Chapter 11

Quotes from "Toy House" and "Crazy"

Michael’s Room
February 25th, 2000 – 6:03 A.M.

“Good Morning.” Liz called out, carrying a tray of eggs, bacon, sausage, and Snapple into her parents’ room that had become Michael’s room since he moved in. She told him to redecorate the room and make it his own because she couldn’t bare going inside the room if it looked like her parents were still living there.

“Uhhh. Get out.” Michael whined underneath his pillow. Liz set the tray on the end table and walked to the window to open the shades. “Uhhh. What time is it?”

“Morning, made you some breakfast.” Liz said happily as she set the tray on Michael lap and sat down by his legs.

“Okay, new rule, let’s pretend I’m a vampire instead of an alien…and if you wake me up this early and surprise me with sunlight…I die…are we clear?” Michael warned.

“Mm hmm.” Liz nodded with a smile. “Oh, here. I didn’t know how much you wanted.” Liz said handing Michael a bottle of Tabasco sauce.

“Okay, I know you’re breaking some natural law by being that happy. What’s up?” Michael asked annoyed by her happiness. “What cheesy romantic thing did Max do now that I know I’m gonna get the third degree about later with Maria?”

“Max hasn’t done anything today.” Liz said shaking her head without dropping her smile.

“What, no note? No flowers? No flashes?” Michael asked surprised.

“Nope.”

“Come on, spill it already.” Michael demanded.

“I wanted to thank you because what ever talk you had with him made me the happiest girl I know.”

“Yeah, don’t mention it…really…stop mentioning it because Maria keeps barking at me about it. She wants more romance.”

“Well can you blame her?”

“Don’t start it.” Michael warned, not needing to hear a lecture from her as well. “Why don’t you tell me the real reason why you’re here?”

“Okay, but you can’t tell anyone…especially not Max.”

“Sorry, kiddo. Can’t make that promise. Max’s the King.”

“We’ll if Max the King, what do you think that makes me?” Liz asks wickedly.

“Uh, an evil blackmailer.” Michael responded without thinking.

“I’m really offended. I would be an evil blackmailer if I told you that I will tell Maria that you referred to her as a dog and that you canceled “date night” so you could go watch a hockey game.” Liz threatened.

“Hey, those were extenuating circumstances.”

“Yeah, I’m sure Maria will understand.”

“Fine, I won’t tell, but for the record, I don’t appreciate being the blackmailed.” Michael states.

“Noted. Now come one.” Liz said hitting his leg and waiting for him outside of his room.

Liz’s Room

“What is it?”

“That.” Liz said pointing to her melted radio.

“Did you?” Michael asked stunned.

“Mm hmm.”

“We have to tell Max. You got your powers, what, two years before you were supposed to.” Michael said surprised. “How?”

“Well, last night I had a dream…sort of a nightmare…about Tess…and that’s when that happened.” She said pointing to her radio. “I tried to come up with a reason why this was happening and I could only come up with one…when I got my powers in the future, I got them when I was feeling all this tension and hatred towards Tess and Max being together…”

“But they’re not…she’s not even here.” Michael stated.

“Not now, but she will be in like, what? A week? How would you feel if you knew Billy Darden was coming in a week?” Liz asked seeing Michael’s eyes flicker and then a vase Liz had on her dresser shatter.

“I’ll fix it later.” Michael mumbled apologetically, getting an understanding nod from Liz.

“See. That’s how I feel. I guess when Max gave me my future memories, all those emotions I was feeling subconsciously activated my powers.”

“Okay, you’ve been watching Power Rangers too much. We don’t activate our powers…we don’t have magic rings or a secret layer.”

“So, what’s the pod chamber?” Liz commented but saw Michael was losing his patience. “Okay, I’m sorry. Just…I need you to help me get them in control before Max finds out.”

“Well, my services and dignity don’t come cheap.” Michael explained.

“Oh, uh, how about $50?”

“$50 and the place next weekend.” Michael added to his negotiations.

“Deal.”

“Alright, so now that that’s over…I’m going back to sleep.”

The Crashdown

“Hey.” Max greets her with a kiss on the top of her head and then notices she was about to leave. “New home delivery service?”

“Huh, oh, no. I heard Kyle got hurt the other day playing basketball.” Liz informed him as she gripped on to the pie she had in his hand. “I feel bad because I tried to talk to him before the game…you know to fix things…and I guess I distracted him.” Liz confessed.

“I know the feeling.” Max said in a flirtatious tone as he cupped her cheeks. “You’re really warm.”

“Yeah, I think I’m getting the flu…remember I was suppose to get the flu before the…you know…the camping trip.” Liz said sadly knowing she wouldn’t be able to go anymore since her parents were gone. Max gave a faint smile to signal that he knew what she was feeling and then heard the order bell being rung, reminding him of Michael.

“Have you seen Michael?” Max asked trying to look through the order window from where he was standing. “I feel like he’s avoiding me.”

“Um, uh uh.” Liz nodded frantically, knowing exactly why Michael had been avoiding him and then heard the bells of the restaurant door jingle and saw Kyle hopping in on crutches. “I’m gonna…”

“Go ahead.” Max said before heading out the door.

“Hi.” Liz greeted.

“Hi.” Kyle answered.

“I was just about to go see you.”

“You were? Why?” Kyle questioned as he sat down in a booth.

“Well, I heard what happened and I wanted to bring you some pie and study notes from Ethics.” Liz answered as she sat across from him, pushing the notes and pie to him.

“It's guilt, isn't it?” Kyle asked. Liz just looked at him confused. “The pie, the study notes. It's guilt. You feel responsible for my ankle.”

“No, Kyle, I don't feel...I don't feel responsible for your ankle.” Liz quickly denied his alligations even though that's exactly how she felt.

“I just found out that I'm gonna miss the rest of the season.” Kyle informed her with a depressed expression.

“Kyle...I'm sorry, Kyle. I, I...” Liz stammered not knowing what to say.

“Ooh.” Kyle announced pointing out Liz’s obvious guilt.

“I admit it, ok? You know…I feel a little bit responsible. I shouldn’t have stressed you with what was going on before your game…you probably had a lot on your mind. Look, Kyle, I know what it feels like to have somebody, like, break up with you, and I just...I just wanted to say that I'm...I'm really sorry, you know, about how all of it ended and everything, and I am...incredibly sorry about you missing the rest of the season.” Liz apologized feeling even more guilty as she apologized.

“I'm only gonna be out two weeks. I just said that to prove a point. Anyway, about...what happened with us...I just wanted to say, you...you were pretty straight with me and I wa acting like a possessive jerk. And you...you told me it was over, and...and...and I, I didn't listen. I didn't let it go." Kyle declared.

“Is, um, excuse me? Are you apologizing to me?” Liz asked with a smile plastered on her face.

“I guess.”

“Wow. I...you know, I wasn't aware that this was part of your repertoire.“

“I didn't either.” Kyle replied with a small chuckle of disbelief.

“So, then, what changed?”

“I don't know. I, I was, like...I was just laying there for like 2 days, and it gave me some time to think. And then there was this whole thing on Sally Jessie. You know, "ex-es on a rampage," and it just...it gave me some perspective, so...but anyway, I just...I think it would be great if...you know, if we could, you know, maybe we could be friends.”

“Well, it...um...sure. We could...you know, we could work towards that.” Liz replied with a grin.

“So...anyway, about, uh, about lunch...I was hoping for something high in both fat and cholesterol and lacking in any inherent nutritional value.”

“I think that you are just in luck. Let me show you. Right here on the menu us our fatty section. This right here, there's, like, 4 pounds of sugar...”

Liz’s Room

March 2nd.

There are days when everything seems wrong, when little things just irk you for no good reason. And then there are days like today when the whole world just sings to you from the minute you open your eyes in the morning, till the minute you shut them again at night. Last night, Max took me to “Senior Chow’s”. He’s so romantic. He altered our fortune cookie of course to the fortune’s our future selves had, which made it even more romantic. I find myself wondering how someone can want us to be apart…if they could only see how happy we make each other…but I guess that doesn’t apply to inhuman people like Tess and Naseado. Tomorrow’s the big day. I wonder how it will go?

West Roswell High

March 3rd, 2000 - 5th Period

“Anything?” Maria asked waiting for Liz by her locker.

“Nope. Nothing.” Liz said shaking her head as they walked to a study area. Liz lies down on Maria’s lap and Maria starts twirling Liz’s hair. “I so don’t want to be here today...but I’m kind of glad that it’s a Friday.”

“Why are you here? If I were you, I’d go find Max and tell him to take you home. There’s Casanova right now.” Maria announced spotting Max and Michael walking towards them. Michael came up to Maria and kissed her on her forehead as Max did to Liz.

“Hi.” Liz greeted in a sad voice.

“Still not feeling better?” Max asked concerned.

“Not now, Moon Doggie. You have all weekend to play Doctor.” Maria teased, knowing that Liz was staying over Max’s house for the weekend with the cover of her and Isabel in the works of some big school project, while she and Michael had the house to themselves, she still questioned what made it possible and made a mental note to find out later on.

“Hey, sorry we’re late.” Isabel announced, walking up to them with Alex.

“So how are we doing this?” Alex asked.

“We meet for lunch 6th period and then go back to my house after school.” Max says going over the plan.

“Wait, I have to get my stuff.” Liz announced as she sat up.

“Well, I can take you to your house to get your things, I won’t be doing anything tonight.” Alex offered.

“That’d be great.” Liz said and then they all heard the bell ring to start 5th period.

Lunch Room – 6th period

“What’s the matter?” Alex asked Isabel, noticing she was really nervous.

“Nothing, it’s just…it’s hard to concentrate with all the face-sucking going around.” Isabel commented in disgust as she pointed out Max and Liz and Michael and Maria who were all cuddly with each other. “We’re still going star gazing right?”

“Uh, yeah. Got a spot picked out that’s perfect in Frasier Woods.” Alex informed her.

“Frasier Woods, huh?” Isabel questioned playfully seeing Alex blush as he attempted to explain.

“Can I join you?” A small voice asked. “If you're busy, I could...”

“No. Have a seat. Join us. Sit down.” Isabel directed anxiously.

“Thanks. I'm Tess.”

Chapter 12

Evans Kitchen

“And then I had to sit for an hour listening to Madame Vivian about how I’m a cheap jerk and that ‘I should follow the love’. What the hell’s that suppose to mean?” Michael asked furiously just getting a shrug from Max. “I’ll tell you what it means…it means blah, blah, blah, believe my crap and give me twenty dollars. You know how much Snapple I could’ve bought with that?!?”

“So…” Max presses, not knowing where he was going with his constant whining as he grabbed something to drink from the fridge, leaving the door open just enough so Michael could snatch something.

“So, now Maria says what we've got isn't good enough. She wants more.” Michael answers, grabbing the orange juice.

“You mean like...”

“No. If that’s what she wanted, would I be here talking to you? She wants the romance thing. The thing that you and Liz got.” Michael replies, rolling his eyes in annoyance as Max hands him a glass to prevent him from drinking from the carton.

“Is that what you want?”

“I just want to make her happy. And you're gonna tell me how to do it.” Michael ordered, making Max laugh.

“It's not like there's a handbook.” Max quickly defends with a smirk.

“I'm serious, Max. I can’t go to that Madame Vivian anymore…she’s breaking me.” Michael begs in distress.

“All right...romantic.” Max begins to ponder over romantic ideas, making sure he reserves the good ones for himself to surprise Liz later, and then comes up with a suggestion. “When you're with her, act like she's like the only girl in the room.”

“She's usually the only other person in the room.” Michael tells him.

“That's a good start.” Max says biting his lower lip, trying to come up with another suggestion, and then thought of all the things he had done for Liz. “Um, try taking her out...someplace nice. And, uh, surprises...they love surprises.” Max says with a smile before he elaborated on what he meant by ‘surprises’. “Like, you know, little things…like a note in her locker or a flower in the middle of the day.”

“How do you know women so well?” Tess asked after hearing enough of their conversation.

“Maybe cause I’m dating one.” Max quickly snaps, but before the comment could sink in her mentality, Michael started with the questions.

“Who the hell are you?”

“Hey, Space Boy.” Maria greeted as she and Liz entered the kitchen from the back door, the two making a bee-line to their respected others and kissing them hello. “Who’s this?” Maria asked, but knew exactly who it was, the winch that separated her best friend from the man she loved and the murderer who killed her other best friend in another timeline.

“Oh, I’m Tess.” She introduced herself extending her hand but not getting anyone else’s in return.

“Kids. How’s it going?” Mr. Evans greeted as he placed his suitcase on the island counter and took a sip of his coffee.

“Fine.” Michael answered.

“Hey, Mr. Evans.” Both Maria and Liz greeted at the same time.

“Lizzy, do you have your stuff?” Mr. Evans asked noticing she was empty handed.

“Michael and I are gonna get them later, Dad.” Max announced as he brushed the back of Liz’s hair with his fingers, feeling Tess drilling a hole on the side of his head with her eyes.

“Hey, Lizzy? Did you get your settlement yet?” Mr. Evans asked concerned.

“Uh, not yet.” Liz said shaking her head, taking in the fact the Max’s father kept calling her Lizzy like her father use to do and savored the sound.

“Are you kidding me? Still? Who’s your lawyer?” Mr. Evans asked appalled by the amount of time it had taken for Liz’s inheritance to be granted.

“Um, Mr. Duncan.” Liz answered.

“That sloth. Listen, tomorrow I’ll make some calls and see what the hold up is…you shouldn’t have to wait this long…especially after what happened.” Mr. Evans commented sadly.

“Thank you, Mr. Evans.” Liz said hugging him tightly and then hugging Max, who was giving his father a grateful and proud smile.

“Alright, I have to go. Order some pizza. You boys take care of these girls.” Mr. Evans ordered as he exited through the back door.

“We will.” Both Max and Michael yelled and then looked back at Tess who had been quiet throughout the whole conversation. Max grinned at the fact that his father didn’t even acknowledge her, but knew that the attitudes were coming to strong from their part, and knew if they kept it up she would start to suspect them.

“Alright Maxwell, take care of Liz for me. Me and Maria are out of here. Tess.” He said with a nod.

“I’ll go get your things, okay?” Max said as he kissed Liz and then followed Michael and Maria out.

“Um, I’m Liz.” Liz introduced, breaking the awkward moment.

“Yeah, I heard.” Tess said with a smile that Liz couldn’t help but think it was completely forced.

“Hey, Liz.” Isabel greeted as she walked in and headed for the refrigerator, grabbed two sodas and then stood next to Liz and handed Tess a soda. “Where’s your stuff?”

“Max went to get it from Maria’s car.” Liz answered.

“What happened to Alex?”

“His dad needed him for something.” Liz answered with smile, glad that Alex and Isabel were attempting to try what could have been.

“Alright, first rule in Casa Evans, if you’re going to be sucking face with my bother…make sure you keep it in a volume that I can’t hear all the panting and moaning.” Isabel warned.

“We do not…is it really that loud?” Liz asked embarrassed.

“What’s loud?” Max asked, hearing Liz’s last words as he carried in her duffel bag and book bag. “Why are you flushed?” Max asked with a chuckle seeing Liz’s rosy cheeks get redder.

“Um, nothing.” Liz answered with a grin and then grabbed her book bag. “Um, I’ll just start on that bio homework Mr. Seilgman gave us…before we…”

“Before we study French.” Max commented impishly, seeing Isabel roll her eyes and Tess shift her weight in annoyance.

“Um, yeah.” Liz agreed and then moved to the kitchen table and began to unload her books. Max headed to his room and tossed placed Liz’s bag by the door and then watched from his room as Isabel and Tess returned to Isabel’s room.

Max’s Room

March 6th- 10:48P.M.

“Mmm, no, I don’t want you to go.” Max whined as he wrapped his hand around her.

“Shhh. Your parents are going to hear us and I’m suppose to home already.” Liz shushed as she covered Max’s mouth with her lips and giggled between kisses. Max began to intensify their kiss, brushing the exposed section of her hips from her low rider jeans, and then twirled them over to lie on top of her. Liz entangled her legs with his and a sudden rush of images of Future Max and Future Liz taking off each other’s clothes flashed in their minds. “Uh…are you…”

“Yeah.” Max nodded, seeing the same flashes she was and continued to ravish her as the flashes were becoming more detailed. Images of Liz’s bare flesh sending Max in a grinding rampage, rubbing his body against her to ease he’s throbbing arousal.

“Max.” Liz moaned as she nicked his ear. She trailed her lips down his neck and then sucked in his lower lip. All of a sudden, a flash of Max and Tess kissing near the pod chambers violated its way into the flashes causing Max to jerk away as Max’s radio sparked. Max quickly shielded Liz and then waved his hand over the radio to stop it from burning.

“Liz? That wasn’t me.” Max whispered in bewilderment towards both the flashes and the radio.

“No, it was me.” Liz announced.

West Roswell High

March 7th, 2000 - Isabel's Locker

"Hey Isabel."

"Hey Tess." Isabel greeted forcably, dredding the assignment of being the one to befriend Tess.

"Wow, you look like you barely got sleep." Tess commented towards Isabel's puffy eyes.

"Yeah, hard to sleep when your brother is practically "making it" with his girlfriend a few feet away. He's a total goner. You should hear him talk about her. "Oh Liz is my soul mate. I never felt like this before." Isabel imitates as she rolls her eyes.

"Wow, it's that serious?" Tess asked disappointed and then Isabel showed her one of Max's notebooks that had Liz's name written in every square inch of the back cover and his name but with different handwritting, which only made Tess assume that Max and Liz were doodling together.

"Can you believe it? This is my notebook! I let him borrow it because he and Liz cut 7th on some spontaneous trip he had planned for her and look what they did to it." Isabel exclaimed, seeing Tess becoming annoyed with the stories of Max and Liz's fairytale relationship. "I'm late for 4th. I'll see you later." Isabel announced as she ran to her class.

Liz's Locker - 4th Period

"Hey Chica. What's going on?" Maria asked as she saw Liz's depressed expression as she pulled out her books from her locker.

"Oh, Max is sort of mad because last night..."

"I heard...you're turning Czech on me." Maria comments and rolls her eyes.

"Yeah that and the fact that while things were getting pretty hot and heavy between me and Max, BAM! In comes Tess with her frickin' mind warp." Liz curses, slamming her locker and walking beside Maria in the direction of their study hall class in the library.

"Max told you what he saw?"

"He didn't have to...we were kissing and I saw it too." Liz said in disgust. "It's what made me go..."

"All Jean Grey? I hear ya, babe. If I was sparkling like you I think I would have burned down your house...Michael had this romantic dinner set up for me and right when we're slow dancing...well I was dancing...I have no idea what Space Boy was doing, anyways, right when we're doing the traditional "dip and kiss" Barbie pops in his head with Jr." Maria retells the awful occurances breaking her pencil in the process. "So have you seen the little hussy yet?"

"No, but she's supposed to be going to the library with Kyle and try to get the Destiny Book."

"Yeah, I would love to see the look on the little home wreckers face when she finds out the book is gone already."

"Me too." Liz said with a giddy smile. "I wonder what she'll do then?"

Chapter 13

Max’s Jeep- 9:56P.M.

“So? What? You saw her looking for the book?” Maria asked Michael as they sat in the back of the jeep as Max drove them to Liz’s place to drop off Liz and Maria.

“Yeah, and she was pretty ticked off too when she didn’t find it.” Michael informed them, unable to shake the panic he was feeling, worried on what Tess might do next.

“She’s gonna go to my room tonight. Michael will be in the closet.” Max retells.

“And then I snatch her and drag her over here. What about the book?” Michael asked, not knowing what to say if she asked about it.

“We give her the new one Alex made. That way her version of our destiny doesn’t exist.” Max answered as he pulled up in front of The Crashdown.

“What about Alex?” Liz asked concerned.

“Isabel doesn’t want him anywhere near her, so she’ll be her later.” Max replies.

“Max, please be careful.” Liz pleads before giving him a quick kiss and then hopping out of the jeep with Maria.

“You two come back to us.” Maria announces as Michael hops in the front passenger seat and turns to give her a faint smile before they drive off.

Max’s Room

Max laid on his back pretending be asleep, thinking about what was going to happen next, and just like clock work, Tess comes creeping in his window and attempts to climb on Max, but is pulled back instead by Michael who stormed out of the closet. “Hey?”

“Let’s go, Esmeralda.” Michael ordered as he pushed her back towards the window.

Liz’s Place

“What are we doing here?” Tess asked as she saw they were pulling up to Liz’s house. Michael pulled her arm to get her out of the jeep and then pulled her up the stairs to Liz’s room without uttering a single word. When they entered the room, Michael pushes her on the bed and then moves over to the window ledge where Maria was standing at with her arms crossed. “We shouldn’t be here. We should be back at the pod chambers…us three and Isabel.” Tess begged.

“Where’s Liz?” Max asked Maria without turning to look at her.

“I’m right here.” Liz announced as she walked in the room carrying a small box, Max took the box and then Liz stood beside him. Tess’s eyes focused on a specific accessory that hung from Liz’s neck…the whirlwind pendant…and felt her blood begin to boil.

“Look, I know you’re wondering what has been going on…” Tess attempts to explain, but is cut off by Liz.

“We know why you’re here.” Liz answered. “To try to take Max, Michael and Isabel away from us.”

“What do you know?” Tess asked as she rose to her feet.

“Sit…down.” Maria commanded, moving up beside Liz.

“This has nothing to do with you two…this has to do with me and Max…” But before Tess could finish her debate, Liz raised her hand and forced Tess to fall back down on the bed.

“Maria told you to sit, so sit!” Liz ordered, feeling a rush from being intimidating and commanding for the first time in her life. “Oh, and I don’t want to hear you describe Max as something joined with you…there is no ‘you and Max’, so I suggest you choose your words wisely.” Liz warned and then sat on the ledge beside Michael to enjoy watching Tess mystified face try to figure out how Liz had powers.

“Is this what you were looking for?” Max asked as he tossed to her the Destiny Book and then placed the small box on top of Liz’s dresser.

“Yes.” Tess answered in relief as she began to flip through the metallic pages looking for one specific page but couldn’t find it. “What? Where’s the rest?”

“What are you talking about?” Michael asked, writing psycho all over her with his eyes.

“There’s a page missing.” Tess yelled, opening the book up to the part where the etching of the four of them should have been. “There’s a page…it talks about the Four Square…the Royal Four…”

“We know what the book says. To tell you the truth, it was kind of boring, except for the part about Ava.” Michael comments with sarcasm as he takes a step forward.

“Cliff notes version…psycho Goldie Locks comes to find the others because she wants to get pregnant from Maxy boy over there and go back to Antar…”

“We know all about Nasedo’s deal with Khivar…and I rather turn myself in to the FBI than to leave with you.” Max declared with hatred.

“Max…you don’t mean that, I’m your wife…we’re…” Tess suddenly yelped when she was pushed back again by Liz’s powers. When she sat up again, she saw how Liz’s hands flickered with green electricity, never seeing anything like it.

“What did I say?” Liz threatened.

“Chicks got a hearing problem.” Maria comments as she shakes her head.

“Stop it! Why won’t you guys listen to me?” Tess cried not getting an ounce of pity from everyone in the room. Then suddenly Isabel came storming in.

“Guys, it’s…”

“I think I can introduce myself Miss Evans.” Valenti states as he removed his hat and stepped inside the room. “I received a complaint over what they described as a domestic disturbance…”

“We’re just hanging out, Sheriff.” Isabel answers nervously.

“Um hmm.” Valenti answers as he eyeballs Max and Michael, and then looks at Tess with wonder. “I’m sorry…and you are?” He asked standing in front of her.

“Tess. Tess Harding.” Tess answered, triggering Valenti's memory at the sound of her name.

‘Max is making us practice…you know…for when Tess and Nasedo come, we’ll be prepared.’

‘Ran into your friend today…that Guerin boy…heard him and the Evans girl telling Amy’s daughter and the Whitman boy about a Tess and Nasedo. Do you know anyone by those names?'

"Tess? That's a very interesting name." Valenti comments as everyone exchanges looks.

Chapter 14

Liz's Room

”You know, about four months ago…I heard someone say that name…and you know what’s funny? That’s the only time I have ever heard it.” Valenti speculates as he walks between everyone like he was a drill sergeant walking between his cadets. “What I also heard that day was the Max said they had to prepare before Tess came with…Nasedo is it, Miss Evans?” Valenti questions with suspicion as he stops behind Isabel.

“I didn’t know Roswell was paying their police to spy on kids in grocery stores.” Michael snorted as he leaned up against the dresser, making sure he made it clear to Valenti that he wasn’t afraid of him like the rest of them were. All four girls stood as if their feet had been cemented into the floor, backs straight and eyes forward, practically screaming that they were afraid. He and Max didn't fall into that category. What he saw in Max's eyes wasn't fear...it was something else he just couldn't pin point it. Maybe the loss of hope. He moved his sights to Tess and saw her quickly look away in fear. He then began to theorizes that maybe that was the reason why Tess feared him…because he didn’t fear anything, and he recalled reading somewhere, probably from his DareDevil comic books, that a man without fear is a dangerous man. ‘Then how dangerous is a man with no fears, short tempered, and has rogue alien powers…very dangerous’, he thought to himself.

“I’d watch your tone.” Valenti threatened in a cool voice.

“Look, this is all being blown out of proportion.” Liz declared as she moved between the icy stares that Michael and Valenti were exchanging. “Tess is an old friend of Max and Isabel. They were just ‘preparing’ because she wrote to them and told them that she was coming.” Liz quickly defended but saw that her excuse had very little effect on Valenti’s suspicions.

“For being such a good friend of the Evans, you’re quick to come up with the answers, Miss Parker.” Valenti commented. “I’d hate to see you involved in something that your parents would’ve disapproved of if they were still alive…seeing how now you don’t have anyone to take care of you, you might think it’s fun to do what you want…”

“Hey, Liz has someone to take care of her.” Michael snapped back.

“Sheriff, I don’t think my parents would be to keen with the idea of you assuming that I’m taking advantage of their death to rebel…if they were still alive I’m pretty sure this would be the part where they politely ask you to leave.” Liz requested as she moved to her door, swallowing back the cry she wanted to release after Valenti’s comment.

“I’ll show you the door.” Michael added as he waved his hand to signal Valenti to move.

“I’ll be leaving too. It’s getting late.” Tess announced, taking advantage that Valenti was there so she could leave without anyone trying to stop her, knowing they’d avoid causing further suspicion to themselves. Michael gave Max a pissed off look and then proceeded to follow them out.

Out Front of the Crashdown

“Are you okay, Miss?” Valenti asked trying to see if Tess would confirm his suspicions. “Do you need a ride home?”

“No thank you, Sheriff.” Tess answered politely.

“Alright, then. You just give me a holler if you need me.” Valenti replied as he adjusted his hat on his head and then climbed in his trooper truck and drove off.

Tess quickly ran out of sight, afraid that they were waiting for Valenti to leave before they snatched her again. ‘How is it possible? How did they know about the agreement between Khivar and Nasedo? How did they know about her? How did Liz blast me? Is she one of us? Is she the one Nasedo warned her about all these years? She can’t be.’ Tess thought to herself, thoughts that brought her as far as the park. She kicked herself for parking so far, but the park was near Max’s house and she never expected an ambush and then dragged to the Alien clubhouse. She crossed her arms when she felt a cool breeze brush past her and recalled it was windy as well when Nasedo first told him about…her…how she would come and die for their love. She would fight til’ her end when the war starts and she will die defending their love. It was destined. Just like she was destined to be beside Max…not Liz. It didn’t matter if they altered or destroyed the Destiny Book, they could never re-write something that was encoded into them, a destiny that flowed through their veins and always will. Without that destiny, they never would have existed. Liz...Maria...Alex...they’re all mere distractions and sooner or later they others would see it. It was her responsibility to make it sooner than later. Either way, them knowing speeds things along a lot quicker…they were way ahead of schedule than they were supposed to be and she knew Nasedo would be pleased.

“Hey, I know you.” Someone declared in the shadows. “You know Micky, don’t you?”

“Michael?” Tess asked cautiously, hearing the unbalanced man slurr his words, she didn’t need to be a rock scientist to know that he was drunk…the smell of alcohol alone gave it off. ‘Just your typical drunk.’ Tess thought.

“Yeah, Michael. That freak.” Hank cursed as he took a sip from a small bottle that was covered by a brown paper bag.

“What are you talking about?” Tess asked. ‘Does he know Michael’s not human?’

“I saw him. I saw him with my own eyes. He carried that Parker girl to my car. When I went into his room, there was blood on his floor…then when he came back it was clean…the bullet hole, gone. Freak. Little bastard cost me $500 dollars a month to run off to live with some Jezebel. I saw him alright.” Hank rambled as he struggled to keep his balance as he attempted to take another swallow, only succeeding in getting some in his mouth and the rest on his shirt and then returned to his rambling. “I saw you too. You’re a freak like him. You all are.”

“You’re drunk.” Tess snapped in disgust.

“Drunk? I saw you, you freak, using your voodoo to break in to the Evans house.” Hank informed her, proud of what he knew.

“I like you.” Tess spoke wickedly. “You feel the same way I do about Liz Parker. But your big mouth just got you into a lot of trouble old man.” Tess threatened before she pressed her hand against Hanks chest and squeezed the life out of him with her powers. She looked around cautiously and saw someone approaching. It was Kyle. She quickly shut her eyes and focused on possessing Kyle with her mind warp.

“Tess, how’s it going?” Kyle asked as he caught the football he tossed in the air.

“Fine.” Tess answered nervously.

“Need help?” Kyle asked, pointing to what he saw as a duffel bag instead of Hanks body.

“That’ll be wonderful.” Tess said with a smile. “My car’s right there.” She said pointing to a white mini van. She hated the model and type of car, but Nasedo insisted it was reliable. Tess watched as Kyle struggled to drag Hank’s body, but when he finally loaded up his body in the trunk of her car, Tess moved to the drivers seat and started the engine, Kyle slammed the trunk shut and walked up cocky to the sliding door and leaned over it. “Thanks a lot Kyle. I owe you.” Tess declared before she closed her door.

“Anytime.” Kyle answered as he stepped back from the car and then watched as she drove off.

Tess’s Mini Van

“Damn it!” Tess yelled as she pulled her cell phone from her pocket and then dialed the only number she had on speed dial.

‘Hello?’

“Nasedo, it’s me. We have a problem.”

‘What happened?’

“They knew…about everything…I…I had to get rid of someone.”

‘Who?’

“Michael’s father, I think.”

‘I’ll take care of it. Where are you right now?’

“I’m heading to the pod chamber.”

'Good, you go there. I’ll clean up everything else and then I’ll meet you there.

“Okay. Hurry, I’m really scared.”

‘You should be…what’s about to happen…is going to scare a lot of people…but they don’t know that fear is the least of there worries now…’

“What’s going to happen?”

‘Death…a plague of death…’

“Hello? Nasedo? Nasedo?” Tess called out when she heard Nasedo hang up. She hung up her phone and tossed it over to the passenger seat and then stepped on the accelerator to get to the pod chamber faster.

Chapter 15

Quotes from “Independence Day”

Pod Chamber

11:13 P.M.

“Alright, Nasedo. I’m waiting.” Tess spoke to herself as she paced back and forth frantically inside the chamber, while Hanks body rested on the ground.

Sheriff Station

11:38 P.M.

“Heh heh heh. I heard you put out an APB?” Hank questioned as he tapped on the doorway with his knuckles. Valenti looked at Hank surprised that he was in such a good mood, and most of all sober, and speculated on the reasons why as he leaned back on his chair.

“You heard right.” Valenti answered tapping the tip of his pen on the desk and then tossed it on top of the paperwork he was working on.

“Heh heh heh heh. Well, here I am.” Hank announced as he extended his hands not moving from the doorway.

“In all your glory.” Valenti replied sarcastically. “I’ve been looking for you to talk to you about that rifle incident last September…where you been Hank?” Valenti question suspiciously, he had been looking for Hank indeed but he had seemed to disappear off the face of the Earth, not making not a single round in his usual hang outs for some unexplained reason.

“Down in Carlsbad. Landed in a bar. Met a lady. What can I say?” Hank answered with a brazen smile. “So, you can call off the hounds.”

“You wanna tell me about the gunshots?” Valenti questioned, unamused by Hank’s piggish behavior.

“Oh, uh, well...never clean a gun while you've been drinking.” Hank quickly answered with a nervous smile.

“Uh huh, can you tell me why there are bullet holes in the Thompson trailer and none in yours?” Valenti asked skeptically.

“Hell, Sheriff…I can’t even tell you what color sox I have on, let alone something that happened five months ago.” Hank answered bluntly. “Anyway, got an offer from a plant over in Las Cruzes. My lease is up next week, so...I'm hitchin' up the trailer and I'm gone.” Hank informs him as he turns to leave.

“Hank...” Valenti calls out. Hank turns around and waits to hear what else Valenti has to add. “…make it soon.” Valenti advises in a restrained threat.

“Aw, don't worry, Sheriff. I'm already gone.” Hank declares and then leaves with a smile.

Liz’s Balcony

“So, what’s the plan now.” Michael asked as he sat near the ladder.

“I don’t know.” Max answered as he tucked his hands in his pockets.

“You don’t know?” Michael repeated in irritation. “And I’m the one that acts on impulse?” Michael questioned sarcastically.

“Michael.” Isabel warned as she sat on the futon, getting in her prayer thinking position and began to tapping her feet nervously.

“We just blew the element of surprise and you want me to relax?” Michael questioned. “She knows we know and she’s gonna get Nasedo…even with Liz were no match against the two.”

Liz’s Room

“Did you see her face when you blasted her?” Maria giggled with Liz inside her room while Max, Michael and Isabel spoke outside on the balcony.

“Yeah, I was so…it was so invigorating.” Liz said with an amazed smile.

“Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Someone’s power hunger.” Maria giggled pushing Liz back a little. Liz took one of her bed pillows and smacked Maria lightly. “Oh, you are so dead.” Maria declared as she armed herself with a pillow of her own and began a one-on-one pillow fight.

“I like to agree with you.” A voice spoke startling both Maria and Liz. Liz quickly moved in front of Maria to protect her, when she recognized it was Nasedo and then sent one of her green energy balls towards Nasedo. Nasedo waved his hand to change the direction of the energy and sent it swirling out the open window, whisking between Max and Michael, nearly making Michael fall off the balcony if he hadn’t if held on to the upside down U of the ladder.

Liz’s Balcony

“Whoa!” Michael yelled gripping on to the ladder, trying to hold his wieght to prevent him from falling over. “Liz!” Michael yelled in a warning tone, already used to dodging her rogue energy balls when she was practicing. When the three of them looked in the direction the energy swirl came from they saw Liz shielding Maria while a man, Max recognized only, towered over them.

“Liz! Maria!” Max and Michael yelled simultaneously and ran to their aid.

Liz’s Room

“Get away from them!” Max commanded as he, Michael and Isabel held out their hands. Maria and Liz quickly rushed off the bed and hid behind the three.

“You’ve done enough damage don’t you think?” Nasedo asked annoyed.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Michael asked.

“What were you guys thinking? Do you guys have any idea of the repercussions by using the Granilith as a time machine? Do you?” Nasedo asked furiously. Liz couldn’t help but feel responsible, if they were still in their original lifetime, her parents would still but alive…but then Alex would have died…it just didn’t matter what timeline they were in, they were destined to tragedy.

“We didn’t use it. Our future selves did.” Max answered, still holding his hand out in front of him.

“Yes, but you’re changing more then you were sent to. You don’t understand the fragileness of time travel. What did your future self say you had to do?” Nasedo asked.

“To make sure Liz didn’t get shot.” Max answered, trimming the corners of the actually mission.

“She’s alive and well, but you went ahead anyways and continued changing your destiny.”

“Tess is ‘not’ my destiny.”

“And neither is me being bald…but there are thing’s in life you can not change.” Nasedo debated, rubbing the center of his shine head in frustration. Then suddenly a loud pitch shriek was heard followed by a flash of light, causing anything made of glass to shatter. Nasedo quickly covered Max, Michael, and Isabel, who were covering Liz and Maria.

“What the hell was that?” Michael asked, feeling Maria tremble underneath him.

“It’s too late.” Nasedo warned as he slowly made his way to the window and looked at a gulf of flame that was set in what he assumed was Frasier Woods, recalling it when he scanned the map of New Mexico. “It’s too late.” He repeated sadly.

Chapter 16

Quote "To Hav and To Hold" and "Interruptus"

Li'z Room

“What the hell is that?” Max asked as he stood beside the window looking at the flames tear Frasier Woods to shreds.

“It doesn’t matter now…they're coming for us...”

“Who? Who’s coming?” Isabel asked frightened.

“I have to get Tess.” Naasedo announced heading for the door.

“Wait, you can’t leave us here with whatevers out there!” Max exclaimed grabbing Nasedo’s arm to prevent him from going any further. “You’re suppose to protect us.”

“I’m suppose to protect the Royal Four…and I can’t do that with Tess not here.” He said walking out the bedroom door, and then turned at his heel to add to his statement. “Whatever you do. Do not go outside.” Nasedo warned and then left.

“He left us. He left us.” Isabel repeated in shock as she sat on the Liz’s bed and began rocking back and forth in paranoia.

“He'll be back, Iz. He can't leave us…it’s his job to protect us.” Max assured her.

“What abut Alex? He’s all alone.” Isabel asked frightened. “He can’t…nothing can happen to him Max…promise me nothing’s going to happen.” Isabel asked as Max pulled her in a comforting hug.

“He’ll be fine.” Max whispered.

“How do you know that?” Maria panicked. “You said last time, Tess killed him…if something is really coming...he can’t be alone…he just can’t...He’s our responsibility. We made him a part of this again even though we knew what happened to him before!”

“Maria. Maria. It’s okay.” Michael soothed her cries as he held her in his arms. “I’ll go get him.” Michael promised and then pulled away lightly. Max took his cue and stood up to go with Michael.

“Max.” Liz whimpered as she took a step forward in despair.

“”We’ll be back.” Max swore and then followed Michael out.

Pod Chamber

“Tess?” Nasedo called out, finding her in a dark corner hugging her knees.

“Don’t you ever leave me alone like that again!” Tess ordered as she ran to hug him.

“We have to go.” Nasedo announced as he grabbed her arm and headed for the opening.

“Wait, what about him?” Tess asked pointing back to Hank’s lifeless body.

“Take care of him.” Nasedo answered emotionless. Tess looked at him for a moment in hesitation and then held out her hand in the direction of Hank’s body and conjured her powers to cover him with flames. She held her hand out until their was nothing but bone and ash, and then followed Nasedo out.

Whitman Home

“What’s going on?” Alex asked when he opened the front door, seeing Max and Michael more paraniod then he had ever seen before.

“We have to go.” Michael ordered.

“Go where? I thought Isabel said I had to stay away until the Tess thing was over?” Alex questioned as he watched Michael and Max grab his shoes and jacket.

“Alex…trust us.” Max pleaded. Alex just scanned Max for a moment and then nodded, grabbing his shoes and jacket from them and putting them on as he walked out the door.

Liz’s Living Room

“What’s taking them so long?” Isabel asked as she paced back and forth in front of the couch that Maria and Liz were sitting on.

“They’re probably on their way back right now.” Liz answered, trying to calm her down.

“I hope your…”

“Hello Vilandra.” A man greeted from behind Liz and Maria. Liz recognized the man but couldn’t pin it down, and then suddenly a missing persons flyer flashed in her head…Denny Ridgley.

“It’s Khivar.” Liz announced gloomy as the three girls stood close to each other.

Max’s Jeep

“Hey, look.” Michael pointed out to the sidewalk. Max and Alex both look and witness Kyle being attacked by two guys. Max quickly pulls over and runs to help Kyle with Michael and Alex running behind him.

“Get off me.” Kyle demanded as he yanked his arm from one of the guys grips and the flips the other on his back. Max comes from the side and spears the other guy down to the floor, lifting himself up quickly and then punching the guy across the face, causing a piece of skin to fall off. Kyle picked up the fallen skin and watched it disentigrate right before his eyes.

“Skins!” Max yelled, punching the guy again and then turned him over, quickly rising to his feet to give Alex room to kick the metal rod on it’s back, breaking the seal of the husk and watched the guy turn to dust.

“Die!” Michael yelled as he did the same to the other and then stood covered with ash.

“What the…someone please tell me what’s going on here?” Kyle asked in shock.

“You’re not going to faint, are you?” Michael asked, noticing Kyle’s pale face and stunned expression, as he dusted himself off.

“Kyle, you’re safer with us…come on.” Max said pulling him to the jeep. The four of them hopped in and the raced of to Liz’s.

Liz’s Living Room

“You're not here. You're not really here.” Isabel repeated in denial as Khivar approached her, coming around the couch.

“Oh, I am here and I've come for you, Vilandra.” Khivar answered cooly.

“No. I'm dreaming or sleeping or something.” Isabel questioned herself as Khivar stepped closer to her. “No. Stop. Don’t move.” Isabel ordered as she extended her hand.

“I've been searching for you for an eternity.” Khivar confessed, with obsession sparkling in his eyes.

“I'm not Vilandra anymore.” Isabel replied boldly.

“Yes, you are. I can feel it. I can feel it right now.” Khivar whispered in satisfaction as he took a step closer.

“Please, just leave me alone. Vilandra is dead. She doesn't exist.” Isabel cried without shedding a single tear.

“She does. Within you.” Khivar answered. “Return with me, Vilandra.”

“I'm not Vilandra.” Isabel declared, almost sounding as she tried to convince herself more rather than convice him.

“You can be.” Khivar proposed in a mystical tone, taking the final step and wrapping his arms around Isabel. Maria and Liz took a step forward attempting to stop Khivar, but with a simple wave of the hand, he sent the two flying across the room and knocking them unconscious, and then proceeded to woo Isabel. “We can leave all this behind...and all...you...have...to say...is yes.” He whispered before he finally kissed her. Isabel struggled at first, but then a rush ran through her body. Something so unfamilar and familar at the same time coursed it’s way through her viens, and when Khivar finally pulled away, he smiled in admaration when he noticed darkness pooling in Isabel’s eyes.

“Yes. I'm coming with you.” Isabel answered wickedly.

“Good. Let's go home.” Khivar said holding out his arm for Isabel to hook her arm around, just as she was about to do so, she stood stunned. “What's wrong? Tell me.” Khivar asked concerned.

“Max and Michael...they’re coming.” Isabel annouced, sensing her brother and friend approaching. Just then, Max, Michael, Alex and Kyle walked in and stopped dead in their tracks when they saw Isabel cuddled closely with a stranger...her eyes...something that went unnoticed.

“Liz! Maria!” Kyle and Alex exclaimed when they saw them lying on the floor without movement. Max and Michael stepped side ways to where Alex and Kyle were trying to resurrect the girls holding out their hands in warning.

“Let her go.” Max demanded.

“Let us leave. Please.” Isabel begged.

“Isabel?” Max called out in confusion.

“Vilandra.” Isabel corrected.

“Don't make her kill ya again. It would feel redundant.” Khivar spoke with dry humor and then used his powers to conjure a portal, causing a major piece of Li’z roof to be ripped off and disappear into the night sky as a purple spotlight portal shined behind them.

“No...she didn't.” A voice spoke boldly from the door. When everyone turned to look, they saw Nasedo and Tess standing by the door.

“It’s like a family reunion gone ire.” Khivar said with a unamused chuckle. “Let’s go home.” He announced, but felt Isabel resist again. “What?”

“Wait...there's someone else here.”

Chapter 17

Song: If You Could Only See by Tonic

Liz’s Living Room

“Wait…there’s someone else here.” Isabel announced. Max, like the others, scanned the room to see who else was missing. To his knowledge, everyone was accounted for, plus one, so who was Isabel talking about. He didn’t know, but for some strange reason, he felt a presence lingering in the darkness. He looked at Michael and wondered if he sensed it too and watched as Michael began to focus his eyes in the shadows of the rooms, answering his question. The four of them sensed it…but who could it be? Valenti? No. He never felt this vibe from him. The riddle became brain damaging. So many candidates for the mystery guess and all possible threats to them. Max then looked over to Nasedo, who was inching his way to them with Tess gripping tightly to his arm For some unexplainable reason, Max couldn't’t help be feel that Nasedo and Tess knew more than what they were giving off. Thoughts. Crazy thoughts that took a minute of his time and outstretched it to what seemed like an hour.

“Who is it?” Khivar asked, holding Isabel from her shoulders, and then pushing her chin up lightly to look into her darkened eyes.

“You know who it is. She’s close. You feel it. Just like we all can.” Nasedo answered in a dooming voice. Max looked to his human friends to see their frightened expressions and wondered if Nasedo meant them as well. “They can’t feel…but they know she’s there.”

“Who?” Max finally asks.

“You know who…think.” Nasedo pressed, as he circled him like Max was some sort of a bon fire and Nasedo was about to speak in tongues to start a sacred ritual. “Think.”

“We feel it…just tell us who?” Michael ordered impatiently. He had no idea who Nasedo was insinuating, all he could sum up from Nasedo’s bantering was that they could out rule anyone who was human, clearly the visitor was alien.

“Shut it, old man. You’ll kill us all.” Khivar threatened as he looked around just as frightened as they were, not over the visitors identity, but for the mere fact that she was hiding. Lingering in the shadows awaiting for Max to acknowledge her presence before appearing.

“Who?” Max asked faintly and then froze when a blue flash unlike anything he ever seen, flickered in his mind. Eyes. Cold, blue, piercing eyes. Pale skin. The most frightening pair of eyes he had every seen in his life, and was certain he had never encountered eyes like these it in his future life, because a flash like that he would be certain to pass it on to Future Liz. The flash flickered again, this time with a soft haunting voice whispering in his ear, making all the hairs in his arms stand at attention. “Zzzz-aaaa-nnn.” The woman called out in a whisper. “Zzzz-aaaa-nnnn.” The voice repeated. “ZAN!” The voice screeched, as the flash showed the icy eyes widening. Suddenly, all his inherited memories from Future Liz were one by one escaping his head. What was happening? He thought to himself. Who could be doing this? Then when the final flash escaped his mental grasp…Future Max and Liz asleep in each others arms…he fell to his knees and felt tiny hands cup his cheek. When he looked over, it was Liz, but then another pair touched him…Tess. “No.” Max murmured, for some unexplained reason he was out of breath, out of energy, he couldn’t even attempt to swap Tess’s hands away. His body felt so weak. “Get away from me.” Max demanded, collecting all is energy to push her away, making her fall on her butt and hands, and then wrapped his arms around Liz.

“No! You’re suppose to be together.” Nasedo commanded, pushing Liz away from Max and then pulling Tess to Max. “You have to be.”

“Let go of him.” Liz yelled tugging on Nasedo’s arm.

“You. You’re the one that made this happen.” Nasedo yelled as he dropped down on her and began choking her.

“No!” Everyone except Khivar, Isabel, and Tess, yelled, trying to pull Nasedo off of her. With one swoosh, Nasedo managed to send everyone flying, and then returned his tight grip around Liz neck.

“Mmm...aaa...xxx.” Liz choked out, as she tried to get Nasedo off of her. Max scrambled to get to her, but then stopped when the shriek he heard in his vision, echoed throughout the house. Nasedo released his grip, leaving finger impressions around Liz’s neck, and looked beside the portal to see a woman dressed in white.

“What are you doing?” The woman asked. “Get away from her.” The woman demanded as she moved to Liz and helped her up. “Are you okay?”

“Mmm hmm.” Liz answered, and then looked to Max.

“Go to him.” The woman answered, and then moved her eyes to Khivar. “What are you doing?” She asked enraged.

“Stay out of this, Serina.” Khivar threatened.

Serina? Liz thought. Future Future Max told Future Liz that Serina would be a friend of hers. Everything was just getting too confusing.

“Had to make a grand entrance, didin’t you?” Khivar questioned in aggravation.

“Khivar, let her go.” Serina warned.

“Or what, Witch?” Khivar barked back, wrapping his arm around Isabel and moved closer to the portal. “Worry about your precious Zan and your pathetic mission, Witch.”

“What mission?” Nasedo asked.

“You didn’t know, you’re precious Serina here has been working against you. Last I heard, she was practically doing everything she could to keep you two out of Roswell.” Khivar informed him.

“Why?” Tess asked. “For them? For her?” Tess screamed as she took a step closer to Max and Tess.

“Stay away from her.” Max warned.

“WE...ARE...SUPPOSE...TO BE TOGETHER!” Tess yelled from the top of her lungs, making her face turn red from the anger she was unleashing.

“I’m in love with Liz...not you.” Max announced. He was sure his words were surely going to cause her to go over the edge, that she would attempt to hurt him or Liz, but he was wrong. What she did left everyone in shock.

“Ahhh.” Tess yelled in fustration, turning to face Khivar and Isabel and using her powers to blast Isabel into the portal, where Isabel disappeared.

“Isabel!” Max, Michael, and Alex called out, running towards the portal as she fell back trying to grabbed a hold of her, but didn’t make it to her in time.

“No!” Max yelled.

“Thanks, kid.” Khivar spoke with a smirk on his face, and then released his possesion on Denny’s body. Denny fell to the ground and began mumbling as he was regaining control of himself. “Where...am I?” He asked holding his head.

“Alex, Kyle, get him out of here.” Max ordered. Without question the two helped the guy up and took him outside. Max and Michael stalked their way to Tess, who quickly hid behind Nasedo. “You better pray we can get her back...because if we can’t...I’ll choke the life out of you myself.”

“You still can.” Nasedo answered, taking Tess’s hand and then walking into the portal.

“Liz...” Max began to speak, but didn’t know what to say or even how to say it. Liz already knew what was coming. He was going to leave.

“I’m coming with you.” Liz said in tears as she took his hand.

“You can’t. We don’t know what’s on the other side...I can’t...I won’t risk you getting hurt. I would die if something happened to you.” Max confessed as his lips began to tremble.

“Max, I don’t care. I’m coming with you.” Liz declared gripping tighter to him, but Max just gave her a sad look.

"If you're going...you don't have much time. The portal won't stay open much longer." Serina informed them. They all looked at the portal and watched as it dimmed. Serina took a step inside and vanished before them, making the portal get lighter. Michael grabbed Maria's hand and pulled her to stand by Liz.

“Liz, Kyle came with us because he was attacked by skins...I don’t know what’s going to happen...there or here...but I know Maria...Alex...they'll be safer with you here. Max can't go back by himself and you guys can't stay here without protection." Michael told her as he glanced at the portal. "Liz, please, I need you to protect Maria for me.” Michael pleaded. Liz nodded and then looked back at Max in defeat, even if Max agreed for Liz to follow, Alex and Maria would be left behind...and if they came along, there was still Kyle, his father, Maria's mother...so many people.

“I love you.” Liz whimpered, as she gripped on to the whirlwind pendant, and then felt Max's hand cover hers.

“I love you too.” Max responded and then tasted her lips one last time.

“Come back to me.” Maria demanded in tears to Michael, as they said their good-byes.

"Wait for me." Michael answered before kissing her, and then pulled away. Max and Michael approached the dimming portal, grabbed each others hand and then stepped in backwards as the watched Maria and Liz hugging each other, hearing the cries get louder.

"I love you." Liz repeated out loud as she watched Max and Michael slowly disappear.

If you could only see the way she loves me
Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about our love
And what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me

Well you got your reasons
And you got your lies
And you got your manipulations
They cut me down to size

Sayin' you love but you don't
You give your love but you won't

If you could only see the way she loves me
Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about our love
And what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me

Seems the road less traveled
Show's happiness unraveled
And you got to take a little dirt
To keep what you love
That's what you gotta do

Sayin' you love but you don't
You give your love but you won't
You're stretching out your arms to something that's just not there
Sayin' you love where you stand
Give your heart when you can

If you could only see the way she loves me
Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about our love
And what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me

Sayin' you love but you don't
You give your love but you won't
Sayin' you love where you stand
Give your heart when you can

If you could only see the way she loves me
Then maybe you would understand
Why I feel this way about or love
And what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me

The End

There's a sequel!
Flesh…Blood…Bone…Love
