Chapter 8

Lagoon, The Island, 12:45

Instead of indulging their carnal desires the minute they hit the beach they just stripped down to their underwear and lay under the baking sun. There would be plenty of time for Liz to conduct her experimenting later but they had a hell of a night and just wanted to rest. Thanks to Isabel’s powers and experience of laying out in the sun over the years none of them would get sunburned.

“This is great.” Isabel said

Alex and Liz looked over to her and smiled. The pair watched as a bead of sweat ran down the swell of her breast and rested in her cleavage.

“You can say that again.” Alex stated, causing Isabel to smile. Her eyes may have been closed but she knew where her lover was staring.

Max on the other hand never moved. He was on the other side of Liz, lying on his front as he looked out over the massive expanse of ocean.

“Do you guys think about what it would be like when we’re back home?” Max asked as he moved up and onto his back, looking over Liz’s body.

“Of course.” Liz said, “Why, is something bothering you?”

“I’m not sure. It definitely wont be like old times.” Max said

“Hmm…Skins are being hunted, no need to worry about the government and our families know. I like it more and more every time I think about it.” Isabel said as she rolled onto her back and undid her bra strap.

“We still need to hide from everyone else though.” Alex said as he gazed over the flawless skin of Isabel’s back

“Yeah, at least that we’ll be able to do without too much worry.” Liz said, “But I hate the fact we’ll have something else to hide from our parents.”

Max looked over to Liz and thought for a moment and then realised what she was talking about. “Well somehow I think that we would be keeping the fact we’re having sex from them anyway.”

“Besides, if we wanted to be together we could just tell them we’re having a girls night.” Isabel said with a sly smile and then kissed Liz’s shoulder, Max watching the interaction closely. Isabel then turned over, keeping her arm across her chest so that her bra wouldn’t fall way until she fastened it. “I’m up for a swim, anyone want to come?”

“Yeah I could do with a cool down.” Liz said and then the two girls ran off to the water.

Max and Alex sat up and just watched the butt’s of their girls as they ran and then started splashing water on each other.

“Max.” Alex said softly

“Yeah?”

“I know a brother doesn’t want to hear this but I am really in love with Isabel.” Alex said confidently

“I know and I know that she smiles a lot more than she did before you were brought in on our little circle.” Max said, “I’m glad that she found someone who makes her happy but if you hurt her…”

“I know, I know.” Alex interrupted, “And the same goes with you and Liz, the two of us grew up together. She and Maria are the closest things I have to sisters.”

“No problem man. At least now I know that most of the things over the last year or so that’s come between Liz and myself was not completely our fault.” Max said

“Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t it you that kissed Tess when she first turned up?” Alex said

“Yeah.” Max said sadly, “But she…or Serena…which ever one it was, was using mindwarps to influence me.”

“Yeah I know, but it still hurt Liz. I’m glad you two were able to get by all of that crap.” Alex said as they watched the antics of the girls.

In the Water…

“Are they still watching?” Liz asked

Isabel angled herself to look and nodded, “Oh yeah.” She said

“Wanna play?” Liz asked with a grin

“Hmmm…what happened to that sweet innocent girl my brother had a crush on?” Isabel asked

“Now apart of that is for the two of us to make love not for me and Alex, not for Kyle and Maria, not for Michael and Tess and not for you and Max. How can we be completely open with each other if we can’t even be naked in front of everyone on this island and enjoy ourselves in front of the others? Knowing what happens is completely different from accepting it.” Liz said as she trailed the underside of Isabel’s tits.

“Hey what happen…” Maria started to say but the others just left

“Later. You guys just go back to whatever you were doing.” They heard Alex call down the hall.

“Uhhhh…lets go get the guys. We should probably wait to find out what’s going on.” Maria said

“Yeah.” Tess agreed as she looked concerned and then both went off in search of Michael and Kyle.

Observation Room, Alpha 1, Immediately Following

“I don’t get it. How does a human know more about how we do things than the actual hybrids?” One of the observers on duty said

“Its just instinct. Nothing major.” His colleague said

“What’s going on?” Kalen asked as he came up behind them

“Sir…the human, Liz. She was with Isabel in front of Max and Isabel is now having…issues.”

“Okay number 1, that human is our future queen. Number 2, I wanted to be informed of anything major like this.” Kalen said

“Sorry Commander, but it did just happen. Isabel is in her room right now with Alex, Max and Liz outside in the hallway.”

“Well it looks like I’ve got more talking to do.” Kalen said, “Transport them to the waiting room…might as well make them comfortable.”

“Yes sir.”

Waiting Room, A Few Minutes Later

All of a sudden the quartet materialised in the room and quickly looked around, all still wearing nothing but their underwear and Isabel had put her bra back on.

“I really hate it when that happens.” Max stated as he realised where he was, “Kalen.” he called out

“I’m here, I’m here.” Kalen said, as the door opened, “Liz, you really shouldn’t have done that. Never force an encounter it always has to be free with no coercion.”

“Yeah…I’m kind of getting that.” Liz said sadly as she looked at Isabel

“Okay, I’ll bite. Why are we here?” Alex asked

“Liz?” Kalen asked, “Why did you do this?”

“I…wanted…I wanted Max and Isabel to be completely open with each other.” Liz answered

“Why?”

“I wanted Max to see what Isabel and I did together. In the future, if I’m with either one of them I didn’t want the other to walk into the room, see what was happening and then just leave. I want them to be able to look each other in the eye all the time, no matter what I do with them.” Liz said honestly

Kalen smiled and nodded before turning to Isabel. “Isabel, why did you leave?”

Isabel just looked up at him with disbelief. “Are you kidding? Liz made me…you know…in front of Max.”

“Yes I believe that is what happened but that isn’t why you left.” Kalen simply stated

“What are you…” Isabel started to say

“Isabel, please be honest. The reason you ran was because you liked it. You liked Max knowing what his lover was doing to you; you liked being that open with him and the others. Now due to the fact you were raised as a human this causes problems for you.”

Alex was now sitting next to Isabel, taking her hand in his.

“I take it sex is different for Antarians?” Alex asked

“Well for the most part it is similar but we don’t have many hang-ups about it. Antarians are completely open with each other. Nothing is taken, it has to be completely given freely…we never even had a word for rape until we encountered your race. Mating is not like it is here on Earth, yes there is the pleasure aspect but for us it’s exposed to everyone and is rarely shied away from.”

“So a couple could get hot and heavy in a crowded street?” Max asked with disbelief

“No.” Kalen said while shaking his head, “There are still a few…etiquette rules. Privacy is still preferred but it’s not uncommon for family members or close friends to walk into the room. There is no embarrassment or regret, knowing and seeing the relations of our families are completely normal.”

“So having sex in front of each other happens regularly?” Max asked

“Pretty much. I am surprised that it’s Liz that helped bridge the gap between the two of you…even though you aren’t completely there yet.” Kalen said before taking a moment. “The reason you are here is to bond yourselves together as well as making yourselves able to procreate. Knowing every aspect of each other, being a part and loving each other completely is necessary to make you into a tight family unit…it’s our way. Besides just remember this…Tess and Michael don’t seem to have a problem.”

“Tess and Michael aren’t related.” Isabel said

“What are you talking about…of course they are.” Kalen said, “Wait…you really meant that. You honestly don’t know.”

“You mean Michael and Tess are…” Liz started to said

“Well they’re not siblings but they are cousins…I don’t understand, surely Nasedo would have told her and then all of you when they showed up in Roswell.” Kalen said

Max and Isabel stood up and looked at each other before turning back to Kalen.

“They never told any of us about it.” Max said

“I don’t think Tess knows anything about it.” Isabel said as she crossed her arms

“Oh I’m gonna love this.” Alex said causing all four to smile and then he moved to beside Isabel. “Are you okay now?”

Isabel looked at Max and then Liz, “Cultural differences. I’ll get over it but…Kalen you were right I did like it. Knowing that Max has seen how I am with Liz and how she is with me…”

“I understand Isabel.” Kalen said

Max smiled and moved closer to Isabel and hugged his sister. “We’ve always been close Isabel…this just makes us closer.”

“Just don’t expect me to screw Alex in front of you.” Isabel joked

“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Max said and extended his arm toward Liz.

Liz looked at Isabel and the blonde nodded. Slowly she moved into Max’s arm and Alex moved into Isabel’s, resulting in a four-way hug. As they parted Isabel moved closer to Liz and held her, bending her head down to her ear. “Thank you…just don’t ever do that again.”

“I promise, not until you’re ready.” Liz said and then the two girls just gave each other a soft kiss.

Alex was standing beside Max as they watched their girlfriends grew even closer than they were before. “You got to admit, that is one of the most beautiful things we’ve ever seen.” Alex said

“No, it is the most beautiful. What we saw on the beach…that runs a close second.” Max said.

The girls separated and blushed as they turned to their boyfriends.

“So…who tells Michael and Tess?” Max asked

Liz jumped up. “I’ll cook breakfast, lunch and dinner for the rest of the week if you let it be me.”

The other three just looked at other.

“Liz.” Max said

“What? Can’t a girl have a little fun?” she said innocently

“How about we just play this by ear?” Alex suggested and the other’s nodded

“I think we better get sent back to our rooms first so we can dress.” Isabel said, realising she was barely covered by her underwear but then stopped and turned back to Kalen. “You’re not expecting us to go naked in front of each other are you?”

“No, not unless you’re completely at ease with it.” Kalen said drawing a look from Alex

“So some Antarian families are on the naturist side of things?” Alex asked

“Naturist?” Kalen asked, “Well no not really but as I said, families rarely have things to hide from each other including our bodies.”

“Okaaayyyy.” Isabel said, “Let’s get back to the island.”

The next thing they knew was that they were in their rooms. Isabel and Liz threw on light dresses while Max and Alex pulled on jeans and t-shirts. The girls walked down the halls to the common room after checking Tess and Maria’s bedroom.

“Please can I tell her?” Liz begged

“Liz, sweetie…you do know that some day soon she’s going to be in your bed.” Isabel said

“Yeah, I know.” Liz said dejectedly, “I just feel like I still owe her for all the crap Max and I went through.”

“Maybe you should let it go. I doubt you’ll ever know how much was down to her following Nasedo’s orders, how much she wanted to do and how much was down to Serena.” Isabel said softly

“I guess, it still doesn’t make it any easier.” Liz said as they reached the door to the common room.

When they opened the door the saw Max and Alex enter the room at the same time with their friends all sitting round the table.

“Hey guys.” Maria said cautiously, “What’s up?”

“Isabel, are you okay?” Tess asked, “You looked a little upset.”

“Upset doesn’t cover it but I’m okay now oh by the way you and Michael are cousins.” Isabel said quickly

“Hey I wanted to tell them.” Liz whined

Tess and Michael just stared blankly at them. “Could you say that again?” Michael asked

“Kalen told us that you two are cousins.” Liz said

Michael and Tell then looked at each other. “No, no way. Nasedo would have told me.” Tess said

“That’s what got Kalen confused. He thought we already knew and that Nasedo would have told us.” Max said

“Wow…cousins.” Michael said as he smiled but then lost it. “I had sex in front of my cousin.”

“Oh god.” Tess said but wasn’t was disgusted as she thought she would

“Believe me I know how you feel.” Isabel said

“But apparently it’s common for Antarians for that to happen.” Alex said

Kyle then smiled as he moved closer to Tess. “You have family Tess. Living flesh and blood.” He whispered

“Yeah, I do.” Tess said, perking up, “Hey cus.”

“Hey yourself. Now what about the sex thing.” Michael said a little agitated

Maria moved her chair closer to him. “Babe, you hardly ever see Laurie. Tess is your only other family. Chill. Get to know your cousin, then we’ll deal with the fact that she’s seen your dick sliding in and out of me and Kyle.”

“Oh god, don’t remind me.” Tess said

Over the next several hours the group just talked. They talked about everything from what happened on the beach and subsequent talk with Kalen to Tess’s life with Nasedo. By the time they were ready for bed each of them was much closer than they had ever been. Even Liz started to see a new side of Tess that she had never seen before when the blonde talked about everything Nasedo had put her through while teaching her about her powers.

Tess & Maria’s Bedroom, 22:00

Maria lay awake as her lover slept soundly beside her, breathing gently. Maria turned her head and looked at Tess, watching her face as she breathed and moved. She realised it yesterday as she kissed Tess while Michael was inside her. Maria wanted to tell her as they made love but she held back and now that the girl was a sleep she could say it without any recriminations.

“I love you.” Maria whispered before sinking down and falling to sleep.

When Tess felt Maria turn she opened her eyes and looked at the naked skin of her back. She was wide-awake for the last few hours, trying to find sleep but being unsuccessful. Tess had heard Maria soft declaration. A part of her heart jumped and was exhilarated but a part of her was concerned about what possible future they had.

Chapter 9

Maria/Tess’s Bedroom, The Island, 08:00

The two blondes woke up at the same time, their bodies pressed firmly against each other with their legs interlocked. Tess remembered what Maria had said to her while she thought she was sleeping and smiled but was still concerned about what Kyle and Michael would do. Gently she bent her head down and kissed Maria’s naked shoulder, eliciting a warm smile from the girl.

“Hey.” Maria said softly

“Hi. How’d you sleep?” Tess asked, her hand over Maria’s belly and started to rub it.

“Okay. A little problem getting there but…” Maria said as she caressed her lovers’ upper arm with the back of her hand.

“So what do you want to do today?” Tess asked

“I was thinking about spending some time with Liz, it’s been a while since I’ve really sat down and talked with her.” Maria said

“Yeah, come catch up time would be good for the two of you.” Tess said knowing that Maria needed to confide in her best friend before deciding what to do. “I think I might spend some time with Michael.”

“Oh getting to know your cousin?” Maria asked

Tess smiled brightly, “Yes. God, I still can’t believe it.”

“Believe what? That Michael is your cousin or the fact that you’ve screwed Kyle and me in front of him.” Maria enquired playfully

“Ehhhhh…both I think.” Tess said

“Both?”

“One or the other is definitely running a close second.” Tess said, trailing her finger between Maria’s breasts, “Come on lets get cleaned up.”

Both girls got out of bed and grabbed their robes before heading for the bathroom.

Liz/Isabel’s Bedroom, 30 Minutes Later

After Maria dressed herself in jeans and a tank top she headed off to her best friends bedroom. When she arrived Maria knocked the door and heard Liz beckon her in.

“Hey Maria.” Liz said as she sat in front of a mirror, brushing her damp hair.

“Hi Liz. How are you?” Maria asked carefully

Liz looked up at her friend after hearing her tone. “Fine.”

“Where’s Isabel?”

“She’s still in the shower…Maria, what’s up?” Liz said

Maria moved over and sat on the other chair next to her friend and looked down at the desk.

“Maria?”

“I’m in love with Tess.” Maria said just as the door opened and Isabel walked in causing both girls to look at her.

Isabel looked at them both, she heard load and clear what Maria had said. “I’ll come back later.”

“No, it’s okay. You might as well stay.” Maria said

Isabel moved further in to the room and sat on the bed. “So I didn’t mishear.”

“No. I’m in love with her.” Maria said causing Liz and Isabel to look at each other.

“Are you sure? It might be…” Liz said

“Liz, it’s not some fake emotional connection because we’ve been making love.” Maria said, “She makes me happy, she pisses me off. She knows what buttons to push and she can make me…well you know.”

“Yeah, we know.” Isabel said, “What about Michael?”

“Oh I still love him. Every day that I spend with him I think I love him more and, god help me, I think we’re going to be together for a very long time.” Maria said

“You need to tell her.” Liz said

“Probably after you tell Michael.” Isabel said, “You need to find out how much this is going to bother him before even trying a relationship with Tess and you can’t keep it a secret from him.”

“If this place has taught us anything its that we need to be completely open with each other.” Liz said as she took her friends hand

“Yeah but what’s the point. After we leave here it’ll be Michael I’m with, anything I have with Tess is going to be non existent.”

“Maybe with everyone else but we’ll know.” Isabel said as she moved up and put her hand on the other blondes shoulder

“You mean you wouldn’t mind?” Maria asked

“Why would we mind? As long as you, Tess, Michael and Kyle are all fine with it…” Liz said as she hugged the blonde, “Now, go find Michael and talk to him.”

“Uh…there is a slight issue.” Maria said

“What?” Isabel said as she sat back down

“Well…I’ve been thinking about what we need to do here, about me being with you Isabel.” Maria said

“What about being with me?” Isabel asked.

“I don’t want to do it.” Maria said plainly, “Ever time I think about it I feel like I’m going to be cheating on Tess and then I think about Tess being with Liz and I feel…”

“Jealous?” Liz asked

“Yeah.” Maria confirmed

“Well, you really don’t need to worry about that.” Liz said

Maria looked up at Liz sharply, “Why? What’s wrong with Tess?” she said quickly and with a slight prang of anger

Liz and Isabel looked at each other and then back at Maria.

“Sorry, I’m sorry Liz. I don’t know where that came from.” Maria said as she turned the chair around and put her forehead on the desk. “I’ve really mucked this up.”

“No sweetie, you haven’t.” Isabel said, “You’ve just given us something else to work through.”

“Yeah, if anything this can make us closer. Besides I still haven’t gotten over this Tess thing.” Liz said

“She really is sorry about all of that Liz. Of everything she did when she turned up and then everything Serena made her do.” Maria said

“I know. It’s just that every time I see her I see her and Max in that kiss.” Liz said as she tried to take the image from her mind.

“Maybe after you’ve spoken to Tess the four of us should sit down and talk. We all have issues, maybe its time we deal with them once and for all.” Isabel said, “But anyway, go…speak to Michael.”

“Yes ma’am.” Maria said as she stood up and left the room.

Liz stood up and sat on the bed next to Isabel and together they lay back.

“Well that was unexpected.” Liz said

“Tell me about it.” Isabel said

“How do you think Tess will react?” Liz asked

“I’m not sure, but now that I think about it…I think she might love Maria.” Isabel said

“Are you sure?”

“Well, no. It’s just little things, the way they are with each other, their openness with each other and the guys…” Isabel said

“I guess. I still can’t believe that she’s in love with Tess of all people.” Liz said

“Honey, you really need to get over this.” Isabel said

Liz turned her head, “Did you just call me honey?” she asked, causing Isabel’s face to become bright red.

“I…hey don’t change the subject. Liz this is serious, we’re here to bond. Now you and I have done great in that department but I’m looking forward to spending time with my nephew or niece and the only way that’s gonna happen is if you complete the change in you and be with Tess.” Isabel said

“A little selfish motivations there?” Liz said, “Just know that if Max and I ever have kids, you will not be spoiling them.”

“That’s where you’re wrong Liz. I’m so gonna spoil them and their mother as well.” Isabel said as she began to nibble on Liz’s ear.

“Hmmmm…don’t. Please or we’ll never get out of bed.” Liz said

“And your problem with that is?”

“Uhhhhhhh.” Liz struggled to find a reason, “Max.” she said quickly, “I promised I would teach him how to make pancakes.”

Isabel backed up from Liz and looked down at the brunette, “Liz, Max already knows how to make pancakes.”

Liz looked at Isabel. “But he said…that no good…”

“Got to admit, he certainly can come up with excuses to get you alone. Especially since you’ll have to go into that tight, confined space of a pantry with most of the ingredients on the top shelf out of your reach.” Isabel said with a grin

“He needs to be taught a lesson.” Liz said

“Hmm, a woman after my own mind.” Isabel said.

The two girls got up; Isabel changed out of her robe and got dressed as Liz waited for her. When both were ready they left to go in search of the king.

Michael/Kyle’s Room, Immediately Following

“General Masters, I’m Feln. Kalen said you were expecting me. This is Sheriff Valenti of Roswell.”

“Yes, I have to admit I was surprised that the military are involved with this.” Valenti said, “Given what happened with your man Pierce…”

“Pierce wasn’t one of our guys…or at least not anymore. He was a renegade who turned against his Unit’s mandate. Our policy has always been to stay away from the hybrids and hunt Skins.” Masters said

“Yeah, well they were all hold up in a nice little town call Copper Summit. Max and the others had to deal with them.” Valenti said

“Yes, I’ve been informed of that and you have my apologies.” Masters said, “However, we have work to do. Feln, my men and I have gone renegade ourselves in order to keep hunting the Skins. I’ve been ordered to stand down the unit and so have my counterparts around the world. What is going on?” he asked as the trio started walking through the base.

“The U.N. leaders are worried about our trade agreements. They think we might recall our scientists and cancel all joint projects if you continue to operate and risk the hybrids.” Feln said, “That wont happen…unless of course more of your Units start capturing my people.”

“No, that will not happen. The other Generals all understand that we need this alliance, or by the time we get out into space we’ll have enough enemies to wipe us out quickly.”

“Assuming they survive this virus.” Feln said, “Our last communication from Antar suggested that hostile species are also testing humans.”

“More aliens on Earth?” Valenti asked

“No.” Feln said

“Then how are they testing?” Masters asked

“They’ve been abducting your people over the years but there was a marked increase in ship activity around Earth lately. We think they’ve been taking people that won’t be missed…homeless, runaways and a few others here and there. Not enough to get attention.” Feln said as they entered the primary command room. “Impressive.”

“From here we can command every unit over the globe.” Masters said.

Around the room was screens filled with maps, troop positions and a ton of other information. In the middle of the room there was a large square table that showed an electronic map of the U.S., one that could access any satellite and display it on the table and show even the smallest detail of a particular area.

“I need to see an area. 50 mile radius with Roswell in the centre.” Feln said

The technician assigned to the table pressed a few buttons and the image zoomed in and showed Roswell with the specifications Feln requested.

“What’s the situation with your operative?” Masters enquired

“He last checked in 2 days ago. He reported that the Skin unit he was with was heading north to…about here.” Feln said as he indicated the area on the map. “He said that they were going to meet up with another unit…beyond that we don’t know much.”

“Well at some point they are going to want to get to Max and the others. So they’ll probably want to head to Roswell.” Valenti said, “They don’t know that they’ve been relocated to the island do they?”

“No that information is still secure.” Feln said

“And this Granolith?” Masters asked

“For the moment it’s safe. But it’s only a matter of time before Serena finds a way into the chamber.” Feln said

“Good.” Masters said as he turned his attention back to the map. “If the Skins are going to meet up then we need to be ready. If they separate we should have enough people ready to track the groups but if they stay together we could wipe them out with one shot.”

“Agreed. We’ll need to set a trap…an enclosed area where we can control the high ground.” Feln said

“Well there are a few areas like that…here, here and here.” Valenti said, “Box canyons mostly. There are also caves and…well…when the government tested its nukes out here they used a few caves that had been modified artificially.”

“Prefect. Their husks will protect them from the radiation in the caves but it’ll make their scanners useless. Where are the caves?” Feln asked, looking at the general.

“There are a few in the area but the deepest is this one right here.” Masters said while pointing to the map. “If we can get them in there we can wipe them out.”

“But the question is how do we get them there?” Feln asked

The others looked at the map and each other. The experienced soldiers couldn’t think of anything but Valenti, a small town Sheriff could.

“The Granolith.” Jim said, “We put the Granolith in the cave or make them think we did. If we can’t get to them on mass then we bring them to us.”

Command Centre, Eagle Rock, Immediately Following

“Are you insane?” Feln asked the sheriff. “We cannot expose the Granolith like that. If the Skins get their hands on it…they could regenerate their husks and live long enough to grow new ones.”

“If their husks are that far gone, why not just wait them out?” Masters asked

“They can still do a lot of damage before the husks are completely useless. Besides if Serena gets to it…” Jim said, “What about a replica? Can we make one up and get it to the caves?”

“I guess but it wont take the skins long to realise that it is a fake. They’ll have scanners that would detect the energy emissions from the Granolith.” Feln said and then thought for a moment. “I could put together something that could simulate the same pattern but it wont last long.”

“Well if the husks are that far gone the Skins might just all come running the second they detect it.” Masters said, “How long?”

“Well I can set up a signal in 3 hours, but to create a fake Granolith…a day at least.” Feln said

“Need help?” Jim asked

“I got it.” Feln said, “But I do need a place to work.” He asked the General

“Lieutenant.” Masters called

“Yes sir.”

“Take Feln to the work area on level 3.” Masters said before turning back to Feln, “It’ll have everything you need but if there is anything else the lieutenant will handle it.”

“Thank you general.” Feln said. He followed the lieutenant out of the command centre to the work area the general specified and went to work.

“You know Sheriff, I’ve read your file. Very impressive.” Masters said

“Thank you. And I apologise for my attitude before.” Valenti said

“No need. It’s perfectly understandable after what you and those kids have been through. I also apologise, my people should have kept tighter reigns on Pierce. We just never thought any of the agencies involved would go rouge.” Masters said, “We spent a lot of time hunting Skins and not looking for hybrids…at least some of our allies in other nations have been able to get things right.”

“Just how big is this thing?” Jim asked

“Ever since the Antarians made contact, the world has been coming together…a lot more than is public. From what I understand there are eight hybrids in 75 countries…at least there was eight in this one. We still don’t know what happened there.”

“Lonnie and Rath killed Zan and Ava’s on the run.” Jim said, drawing a look from the General. “They came to Roswell a while ago.”

“Well nice to know. At least we can update that file.” Masters joked, “Come on, lets get some coffee, then I’ll have someone take you home.”

“Thanks.” Jim said as he looked at his watch, “I didn’t realise how late it was.”

Hidden Cave, Reservoir, 22:00

“Omega Wave: Complete.” Kalen said as he bent his head and closed his eyes

“What’s an Omega Wave?” Michael asked

“It was what she had Alex working on while he was under her mindwarp.” Kalen said

Common Room, The Island, Midnight One Week Later

For the last week the young lovers have been sleeping with their seconds. “This is Kalen.” He said into his communicator, “The water we brought from Antar is at 78% of its normal condition. Another week or two and it should be ready for the ritual.”

“Copy that sir. 78%.” came a voice from the communicator.

Kalen stood up and left the room. As he went back into the common room he sealed the door and then went back to Alpha1.

On the Beach, The Island, 09:00 the Next Morning

Isabel had woken up to find Maria next to her, deep asleep and out for the count. The alien smiled at how much she wore her newest lover out. Slowly she slipped out of bed, kissed Maria’s cheek and went to find Max to see if they could talk. “I’ve been thinking about that. Liz’s parent’s won’t be too happy about it either or for that matter will Valenti, the Whitman’s or Ms Deluca.” Max said as the siblings approached an outcropping of rocks and sat down.

“And there is only one solution.” Isabel said, “I don’t like it.”

“We have to keep our other little relationships behind closed doors.” Max stated, “Nobody can know about them. As far is the world is concerned it’s just Liz and myself, you and Alex, Michael and Maria, and Kyle and Tess.”

“Yeah. I don’t like it. I want to be able to hold Liz’s hand in public if I want to, to do all the things I get to do with Alex and you get to do with her.” Isabel said

“But we can’t. Everyone would be watching us if we let it out.” Max said

“What about the Granolith?” Isabel said

“What about it?” Max asked

“When Kalen brought us here he said he used the Granolith to put false memories of the eight of us going to the dance. But he also said that he could have used it to make our parents more accepting of the alien thing.” Isabel explained

“You think it could work for us?” Max asked

“I don’t see why not.” Isabel said

“I’ll ask Kalen. I should probably wait until we’re ready to leave; he needs everything he got to be focused on hunting down Serena and the Skins. Worrying about our families lives when we get out of here isn’t going to be high on his priorities.” Max said

“I guess…so do you want to do the brother/sister thing now?” Isabel chuckled, lightening the mood.

Max smiled and looked at his sister. “Sure. What do you want to talk about?”

I’m in love with Alex but I am in love with Liz as well, your girlfriend and future wife. If you think either of us is going to have problems with any feelings you and Alex have then your nuts. Okay, I’ll let you mull that over for a while and then you can get back to me - end of topic.”

“End of topic.” Max said but he wanted to even the score with Isabel slightly. “So what about Maria?”

“What about her?” Isabel asked

“Have you and the others used the big bedroom that Kalen unlocked?” Max asked

Command Room, Alpha1, 10:00

“Sir…we’re receiving a signal from Antar.”

“Report.” Kalen said

“It’s from Lord Larek. The Quantum Probe has entered the Triloren system and is approaching the anomaly where the virus meteors are coming from.”

“It’s about damn time. They launched that thing 12 months ago.” Kalen said, “Hopefully this one will be able to get to the other side and show us what’s going on.”

“Sir, we’re picking up a relay signal from the probe…its approaching the event horizon of the anomaly.”

“Put it on the main screen.” Kalen ordered

The soldier pressed a view buttons and the live feed from the probe was put up on the screen. Everyone in the room gathered round and watched as the pictures grew closer and closer to the swirling mass of energy and cloud until it was engulfed. For minutes nobody could see anything but swirls of light but every so often the screen filled with static. Soon the pictures cleared but then a few seconds later there was a flash of light and then nothing.

The people in the room ran back to their stations, checking their equipment for system failure.

“Report.” Kalen ordered

“No failure at this end commander. The probe is no longer transmitting.”

“Replay the last 3 seconds of telemetry.” Kalen said and the soldier did as ordered. He pressed several buttons and the video feed started to rewind. “There. Hold.”

The picture froze just before the blast of light. Everyone stood and looked at the screen.

“My god.”

“What the hell…”

“There must be thousands…hell, that’s ten’s of thousands.”

“What the hell are they doing?”

Kalen looked at each of them. “They’re getting ready to invade, they’ve been getting ready for thousands of years.”

There on the screen, were thousands of alien ships of different sizes. Many were small fighters, others were cruisers but some were massive, nearly 20 miles across. Behind the ones that were seen were thousands more, going on forever until they looked like nothing more than stars. Kalen could only tell the difference between those ships and the stars due to the fact that they were moving.

“Sir, the configuration of those ships…there is nothing like them in the database.”

“What about those star patterns in the background? Is there anything you can match?” Kalen asked

“I can pick out three patterns but there is nothing even close. Where ever they are…it isn’t in this or any of the surrounding galaxies…wait…what the…”

“What is it?” Kalen asked

“Sir, it looks as though their side of the rift is in a quintuple white dwarf system, similar to our side but this area, when magnified and enhanced, looks like a neighbouring system with a green star.”

“Green?” Kalen said, “That’s impossible. There isn’t a star in this universe that’s green.”

“Sir…we’re picking up a signal from Lord Larek. His people are going to analyse the data and get back to us. We are to continue to proceed as normal.”

“Normal? Oh yeah that’s going to be easy…” Kalen then took a breath, “Okay, contact Feln and transmit a copy of the feed to him. Let him know what’s going on…he might as well let the humans know.”

“Yes sir.”

Royal Palace, Antar, 3 Hours Later

Carefully Kivar’s personal aide walked into the throne room where is master sat on the throne.

“My liege.” the aide said as he bowed

“What is it Phadran?” Kivar asked

“Lord Larek requests an audience my lord.” Phadran said

“Larek? He’s here?” Kivar asked, very surprised that Larek actually would have dared to come to Antar.

“Yes my lord.” Phadran said, “He awaits your word, he claims to bring news of the virus and requires your aid.”

“My aid?” Kivar chuckled, “Oh this I want to hear. Send him in.”

“Yes my lord.” Phadran said. He bowed and left to bring in Larek.

A few minutes later he returned, Larek marching in front of Phadran as the two entered.

“My liege, I present Lord Larek.” Phadran said and bowed as Kivar dismissed him

“Well, well. Lord Larek, I didn’t think I’d ever see you again in this hall.” Kivar said

“Lord Kivar.” Larek said, deliberately not addressing his fellow noble as king.

“I AM KING LAREK.” Kivar said loudly, “Accept it.”

“Our species doesn’t have a lot of life left to it Kivar. We are our last generation so I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for it. Zan, now Max Evans is our true king. Our culture and people will live on through the hybrids and their progeny…but that is not the reason I am here.” Larek said

“Why are you here?” Kivar asked, “My aide said you had news of this virus, judging from your words you don’t have a cure.”

“No. As no doubt you are aware my people were working on a probe designed to penetrate the anomaly.” Larek said

“Yes, you launched it several months ago.”

“Correct, the probe reached the anomaly this morning and as intended it penetrated the core.” Larek said

That got Kivar’s interest, ever since the virus arrived on Antar, its origins was one of the biggest mysteries and then the discovery of the anomaly from where the virus laden meteors came from and then that became the biggest.

“Did you get any information back from the probe?” Kivar asked

Larek removed a crystal from his pocket and moved over to a monitor on the wall. He inserted the crystal into a port and Kivar watched the information the probe sent back. Larek paused the pictures on the massive fleet that waited on the other side.

“Larek, I want my people to go over this…to ensure it hasn’t been altered in any way.” Kivar said

“Of course.” Larek said

Kivar called his aid over and gave him the crystal. He ordered Phadran to take it to his intelligence department and have them examine every aspect of the crystal and the data on it.

“Assuming that data is correct…what do you want from me?” Kivar asked

“Lord Kivar, our species and every other race in this and the galaxies we’ve explored have been infected with the virus. These aliens sent it. It’s obvious now that this is an attack, an attempt to soften us up for the primary invasion force.”

“Agreed.”

“Now where ever they come from, they either can’t get here through conventional hyper-travel technology or they’re really far away. For whatever reason, that anomaly is their link into this region of space. If we close that we might prevent the main invasion…at the very least delay it enough for the humans to advance their technology.” Larek said

“The humans? That pathetic species will eradicate themselves.” Kivar said

“The humans are the only race we’ve found who are immune. They are they only ones who can survive this, besides since making contact with them they have been coming together. It may be done behind the scenes and hidden from public eye but it is happening. With the D.N.A that will be introduced into their race from the hybrids they will advance a thousand years in 50.” Larek said

Kivar held himself back. He knew there was no point in arguing about the pollution of their genetics with human D.N.A, it had happened. It was up to his people on Earth to terminate the hybrids and their human counterparts. “You came to me for a reason Lord Larek? We’ve tried to close the anomaly in the past, it didn’t work.”

“The reason your still in power, the reason that the other nobles haven’t taken you out is that your military is 4 time stronger that all our other fleets combined. My people have been working on a method to close it…we believe that the anomaly in the Triloren star system formed because of the spatial conditions caused by the five white dwarf stars in the system. If those stars are destroyed we believe that the explosions would seal the rift.”

“As you said, my fleet is powerful. However, not even my forces have the firepower to destroy five stars.” Kivar said

“Mine do.” Larek said

Kivar looked at his enemy. “What?”

“I have a small stockpile of a particular weapon. Developed just after you took control. One missile could, theoretically, cause a star to collapse and then explode.” Larek said, “However, we don’t have the resources to get the missiles to the targets while under attack. It is conceivable that the aliens could know what’s happening on our side of the rift, they may have their own probe watching what we do in that system. If that is the case then…”

“Then they may launch an attack earlier than they planned.” Kivar said

“Yes, if they destroy my ships before they get close enough they may launch an invasion with their smaller ships and cruisers and wait for the rift to grow to a size that could handle their larger crafts. Their current plan is probably to send everything they’ve got in at one time.”

Kivar then smiled. An opportunity had presented itself and he was going to take it. “Well Larek, you appear to have a problem.”

Larek turned and looked at the false king with disbelief. “We have a problem. This fleet will take over everything.”

“Yes but by that time, we will be gone. So what’s my incentive?” Kivar asked

“What do you want Kivar?” Larek asked, regretting that he had to come here to get this thing’s help.

“Well the schematics to those weapons for one. As well as the termination of all hybrids on Earth and any human they have been in contact with.” Kivar demanded

“That’s unacceptable Kivar. Those hybrids are our future, our only method of stopping the virus. Our species is the only one even remotely compatible with the humans and even that requires the Ganderium. I will not sacrifice the future of our race.”

“Then we have nothing left to discuss. The hybrids are non negotiable.” Kivar said

Larek just gave Kivar a look of disgust and left, he would have to find some other way to protect his ships during the strike. When Kivar left he summoned his aide.

“Yes my liege?” Phadran asked

“Contact my generals. Put the military on high alert…you tell them to block any communication from Larek’s people.” Kivar ordered

“Yes sir.” Phadran said and then left.

Phadran’s Private Quarters, Antarian Royal Palace, 20 Minutes Later

When Phadran entered his room he locked the door and moved over to the wall by his bed. Slowly he ran his hand along the wall until he found the spot he was looking for, a place where his fingers slipped into the wall as though it wasn’t even there. He reached his hand inside and pulled it out when he found his hidden communicator.

“This is 325Antar. Do not respond, repeat do not respond. I’m up linking information obtained from Larek. Kivar does not want you to know.” Phadran said into the communicator and then plugged the crystal into a port in the side.

Captain’s Quarters, Antarian Warship Kilra, Immediately Following

General Kro, chief and most trusted of Kivar’s generals was resting in his quarters when the signal arrived. It didn’t take long for the information to be downloaded and for Kro to look it over. Kro, like many others, had hoped that the virus was not a deliberate action but this proved that it was. His family had a long-standing agreement with 12 others, all military by tradition. It was simple, hope for the best but work for the worst. In other words if the virus was deliberate, work to create a military group that would be willing to fight the enemy at any cost.

Many of these families had become high-ranking officers in the armies of the nobles but by far he was the most senior. His operative that he placed in Kivar’s court was to send any information on the virus to him and he never failed to do so but this was by far the best information he sent. However, Kivar using this information to get what he wants from Larek was unacceptable and he had no choice but to act on his own.

It didn’t take long for him to send a signal to all other ships loyal to him and their cause that their families put together. One by one the list of ships on his screen changed colour from red to green as they confirmed readiness.

“Command.” Kro said into the intercom

“Yes sir.”

“I need an encrypted channel to Lord Larek’s ship. Use the following specifications.” Kro said as he entered a sequence of commands

“Yes sir…channel open sir.”

Kro pressed a button and Larek’s face appeared on the screen.

“You?” Larek said, “How did you get access to this channel?”

“For those who came before.” Kro said, a simple phrase that was passed down from his ancestors

Larek looked blankly. “And those who come after.” he said, “You are one of the alliance?” he said, reciting the phrase his father taught him.

“My Lord, my family has served this house for generations. We’re not about to stop now because Kivar is in charge. Back then the house was respectable and all were loyal to the old king.” Kro said

“I’m aware of that Kro.”

“My Lord, Zan’s ancestor set up this alliance and as such I hand over complete control to you.” Kro said, “The alliance of 12 has grown. We have 300 command level officers ready for this, each currently commanding either one ship or a battle group. But I need to know if it’s true?”

“There is a fleet waiting on the other side of the rift…Kivar also attempted to blackmail me into terminating all hybrids on Earth.” Larek said

“Very well. Larek, you now command the bulk of Kivar’s fleet. My suggestion is that you use it. I will take care of Kivar.” Kro said

“How?”

“That’s my concern my lord. You just deal with the anomaly.” Kro said and shut off the link.

Kro then reactivated the intercom. “Command.”

“Sir.”

“Launch a class 1 luminescent flare toward Antar and make sure it burns green.”

“Yes sir.”

Three minutes later the voice came back. “Sir flare is ready for launch at your command.”

“Do it.”

Phadran’s Private Quarter’s, Antarian Royal Palace, 10 Minutes Later

Phadran looked out of his window and saw a green light streak across the heavens. He knew immediately what it meant and moved over to the hidden compartment. Slowly he pulled out a gleaming blade with very sharp edges. He hid the blade in the sleeve of his uniform and jumped when the buzzer in his room went off – Kivar was summoning him.

Chapter 14b

Throne Room, Royal Palace, Antar, Five Minutes Later

Phadran walked into the throne room, his hands met under the long sleeves of his servants uniform where he firmly held the blade. Slowly he moved along the long room to where his master sat waiting for him.

“Phadran.” Kivar said, “I don’t expect to be kept waiting when I call you.”

“No my liege. Forgive me; there were…problems at the gates. Many people have tried to gain entry to the palace.” Phadran lied

“Very well, make me a glass of Tilo. Make sure it’s warm.” Kivar ordered

Phadran moved into a room next to the throne room and prepared Kivar’s drink. When he came back in, Phadran gave Kivar the glass. Kivar started to drink from it and turned his back on his servant. That was Phadran’s opportunity. He removed the knife from his uniform and plunged it deep into the lower right hand side of Kivar’s back.

“ARHHHHHHHHHH.” Kivar yelled but his guards never responded, all were ordered to stand down by their commander, a loyal follower of the Alliance.

When the blade was withdrawn Kivar slumped on to his throne and turned, looking at Phadran who held up the blade.

“Look familiar?” Phadran asked Kivar

Kivar recognised the blade all right, it was identical in design if not the actual blade that was used to kill Zan’s father and then he used to kill Zan. Phadran turned to leave, intending to let the false king bleed to death in the throne that he coveted. However, Kivar had no intention of letting his aide get away with this betrayal. Quickly he stretched forth his arm but even quicker Phadran turned and threw the blade toward Kivar, plunging it up to the hilt in Kivar’s chest.

Kivar fell back onto the throne as Phadran walked calmly out of the room. The guard commander and Phadran had a transport ship waiting for them, one that was intended to be used by Kivar in the event of rebellion, and when they met up the two left quietly and without fuss. They knew that the other personal guards would return on duty soon and it wouldn’t take them long to find the body.

Within seconds of them reaching the hidden ship the alarm had been raised. Quickly they boarded the craft and powered it up and launched it. With the level of confusion that was experienced in the palace they got away before the air defence guns could be trained on them. Their course: General Kro’s ship, in orbit of the fifth moon of Antar.

Command Room, Alpha1, 16:00

“Sir…we’re receiving a communication from the home-world. Kivar…he’s dead.”

“What?” Kalen asked

“Its on broadband signal coming from Antar. It’s like they want everyone to know but he’s dead. Stabbed…once through the back, another in the chest.”

“Has Larek responded?” Kalen asked

“No. Nothing yet sir.”

“When the Skins hear about this there’s going to be trouble. Contact Feln. Let him know.” Kalen said as he left the chamber

Motel, Outside Roswell, Immediately Following

Nicholas was sitting at the window looking at his hexagonal device that displayed the announcement from Antar. He didn’t know how to feel about it, on one hand he was a loyal supporter of Kivar’s cause and on the other, recent developments with Serena had been interesting. He never expected to feel this way about a freak. Here was a hybrid willing to let him do anything to her body that he wanted and he was willing to let her do anything to him.

Slowly Serena slipped out of the bed and moved over to the Skin and kissed the back of his neck. “What’s up?” she asked

“Kivar’s been killed. Looks like you’re off the hook for getting knocked up by Zan.” Nicholas said

“Killed? How?” Serena asked

“Stabbed. They don’t know who did it but he did meet with Larek earlier in the day.”

“I doubt goody two shoes Larek did it? Besides if it was him he would be taking credit for it by now.” Serena said

“I agree. So far nobody’s come forward…his personal aide and guard captain is missing.” Nicholas said

“Well that doesn’t matter to us anyway. Your brother’s people are moving the Granolith in a few days and as soon as your guys get it, we’ll be inside it and become gods. This planet will have an atmosphere for us both and we can get you out of this husk.” Serena said

“Then I get to have some fun.” Nicholas said as he turned to face Serena and ran his fingers down her face and breasts.

“Hmm…yes you do. No more nasty husk taking all the sensation out of it…and I get to stop screwing a 14 year old.” Serena said

“I thought you liked the way my husk looked?” Nicholas asked

“Oh I do. But I’ve got a few of Ava’s memories in here and you looked totally hot back on Antar.” Serena said, “Now come on, back to bed.”

Serena took Nicholas hand and led him back to bed. She had learned more than a few tricks in the last week that made her lover feel at least some sensations of their trysts and she liked seeing his face twist and experience things he hadn’t felt in fifty years.

Liz had gone swimming in the ocean by herself. After coming back inside she needed a shower to wash off all the salt. One thing she loved about having a shower here on the island was the phenomenal water pressure; she could never get enough of the hot water as it jetted on her skin.

“Are you sure this will work?” Valenti asked

“No.” Feln said, “No one’s tried to mask the Granolith’s energy signature before but this device sends out the inverse of that wave. It should prevent it…or at least block it from being detectable outside this room.”

“Well your power unit’s all hooked up.” The officer said as he came from the other side of the room, “Everything is exactly as you’ve specified.”

“Good.” Feln said as he took the ends of the cables from the generator and hooked it up to the device he installed at the base of the Granolith.

“How do we activate it?” Valenti asked

“I have a remote. When everything is set up in the nuclear testing caves all I’ll have to do is push a button and the trap will be set.” Feln said

“Lets hope they fall for it.” Valenti said, “With Kivar gone, they’ll be unpredictable…out for blood. Unless they have doubts about this cause of Kivar’s they’ll fight until the last man. We need to get them all.”

“Then that’s exactly what we’ll do.” Feln said

On the Beach, The Island, 08:00

Alex had made it a little ritual of his to go out for an early morning swim. He was usually the first one awake in the morning and slipped out of bed without waking whichever partner he was with. Last night it was Michael and as expected the alien did even stir.

“Really?”

“Yeah, when I was talking to Isabel she asked if there was any feelings between us.” Max said

“I know. But Isabel and Liz were able to tell us about how they feel about each other.”

“Yes they did…and that led one hell of a sex marathon. Let’s not let that happen again.” Alex said

“You didn’t like it?” Max asked

“Are you sure about this?” Michael asked

“So…who’s being blamed for the assassination?”

“One of Rath’s followers. His hybrid is the last of his family but that wont prove to be a problem. The person we’ve selected was one of the house guards…he died last year but we preserved his body. He’ll be found tomorrow in that ship you just arrived in, we’ll remove two escape pods – one for each of you. Our story for you is that you were taken prisoner by the guard and that during the flight you escaped, sabotaged the ship and got into the pods. As far as anyone will know, the sabotage resulted in a hull breach and he was spaced.” Kro said

“Good, just so long as we’re not made the scapegoats.” The guard captain said

“That will not happen.” Kro said

“So what now?”

“Now we meet up with the Alliance fleet in the Olcar System. We mass there until Larek’s weapons arrived, then we go all out to wipe out that star system and close that passage.” Kro said

“How many ships?” Phadran asked

“1000.” Kro responded

“They have tens of thousands.”

“I know. We just have to hope that they can’t send their entire fleet through at once.” Kro said

“And if they do?” Phadran asked

“Then we take them out.” Kro said

The Beach, Eastern Edge of the Island, Sunset

“Alex, what the hell is going on?” Liz said as she followed Alex around the edge of the island.

“Max just wants to see you.” Alex said

“So why doesn’t he just come get…me?” Liz said just as she spotted a winding path in the sand, illuminated by rows of flaming torches on either side of it. “What’s that?”

“That is the path…and where I leave you. Good night Miss Parker.” Alex said as he ran back toward the facility entrance.

“Alex…wait…what the hell is going on?” she called after him. Liz took a deep breath and turned toward the path. “Okay Max, this better be good.”

Liz walked down the path; she couldn’t see anything on either side of the path as the flames. “MAX?” she called out

“DOWN HERE LIZ. JUST A LITTLE FURTHER.” She heard Max call back.

Liz reached the end of the path and allowed her eyes to adjust to the dim light that was provided by the torches that encircled the area. What she saw stunned her, before her lay three large rocks that were shaped into a table and chairs by Max’s powers. Cushions lay on the seats and a tablecloth was draped over the largest rock, on the table were plates of food, champagne classes filled with water and in the middle – a single white candle. However the most stunning thing that Liz saw was Max Evans wearing a tuxedo with a bouquet of wild flowers from the jungle in his hands.

“Liz.” Max greeted as he moved closer to her and presented her with the flowers.

Liz took them and inhaled the aroma before looking at Max’s tux. “I feel a tad underdressed.”

“Taken care of.” Max said as he held his hand up. He caused it to glow and from between the torches came Isabel.

“Isabel?” Liz said, “What’s going on?”

“Liz, go with Isabel. I’ll be waiting here.” Max said

Isabel extended her hand. “Come on, let’s get you ready.”

Liz took Isabel’s outstretched hand and walked with her into a nearby part of the jungle, just behind the tree line, which had been cleared of every piece of debris. There on a hanger, hanging from a tree branch was a form fitting, low cut black dress that would descend to the mid point of her thighs with a slit up the right leg. On another hanger Liz found a suspender belt and thigh high stockings and a pair of black shoes.

“Isabel…I…”

“No don’t say anything. Lets get you dressed.” Isabel said as she began to strip Liz.

“I don’t see a bra…or panties?” Liz said

“I’ve got a feeling you won’t need them.” Isabel said as she looked over Liz’s body. She took the suspender belt and put it around Liz’s waist and one by one she slid the stockings up Liz’s legs. Gently Isabel attached the stockings to the suspenders before taking the dress and putting it over Liz’s body.

When Liz was fully dressed, Isabel still felt she needed to finish the job and waved her hand over the brunette’s hair. She adjusted it here and there, adding a moistened look and a few curls before draping the long hair over Liz’s right shoulder. Then Isabel proceeded to add eye shadow and lipstick.

“There, all done.” Isabel said softly before she escorted Liz back to Max

When Max caught sight of Liz, his breath caught in his throat and he felt a stirring in his loins that he was barely able to control. As Liz approached Max, he could see Isabel moving off to the side, heading toward the facility and Alex. When the couple were almost a foot apart, they just looked at each other.

“You look really good in a tux.” Liz stated

“And you are beautiful, my queen.” Max said as he took her hand and walked his lover over to the table where he sat her down and pushed her chair closer. Then he proceeded to sit down.

“How did you do all this?” Liz asked as they began to eat, finding the food still piping hot.

“Power and practice…and a very good incentive.” Max said as he picked up his glass

Liz picked up hers and the couple clinked them together.

“To us, our parents and our family.” Max said

“To us.” Liz said never taking her eyes away from Max. The couple then proceeded to enjoy the meal that Max had prepared with extreme care and love.

Common Room, Immediately Following

Alex and Isabel walked hand in hand into the room to find the other’s sitting around the room in various positions. As they sat down, the proceeded to tell their friends of everything Max had prepared and what they absent couple looked like. When they were done, Michael and Kyle caught the dreamy looks on Maria and Tess’s faces and looked at each other.

“I’m gonna kill him.” Michael breathed out

“No…it’s nice.” Maria said

“Yeah. Besides after everything they’ve been through thanks to Serena, Skins, Rouge FBI…and me, they deserve a nice night together. Just the two of them.” Tess said

“It’s still something we should have thought of.” Kyle said

“Are you kidding? This is Romeo Max we’re talking about, when Liz is concerned and it’s intended to make her happy…he’ll always think of it first.” Alex said

“Yeah, besides you should have seen it, it’s totally roman…” Isabel stopped and her face suddenly became serious as everyone looked up at her. “…tic.” she finished

“He wouldn’t.” Michael said

“She wouldn’t.” Maria said

Everyone looked at each other and then toward the door that led up to the beach.

“They would.” Everyone said in unison.
