Max tried to walk out of the room but I blocked his way..."not so quickly"...I said...
He looked at me as though I had lost my mind..."I told you that Tess is off-limits,but you seem to have conveniently forgotten that...there are two other perfectly beautiful women in there"...I pointed towards the living room..."but no,you'll go for the one who's not available."

I threw my hands up in disgust..."It's all a game to you Max,it always has been,ever since we first became interested in girls...you always had to make a move on some other guy's girl just for the thrill of being able to prove that no woman can resist your charms."

I put my hands on his shoulders and asked him..."let this one be,I really like her.If you get in the way it'll sour things,not only between you and me but between Tess and me"...it was almost a plea.

I had finally worked up the courage to go and say something to her. She was standing by the window. I took a deep breath and was about to step forward when she called Liz over to join her. Damn it.

I smiled at Michael when he started to talk to me.
"Kyle as a brother...well it's certainly beenn intresting, I'll give you that much. I mean I end up meeting all his friends, so for example I knew Max and Alex already and there very cool. But Kyle's generally a good guy. Helps me fend off Aunt Amy anyways. He's one of the few people I can normally turn to when I'm not feeling so good..." I suddenly realise how much Im talking and snap my mouth shut. Oh no Maria don't start now.
I look around the room to see Kyle talking angrily to Max about Tess.
"But as you can see when he decides he likes something he will not let it go. Very loyal that Kyle. But sometimes has a bit of temper. But hey, most guys do..." I shut my mouth again.
Oh God Maria what are you doing!
"Erm, so anyway, how long have you know Kyle? Why haven't I seen you before? It's rather strange, he normally brings all sorts of people over here."

Isabel

While Liz and I stood near the bay window I noticed that Alexander had been looking at me...SMILE AT HIM...my insides screamed!
So I did...oh no he's coming here,what do I say?...my mind started coming up with the most ridiculous topics for conversations that I could possibly start with him.

Calm youself Isabel...I told myself.I took a deep breath and waited for him to come across the room to me.

I couldn't help but stare at her...when she turned towards me.
And she smiled!
My heart fluttered again.
Suddenly I had no control over my feet as they began to walk over to her. I tried in vain to stop but I couldn't. I had to speak to her.
But what! *Quick think of something!* my brain screamed.
I had reached Isabel. I stopped and held out my hand.
"Hi, Im Alex. That is a stunning dress your wearing. But then it is pale compared with your own beauty."

Isabel

He said, that is a beautiful dress but it pales in comparison to your beauty...I blushed from head to toe.

I smiled once more..."Thank you Alexander,very kind of you to say that"...think of something to say quickly...

"How long have you known Kyle?"...was the best I could come up with

"Oh please, call me Alex. Alexander sounds so formal." I say embaressed.
"Kyle? I've known him a few years. Max introduced a few years back at one of his dinners. But enough about me, tell me about yourself Isabel. What are your interests? What do you love?"

Isabel

"Well I love horse riding...back at home I do it all the time,once everyday,early in the morning.You see I have four brothers so when I was little I wanted to do whatever they were doing...horse riding is the only thing my father actually let me do"...I laughed.

"I also love gardening,it's a hobby my mother got me interested in.Do you smell the jasmine out in the verandah?...I asked him

I smiled. God she has the most perfect laugh imaginable. "I can see you on a horse. A beautiful, elegant lady on a white horse.
The jasmine? I'll be honest with you and tell you that, gardenings rather greek to me. I love to wander in the gardens at home and smell the flowers but I have absolutely no idea which is which. Father says its strange for a man to go and smell the flowers. He says he doesn't want me to smell the roses yet." I say cringing.

Isabel

He's already making me laugh...I thought to myself..."There's nothing unmanly about smelling flowers."..I said

He smiled so I continued..."I know the names of most of the flowers in the gardens back home.I promised myself that I'd go for a daily walk around the Valenti grounds during my stay here.Aunt Amy has one of the most beautifully landscaped gardens in the country."

"Really?" I said. I knew what I was about to do, but I was still really worried about saying it. "Well, after dinner, if you wanted, perhaps you could show me the gardens and let me see what I've been missing."
She's just looking at me with her beautiful eyes.
"But I mean if you don't want to..."
