Chapter 10

“Why?” Liz was pacing the living room, she couldn’t believe they were doing this to her now.

“Liz, we can’t get a flight back, we are snowed in.” Nancy tried to calm her daughter down; she knew Liz would be upset that they would be missing her award ceremony.

“This is important and I worked so hard for it and you don’t even care!” Liz shouted into the phone. She was trying to stay calm and act like she didn’t care that her parents weren’t coming home; but she did care.

Max had just closed the door behind him; he was tired and hungry after a long day at work. He put his things down and saw Liz standing in the corner of the room with the phone attached to her ear. He only heard half the conversation as he made his way into the kitchen to grab something to eat.

“Fine! Yes mother! Bye!” Liz slammed the phone down and started to cry.

“Liz, what’s wrong?” Max walked back into the living room after he heard how Liz hung up the phone with her mother.

“My parents aren’t coming. I worked so hard and I won for nothing.” Liz sighed in defeat and made her way towards Max.

“It was not for nothing, Liz.” Max tried to console her but he knew that she was beyond upset that her parents would be missing out on tomorrow’s ceremony. He knew that she had worked so hard and hoped that she would be making her parents proud of her with this.

“It is, Max. I have to show up all alone. I mean how pathetic am I?” She said as she wiped the tears that slide down her cheeks. Max couldn’t resist consoling her, so he wrapped his arms around her and held her close.

“You aren’t going alone, Liz…I’m going with you.” Max whispered out to her. He hoped she would accept his offer and not look at it as pity; he really wanted to be there. Max knew that Liz’s parents were proud of her; he just wanted her to know that he was just as proud.

“Really?” Liz pulled back slightly to look at him.

“Yes, I wouldn’t miss it for anything in the world.” Max smiled and Liz couldn’t help but smile back at him. He just had a way to make her feel better instantly and she loved it.

“Thank you, Max.”

“Welcome.” Max leaned in and kissed her cheek softly before pulling away.

“I have to go take a shower and study for tomorrow’s test.”

“Wait. Did you eat anything, Max?” He shook his head.

“Then I’ll make you something and then I’ll help you study.” Liz wanted to help him, but if she was completely honest she wanted to spend time with him as well.

“Thanks. Meet me in my room in twenty.” She wanted to meet him in his room in ten, that way she might catch a glimpse of him again. It was killing her and she decided that it was time to tell him how she felt.

****

She was a coward, they had been lying on his bed for over an hour and nothing had left her mouth about how she felt.

“What time is the ceremony tomorrow?”

“Oh it’s at seven.”

“So I need to get something nice to wear right?” Max turned to her, he wasn’t happy at the thought of shopping, especially with Liz. He knew her lack of self-control tendencies would wreak havoc on his day.

“Yes.”

“How about after school you take me shopping Ms. Parker?”

“Will do.” They finished studying and shortly thereafter both retired to their rooms for bed.

****

“Liz, we only have two hours before we have to leave the house, can you please pick out a dress already?” Max was whining and he knew it, but they had been in just about every store and Liz had yet to find something she liked.

“I know that, but I gave you time to pick something out for yourself to wear, the least you could do is give me that time.” Liz said as she scrunched up her nose at yet another dress. Max sighed heavily and decided that he needed to start helping her, that way they could cover more ground.

“I am giving you time Liz, but it only took me twenty minutes.”

“Yeah well all of us can’t be born gorgeous you know? Some of us have to take time to not look like the living dead.”

“You don’t look like the living dead.” Max said honestly, did she really think that little of herself, he thought.

Wait!

Did she say she thought he was gorgeous? Damn the day was getting better and he hadn’t even gotten to his surprise yet.

He was flipping through the racks of dresses and found a yellow satin dress, and was just about to ask Liz about it when she ripped it from his fingers.

“Oh my God! Max, this is it! It’s perfect! Thank you!” Liz leaned up and kissed his lips softly. Not realizing what she had just done, she walked away to try the dress on. Max however knew exactly what she just did, she kissed him and now he was standing in the middle of the store like a fool. He should have told her, he had plenty of opportunities to tell her, but he was afraid of what it would mean. He lived with her parents, what would they think? He couldn’t think about that now.

“I’m ready.” Liz said as she exited the dressing room and made her way to the counter to pay for the dress.

Max was still trying to get himself under control; he hoped he lasted the night.

****

“Liz, you look amazing.” Max was utterly speechless, he couldn’t think of a better word at that point. When he saw Liz open her bedroom door wearing the yellow dress he had picked out he was completely enthralled.

“Thank you. Max, you look so good.” Liz smiled despite the fact that she was embarrassed as hell. Max was looking at her differently, and she liked it. Maybe she was wrong, maybe all the kissing they were doing wasn’t just fun, maybe it was something more. At that thought she felt her heartbeat speed up. She knew she needed to get herself together, after all she would be spending the evening with Max and that would be hard enough without those kinds of thoughts floating around in her head.

“Shall we?” Max reached out his hand to her leading her down the staircase. Once inside the car they were driven to their destination.

After Liz accepted her award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement, they had a nice dinner and headed home.

Liz had just taken off her shoes and was grabbing two sodas to bring upstairs to Max’s bedroom, where he was currently getting undressed.

She had just reached the first step when the telephone rang. She quickly ran to it and already knew who it was going to be.

“Hi Daddy.” Liz tried to smile past the tears in her throat.

“Liz honey, I’m sorry we missed it. But we wanted to call you and tell you how proud we are of you. We love you Liz…yes honey we do love you.” Nancy cut her husband off briefly.

“I…I know you do. I just really wanted you both to be there.” Liz let the tears fall freely.

“We know, and we wish we could have been there. Did you go alone sweetheart?” Liz’s mother asked.

“No, Max went with me.” Liz smiled a little, thinking how happy she was to have him in her life.

“Good. We don’t want to keep you up, but our flight should be on schedule tomorrow.” After their goodbyes, Liz let the tears fall and ran up the stairs to Max’s open bedroom door.

Max was sitting at the edge of his bed trying to go over what exactly he was going to say to Liz, when he heard her footsteps running up the stairs. He turned towards the door and what he saw there broke his heart. She was in tears; he had no doubt that the callers a few minutes ago were her parents. He stood up and reached out his arms to her.

Liz crumbled in his embrace. She wished she didn’t let it get to her, but it just hurt so badly sometimes. She reviled in the feel of Max’s warm arms around her, she never wanted him to let her go.

Max pulled away slowly and waited for her to regain some composure. “Liz?” He asked swiping away the tears from her eyes and cheeks.

“Yeah, Max?” Liz tilted her head up at him, what she saw there was a seriousness she had never seen before.

“I just wanted to tell you how proud I am of you.”

“You are?” Liz was a little surprised by his words. It’s not that she didn’t think he cared but to actually be proud of something that she accomplished, meant so much to her.

“Yes. And I got you a present. It’s nothing fancy or anything, but I knew you would enjoy them and that they would make you smile.” Max pulled away slightly to grab the long red box from his bed and handed it to Liz.

“What’s inside?” Liz’s face lit up when she saw that Max had a present for her. It wasn’t that she was being greedy and expected gifts from him, it was the exact opposite. She never expected anything from Max so when he did such sweet things it made her appreciate him all the more.

“Just open the box, Liz. Don’t make it a science project you need to dissect.” Max rolled his eyes playfully at her. He loved the small giggle that escaped past her lips and the feel of her tiny palm pressed against his chest.

Liz looked at the box; it looked familiar but waited to see if she was right until she opened the box. When she did she smiled knowingly at Max and leaned up on her tiptoes to place a kiss on his lips.

“I love them!” Liz said pulling back slightly. Max wanted to tell her once again, but decided to wait. He knew she had a lot on her mind and he didn’t want to bombard her with more information. He wanted to be there for her, however she wanted him.

“Let’s eat!” Liz grabbed the two cans of soda she had placed on the dresser when she first entered his room, along with her box of chocolate covered strawberries.

“First,” Max pulled her towards the bed and they took a seat facing one another. Liz waited intently for Max to begin speaking.

“Don’t eat the whole box, Liz. We have school tomorrow and your parents won’t be happy if you miss it because I let you eat the entire box.”

“Hey! I’m not a child. I know my limitations.” Liz pouted and poked Max gently in the chest. Max only gave her a pointed look before they both started laughing at the truth in his words.

Liz quickly flipped the top off the box and handed Max a strawberry. She then proceeded to eat two strawberries very quickly. “Liz, you need to slow down. I love taking care of you, but it’s been a long day.” Max joked with her, which earned him a pillow in his face.

“That wasn’t very nice to do. After I went through the trouble to get your favorite snack, I want an apology.” Max crossed his arms over his chest awaiting her response.

Liz was busy shoving another strawberry in her mouth when she looked up at Max. She decided to pop the whole thing in and give him her apology.

“Imf sofrey.” Liz said with her mouth full. “That’s really attractive Liz, really I mean how can I guy not fall head over heels in love with you?” Liz finished chewing and said, “Don’t be jealous cause I’m cuter than you.” Liz said just as she popped another strawberry into her mouth.

Max was trying to hold himself together; he wanted to lick the juice of the strawberry from her lips and before he knew it he leaned over the bed and pulled her to him. He sealed their lips together and he practically moaned at the taste of her. Strawberries, chocolate and Liz, nothing would ever taste better, he thought.

Liz couldn’t believe it, it was so sudden but she loved the feeling of his lips on hers. She crawled closer to him and settled in his lap. She ran her hands through his hair and allowed him to devour her lips greedily.

Max couldn’t get enough he wanted to crawl into her body, he wanted to taste every inch of her, he wanted to know what it felt like to share himself with someone. It was too soon, too much and he knew it. So he broke the kiss abruptly. He didn’t want to hurt her feelings but he also knew how easy it would be to get carried away.

“Max…” Liz was out of breath she couldn’t help but gasp for the air that was missing from her lungs. That kiss was amazing, she thought. But why did Max pull away from her so abruptly. As if she had burnt him?

“Liz, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have…” Max was trying to get not only his breathing under control but also his raging hormones. He felt like he was going to explode, being with Liz, just kissing her did that to him.

“Oh, it’s…it’s okay. You just got caught up in the moment or whatever.” Liz finished softly and extracted herself from his lap. She was a fool. He didn’t feel that way about her, she needed to just stop trying to get his attention. They were friends and they would never be…

“No, Liz. Look that’s not what I meant. I just got carried away and I shouldn’t have kissed you, I mean…I wanted to kiss you, but I don’t know if you wanted me to kiss you.” Max rushed out and realized that he sounded like an idiot. He groaned inwardly because he knew that he hurt Liz’s feelings, which was the last thing he wanted to do.

Liz’s ears perked up at Max’s confessions. He wasn’t sorry that he kissed her, he just didn’t know if she wanted him to. She felt the urgent need to ease his worries. “I wanted you to kiss me, Max.” Liz smiled and took a bite out of another strawberry.

Max’s eyes snapped to hers and he sighed in relief. And then he groaned, she was eating another strawberry. He needed to make a mental note to stay away from the strawberries at least for a few days otherwise he would surely attack Liz.

****
The night was winding down and Max could tell that Liz was exhausted. But he could also tell she had something on her mind. “I’ll be right back Max, I just need to change.” Max watched her leave the room. After their kiss she grew somewhat quite, they still joked around but the mood was different. He decided while she was gone to clean off the bed and change as well.

He threw on a pair of basketball shorts and pulled out a gray t-shirt. Since his back was turned when Liz entered the room she stood perfectly still. She loved his body, the way his muscles moved when he barely did anything at all. She wondered what they would feel like while running her hands over them, not in the friendly let me feel your muscles kind of way. No, she wanted to know what it felt like to have his weight over her, pressing her into…

“Liz?” Max said somewhat surprised. When he turned around he found Liz standing staring at him in a somewhat dazed state.

“Oh Max, sorry I should have told you I came back.” Max just nodded and asked her to take a seat on his bed. He wanted to finally get what he’d been holding in for so long out.

“What’s wrong, Max?” Liz was worried. Did he see her watching him? She should have been more careful.

“Nothings wrong, Liz. But I wanted to ask you if you were okay? I mean you seem distant. Did I do something to make you feel uncomfortable or…”

Liz just shook her head. She didn’t want to break down in front of Max. He was probably so tired of seeing her cry. She was pathetic already.

“Tell me, Liz.” Max pleaded with her gently. He saw the tears slip down the corners of her closed eyes and he took a seat beside her.

“It’s like no matter what I do they don’t see me Max, they don’t see how hard I’m trying to get their attention you know? I’m trying to do everything right, I’m trying to be a good daughter.” Liz let out angrily. Max quickly swiped the tears from her eyes.

“You are, Liz.” Max tried to soothe her, but could tell she was beyond upset. She was hurt and he knew it.

“They don’t see it, and sometimes I feel like nobody even loves me.” She shrugged and he quickly pulls her into his lap.

“That’s not true Liz, your parents love you. Trust me if they didn’t they wouldn’t work as hard as they did besides, there is no way that no one couldn't love you.” Tears continued to slip down her cheeks and Max brushed them away while caressing her cheeks softly with the pad of his thumbs.

“Yeah?” Liz sniffled out. Their eyes locked. At that moment she wanted to tell him that she loved him but she was scared he didn’t feel the same way.

“Yes.” Max watched her intently. He would not tear his eyes away from her at that moment for anything in the world. He wanted her to see the truth. How he really felt.

“I just don’t feel like it.”

“I’m sorry, Liz.” This time Max framed her teary eyed face between his hands.

“Not your fault.” Liz mumbled out. She couldn’t take the intense stare from Max much longer.

“Yes it is, because I should have told you.”

“Told me what?” Liz whispered out and licked her suddenly dry lips.

This was it, the moment of truth, he thought. “That I love you.” He waited for her reaction, something. But all he received was a look of confusion, and then it changed into something more.

Liz closed her eyes and leaned in pressing her lips against Max’s. This time she let the tears fall freely, they were not tears of sadness. No, for the first time in Liz Parker’s life they were tears of happiness. They pulled away and rested their foreheads against one another. Max still wasn’t sure how she felt. He was about to ask her when he heard it, clear as day.

“I love you too, Max. So much.” Liz wrapped her arms around him and brought him into another sweet kiss.

This is what heaven is like, they both thought.

Chapter 11

Thanksgiving and come and gone. Liz and Max had yet to define their relationship and that left Liz very confused.

Max loved her, that much she knew but they couldn’t share that with anyone. She couldn’t tell Maria or Isabel and it felt like she was this big secret in his life. Like she was doing something wrong by loving him. She wanted to shout it from the rooftops, but Max was terrified of what her parents would do to him if they ever found out.

Liz was determined to not let her parents destroy the best thing in her life. She just had to convince Max that she was worth whatever her parents were going to throw at him, at the both of them, for wanting to be together.

She hoped that since it was Christmas tomorrow she could talk to him privately. Since her parents return, Max and Liz hadn’t been able to be together alone for very long. It was driving Liz crazy. She wanted to kiss him, but all they had time for were quick pecks on the lips in the morning and before bed. That wasn’t enough. In addition to the fact that when they were at school they had to act like they were just friends. It was quite infuriating to Liz.

Max was frustrated. He didn’t know what to do. He knew that Liz was upset with him for not making their relationship public, but what was he supposed to do? He wasn’t sure of what Parkers reaction would be with him dating their only daughter. Not to mention the fact that they left him alone with their only daughter for long periods of time, very long periods of time. There would be no way for them to accept them dating.

In fact, Max hadn’t exactly asked Liz out. The main reason for that was, if he was dating Liz, then we wouldn’t want it to be a secret. He would want to kiss her in public, hold her hand and tell her he loved her every moment of the day. But how was he supposed to do that living under her parent’s roof?

****

“Liz! Honey! Can you please come down here and help me?!” Nancy called up to her daughter. They were having guests over that evening for dinner and Nancy hated to admit it but Liz was a better baker than she ever was.

Liz was in her room trying to decide on what dress to wear. She had gone shopping earlier in the week with Isabel and Maria to pick out the perfect dress for dinner tonight, and tomorrow. As well as buy the cutest pair of pajamas she could find. She wanted to drive Max crazy. She hoped that would light a fire under his ass.

She was just changing back into her jeans and shirt when she heard her mother call from downstairs to her. She quickly opened her bedroom door and made her way down the hall, only to run directly into Max at the top of the stairs.

Nancy had sent him upstairs for Liz. “Hi.” He said with a bright smile on his face. He hadn’t seen her since breakfast. “Hi, Max. I have to go, my mom called me.” Liz smiled and brushed past him. She knew it would get to him.

“Liz?” He called out from behind her as they neared the bottom of the staircase. “Yeah, Max?” She looked at him and all she wanted to do was throw herself in his arms, but she couldn’t.

“Can we talk later? Tonight I mean, alone?”

“Of course.” Liz smiled and made her way into the kitchen.

Max needed to get out of the house. He would go mad if he had to watch her dance around the kitchen in her cute apron. He groaned and turned to go back up the stairs. Once inside his room he called Alex and Michael and asked that they come over early.

Max needed some advice and he if he couldn’t get that, then a distraction was more than he could ask for. He just hoped it was enough.

****

“So you think I should just ask her?” Max asked as he dribbled the basketball between his legs. The guys had been over for close to an hour and Max had gone back and forth with his feelings.

Michael and Alex felt like they were watching a tennis match. Max’s questions bounced back and forth. His comments and his thoughts were all over the place, they thought he wanted to be with Liz and then it sounded like he didn’t. Now though, he was back to asking her out.

“Yes, Max. Just ask her out. Make the girl happy already.” Alex said as he came to stand beside him. Alex placed a hand on Max’s shoulder trying to get him to relax a bit. It wasn’t working; Max was wrung up so tightly.

“You know Max, her parents are going to kill you right?” Michael said taking a seat on one of the benches.

“That. Michael. Is. Not. Helping.” Max gritted out through clenched teeth.

“Ditto. Look Max, don’t pay attention to Michael. I think he was dropped on his head way too many times as a child. Its like aftershocks or some shit. You said you wanted to be with her, and if you weren’t living under the same roof you would have asked her out right?” Alex asked taking a swig of his Gatorade.

“Yes, but I am living under the same roof.” Max sighed in defeat. Either way he was screwed. If he didn’t officially ask Liz out she would be hurt. If he did ask her out, he could be facing homelessness. He knew deep down they wouldn’t kick him out, but he shuddered to think what they would do. Would they send him away, or even worse send her away? It was all too much to think about.

He really wished he had his mother. She would have the perfect advice for him, but she was gone. He would have to figure things out himself, which was something he was not looking forward to.

****

A few hours later the guests were arriving and as usual Liz was upstairs getting ready. This time however, Maria and Isabel were sent upstairs to get Liz.

Max walked down the hall from his bedroom and across to the other wing of the house. It was a part of the house that rarely anyone used. It was for big parties, the last time they used it was for Liz’s birthday a few months ago. It was still amazing to him that the house was that big and it was very easy to get lost.

When he reached the end of the hall he peaked over the railing to see the room below completely decorated in white lights, red ribbons and an enormously large Christmas tree, complete with twinkling lights and brightly wrapped presents underneath it. He looked up and saw the massive crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. It did look beautiful even that he couldn’t deny.

He descended the staircase and Nancy stopped her bustling around to watch the handsome young man. “Max, you look very handsome.” Max blushed but thanked Nancy just the same.

“You look beautiful Nancy. Mr. Parker is one lucky man.” Max winked and then they both shared a laugh. “I will agree with you, he is lucky. But I think that my daughter is just as lucky.” The smile that was on Max’s face fell in that instant. Did she know? How could she know? Things were already going downhill and the evening hadn’t even started, he thought.

“Relax Max, maybe we should talk.” Nancy looked around and sighed thankfully that her husband wasn’t around. Max just nodded and followed Nancy into the adjoining room. Max looked around as Nancy closed the door behind them. It was another library. This one had twice as many books as the one on the other side of the house.

“Max, I know you like my daughter.” Nancy watched his facial expressions closely. To be young again, she thought.

“I-I do.” Max decided that lying would not make the already difficult situation better.

Nancy wasn’t sure if anything happened with Max and her daughter, so she wasn’t sure of the types of questions she should be asking. So she took a different approach. “Is there anything you want to tell me?”

Max stiffened and then looked up at Nancy. He swallowed thickly and thought that maybe she might be the person he had needed to talk to.

“I love her.” Max said candidly.

Well that was more than Nancy had bargained for when she asked Max into the room. But decided it was best to approach it at his pace. He apparently had a lot on his mind and she didn’t want to deter him.

“And Liz knows this I assume?” Nancy crossed the room to take a seat beside the young man.

“Yes. I told her. But now I just feel confused.” Max tried to explain but found it very difficult to find the right words. This was after all Liz’s mother.

“Max, I know that I’m her mother, but I want you to know that I love you like a son. And I want you to feel comfortable coming to me with anything. I’ll never turn you away, you know that right?” Nancy placed a hand on his shoulder.

“I know. It’s just that she wants me to just burst out to you and Jeff that we want to date but how can I do that? I mean you are her parents and I am living here, that won’t work.” Max sighed in defeat. The situation seemed impossible.

“That does present a problem. Look Max, since you’ve come into our lives my daughter has been the happiest she’s been in a long time. Mr. Parker and I are not naïve and we know how she looks at you. The way she’s looked at you since the day she first saw you.” Max’s eyes shot up at Nancy’s. What did she mean? They saw it too? This was getting worse by the minute. He just might have to spend Christmas alone in his room.

“Relax Max. We have been away for so long and we know what it did to her. We can’t take it back so we have to make some decisions that under normal circumstances we wouldn’t. Mainly because we created the situation, we created her unhappiness and as much as we wish we could close our eyes and pretend, we can’t. We love her more than she probably even knows, and we are trying…”

“I know you both are. I mean I know I haven’t been here that long, but I see a change. Liz is a very emotional person, and I don’t think that had anything to do with you, it’s just her nature. She wants the simple things in life, that’s what makes her happy and I personally think that has everything to do with both you and Mr. Parker.” Nancy was taken aback slightly. She knew that Max was wise for his age and she knew that he had to experience things in life, she could only wish her daughter never had. But she had no idea how wide his eyes were open to the real world.

“Thank you, Max. Sometimes I feel like I’ve lost her forever, but then every now and again Jeffrey and I get glimpses of our baby girl. We normally would not support a relationship for Liz in any way with any boy. However, we know that we have to sit back for a little while at least and let her enjoy this part of her childhood. We don’t have the heart to take that away from her.” Max felt like a boulder had been lifted from his shoulders. He and Liz could be together.

Nancy saw the flicker of hope in the young mans eyes, but decided there was a little more they needed to talk about. “I need you to be careful with her Max, we both do.” Nancy was not planning on having this conversation without her husband present, but felt that it was the perfect time to discuss it.

“I will. I promise.” And he truly did, Nancy believed that with all her heart.

“I’m not so much worried about you Max. I’m worried about Liz.”

“Liz? Why?” Max’s eyebrows knitted together in confusion.

“Max I see her with you, and as I said before from the moment you walked through our door she fell for you even if she didn’t realize it. You make her happy and I’m happy, but you’re young and so is she and things happen Max.”

“Nancy I know they do…but they haven’t if that’s what you want to know.” Nancy breathed a sigh of relief but she wasn’t naïve.

“Max you are alone with my daughter for days on end I know something is happening, but I trust that…it hasn’t progressed. I’m just asking you to wait.” Nancy felt somewhat awkward, but pushed that aside and focused at the matter at hand.

“I figured you’d want me to leave.” Max mumbled out softly.

“Leave?”

“Yes. I love her and…eventually things will progress so I won’t lie.” Max knew that things were going great and he could have just potentially ruined what he had with Liz, but he needed to be honest.

“And Liz will jump in feet first when it comes to you, this I know just by watching her watch you.” Max blushed.

“I know, but I would never hurt her.”

“I know you wouldn’t. That’s not what I meant. I remember what it was like to be in love Max…for the first time and it’s consuming and it’s perfect and beautiful. More importantly though, it’s easy to get carried away.”

“I understand.” Max nodded. He knew what she meant. It was easy to get carried away especially with Liz. But so far he was doing a great job holding back. Wasn’t he?

“Do you? Because Liz can get her way Max she’s really good at it.” Nancy smirked just thinking about her daughter. Liz could get her way and once she knew you, she could use every trick in the book to get you to do what she wanted. Nancy smiled thinking back to when Liz was a little girl and wanted to stay up late, she would beg. Then she would throw the puppy dog eyes and then for the finishing touches she would begin to let her bottom lip tremble and then the tears. Oh when she let the tears go, her and her husband were defenseless.

“I know she is, I love that about her though. Even if I don’t want to do something she manages to get me to.” Max smiled at the thought of how Liz would pout and then she would let her bottom lip quiver, but that’s as far as he let her go because he was giving into whatever she wanted after that.

“Exactly. Look Max. you are smart and you have a great future ahead of you, so does Liz and I know that even if you didn’t live here, that wouldn’t stop her from seeing you. Just be careful.”

“I will.” Max promised.

“Very well. Let’s get to the party. I’m sure my husband and Liz are looking for us.” Nancy stood and allowed Max to escort her out the room.

****

Dinner was in full swing and Max couldn’t tear his eyes off of Liz if he tried. She looked absolutely amazing. The dress she wore and the way her hair flowed freely down her exposed back was enough for him to want to take her in his arms and kiss her breathless. Of course he didn’t. Instead he sat next to her at the dinner table and tried to pry his eyes off of her.

Liz knew she got to Max the moment she descended the stairs. She knew she picked the perfect dress. It was a red satin strapless full flared gown with a split down the side, which was white dull satin. There was also a rhinestone starburst accent on the side where the dress split. Her hair was loose and curled, but she had the stylist strategically place little red rhinestones all through her hair.

After dinner they moved into the main room where the party was being held. More guests had arrived who did not attend dinner, which gave Max and Liz a moment alone.

“Are you trying to give me a heart attack at the tender age of sixteen?” Max whispered in her ear. He had searched the entire room but couldn’t find her. Then finally he spotted her by the Christmas tree.
As soon as she felt his warm breath against her neck, she shivered with anticipation. She wanted to wrap her arms around him, but she couldn’t. Instead Liz turned and faced Max.

“Whatever you do mean, Mr. Evans?” Liz teased lightly.

“I mean you look amazing, Liz. You take my breath away literally.” Max smiled and kissed her cheek softly.

“Max, my parents are watching.” Liz blushed but stepped away slowly. What would they think? It was Christmas and she didn’t want to ruin everything. Although, she had been more than determined to make Max ask her out this morning, tonight she realized what a mistake that would be. He was only trying to protect her, so how could she be upset with him? It was after all a very complicated situation.

“I know they are.” Max smirked and waited for her reaction.

“They…you…how?” Liz was confused.

“I’ll tell you later, for now I’d like to dance with the most beautiful girl in the room.” Max smiled and held out his hand to her. Liz wasn’t sure what was going on, but she could deny him nothing. She placed her hand in his and allowed him to lead her to the center of the room.

They stood facing one another, and the music began. Liz opened her mouth to ask him what was going on, but Max beat her to it. “Just close your eyes Liz and dance with me.” Liz smiled and then because she trusted him, she closed her eyes.

Max drew her closer by wrapping his arms around her waist and waited until he felt her relax against him.

“Liz?” Liz raised her head slowly and opened her eyes.

“Hmm?”

“I love you.” Liz smiled, “I love you too.” And with that Max closed his eyes and kissed her softly. No more than a feather light touch of his lips against hers was enough for her to fall even more in love with him at the moment.

As they began to sway to the soft piano playing in the background, they closed out the rest of the world around them.

And that moment was theirs and theirs alone. No one could take that from them.

A/N - First of all I wanted to say Hello, to the new readers! And I know some of you are worried about the angst factor, but as I stated in the beginning this will be *fluffy* with a little *drama* which will be few and far between. Thank you all so much for the feedback and I'm so happy you are all enjoying

Chapter 12

Once the party died down Max knew that Liz was aching to know what he was keeping from her. Luckily after the guests left Jeff and Nancy asked that they have a moment alone with Liz.

Max was grateful for the reprieve he needed to wrap Liz’s present. He had bought it a month ago, but he wasn’t able to wrap it without her seeing. He went to his room and changed quickly into a pair of khaki drawstring pants and a white t-shirt. Then he went into the very back of his closet and pulled out her present as well as two rolls of wrapping paper. He just hoped it would be enough.

“Mom, Dad. The party was excellent!” Liz said as she bounced into her parent’s bedroom. She still had on her dress when she jumped into her parent’s bed taking a seat between them.

“We’re happy you enjoyed yourself Liz.” Nancy said running her hands down her daughters arm. It felt good to be next to her again.

“I did! Everyone did! This is turning out to be the best Christmas ever!” Liz turned and pulled her mother and then her father into a tight hug. Both Jeff and Nancy looked over their daughters shoulder and smiled. Nancy held back her tears; it had been so long since she felt that kind of hug from her daughter.

“So what did you want to talk about?” Liz asked with a huge smile on her face. She couldn’t wait to see Max.

“Actually, we wanted to…” Nancy couldn’t do it. She didn’t want to take the smile off her daughters face. Not tonight, she thought.

“We wanted to say that we love you and that you look so beautiful. So grown up. And that we are so proud of you.” Liz smiled past her tears and hugged her father.

“I love you both, too. I know that I spend a lot of time angry with you, but everything worked out didn’t it?” Liz looked to her mother and then her father. She knew they wouldn’t understand. Liz had a feeling that what Max would tell her later had to do with the fact that her parents accepted the way they feel about each other. At least that’s what she hoped for.

“I guess what I mean it that, I never say thank you for what you do for me. I never want for anything material but I do feel at times you both don’t care about me. I know deep down inside that that’s not true, and I see you both trying. I know what sacrifices you have both made in your life for me and I know I’m really lucky to have you both. Some people aren’t as fortunate, it might not be perfect but I do have a good life. And it only seems to get better with time. Sometimes I just have to be reminded that you are both human, and you’re not perfect just like I’m not. So thank you, both of you.” Liz wiped the tears from her eyes. She didn’t know where that all came from, but she knew who made her realize it. Max. He meant everything to her.

Jeff and Nancy were beside themselves. Nancy cried and pulled her daughter into a tight embrace and told her how much she loved her. And Jeff, well he knew he had one person to thank for opening his daughters eyes and heart again. Max. He meant more to this family than Jeff gave him credit for.

“I’m sorry. Was there something else? I want to wrap Max’s Christmas present up before bed.” Liz stood and looked at her parents. She really did love them.

“No, honey. Have a goodnight. We’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Night!” Liz closed the door behind her and practically ran to her room. She saw that Max’s door was closed so she figured now was the perfect time to wrap his present.

When their daughter left, Jeff and Nancy just sat staring at one another in amazement. “Who was that and what did they do with our daughter?” Jeff said and then Nancy burst into a fit of giggles.

“I don’t know but I couldn’t be happier.”

“Me too Nance. We have some serious talking to do huh?” Jeff looked to his wife. They had originally wanted to talk to Liz about a relationship with Max and that she needed to think about the consequences that were involved. But when they saw her face followed by her admission, they didn’t have the heart to tell her.

“We do. I did speak with Max and he says that he loves her.”

“Do you believe him?”

“Yes. And that scares me. Max isn’t the type of boy that falls in love everyday. I knew Diane and I know that she taught him about being in love, and so I know he takes it seriously. I just never thought he and Liz would…”

“Fall in love?” Jeff finished for his wife. He didn’t like the idea of Liz falling in love. She was only sixteen but how could he break his daughter's heart?

“Exactly. Honestly, I look at Max and I see a sixteen-year-old boy, but when I talk to him, it’s like I’m talking to a grown man. I know he was the one that talked to Liz about her relationship with us. I don’t have the heart to hurt them. But I don’t want them moving too fast either.” Nancy was worried; she knew that Max and Liz were not your average high school crushes. It was something more even she couldn’t deny it.

“Nance, she’s my daughter and I told you when she was born that I didn’t want her to date until she was forty. But I have to agree with you, Max is something else. And I knew Diane, not as well as you but just the same she was an amazing woman. To raise a son in that house, although it wasn’t always bad, but he’s seen so much pain and anger. It blows me away to know that after everything, after almost dying by the hands of his father and finding his mother dead, that he’s so compassionate and caring. I don’t want anyone dating my daughter, but how can I deny him? He’s never given us a reason to doubt his intentions. And I trust him, which leaves me with very little options.” Jeff let out a long sigh and dragged his hands down his face. Nancy knew what her husband was referring to. That was his only daughter; he wasn’t ready to let her go. But at the same time, how could he stand in their way?

“What do we do?” Nancy asked her husband.

“We could tell her and Max that they can’t see each other. But that would only serve to make Liz angry with us and I just feel like we got her back, so that is not an option. Honestly, I have no idea.” Jeff laid back against the bed and Nancy rested her head against his chest.

“I’ll talk to her. I just want to make sure if something happens between them, that she’s responsible.” At that Jeff tensed up.

“Are you telling me they are…” He couldn’t finish the sentence. That was too much. His daughter was having sex? No. He didn’t want to know about it.

“No. No honey. I just want to make sure that when and if they do, Liz is prepared.”

“Do you,” he swallowed thickly, “think they are at that stage?”

“I don’t. In fact Max hasn’t even asked her out. I think he’s still afraid of your reaction even though I told him how you felt. He respects you Jeff, but he’s also terrified.” Nancy couldn’t hold back the laugh that bubbled forth. Jeff looked down at his wife and joined in her mirth.

“That’s good. So long as he stays terrified we have a while before things progress.”

****

Max had just finished wrapping Liz’s present. He needed to work on the second part of her present. But that would have to wait until later when she was sleeping.

Minutes later he heard a soft knock on his door. He knew it was Liz and he was excited to finally have some time with her alone.

“Hi!” Liz said lunging herself into his arms. Max caught her quickly and pressed his lips heatedly against hers. “Hi. Missed you.” Max managed before he slid his tongue in her mouth deepening their kiss.

“Me too.” Liz smiled against his mouth and allowed him to carry her into his room. When they reach his bed he let her go and she fell back against the mattress.

“You look adorable.” Liz smiled, “I do?”

“Yes. Look at you with your red silk nightgown and Santa hat. You couldn’t get cuter if you tried.” Max smiled. She was his he couldn’t believe it.

“I am aren’t I?” Liz smiled and pulled Max down on top of her. She placed her arms around his neck and kissed him softly.

“You look great.” She smiled and began to nip on his neck and then his earlobe. Max was slowly loosing grip on reality. Her warm soft lips against his skin made his body come alive instantly.

Liz felt it, the moment that part of him she had never touched before, came to life. She couldn’t help but press her hips up into his eliciting a moan from his mouth.

“Liz…baby we have to stop.” Max pulled away and rested his weight on his elbows. He wanted her but now was not the time.

“You’re right. So you want to tell me what’s going on?” Max rolled onto his side and ran his hand down her exposed shoulder and arm.

“Your mom and I talked. And in a nutshell she and your dad are okay with us being together.” Liz sat up quickly and blinked a few times and then turned to Max.

“Really? She told you that? I don’t believe it!” Liz quickly rolled onto Max once again. She peppered his face with kisses.

“Yes really. But Liz we have to go slow.” He tried to reason with her softly.

“I know that Max, but we aren’t doing anything.” She kissed him again.

“Yet.” He pulled away and raised his eyebrow knowingly at her.

“Yet…right.” Liz smiled and rested her head against his chest closing her eyes.

That is where she fell asleep. Max had lifted her up and carried her to her bedroom. He could finally finish with his present.

****

The next morning Liz opened her eyes and noticed that her bedroom was a lot brighter than normal. She rolled over and her eyes opened up widely in surprise.

In the center of her bedroom was a Christmas tree. Her very own Christmas tree, she always wanted one. And underneath were so many presents. She rushed off her bed and kneeled in front of it shaking box after box.

“Why don’t you try opening one before you break something?” She turned somewhat startled and saw him standing leaning against the doorframe.

“Merry Christmas, Max!” Liz jumped up and into his arms. She kissed him quickly, morning breath was not something she was ready to share.

“Merry Christmas, Liz. Now go run to your presents.” Max put her back down on her feet and watched as she skipped back over to her tree.

A few minutes later Jeff and Nancy came up behind Max. “So she loved it or what?” Jeff asked placing a hand on Max’s shoulder. “Oh yeah, she’s been ripping through presents for a good twenty minutes and hasn’t come up for air yet.” They all burst out laughing and that finally grabbed Liz’s attention.

“Hey! Are you talking about me?” Liz pouted. Max was helpless. “Aww, Liz we are only kidding.”

“No, you’re making fun of me and I don’t appreciate it!” Liz began to blink rapidly, she was only messing with them, but they didn’t need to know that. Max saw her sad face and quickly entered her room and kneeled down in front of her.

“Liz, we were only kidding. Now hurry up with your presents. I still have to give you mine.” Liz blinked and a big smile stretched across her face.

Jeff and Nancy watched as their daughter quickly recovered and wrapped her arms around Max. They knew they couldn’t keep them away from each other, it would be wrong.

“I have to give you mine too, Max.”

“So, hurry up princess.”

Liz glared at him and went about unwrapping the rest of her presents from her parents. Jeff and Nancy took a seat on the edge of their daughter’s bed and watched as her face light up with each gift.

It was definitely turning out to be a very merry Christmas, they thought.

****

They ended up having breakfast before Max and Liz exchanged presents. Now they were both sitting in Liz’s room in front of her Christmas tree. “So are you going to open your present?” Max asked Liz who had suddenly grown quite.

“Liz? Are you okay?” Max reached out a hand to her and rubbed her arm softly. Liz was suddenly very nervous about the present she got Max. What if he didn’t like it? It was their first Christmas together and he was making it perfect for her. What if…

“Baby, talk to me.” Liz’s eyes snapped up and met Max’s. She smiled and she knew that he would love it.

“I’m okay. I just…I’m really happy Max. Thank you.” Liz leaned over and kissed his lips gently before tearing into her rather large present.

“Oh Max! I can’t believe it!” Liz jumped to her feet to try and rip open the box to her new telescope and Max watched her and couldn’t help but laugh at her excitement.

“So I take it you like the present?” Max asked coming to stand behind Liz. He dropped a kiss on her shoulder awaiting her response.

“I love it Max! I have always wanted one and I don’t know I never asked my parents for it, but it’s…perfect Max. Thank you.”

“Merry Christmas, Liz.” Liz turned and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his mouth with an urgency she had never felt before. She never wanted to let him go, never wanted to be without him in her life.

“Merry Christmas, Max. Now it’s time for you to open your present.” Liz reached out her hand to him and they both kneeled in front of the tree. Liz reached forward and grabbed a large thin square box and handed it to Max.

He wasn’t sure what was inside but he knew that since it was from Liz, that he would love it no matter what. He carefully pealed off the wrapping paper as Liz watched his face closely. Once he removed the paper from what appeared to be a picture frame, he turned it over in his hands and froze.

Was he still breathing? Liz wondered. Did she make a mistake? She quickly reached out her hands to take the frame from his hands but the stopped her. “No, Liz.” Max whispered out. He slowly dragged his eyes from the frame in his hands to Liz, the love of his life. “I…its amazing Liz. Thank you.” Max said pulling her against him quickly and kissing her breathless. His eyes were filled with unshed tears, and Liz quickly framed his face in her tiny palms. “You’re welcome. Love you.” She kissed him once again before pulling away and allowing him to really look at his present.

“I love you too, Liz.” Max tore his eyes away from the beauty sitting beside him to look at what he was holding. There were so many pictures, of his mother and him. Some from when she was younger, some from when she was pregnant with him, others from when he was born with him on her lap. Dozens and dozens of pictures, it was a timeline of his life with his mother that Liz made into a beautiful collage. He knew she made it. There was writing along the sides in her perfectly neat handwriting. The frame that held it all together was engraved, Max traced the words and closed his eyes remembering the first time he heard those words.

“Live life. Live happy.” Max whispered out. When things started to go downhill for their family, Max was confused he didn’t understand what has happening and why for that matter. Diane had pulled her only son onto her lap and whispered those words to him. She told him that no matter what happened, no matter how bad things got to remember those two important things. She told her son that life was short and you had to make the most of what you had, and that there was always more good than bad no matter how bad you thought you had it, someone had it worse.

“She always told me the same thing whenever I was upset, be happy Max. Life is truly a gift.” Max whispered out once more, this time he couldn’t hold back his tears.

“I miss her so much, Liz. Sometimes I feel like I can’t breathe and I just need her so much.” Liz removed the frame from his hands and crawled into his lap. She wrapped her arms around him and held him until he was ready to let go.

****

In the hallway, just a few feet away Nancy and Jeff watched silently the exchange between the two teens. And their hearts broke for Max. They knew now more than ever that what Max was trying to bring to their family was something he longed for, happiness.

They knew he loved their daughter with everything he was and that he was only truly happy with her. It was time they started acting like a family and cherish the things they had because they knew how quickly things changed. And that with a blink of an eye, everything they loved could be gone.

****

Max pulled away and looked at Liz. He knew that he never wanted to be with anyone else. He knew he wanted her to be his family, he wanted a family with her in the future and he would never let anyone come between them.

“I know I tell you that I love you, but I want everyone to know it. So, Liz Parker will you go out with me?” Max let a small smile pass his lips awaiting her answer.

Liz’s eyes grew wide. Was it really happening? She closed her eyes and said a small prayer before allowing one of the biggest smiles she could make form on her lips. “Yes!”

“Good because I wasn’t taking no for an answer.” Max pulled her back to him and held her for what seemed like hours.

‘I’m happy Mom and I’m living,’ Max said silently to himself as he closed his eyes and held Liz tighter.

A/N - You guys are amazing with your feedback. I'm so happy that you are enjoying this. I'm having a fun time writing it as well. Now I'll post the same note I did on *Sins*...I'll be in Philly next week so I won't guarantee that I'll be able to update this before I leave, but as soon as I return I will

P.S. Someone asked how long this was going to be...right now I have the entire outline done and so far it looks like it's going to be a full 40 Chapters, so sit back and enjoy, we're going to be here a while LOL!

Chapter 13

A few weeks later, things were still going great in the world of Max and Liz. Now that they were officially dating, they were free to hold hands at school and kiss in public, which if she was honest Liz loved. Especially when they were in the hallway during the morning rush, she would just kiss Max and watch, as all the girls got jealous. Liz was proud that she was able to snag someone as wonderful as Max.

In addition to which her parents started to make themselves more present in her life since Christmas. Something Liz was also very happy about. She still wasn’t able to speak to her parents as candidly as Max seemed to be able to, but she was trying.

“Hey what are you guys doing tonight?” Michael asked as he took a seat on the bench across from Max and Liz during lunch that Friday.

“Nothing. We were going to probably watch a movie or something, why?” Max asked somewhat distracted. And he had every reason to be. Liz, his girlfriend was slowly driving him crazy. She was running her hands up his legs under the table, which made it almost impossible for Max to concentrate on anything other than her hand getting very close to his…

“Hello! Earth to Max!” Max straightened up a bit before turning to Michael. “Sorry, man what did you say?” Max turned to Liz who simply dropped her head and blushed.

“Oh man! Seriously these public displays are killing me. Maria is up my ass about it, so can you cut it out for ten minutes until I’m done?” Michael threw his head back and waited until he heard both Max and Liz agree. “Good. Now I was asking if you both wanted to come over to my place until tomorrow, my parents are out of town and I could use some distraction.”

“What’s wrong Michael?” Liz leaned over the table and reached out her hand to him, she could see he was clearly stressed out.

“It’s my Dad, you know how he is. I’m a junior in high school the last thing I’m thinking about is what college I’m going to apply to. But for him he wants me to decide now, he wants me to go where he wants me to and at this point to piss him off, I don’t want to go to college.” Michael shrugged, trying to act as if he didn’t care what his parent’s thought of him, while deep down Liz knew he cared.

“Don’t stress yourself out. Max and I will come over and we’ll all have a good time.” Liz smiled and Max just watched in amazement how she managed to get Michael to smile when only seconds ago he looked like he was going off the deep end.

“Good!”

“What’s good?” Maria followed by Alex and Isabel took a seat beside Michael.

“That Max and Liz are going to make it tonight.”

“Really! That’s great! We are going to have such a great time.” Maria squealed in excitement.

“Okay, my place at eight. I’ll make sure the maid gets the bedrooms ready.” They all sat and ate their lunch while listening to Maria rattle on about some guy in her gym class.

Max and Liz however were still stuck on what Michael had just said. Bedrooms. Meaning that Max and Liz would be sharing a bedroom, alone…with no parents to interrupt. It was going to be an interesting evening to say the least, they both thought.

****

“Mom come on, please.” Liz had been working on her mother for the past two hours. Her and Max were supposed to be leaving for Michael’s in twenty minutes. And where was Max? He was playing basketball outside. What a great help he turned out to be, Liz thought sarcastically.

“Liz, if his parents were going to be there then fine. But they are not home and I don’t think it would be a good idea for…”

“For what? I’m not a child Mom. Max and I aren’t doing anything. In fact we might be dating but I haven’t gone out on a date with him as of yet.” Liz let out angrily before she realized what she had just revealed to her mother. She groaned inwardly at the thoughts that might be running through her mother’s mind.

Nancy looked up from her book when she heard the sadness in her daughter’s voice. Was it true? They were dating everyone knew, but did they not physically go out on dates? That may be true but Nancy and Jeff were out of town for just two weeks and when they returned she had noticed that they didn’t go out much. She wondered why, but never asked, until now.

“I don’t know. Max and I have a great time don’t get me wrong but we have not gone out on a date, ever. I wonder if maybe he’s…” Liz didn’t want to finish that sentence. She knew it wasn’t true but sometimes she felt like it was.

“If he’s what?” Nancy pressed.

“If he’s ashamed to be with me? I am short and I don’t have a lot going on in the chest department and…”

“Liz! Stop right there young lady. You know Max better than that, hell I know Max better than that. He loves you baby, everything about you and I’m sure if you asked him he would say that you were perfect, because you are. Don’t worry Liz, this is all new to him I’m sure he’ll come around soon.” Nancy tried to comfort her daughter without letting on that she now had a pretty good idea of what Max’s problem was.

“Can we go, Mom?” Liz sat back on the couch and decided to ask one last time.

“Yes honey, you can go. Just be careful. I trust you Liz.” Nancy warned her.

“I know. Thank you!” Liz kissed her mother’s cheek before racing out back to Max.

****

Things were not getting better. He didn’t know what to do with himself half the time she was around. He was always looking for an excuse to be near her parents or their friends, because he could NOT be alone with her.

Now tonight, they were going to be sleeping in the same bed together. With no one to stop them, or him from doing what he wanted with her. Max groaned out loud.

Maybe Nancy would hold firm to her first answer of them not being able to go. But then he thought about it for a minute and realized that it was Liz he was talking about, she could make him do anything so Nancy didn’t have a chance.

A few minutes later he heard he backdoor slide open revealing Liz.

“Hi.” He smiled down at her and kissed her cheek softly.

“Hey. So my Mom said we can go. Go get your stuff and Andre will drive us over.” Liz smiled, she had to run upstairs and pack something special for tonight that she picked up at the mall last week with Maria and Isabel.

Max swallowed thickly before nodding and making his way into the house trailing behind Liz.

****

Nancy had to laugh to herself when she saw Max enter the house behind Liz. Now she knew more than ever that she was right. Therefore, she went in search of her husband.

Jeff was in his study going over some last minute paperwork before he and his wife headed out to dinner.

“Jeff, I need to speak with you a moment.” He looked up at his lovely wife and smiled. He knew he was lucky to have her in his life. “Speak to me my wife.” Jeff said and waited for Nancy to blush.

“Stop it. You are making me embarrassed and we have been married too long for that to happen any more.”

“Nonsense, it keeps things interesting, no?” Jeff stands up and wraps his arms around his wife before leading her to the couch across the room.

“So what did you want to talk about?”

“Max.”

“Max?” Jeff raised an eyebrow in confusion.

“Yes. I think he has a problem.”

“What? What kind of problem? Is he okay? And why am I just finding out about this?” Jeff fired off the questions and Nancy had to laugh to herself for a moment.

“You love him like a son and it’s just amazing to me.”

“I do. He’s made my life better, this family better. So please stop with the suspense and tell me what’s wrong with Max?”

“He hasn’t taken your daughter out on a proper date.” Jeff looked at his wife in confusion, then it hit him.

“Oh, so you were right then? He is still hesitant about going out with her because he doesn’t think we really approve of it.” Nancy nodded.

“So Mr. Parker what are you going to do about it?” Nancy stood from the couch, but stopped at her husband’s word.

“I’ll have a talk with him tomorrow after they get back home.” Jeff smirked at her knowingly when she looked over her shoulder to regard him.

“How did you know?”

“You are such a push over Nancy. You have to learn to be more firm with the girl.”

“Ha! Look who’s talking? All she has to do is look in your eyes and say, ‘Daddy’ and you become a fumbling idiot.” Nancy laughed out.

“Oh all right! Let’s get going to dinner. I’m hungry.” Jeff brushed past his wife, knowing that she was right.

****

“Maax this doesn’t tase like iced tea. It tases kinda funny.” Liz giggled out between hiccups. She had three glasses of the iced tea Maria pulled out of the fridge. Her tongue felt numb and every time she looked at Max, she rubbed her thighs together in anticipation. Of what? Is what she couldn’t figure out.

“Liz what are you drinking?” Max had been playing video games with Alex and Michael on the living room floor while the girls sat on the couches and laughed about any and everything.

“I’m not drinking nofin Max. It’s jus icee tea. Ha! I said icee…thas not even a word.” Liz, Maria and Isabel burst into a fit of giggles. Max shook his head because he knew they were drunk.

“Maxwell, what’s going on?”

“Hey Mikey!”

“Don’t call me that Maria.”

“Mikey! M.I.K.E.Y.!” Maria bounced on the couch and the other two girls followed suit that was until Liz fell over the back of the couch with a loud thump.

“Liz!” Max practically jumped over the couch to get to her.

“I’m okay. A-Okay Max.” Liz smiled up at Max. She felt great. Max lifted her back onto the couch and sat across from the three highly intoxicated girls, not really knowing what to do with them.

“Oh I’ve got an idea! Whys don’t we play truf or dare.” Isabel said as serious as possible before taking another swig of her drink.

“Ooh ooh! I looove that game! Let’s play!” Maria said sliding off the couch onto the floor.

Max was still checking Liz over to make sure she was alright. “I’m good baby. Don’t you worry you’re pretty little head and big ears about me.” Liz smiled and hiccupped one last time before scooting down to the floor next to Maria and Isabel.

“Max does have big ears, but they’re so cute and sexy. I bet they are great to hold on to when you’re fu—mmh” Michael quickly covered Maria’s mouth with her hands and glanced over at Max apologetically.

“Damn this has go to be the funniest shit I’ve ever seen or heard.” Alex said speaking up for the first time. Michael and Max both glared at him.

“What? What’d I say? Come on you guys have to admit they are funny when they are drunk.”

“How the hell did they end up drunk anyway?” Michael asked, still trying to figure that one out.

“Ooh ooh I know!” Maria shouted raising her hand in the air. Michael just ran a hand through his hair awaiting her answer.

“How’s that babe?”

“You made iced tea and I made it better!” Maria said triumphantly, but the guys still had no idea what she was talking about.

“What did you do to it Maria?”

“I puts a whole lotta clear stuff in it…uhm what was it called again Lizzie?” Maria turned to Liz who was licking her lips while devouring Max with her eyes. Max swallowed thickly. It was becoming increasing difficult for him to hide his apparent arousal. If Liz kept throwing hot looks in his direction he might be forced to take her on the couch in front of everyone. He was THAT turned on.

“I dunno…lemme see it was oh…yes I ‘member! It as Vodka! Yay! For me!”

“Woo hoo Lizzie! High five baby!” Maria and Liz tried to high five each other but to no avail they couldn’t even sit up straight let alone guide their hands in the same direction.

“Okay that’s enough of the drinking for you three.”

“Pout!” Liz said as she crossed her arms and Max’s knees almost buckled. She was so damn sexy.

“I’m sorry baby, but you need to stop now. You all do.”

“Can we still play?” Liz blinked innocently at him.

“Yes.” He mumbled out. He was not looking forward to playing truth or dare with three drunken girls that obviously didn’t care what they said out loud.

On the other hand, it would make things very interesting, he thought.

****

“Truf or dare?” Maria slurred out. The guys tried to give the girls coffee to help them but instead it made them even more hyper.

“Truth.” Michael said. He didn’t trust Maria’s dares while she was sober; there was no way in hell he was going to accept one while she was drunk.

“No!” Liz piped in.

“No?” Michael turned to her in confusion, then to Max who simply shrugged.

“No, you guys aren’t playing fair. You always say truth…das not fun!” Liz placed her hands on her hips as she slurred out her statement.

“Fine! Dare!” Liz smiled and the girls all patted themselves on the back.

“I dare you to kiss me right now.” Maria stated. She knew Michael never displayed his affection for her so this was her way of getting him back.

“Damn it.” Michael said under his breathe as he made his way over to Maria and took her in his arms and kissed her breathless.

“Oh that was hot!” Liz said and Max spit out his soda. Things were getting a little heated in the room and he didn’t think it was a good thing at all.

“Alex you’re turn!” Liz said. Boy she was really into this, she thought.

“Ahem, okay let’s see Liz, truth or dare?” Max was silently praying that Liz would choose truth.

“I say…truth.” Liz flashed Max a smile, which he returned.

“Have you ever gone down on a guy before?” Liz gasped and Maria and Isabel just giggled. Max however just glared at Alex and Alex shrugged and mumbled something about being a guy.

“No.” Liz said softly as she started to sober up. The game just went up a level.

They continued to play and as they did the questions got more and more personal, but they all felt at ease because they knew they could all trust one another. The guys had declared that they would do one more round of questions before they hit the sheets and the girls agreed.

They were down to the last question and it was Maria’s turn to ask Max a question.

“Last one of the night folks, make it good!” Alex shouted out.

“Max, truth or dare?”

“Truth.” So far he only had a few dares and they weren’t anything terrible but decided on truth this time.

“Have you ever gone down on a girl?” Max froze. How did he answer? Did he lie and say he never did or does he tell the truth and possibly hurt Liz? He now knew she had never even gone to second base with a guy and here he was having done a little more than that.

Liz waited for the question, almost knowing what Maria would ask, but when Max froze at the question, she had to blink back the tears.

In the end, he couldn’t lie. “Yes.”

“Oh well I’m beat, come on Maria.” Michael said as he lifted Maria to her feet and carried her upstairs. Alex followed suit, helping Isabel to her feet and up the stairs to bed. Leaving Max and Liz in a very awkward silence.

“Liz, I…”

“Don’t Max. It’s okay. I mean it’s not big deal. I’m actually really tired so I’m just gonna head upstairs.” Max didn’t know what to say to her. He wanted to explain it but she didn’t even look at him.

He watched as she all but ran up the stairs. And he knew that he needed to prove to her that it meant nothing and that she was the only one he ever wanted to be with. So he ran up the stairs to her.

A/N - Yet another drive by post LOL! But I didn't have a chance to edit this part so if there are any errors...deal with it...until I get back  Oh! And thank you so much for the feedback I'm so happy to see that you guys are enjoying this! This part is...short...sweet...and to the point

Chapter 14

Liz knew she was overreacting. Max had to be popular in his old school, which only meant that he must have had a lot of girlfriends. She knew that none of that mattered and that he was with her, but it still hurt. More than that though, she was terrified that Max was more experienced than she thought. And if that was the case, Liz was scared that she wouldn’t live up to his expectations.

She had just assumed that he never did anything with anyone and that they would be each other’s firsts for everything, but she was wrong. That’s what hurt her the most. She never asked him so she should have never assumed anything about him.

Liz quickly changed and slipped underneath the sheets and left the bedside lamp on knowing that Max was not far behind her.

As if on cue a few minutes later Max opened the door slowly to find her lying in the bed. Without a word he removed his sneakers and his shirt before slipping underneath the sheets with her.

“Liz.”

“I’m sorry Max. It’s stupid and I shouldn’t be upset.” She tried to sound as if she was unaffected. However, Max knew better. He quickly pulled the sheet away from her chest and pulled her to him. He kissed the top of her head and went on to explain.

“Don’t be upset Liz. I should have told you before, but it was kind of embarrassing so I was hoping to never mention it to another soul.” Liz’s ears perked up at that point, now she needed to know what happened.

Max pulled away and rolled onto his side to face her. Liz got comfortable and rested her head on her bent arm facing Max. “I was fifteen and I was, I guess you could say dating this girl. Anyway we got home from school one afternoon and I knew that my Mom was out shopping so we went to my room. Now I’ve never done anything but kiss a girl up until that point, and well, things progressed a little more quicker than I anticipated.”

“What happened?” Liz needed to know, she thought finding out what Max did with another girl would hurt her but she felt just the opposite. In fact she was very curious since she had never done anything with anyone.

“We kissed for a little while and then she took off her shirt and honestly I didn’t even know what to do. So I just kissed her and we ended up so that she was on her back and I was above her. One thing led to another and the next thing I knew she was naked from the waist down and I was…you know…” Max couldn’t say it. So he looked at Liz for help.

“I know. So then what happened?”

“Well I started…you know…and then my Mom swung open my bedroom door and I was paralyzed with embarrassment.”

“Oh my God! She found you while you were…” Liz tried to bite back the laughter threatening to bubble forth, but she couldn’t.

“So she…while you…oh…well that’s uhm…very interesting.”

“Go ahead, laugh if you need to.” And she did. Liz burst out laughing and Max decided to take advantage of the situation. He pulled her on top of him and tickled her until she cried out for him to stop.

“Now are you done laughing at me and my one sexual experience?” He tried to sound serious but he was failing miserably.

“I’m done.” Liz said and rested her head against his bare chest while he ran his hands through her hair.

“Max?”

“Hmm?”

“Did you want to wait to have another…experience?” Liz whispered out. She felt her heartbeat quicken at her own words.

“No.” Max didn’t hesitate to answer her. He didn’t want her feeling like he didn’t want to be with her.

A smile spread across her face and she lifted her head and rested her chin against his chest. Max leaned forward and placed a kiss on the tip of her nose.

“With me, Max?” When did she become so bold, she wondered.

“Only with you, Liz.” Max whispered out as he ran his hands down her back and rolled her over slowly.

“I only ever want any experience to be with you.” Max said as he leaned over her and kissed her lips tenderly. He waited for her response; he wanted to go at her pace.

“Me too, Max.” Liz pulled him back down and slid her lips over his and moaned out softly when she felt his warm tongue slide across hers. She loved kissing him, she loved feeling his strength press her against the mattress, but most of all she loved him.

Max ran his hands down her side and rested them on her waist. He ground his hips into hers softly, tentatively, awaiting her reaction. Liz felt his arousal press into her center and couldn’t help but want to get closer to it. So she lifted her hips and ground them into his, creating a delicious friction that was slowly causing them both to loose control.

Max continued to devour her lips, dragging his lips over hers, sometimes soft and tenderly, other times rough and raw with emotions. He wanted her badly, but knew that they couldn’t go all the way. It was too soon.

He slowly ran his hands under her t-shirt and cupped her lace covered breast. She was perfect, he thought. Liz let out a soft moan when she felt Max cup her breast in his palm. She needed more and so she reached up under her shirt and undid her bra. Max then took the hint and pulled her shirt over her head.

She was beautiful, he thought. He leaned down and took one of her ripe nipples into his mouth. He had never done that before, so he was slow in his movements, which were awkward at times. Liz didn’t care, it felt great as he sucked and licked her sensitive flesh.

Max slowly moved his hands down to her hips and then further into her shorts, only to find she wasn’t wearing any underwear. Max ripped his lips from hers and groaned out softly, he needed to see her. And he desperately needed to touch and taste her.

He leaned up on his knees and slowly removed her shorts. He could see the rapid rise and fall of her chest and he loved the way she peered at him through her long brown eyelashes.

“Max…” Liz whispered out nervously.

“Shh, it’s okay Liz. I won’t hurt you. I promise.” Liz trusted him and so she nodded and waited for him to continue.

Max couldn’t get enough of her. He slid her shorts down her long trim legs and allowed his gaze to scan over her perfect body before settling on the small thatch of hair between her thighs.

He looked at her once again before licking his lips, his arousal was pressing into the zipper of his jeans and he was ready to explode, but calmed himself down enough because tonight was about her.

Liz couldn’t believe she was naked in front of Max. She was nervous that he wouldn’t like what he saw, but that theory was blown out the water when she saw him lick his lips and slide his hands up her legs.

Liz couldn’t help but feel excited, she wanted to know what it felt like and was so glad that it would be with Max.

She let out a soft moan as he parted her thighs giving him a perfect view of her dampness.

He couldn’t believe that she was that aroused by them just kissing, and he couldn’t wait any longer to touch her. He settled himself between her parted legs and slowly dragged a finger along her wetness. He watched as her hips automatically ground down into his hand and he smiled knowing he was the only one to ever touch her that intimately.

Max continued to run his finger over her until he knew she was ready for the next step. He then slowly slid a finger inside of her damp heat causing her to moan out and grind onto his finger. Slowly Max moved it in and out of her body, he knew she was close but he needed to taste her.

Liz couldn’t take it, she never felt anything like that before and she was so close to the edge. And that’s when she felt his hands part her swollen lips and felt his tongue slide effortlessly across her wetness.

“Max…” She was thrashing her head back and forth, nothing ever felt that good to her. Nothing. The feel of Max’s warm lips on her delicate flesh, the feel of his finger glide across her swollen walls and the sound of him licking and sucking on her brought her to the edge quickly. She clamped her knees against his face as the first orgasm of her life ripped through her.

“Maaxxx!” Liz let out a loud moan as her body shuddered and clamped down around his finger.

Max couldn’t get enough, he drank from her sweetness until she collapsed against the bed breathing heavily.

He leaned up and took in her appearance. Her breathing was erratic and bounced off the walls, the scent of her climax filled the room her, legs remained slightly parted and her lips were dry. He needed to kiss her and he did. He leaned up over her and covered her mouth with his lips. Liz could taste herself on him and she grew even more aroused at the thought of where his mouth had just been. She slid her tongue into his mouth drinking from him, wanting him to know how turned on she was.

“Max…that was…incredible.” Liz smiled up at him.

“It was. I’ve never done that before.” Liz looked at him in confusion.

“What do you mean? I thought you…” Max silenced her with a kiss.

“I told you I started it, I never even got close to what I just did to you.” Liz smiled and pulled Max down back against her. She could feel his erection pressing into her and she wanted to return the favor but she was suddenly so tired.

Max could feel her body relax and knew that she was falling asleep. He rolled off her and pulled her to his side and covered them with the sheet.

“Hmm, I love you, Max.” Liz said as she snuggled against his side.

“I love you too, Liz. Goodnight.”

“Night.”

Chapter 15

The next morning Liz opened her eyes slowly and rolled over, that’s when she felt something hard against her shoulder. Then suddenly she remembered last night.

She turned and looked up slowly and met his warm amber eyes.

“Morning beautiful.” She blushed at the soft rumble of his voice and his loving words. It was already decided for Liz at that moment for her, Max was the only man she ever wanted to wake up next to.

“Morning. Did you sleep okay?” She asked him cautiously. What if she snored? Or what if she hogged the bed up? Or what if he totally hated sleeping with her?

“Liz, stop thinking so much baby. I slept better than I’ve slept in months.” Max smiled and pulled Liz against his chest. Liz cuddled up to his side and closed her eyes when she felt Max place a kiss on her temple.

“Hey you guys up! My parents are gonna be home in like an hour!” Michael yelled through the door breaking their moment.

“Shit! What time is it Liz?” Max jumped to his feet, and watched as Liz crawled over the bed slowly in her nightshirt. She gave him a perfect view of her round bottom and he quickly forgot the reason why he should’ve been rushing in the first place.

“It’s ten.” Liz stated and crawled out of the bed waiting for Max to tell her what the problem was. But when she turned to him she noticed he was just standing there staring at her.

“Max?”

“Max!” Oh damn, he just got caught staring. He blushed and tried to play it off like he was paying attention.

“Shit! I’m gonna be late for work if we don’t hurry up.” Liz watched him looking around the room for his shirt as if he was unaffected by her. And if she was honest she was very happy that he was very affected by her. She just hoped to be able to pay him back for last night, sooner rather than later.

“Okay let me put my pants on and we can head home.” Liz turned to grab her jeans and they both quickly left shortly thereafter.

****

“Mom! We’re home!” Liz shouted out to the seemingly empty house and watched as Max raced up the stairs to change for work. She then shuffled her aching body over to the couch and plopped down on it. She was so much more tired than she thought, in addition to the fact that she had a raging migraine, which was not helping the situation.

“Morning sweetheart.” Nancy strode into the living room to find her daughter lying down on the couch with her eyes closed.

“Morning.” Liz managed to grumble out to her mother.

“Are you tired?” Nancy asked not really sure if she wanted the answer or not. Mainly because she didn’t want to know why her daughter looked as if she was up all night. Some questions are better left unasked, she thought to herself.

“Yes. Exhausted. We just woke up and came home but we didn’t get to bed until late.” Of course Liz was leaving out the important parts. Like the fact that she got drunk and spent the night in bed with Max and that he made her body come to life for the first time. No, Liz didn’t think that her mother needed to know that bit of information.

“Oh. Well maybe you should go lay back down. Max is headed to work?” Nancy was thankful that her daughter did not elaborate any further as to why she looked like the living dead.

“Yes. He doesn’t want to be late so he’s just changing real quick.” Liz said as she rolled over on the couch trying to get more comfortable.

“Very well. By the way in case I miss Max before he leaves, please tell him your father is looking to speak with him this evening.”

“About what?” Liz’s heavy lids were closing until she heard her mother’s words.

“I don’t know honey. He just said he wanted to speak with him.” Nancy tried not to let on why her husband wanted to speak with Max. She didn’t want Liz jumping to conclusions about Jeff’s motives.

“Sure.” Liz was suspicious, but she wasn’t going to get the information out of her mother and she knew it. Nancy quickly left the room saying she was going to get something to drink.

A few minutes later Max was running back down the stairs. “I don’t know why you even bother. You don’t have to work Max.” Liz stated while rolling onto her back trying to find a comfortable position to fall asleep in.

“Unlike you some of us need to feel independent.” Max smirked and took a seat on the couch next to her curled up form. He reached out a hand and placed it on her leg rubbing it gently, up and down.

“That feels great. How about you stay home and carry me upstairs and rub me until I fall back asleep?” Liz purred out to him and it took all of his strength to stand up.

“I’d love nothing more, but I really have to get going. I’ll be home in a few hours.” Liz just mumbled and he thought she looked adorable. He was just about to lean over and kiss her goodbye, when she popped open her brown eyes and mumbled out a few incoherent words.

“What?” He kneeled down in front of her hoping she would repeat her words.

“I said…my…fa…speak…you.” Again he couldn’t figure out what the hell she was saying and he saw her eyes flutter open and closed quickly. She was fighting sleep.

“Liz, baby. I don’t…”

“She’s trying to tell you that Jeff would like to speak with you when you get home.” Nancy stated with a smile on her face. She had been watching the entire exchange between the two and figured she’d help Max out.

“Thanks.” Max blushed and then turned back to Liz, who was now fast asleep.

“You can leave her there Max.” Max nodded and then began to walk towards the door. What if she got cold? What if she rolled over and fell off the couch? These were the things running through his mind. He made a quick decision and crossed the room, lifted her in his arms and told Nancy that he would just take her up to her bed.

Nancy watched as Max gently lifted her daughter and carried her sleeping form to her bedroom. She just shook her head and thought, ‘she’s got him wrapped around her finger’, before laughing softly to herself.

****

“I’m telling you it hurt like hell.” Maria whispered out. After Liz’s nap she woke up when her phone rang. It was Maria saying that her and Isabel needed to speak to her, so she invited them over. It wasn’t as if she had anything to do, except wait for Max to get off work.

“Really? Did you cry?” Liz asked, this was a very serious conversation and she needed to absorb as much as possible, that way she knew what to expect when her and Max got to that point.

“No, but I wanted to.” Maria said as she leaned back against the headboard.

“How did it feel?” Isabel spoke up for the first time. Her and Alex had gotten very close lately to going all the way, but they always stopped.

“It felt…I don’t know how to describe it. It was different. It was a little painful, but it felt good all at the same time.” Maria was trying her best to relay her first experience with Michael, but was failing miserably in Liz’s eyes. She needed more information. So far all she knew is that it hurt and it felt different but good. That didn’t help her at all.

“So it felt good after a few minutes? Or did it take longer? And did you do it more than once? Were you sore? Were…” Liz rattled off her questions.

“Woah! Slow down tiger. That is far too many questions for Maria’s brain.” Isabel joked, which made all three girls burst into a fit of giggles.

“Sorry.” Liz mumbled out.

“It’s okay. Trust me I was trying to remember everything so I could tell you guys, but yeah obviously that didn’t work out well. All I have to say is that we only did it once, because I was sore. And after a few minutes it did feel good.”

“What did you guys use?” Liz questioned innocently. She had no idea that Maria was already on the pill.

“Nothing.”

“Nothing?”

“Yeah, I don’t need to. I’m on the pill and have been since I was fifteen. My mom said I was a wild one and put me on it.” Liz just nibbled at her lower lip and nodded. The wheels in her head were spinning. She wasn’t on the pill, so now what? It’s not like she could ask her mother to take her to the doctor and get put on it, right? This was all too much.

“Don’t worry Liz, it’s not like you can get pregnant the first time anyway.” Maria stated as if it was common knowledge.

“Really?!” Liz asked enthusiastically. Was it really true? In that case she would be okay, right?

“No. Liz, you can get pregnant it’s just that it’s a very small chance.” Isabel offered as if she had first hand knowledge of it, which she didn’t.

“Right. But if I wasn’t on the pill, we’d use condoms.”

“Yes but that doesn’t feel half as good.” Isabel provided. And Liz and Maria turned to her looking for information that they had not been privy to in the past.

“Oh, sorry. That’s what I heard. I don’t know for sure, but I can only imagine that it’s true. Nothing can feel as good as skin to skin right?” The other two girls simply nodded.
“So, how far did you and Max get?” Maria questioned, knowing things got hot and heavy between the two.

Liz blushed in embarrassment. “I…we…not far.” She finished quickly turning her head away.

“Sure, Liz.” Isabel flipped her hair over her shoulder in disbelieve and turned her attention to the Cosmo Magazine in front of her.

The conversation switched gears after that, mainly because Nancy had knocked on the door asking what time Max got off of work. She was making dinner reservations and wanted to make sure she made them so that Max could join them.

Liz was still left with questions and above all else confusion. She wished there was someone she could talk to about it, but the only person around that would know, was her mother. And although things were getting better between them, she was not, nor did she ever think she would be ready to talk to her mother about sex.

****

“Hey baby. Welcome home.” Liz stood outside waiting for the driver to pull up to the house and as soon as Max jumped out of the back seat she ran into his arms.

“Hmm, thank you.” Max leaned down and covered her soft mouth with his lips. He didn’t want to get her dirty so he made the kiss quick. Liz whimpered at the loss of contact.

“I know how you feel, but I need a shower.”

“My mom made reservations for dinner, and my dad wants to talk to you, so you have to hurry up.” Liz smiled and reached out her hand for him to take, which he did and followed her into the house.

“Max, good you’re home.” Both teens turned around with a start when they heard Jeff’s voice. He was standing at the top of the stairs.

“Hi daddy.” Liz smiled up at her father.

“Hello, sweetheart.”

“Yes, I just got home. I know you wanted to talk to me.” Max watched as Jeff descended the stairs with an unreadable expression on his face.

“I do, would you mind if we did it before dinner?” Max just shook his head and followed Jeff into the study.

“I’ll just go get ready.” Liz announced softly and headed upstairs to her room. She was anxious to find out from Max what he and her father were discussing, but knew she would have to wait a while to find out. Not too long, she hoped.

****

“So Max, how’s work going? You like it?” Jeff asked taking a seat behind his desk. Max looked around and decided to take the seat closest to the desk.

“It’s going very well. And yes, actually I enjoy what I do, so that makes it much easier.” Jeff just nodded. Max was getting nervous. There was something on Mr. Parker’s mind and Max wasn’t sure if he wanted to know what exactly that was.

“Good. Now, we haven’t discussed this yet and it may be a little premature, however I think it’s important.” Max simply nodded.

“What are your plans for college?” Max was a little startled by the question, surely that is not what Jeff wanted to talk about? In any event, he answered the question.

“I plan on going to Caltech, they have an excellent Engineering program and I’ve always wanted to go there.”

“I see, so you want to be an Engineer?” Max nodded. “Mechanical Engineer to be more specific.” Jeff nodded once again. He knew that Max had a good head on his shoulders and obviously he had thought about his future well in advance, and he wanted to make sure that Max knew he didn’t have to worry about anything.

“Now I know that you have been saving your money.” Max nodded.

“May I ask how much you have so far?”

“Well, with what my mother left me…I have close to fifteen thousand.”

“That’s very impressive, but I want to tell you that Nancy and I have discussed this the day we found out you were coming to live with us. We want you to know, that anywhere you want to go and for however long, we will be paying for it.” Max was a little taken aback by Jeff’s words. He had no idea that they would be that gracious and offer to pay his entire college tuition.

“Wow…I don’t know what to say. I mean are you sure?”

“Positive.” Jeff stated unwaveringly.

“Wow…I just…thank you. Both of you, you don’t know how much that means to me.” Jeff smiled as he stood up and walked over to Max’s side. He placed a hand on his shoulder and said, “You’re welcome son. Just remember there isn’t anything that Nancy and I wouldn’t do for you, and Liz.” Those words touched Max more than he wanted to admit. This was his family.

After the room grew quite, Jeff decided to get back to the matter at hand. His daughter.

“So Max, when are you taking my Lizzie out on a real date?” Max began to choke and Jeff patted the young man on the back.

“You okay?”

“Y-yeah. Fine. I…uhm…date…Liz….” He was trying to form complete sentences but was failing miserably.

“Excuse me?” A smiled played on the corner of Jeff’s lips. He knew Max was nervous to talk to him about his daughter, but it was fun messing with him, he thought.

“To be honest with you. I did ask Liz out, but I still feel really…weird about it.” The tips of Max’s ears were burning at that point. He wasn’t sure what he should say and what he shouldn’t say. It was also becoming increasingly difficult for him to think with Jeff standing so close. In just a matter of a few seconds, Max was sure that Jeff could crush his skull. Max shuddered at the thought, but Jeff’s question broke him out of his trance.

“Why’s that?” Jeff was enjoying watching the young man squirm. It was actually quite entertaining.

“I live here.” Max offered as if that would answer all the questions Jeff had. So when Max looked up he was met with a confused stare, so he continued to elaborate further.

“Liz lives here,” Max rolled his eyes realizing that he was making no sense at all. “And even though Nancy told me that it was okay, I still feel like I’m doing something wrong. Not that being with her is wrong, because me being with Liz could never be wrong, it’s more like I feel that you really don’t approve.” Max rattled off and stopped himself when he realized he may have said too much. He still couldn’t look Jeff in the eyes.

“I understand. So I’ll make it simple for you. I honestly wish that she would never leave the house and date anyone for the rest of her life, but that’s not realistic. Therefore, I will tell you this and I will never admit it to her, so I trust this will stay between us?” Jeff quirked up his eyebrow awaiting Max’s response.

“Absolutely.”

“There isn’t anyone in the world I would approve of dating my daughter,” Max held his breath, this was the truth and his world was crumbling around him. “That is anyone except for you. While it’s true I don’t want my daughter to grow up, I can’t stop it from happening. And I can’t stop boys from liking her, but I know you and I trust you. And with that said, I’m telling you that I’m okay with your relationship with her, but if you break her heart…”

“I won’t.” Max swore and Jeff knew that Max was completely sincere.

“Very well. I expect to not see the two of you tomorrow night.” Jeff stated as he turned on his heels leaving a very confused Max in his wake.

Max let out a heavy breath before throwing his back against the chair in relief.

****

“What are you doing?” Max hissed out over his shoulder when his very naked girlfriend decided to step into the shower with him.

“I’m helping you.” Liz leaned up on her tiptoes and placed a kiss on his shoulder. Max didn’t know what to do, here she was naked and he was naked and they were in the shower…together. He swallowed thickly. His body was already reacting and they hadn’t even done anything. He could see a big red flag go up but when he felt her soft lips against his shoulder all thought flew out the window.

He quickly turned and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her flush against his naked form. He could feel the soft swell of her breasts against his chest and it was enough for him to want to take her right then and there, parents be damned. Liz could feel how excited Max was to see her, but instead of her being turned on by it, she was petrified. A few minutes ago this had seemed like a really great idea, but now that she was here she had no idea what to do. She didn’t have too long to ponder those thoughts because Max was quickly devouring her mouth. He slid his tongue against hers creating a delicious friction that made Liz want to crawl into his skin.

“Liz…we…you have to go.” Max pulled away panting. He was trying to drink in her naked, wet body all the while trying to remember to breath. It wasn’t working and he knew that things could easily escalate from this moment on, so he had to stop.

“I don’t think I’m ready to go yet, Max.”

“W-why?” He shuddered with delight, what was she up to?

“Because I have something I want to do…if you let me.” Liz looked up at him hopeful. And as soon as their eyes met, she knew without a doubt this was a good idea. She leaned in and kissed his lips softly before dropping to her knees in front of him.

Max simply closed his eyes and threw his head back, just waiting for the moment she finally touched him for the first time.

But she didn’t.

He looked down and saw her staring at him. Well, this was embarrassing, he thought to himself. So to help her, he reached out his hand and moved her matted hair away from her face, just waiting for her to look up at him.

“You okay?” He asked when their eyes finally connected.

“Yes. It’s just…” She bit her bottom lip and took another look at his erection standing proud in front of her. Were they all this size? And when they did make love, would it even fit? It didn’t look like it would and she was somewhat worried. She would have to speak to Isabel and Maria about this situation and soon. Liz was broken from her thoughts at the sound of Max’s voice.

“Liz? You don’t have to do anything.” Max was quick to reassure her that he didn’t expect this from her. He didn’t mind of course, but he would never force her to do something she wasn’t ready for.

“No! I want to, I just…I don’t know what to do.” Liz looked away and then decided that she really did want Max to feel the same way he made her feel last night, so she sucked in a deep breath and asked him, “Help me Max…help me make you feel good.” She looked up at him innocently and Max fell in love with her even more at that moment.

He smiled at her, “just touch me, Liz.” And she did, hesitantly. She wrapped her tiny hand around his rigid length. She was in awe of how it felt. She didn’t know what she was expecting but it was hard, yet silky soft. Experimentally she began to move her hand slowly up and down, and then faster and faster. She looked up when she heard Max gasp in excitement. His eyes were closed; head tilted back and lips slightly parted. Liz thought he looked sexy as hell.

She wanted to do more for him, she wanted to taste him like he tasted her. So without much thought, she leaned closer and took him into her mouth.

“Liz…oh God…” Max hissed out and his hips began a slow rhythm, rocking back and forth. He could feel her warm, wet mouth surround him over and over. He was reaching his peak quickly. He had never felt anything that good before in his life.

“Liz…I’m…oh yeah…Liz…” He tried to tell her to move away, he tried to push her back, but Liz wouldn’t allow it. She opened her eyes and looked at him as he reached his climax. His hips worked quickly thrusting in and out of her mouth until his release flowed from his body. Max moaned out her name as his body shuddered in completion.

Liz was overwhelmed by his release, she didn’t know what to expect but after the first few drops on her tongue she found it quite arousing. She waited until his body stilled before she slipped him from her mouth and stood, waiting for his reaction.

“Was that okay?” She asked hesitantly.

Max didn’t have words for how that was, so he pulled her against him and kissed her deeply. He could taste himself on her lips, and he had always thought that would disgust him, however he was surprisingly aroused by the knowledge of what she had just done to him. He slid his tongue against hers and waited until her body melted against his, he ran his hands up her back and kissed her passionately trying to pour all of his emotions into it.

Liz was blown away that Max would even want to kiss her after what she had just done. But the way he was kissing her gave her the knowledge that he enjoyed it and wanted more from her, which she was more than eager to give. She pulled away from the kiss and Max opened his eyes in confusion.

“I want to tell you that…I’m ready…whenever you are. I want to be with you Max.” Liz whispered out to him and he tried to calm his body and mind down at the idea of sleeping with her, but he knew it was still too soon. They hadn’t even gone out on a real date. Something he needed to rectify immediately.

“Liz, I want to be with you too. But I think there is something much more important that I need to do.”

“Really? What?” Liz asked curiously.

“I, Miss Parker, need to take you out on a date. A real date. So, how does tomorrow night sound?” Liz’s face lit up brightly and Max couldn’t help but feel his heart swell, he loved making her smile.

“I think it sounds perfect!” Liz kissed his lips softly before stepping away.

“Good. Now I think it would be best if you left now. You’re parents are going to think I drowned in here if I don’t hurry up.” They both laughed and with one final kiss Liz disappeared behind the shower curtain to get dressed.

“Liz?” He peaked his head out of the shower stall.

“Yes?” Liz turned slightly to face him.

“I love you.” Liz smiled at his sweet words, “I love you too.” And with that she exited the room.

Once he was alone in the shower, Max rested his hands on the shower wall and hung his head down, staring at his straining erection. If being with her for twenty minutes did that to his body, he could only imagine what spending the entire night making love to her would be like. His body shivered with arousal and he leaned over and turned the water to cold and finished up quickly.

It was going to be a long night, he thought.

A/N - Just want to comment on something most of you pointed out. There is of course a reason for why Maria and Isabel spoke about having sex that way. Their parents obviously never spoke to them, and sex-ed classes I don't know about you but it was hard to concentrate when the boys would snicker every five seconds the word penis was mentioned  But regardless, there is always a reason and Nancy will be addressing this soon

Thank you so much for the great feedback! I love to sit and read it, since it seems that's the only thing I truly have time to read :? And one last HELLO to all the lurkers, hope your enjoying!

Chapter 16

“What do you think I should wear?” Liz asked her mother as she stood in the middle of her closet.

“Honey, just wear whatever you feel comfortable with.” Nancy had to admit that when her daughter asked her to help her get dressed she was surprised. She had stopped helping her daughter get dressed, or give her advice on what to wear several years ago. Therefore, Nancy was well out of practice and feeling some pressure.

“Mom! I can’t just be comfortable. It’s my first date…ever. This is important.” Liz sighed and dropped to her knees. Nancy knew she needed to put aside any fears she had and pull herself together to help her daughter. This was an opportunity for them to get closer and she wasn’t going to ruin it.

Nancy crossed the room and kneeled down next to her daughter. She framed her face gently and kissed her forehead before helping Liz to her feet. “Sweetheart, Max is crazy about you so I’m sure if you showed up in your pajamas he’d be happy. But you’re right this is important and with that said…” Nancy turned and began skimming her daughters closet until she found what she was looking for.

“What about this?!” Nancy turned and held up a knee length denim skirt and pale pink tank top, and waited for her daughter’s reaction.

Liz bit her bottom lip and looked at the outfit, it was comfortable but cute all at the same time. She looked up to her mother and a smile broke out across her face, “It’s perfect! Thanks mom.” Liz reached for the outfit and then leaned up and kissed her mother’s cheek before making her way into the bathroom to get dressed.

****

Across the hall stood a very nervous Max Evans. Honestly he had no idea why he was nervous, it wasn’t as if he and Liz hadn’t done things together before. But somehow tonight felt different. He had gone out on dates before, but Liz was special and she deserved to have everything be perfect. Max just wasn’t sure if he would be able to make that happen.

He reached for his black denim jacket before turning off his bedroom light and making his way downstairs to wait for her.

“Now doesn’t someone look handsome?” He blushed at Nancy’s words. “Thanks.” Max tried to act indifferent but realized that Nancy was on to him already.

“Liz will be down shortly, she couldn’t decide what to do with her hair.” Nancy said as she crossed the room and took a seat next to Max on the couch.

“Right. Honestly she should just leave it out…I love her hair loose.” The words slipped off his tongue before he realized what he said and to whom he had said it to.

Nancy simply smiled and tried to get Max to calm down. “I’m okay. Really. Do I look okay?” Max rushed out and then blushed in embarrassment. This was his girlfriends mother, he wasn’t supposed to ask her that.

“Max you look handsome as I said. Now aren’t you missing something?” Max looked at her in confusion. Missing? He had his wallet, money…then he remembered. He jumped off the couch and quickly entered the kitchen.

“Now I’m ready.” He smiled and then his eyes traveled up the staircase. She was perfect and his. He couldn’t help the smile that formed on his lips when he saw her.

“Hi.” Liz whispered softly once she stood in front of him.

“Hi. You look great.” Great? Surely he could have come up with a better word, but her mother was in the room, so it would have to do until later.

“These are for you.” Max pressed the bouquet of fresh roses and lilies in her hands. Liz leaned in to breath in their scent.

She smiled at him, “Thank you. You ready?” Liz turned and waited for Max to follow her.

“Lizzie?” Liz turned quickly at the sound of her father’s stern voice.

“Yes daddy?” Max was beginning to sweat. What if Jeff changed his mind?

“Have a great time. And, Max.”

“Y-yes?”

“You too son. See you both later.”

“Bye!” Liz yelled as she dragged Max out the front door and into the waiting car.

****

They had sat in silence the entire ride to the movies. Liz had begun to wonder if she had done something wrong. Maybe Max only took her out because he felt that she wanted him to and not because he wanted to.

“Max, are you okay?”

“Yes. I’m fine. Great. Perfect.” No he wasn’t. He felt sick. He wanted perfection and this evening was turning into a disaster. Liz reached out her hand to cradle his cheek hoping that he would turn to her. But he didn’t.

“Max?”

This time he turned to address her. He saw the confusion in her eyes and that’s when he realized he needed to pull himself together, for her. He reached his hand up and removed her hand from his face. He then looked into her eyes, leaned in and kissed her lips softly. He let go of the tension he was feeling and helped ease hers as well.

Liz scooted closer to him on the back seat and rested her head on his shoulder. “I hope this movie is good. Maria and Isabel said it was funny.”

“I’m sure it will be.” Max smiled and placed a kiss on her temple before reaching for her hand and caressing it with his. He finally felt like himself again.

Thirty minutes into the movie, they couldn’t keep their hands or lips for that matter away from each other. They sat in the back against the wall and Max was taking all the willpower he had left not to pull his girlfriend into his lap to explore her better.

“Max?”

“Y-yeah?” They both panted out.

“Did you think about what I told you?” Huh? He didn’t know what she was talking about. The only thing he could think about at the moment was her tiny hand rubbing far too close to his straining erection.

“About…what?” Liz pulled back. Did he not want to? Did he not like what he saw? She felt the urgent need to cover herself up. Max noticed her retract herself from him and he was quick to pull her back.

“Liz. I want to. God, do I want to but we can’t…not today.” He tried to make her understand that he did want to be with her, but they had no privacy. Neither of them drove and the car would be back in a few hours to pick them up and bring them home.

“I know. I just wanted to know how you felt. I wanted to know if you felt the same way as me.” Max reached out a hand and cupped the back of her head before bringing her mouth to his. He dragged his lips over hers heatedly, letting Liz know exactly how bad he wanted what she wanted.

When they pulled away, Liz unconsciously began to nibble on her bottom lip, eliciting a moan from Max. She looked up at him and he leaned in to whisper in her ear, “You don’t know how crazy you drive me when you nibble on your lip or how much that turns me on.” Liz couldn’t help the small gasp that escaped her lips or the rapid pounding of her heart at his words.

“Really?” She looked up at him, her mind still reeling over his words. She just needed to hear it one more time.

“Yes. Now let’s finish this movie.” Max wrapped his arm around her shoulder pulling her closer to him. He knew at that point it was going to be impossible to concentrate on the movie, but he needed to try.

****

“That was so funny! Wasn’t it?!” Liz giggled as she draped herself on Max’s arm. “Yes, it was, but you should be nicer Liz.”

“Nicer? Ha! She deserved it!” Max had to admit that much was true and it was funny.

“I know, but…”

“But nothing! That girl has been after you since the day you moved here. I loved seeing her face when you took me in your arms and pressed me to your body and kissed me…breathless.” The mood changed quickly…too quickly. One minute they were talking about a girl who tripped and landed flat on her face, because she was being nosey watching Max and Liz make out. And now there was a heat that was crackling in the air surrounding the two teens.

“Breathless huh?” Max teased trying to lighten the mood. Liz however wasn’t ready to let the moment pass by. She leaned up and whispered in his ear, “That’s how you leave me and that’s how I want to leave you.” Liz pulled away from him and walked ahead of him knowing that his eyes were following her every move.

She looked so edible in her skirt and top. He was now finding it hard to form a complete thought that didn’t include him undressing her and kissing every piece of exposed skin.

“Max!” Liz yelled when he simply stood a few feet away from her, staring. She knew she got to him, but they didn’t have too much time alone and things needed to get done, she thought.

“What do you want princess?”

“Princess?”

“Yes.” Max stated with a small nod and smirk.

“So does that mean you’re my prince?” He was now standing in front her, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath before answering her question.

“I’ll be whatever you want me to be.” Liz’s heart warmed at his words.

“Good. Because I want you to be my everything, Max. Do you think you can be that?” Max quickly wrapped his arms around her fusing their lips together and when he pulled away he framed her face in his large hands, leaned in and said, “You are already my everything and so you deserve nothing less than that. I love you.” Tears sprang to Liz’s eyes at his genuine words. She didn’t know what to say to that, and she didn’t have a chance to either.

Max was now dragging her across the street to the park. Once he found a spot away from everyone and in a dimly lit area, he removed his jacket for them to sit down on.

“Max, what are you doing?” She queried.

“I just want to be with you alone for a few minutes. I just need to hold you, Liz.” He finished opening his arms for her to crawl into his lap. She rested her head against his hard chest and sighed in contentment when he wrapped his arms around her.

“Are you cold?”

“No, I’m perfect.”

“That you are.”

“You and your lines.”

“Lines? I do not have lines! I am being sincere here.” He pouted and Liz couldn’t help but sit up and wrap her arms around his neck. She pressed her forehead against his and they sat in silence staring into each other’s eyes.

“I love you, Max. I never thought I would ever find someone to love me. Not who I wanted everyone to see, but the real me. The girl who gets cranky when she’s hungry and tired. The girl who hates to get up in the morning because the bed is just too warm and the girl who always felt less than perfect.”

“Liz…”

“Shh, let me finish.” Max just nodded and waited for her to continue.

“When you came into my life, it was a blessing Max. I didn’t know how profoundly you would end up changing my life, but you did. You don’t put up with my shit and when I don’t want to get out of bed, you pull back the covers and lift me in your big strong arms and carry me into the bathroom. You make me feel safe and protected, but above all else you make me feel perfect. I know I’m not, no one is, but being with you is as close to perfect anyone could ever wish to be.” By the time Liz finished her speech, they both had tears in their eyes. He now knew, if he didn’t already, that Liz Parker was completely in love with him, she was in it for the long haul.

“She always told me it existed.”

“Your mom?” She guessed whom he was referring to.

“Yes. She always told me that true love…that soulmates existed. I never believed her. But being with you, loving you…I know it’s true.” They both smiled and as if time was standing still, they leaned in and kissed each other. They didn’t rush this time, because they knew they had all the time in the world to love one another.

A/N - I'm so glad you guys love Max...he's my special project for this story  Thank you all so much for the feedback and I just want to point out after you read this part you're going to *think* something, but I'm trying to keep you all guessing...I don't want you to figure things out until I'm ready for you to

Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 17

Weeks had gone by and that found Max and Liz going out on dates every weekend. Sometimes they were alone; sometimes their friends would be there. They were inseparable. In fact, this weekend approaching was extra special. It was their Junior Prom.

Max was beyond excited and Liz, she was beyond nervous. She and Max had been getting closer and closer to taking that final step, but Max always stopped. And she was somewhat grateful for it, but on the other hand she wished it would just happened spontaneously. It would definitely take some of the pressure off, she thought.

“So Liz, you think this is gonna be it?” Maria leaned over the bench and asked her friend as they waited for everyone to join them at lunch.

“I don’t know. I hope so, but then again. I don’t know. I’m scared Maria.”

“Scared? Girl let me tell you, after that first time, take it from me you’ll never imagine a time you were afraid.” Liz was sure Maria was right. But what if she wasn’t? What if it was different? What if Max didn’t enjoy it with her? Suddenly a sense of dread washed over her. This was a bad idea. She would have to tell Max that she wasn’t as ready as she thought she was.

“Yeah…I guess. Anyway, did you finally decide on a dress?” Liz asked as she popped another grape into her mouth.

“Yes. I’m going with the red one. How about you? Did you decide?” Liz nodded; she had searched for over a month for the perfect dress. She wanted to look extra special for Max. He hadn’t even seen the dress yet.

“Oh girl! Spill!”

“If this is gossip, wait for me to take a seat.” Isabel said as she placed her tray of food down and sat down right next to Liz.

“Hey Isabel.”

“Yeah, yeah…get to the good stuff.” Liz just rolled her eyes. Sometimes Isabel was as bad as Maria, as if that was possible.

“Liz was just going to tell me what dress she’s going to wear this weekend.”

“Oh! I’m just in time then. Which one?”

“It’s the pink champagne one.”

“That’s perfect! That dress looks amazing on you.” Liz blushed at Isabel’s words.

“Thank you.”

“Please girl, you don’t know how easy you have it.”

“Easy?” Liz didn’t understand.

“Yes. Your skin is flawless. You have big bright eyes, perfect teeth, hair and you have the most perfect boyfriend who adores you.” Liz smiled because it was true. Not that she thought she was perfect, but that she had the most perfect boyfriend, now that was very true.

“Hey can we join? Or are you talking about some girlie shit?” Maria dismissed her boyfriend and scooted over for him to take a seat.

“Hey beautiful. Miss me?” Max said taking seat next to Liz and placed a kiss on her cheek. She could do nothing but blush, but the other girls couldn’t help the sigh that escaped past their lips.

“Hey! We are sitting right here!” Alex grumbled out as he took a bite of his ham sandwich. Michael had hardly been paying any attention, so he simply looked at Alex confused before biting down on his sandwich.

A few minutes later, Maria and Michael were arguing about the limo situation for the prom and Liz found that it was the perfect moment to talk to Max.

“Max.” She tugged on his arm softly.

“Yeah?”

“I need to talk to you.”

“Okay.” He wasn’t sure what was wrong, but by the tone of her voice and the look on her face he knew something was bothering her.

“You want to go somewhere?”

“Yes.” She answered desperately.

He reached out his hand to her and they excused themselves from the table. Max walked them over to a tree not too far from the table they just vacated, but far enough for them to have a private conversation.

He took a seat and rested his back on the trunk of the tree and allowed Liz to sit in his lap.

“I’m scared, Max.”

“Scared? About what?”

“Prom.”

“What about Prom?”

“Just everything.” He let out a small laugh. He knew she was serious, but she wasn’t giving him enough information to start worrying about anything.

“It’s not funny, Max.”

“Baby, I’m sure it’s not. But I don’t even know what we are talking about. So tell me.” He wrapped his arms around her and she placed her head against his chest.

“Prom night. I don’t know if I’m ready Max. I thought I was, but now that I think about it more and more, I don’t think I am.” Max shifted her in his lap and pushed her back slowly so he could see her face.

“Liz, I told you I would wait. I wasn’t kidding. If you’re not ready, we won’t do anything. I love you, and in doing so it means that until we are both ready to take that final step, we won’t.”

“Are you sure…I mean…” Max silenced her with a kiss. He pushed her hair away from her face and waited until she opened her eyes after breaking the kiss.

“I’m positive, Liz. We’re going to have a great time, so stop worrying. Now what I want to see is a smile. You know the one I want too.”

“No, Mr. Evans, I’m not so sure I do.” She teased.

“Hmm, yes you do. The one that makes my stomach flip and my heartbeat race. That smile.” And just because she could, she kissed him and then pulled away giving him the smile he had just asked for.

“That’s my girl.” He pulled her into his arms and they spent the rest of the hour with Max holding her.

It would be okay, she thought. They would wait until the time was right.

****

“Liz, honey you look so beautiful.” Nancy entered her daughter’s room to find her standing in front of the mirror in her dress.

“Thank you. Are you sure it looks okay?” Nancy came to stand behind her daughter and brushed her hair out of her face.

“It looks perfect. Max will love it.” Liz hoped so. The dress was a spaghetti strapped pink champagne floor length dress. The top was very form fitting allowing it to appear as though Liz had more cleavage than she actually did, of course a little help from a great pushup bra also helped.

“I need to do my hair. What should I do with it?” Nancy remembered that Max had said that he loved her hair hanging loose.

“How about you leave it loose? We’ll put just a few curls around and we’ll put some of these hair pins in to hold the front back?” Nancy offered.

“That would be great. Thank you mom.” Liz smiled and made her way over to her vanity. Nancy stood behind her with the curling iron and began to place the curls in her daughter’s hair. She wanted to speak to Liz about tonight. She wouldn’t be coming home. Which was something that took a good two weeks for Liz to convince her parents that everyone was going and that she didn’t want to be left out. Nancy and Jeff had discussed it and their answer was no. And then Liz went to them a week ago and asked again. She said that she knew why they said no, but she assured them that nothing would be happening. They were going to the carnival in town and then hanging out by the pool.

Nancy and Jeff were not naïve, they knew more than that would be taking place, but decided in the end that no matter what they did, even by saying no, wouldn’t stop Liz and Max’s relationship from progressing. In the end it made no sense for them to keep them under lock and key, when they could easily leave the house of their own accord.

A few minutes later, Liz’s hair was done and she was applying her makeup, while Nancy retrieved her shoes from the closet. This was it; Nancy needed to talk to her daughter before she left the house.

“Liz. Can I talk to you for a minute?” This was it, Liz thought. The talk. She knew it was coming and she was ready for it.

“Sure thing.” Liz turned after applying her lipgloss.

“I know that tonight is special and important, but I’m going to ask you to be careful.”

“Mom…” She changed her mind. She wasn’t ready.

“Let me just finish. Liz, you’re not on the pill and so I’m going to ask you to be careful. If something happens, I want you to use something.”

“Mom, nothing is going to happen. I don’t think I’m ready.” Nancy breathed a sigh of relief she didn’t know she was holding in. For all she knew up until that moment, Liz and Max had already been sleeping with each other, she was thankful for once that she was right.

“I know you feel that way, but…”

“Mom, I love Max and so I won’t lie to you. I have thought about it. I just…I’m not sure right now.” Liz was finding it increasing difficult to express her feelings to her mother. Yes, they had gotten closer over the last few months, but it was still difficult.

“Okay.” Nancy dropped the subject knowing that she said all that she could.

“I’ll go check on Max.” Nancy stood and gave her daughter a kiss before exiting the room.

Liz was then left with her lingering doubts. She didn’t think she was ready, but when her and Max were alone, she felt ready. Everything was just so conflicting, but she promised Max to not dwell on it and just have a good time, which is exactly what she intended to do.

****

“Do you think she’ll like them?” Max asked after showing Nancy and Jeff his present for Liz.

“She’ll love them, Max. You have nothing to worry about.” Nancy and Jeff had thought seriously about speaking to Max about tonight, and decided to just approach the subject lightly and see what came of it.

“So, tonight’s the big night?” Jeff asked nonchalantly. Max of course had no idea what the hell Jeff was referring to.

“Yeah, I mean this is really important to Liz and I just want to make her happy.” Max answered as he crossed the room to retrieve his tuxedo jacket.

Nancy and Jeff looked at one another and realized that Max had no idea what they were talking about. Maybe Liz was not covering up the truth, maybe they didn’t have plans to sleep together.

Max on the other hand was feeling quite uncomfortable from all the silence in the room. He had a million things on his mind. He and Liz had talked about tonight and decided that they weren’t going to go any further in their relationship. He opened his top drawer to remove his wallet and he looked down at the box of condoms, he could just take one out, in case. But decided there was no need for it.

“Do you have the number to the hotel?” Max asked startling Jeff and Nancy from their staring match.

“Y-yes. Liz gave it to us.” Max nodded.

“Okay, well I’ll just go wait downstairs, I know everyone else should be arriving shortly.” Max crossed the room and left the two adults alone.

“Nancy, are you sure about this?” Jeff asked worriedly.

“What choice do we have? We can’t lock them in their rooms forever.”

“No?”

“Jeff!”

“I know. I’m just…I know what it was like when I was his age.”

“Yes, I know.” Nancy giggled and followed her husband out of the room.

****

After about two entire rolls of film, Liz and Max were finally on their way to the Prom. Maria and Isabel were sitting across from Michael and Alex, Liz and Max were sitting next to each other.

“You look amazing Liz, absolutely beautiful.” Liz blushed. They had already taken their pictures and eaten, now they were now making their way onto the dance floor for the last dance.

“Thank you. You Max, look handsome and so sexy.” Max was a little taken back by her words.

“Sexy? Me?”

“Oh please! Like you don’t know that every girl here wishes you were on their arm.”

“Wow! That’s a lot of girls. I don’t think I have enough time to…”

“Max!” Liz slapped his chest jokingly.

“Kidding. You know I’m a one girl kind of man.”

“Yeah? So do I know the girl?” Liz teased.

“Yes, you know her very well.”

“I do? Hmm, help me out and describe her to me.”

He took her in his arms as the song began to play.

I wanna love you ‘til forever comes
I wanna give you everything under the sun
One day at a time
I’ll share with you my life
And our forever ends the day we say goodbye
Cause forever’s as long as it lasts

“She has soft, long brown hair, big beautiful brown eyes, perfect lips, soft skin and the most amazing smile. She fits perfectly into my arms and she fills my heart so much so that I feel like I might burst at times.” Liz couldn’t help but let a tear slip from the corner of her eye, and Max was there in an instant to swipe it away.

Don’t wait ‘til tomorrow let’s enjoy today
Promise’s we made forever may just fade away
So one day at a time appreciate my love
And our forever ends if we should ever say goodbye
Cause forever’s as long as it lasts

“I love you, Liz. More than I thought I could ever love anyone in my life, and I want to be with you forever.” He pulled her closer and she rested her head against his chest.

And no matter where you go
No matter what you do
The love we share right now will always be a part of you
Cause forever’s as long as it lasts

“I love you, Max. And I want to be with you, and only you for the rest of my life.” She leaned up and pressed her lips against his softly. Never wanting the moment to end.

I’m yours forever (forever is as long as it lasts)
Never say never (forever is as long as it lasts)
Let’s stay together (forever is as long as it lasts)
As long as we can make it last

One day at a time
I’ll share with you my life
And our forever ends the day we say goodbye

They pulled away from their kiss to stare into one another’s eyes. This was it, she thought. She had been waiting for the perfect moment, the right time and this was it. Liz knew that tonight she and Max would take that final step and become one.

Cause no matter where you go
No matter what you do
The love we share right now
Will always be a part of you

Cause forever’s as long as it lasts

****

After the last dance, Max led her off the dance floor and into the hotel lobby. They were silent for the short elevator ride to the tenth floor. He stepped out first and reached out his hand to her, she looked at it for just a moment before slipping her hand into his, allowing him to lead the way.

He opened the door, his heart was racing but when he turned to her he realized there was nothing to be scared of. He loved her and she loved him, and for Max it was that simple.

He lifted her into his arms and carried her into the bedroom, kicking the door closed behind them.

He placed her on her feet and kissed her lips softly before taking seat on the bed. He reached his hand out to her.

“Come here Liz.” Max patted his lap lightly and waited for her to cross the distance between them. She was nervous and excited all at the same time. She knew that she loved him and that he loved her. She crossed the room and allowed him to engulf her in a hug. He kissed her softly and told her that they didn’t have to do anything.

“No, Max I want to. I want to be with you tonight.” Liz lifted off his lap and stood in front of him. She took a deep breath before reaching behind her to unzip her dress.

“Wait!” He almost forgot her present; he wanted to give it to her before anything happened. He reached into the breast pocket of his jacket and pulled out a white velvet box. He stood in front of her and waited until she looked at him.

“I wanted to give this to you.” He opened the box slowly and waited for her reaction.

“Max…they’re beautiful. I don’t know what to say…”

“I figured you had second holes in your ears for something, but you never put anything in them, so I wanted to give you something to…” She silenced him with a passionate kiss. She was more than ready at that point. Liz pulled away and placed the diamond earrings in her ears before plucking the box out of his hand and placing it on the nightstand. She then raised her hands to his shoulders and eased him back on the bed.

She waited until his eyes were on hers and she began to undress once again. Once the zipper is down she pushed the flimsy straps of her dress down her delicate shoulders and Max followed the path of the dress down her legs. He didn’t know if he was still breathing but his heart was pumping wildly in his chest so he took it as confirmation that he was.

Liz had on a white strapless bra and Max thought that when she bent over that she was going to spill right out of it, not that he minded one bit. Then his eyes landed on her lacy white thong and he seriously considered swiping his lip to catch the drool that he knew had to be there. He wanted her and didn’t think he could wait any longer.

He stood and picked her up and placed her in the center of the bed. He then proceeded to pull off his jacket, shirt, shoes and pants. Now she was lying before him in just her bra and panties and he stood with nothing but his boxers. Max didn’t waist another moment, he climbed on top of her and kissed her everywhere. Her hands roamed every inch of his body she could reach from her position.

Their kisses were sloppy, wet and filled with raw hunger. They needed each other, they had held out for far too long, now their bodies were crying for one another. Max rolled to his side and draped one of his well-defined legs over her waist and dipped his hand inside the tiny scrap of material. He ran his fingers down her slick, swollen flesh. He could feel her arousal drench his fingers and he dipped two fingers inside her. Liz loved the sensation that he always created whenever he touched her there, like that. She bowed off the bed and Max couldn’t help but use his other hand to remove her bra exposing her pert, ripe nipples. He latched his teeth onto them and gently nipped, sucked and licked her until she was begging for him to take her over the edge. Normally he would deny her nothing, but he needed her and he wanted her to come apart in his arms this time.

“Please Max…I need you…please…” She begged for what? She had no idea, all she knew was that she was close and he was holding back.

He ripped his lips from her breast and asked her what she wanted.

“You. I need to feel you…make…love to me…baby.” Liz gasped out as she felt Max settle above her on his knees and gently slide his hands up her thighs, pulling her panties down her trim legs. He then reached up and completely removed her bra. He watched her heaving chest and the scent of her arousal filled his nostrils, making him that much more aroused, if possible.

When just watching her flushed face, swollen lips and naked body became too much for Max, he stood and removed his boxers, crawled back to her, parted her legs and took himself in hand. That’s when he heard her gasp out. He looked at her, his faced filled with passion, hunger and confusion. Did she want him to stop? It might just kill him, but he would if she wanted him to.

Liz watched under heavy lids as he took himself in the palm of his hand and guided himself to her moist center, but she had to gasp as soon as she really took a good look at him. She had thought he was big, but she had never seen his hand against his own flesh and it looked much bigger to her. His hands were big but yet his erection looked huge. She swallowed nervously.

“Liz are you okay? We don’t have to baby.” Max asked hesitantly.

“Yes it’s just that…Max I’m scared.” She whispered out. She was torn between the need and the fear of being with him.

“Of what Liz?” She looked away embarrassed. “That it won’t fit.” He chuckled softly. She snapped her head back “This isn’t funny Max!”

“Liz, trust me it will but I’ll go slow I promise.” He reassured her gently.

“Okay I trust you.” He leaned up and kissed her lips softly and then guided himself inside her. He felt her walls and her body immediately tense up. “Relax Liz.” He was balancing himself on his elbows. He reached out and tilted her head towards him and he kissed her lips softly. That was when he felt her relax so he pushed forward a little more, clenching his jaw and biting back the groan of satisfaction of finally being inside her. The feel of her virginal walls clamping down on him was almost enough for him to go blind. Slowly he inched all the way inside of her, never taking his eyes off her. Her breathing became labored and sweat was forming on his forehead and down his back but he would wait for her to be ready, he would rather die than hurt her. When he reached her barrier he looked at her, “Liz, are you sure?”

“Yes Max…make love to me please.” He leaned down and pushed through. Liz cried out softly and he felt her walls tense up once again, Max just waited barely breathing for her to adjust to the feel of him.

“I love you baby.” He whispered out and kissed her forehead, waiting for her to give him the okay to begin. “I love you too…I’m ready…” He checked her face just to be sure she wasn’t just appeasing him. Once he was sure and he felt her settle, he began to move within her. Stroking her feminine walls slowly savoring the feeling of being complete with her. He could hear her soft moans in his ear and that only fueled the fire. He began to increase his pace and pulled up to kiss her lips, neck and then bent his head to take one of her plump breasts in his mouth.

“Max…oh Max…” He loved the sound of her moaning out his name while their bodies were joined.

“Liz…baby…hmm.” He increased his pace when he felt her roll her hips up into his and dig her hands into his back. Max ran his hands underneath her butt and aided her movements allowing him to fill her to the hilt. She screamed out in pure pleasure from the feeling. She had never felt anything like that in the world and had decided that she would never share anything like that with anyone other than Max.

“Max…yes…Maaaax!” He felt her tight virginal walls clamp down on him right before he felt the rush of her climax run down his erection.

“Liz…ah…Liiiz!” His body shuddered and he filled her body with his seed. His lips sought out hers in a sweet kiss. He then rolled them onto their side and waited until their bodies stop trembling before speaking.

“I’ll love you forever, Liz.” He swore.

“Me too Max, forever.” She cuddled up to him.

“Promise?”

“I promise, Max.”

They both laid in silence, and with their breathing evening out and their souls content they closed their eyes allowing sleep to take over.

Cherie - *MUAH* - It's not a dream...it's all real. So glad you love *my* Max...I get to say that cause I'm writing him and he's all in my mind...(of course that's the only way I'm ever going to have him lol!)

Chapter 18

It had been two weeks since prom night and since that night; Liz and Max had not slept together. It wasn’t for a lack of trying on Liz’s part, but Max refused her because her parents were home. She understood but that didn’t make it easy. She had talked to Maria and Isabel about her first time. She needed to get it off her chest but she didn’t go into details. In fact she was quick to confirm that it did hurt, but the pain was lessened the further they got. All in all it was perfect for Liz.

Now her father was leaving for business, and for the first time in her life Liz wished that her mother had gone with him. She sighed in defeat, knowing that her and Max wouldn’t have a moment to themselves now. It would be a long and dry couple of weeks, she thought.

She decided to go for a swim before lunch. Her mother had made plans for them to go out for lunch. She was looking forward to spending time with Max. He left for work early so that he could leave early and spend the day with her. Something she was very grateful for.

“Liz?”

“Yes mom?” Liz stopped mid-stroke to address her mother.

“Why don’t you invite, Maria, Isabel and the boys over for dinner? You guys could have a barbeque or whatever? How does that sound?”

“That sounds great! Are you sure mom?”

“Yes. In fact while we’re out we’ll stop at the store so you and Max can buy some things for tonight.” Liz jumped out the pool and ran over to her mother.

“Thank you!”

“Honey! You’re getting me all wet! Stop!” Nancy giggled and tried to get away from her daughter, but it was useless. So she wrapped her arms around her.

“I love you baby.”

“I love you too, mom.” Liz smiled up at her mother and grabbed a towel following her inside.

“So, how are you and Max doing?” Liz almost choked on her celery stick.

“We-we’re good Mom.”

“And how is school?”

“It’s going great! I can’t wait until next year though.”

“Ah, yes. Seniors at last.” Liz blushed.

“Yes! And I get to drive! I can’t wait for that.” Liz smiled.

“Oh, that’s right. Max will of course be driving before you.”

“Don’t rub it in. I know that. But that’s okay cause then he can drive me around.” Nancy just shook her head knowing that Max would get stuck driving her to the mall and he hated shopping with her.

“That’s right. Now why don’t you go upstairs and get ready? Max will be home shortly.” Liz nodded and made her way out of the room, but stopped to ask her mother a question.

“Mom?”

“Yes?”

“Uhm…can I talk to you about something?”

“Of course, honey. Anything.” Liz wasn’t sure just what the hell she was thinking but her mother was the only one that could help her out in this situation.

“Well…I…Max and I…we…uhm…slept together.” Liz finished quickly and turned her head away. Nancy was trying to hold herself up. She thought she might actually pass out, she knew the day was coming she just wasn’t ready for it. All of that aside she had never thought in a million years her daughter would be the one to tell her. Nancy crossed the room and sat down in the nearest chair. She couldn’t afford to mess up this conversation with her daughter.

“Are you okay? I mean…”

“Yes! I’m fine, Mom. But…we didn’t…use anything.” Liz took the seat next to her mother, hoping she wasn’t making a big mistake talking to her mother about this.

“Liz! How many times did I tell you? How could you not use anything?!” Nancy was furious, it wasn’t as if she had expected her daughter to listen to everything she had said, but surely her daughter was smarter than that.

“I know! Please I don’t need a lecture, it’s okay though mom.”

“Okay? Liz you could get pregnant, don’t you understand that?” Nancy bit back the bile that began to rise in her throat; her daughter was only sixteen, not even close to being ready to become a mother.

“I know Mom, but it’s okay. I got my period last week. I just…I wanted to know if you could take me to the doctor?” Clarity. That is what Nancy was now experiencing, her daughter told her because she wanted to go on the pill. She closed her eyes and swallowed thickly, saying a silent prayer while she was at it.

“Yes, I will make an appointment for tomorrow morning. You will just go to school late.” Nancy wanted to drag her daughter to the doctor today, but it was Sunday and they were closed.

“Thanks Mom. And I’m sorry.”

Nancy turned to her daughter and saw her bewildered expression. She reached out her open arms and waited for her daughter to crawl into her lap, she then tightened her grip around her.

“It’s okay Liz. I love you. I just want you to be…”

“I know Mom, I love you too.”

They sat a few minutes longer until they heard the car pull up, knowing Max was now home. Liz jumped to her feet.

“Don’t tell him I told you.”

“I won’t.” Nancy promised.

“Thank you.” Liz kissed her mother goodbye as she made a dash for the stairs to get dressed.

Nancy however was still in shock. Her baby was having sex. She could have gotten pregnant…but she didn’t. Nancy took a deep breath, Liz was not pregnant and so she just held onto to that like a lifeline. It was all she could do.

****

“Max, did you call Michael?” Liz yelled across the hall to Max, who was changing into his swimming trunks.

“Yes! He said he’d be here after he helped his mother with something.”

“Okay!” Liz finally managed to find a bathing suit she was happy with. It was a red and white string bikini; one that she knew would drive Max crazy.

“Perfect!” She said as she grabbed her towel and made her way into the hallway.

“Are you seriously trying to give me a heart attack?” Max said as his mouth suddenly went dry. His petite girlfriend was wearing a barely there bikini and he couldn’t touch her. She had to be trying to kill him there was no other logical explanation.

“No. I just wanted you to remember what you have.”

“Oh I know what I have. I just can’t have it.” Max whispered into her ear pulling her flush against his body.

“True, but you can wish can’t you?”

“Liiz, you are so wrong.”

“I know, but you love me.”

“That I do, without a doubt.” She leaned in and kissed his lips and then moved to place a kiss on his exposed chest.

“I need you.” He whispered out into her ear.

“Hmm, me too. But we can’t remember?” She was throwing his words back at him; he didn’t like it but was too turned on to really care.

“I know. So let’s go.” He slapped her ass before he turned and walked down the hall.

Once everyone arrived they ate, talked and swam. All the while Liz kept openly flirting with Max. The breaking point for Max was towards the end of the night, Isabel and Alex had left, and Michael and Maria were getting ready to leave, leaving Max and Liz sitting at the edge of the pool just waiting until they were alone.

“Liz? Max?” They were both startled when they heard Nancy’s voice.

“Yeah?

“Yes, Mom?”

“I’m going next door to the Anderson’s for dessert, call me if you need me.”

“Okay!” What a perfect opportunity that had presented itself. As soon as her mother was gone, Michael and Maria said their goodbyes before they departed. Leaving Max and Liz…alone.

At last, Liz thought to herself. She stood and grabbed her glass of lemonade and took her seat back beside Max. He watched her every move. She had gotten him so worked up that he would be forced to take her if she didn’t stop strutting around in her skimpy bathing suit.

Liz knew exactly what she was doing, so when she knew Max was looking, she brought the straw to her lips and snaked her tongue out. She slowly swirled her tongue around it and then took a long sip of her cold drink. That was it, she heard a growl beside her and before she knew it, her drink was spilt on the ground and Max was devouring her mouth as they sank into the water.

“Max…what are you doing?” Liz blinked rapidly as the water dripped from her hair into her eyes.

“God, Liz, why do you feel the need to drive me crazy every chance you get?” Max moaned out and attached his lips to her neck, sucking and licking until he heard a moan pass her lips.

“I don’t…know…what you…oh Max…” Liz moaned under his assault. He couldn’t stand it; he hooked his thumbs in her bikini bottoms and slipped them off her legs. He placed her back against the cool tiles of the pool wall. He then reached in between them and then slid one…two long fingers inside her moist center. “I want you…can I have you?” He asked breathlessly.

“Yes…I’m yours.” Liz whispered out and watched as he removed his own shorts and slid into her welcoming body.

“Max.”

“Liz.” They both moaned out and he began a slow rhythm in and out of her body, it was too much for her, it had been too long. She lifted her legs and wrapped them around his strong waist and allowed him to love her body.

“Oh…Max!” Liz moaned out and he quickly covered her mouth with his, successfully swallowing her moans. He moved in and out of her body, slowly, languidly taking his time. He watched as the moonlight reflected off the water giving him a perfect view of her flushed cheeks and full lips.

“You feel amazing…so…amazing…” Max panted out softly as he watched her eyes close in release.

“No! Look at me Liz…I want to see you come apart in my arms…” Liz nodded and bit on her bottom lip, she was on edge as was he. Just a few more strokes of his hard flesh against her feminine walls would take her right over.

Their eyes locked, their breathing shallow and with one…two more quick pumps their bodies came in one climatic orgasm that left both of their legs quivering from exertion.

“God…that was…no words Liz….” Max said as he kissed her shoulder, neck and finally her lips.

“I know it was.” She closed her eyes and reveled in the feel of his wet lips against her over heated skin.

“We should get out of here and clean up.” Max pulled away reluctantly.

“I know. I don’t want to.”

“I know, but if you hurry we can hold each other before bed.” Liz smiled; she liked that idea a lot.

“Let’s go!” She pulled her bottoms back on as did he and they began to clean up the mess they had made.

In the back of Liz’s mind she knew that once again she allowed things to progress between her and Max, without using any protection. She was very thankful that tomorrow her mother would be taking her to the doctors. Then they wouldn’t have anything to worry about, she thought.

A/N - Hey guys I'm back. I know you are all wondering is she pregnant or isn't she. Too bad you are not going to find out yet. I'm not going to make it simple to figure out either, but you'll know it when I'm ready for you to know it

Just a few comments -

Flyawayraven - I know what you mean about the pregnancy and I just want to reassure you that this happy couple will be just that. I won't let them destory themselves. Things won't be perfect but don't sweat over it too much.

NorafanofMaxandLiz - Nora, I just got finished talking to you in chat and that was great! So happy that you found the story and are enjoying it

And of course thanks to everyone for the great feedback!

Chapter 19

“Why can’t you tell me where you’re going?” Max asked completely annoyed with the fact that she was keeping something from him.

“Because I told you I don’t want you to know right now. I’ll tell you later.” Liz grabbed her book bag and made her way down the hallway. Her mother was already waiting outside for her.

“Liz…”

“Max, please. Just trust me. It’s nothing bad.” With those words, Max’s rant was halted and he realized that she would tell him what was going on later.

“Okay. I love you.” He announced hesitantly.

“And I love you! Now get your ass to school.” She winked and ran down the stairs out the front door.

Max watched her, and realized she would be the death of him, but what a way to go, he thought.

****

This was by far the most embarrassing moment of her life. Not only was her mother there, but there was some strange woman looking down there at her. This was mortifying. Why had Maria not explained this to her? At least give her warning. She wanted to get the hell out of there.

When she first got there, the waiting room was filled with nothing but pregnant women. That left Liz a little unnerved, but as soon as she was in the room with the nurse, who had her disrobe and then gave her a cup to pee in, she thought it was down hill from that point on.

Boy, was she wrong. There she was laying on her back, legs in the air, and then it got worse when the doctor turned around lifting this object and coating it with clear gel. Liz tensed and closed her legs looking to her mother for help, “It’s okay, Liz. Just relax or it will hurt.” Liz swallowed thickly and tried to relax. Honestly she didn’t know how she could relax, the object looked like a shoehorn and once the doctor inserted it, Liz tensed once again and whimpered out in pain.

“Liz,” The doctor started, “You need to relax, I won’t continue until your ready.” Liz squeezed her eyes shut, took a deep breath and forced herself to relax. Within a few seconds the doctor was done and told her to sit up.

“Okay, Ms. Parker, we’ll send the Pap smear to the lab and within a few days we’ll have the results. Other than that, the pregnancy test came back negative and I’m going to give you a two months sample of birth control along with a prescription…” Liz honestly stopped listening, she wanted to get dressed and cry. Why did she feel so violated? She had presumed that everyone did the first time, this was a stranger after all, but she didn’t like it.

“…month…pregnancy…okay?” Liz tuned back into the doctor, then turned to her mother who appeared to be awaiting some kind of answer. If only she knew what the question was.

“Sure.” That was a safe answer in most cases when you weren’t paying attention, she thought.

“Alright, we’ll see you next year.” The doctor smiled and left the room.

“Can I get dressed now, Mom?” Nancy knew that her daughter was not entirely comfortable with the exam, but it was necessary. She was also thankful that Liz allowed her in the room with her.

“Yes, honey.” Liz stood and walked into the adjoining bathroom to put her clothes back on.

****

“Hey. You okay?” Max sought her out in the hallway between classes.

“What? Yes…I’m fine Max.” Liz was distant, and he didn’t like it. He pulled her off to the side and placed his hands on her shoulders.

“Tell me what’s wrong.” She couldn’t look at him.

“Liz…”

“Not right now Max, please don’t make me. I will tell you later.”

“You keep saying that, but now I’m getting worried.” Liz’s eyes snapped up to meet his and she knew she had to give him something.

“I just, I went to the doctor this morning…”

“Are you okay?” He rushed out worriedly.

“I’m fine. It was the gynecologist’s office. I went on birth control.” He closed his eyes and wanted to kick himself. How could he have not known? They had slept together twice and had not used any form of protection.

“I’m so sorry, Liz.”

“Shh, it’s okay, Max. We’ll talk about it when we’re alone tonight okay?” He just nodded and kissed her lips softly before leading her to their next class.

****

“So what happened?” He whispered out as he traced tiny circles on her stomach that night.

“I asked my mom to take me.”

“She knows…about us? That we…” Max swallowed thickly. If she knew then surely Jeff knew, this was getting worse.

“Yes. I had to tell her, Max.”

“I know.” He didn’t want to upset her and he knew that eventually her parents would find out, he just didn’t think it would be so soon.

“Anyway, I took a pregnancy test and then they did this horrific thing to me, and then she put me on birth control.” Liz’s cheeks burnt just thinking about the position she was in a few hours ago.

“So…the test came out…”

“Negative Max. I knew I wasn’t. I got my period already…”

“But Liz, yesterday we made love and…”

“There isn’t anything I can do about that, I still don’t think I am.”

“Would you know?”

“Honestly, I don’t know if I would. But we’ll wait until this month is over and if I’m late, then I’ll get tested again. Okay?”

“Yeah. Okay.” Max was nervous, it wasn’t that he didn’t want children with Liz, just not now. In the future after he graduated high school and college and had a job that could support them. His head was spinning; they needed to be more careful.

“Now, you want to tell me what happened between you and Samantha?” Max tensed up, how the hell did she know?

“Everyone was talking about it. So spill Evans.” Liz teased.

“Liz, it wasn’t like that. She just asked me if I could help her out with her homework, but I told her that I didn’t have the time. And then…”

“Then…” She could tell he was searching for the right words, the words that wouldn’t upset her.

“Then she tried to kiss me! I was shocked! I mean where did she get off? I pushed her away and told her that she would have to find someone else to help her, because I was taken.”

“Then what?”

“Then she had the nerve to slip me a piece of paper with her phone number on it!” Max was getting worked up because he didn’t know what story Liz heard from the gossipmongers at school.

“And what did you do?”

“I told her to fuck off!”

“No you didn’t!” Liz sat up on the bed; she had not heard that story.

“Yes, I did. I told her that she knew I was with you and that she didn’t have a chance. And to crawl back into the hole from which she came and leave me the fuck alone.” Max answered her seriously and before he knew it his girlfriend was lying flush against him and kissing his neck repeatedly.

“Liz…”

“Hmm…”

“You…have to stop.”

“No.” She answered and continued on her journey to explore his warm flesh.

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Liz.”

“Max.”

“Baby, seriously. We have to finish studying before dinner and besides that your mother is down stairs.” Max said pushing her away softly.
“Fine!” Liz pulled away reluctantly.

“You know I don’t want to stop Liz, but we…”

“Have to. I know. Let’s just finish this up and then I can kick your ass in basketball.” Liz winked and threw herself back on her stomach in front of her notebook.

“Kick my ass? That’s a joke right?”

“No, I’m serious. You know I’m getting better.”

“Yes you are, but you are a long way from kicking my ass.” Max turned and laid on his stomach next to her, waiting for her response.

He didn’t receive one. So he began to read over his notes and then, the response came.

“I’ve managed to whip your ass, so what makes you think I can’t kick it too.” Oh no she didn’t, he thought. He rolled over quickly successfully pinning her beneath him. He then began to tickle the hell out of her.

“Max! Stop!”

“Whipped? Take it back Liz!”

“No! It…it’s true and…y-you know it!” She giggled uncontrollably.

“If you don’t take it back, I’ll make you regret it.”

“Nope! No can…do…s-stop tickling me!” Max jumped off her; he would fix her ass one way or another.

“Fine. This is war Liz. Just remember that. You think I’m whipped, just you wait and see.”

“Sure, sure. I’ll see nothing!” Liz continued to joke.

Max however, was dead serious. He knew just how to get her back for that. This meant war, and he was not going to loose.

****

The next day right after school they arrived to an empty home. Liz found a note from her mother saying that she was picking up her father from the airport and then they were going out to dinner.

A smile played on Liz’s lips and she knew what she wanted to do with the free time. Max however, was ready, willing and able to resist her. It would take all his strength but he would do it.

“Max?”

“Yeah?” He looked up and almost fell off his bed. There standing in the middle of his bedroom was his half naked girlfriend, licking on an ice cream cone. God, he wanted to lick her. What? No! He had to be strong!

Oh, he was failing miserably, but she looked scrumptious. She was wearing a pair of lavender lace boy shorts and matching tank top. Still licking that strawberry ice cream cone. He wanted to be an ice cream cone at that moment. His throat was dry and his erection was at full attention. He was lying on his stomach so thankfully she couldn’t see how aroused she was getting him.

She crossed the room over to his stereo. She searched his CD rack until she found what she was looking for. Once she did, she popped the CD into the player and then took a seat in his desk chair.

She wasn’t playing fair, she knew it, hell even he knew it. He was whipped, he would crawl on his hands and knees if she asked him to, he loved her THAT much, there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for her.

As the song started Liz began to sway back and forth to the music.

Damn baby all I need is a little bit
A little bit of this, a little bit of that

She took the ice cream cone and dipped her finger in creamy substance, then brought her finger to her mouth an licked it clean.

Drop it like it’s hot, get to workin’ that bat
Girl shake that thing, yeah work that thing
Let me see it go up and down
Rotate that thang
I wanna touch that thang
And then you make it go round and round

Max was ready to explode. He stood up and crossed the room to stand in front of her. He pulled his shirt off and waited for her next move. She stood and took the ice cream cone and dragged it down his chiseled chest and proceeded to lick it off. Max drew in a ragged breath, he was going to take her at any moment and nothing would stop him.

He placed his hands on her hips and pushed her flush against his erection. He wanted her to feel how much he needed her.

“Liz…”

“Hmm, yeah baby.” When did she get so naughty, he thought. No matter, he loved it. He quickly reached and grabbed the cone from her hand and threw it in the garbage can next to his desk.

The music was thumping loudly against the walls. He looked her up and down and knew what he wanted. He dropped to his knees in front of her, pushing the lace material to the side and dipped his tongue into her center.

I wanna unbutton your pants just a lil’ bit
Take ‘em off, pull ‘em down just a lil’ bit
Get to kissin’ and touchin’ a lil bit
Get to lickin’ a lil bit

Max dragged his tongue over her swollen flesh. He then lifted one of her legs and draped it over his shoulder, bringing him that much closer to her sweet center. Liz threw her head back as soon as she felt his warm tongue against her heated core. She hadn’t planned on things going any further than her eating the ice cream cone. She was sure Max would hold out. But she should have known better, he was always ready for her.

He brought her right to the edge and pulled away. He stood in front of her panting for air, knowing exactly how close she was to going over the edge.

“Max.”

“Hmm, yeah baby.” He leaned in and licked her lips. Liz opened her eyes and he saw the passion. The passion she had for him, only him. Something inside him snapped and he sat down in the chair pulling her into his lap.

“God, you drive me crazy.”

“I know.” She giggled.

“You think this is funny?” Max asked already pushing her soaked panties to the side.

“Yeah…I do…Oh God!” Liz screamed out as Max slid his cock deeply inside her.

“Hmm, you still think it’s funny?” Max moaned out as he placed his hands on her hips, showing her the rhythm that would bring him to the edge.

“N-no…it’s…hot…” He buried his head in her neck as she began to move above him, he kissed her shoulder, neck and then nibbled on her ear. Max smiled when he heard her moan out his name breathlessly, she felt so good and warm.

“No, you’re hot.” Max mumbled against her breast. Liz continued to grind herself on his erection until she felt her thighs begin to quiver, not only from excitement but also from exertion. Max could feel it as well, she was so close, he was so close but they needed something more.

Max kissed her neck and worked his way back up to her lips. He slid his tongue roughly into her mouth and placed one arm around her neck and the other around her waist and began thrusting roughly into her.

“Max…yes….ah….Max!” Liz screamed out as her orgasm washed over her and then she felt his release deep inside of her. Their mutual moans drowned by the music still playing in the background.

“I told you, you were whipped.”

“Shut up smart ass.” Max slapped her ass as she stood to get dressed.

“Pout!” He smiled at how adorable she was.

“I love you, Liz. I’ll admit that you have me whipped, if you admit that I have you whipped.” He stated hopeful that she would agree.

“Agreed.” She smiled and kissed him one last time before retiring to her room for a shower.

After she left, Max threw himself on the bed, and realized that she had no idea how whipped she had him. He was at her mercy and he wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not.

At the moment, though, he could care less. He needed a shower and some much needed sleep. He could barely keep his eyes open any longer. She was definitely going to send him to an early grave, he thought as he stepped under the relaxing spray of the shower.
