Part 11

“You okay Liz?” Alex asked

“What about you guys, do you not trust Zan as well?” She asked everyone

“Of course we do Liz you say he is okay and you have known him for longer than ten minutes. Don’t worry about Kyle” Alex replied

Liz sighed “I am gonna get some sleep” Liz said before sulking her way up to bed.

The next day at school Maria and Ava walked up to Liz who was getting some books out of her locker.

“Hey Liz how are you feeling?” Ava asked

“Well I spoke to Kyle. We cleared things up a bit. Apparently I am too much of a rebel and he can’t handle it…or it bugs him…I dunno either way if I do anything really crazy today like hit me or something”

“What are you talking about?” Ava asked

“Well, I dunno maybe it is time I calmed down a bit”

“You have GOT to be fucking kidding me!” Maria practically shouted

“What!?”

“Screw Kyle Liz” Maria began “Relationships are about trust. Did you not noticed how the second you asked Zan to work his magic he did. He didn’t care that we were all in the room he did because you asked him to. You crammed the fact that Zan was trust worthy down Kyle’s throat and he still wouldn’t believe you. I swear to god girl if you calm down because Kyle is a pussy I will hex you or something”

“Whoah” Ava stated

“Uh I don’t know quite what to say to that” Liz muttered

“Besides Zan is better looking than Kyle anyway”

“Maria what does that have to do with anything?” Liz asked

“Well see when he first got here on his bike yesterday I thought I would have a go but even I didn’t miss the way he looks at you”

“Maria we have been best friends since we were six years old”

“Who gives a shit the boy has it bad” Maria stated with a roll of her eyes

“No… he” Liz stopped. Surely not, this was Zan after all.

“Don’t forget I am an empath Liz” Ava stated with a smirk

“I am getting a serious dislike for your power” Liz mumbled when Alex came walking up

“Hey Liz, message from your old man. Kyle isn’t your white lighter any more just me”

“Oh okay… well there you go”

“Anyway Liz so now that you know about Zan the big question is how do you feel about him?”

“I don’t know” Liz said honestly

“Do you want me to check for you” Ava offered

“Ava you’re my sister, I care about you and all that. But stay the fuck out of my head” Liz said with a chuckle

“Omigod” Maria breathed

“What?” Liz asked her flabbergasted sister

“Well Zan is a metal head Max, but there is a metal head Michael”

“Huh?” Liz questioned turning around to see Rath coming down the hallway “Rath of course! God it didn’t even click he was like Michael” Liz muttered

“Well if he is in love with you as well I am gonna be one pissed off little witch” Maria stated

“Well if it isn’t a walking talking mullet” Liz stated raising her voice slightly.

Rath looked around and smirked when he saw Liz “I’d remember what happened last time you said I had a mullet parker”

“Yeah, yeah. These are my sisters Ava and Maria” Liz said

“Since when do you have sisters?” He asked half giving her a high five and half shaking her hand

“Since always. Did Rory come with ya?” Liz asked

“Yeah. We finally made it. See she was driving and given the amount of fricken beamers in Roswell she was driving at like 20 miles an hour. Anyway she saw my look alike and went to investigate even after Zan mentioned he was no good” Rath explained

“You saw Zan?” Liz questioned a little to eagerly

“Yeah he was headin over to a music room or something I dunno” Rath shrugged his shoulders.

“That’s perfect!!” Maria screeched before grabbing Rath’s arm “You come with me I’ll explain on the way we gotta find Zan” she said hurriedly before pulling him away

“What was all that about?” Ava asked

“No idea. But for some reason I am very scared” Liz said as she and Ava headed off to their next class

That night Liz and Ava were in the attic sorting through ingredients in an effort to prepare a potion which would vanquish Nicholas.

Okay so all we need to do now is get Maria summon Nicholas, throw this and chant this” Ava said pointing to a small red vial and a spell in the book

“Yep. Wherever Maria is. I haven’t seen her since she disappeared with Rath” Liz mumbled

“Is he trustable?” Ava asked

“Yeah, strange… but trustable” Liz nodded when they heard some heavy music start up from outside.

They ran out of the attic and headed out side to see Alex, Zan Maria and Rath performing. Alex was playing the bass while Rath drummed, Zan and Maria played the guitar.

Ava took a few steps backwards and sat on the front steps. Liz, who recognized the song, froze.

Zan began singing with a serious look on his face, his gaze never leaving Liz’s………

Zan began singing, his gaze never leaving Liz’s “…I said so please don’t change because you’re perfect to me”

Liz’s eyes began to water as Zan continued to sing for her “and who you are is who you are and you don’t have to be like someone else”

A few minutes later they song finished song and Alex orbed everyone except for Liz and Zan inside. Liz opened her mouth a few times to say something but no words came out.

“Maria told me what dickweed said and what you were planning to do so I uh thought I’d-”

“So you decided to serenade me” Liz said with a chuckle as her eyes continued to water

“Well I thought we sounded good but if we were that bad that you’re crying I promise we won’t do it again” Zan said as he closed the distance between them and pushed a stray piece of hair behind Liz’s ear.

“Why though?” Liz asked

“I have always loved you” He whispered as he inched his lips closer

“Ah Zan, that was touching. Now say goodbye” A voice said from behind Liz.

They turned to see Nicholas standing there with a smirk on his face.

Part 12

Zan moved so that he was standing between Nicholas and Liz. He raised his hand and sent a blast towards Nicholas however it never hit him.

Nicholas chuckled evilly. "Don’t bother Zan. i have both of you surrounded so none of your powers will work. Mine however will" he finished and sent what looked like a lightning bolt towards Zan causing him to wail in pain.

"Zan!" Liz cried

Nicholas stopped electrocuting him to ask "Where is the granolith?"

"I don't know!"

Liz closed her eyes and concentrated on Ava and Maria. When she opened them again she as inside her house watching them.

"Hey Liz, you okay you look scared" Ava stated

"What?! You can see me?"

Ava opened her mouth to reply but was cut off by Liz

"I'll explain later, get Maria the potion and the spell and go out the front. Nicholas is hurting Z-ARGH!" Liz fell to her knees screaming before she found herself back outside

"For fucks sake Nicholas! I don't know where the granolith is, stop hurting her!!"

Liz groaned in pain before struggling to get up. At that moment there was a pop sound as Ava threw the potion at him and began to read the spell along with Maria.

Liz felt dizzy she was on the verge of passing out but when she heard Ava and Maria she began to recite the spell as well.

"What are you doing?" Nicholas demanded but after a few moments he burst into flames before disintegrating.

That was the last thing Liz saw before she let darkness overtake her.

"Liz!" Zan rushed to her side and picked up her limp body

"Zan bring her inside to Alex let him heal her" Maria said

"I can-"

"Alex won't loose energy" Ava argued and Zan had no choice but to agree and he carried her quickly but carefully inside the house.

“Heal her man!” Zan said before he had even placed her on the couch

Alex placed his hands above Liz and a glow was emitted. Moments later Liz groggily sat up clutching at her head. “Uh major lightning hang over” Liz stated

“Apart from that you okay?” Maria asked

“Yeah I’ll be okay. Um where’s Zan?” Liz asked looking around

“He’s…Gone” Alex said looking around

“I gotta find him” Liz said getting up and getting a jumper to wear.

“Liz he has probably just gone for a walk” Ava started

“I have known Zan ever since I was like six or seven years old. He’ll blame himself for me getting hurt. I have to find him”

“Liz, at least scry for him first get a rough idea where he is headed” Maria suggested

“Fine” Liz said orbing herself upstairs to the attic.

Orbing back moments later she picked up her car keys, “He’s gone out to the pod chamber. I’ll see you guys tomorrow” Liz said as she left.

She was back inside moments later “Screw it I’ll orb”

Liz looked around the rock mound and realized that Zan hadn’t arrived yet and she headed down to meet him at the bottom.

She didn’t have to wait long as he pulled up moments later. “Zan”

“Huh?! Oh Liz, what are you doing here?” Zan asked quietly

“Why did you leave?” She asked taking a step closer to him

“I’ve been here a couple of days and I already got you electrocuted-”

“Zan stop, that wasn’t your fault”

“It was Liz, he wanted the granolith-”

“For the source!! He is trying to get more power so his boss can kill me Ava and Maria. They would be coming after us even if you and I had never met” Liz reasoned walking closer to him “Do I have to sing for you?” Liz teased

“No! I’m okay” Zan said as he straightened up

“Hey! I’m not that bad” Liz said playfully pushing him

“Yeah you are sweets, you know I love ya but please don’t sing”

“Oh really” Liz said taking a deep breath. Zan wrapped his arms around her and she struggled causing them to fall backwards. Liz concentrated and orbed the both of them into her bedroom onto her bed.

“Now that is a neat trick” Zan pointed out pushing some stray hair behind her ear “I love you, Liz”

“I love you too” Liz whispered, giggling at the slightly shocked look on Zan’s face. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down slowly to kiss him.

“Liz” Ava called knocking on her door

Liz tried to sit up but Zan’s arm was still wrapped around her waist from the night before. She maneuvered her way out of his grip and exited her room.

“Hey what’s up?”

“We were just scrying for you to try and find out where you were”

“Here I am numb nuts” Liz quipped

“Ha ha, funny. You coming to school today?” Ava asked with a roll of her eyes

“Yeah, yeah hang on I’ll go get Zan up”

“Zan stayed the night?” Ava asked playfully

“Oh shut up nothing happened”

“O Really”

“Nothing happened yet anyway” Liz replied with a wink “I’ll see ya down stairs”

Later that day Liz was standing by her locker when she was approached by Max

“Can I help you Max?” Liz asked

“We need to talk”

“About what?”

“This whole Zan business” Max pointed out

“What me business” Zan asked as he came up behind Liz and wrapped his arms around her waist

“Uh” Max stuttered

“Max, Zan, Zan, Max” Liz said with a smirk “Now what is it you wanted to talk about?” Liz asked

“Uh I was going to say don’t go around talking about Zan, before he came here. But seeing as though you are here, be careful, there a people who want the granolith and who want us dead”

“The granolith is in a safe place and the skins we can take care of” Zan stated

“There are many other things who want to see us dead. There is a demon named Nicholas”

“He’s dead Max” Liz said cutting him off

“What he attacked us last night and we killed him” she explained

“What!” Max yelled getting stares from other people in the hallway. “What do you mean he attacked? And who’s we?”

“Me and my sisters. Look the school hallway isn’t exactly a good place to be talking about this. Come over tonight, alone”

“Why alone?”

“I don’t trust Michael or Isabel at all” She pointed out

“Okay, uh about eight?”

“Eight’s good. Oh and Max” Liz said before he left “There are ways I can see if you a trustworthy or not, if you try anything, I won’t hesitate to hurt you”

“You’re hot when you’re threatening people you know that?” Zan whispered into her ear

“I do now” Liz said as she turned around to kiss Zan.

The underworld

“I knew I should have sent Nicholas!!” A furious Balthezor roared blowing up one of his servants

“What are you going to do now my lord?” The remaining demon questioned

“Now?” Balthezor repeated before morphing into its human form “I have school” Balthezor said with a smirk before shimmering out of the room and into a secluded spot inside West Roswell High.
