I don't think any of us will ever have it handled.valentinebaby wrote:So today was of course milder, but still enough to let me know that I will never have this mom thing completely handled.
It gets better as they get older...but worse too.
Yesterday my seven year old told me she hated me because I wouldn't let her watch Jerry Springer. If this is seven - I can't even think about what seventeen's gonna be like.
Oh and in the five years my little guy's been around he's: chipped a tooth, gotten stitches, broken a collar bone, sprained a wrist, scratched his face on a sticker bush not bad enough to need stiches again, but bad enough to scar (felt really guilty about that one b/c he wanted to stay inside and play the wii, but I made him go out b/c it was so beautiful). And I'm sure there's been more I just can't remember. And I watch my boy closely - I just watch him get hurt!
In the end all you can do is love them - everything else will work itself out. Plus I tell myself it's not like my parents were mini-Dr. Phil's...and I turned out okay anyway.

Jerry Springer at seven??? The sad thing is you know one or more of her friends must watch it for her to be that upset about it. Hope he feels better soon. If he's really sick though Children's is one of the best places he could be. They're great.NotYourChick wrote:I hope he is ok.kismet wrote:I'm at childrens hospital with my son, because our own doctor made the wrong diagnosis

Thank you for your concern
We just got back home. He had virus infection, but we got the right treatment at hospidal and he is ok now.
The Children's is the best place indeed. Tommy didn't want to leave there
