Ok, here we go! :D

~ Liz ~

I’m sitting at my desk, trying to slow my heart rate down a little to pick up the phone. I just can’t believe that Isabel Evans, world famous fashion designer, is on the other line waiting to talk to me! I mean, yeah, I had read the tabloid headlines that declared in bold print that she had recently gotten engaged but I never believe what I read on the covers of those things and I certainly never read the inside of them…well, ok, I do but only when I’m waiting at the doctor’s or dentist’s office and I certainly don’t believe what they print.

So when Maria burst into my office, so excited that she couldn’t breathe, I had no idea what to make of it…until she told me who was on the other line, waiting to talk to me about setting up an interview to maybe hire me. This is it! This could be my big break into doing celebrity weddings! I’ve done a few weddings of some wealthy people and most couples are willing to spend big bucks on their “blessed day” but celebrities are constantly getting married and divorced…and married again. Not that I think Isabel Evans is one of these people, but if she were to hire me…it would be my step up into big business.

“But only if you pick up the phone, Liz, and stop sitting here making her wait!” I say aloud to myself. Taking a deep breath, I quickly brush my hair behind my ears, pick up the receiver and put on a big smile. I’m proud of how calm I sound as I say, “Yes, Ms. Evans, this is Liz Parker. How may I help you?”

So here I am, sitting at my large desk in my comfy chair, on the phone with Wedding planner, Liz Parker.

It actually took a while for me to pick out a Wedding planner. At first I wasn't even sure if I wanted one but then I figured that no way was Alex going to be of any help for planning the wedding, so why not get a good Wedding planner to help me out?

So I'm sitting down, holding the phone up to my ear, waiting for Liz Parker to pick up when finally she does,

“Yes, Ms. Evans, this is Liz Parker. How may I help you?”

I smile into the phone. "Good morning," I say. "I was actually hoping we could schedual a meeting together sometime soon. I heard you were an amazing Wedding planner and an amazing wedding planner is just what I need right now to help me plan out my wedding."

I’m trying to stay calm after Isabel Evans tells me that she’s actually heard of me from someone and that I was a great wedding planner. Hey, wait, I am a great wedding planner. Keeping the smile on my face, I have to admit that Ms. Evans sounds really nice over the phone.

“Of course! My office is on Main Street and I’m here almost every morning during the week. I will do my best to work with your schedule as well. When would you like to come by?”

“Of course! My office is on Main Street and I’m here almost every morning during the week. I will do my best to work with your schedule as well. When would you like to come by?”

"I'd definitily like to start planning my wedding as soon as possible." I answer. "I have the whole day off today. Do you think it would be okay if I dropped by sometime this afternoon? Say, maybe around two oclock sound?"

Oh my…! Did she just say this afternoon? I glance at the clock on the wall and notice it’s only just after 10. That should be enough time to get everything ready for her coming…if we skip lunch. “Absolutely! 2 would be fine,” I answer. I cringe at my choice of words. Maria says I only use “absolutely” when I’m really nervous and starting to panic.

My office/shop is a cute little building that really catches the eye from the big open windows along the front. It used to be a small boutique but I refurbished it so that the downstairs is like a showroom of possibilities, complete with sample place settings, faux cakes, invitations, and flowers to a dressing area for fittings and finding complementary accessories for the wedding party or bridesmaids’ dresses. The upstairs is my office and Maria’s is across the hall from mine, at the top of the stairs. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs for Maria and I and one down for my clients.

My mind is racing with all the prep work to make sure the showroom is neat, tidy and clean and to change into one of my “power outfits”. I think my emerald green suit would work ok. I have a brief meeting with a bride’s father who is supposedly just dropping off the guest list for his daughter at 1 but I don’t expect it to last long.

“Will anyone else be accompanying you? Your mother or a friend perhaps?” It might sound weird to ask but it’s always better to know in advance if you need to prepare to soothe wounded egos of those who might have wanted to plan this wedding themselves for the bride.

OT: “Maria”, be ready, I’m bringing you in soon!

“Will anyone else be accompanying you? Your mother or a friend perhaps?”

"Well..I was intending on bringing my best friend along with me." I answer. "That's not a problem is it?"

Ok, the best friend I can definitely handle. They are usually ok with the idea of a wedding planner doing all the hard work as long as they think they are a part of it, especially as the maid or matron of honor.

“Of course your friend is welcome to come along. We’ll be waiting for your arrival at 2 then,” I respond, starting to calm down a little.

We exchange a last few pleasantries and then hang up. I take a moment to take a couple of deep breaths and then stand up and walk over to the door. Yanking it open, I yell down the hall. “Maria! Get in here! We’ve got an emergency here!”

I leave the door open as I move over to the armoire that’s to the right of my desk. Opening it, I pull out the emerald suit that I love with the cream colored blouse. The full skirt flows down to my knees, but I think the jacket might be too much for a first meeting. I hang the jacket back up and yell again for Maria.

The thought hits me that she might be in the bathroom. She is my best friend and has been since we were six. A hopeless romantic with an eye for beautiful things, Maria was the only choice for an assistant. Besides, she has been there for me through more things than I could ever count. I’m not usually one who panics but every once in a while I do and she has been the only one who can calm me down. Maria, on the other hand, panics all the time and I constantly have to calm her down…with the help of her cypress oil.

I quickly change my outfit as I wait for Maria to show up. I can’t help but chuckle when I hear the toilet flush. Do I know her or what?

After I hung up the phone with Liz Parker I quickly stood up from my seat and excited my office.

If I was going to be meeting with Liz Parker at 2 this afternoon, I better go and get Tess. I know she'll want to be there with me when I go see the Wedding planner.

So I close the office door behind me and head down the hall towards Tess's office. It's already 12 and I'm feeling kind of hungry. I'll go and see if Tess wants to stop by that small Cafe downtown before heading to the Wedding planner's at 2.

*TESS*

I let out a sigh as i put the phone down, I love the Magazine but damn if the Editor of Cosmo can't talk the legs of a table but as always Im polite and put on my amazingly friendly voice ahhh such is the life of a publicist at one of the best fashion house in all of America. I maybe a little biast considering the designer is my best friend of life but I knew it the first time I saw her works, she really is amazing and now she's getting married to a really great guy which is nothing less than she deserves and ofcourse I got the honour of being her maid of honour, laughin out loud as I realise the pun.

I reach under the table and slid my feet back into the black leather heels that I took off about an hour ago, standing up I stretch and brush the small wrinkes out of my white silk shirt and navy pants suit.My stomach begins to rumble, ok it's time for lunch I'll just go find Isabel and see what she's up to and how the wedding planner search is going and then food.

Picking up my phone I tell my secretary to divert only important calls to my cell phone, she's been with me awhile so she knows whos important and knows not.My tummy rumbles again and I head out my office door and into the hallway that will lead me straight to Isabel's office.
