eagle rock?” Alec asked

Liz looked at Maria and she nodded. Liz sighed “Okay so you all know the story of Max, Michael and Isabel who left us broken hearted and all that shit” she started. Alec hugged her, calming her down and she continued “Well when we first became friends with them it was after Maria got shot. Max healed her wound with his powers. See they were aliens”

“Wait did they land in the forties?” Logan inquired

“Yeah. Something about incubation pods and coming out as six year olds in the eighties” Liz waved her hand at him

“Wow” Logan chuckled

Liz continued with the story “So Maria dated Max, who was a king on his planet. And I was dating Michael who was an army general. Max was kidnapped by the FBI and taken to Eagle rock. Maria and I helped bust him out. Anyway that all happened and then another alien turned up saying that their planet needs them and they left the planet”

“Whoah” the others mumbled

“An alien named Khivar was wreaking havoc on their planet” Maria mumbled

“Yeah apparently this Khivar alien was some big bad” Liz mumbled

“Oh” Sketch said as if realizing something

“What is it?” Maria asked

He sighed “You guys know I would never do anything to hurt you right?”

“Yeah” Liz answered cautiously

Sketch was obviously nervous “Well… I am also an alien…and… I haven’t seen him since I was fifteen but… Khivar was my father”

Sorry its another short part but i wanted to post this for you guys cause i might not be on for a number of days

Part 15

“What?” Maria and Liz questioned

“Well like I said I haven’t seen him since I was fifteen. He was self centered and obsessed with gaining power. He would happily have killed anyone in his way, including me so I ran. I lived in foster care until I turned 19 and I haven’t heard from Khivar since”

“Is Sketch your real name?” Maria asked quietly

He shook his head “Its Casey…I’m sorry I didn’t tell you guys’ but-”

“Don’t worry…Casey” Maria said placing her hand over his

“Well Casey. We don’t like you any less but, understand this. You ever even think about leaving this planet we will hunt you down and kill you twice before you hit the ground” Liz warned

“I’m not going anywhere” he said directing his comment mostly towards Maria.

“So do you have any powers?” Zack asked, sounding interested

“Uh yeah I can put up a shield and blast stuff. A little molecular manipulation but nothing useful or important. I would probably have stronger powers if I had someone training me how to use them.” Casey explained “There is something else. But I don’t know if it would be him but when I was still living with Khivar his servants and soldiers and stuff called him Sandman”

“Well that just makes things interesting now don’t it” Alec pointed out

“Right so we attack tomorrow night in the mean time we act normal. That includes opening the bar tonight. In the mean time I’ll go see Kyle get us a few weapons” Liz stated

“I brought my computers with me I can see if I can get some background information on Sandman” Logan offered

“That would be good” Maria pointed out

“You wanna come for a drive?” Liz asked Alec who nodded and soon they were on their way to see Kyle.

“Liz your back” Kyle said when he opened the door and pulled Liz into a hug.

“Yeah, I’m okay. This is Alec” Liz said introducing the two, noticing the glare on Alec’s face

“So dare I ask what weapons you need and why?” Kyle asked

“What this can’t be a social visit?” Liz asked. Kyle just looked at her “Okay so a few hand guns and plenty of ammo”

Kyle chuckled “Wait here”

“Who is this guy and can he be trusted?” Alec asked

“Awe are you jealous?” Liz cooed

“No!”

Liz laughed “Yes”

“I am not”

“Kyle is an ex boyfriend. He works for the CIA and has a large amount of fire power” Liz explained leaning up to kiss Alec. Liz pulled away when she heard Kyle returning “You’re cute when you are jealous” She whispered right when Kyle re-opened the door so Alec wouldn’t have time to reply

“This should be enough” Kyle said handing her a large box

“Thanks Kyle. I promise after this we’ll visit just for the hell of it” Liz said

“See you later Liz” Kyle headed inside and shut the door

When Liz and Alec got back to the apartment everyone was crowded around Logan’s computer.

“Guys what's going on?” Liz asked

“Logan hacked into the Chimaira security system. Sandman just turned up” Max explained

“Chica” Maria had been crying

“Ria what is it?” Liz asked running over and pulling her friend into a hug

Liz heard sketch from behind her “Sandman is Khivar”

“Great more fucking aliens” Liz muttered

“Chica they’re back” Maria sobbed “Everything was going good but now they’re back”

“What?” Liz asked dreading the answer

“Max, Michael and Isabel are back” Zack said from behind her

Everyone watched Liz waiting for her reaction. She stayed silent for the moment leaning into Alec’s strong arms as he hugged her.

“The girl seems to be some sort of slave or something” Max said sounding disgusted as she watched the screen “And the guys, they’re buddying up to sandman. They seem like pals”

As Max said this Liz felt her anger boil “Well then we attack tonight, if they try anything out of the ordinary…shoot to kill”

Part 16

"Liz, are you serious?" Maria asked "I don't think I can kill them" she pointed out

"That's fine" Liz said pausing for a moment to think. "Right Logan you are excellent with computers we will need you to hack into the mainframe and to help get us clearance inside"

"I'll get right on it" Logan said happy that he could be of some assistance.

"I'll also need you to loop some security footage so that Maria and Zack can let the transgenics out."

Maria and Zack nodded their head in understanding.

"Max you find Lydecker. Make him pay and make sure it hurts"

"Is it fair on everyone else that I get the fun job" Max asked with a smile

"Meanwhile I'll go after Khivar"

"What about me?" Both Casey and Alec asked

"Guys I can't ask you to come along. This is our fight, I am not going to put you in danger because we hold a grudge" Liz explained

"Khivar is my father! I may not want to be face to face with fuck but I am certainly helping you guys" Casey stated with his voice rising in Volume

"Okay fine, you can help Maria and Zack then" Liz said sounding very annoyed before turning to go into her room. Seconds later Alec joined her

"Hey"

"What?" Liz asked with her back to Alec

Alec walked up behind Liz and turned her around to face him. "Look I know this is hard for you, seeing Michael again and Learning that he is now friends with the freak who created us" He began.

He raised his hand to her chin and gently pulled her face up until she was looking him in the eyes. Liz had tears slowly trickling down her face.

"You’re not doing this alone" Alec whispered "I am going with you. Hell I'll take another bullet for you if I have to" He leant down and kissed Liz, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her against him

"Are you sure?" Liz asked moments later

"Maybe I'm confused are you trying to get rid of me now that your ex is in town?" Alec asked with a small smirk on his face.

"NO!" Liz said before she realized he was kidding

"Good because it is going to take a lot more than a mullet to get rid of me"

Liz chuckled as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into a hug. Alec still had his arms around her waist and the stayed that way for what seemed like ages until Maria knocked on the door

"Uh Chica, Logan's got blue prints and we are just planning the directions and stuff"

"Okay Ria we'll be right out" Liz said

"Come on if we are gonna be getting this Khivar guy we will need to know where we're going"

"Thank you" Liz stated as they made their way out to where everyone else was gathered around Logan's computer

Max Michael and Khivar were seated in what appeared to be an office. After a moment a very depressed looking Isabel entered carrying a tray of drinks.

No one could hear what they were saying but Isabel said something before Max got up and hit her with the back of his hand. Liz heard Maria gasp as they watched Max and Michael burst out laughing as Isabel clutched her face and ran out of the room.

"Logan is there anyway they could know that we are watching them?" Zack asked through clenched teeth

"No"

Zack turned to Liz "Kill them or I will" He stated

Liz, who was resting her head against Alec's chest, simply nodded

They waited until the sun had set before heading out to a spot near the old military base.

Every one had helped Logan get set up in an old van so that he could loop the security feed in any of the corridors Maria Zack Max and Casey would be going down. Once he had recorded enough footage to loop, the four of them headed in the direction of the sleeping quarters.

“You ready Liz?” Alec asked

Liz grabbed two of the hand guns before silently nodding and beginning to walk towards the fence. Once there Liz and Alec jumped the fence easily before stealthily making their way towards the main building.

Surprisingly they made their way to what they presumed to be the corridor that Khivar’s office was on with out any trouble. However there were three guards outside his office.

“You ready to kick some ass?” Liz whispered with a smirk as she secured the guns in her belt.

Alec chuckled. They rounded the corner and the guards went to take their guns out of their holsters but Liz ran up to one of them and kicked his hand to the side. One of the other guards hit Liz in the jaw only causing her to get angry.

Jumping in the air Liz Kicked them both in the head before slamming the first agents head into the wall causing him to become unconscious. Liz screamed when a hand grabbed her hair from behind and pulled her back wards.

Alec, after knocking out his first agent turned to the one holding Liz and pulled out his gung and held it to the back of the agents head.

“Let her go. Now!” He warned the agent

The agent slowly let go and began to raise his hands to put behind his head. However the second he had let go of Liz she turned around and hit him as hard as she could, causing his nose to break. Alec pistol whipped him in the back of the head and the guard fell to the floor

“Hey you okay?” Alec asked Liz cupping her face in his hands

“Yeah, I’m fine let’s just get this over with” Liz nodded before they opened the door and crept inside.

Khivar’s office was huge compared to the other offices in the complex and they saw that behind the desk there was a door leading elsewhere. Moments later it opened and Alec and Liz pointed there guns in the direction.

“There are four guards outside my door Rath I hardly think those two will get inside”

“Guess again” Liz spat, as Khivar Max and Michael emerged from the door

“Liz, nice to see you again” Michael said smugly

“Don’t gimme that shit, Michael” she hissed

“I am not Michael, I am Rath” He replied “But it is time now for you to give me those guns” He said closing his eyes

“I don’t know what you’re doing but they do have toilets in this place” Alec stated looking at Rath as he concentrated

“Don’t bother Rath; a transgenics mind cannot be altered. I clever trait I ensured they would have, something I am regretting now though” Khivar pointed out as his voice took on a serious tone.

“Speaking of which” Liz began “What's the go with the lack of junk DNA?”

“What?” Khivar questioned evilly

“You heard" Liz hissed

Khivar stopped to think about how best to answer the question when the door opened again and a solemn looking Isabel entered the room.

"Your coffee" she sighed, before looking up and realizing what was going on "Liz!" she stammered, dropping the tray of beverages

"You must be punished" Khivar said as he raised his hand towards Isabel.

Liz watched as Isabel clutched at her throat with a mixed look of pain and terror on her face. She began to turn blue when Liz decided to put a stop to it. She only needed to move her aim slightly before she shot Khivar in the hand.

Isabel collapsed to the ground gasping for air as Khivar clutched his hand in pain.

"That might have caused pain you little wench. But you forget that I have a heeler as one of my right hand men" Khivar said with a smirk as Max and Michael chuckled.

Khivar waved his hand in front of Max. Max raised his hand over the bullet wound but before he could heal the wound, Liz fired her gun again.

Max fell to the ground and Khivar watched as blood began to flow from a wound in his forehead.

"You bitch" Michael hissed "I'll kill you" He threatened before sending a blast towards Alec knocking him against a nearby wall.

Michael stormed over to Liz and even with her transgenic senses was to slow to block his fist as it connected with the side of her face.

Liz swung back but missed before being punched in the stomach so that he went flying backwards until her back came into contact with a wall.

Michael yanked Liz upwards by her hair and smashed her head face first into the wall. Then there was the sound of a gun going off.

Liz had suffered a gash above her eyebrow which was bleeding down the side of her face. She struggled to see what had happened and saw Isabel drop the gun. Looking in the opposite direction she saw Michael lying on the ground, dead.

Khivar went over to Isabel and kicked her hard in the face before turning to Liz "Don't think you have won" he warned "Say good bye to your friend" He chuckled

Liz heard Alec moan in pain from behind her and looked up to see Khivar point the gun at him.

"Don't" Liz struggled to stand

"What you don't want me to shoot him?" Khivar mocked "Or is he more than a friend?"

"Why don't we have any junk DNA?" She demanded

"You two are the ones?" Khivar chuckled "Don't think you are anything special. I wanted to create the perfect human, and I created two. However you can still get injured and die, just like the rest of us"

Khivar raised the gun again and Liz used the last of her strength to charge at him. She successfully knocked the gun out of his hands but was backhanded before there was a large blue light.

Liz closed her eyes due to the brightness and when she opened her eyes again Khivar was gone.

"Good timing as always" Liz heard Casey say from the doorway.

"Alec" Liz mumbled as she fell to her knees and crawled over to Alec

His torso and right arm were burned from Michael's blast but Liz breathed a sigh of relief when she found a pulse.

Liz heard Isabel crawl over and watched as Isabel healed Alec "I'm sorry I couldn't be of more assistance" Isabel muttered before passing out.

"Guys come on Maria and Max are back in the tru- Holy Shit!" Zack said as he entered

"Liz"

"Sshh Alec I'm here we're okay" Liz said, pulling him into a hug. Alec wrapped his arms around her and squeezed her tight as if she might disappear if he let go.

"Come on we gotta get out of here" She said helping him up

"Isabel?" Zack whispered

"She's alive. Can you carry her?" Liz asked Zack "Okay stupid question of course you can" She said as he picked her up easily.

"Let’s get out of here" Liz said as the four of them made their way back to the truck.

Part 17

"Casey" Maria gasped as she ran up and hugged him relieved to see he was okay

"Drive" Liz yelled to Logan as they shut the doors once everyone was inside

"Liz, what happened?" Maria asked

"Isabel healed Alec after Khivar kicked her in the face" Liz explained refusing to move from Alec’s embrace

"Shit" Maria said

"You okay?" Alec whispered

Rather than answering him Liz leant in and kissed him slowly but passionately. "I'm fine"

They all sat in silence until they pulled up in front of the crash. Everyone headed inside, Zack carrying an unconscious Isabel.

Maria and Casey headed to bed as did Logan. Max, Liz Alec and Zack stayed in the lounge room waiting for Isabel to wake up.

Alec went to bed and Max went out onto the balcony to think to herself. About another half an hour later Isabel awoke with a gasp.

"Hey" She mumbled sitting up and looking down at the floor

"Isabel I want to say thank you. You healed Alec and I can't tell you how much that means to me" Liz said honestly

"I'm sorry for everything we put you through" Isabel said, still looking at her feet. "I don't have anything to pack so I'll just leave you guys alone" She got up and headed for the door

"Does she really want to leave?" Zack asked

"She's had three years of people making her feel like shit. She thinks she doesn't deserve to be here.... go on" Liz said gesturing at the door

Zack got up and ran downstairs and caught Isabel on her way to the back door.

"Iz wait" he said gently grabbing her arm "Where are you going?"

"I don't know... I'll find something"

"Stay" Zack pleaded

"I don't belong, I mean...Well look me" Isabel said getting up enough courage to look him in the eyes, something Khivar would have hit her for.

But when she looked into Zack's eyes she saw something she had not seen in a long time.

"Look at what?" he asked inching closer "You're a princess who was treated like shit for three years. But you're still as beautiful as the last time I saw you"

Isabel opened her mouth to say something but closed it again when no words came out. Zack chose that moment to close the distance between them and press his lips to hers.

He kissed her gently as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close.

"Stay" he whispered leaning his forehead on hers

Isabel slowly nodded and Zack held her hand and led her back upstairs.

"Glad you're back Iz" Liz stated honestly

~A week later~

Max and Logan were getting read to head back to Seattle.

"Hey Zack can you give Logan a hand with his computers? You know I can't" Max requested as they were loading up the truck.

"Why can't you?" Isabel asked

"There is a thing in my blood that makes Logan sick if we touch"

"Why didn't you say something sooner?"

"What do you mean?" Max asked, confused

"Come with me" Isabel said taking her hand

Isabel led Max towards Logan and grabbed his hand. Closing her eyes she concentrated for a moment before placing Max's hand in Logan’s

"Hey don't...I'm not getting sick" Logan said obviously shocked

"It's cured you guys can touch all you want...Just not in front of everyone"

Max hugged Logan and then pulled away expecting a reaction, but there was none. They wrapped their arms around each other and began kissing when Liz and Alec joined everyone outside of the crash

"I didn’t think they could do that?" Alec stated

"Iz fixed it" Zack said as he snuck up from behind and wrapped his arms around Isabel

"Nice going Isabel" Liz said patting her on the arm

"Okay well we are gonna get going" Max said gripping Logan’s hand "It was great seeing you guys again Max said hugging Maria, Liz and Zack.”And meeting all you guys" She said to Alec, Casey and Isabel

"Don't worry you'll be back in a few months" Liz said

"Why's that?" Logan asked

"Well you know that Alec and I went to dinner last night but uh that’s not all we did" Liz said holding up her left hand for everyone to see.

On her ring finger there was an engagement ring.

"Chica!" Maria said launching her self at Liz's hand and looking at the ring

"You said a few months, we have start planning and getting everything ready" Isabel stated

"You ring me before the hens night girl" Max said and winked before they all said there goodbyes.

Max and Logan drove away

“What's the bet they pull into the nearest motel” Casey laughed, as did everyone else as they headed inside

"So everything worked out huh?' Alec said pulling Liz close

"Well I kinda had my eye on the blonde x-7 but you'll do" Liz teased running inside

Alec caught her moments later and pinned her against a wall.

"So an X-7 huh?"

Liz pretended to think about it for a moment when Alec started tickling her

“Stop, stop!” she pleaded trying to grab his hands

She eventually gave up trying to grab his hands and instead grabbed his face and leant in to kiss him.

“I love you” Liz said moments later

"I love you too" Alec said leaning in to kiss Liz tenderly.
