Owch! Did she just call Michael a cassanova? "No problem with the ladies" she said. Oh God. I'm guessing she would rather be over there talking to Michael. My heart is sinking by the minute. You idiot. You couldn't possibly have thought she was intrested could you?
"Oh, I'm always getting laughed at. Michael will never stop doing that for anything. No big deal" I mutter.

For some reason after I mentioned Michael being a casanova,Alex seemed to withdraw into a shell...I barely heard what he said...

God stupid bloody Michael Guerin. I swear right now I would love to go outside and screw at him. Actually I would love to kick his butt to the ground, but even in my dreams I don't do that big. The guy would kill me!
It's going really quiet, and I feel uttely miserable now. But I know I have to say something to her.
"Is your food ok?" I mumble.

I got the distinct impression that he was uncomfortable...oh god no!...I thought to myself...I've gone and put my foot in my mouth...
I racked my brains to see what it could possibly have been that I said that had made him all awkward.
We'd been having such a good time...don't tell me he's suddenly realised what a fool he's been wasting his time talking to me "the big amazon"!...I tortured myself with those thoughts
Is your food ok?..."Umm yes I am,thank you!I'm not very hungry actually"...Suddenly I could bare it no more,I needed to get out of there and get some air...
I looked in Kyle's direction since he was the host and caught his eye...I got up and said,
"Please excuse me everyone,I'm not feeling too well.I think I'll go outside and get some air.Don't worry I am ok...really I'm fine.I'll be back in a bit."...I walked out of the dining room as quickly as my legs could carry me and headed for the garden.

Oh God. She actually left. Oh this gets better and better doesn't it. The girl actually wants to get away from me. God I'm such an idiot. For a moment I actually consider going after her, but what's the point. She clearly likes "Cassanova Michael" and not "Funny Guy Alex".
I glare at Michael across the table. God I can not believe I met a girl that I actually really like and I already lost her to Michael.
Someone shoot me now.

Once out in the garden I went and sat on bench under the Willow-o-wisp
I cursed myself for getting my hopes up and began talking out aloud like I always did whenever I was upset or angry..."What made you think it would be different this time Isabel?"...I asked myself mockingly
"He's probably in there,heaving a sigh of relief"...I said as I got up and walked on,I just needed to compose myself before I went back in.

Oh look! Is it a tomato? Is it a traffic light? No! It's Alex the funny guy! The one who's turning red cos he actually thought Isabel liked him! God I'm such a plank!
I replayed our conversation in my mind. God I had been so foreward! That's it. From now I don't talk to any girl. At parties I will sit in the corner talking to myself and moping. I'll be the guy who turns into a bitter old man in a big old house all by himself. Hey, why don't I just change my name to scrooge right now and be done with it!
I look around the table. Max is pretty much ignoring Liz, Maria's doing her usual fast gabbling about nothing to Michael and Kyle is practically swooning over Tess.
Max is an idiot because he thought he could have Tess when Kyle had started to like her first.
Kyle's an idiot because he thinks love will always work out.
And most of all Michael's an idiot because he had both Maria AND Isabel swooning over him.
Cover me in butter already, I'm pretty sure I'm nice and toasted now.

I was so engrossed by Tess that I didn't notice that Isabel had been gone for over 15 minutes now...I knew as host I should be the one to go and check on her but I did not want to leave Tess's side for one minute...
"Alex,do me a favour man...go and see what's keeping Isabel"...I said and added a "Please" for good measure

Oh God. I cringe. God why is Kyle doing this to me?
I sigh as I get up from the table muttering "Excuse me."
I walk outside and eventually see Isabel walking away from a bench.
God I'm a sucker for punishment.
I walk up to her.
"Isabel?" I say so I don't walk up on her and scare her or anything.
"Kyle asked me to check on you, you've been a while." I mutter trying to look around at the garden rather than at her.

Kyle asked me to check up on you..."I'm fine,just needed some air."...as I said that I turned and began walking away
