I heard. We get the news- we just don't get the show. Oh well.

. . . On another note, I read on imdb that (apparently) Heath Ledger audtioned for the role of Max in Roswell. Lol, certainly can't imagine that now.

Here in northern NC they aren't showing it either, someone who wanted to see it here would have to drive about an hour and a half. Personally I'm not gonna go see it, that's just me.

See, that's me too. It doesn't really interest me, but I think people should have the right to see it if they so choose. And I'm glad it won the awards. It shows that people are starting to be more open-minded.

Definitely. But I guess that's not the case in my country. I have a feeling Jarhead is being banned as well, and it's already quite clear that Munich is going to have a tough time finding its way to our cinemas.

At least Geisha's on. I really should go watch it, even though I'm not expecting much.

I haven't seen Jarhead, but my friends have, and they didn't give it a very good rating. Lots of sex scenes and cussing, apparently. But who knows? I haven't seen it, so I can't really judge.

I actually really loved Jarhead. I saw it two days in a row. I went with my friend who happens to be in the marine corps. It's kinda true about the things that went on. At the very beginning when Swoff is in bootcamp, the drill instructor is giving him love taps. Trust me, my friend recieved plenty of those.

I think Jarhead gives a realistic view of the marine corps, coming from a younger person in the corps. Yes, there are some things that have been added but I think that overall it is a good movie.

But every person is different.

Like I said, I've really no idea. I'm just going by what my friends have told me. And I don't know a lot about life in the marines, so if it followed what actually goes on, good for it. :D I hate it when movies change things to make it seem better.

It just doesn't really seem like something I'd be interested in. But that's just me.

I liked Jarhead. I'm a military brat, live on the border of one of the biggest military bases around, and have been around it all my life. Not in it, but most of my friends are, and I do pride myself with the fact that I have a lot of knowledge about the military, and it's life.

Jarhead was very realistic, in the sense that it portrayed military guys how military guys act. The sex, the cussing? The average military guy is associated with these things. Those men talked just like your average soldier joe talks, regardless of his branch of service. That's just the military for you.

I thought it was very realistic. Granted, just like every movie ever made, it did exaggerate and play some of the little things, as well as some of the 'that would never happen' things, but overall, i enjoyed the movie highly.

The cussing definitely happens a lot. My friends talk like that to me sometimes and I'm like, "Excuse me, did you forget that you are talking to a woman? I'm not one of your boys."

The one thing that I didn't enjoy -- and even though I absolutely love Jake Gyllenhaal -- was his sorta flabby ass. No, that is not the butt of someone who has been in the marine corps, hell, any military branch. :Shrugs: I always tell my friends that.

haha. Flabby butt, that was a turn off, lol. Marine's are supposed to be built. NOt flabby, not even like that little runt with the glasses that cried in the movie, heeeee.

As for the cussing, I used to have to remind my friends all the time. They got used to it, I guess. Hey, I've even got a couple of em trained that when one does slip in front of me, they apologize! LOL.
