Chapter 19

“What the hell are you talking about?” Liz exclaimed in a deep shock. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the others moving closer to them. It was the moment of the truth; Liz could feel it.

“I-I didn’t want to...But I couldn’t s-stop h-her...” Serena sobbed, “She was so much stronger, than m-me...” she looked Liz directly in eyes and added, “Please, Liz, you have to believe me...I never wanted to hurt you...You are my sister, Liz...You know that, right?” Serena asked somehow unsure and nervously.

Liz could hear Isabel’s and Maria’s gasps of shock so clear, that she didn’t even have to turn around to see their faces to know...They had never expected something like this...Heck, had Liz expected to find out someday that she had a sister?

“O-kay...I think it would be much better if we went inside,” Liz didn’t wait for the others to respond, she just went inside to what she supposed was Max’s and Serena’s living room. Their living room. Once more, Liz felt insecure. She didn’t know anything about Max’s feelings towards Serena. Maybe Liz was destroying their happy relationship?

But as soon as she looked at Max, into his hazel eyes that were directly looking at her with so much love, all her thoughts about Max and Serena as a happy couple flew away. For a moment, she even felt ashamed...How could she doubt about him? Especially again?

Liz saw that Maria and Michael sat as far as possible from each other. They were so insecure, that Liz heart broke once again. She wouldn’t wait anymore and would tell them everything she knew today...She wanted to end all their misery.

Then Liz saw Serena, who was just coming in the living room, still looking miserable. Liz knew that she really couldn’t believe and trust her anymore, but there was just something about Serena and the whole situation.

Since the desert incident with Kivar, something had changed, but Liz couldn’t figure out what exactly, no matter how hard she tried...There was just something in the air...Could it be that she was just picturing things that weren’t there?

Could she really trust Serena? Her heart said she could, but in her mind, Liz doubted it. Serena had done too many evil things to her. There was no way back.

“It was Tess,” Liz heard faint Serena’s whisper.

Could that be true? No, Tess was dead; Liz was the one who had driven her to the base. Could that be that Serena was lying once again?

“W-what?” Liz managed to say, when she saw the others more than shocked expressions.

“You are kidding, right?” Maria interfered, “You are fuckin’ kidding! Oh God, who are you and what the hell is going on here?” she demanded, her voice rising and becoming more angry.

“Please, let me to explain!” Serena exclaimed and once more looked at Liz, “Liz, she didn’t die then, Tess was just mindwarping and lying to you...She hated you, no matter what, and wanted you to suffer...That’s why she u-used me too in her dirty game...I never wanted that...You have to believe me, Liz...Please, I don’t know what I’m going to do if you don’t believe me...” Serena pleaded with tears in her eyes.

“Continue...” Liz said in a cold voice. She wanted to believe her...Her sister, but Liz knew she couldn’t. Not after everything...But something, deep in her heart told her to listen to her own blood; to her only sister.

Serena continued, “I-I was probably weaker than Tess, so she easily manipulated with me and ...I-I couldn’t do anything...I tried...Oh God, I tried so hard, but I couldn’t...fight. She was too strong...” Serena broke down in the sobs, “I’m sorry Liz, I’m so sorry...After Tess returned to earth, she was more powerful, because...she had slept with Kivar.”

“Why I should believe you?” Liz yelled, “You hurt me so much, Serena! I have lost many years of happiness; my children have lost many years that they could have spent with their father! And it was all because of you and your lies!” she accused.

“I couldn’t control that! She was much stronger, what I could do? Nothing, Liz. I tried so many times to tell you the truth, but every time I was going to, she manipulated me once more...Do you really think it was my pleasure to do all those horrible things? You want to know something? I hate myself!” Serena was now yelling too, “And just today I became free from her...You know what the first thing I wanted to do was?” she asked, “I wanted to kill myself, Liz...I really didn’t want to live in this world anymore, where everyone would look at me like some monster. But I couldn’t...I saw my son and all I knew that I couldn’t leave him. I love him, Liz...He is my and Chris’ son...Although I didn’t sleep with him of my free will, I loved him. And I love my son. I really do...”

Max just stood there dumbfounded. This wasn’t happening, that wasn’t just possible. Maybe he was still dreaming and this day had never happened? There was just no way, that Serena was Liz’s sister, who was manipulated by his previous life wife...Oh and by the way, Jason wasn’t his son, but actually his grandson! Ha, he was either sleeping or he had lost his sanity.

“Why now? Why has everything changed?” Max heard Liz’s question.

“Tess’ powers, and she herself were somehow connected to Kivar. She paid a high price for her stronger powers, because when Kivar died, she died too...Oh god, Liz, I could feel everything she felt...And there was so much bad in her...She was so dark, so evil, so...cold. She probably could mindwarp you all by herself, but she wanted you to suffer...So she used me, your sister...” Serena told.

Liz still wasn’t sure; heck, she probably wouldn’t be ever sure about Serena. There was no way she was going to believe her so easily.

It seemed that Serena had picked her thoughts because after some moments of silence she told her, “If you want, you can connect with me...” Serena quietly suggested.

Liz doubted it. What if Serena tried to mindwarp her once again...Although she had already told her so many times, that it wasn’t actually her, but Tess, Liz still had her doubts.

But she agreed. Something just felt right.

Liz simply nodded and watched as Serena slowly came towards her and looked directly into her eyes. Immediately she felt the connection between her and Serena.

Liz could see it all; her pain, her confusion, her disgust with herself...Everything...And she didn’t doubt anymore. There were just some things that you had to accept and Liz knew she did the right thing. Like she had never doubted Future Max’s true identity, Liz now trusted Serena too; although they both knew that the long road was still ahead them. They were sisters, but Liz’s heart still hurt. Not even just because of her and her problems, but she felt so sad that Serena and so many others had suffered along with her...

And it was Tess’ fault. Once again, Liz cursed the day Tess had showed in Roswell.

Liz believed Serena. Her sister. But there were so many things that needed to be done. Her...no, their father needed to know about his first-born daughter. The others deserved to know the truth also...

Liz was ready for that.

Max watched as Liz slowly turned around to face him. He gulped. She would tell him something important and Max hoped so much that she was going to tell him good, not bad news.

For a moment, he just prayed, although Max didn’t know to whom. He didn’t believe in God.

Max believed in Liz.

“Well, first of all, I want to tell that I’m sorry that I didn’t come back sooner, but...There were just some things...I couldn’t. Maybe I was afraid, I don’t know, but I hope you will be able to forgive me...” Liz said.

“Just say it,” Max said, although he couldn’t really understand about what she was talking about. HE had cheated on her, not even once, but twice; with her best friend and then with her own sister. And now she was saying sorry? Max was beyond confused.

Liz looked at Max and saw the silence support, which gave her the strength she needed so much, “Ok, I guess it would be better if I start from the beginning...And…Could you please not interrupt me? I promise I will answer all your questions, but I need to say everything before that...” when everyone nodded, Liz continued, “As you all know, after I saw Max and Maria together...in bed, I ran away. Not just from my husband and best friend, but also I abandoned my friends, my parents...my home. I went to Boston and I kind of met someone. I met Alex...Alex Whitman,” Liz heard gasps, but continued, “He didn’t die back then, Alex was saved by Zan. And the saddest part was that he couldn’t return to Roswell. Everyone thought he was dead; he needed to make sure that we were also safe from Kivar and to do that he needed to stay ‘dead’, although it hurt him. Maybe even deeper than I thought. Anyway, he told me that Zan was alive too; Ava had saved him. At first, I couldn’t believe it all, it felt so much like a dream; but Alex took me to their house. There I also met Chris and Serena. At first I didn’t know that Chris was you son, Max, I swear...” Liz sobbed.

Max tried to listen carefully to Liz’s story, but sometimes found it extremely difficult. Could it be true? He didn’t doubt about that, Liz would never lie to him. But...Alex and Zan were alive? He had heard Liz talking to Zan, but it still seemed to unreal.

Max could see how Isabel had tensed when Liz had mentioned Alex being alive. Although he knew that Isabel loved her husband, Max also suspected that the feelings towards Alex hadn’t completely disappeared either.

And Liz had confirmed that Chris was his son... “But h-how is that possible?” he asked.

“He was your and Tess’ son on Antar. Chris had been in a pod too; but he had come out from it later, when you guys were already gone. But he had a good life...More or less...” Liz whispered.

Max was stunned, although he’d accepted that Chris was somehow his son, now that he knew the whole story, he was shocked even more. It was the truth. Chris was his son and Liz’s husband. His Liz’s husband...

Liz continued her story, “So we lived together for a while peacefully, but then one day Alex and Zan came from this summit and told us that you, Max, had resigned...You had refused to be the King and the rightful ruler of Antar. And Chris had this powerful passion to be a King, but...” Liz paused and looked at Max. Liz knew that she had to tell him about twins, his twins, too, but that just wasn’t the right moment. She wanted to tell that when there would be just the two of them, “But...He could become a King, just by marrying the Queen. And I was, well I still am, the Queen of Antar...” Liz told as she heard gasps from both Maria and Isabel, while Michael remained calm and silent, but Max...In his face Liz could see so many emotions...Love, hurt, awe, admiration...even anger and confusion, but could Liz blame him for that?

Chapter 20

The room remained silent and Liz continued, “We didn’t marry...No, we needed to bond, something like a wedding on Antar, I suppose. We weren’t a couple, we didn’t share a bed, we were just...friends...good friends,” Liz said, “But I had the misfortune to see him die, not once, but twice...” when Liz saw everyone’s confused expressions she continued, “One year ago, Kivar found out where we were and he attacked, when we weren’t prepared...Chris died as he protected me, my life...For the first time. And today was the second time, when he saved my life. But unfortunately, that day Kivar hadn’t killed just Chris, he had taken Alex’s life too,” Liz explained.

Max saw Isabel’s hurt expression. He felt bad at the thought that their friend had been alive for such a long time and they hadn’t know anything about it, so he could just imagine how hard Isabel was now fighting with her own inner demons. He did the only thing that he thought would be the best. Max went to his sister and hugged her, while he whispered soothing words into her ear. He already felt bad just at the thought that his sister, who had helped him so much, was suffering.

The same thing was happening with Maria. Alex was her best friend and she was hurt and disappointed that she apparently didn’t know anything about his life.

Michael watched as Maria sobbed and he knew she needed comfort, especially his comfort. As he brought Maria into his tight embrace, he could tell very clearly that she was shocked. He understood that. While he didn’t know the whole truth, he knew that the love of his life and his best friend hadn’t slept together. He couldn’t wait to tell her that, so they could live happily forever.

Liz watched how Max and Michael hugged and comforted Isabel and Maria, “Maybe we should continue all this a little bit more later, bec – ” Liz said, but Isabel cut her off.

“No, we are going to finish it here and now...I need to know everything, Liz. WE need to know everything. Don’t worry about me or Maria, we are strong girls...”Isabel said with a small smile.

“Well, if you are sure...”Liz sighed and opened her mouth to continue, but again she was interrupted...This time by Serena.

“Liz, I think it would be better if I continue now for a while, can I?” asked Serena.

While Liz nodded, Max was getting more and more confused. He kind of suspected by earlier that his ex-wife and the mother of his son knew each other, but there was something deeper.

“Again I will tell you how sorry I am, Liz...Although it wasn’t my intention, I hurt you, my sister,” she looked around for a moment and continued, “Yeah, I bet you all are surprised, but I am Liz’s sister...From her father’s side. I never hated you, Liz. Of course, I missed my real father, but my mother married a very nice man when I was only two. He was a good father to me, I couldn’t wish for more. And about Chris...I didn’t blame you for his love towards you, also. I admit, it hurt, hell it still hurts, but that was my own fault. I rejected him when I had this chance and later...he found love with you. But I knew that you were my sister, Liz and I tried so hard to be friends with you, although sometimes, guilt was eating me alive. Tess had and still was using Alex and I to make you miserable and I couldn’t do anything to break the spell. She was so much stronger, Liz...so much stronger.” Tears began to flow from her big, brown eyes, “And that night...Tess was just using my own desires...I felt so dirty then,” she sobbed, “Every time Chris moaned your name, I felt like thousand knives had been put in my heart, the pain was so unbearable, but ...I couldn’t stop, I couldn’t...” she calmed a little before looking at Max, “Max I’m so sorry, but Jason isn’t your son,” Serena said and watched as Max became paler and paler, until she thought he was going to faint.

Max felt literally sick. He had lost his first son, Zan, and now he was losing his second? Even if Jason had never been his, Max loved him as his own and now...To find out that the little boy, that he loved so much, wasn’t even his...But his son’s! Jason was his grandchild! Jesus!

Max couldn’t think rationally, couldn’t even breathe; he felt a deep need to get out of there. His whole life had crashed ...once again. He had lost his son...once again.

Liz saw Max’s pained expression and wanted to comfort him, but he suddenly ran out of the room. She understood. Max needed to be alone for a while.

After some moments Liz turned to Maria, “I guess we still have this one major thing to discuss,” she said and took Maria’s hand in hers, “Maria...You didn’t sleep with Max, it was a mindwarp,” Liz softly explained.

Immediately Maria paled and...fainted. Michael caught her just before she hit the floor.

“I will carry her to bed, I guess she needs to have a little rest,” Michael told and carried her to Serena’s bedroom. In a second, he was back, “So, Liz, tell me, how is that possible?” he asked.

“I did it,” Serena answered instead of Liz and Michael looked at her. Anger was fully seen on his now so rough face.

“What the hell you are talking about?” Michael demanded.

“Tess made me to do it,” Serena started to cry once more, “She hated Liz so much, so much and I could feel her emotions, her hate...There were so much anger in her. I’m so sorry, Michael, I regret it, but I couldn’t do anything, even tell someone, Tess had me completely...” she sobbed.

Liz surprised even herself when she came to Serena and started to comfort her, “It’s okay, it’s okay, I understand....” she gently whispered. Liz believed her and although they still had a long road before them, Serena was her sister.

When Serena had finally calmed down, Liz said, “Michael, now that you know the whole story, could you please tell it all to Maria?” she asked, “I need to find and speak to Max and it kind of can’t wait,” Liz explained. She really couldn’t wait for her and Max to talk. Liz wanted to comfort him and tell how much she still loved him, no matter what. Most of all she wanted to introduce her children to their father.

“Of course, Liz, you really need to talk with my brother...” Isabel said, “Go on, we will be ok here,” she said as she motioned Liz to the door, “Go!”

“Ok, ok, I get it,” Liz said as she rushed outside.

Now the only question was...Where was Max?

Chapter 21

It didn’t take Liz much time to figure out exactly where Max was. Maybe the cause of that was the fact that when her bond with Chris had faded, the connection between her and Max had returned once again, with full force.

Liz could feel Max’s sadness and anger all at once and it broke her heart that he’d had to suffer over and over again. They had been through so many problems and Liz couldn’t wait to be with him again.

Liz stepped out of the car and looked around the desert. Max was somewhere near; she knew it. Liz started to go to Pod Chamber when she noticed that was slightly opened.

As Liz approached the cave, she could feel Max’s emotions much better. It hurt. Liz could feel his pain so clearly that for a moment, she couldn’t even breathe, but after some moments, she was capable of controlling them, more or less.

She went in and gasped.

The cave was so...beautiful and breathtaking. There were candles everywhere, which gave it a surreal feeling. And then she saw him. Max was sitting in the corner, his knees pulled to his chest and Liz could see tears on his cheeks.

“Max,” Liz said in broken whisper.

He slowly looked at her, until their eyes locked, “I knew you would come, you always do, Liz,” he said.

After a minute of silence he added, “Why I can’t be happy, Liz? Why I keep loosing the people I love? Why life is so cruel to me? Why, Liz? What did I do in my previous life that was so terrible that I have to pay for it in this life? I-I never wanted to be a King, so why am I? I have never wanted it...All my life, I tried to be this good person...Never skipped school, helped my parents, tried to be a good brother, friend ...and husband. And still...in the end I’m this bad person...I didn’t help my sister enough after Alex’s death, I-I wasn’t there for you either...And as a husband I am a d-disaster. I have let you down, Liz, and that is something I will never be able to forgive myself...” Max said as sobs took over his body.

Liz rushed to his side and took him in his arms, “Shh...Max you aren’t bad person or even a bad husband...” she soothed him, “There is so much you need to know, Max...” Liz paused for a moment and then said, “You never slept with Maria or Serena, Max. It was all a mindwarp, you didn’t cheat on me...”

Max stopped to sob and for a moment he though even his heart stopped to beat. Could that be? Could his dream have come true? Had his nightmare finally ended?

“Are you sure?” Max asked. He didn’t ask her how or why...He simply didn’t care at the moment. Maybe later he would like to find that out, but not now...Not now....

“Yeah...” Liz whispered.

Immediately Max turned to Liz and kissed her. First their lips just touched and for a moment Max simply stopped. He wanted to remember this moment forever. Here he finally was – in the cave, surrounded by gentle candlelight and Liz was in his arms, again. He didn’t feel dirty anymore; his soul was free and pure again. Max felt like his heart would simply explode from the happiness.

He hadn’t cheated on Liz.

He hadn’t let her down.

Max’s kisses became more urgent and almost desperate. He had missed her so much and he wanted to show her with every kiss that came directly from his soul. At the same moment, Max felt their connection return and he couldn’t be happier.

She loved him!!!

But there was still something else...

Max felt Liz to pull away slightly and he panicked. He knew that she loved him, but...Maybe love wasn’t just enough? Max knew he still had hurt her by telling that he hadn’t wanted kids.

“Max,” said Liz, but Max simply tightened his grip on her. He never wanted her to leave his embrace. Not now, not ever.

“Max,” Liz repeated once more, “There is one thing I still need to tell you,” she told him and felt as his body tensed.

“Soon after I left Roswell, I found out that I was pregnant,” Liz blurted out and waited for his reaction. She saw him watching intensely the candle light at the opposite wall. His expression was blank and Liz became worried.

“Max,” she called, “Max, are you ok?” she asked as she took his face in her hands and forced him to look in her eyes. Once again, she saw tears in his eyes.

“Liz,” he whispered and hugged her tightly. He couldn’t believe that. His Liz had been pregnant with his baby! Oh...and he wasn’t there for her, he hadn’t helped her, hadn’t seen her pregnant with his baby.

But Max didn’t complain anymore. Life had given and taken away so much from him, but from now on he would simply savour the moment and live his life...With Liz and his child; their child.

“W-what...Who...H-how...” Max tried to ask so many different things at the same time, but he didn’t know where to start. He didn’t know so many things about Liz or their baby at the time, but he would spent all his life to make up that for them...for his family...

“Max...We have twins...Claudia and Alexander...But, well, that’s not exactly true...Well...But Zack is now like my own child right now,” Liz said.

‘Wow…Twins,’ Max thought, “Wait...Who is Zack?” he asked.

“Oh, sorry, we named him Zack, but he is Zan, Max...Your son,” Liz said.

Max didn’t say anything, just cried as he held his Liz in his embrace. He felt happy, so happy. Max couldn’t believe that just this morning he didn’t know anything of this. His life had been turned upside down, but this time he didn’t complain. As long as Liz was by his side, Max would be truly happy. He might have lost one son, but instead he got two sons and a daughter. He had got his soulmate back...Liz...His beautiful Liz...Oh...He missed her so much...

Max started to kiss Liz once more.

“Max,” Liz gasped, “We still need to talk about so many things...” she said, but found it very difficult when Max started to kiss her neck, “You still need some explanation to all this,” Liz told him, but Max didn’t stop.

“Don’t care now,” he said, as he started to undress her slowly. He knew they had to talk, but he needed her...More than ever, “Please, Liz,” he whispered, “Let me have you...I need it...I need you...I need your love, Liz...I love you Liz,” he finally said.

“I love you too Max...So much...” said Liz as she finally gave up. She needed him as much as he did.

As their slowly made love, surrounded by candles, Liz never had felt happier. This time she was sure for at least one thing...Their ‘happily even after’ had just begun.

Life was perfect.

Epilogue

The sun was just rising and sunlight slowly filled the room. It was a beginning of a new day.

Inside the room, a young man was waking up. The man smiled when he saw a beautiful, dark-haired woman lying on his chest. Love and pure happiness were seen on his face.

Never in his life had Max Evans been this happy.

For a moment, he simply lay there and savoured the moment. All his dreams had finally come true. Liz Evans was his wife, again, and he had four beautiful children. Max had sold the house, where he, Serena and Jason had lived and bought a new one, even bigger and more beautiful, because Liz and his children helped to decide which house they would take.

His nightmare was finally over, but Max hadn’t forgotten. It was very hard to get over the fact that he had been mindwarped, not just once, but twice. Max felt so used, and even dirty. There had been someone inside his mind, his soul...inside him. He had been manipulated again and again.

But Liz had healed him. She was hurt too, but they had both helped each other. They were each other’s world.

Max had also regretted the words he’d said in the beginning of their marriage. But Liz hadn’t needed his apologies. She had understood his reasons for not wanting children then.

They had married again quickly and today was their fifth anniversary. Max slowly stood up and as quietly as possible, went out of the room. His destination was the kitchen, but before that he checked their children rooms.

Zack hadn’t changed much; he still was the serious and responsible one. He was nothing like his mother. Although Tess wasn’t his mother anymore, maybe she never was. Although she had tried to convince him that she had loved and cared for her son, now Max didn’t believe that. Kivar had almost killed Zack and Tess hadn’t done anything to stop or prevent it.

Liz was Zack’s mother in every sense of the word. Zack was one of her children, no matter what.

Then Max went to the twins’ room. They both still refused to sleep in different rooms. The big bear that Chris had given Claudia was still sitting in the corner of the room. She had kept it through the years. It was still larger than her, but the bear was still Claudia’s favourite.

Lastly, Max came to his little daughter’s room. She was just one year old. Although he had already three children, his little daughter, Christiana or simply Chris, had been like a miracle to him.

He had finally seen Liz pregnant and he had been with her when Chris had born. Max had seen her take her first step and had heard her first word...Sometimes it was hard, because he had never seen his other children grow up, but he hadn’t time to be sad. His children made him smile every day, every hour, even every minute. Max was sure he was even smiling in his sleep!

He kissed Chris’ forehead and went down to the kitchen. He wanted to make breakfast for all of them like he had done every day for the last five years. Sometimes Liz woke up earlier than him and then she was the one who made everything, but Max had convinced her to let him to do this. Max wanted to do as much as he could do for his family, and even more.

While he was preparing breakfast, his thoughts drifted to the events of the last five years.

Maria and Michael had reunited quickly too. Just like Max, Maria had also suffered psychologically from the mindwarping, but Michael had been there for her. Three years ago, Michael proposed to her...Again...This time she had said ‘yes’. They had both been and still were so happy and Max was glad for them. They deserved to be happy after the nightmare they all had been in for so long. Little Chris was the same age as Michael and Maria’s son. Max smiled at the memory. When Maria had gone to labour, Michael had totally panicked. He was running from side to side, while muttering incomprehensibly. But, when Maria had screamed for him, he had rushed to her side and stayed until Michael Jr. was born. Like Liz, Maria also had a painless labour, just a little discomfort. Just one week later, Chris had been born.

His sister was still happily married to Jesse. Like the others, she too, had her own demons. Alex’s death, affected her greatly, even more than she would ever admit. Although Jesse was her husband, Alex had been her first love. But, later, when Isabel had found out that she was pregnant she started to smile and laugh again...just like before.

Serena... Serena had confessed to Jeff that she was his daughter. Jeff, of course, was shocked, but maybe even more shocked was Liz’s mother, Nancy. Although Jeff had been with Serena’s mother a little before their marriage, Nancy didn’t like the fact that her husband had a daughter with another woman. But then, she had seen similarities with Liz’s life. Liz was raising Zack as her own and was very happy. So, Nancy too decided just to live on and look in the bright future, not past. She and Jeff had even gone on a second honeymoon.

Serena had suffered a lot, but Max and the others were surprised when Zan had been the one who comforted her the most. They were even more surprised, when Zan announced that he and Serena were going to be married. Although Serena’s love for Zan wasn’t as strong as the feelings she had felt for Chris, she learned to love him...deeply. The fact that Zan loved Jason very much didn’t hurt either.

Right now, their family was on Antar. After Chris’ and Kivar’s deaths, Antar was in deep need for a new King, with royal blood. In theory, Max had been able to get his throne back, but he hadn’t wanted it. He was happy right here with Liz and his children. But the problem had remained. A member of the royal family had to return to Antar to rule the planet.

Zan had agreed. He had already talked about it with Serena and she had agreed too, although Max and Liz were both happy and sad about it at the same time. They, of course, hadn’t wanted to leave their home and life, but they would miss both Serena and Zan.

Before Serena had gone with her husband and son to Antar, she had taught Liz how to use her mindwarp ability. Apparently, all humans who were healed by an alien had the same powers, although those abilities needed to be practised. Soon Liz had been able to mindwarp as strongly as Serena, but Liz didn’t like this power. Tess had used mindwarping to cause so many evil things, that Liz almost hated the ability. But they needed this...There was no threat from Kivar or anything alien-related, but they still needed to be careful from FBI. The mindwarping ability would help them to fight FBI, if something happened.

They were safe now. Even more, Max had never felt so secure and stable. Life was good.

Max finished making breakfast and went up to their bedroom. When he saw who was lying in their bed, his smile grew even wider, if that was possible.

There on the king-sized bed was his family sleeping peacefully. His miracle.

Liz opened her eyes and smiled.
