roswellian504 - yes they sensed Liz's distress and they were calling for the connection with Max

Part 11
Why was it you I don’t understand
And nothing shows me why
Maybe some day I’ll see you again
And tell you how much I‘ve missed you
Things happen and know one knows why
If I don’t erase this moment in time
If I had known I would be by your side
If I had known I would have said goodbye
Groups of people surrounded Liz and the twins as they stood at Roswell cemetery almost a week later, but Liz Parker had never felt so alone. Even when she had fled Roswell from Max ten years earlier she was always comforted by their connection and the fact that he was out there somewhere and safe. Now the connection had been turned off so suddenly and abruptly and Liz felt like a half a person with a gaping whole in her heart.
You were always there
Even though it seems your far away
I miss you more than words
I’m missing you more everyday
Where are you in my life
Where’s the song in my heart
Where’s the piece of my mind
And strength for me to carry on
Next to Liz was Isabel who had suffered silently at the loss of her brother, the brother who promised he would never leave her behind because she was his family. She had put everything of herself into being there for Liz and the twins over the past week knowing that would be where Max would want her. But deep down Liz knew she would never forgive her brother for leaving without her.
We will all move on
And you will always stay in out hearts
And any minute that passes by
We wont let the memory fade away
Time will heal a little every day
You were always there
Even though it seems your far away
I miss you more than words
I’m missing you more everyday
Liz sobbed quietly as groups of people that Max had worked with or gone to school with during the course of his education walked forward and placed roses on his coffin. They all believed that his death had been the result of his psycho ex-wife who after realising she had killer her ex-husband turned the gun on herself, if only they knew the truth she thought.
Maria stood behind her, a comforting hand on Liz’s shoulder the other safely entwined in her husbands who had been the pillar of strength for everyone. Through his loss he had no time to grieve instead he had accepted the weight of everyone’s loss and pain on his own shoulders and Maria was watching him crumble beside her as his best friend was being prepared to be lowered to the ground.
Where are you in my life?
Where’s the song in my heart
Where’s the piece of my mind
And strength for me to carry on
There was something
Fate did nothing
There’s a reason
Life must go on
Days will pass by
Tears will find happy memories
Alex stood behind Isabel, hands on her shoulders as he cried his own silent tears and watched as his wife and his mother in-law who sat next to her held each other’s hands like they were each others life lines. The Evan’s had been distraught at the news that Michael and Alex had been forced to deliver, Isabel being to upset and refusing to leave Liz’s side.
You were always there
Even though it seems your far away
I miss you more than words
I’m missing you more everyday
The Parkers stood back slightly with Jim Valenti and Amy Deluca. The birth of their grandchildren overshadowed by this sad moment for everyone involved, including the twins who had cried all week for their father, leaving Liz upset and clueless at how she could explain to her day old children that Daddy had to go away.
Where are you in my life?
Where’s the song in my heart
Where’s the piece of my mind
And strength for me to carry on
Liz stood as the last of the people waiting to lay a flower on his coffin walked off. She picked up the box of things that she had and made her way slowly towards the coffin everyone else standing back and waiting, knowing that if Liz could say goodbye that it was possible for the rest of them.
She knelt down and placed her hand on the dark wood ‘Hi baby’ she whispered.
‘I know you didn’t really believe in God but it helps that I do right now because I know that your looking at me from heaven and your smiling’ she reached into the box then and pulled out a pile of photos.
‘Alexander Maxwell Evans was born first 7 pound 3 and 52cm long at 10.23pm and Claudia Isabella Evans was born 7 pound 1 and 52 cm long at 10.30pm on the same night you left us. Thank you so much for keeping them safe.’ She cried
‘We miss you and love you’ she whispered leaving a photo of his son and daughter and the most recent taken of the two of them.
The group watched in tears then as she pulled out a small teddy bear most of them recognising it as the bear Max had first bought when they found out about the twins
‘They wanted you to have this’ she whispered.
‘I love you so much. I don’t know how I’m supposed to keep going without you. This wasn’t the way it was supposed to be. We were just stating out’ she cried ‘we were going to raise the twins together and be a family’ she sat silently for a moment before reaching up and wiping away the tears.
‘Be happy’ she whispered then before pulling out a final white rose before her small voice started to sing.
Sorry I never told you
All I wanted to say
And now it's too late to hold you
'Cause you've flown away
So far away
Never had I imagined
Living without your smile
Feeling and knowing you hear me
It keeps me alive
Alive
Maria and Alex were the first to step forward then, placing their final goodbyes on the coffin before allowing their voices to join Liz’s.
And I know you're shining down on me from Heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day
Holding her hand out to Michael, Isabel waited for him to take it before they walked hand in hand towards their brother. They were the next to join their voices with Liz.
Darling, I never showed you
Assumed you'd always be there
I took your presence for granted
But I always cared
And I miss the love we shared
The Evan’s and Jim Valenti were the last to join the group. Amy Deluca and the Parkers standing back with the twins watching the close nit group mourn their loss.
And I know you're shining down on me from Heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day
Although the sun will never shine the same
I'll always look to a brighter day
Lord I know when I lay me down to sleep
You will always listen as I pray
Liz looked up at the bright sunny sky. God was looking down on them and she knew without a doubt so was Max.
And I know you're shining down on me from Heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day
And I know you're shining down on me from Heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day
Sorry I never told you
All I wanted to say

Part 12
A month later
Michael watched on concerned at Liz nursed her upset son.
‘Shh Zander we don’t want to wake Claud’ she cooed. Liz had started calling Alexander Zander straight after his birth to avoid confusion between him and Alex.
Her and Max had already discussed what to about it a few months earlier, they were aware that Alex wasn’t alive in Future Liz’s timeline but they never once considered changing the names that had had already been chosen for their children.
After ten minutes of cooing and rocking Liz placed a fast asleep Zander down in his basinet next to his sister.
‘What is it, Michael?’ she asked tiredly.
Taking care of the twins was a full time job and even though everyone was always trying to help most of the time she refused it saying that she needed to learn to do it on her own since that’s probably the way she would be for the rest of her life.
‘Skins’ he told her.
‘What about them?’ Liz asked.
‘They’re here in Roswell and their numbers are growing’ he frowned.
‘What do you mean, there here already?’ she asked her voiced rising.
‘Yes. Liz we need to start training’
‘Oh god’ Liz sighed closing her eyes as she leant against the back of the couch. It felt so nice for the few seconds but then reality came back into focus and she was once again reminded that she was Queen to a race of people she had no biological connection to and that they were expecting her to lead them. Also, the twins who were supposed to be the savior was know where near old enough to be of any help in this situation.
‘We’re going to war, Liz and sooner rather than later’ Michael informed her.
‘No, we cant’ Liz told him.
‘What else do you suggest?’ Michael asked angrily. He understood that Liz was still hurting, they all were but she couldn’t continue to live with her head in the sand.
‘I don’t know Michael but I cant go to war. I’m not an alien and I certainly cant leave my children’ she cried. She had begun to pace now.
‘You might not be an alien but your Queen’ Michael roared.
‘Well you’ll have to go to war without your Queen’ Liz told him.
‘No, that’s not an option. The four is already split and Isabel and I don’t stand a chance without you’ she told her.
‘We don’t stand a chance without, Max’ she cried. ‘I wont leave my children, Michael. I’m all they have now’ she told him.
‘Well you wont have to worry about that if Kivar comes because he will kill them or take them anyway’ he roared. He couldn’t believe the cloud of denial that Liz was living on. ‘We have to fight’ she told her.
Liz fell down into the couch. ‘I cant, Michael’ she cried.
‘I know it’s hard, Liz but we have no choice’ he told her his tone much more softer now. He had put off telling her as long as he could hoping that he would be able to take care of the situation without worrying her but the situation was passed worrying about it was time to panic.
‘Yes we do’ she said softly.
‘No we don’t’ Michael shook his head. He had been over everything, had considered picking them up and running but that wouldn’t make a difference. Kivar would rip the planet apart until he found them.
‘Yes there is’ she whispered again ‘I’m going to fix it’ she told him.
‘What do you mean?’ Michael asked confused.
‘I’m going back, I’m going back and I’m going to fix it’ she sat up.
‘Are you talking about going back going back?’ Michael asked nervously.
Liz shook her head a small smile growing on her lips.
‘Liz don’t be ridiculous we have no idea how the granolith even works and with out Max we have no way of activating it’ he argued.
‘yes we do Michael. I’m the Queen remember and the twins have the seal as well’ she told him.
‘And what about the twins? If you go back they’ll be gone’ he yelled.
‘No for forever’ Liz whispered regretfully ‘I love my children Michael and there the only reason I’ve been able to get up every morning with out Max but you and I both know that we cant win this war without Max, and the twins are only a month old’
‘That still doesn’t change the fact that you don’t know how to use the granolith’ he fired back.
Liz’s smile turned even bigger then ‘yes I do, Future Max was very helpful’ he told him.
‘Oh god you’re serious aren’t you?’ he asked.
‘Yes. I haven’t thought of anything else since the night we lost Max’ she told him honestly.
‘So you’re going to go back to the night that Max was killed and stop Tess?’
‘No’ Liz shook her head ‘that wouldn’t change very much. The Skins will still come and the twins still wouldn’t be old enough to fight.’ She explained.
‘Then what are you suggesting?’ he asked.
‘Think Michael, when did everything turn shit for you guys’ she told him.
Michael looked up at her worriedly, he could answer that question in a heartbeat but he had stopped thinking of it in that way a long time ago.
‘It’s okay you can say it’ she told him ‘it was when Max healed me. It led Nascedo, Tess and the FBI to us all’ she sighed.
‘Max never regretted it. Not for a moment, ever’ he told her sadly ‘he told me once if he could do it over again he wouldn’t hesitate’
Liz felt tears spring to her eyes ‘I know’
‘Okay, so just say I agreed with you what do you plan on doing?’ he asked.
‘Does that mean your going to help me?’ she asked excitedly.
‘No it means your going to help me. Your not going back Liz, your staying here with the twins. I’ll take care of it’ he told her.
‘No’ Liz shook her head ‘it has to be me’ she told him.
‘Why?’ Michael asked.
‘Because me presence will go unknown easier’ she told him.
‘How do you figure that?’ Michael asked confused.
‘Just hear me out’ Liz told him then. She went on to explain to him in every detail her plan. She had spent many thinking about this plan, reworking it when she found an angle that wouldn’t work.
‘So?’ she asked him when she had finished.
‘It’s a good plan’ he told her ‘ but I still think I could pull it off’ he informed her.
‘No. I go in undetected if it doesn’t work then I go to Max.’
‘We have to talk to the others’ he told her then. It was his way of saying yes, Liz knew this.
‘I think it would be better if we didn’t’ she told him. ‘You know Isabel, Michael. She will fight us to let her go and we both know that’s not an option. You two are stronger and will be able to hold the skins off until I can change things’
‘When do you propose to do this?’ he asked her.
Liz turned to the bassinets where her beautiful children were sleeping. They would wake up soon hungry and she needed to be here for that.
‘Can I have a couple of hours with the twins?’ she asked.
Michael nodded ‘we can wait a couple of days’ he told her then. This was the first time since she had started talking about changing the future that she had seemed sad about what she was going to do.
‘No, your said the skins were multiplying. Give me a couple of hours then come back and we’ll head out’ she told him.
‘What will you do with the twins?’ he asked.
Liz sighed ‘They’ll be safest with my parents for now’ she decided and Michael nodded his agreeance.
Michael stepped forward and left a kiss on her forehead ‘you’re the bravest women I’ve ever met. No wonder Max loved you so much’ he whispered before turning and quickly heading out the door.
***
Three hours later after dropping the twins off with her mother Liz and Michael headed out to the pod chamber.
‘Was Maria suspicious?’ she asked breaking the silence.
‘Yeah a little. I told her I was going out to do some more surveillance on the skins’ he said.
‘I’m sorry you had to lie to her’ she told him.
‘It’s ok. You know if I told her the truth she would have insisted on coming and fighting you about this’ he replied.
Liz nodded. He was right that was exactly what would happen.
When they reached the pod chamber Michael opened it and let them in before closing the door again.
‘Are you sure you know what your doing?’ he asked her again. He needed to be certain she knew what she was in for, they couldn’t loose her as well they just wouldn’t survive.
Instead of answering him Liz knelt down and opened a panel on the granolith that Michael had never known existed. After keying in a few things the granolith hummed to life.
‘How did you figure that we wouldn’t need Zander's seal?’ he asked.
‘Because of mine, when they gave me the seal they gave me the same powers of the seal as Max’ she shrugged.
‘Do you think they knew?’ he asked sadly.
Liz shrugged ‘maybe’
‘How long?’ Michael asked her then.
‘About 10 minutes’ she replied.
Michael nodded ‘It’s not to late to change your mind, I can go instead’ he offered.
‘No I need to do this’ she shook her head ‘Just promise me that if something happens and things don’t change that you’ll make sure my parents get as far away as they possibly can with Zander and Claud, ok?’ she told him.
‘Not a problem. I’ll make sure Valenti does everything he can to get them out of the USA’ he promised.
‘Good’ she nodded.
The hum of the granolith got stronger then and Liz knew it was now or never
‘Tell everyone I love them and I’ll see them in a better future’ she smiled then.
And before Michael could respond Liz had disappeared into the base of the granolith and with one more smile and a wave she was gone. The granoliths hum died out about 20 minutes later, Michael refused to leave until then. He hoped that maybe Liz would be back before he even left the cave but after waiting another couple of hours he realized it was getting dark and Maria would send a search party out for him if he didn’t get home soon.
Sighing he made his way back to his truck and headed back to town praying that Isabel and Maria wouldn’t kill him for what he just let Liz do and at the same time praying that Liz would succeed or they were all doomed.

Part 13
Liz felt the molecules separate abruptly when she entered the granolith but the feeling of them melding back together at the pace they did when she was thrown into the past was like nothing she had ever imagined or wanted to feel again. The trip felt as though it had only taken moments and it seemed ironic that it could take moments to travel back 12 years in her life, sad even.
She was also trying to deal with the fact that intense memories of every timeline had filtered through her brain when she had entered the granolith and she couldn’t turn any of them off. She had seen the same things happen time and time again but they would all go off in a different direction depending on what happened to her and Max. She wondered briefly if that was how Future Liz or Future Max 2 new about the original Future Max or vice versa and she also wondered whether she would remember all this when she returned to where ever it was after she changed things.
It was hard watching the way things had turned out in some of the timelines but as painful as it was she realized that she had been right telling Michael that she needed to be the one to do this. Her and Max were the key, it was the same for every timeline, their actions towards each other always effected every one around them.
She needed to make this right for everyone.
When she felt as though her body was back together she slowly opened her eyes and took in her surroundings. She recognized the alley beside the Crashdown immediately and sighed in relief that at least she had managed to send herself to the right place, she just hoped that had managed to get the right day now.
The sound of the side door opening and voices filtering out startled her and she had to dive behind the skip bin abruptly to avoid being seen which turned out to be a good move when she realized it was a younger version of Maria and herself bringing out the bags of garbage.
‘I’m telling you Lizzie, Max Evans is staring at you’ she heard Maria tell her.
‘Don’t be ridiculous Maria, Max Evans this’ Liz knew she was pointing at herself when she said that and couldn’t help but smile ‘I don’t think so’ she shook her head. Liz wanted to laugh she had forgotten how clueless she had been about Max’s feelings for her before he had healed her. Sometimes it was easy to forgot what a pinnacle moment her healing had been, it had been the reason that they all were brought together she just hoped that without it they would still be able to find there way back to each other .
Liz wasn’t worried about Michael and Maria. For some reason in every timeline the two of them seemed to turn out ok. Everyone always referred to her and Max as the soul mates but in reality maybe Maria and Michael were even more so. Isabel and Alex were a little hard to pick, sure Alex still worshipped her but Isabel was still the Ice Princess and without Alex there to break down her walls Liz wondered if they would ever come down.
As for her and Max, time would tell she thought.
The voices left as quickly as they came and Liz sighed in relief. That was close she thought to herself. It had been 12 years for her and she realized her memory of the day was a little foggy but at least she had gotten the right day from the sounds of things.
Liz dusted herself off after standing and quickly made her way out of the alley. Her plan had been to stop her younger self from getting shot but she had a few things she needed to do first, she just hoped that she had the time.
From Maria’s earlier comment she realized that Max and Michael must have already been in the Crashdown along with Liz and Maria so if everything went according to plan then she could complete the rest of her plan without any trouble.
Reaching into her pocket she took out the letters that she had prepared earlier, she was glad that they were still there, she had been worried that they might have not made the trip with her.
The first letter was to herself. Inside there was a picture of her and Max from a few weeks before his death and one of her and the twins that Maria had taken days earlier. In the letter she tried her best to explain to Liz the situation and why she needed to change things the way she did. She explained to Liz about her own life and how it had been effected greatly and badly by Max Evans but that how in the end she knew being without him was far worse then anything she had gone through to be with him.
She had tried to be careful to not put any pressure on Liz though by not telling her about the importance of the twins. Liz would need to make decisions about the course of her life by herself otherwise it would be like Future Max all over again. If Liz chose Max for herself which she believed she would it had to be on her terms. Not for the sake of the world or another planet but because Liz Parker loved a boy who just so happened to be the King of a far away planet.
At least Liz had the advantage of knowing what her younger self was thinking back then. Even though at the time she was dating Kyle, Liz always felt something for Max but he was just so shy that Liz believed he just didn’t see her the same way.
The next letter was to Max. It was by far the longest and it told him everything, she had even gone as far as to photocopy her journals for him so that he would know everything that she did she was so worried about missing something important that she had probably gone a little over board in the end. In his letter she had included the same photos she had in Liz’s a long with every detail she could think about the granolith, its importance and Max’s place in the scheme of things. She knew that the photos would probably knock both Max’s and Liz’s life’s of their axis but that was the effect she was going for. They needed to know they could be happy together.
Hopefully when Max read the letter he would have the courage to approach his Liz she hoped. She told him that Liz was receiving her own letter which would explain his origins and that they should let Maria and Alex into their circle as well. She explained the relationships they all had with each other, along with Kyle and the Sheriff and she encouraged Max to tell his parents the truth that keeping secrets had never helped him in any of the timelines.
She also explained the love story that was them. It had brought a smile to her face to retell the story. It had hurt so much living it but looking back on it she knew it had all been worth it.
The last letter was to Michael, Isabel and Max and it was in the envelope with the letter personally to Max. She wrote on the envelope it should be read together and then to put it away somewhere safe, she suggested a bank volt before going on to tell them how they stupidly buried things before.
The letter said everything. It answered every question that they had ever asked about themselves. It told them the story of Nascedo and Tess and included a photo of Tess with a warning to stay away from her. Liz explained what Tess did in every timeline and told the group that if she ever found them they should never trust her or let her into their lives that they should take her to the granolith and have her powers removed.
It explained all of their powers and how they worked. Along with a letter that Michael gave her which for himself and encouraged him to break down his walls and back up Max instead of fighting him, something Michael had been very guilty of in the early years.
Finally, Liz told them the location of the pod chamber, the destiny book, the orbs, the cave at Riverdogs, the healing stones and the necklace at Atherton’s.
Walking into the post office Liz requested two stamps so that she could mail the letters. She decided that it was the safest way of making sure that they were received without risking being seen sneaking into houses.
‘How are you today Liz?’ Mrs. Smith the owner asked.
‘Good thank you, how are you?’ Liz replied.
‘Good dear, my how you’ve grown up overnight’ she commented then.
Liz blushed, she should have realized her much bigger breasts, and her two inch height increase and wider hips and curves would draw attention. They did at the best of time so why had she not considered that the people in Roswell would notice it.
‘Um thanks’ she said. Mrs. Smith would surely think she had gone crazy when she sees Liz next she thought.
She exited the post office quickly and after putting the stamps on her letters put them in the box out the front.
‘Done’ she said to herself with a smile ‘now back to the Crash’
Liz jogged back quickly to the Crashdown, her plan was to take care of beavis and butthead like Maria had referred to them as, before they even made it inside. As she approached the alley she caught sight of them heading her way.
‘Okay’ she coached herself ‘You can do this’
Closing her eyes she concentrated on the warp, and thanked who ever it was out there that she had the power at that moment. The men walked slowly passed before the first man that she knew was carrying the gun stopped. The man with him stopped as well and watched as though he couldn’t really see what was going on as his companion pulled out the gun he was carrying and threw it into a bin. When they were done they both resumed walking as though nothing had ever happened.
Liz held the gun tightly in her hand. She had gotten into the men’s mind and made them hand over the gun before warping them to believe that she was a bin. Using her powers again she melted the gun until it appeared to be a round ball and discarded into the bin nearby.
Liz sighed in relief then, she knew her plan had been thorough but she never thought it would go as smoothly as it did. She just hoped that there was no problem with the letters and that they would be received well. She knew that the younger Michael would freak initially but eventually he would come around. She was relying on Max and Liz to be the practical pair in the bunch though.
As soon as the men were safely inside the Crashdown she walked around to the front so she could peer through the windows. Her body already felt strange once again. She knew she shouldn’t be looking in, there was still an off chance that her younger self would see her but Liz felt that it was fairly safe at the moment and that in minutes she would no longer exist in this time line. She was nervous about what she would be going home to and if she would have any memories when she did.
The argument between the men started off exactly the way it had before except for this time when the man went to reach for the gun he had in his pants it wasn’t there. He seemed a little shocked at first and Liz could see him looking out the widow as if he was considering where he might have dropped it.
Liz smiled as she watched the worried expression Max had on his face as he watched Liz who was preparing to approach the men and ask them to leave, she never made it to the men though because Max’s hand snaked out to grasp her own, stopping her in her tracks. The man who was yelling yelled one last warning at his companion before fleeing the restaurant suddenly concerned with the amount of attention he had drawn to himself
Liz couldn’t hear what Max was saying to her younger self or what she said back, everything around her became vague it felt as though she was watching an old movie that was flickering. Liz shut her eyes and let it take over her and the next thing the world was black.
A young Liz Parker looked up from her conversation with Max Evans her eyes seeking out something beyond the windows.
‘Are you ok?’ Max asked her startled by her abrupt mood change.
With one last long look and deciding that there was nothing there Liz looked back down at Max and smiled ‘Yeah I’m sorry I just got the strangest feeling that someone was watching us. It was weird it felt familiar’ she explained.
Somewhere in the distant future Liz Parker was returning home, so far her memories were still in tact and she had no idea what to expect when she got there but she could only hope that the future was changed for the better.

Part 14
‘Good morning sleepy head’ faint whispers reached her from the depths of sleep. She wanted to turn over and snuggle into the pillow but the sound of the voice was so familiar and so comforting she found the corners of her mouth lifting and her eyes slowly opening.
‘Hey there cuties’ she heard then ‘mummy is being a big sleepy head this morning you guys must be wearing her out’
Liz bolted upright and her head turned down to her stomach which was sticking out so far that you couldn’t miss it even if you tried, and you would have to try really hard.
‘Hey are you ok?’ the voice asked. Liz took a deep breath before raising her eyes slowly.
‘Max’ she cried before she flew into his arms completely forgetting that she was pregnant. The hug was awkward at first before Max was able to pull her into a more comfortable position.
‘hey’ he whispered ‘what’s wrong?’ he asked concerned when he heard her sobbing.
‘I love you’ she whispered ‘I love you so much please don’t ever leave me’ she cried.
‘Oh baby I love you too and I’m not going anywhere’ he told her running his hand through her hair in a comforting gesture.
A little while later Liz pulled back from the embrace ‘Are you ok?’ he smiled.
‘Yeah it must be these pregnancy hormones’ she sighed ‘I had the scariest dream’ she informed him.
Max moved so that he was sitting next to her against the head board of the bed. ‘Well wifey why don’t you tell me about it?’ he suggested with a smirk. He knew how much she hated him calling her wifey or his women which is why he did it.
Liz looked down at the beautiful rings on her fingers and sighed with happiness, in her dream her and Max had never got the chance to be married. In fact they had spent more time apart than together, she couldn’t imagine a future like that.
‘I don’t think that’s a good idea’ she advised. Max didn’t need to know the horrible things she had dreamed up it would only upset and worry him.
Max stared at for her moment seemingly studying her to make sure that she was really okay and not just saying it. Obviously happy with what he saw he leant in and kissed her, a kiss which Liz eagerly returned. Their tongues tangled together as their lips caressed softly.
It didn’t take long for the flashes to start.
FLASH
Liz and the rest of the group watching a coffin being lowered into the ground
FLASH
Michael telling Liz about the skins attacking
FLASH
Liz and Michael at the granolith chamber and Liz disappearing
FLASH
Watching Tess standing in front of them holding a gun
Max pulled back abruptly. ‘Sweetie what was that?’ he asked.
Liz closed her eyes ‘my dream’ she whispered.
‘Oh god’ he groaned pulling her back towards him. This was the last thing that she needed in her condition and he already told himself he would get Isabel to dream walk her that night.
‘I didn’t recognize the blonde women do you know who she is?’ he asked worriedly. Max believed that dreams came from your subconscious and based on Liz’s dream it was obvious that she was worried for his safety for some reason. Why he wasn’t quite sure. They had never had any trouble with any aliens or governments thanks to the mysterious notes they received over fifteen years ago.
‘I’m not sure, she seems familiar but I can’t place her’ she told him.
‘Baby look at me’ he begged then ‘I’m not going anywhere for a very long time ok’ he told her.
‘I know’ she nodded in agreement, it was just a dream she kept silently repeating to herself ‘we’re growing old together Max Evans’ she smiled slightly.
‘We sure are Liz Evans’ he smiled lovingly back remembering the day of their wedding when Liz had said the same thing to him in their wedding vows. He leaned back in then intending on taking her mouth in another kiss but he caught sight of her face contorting in pain.
‘Liz?’ he questioned concerned.
‘Um baby I think I’m in labor’ she told him excitedly.
‘What makes you think that?’ he asked confused. The twins weren’t due for another few weeks yet.
‘My water just broke’ she smiled gesturing down to the glowing stain on their bedspread.
‘Oh god we’re going to have our babies’ he grinned.
‘Correction I’m going to have our babies so why don’t you help your poor wife out here’ she laughed as best she could between the pains.
8 hours later Zander Michael Evans and Claudia Maria Evans were born, Max delivering his children himself.
‘They’re so beautiful’ Liz said looking at the face of her daughter as she fed her.
‘They sure are’ Max agreed staring down at his son.
‘Do you know what I wish?’ she turned to her husband then.
‘What?’ Max asked her.
‘I wish them the same happiness that I have’ she told her husband
‘Really?’ he asked.
‘Yes. I’ve had a great life, great family and friends and you’ she smiled ‘you’re my best friend, my soul mate and my husband and I cant imagine ever being happier than I am today’
‘Me too’ he whispered ‘growing up I never believed I’d have all of this and I do and it’s because of you’ he replied.
‘Love you’ she told him.
‘Love you too’ he replied leaning down and leaving a lingering kiss on her forehead.
That night the rest of the gang were sitting around the living room smiling and doting over the new arrivals.
‘Gosh there beautiful’ Isabel told her sister.
‘Thank you’ Liz smiled.
‘I can’t believe you were in labor, look at you’ Alex grinned leaning down to kiss his girl.
‘Thank my husbands genie Samantha powers’ Liz whispered.
‘Yeah the day certainly finished better than it started’ Max smiled coming back into the room with Michael and the take out food.
‘Why what happened this morning?’ Maria asked not taking her eyes of the children for even a second; she was envious of Liz and Max.
‘Oh nothing I just had a stupid dream’ Liz shrugged before sitting down and helping herself to some food.
The rest of the group joined her ‘uh huh spill’ Maria refused to let Liz fob it off.
‘It was just stupid’ she shook her head.
‘No it wasn’t’ Max replied offering her a small smile.
‘Liz dreams can sometimes mean a lot more than you think’ Isabel offered then.
Liz hesitated for almost a moment.
‘What was it about?’ Michael asked.
‘The beginning of the end of the world’ she whispered.
The End
