Hey guys. I knew some of ya'll would be upset with Max for not telling Diane. Yeah he's an idiot sometimes but we gotta love him. Okay I just finished writing this part and couldn't wait to post it. Enjoy!
Chapter 20
Phillip walked outside to the backyard and grinned when he caught sight of Diane. She was swinging Faith softly on the swings he’d built for their kids when they were young. Faith giggled when Diane pushed her higher and his heart swelled when his wife laughed along with her. Finding the kids when they were six never gave Diane the opportunity to play with a child younger than that.
“Mow! Mow Dinana!” Faith said happily.
Unable to help himself he walked outside towards them. Diane looked up at him her face flushed and her eyes shinning brightly. She grinned and continued pushing the little girl for a while before finally letting the swing slow then stop. She helped Faith and her green alien off the swing.
Faith looked up at the big man and held tightly to her toy. Diane walked over to her and picked her up.
“Faith this is Phillip.” Diane said smiling at her husband.
Faith smiled shyly at the man with kind eyes and waved. “Hi.”
“Hi there.”
Alien came bounding outside from the open screen door and ran around them barking happily. This was the greatest place he’d ever been in. There were so many places to mark and so many things to play with he couldn’t contain his excitement.
Faith giggled when Alien started chasing his tail. Phillip bent down and petted the pup who licked his hands.
“And what’s this little guy’s name?” Phillip asked.
“Lanien!”
Diane put Faith down and watched the dog run towards her and lick her face. Faith giggled.
Wanting to give Phillip alone time to get to know the sweet little girl Diane went inside to start on lunch.
“Dis my puppy. Unca Kal gim him to me fo my birfday.” Faith explained to Phillip. “He gots biggew cause he usta be smawwer dan me.”
“Wow.” Phillip smiled at the little girl.
“An dis is gween lanien. Mas gim him to me cause he lub me.” Faith said showing him her plush toy. “He sweep wif me. I neber go nowhere wifout him.”
“Well, your green alien is very nice.” Phillip couldn’t help be taken by the little girl.
“I gots mow toys. Wanna see dem?” Faith asked her eyes wide with curiosity.
“Sure sweety.”
Faith grinned. “Come on!” She took Phillip’s hand and dragged him inside.

Maria walked into the kitchen biting her lip nervously when she saw Diane cooking. She really wanted the woman to like her. Taking a deep breath she cleared her throat.
“Need any help?”
Diane looked over at the small blond who took her youngest son’s heart. She had spoken briefly to Michael about her and it was clear he cared a lot for the woman. Smiling she handed Maria a potato peeler and a bowl of potatoes. They worked in silence for a while before Diane spoke.
“You know you’re the first woman my son’s ever brought home to meet me?”
Maria’s eyed widened. “No I didn’t know…I mean Max told me that Michael never dated but…”
Diane nodded. “Yeah he was never into doing those things before. They’ve grown up so fast…when I look at them I just wish they were young again. You know where the most important person in their lives was me and their dad.”
“I’m so sorry. I don’t want to take your son away from you. I mean I can’t do that cause you’re his mom and he’ll always need you. I’m not trying to replace you or anything not that I could but if you’re thinking that I might want to…I’m just saying that I don’t want to that is. I-”
Diane held up her hand amused by the young woman’s ranting. “It’s alright honey. Michael isn’t a little boy anymore. He needs a nice girl like you by his side to love him. I’ll always be his mom and though I wish I was still the most important person in his life I accept the fact that you’re it now.”
Maria nodded and gave her a relieved smile. “Okay.”
They continued to work getting to know each other. Diane was putting the finishing touches on her chocolate cake when Michael walked into the kitchen. He gave Maria a peck on the lips before reaching over to dip his finger in the chocolate frosting. Both Maria and Diane slapped his hand away.
“Ow!” Michael moved his hand away.
“Stay out of the kitchen.” Both women said simultaneously.
Michael raised his eyebrow at them but turned to leave a smile spreading across his face.

“So this is where you grew up?” Kyle asked looking around the cozy living room.
He had been nervous about meeting Isabel’s parents but they seemed to be nice people so his nervousness died down. Isabel had showed him photo’s of them when they were young and he couldn’t help but smile at the cute little girl that turned into the woman he loved. He had yet to tell her how he felt but he knew he’d do it soon. He was aching to let her know how he felt and how much she meant to him.
“Yeah.” Isabel smiled.
They sat down on the soft black leather couch silently enjoying each other’s presence. Isabel looked down at their intertwined hands and wondered what Kyle was thinking. Her feelings for him were strong but she was afraid of letting him know. She knew he cared about her but how would he feel if she told him she loved him? She’d never said it to anyone before and was afraid of rejection. What if she felt more for him than he did for her?
They’d been together for a little over a month and though it may be too soon Isabel wanted to know what it felt like to be completely loved by a man. Not just any man but Kyle. She wasn’t deluding herself in thinking he was a virgin but she hoped that maybe if they ever did make love she’d be special to him.
Michael and Maria Isabel knew had already gone past that last step. Isabel had asked Maria about anything weird that may have happened just to make sure but Maria had told her everything was as she expected it to be. As much as Isabel wanted to ask more she really didn’t need to hear about her brother’s sex life.
Kyle bent down and gave her a soft kiss. “What are you thinking?”
Isabel shrugged. “Just happy to be home. I missed it.”
“I have an idea. How about you give me a tour of your neighborhood later? I’d love to see where you used to hang out.”
Isabel smiled. “Okay.”
Kyle gave her another kiss. Isabel opened her mouth and let him slip his tongue inside. Kyle moaned softly cupping her cheek to deepen the kiss even more. A throat clearing and a giggle made them pull apart.
When Kyle saw Isabel’s father standing in the doorway with Faith in hand he jumped about twenty feet across the room.
“Mr. Evans! I um, we were just…I’m sorry.” Kyle stammered.
Phillip tried to hold in his smile at the young boy’s horrified face. You’d think they were sixteen again. He looked down at Faith and smiled.
“Promise you’ll never do any of that with boys until you’re forty five and married.”
Faith grinned not really sure what he meant but nodded just the same. “Kay.”
They walked away leaving a laughing Isabel and a still horrified Kyle in their wake.
“Calm down Kyle. I think we’re old enough to kiss once in a while.” Isabel laughed.
Kyle took a deep breath. “I know, I mean I’m twenty two. I can kiss my girlfriend if I want to.” He said defiantly.
Isabel stood up and walked towards him. She leaned forward to give him a kiss but Kyle stepped back.
Isabel raised her eyebrow. “What happened to I’m twenty two and I can kiss my girlfriend if I want to?”
Kyle sighed. “Yeah I was just talking out of my ass just then. I’m never touching you again until we leave this house.”
Isabel rolled her eyes. “Great.”
****
“Nice room.” Liz smiled looking around.
It was perfect for him Liz thought as she studied were he used to sleep. It was similar to his room in Roswell only he didn’t have posters of bands all over like he did here. He had diplomas and awards form school framed on his computer desk and various pictures of his family. Liz grinned when she spotted a picture of a young Max, Michael, and Isabel. It had to have been taken not long after they were found. She noticed the picture was taken in Roswell in front of a nice house.
“That was the day before we moved here.” Max said coming up behind her.
Liz leaned back against him studying the picture. “You were right. You were so cute when you were young.” She sighed putting the picture back on the desk. “What could have possibly happened to change that?”
Max laughed turning her around in his arms. “Are you saying I’m ugly?”
Liz looked up thoughtfully for a while than back at him. “Yes.”
Without warning Max picked her up and threw her on his bed. He started tickling her right below her ribs where he knew she was ticklish the most. Liz laughed trying to escape him but he didn’t relent.
“Who’s ugly now huh? Who?” Max asked grinning at her.
Liz took a breath between laughter. “You!”
Max tickled her a while longer than stopped. Her cheeks were flushed; her eyes shining brightly. She was so beautiful. He stroked her cheek softly leaning in to give her a kiss.
“I love you.”
Liz smiled. “I love you too.”
Max took her mouth in a sweet kiss; god he loved the taste of her. His tongue met hers and they played with each other languidly. When Max’s hand slid from her hair to her waist he felt her stiffen slightly. He nibbled her lower lip lightly then stopped and moved up to kiss her forehead. He knew she wasn’t ready for more than the kisses they gave each other; not yet. Max lay next to her and hugged her body to his just enjoying the feeling of having her in his arms. Liz snuggled closer to him closing her eyes. Soon they were both asleep.

Faith dragged Phillip around the house looking everywhere for her mommy and Max. She was trying to show all her dollies to him but she had no idea where they were. Finally certain she had looked everywhere for them she stopped in the middle of the hall.
“I don know whea momma and Mas goed Phiwwy.” Faith said exasperated.
Phillip smiled at the look of defeat on the little girls face. “How about we look for them upstairs?”
Faith’s eyes widened why hadn’t she thought of that!. “Thas a gweat idea! Les go!”
Laughing Phillip led Faith towards the stairs. He had a pretty good idea where Max and Liz were but he was enjoying being with Faith so much he let her lead him up and to the opposite side of Max’s room.
“Momma?” Faith called opening a door. She looked around but her mommy or Max were nowhere to be found.
They looked for about ten more minutes until they were finally standing outside Max’s room. Phillip pushed open the door and walked in behind Faith. He spotted Max and Liz on the bed fast asleep.
Faith tried to look on the bed but it was too high. “Are dey up dere?” she asked looking up at Phillip.
He lifted her in his arms so she could see the top of the bed. Faith gasped; she found them! When Max let out a small snore Faith started to giggle.
Phillip lifted his finger to his mouth. “We have to be quiet and let mommy and Max sleep okay?” he whispered.
Faith put her little finger to her mouth. “Kay.” She whispered back.
They were about to leave when Faith stopped him. “Dey gots ta sleep wif lanien.”
Phillip walked with her over to the bed and let her deposit her very well played with plush alien between Max and Liz.
“Kay les go.”
Phillip left the bedroom with Faith in his arms and closed the door behind him.

Diane called everyone to the dining room after fixing everything up. Everyone walked in including Alien who must have smelled the food from outside. The only people missing were Max and Liz. Diane was about to ask when Phillip spoke.
“Max and Liz are upstairs.”
“Dey sweeeepin.” Faith added for good measure.
“I’ll get ‘em.” Michael said walking out.
A couple of minutes later Michael and a groggy Max and Liz appeared in the dining room.
“Momma! Mas!” Faith grinned from her seat.
Phillip had gotten her a special chair that changed height so she could sit at the table with them. Her feet didn’t even dangle off the chair she was so tiny.
Liz and Max smiled. “Hi munchkin.”
“Hey princess.”
They took a seat beside Faith. After saying grace everyone served themselves (Liz served Faith) and stared eating. They all talked to Phillip and Diane about life in Roswell and how they were doing lately. Diane was happy to hear they all worked close to each other. After dinner Kyle and Isabel excused themselves to go out on the town, Michael and Maria joined in and all four left soon afterwards.
Liz picked a very sticky and messy Faith up from her chair. Faith grinned at her mommy showing off her chocolate teeth from dessert.
Liz laughed. “You need a bath munchkin.”
Liz looked over at Diane, Phillip, and Max. “Would it be okay to um, use your bathroom?”
Diane smiled kindly. “Of course honey. You don’t have to ask if you may use our bathroom.”
Liz smiled and took Faith up the stairs and towards the bathroom.
As soon as she left Max turned to his parents, “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about Faith before.”
Diane turned to him. “You know it probably would’ve been a lot easier for me if you would have.”
Max sighed. “I know I just…wanted it to be in person.”
Phillip and Diane nodded.
“Look, mom, dad, I love Liz and I love Faith. I can’t imagine my life without them. They’re it for me.”
“What about Faith’s father? Do you even know who he is?” Diane asked.
Max’s fists clenched angrily at the thought of the bastard that fathered his little Faith. He put a leash on his anger not wanting to blow anything up.
“Faith’s father is a bastard. And he’s never coming back.” Max said through clenched teeth.
Phillip and Diane looked at each other than back at their son. They’d never seen Max look so angry before let alone curse before.
“Mom just give her a chance okay? Dad? She’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.” Max pleaded.
Diane took her son in a warm hug. “If you love her baby than we love her.”
Max smiled. “Thanks.”
Five minutes later a dripping very naked Faith came running towards them holding up three very wet dollies.
“Phiwwy! Looky dis is my dollies.” She had wanted to show him before.
She deposited them on his lap grinning from ear to ear. Phillip didn’t even mind that his pants where now soaked.
“Wow they’re very beautiful.” Phillip said holding them up.
Diane covered her mouth to stifle her laughter.
“Faith!” Liz came running after her. “Oh my god, I am so sorry. I just turned my back for a minute to get a towel.”
“Momma I showed Phiwwy my dollies.” Faith said pointing at them.
Liz sighed. “That’s nice baby but next time let’s show Phillip are dollies with some clothes on. Come on.” She said opening her arms.
Faith went to her. As Liz was carrying her back upstairs she yelled out. “I be wight back Phiwwy!”
“She’s a beautiful little girl.” Diane said smiling.
“Just like her mother.” Max added looking towards the stairs where Liz had disappeared.

At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. It's like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And it's not so important happy ever after, just that it's happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you, and once in a while people may even take your breath away

Okay guys here's the update I promised. Now I wrote it last night so if it's not good blame it on lack of sleep. Okay Enjoy!
Chapter 21
Michael, Maria, Kyle, and Isabel returned from their walk late at night. They had gone just about everywhere around Connecticut. Isabel had shown Kyle the park where she used to do her cheerleading practicing and Michael had showed Maria where he’d spent most of his time fixing up his Harley.
They walked quietly inside thinking everyone must have been asleep until they heard the sound of laughter coming from the living room. Curious they all walked inside and to Michael and Isabel’s embarrassment Diane, Liz, Max, and Phillip were watching home movies. Michael laughed when he saw a younger version of himself and Max sneaking out of Isabel’s room carrying what looked like to be her bra. He hadn’t even known his parent’s caught that on tape.
Diane froze the tape and turned to the doorway.
She smiled. “Come on Maria. Kyle. Sit with us to watch the highlights of Isabel, Max, and Michael’s lives.”
They all sat down and Diane resumed the tape. The screen flashed to Max and Michael laughing and having fun as they hurled water balloons at each other using Isabel’s bra as a catapult. A young version of Isabel came running outside yelling and screaming at the top of her lungs. Michael and Max looked at each other smiling big before throwing water balloons at her.
Angry Isabel grabbed the water hose and turned it on full blast soaking both boys in retaliation. An all out water fight occurred and all three children were soaked by the end of it.
The scene changed once more and now Max, Isabel, and Michael were at the park. All three kids had surrounded a bird that must have broken its wing. Max slowly picked it up holding it safely in his hands. A second later the bird flew off his wing obviously repaired.
Liz looked up at Max taking his hand in hers and kissing it softly. “You have such a good heart Max.” she said softly.
Max smiled kissing her on the lips.
They continued to watch home movies laughing and enjoying the night. Soon Diane and Phillip got up to get to bed.
“All right kids. We’re off. Now I could tell you since there are six rooms in this house two of them being guest rooms Maria, Liz, and Faith could share a room while Kyle slept in the other,” Phillip started. “But I know that’d be pointless cause you’d each end up in your significant other’s bed. So all I’m going to say is if I hear anything coming out of any of your rooms you’ll regret it.”
Michael snorted. “What are you gonna do dad? It’s not like we aren’t old enough to do it.”
“Michael!” Maria hissed punching him on the arm.
Phillip raised his eyebrow at his son. “Well, we might just give you a run for your money. And trust me your dear old dad still has the moves.”
“Phillip!” Diane looked at her husband in shock her cheeks turning light pink.
Michael started making a gagging face and covered his mouth pretending to hold the contents of his stomach in. “Thanks for the visual dad. I appreciate being scarred for life.”
“Good. That should make you think twice about having sex in my house.” Phillip smiled before he and Diane bid them goodnight.
Liz yawned.
“Let’s go to bed kitten.” Max murmured nuzzling her neck.
Liz yawned again. “Kay.”
“We’ll see you guys in the morning. Goodnight.” Max said taking Liz by the hand and leading her upstairs.
A half hour later Maria and Michael bid Kyle and Isabel goodnight before leaving them alone.
Isabel wrung her hands nervously glancing over at Kyle from time to time. Her dad’s comment about them being able to sleep in the same room made her extremely nervous.
“So…” Kyle started not sure what was going to happen.
“So…I mean a-are you tired?” Isabel asked trying hard not to stammer.
“Yeah…are you?”
“Yeah.”
They sat in silence for awhile. “I could sleep in the guest room if you want.” Kyle said breaking the silence.
Isabel turned to him her eyes wide. “I-well, I don’t mind if you sleep in my room.” Kyle looked at her startled. “T-that’s if you want to that is. You don’t have to if you’re uncomfortable.” Isabel reassured him quickly.
Kyle smiled gently taking her hand. “Okay. I’ll sleep in your room with you.”
Isabel smiled. “Well, let’s get ready for bed.”
Kyle couldn’t help but grin. She didn’t know how many times he’d thought about her using that line. “Sure.”

Maria lay cuddled into Michael’s side in his bed. After a heated make-out session (Michael had to stop himself the images from his dad still not forgotten) they both lay comfortably next to each other talking about everything and anything.
“I really like your mom.” Maria said making small patterns on Michael’s chest with her finger.
Michael grinned. “She liked you too.”
Maria stayed silent for a while the question she’d been thinking about all day was still running through her mind. When she had spoken to Diane she had said something to Maria that made her think. She and Phillip had been married for over thirty years and she couldn’t be happier. She had explained how Phillip had been a pain in the butt at first but he’d eventually grown on her. Just like Michael had grown on Maria.
“Michael?”
“Hmm?”
“Do you ever think of being married someday? You know having 2.5 kids and the white picket fence?” Maria asked resting her head on her hand to look at him.
Michael looked thoughtful for a while. Maria bit her lip wondering if she shouldn’t have asked.
“All the time, though I don’t know…I mean 2.5 kids with your temper and my powers? We’d have a real hard time controlling em…maybe one kid and if we like him then we can have two.” Michael answered closing his eyes.
Maria lay back down on his chest stunned. She hadn’t meant herself when she asked him the question even though she secretly hoped it was. Apparently Michael thought about them having kids and getting married. It wouldn’t be now of course. They weren’t ready for that now but Maria couldn’t help but smile at the thought that in the future they would be.

Max woke up the next morning smiling when he noticed Liz tucked into his arms. She was sleeping so peacefully he didn’t have the heart to wake her. Slowly getting up he closed the door behind him quietly and walked off into the bathroom. Once he was done he walked downstairs into the living room and couldn’t help but smile at the sight that greeted him.
Faith and Michael both sat on the couch in their pajamas, a bowl of cereal in their hands as they watched Spongebob Squarepants on TV. It was so funny to see them both take spoonfuls of Fruit Loops at the same time without once taking their eyes off the television. Alien who was lying in front of the couch happily bounded towards him jumping up on his hind legs. He now reached Max’s thighs when he did that.
“Morning Michael. Good morning princess.” Max said to them.
They took their eyes of the screen for a second to look at him and say good morning but soon their eyes were glued back on the TV.
Poor Faith needed to stop hanging out with Michael. Shaking his head he went into the kitchen.
“Good morning sweetheart.” Diane said as she moved around making breakfast.
“Morning mom.”
“Breakfast will be ready in a minute. Do you want your usual?”
Max nodded. “Sure.”
Twenty minutes later Liz, Maria, Kyle, and Isabel joined Max at the table.
“Did you see the Fruit loop twins on the couch?” Maria asked as Diane set a plate of bacon, eggs, and pancakes in front of her.
They all laughed. “I think it’s cute.” Diane said sitting down after she served everyone.
“Mom where’s dad?” Isabel asked.
“He had to go into the office. He’ll be back by lunch time.”
They continued to talk, laughing and joking when two voices where heard from the living room.
“MOM!” Michael yelled.
“MOMMA!” Faith’s little voice called after.
Diane and Liz looked at each other before getting up and walking into the living room.
“What is it munchkin?”
“What honey?”
Both Faith and Michael lifted their empty bowls towards their moms never once taking their eyes off of Spongebob who seemed to have ripped his pants. They both laughed at that. Diane and Liz shook their heads before taking their dish.
“Thanks mom.” Michael said.
“Tank you momma.” Faith copied.
“What did they want?” Max asked.
“Nothing.” Diane said putting both bowls in the sink. “So, I was thinking why don’t us girls go shopping. It’s been such a long time since I went shopping with Isabel and now that I have three girls to go shopping with it should be fun.”
Isabel and Maria quickly agreed but Liz didn’t know what to say. She hadn’t been shopping in a long time. She had stopped going to places were a lot of people resided because she got sick and tired of people staring or whispering behind her back.
“You don’t have to go if you don’t want to kitten.” Max said softly in her ear.
Liz smiled leaning in to give him a kiss. He always knew when something was wrong with her.
“It’s okay. I’m not in Roswell anymore.” Liz said squeezing his hand.
“Okay go get ready girls while I finish up in the kitchen.” Diane said starting to put the dishes in the dish washer.
Maria and Isabel quickly ran off to get dressed. Kyle, Liz, and Max went into the living room and sat down. Faith crawled over to Max and sat down on his lap before getting back to watching TV.
“Faith?”
Faith looked over at her mom. “Yes momma?”
“Diane, Isabel, Aunty Ria, and I are going shopping. Do you wanna come?” Liz asked.
Faith pursed her lips thinking before shaking her head. “No I stay heaw wif Mas.”
Max tightened his arms around her.
“Okay.” Liz got up to get ready.

All four women walked around the mall chatting about their significant others. They all complained in one way or another about what their husband or boyfriends did to piss them off. Seeing the way Isabel and Diane acted with each other made Liz see how a real mother was supposed to treat her child. She loved Amy with all her heart and the woman was like the mother she never had but Liz couldn’t help but sometimes wish her real mother would’ve loved her like Diane did Isabel.
“Ooohh look at this.” Diane said stopping in front of a store. The mannequins at the window were dressed in beautiful evening clothes. “Come on.”
They went inside looking at the various clothes on the racks. “Oh my god I’m totally getting this for Thanksgiving.” Maria said showing them a hunter green backless dress. It was beautiful and the color matched her eyes perfectly.
“That would look so great on you.” Isabel commented taking out a red top and black leather pants from a rack. “What do you guys think?” she asked holding up the clothes in front of her.
“Only you can pull of leather pants.” Maria said shaking her head in amusement.
Liz looked around. There were so many beautiful clothes here but she knew she wouldn’t wear any of it. Though in the past she might have; she couldn’t wear anything that showed off her body anymore.
Diane watched Liz wondering why she hadn’t picked out something to wear for thanksgiving. Seeing a nice red silk top and a black skirt that would look great on her Diane pulled it out. Maybe she didn’t have any money with her and couldn’t buy anything.
Isabel, Diane, and Maria paid for their clothes and all four girls left the store. They continued walking around the mall stopping once or twice to walk inside a store that caught their interest.

The girls walked into the house dropping their bags on a corner of the house. They walked into the living room and stopped when they saw what was going on.
“You gots ta bwush dem like dis unca Kal.” Faith explained showing him how to brush the Barbie’s hair.
“Yeah Kyle. If you don’t brush on a downward motion her hair is going to be all over the place.” Michael commented brushing his own Barbie’s hair.
Max, Michael, Kyle, and Faith all sat down on the rug on the floor playing with Faith’s dolls. The girls had to stifle a laugh at the way they looked there playing.
“Wow Max you’re really good at this.” Kyle said looking over at Max’s Barbie.
Max shrugged. “Well, I’ve had a lot of practice.”
“Okay now we gots ta put dressies on dem.” Faith looked in her toy bag and took out a handful of little dresses and shoes.
They each took a dress and put it on their dolls before putting on their shoes.
“Kyle those shoes don’t go with that dress.” Max and Michael said at the same time.
Kyle raised his eyebrow at them.
“What? We’re related to Isabel remember?” Michael shrugged.
Kyle looked down thoughtfully at his Barbie. “Well, she’s more of a jeans and cowboy boots kinda girl.”
“Not if they’re going to a party.” Michael said putting the finishing touches on his doll.
“I know Kyle; Geez how can you even suggest that she wear something like that. This is a formal kind of thing.” Max said putting the small shoes on his doll.
The girls cleared their throats. Startled the men dropped their dolls on the floor.
“Uh, we were just…” Kyle started.
Isabel held up her hand. “Don’t even try.”
“MOMMA!” Faith yelled getting up and hugging her mother’s legs. She gave each woman a hug.
“Can you boys help bring the bags upstairs please?” Diane asked.
They guys got up. After giving their girlfriends kisses hello they picked up five bags each.
Diane started lunch and soon they were all eating in the kitchen table.
Phillip walked into the kitchen one of his hands behind his back.
“Phiwwy!” Faith grinned hopping up and down.
Phillip greeted everyone before kneeling down in next to Faith’s chair. “Guess what?”
“What?” Faith asked.
“I’ve got a present for you.” Phillip said smiling.
Faith’s eyes widened. “Pwesent? Fo me?”
Phillip laughed. “Yes.”
“Whea is it?” Faith said looking around.
Phillip pulled out a box containing a Barbie. She was apparently a singer whose hair color changed every time she was put in water.
Faith gasped. “Tank you Phiwwy!” She jumped into his arms hugging him tight.
Kyle looked over at the Barbie. “See…those pants totally don’t go with those shoes.”

Hey guys! Thank you so much for the FB. I love reading your posts so please don't hesitate to write. Well, here's another part. I don't know how I feel about it so if it sucks let me know. Love ya!
Chapter 22
“Are you ready for today?” Max asked Liz as they sat together under a blanket on a bench in his parent’s backyard.
Today was the day before Thanksgiving and the day Amy and Jim returned from vacation. Maria, Michael, Kyle, and Isabel had gone to pick them up from the airport. The night before they all sat around the living room and Max without going into detail explained to his parents about how he healed Liz’s scar. He knew they were curious about it but he wasn’t about to divulge any information Liz wasn’t ready to give. Diane and Phillip agreed on the kid’s idea to help ease Amy and Jim into the ‘we know and alien’ club.
Liz sighed. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”
Max tightened his arms around her.
Liz turned to look at him. “What about you? Are you ready for this?”
Max shrugged. “A little bit, I’m hoping they’ll take it like you guys did. If not hopefully my parents will be able to lessen the shock.”
Max and Liz watched Faith run out of the house with Alien at her heals. Giggling loudly Faith ran around the swing set dragging the plush alien behind her. Liz had a feeling Alien wasn’t really trying to catch her; the dog was growing faster then Liz would have liked and was already taller than Faith when he sat on his hind legs. Liz watched Faith trip and fall hard on the ground. Quickly sitting up they were about to go to her when Alien’s actions stopped them. The dog stopped running, he carefully bit into Faith’s little blue coat and pulled her up so she was standing again. He sniffed around her as if inspecting for injuries. Satisfied Alien licked her face.
“You’ve got one smart dog.” Max commented.
Liz just nodded staring at Alien in amazement.
Alien licked Faith in the face again before nudging her towards Max and Liz. Faith ran towards them.
“Are you okay munchkin?” Liz asked picking Faith up.
Faith nodded.
“Momma whea is evewyone?”
“They went to pick up nana and poppy from the airport.”
Faith jumped up in her mother’s arms. “Nana and poppy is comin? YAY!”
Liz and Max laughed at her enthusiasm. Faith crawled over and snuggled herself between them for warmth. Liz watched Faith’s thumb go to her mouth and her little arms tighten around her plush alien. Liz knew she’d be asleep soon.
“Come on. Let’s go inside and wait for them in the living room.” Max said picking Faith up into his arms and grabbing the blanket.

“Michael calm down. You’ve met my mom before.” Maria said rolling her eyes as Michael shuffled his feet restlessly.
“Yeah, your mom; I haven’t met your dad yet and if the stories Kyle was telling me where true I don’t think I’ll be calm anytime soon.”
“What stories?”
“The one about the guy who stupidly asked you out in front of your dad when he was still in uniform and got shot in the leg. Or the time your dad found you making out with some guy on your porch and killed him right in front of your eyes.” Michael said wide-eyed as if he could see himself in that position.
Maria rolled her eyes. “Michael, Kyle’s lying to you. We weren’t on the porch when my dad killed Billy…we were on the couch.”
“What!” Michael turned ghost white.
Phillip chuckled from a couple of feet away. “Stop scaring the poor guy Maria.”
Maria grinned winking at him.
“Aww don’t worry sweetie everyone loves you!” Diane gushed wiping a speck of dirt from Michael’s cheek.
“Aww don’t worry shmookie! My dad won’t shoot you till after Thanksgiving dinner.” Kyle said grinning.
Isabel bit her lip not wanting to show her nervousness. Kyle noticed her look of concern and wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her close to him.
“Don’t worry baby. My mom and dad are gonna love you,” he turned twinkling eyes to Michael. “You on the other hand will be missed.”
Michael glared at Kyle ready to retaliate when Maria’s voice cut him off.
“Look! There they are!” Maria jumped up and down waving at her parents to catch their attention.
Amy and Jim smiled and made their way through the crowd towards their over excited daughter. When they had received her call about Thanksgiving with the Evans both parents had been a little wary. They didn’t know Diane or Phillip and it kind of felt like they were intruding on their family holiday. Maria had reassured them that they were invited and were far from being an inconvenience. She had talked to her parent’s for hours about what had been going on in Roswell while they were gone and how everything was getting along. Jim had been surprised when Maria had mentioned having a boyfriend then he was even more surprised to hear Kyle and Liz were also attached and their significant other’s were all related.
Liz was who worried them most though. It had been rare for Liz to leave the house let alone pursue a relationship with someone. Liz’s life had revolved around Faith and it was strange to hear she was madly in love with this Max Evans guy. Without the consent of his wife Jim had done a background check on him. The only thing he found that was of some interest was that Max Evans and his siblings were adopted in Roswell years back. It eased some of Jim’s concerns when he found out that Max had graduated from college and was currently working at a law firm but he needed to meet the kid and his family first before he made any real judgments on him.
Maria and Kyle he knew could take care of themselves but he always worried about Liz. Though she wasn’t his real daughter Jim always saw her as one and couldn’t help wanting to protect her. She was so fragile to him and he needed to make sure she was well taken care of. The poor girl had been through so much and Jim didn’t want her to suffer anymore. She was an angel without wings and didn’t deserve what had happened to her.
Jim had never forgotten about Liz’s rapist but try as he might he couldn’t get the guy’s identity. They had used the sperm sample collected from the hospital for DNA but there were no matches on the computer. The guy had obviously never been committed of a crime before. Frustrated he had tried to get the information out of Liz assuring her that if she told him they could catch the bastard and throw him in jail but Liz was tight lipped. She absolutely refused to give anything away thinking that it was better to just forget it and move on but Jim could never forget it. As long as the creep was still out there he would never forget and he would never stop trying to find him.
“Mom! Daddy!” Maria grinned hugging her parents tightly.
“Hello buttercup.” Jim grinned.
Amy turned to her son. “Sweetie I know it’s hard for you to let go of such a beautiful young lady but do you think you have a hug for your mom?”
Kyle grinned his smile so much like his father’s and stepped forward to embrace his mom. “Hey mom.”
Kyle gave his father a manly hug and pat on the back. “Hey dad.”
Kyle turned and took Isabel’s hand. “Mom, Dad, this Isabel.”
Isabel smiled her brightest smile. “Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Valenti.” She said politely.
“My you’re beautiful…are you sure you’re my son’s girlfriend?” Amy smiled.
Isabel blushed.
“Mom, Daddy this is Michael and these are Diane and Phillip Evans.” Maria said grinning.
“Well aren’t you a handsome young man. Good genes must run in the family. When you and Maria decide to have kids they’ll be very cute.” Amy said inspecting Michael. “You have a strong aura…yes they’d turn out to be very fine children indeed.”
“Um…thanks?” Michael said awkwardly.
Jim looked Michael up and down but didn’t comment. He’d save his interrogation for later.
“Hello Michael.” Jim shook the young man’s hand briefly.
“Hello sir.”
Amy and Jim turned to the Evans and shook hands. “Thank you so much for inviting us.” Amy smiled at Diane.
Diane waved off her thanks. “Oh it was our pleasure. We really wanted to get to know the parent’s of the kids that have become such a part of our children’s lives.”
“Well, we’re very happy to join you.” Jim smiled genuinely.
“Where are Liz and Faith?” Amy asked.
“At home with Max; they decided to stay.” Diane answered.
“Well, let’s get moving. I want to see my sweet little angel.” Amy said starting to walk off; soon she and Diane where deep in conversation.
Phillip engaged Jim in conversation as well and the kids trailed off behind them.
“Did you see that look your dad gave me?” Michael asked Maria. “He hates me! He’ll probably kill me in my sleep!”
Maria rolled her eyes. “Michael he didn’t even speak to you. All he said was hello.”
“Yeah well you heard hello, I heard I’m gonna murder you as soon as I get some alone time.” Michael said glancing at Jim nervously.
“Oh brother.” Maria shook her head.

The doorbell rang at the Evans house and Liz froze on the couch. This was it.
“You can wait here if you want baby. I can get the door.” Max said standing up with Faith in his arms who’d woken up a half hour ago.
Liz shook her head. “No. No, I-I’ll go with you.”
Standing up Liz took Max’s hand and all three went to answer the door. As soon as they opened it Diane greeted them then stepped inside.
“NANNA!” Faith yelled jumping from Max’s arms into Amy’s.
Amy laughed dropping her bags to catch her. “Hello angel.”
“I miss you nanna.” Faith said hugging her tightly.
“I missed you too.” Amy attached Faith to her side and looked up at Max and Liz.
She noticed the way Liz held tight to Max’s hand as if she never wanted to let go. Amy narrowed her eyes; there was something different about her like she was glowing.
“Hey Amy.” Liz said stepping forward to give her a hug. “How was your trip?”
“Good…great actually.” Amy grinned.
“I’m glad.” Liz said going back to Max’s side.
“Nice seeing you again Max.” Amy said looking at the handsome young man.
“It’s nice seeing you too ma’am.” Max said taking her hand to shake.
“Um, there are like ten people back here who would really like to get inside the house.” Kyle said from behind Amy.
Amy stepped out of the way to let Kyle, Isabel, Michael, and Maria in. Jim and Phillip held up the end.
“POPPY!” Faith stretched out her hands for Jim.
Jim smiled so brightly he could’ve lit up the entire house. “Squirt!” He took Faith from Amy and lifted her into the air.
Faith laughed loudly.
Jim hugged her tight. He’d missed the little girl so much!
Jim looked up and finally set eyes on Liz and Max. He couldn’t help sizing the man that Liz seemed to be holding tight to. He noticed the protective way he held Liz by the waist close to him.
Liz smiled. “Hello Jim.”
She walked over to him enfolding him in a tight hug. Jim looked down at Liz noticing for the first time the shine in her eyes.
“Hey Lizzie. You look beautiful.”
Liz blushed. “Thank you.”
Jim turned to Max. “You must be Max.”
“Yes sir.” Max shook Jim’s hand firmly.
“Why don’t you take Jim and Amy’s bags up to the guest room Michael? Kyle and Max can help.” Diane said.
“Sure mom.” Michael said picking up Amy’s bags. Max and Kyle picked up the rest of the bags and followed Michael upstairs.
“Let’s get to know each other better in the living room.” Diane suggested.
****
The families sat around the living room talking. Diane and Amy happily spoke to each other about taking care of their kids. Phillip and Jim talked about their jobs and sports. The kids looked around at their parents glad to see them getting along so well.
Liz had kept her hair in her face hoping Amy and Jim wouldn’t notice her now smooth cheek. So far they hadn’t mentioned anything apart from how beautiful she looked. A loud barking came from the backyard.
“You have a dog?” Amy asked Diane.
“Uh, actually that’s Alien.” Liz said getting up to let Alien into the house.
He quickly ran inside. There were two scents in the house that he needed to explore. Alien went straight to Jim smelling him for a while before turning to Amy. He remembered these smells! He attempted to jump onto the couch to lick their faces but a strong voice stopped him.
“Alien, down.” Max ordered.
The dog padded over to Max licked his hand affectionately and lay down at his feet. Alien knew when that voice was used he obeyed.
“Why don’t I get started on dinner?” Diane said getting up.
“Oh, I’ll help.” Amy said following Diane to the kitchen. Alien immediately went after them hoping to be given food.
“Poppy! I forgotted to show you lanien!” Faith said scooting off the couch and running towards her toy chest in the corner of the room where her green alien was sleeping.
She carried him towards Jim dropping him on his lap with a big smile.
Jim looked at the well played with toy and smiled. It looked like the color used to be a bright green but with Faith’s love and care the green was dimmed down to a nice shade of dirty ‘more brown than green’ green.
“Mas gim him to me.” Faith grinned.
“He’s great squirt.” Jim smiled.
“Phiwwy gim me a new dolly. She pweety.” Faith said before running off to get the doll and quickly returning to show him.
“Well you now this dolly will go perfectly with the present I got you.” Jim said thoughtfully.
Faith’s eyes widened. “Pwesent?”
“Uh-huh. It’s in my bag; do you think I should get it?” He asked her his eyes twinkling.
“Yes! Yes!” Faith said hopping up and down.
“Why don’t I show you where your bag is Mr. Valenti.” Max offered.
Jim nodded. “That would be great.”
Max and Jim got up and Max led him up the stairs to the guest room.
“You know I’m glad we finally have some time alone.” Max said surprising Jim.
“Do you? And why is that?” Jim asked looking at the young man curiously.
“I just wanted to let you know that I love Liz and Faith more than life itself. They’re the best things that have ever happened to me and I can’t imagine life without them. Your approval of me means a lot to both of us because you’re the father she never had. You’re family means the world to her so you guys mean the world to me. All I want is to make Liz happy to see her laugh and smile.” Max’s eyes didn’t waver from Jim’s. “Look, I know you don’t know me but if you gave me a chance I know we can be friends.”
Jim looked into Max’s eyes with new found respect. Years working in the police force had taught Jim to see through people. To read their eyes for anything they may be lying about. When he looked into Max Evans eyes he was blown away. He saw the sincerity in them, the love he had for Liz and Faith. When he spoke of them his eyes had glittered with affection.
“Lizzie’s had a tough life. We’ve been there for her and Faith for over five years. She’s never needed anyone but us before then. What makes you think she needs anyone now?” Jim asked.
Max looked away. An image of Liz smiling shyly at him came to mind; another of Liz and Faith sleeping peacefully in bed while he watched them.
He met Jim’s eyes. “It’s destiny Mr. Valenti. Liz makes me feel alive and I like to think I make her feel the same way.”
“He does make me feel that way Jim.” Liz said from the doorway.
Liz walked over to Max taking his hand. “I need him Jim, like I need my next breath. I love him so much it hurts sometimes.” She said genuinely.
Jim looked at the two kids in front of him. Not kids; adults. Smiling he stroked Liz’s arm affectionately.
“As long as you’re happy I’m happy.”
Jim grabbed his bag with Faith’s present and walked out leaving Max and Liz alone.
“How long where you standing there?” Max asked wrapping his arms around her.
Liz smiled. “Long enough. I can’t believe how much I love you.”
Max grinned back. “Just about as much as I love you.”
****

Chapter 23
“May I have a word with you son?” Jim asked Michael as everyone stood up from the dining room table after dinner.
Michael swallowed hard before nodding and following Jim to the hall.
“Did you know I was the Sheriff in Roswell before I retired?” Jim started. “Yup, I know how to shoot and operate a gun like a pro…I’ve got a collection of them you know.”
“Guns?” Michael didn’t know who just spoke. That squeaky high pitched voice couldn’t have been him talking right now.
“Oh yes. I’ve got at least thirty. All polished and loaded in case of emergencies.” Jim nodded.
“That’s,” Michael cleared his throat. “That’s good to know.”
“Look Michael, I know you’re probably a good kid but let’s get one thing straight here. Maria is my baby girl. If you make her cry I’ll kill you. If you hurt her I’ll kill you. If you break her heart I’ll hand you yours on a platter. Are we clear?”
“I’d never hurt Maria sir. I love her. It may not be now, it may not be next year…but I’m going to marry your daughter. I’m letting you know now that I’m not going anywhere. Maria accepts me for who I am, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect girl. Maria is special and I want to be with her as long as she’ll have me. Sir, I’d really like for us to get along. For Maria if not for me.”
Jim stared at Michael for a while before shrugging. “Well, your speech wasn’t as good as Max’s but it was still good. You kids take the fun out of threatening you.”
Michael smirked. “Sorry sir.”
Jim sighed. “All right. Let’s get to the living room before they eat all the dessert.”
Michael grinned. “Okay.”
****
“Oh no we don’t mind Tam…it’s fine…yes, well we’ll see you guys tomorrow,” Diane laughed. “Give Jamie a big kiss from Aunt Diane...okay bye.”
Diane hung up the phone and looked around the living room at Phillip, Amy, and Jim. “Well that was Tammy. She, George, and Jamie are all joining us for Thanksgiving tomorrow.”
“It’s going to be a full house.” Phillip commented while he sipped his wine.
Diane frowned. “Speaking of full house…where are the kids?”
****
“Michael it’s my turn! You’ve been hogging it since Jim built it!” Kyle complained.
Michael grinned racing around Kyle in a pink scooter. “Five more minutes.” He said kicking the ground to go faster.
“You said that ten minutes ago!” Kyle yelled after Michael.
“You know what would be nice,” Liz started as she watched Michael ride the scooter from Max’s lap. “If you guys would give Faith a turn since it is her present.”
“I don’t know baby, I mean, she seems to be happy without it.” Max commented looking over at Faith.
Faith sat happily with her four dollies and her plush alien inside the scooter box. She’d giggle and talk to herself on occasion while she played.
“Michael! It’s been five minutes!” Kyle huffed.
“It’s a little sad watching two grown men fight for a pink scooter.” Maria said sitting back on the bench.
Isabel sighed. “Yeah well…Michael and Kyle are a little sad.”
“Baby!” Kyle whined coming over to them and sitting next to Isabel. “Michael’s hogging the scooter!”
Isabel took his hand. “Don’t you worry little Kyle! We’ll go to Toy’s R Us tomorrow and get you one just like Michael’s.” she said speaking to him as if he were an ill tempered child.
Kyle raised his eyebrow at her seriously for a while. “…Okay!” he grinned.
Isabel shook her head.
Diane, Jim, Amy, and Phillip came out through the screen door. “How you kids doing out here?” Diane asked.
“We’re good…we’d be doing great if your son didn’t keep hogging the scooter.” Kyle said sending Michael an evil glare.
Diane laughed. “Yes, well, Michael never did like to share.”
“What’s up mom?” Isabel asked wondering why the grown up’s were outside with them.
“Oh! Your Aunt Tammy, Uncle George, and Jamie are having Thanksgiving with us.”
“That’s great! I haven’t seen them in a while.” Isabel smiled. “How old is Jamie now?”
“She just turned five. Faith will have a little friend to play with.” Dian smiled looking over at Faith.
Alien bounded outside once he finished his Puppy chow. He wagged his tail sniffing everyone on occasion when he spotted Michael moving really fast. He wanted to play chase! Alien ran after Michael who as soon as he saw the dog head towards him rode faster. Everyone turned to watch as Alien caught up to Michael and lunged at him knocking him off the scooter and to the ground. Alien wagged his tail excitedly at having caught him and licked Michael’s face with enthusiasm.
“Stop! Get off!” Michael tried to push the dog away but failing to do so.
Everyone laughed as he struggled with the pup.
“Alien stop it!” Liz yelled after she had stopped laughing but the dog was oblivious.
“Max! Get Cujo off me!”
“Alien! Come here!” Max’s strong voice called out.
Alien looked up then took off towards Max. He got up on his hind legs resting his paws on Max’s knees and licking at Liz who was still on his lap. Liz laughed petting him on the head.
Michael walked towards them grumbling. “You guys should keep that thing in a cage.”
“Aww shmookie! He was just twying to pway wif you.” Kyle smiled evilly.
“Shut up Kyle.” Michael glared at him as everyone laughed again.
“Momma?” Faith’s little voice interrupted them.
Liz looked over at Faith who had her arms raised to be carried. The box was too big for her to climb out of. Getting up Liz lifted Faith into her arms then bent down to pull out her toys. She sat next to Max on the bench with Faith on her lap.
“Guess what Faith?” Diane smiled at the little girl.
“What?” Faith asked her eyed big with curiosity.
“My little niece Jamie is coming to play with you tomorrow.”
“To pway wif me?” Faith asked her eyes wide.
“Yes, to play with you.” Diane grinned.
“Yay! Momma! You heaw! Jamie come to pway wif me!” Faith clapped excitedly.
Liz laughed. “Yeah, I heard munchkin.”
“Is tomowow heaw yet?” Faith asked making them all smile.
“No, princess tomorrow isn’t here yet.” Max said stroking her cheek.
“When is tomowow gettin heaw?
“When you go to bed and sleep then wake up. That’s when it’ll be tomorrow.” Kyle explained.
“Den les go to bed people what we waitin fo?” Faith said climbing off Liz’s lap with her plush alien in hand and walking towards the screen door.
Faith turned back to look at them. Why weren’t they getting up? “Momma, Mas, time fo bed.”
“Well, you heard the lady. It’s time for bed.” Max said getting up.
“Max…it’s seven o’clock.” Isabel said looking down at her watch.
“Which means I’ll get a hearty,” he stopped and counted in his head. “Fourteen hours of sleep.”
“Mas…we no gots all day.” Faith said tapping her little foot on the floor.
Max ran towards her picking her up in the air and blowing loud raspberries on her tummy. Faith giggled loudly.
“You need to brush your teeth and take a bath before bed.” Max told her opening the screen door.
“Kay.” Faith said. She turned around in Max arms to look over his shoulder. “Night, night, evewyone.”
“Night Faith.” They all answered.
“Why don’t we go warm up inside? It’s getting kind of chilly out here.” Amy commented.
Everyone got up. Liz bent over to pick up the Barbie she dropped. Without thought she tucked her hair behind her ears.
“L-Lizzie? What happened to your face?” Amy asked slowly coming towards her. “Where’s your scar?”
Jim turned to look at Liz and noticed her unmarred skin. “I’d like to know that too.”

Hey guys! I'm supposed to be on a mini vacation chillin with my cousin in Boston but yesterday I came across a man who told me he was sent by lairabehr and I was forced to write another part. Behrluv32 has a twenty page paper to write

Chapter 24
Max tucked Faith into bed giving her a soft kiss on the forehead. She grinned up at him holding tightly to her stuffed alien. Max couldn’t help but smile back down at her. She was so beautiful, so precious to him. He loved her so much it amazed him sometimes.
“Nighty, night princess.”
“Nighty, night Mas.” Faith answered yawning widely.
Max gave her another kiss before walking towards the door.
“Mas?” Faith’s little voice stopped him.
“Hmm?”
“I lub you.”
Max grinned. “I love you too sweetie.”
Max closed the door to her room and made his way downstairs. He didn’t know how he could’ve possibly gone through life all this time thinking he was even remotely happy. Meeting Liz and Faith showed him what real happiness felt like. He knew he could never live without them. He’d rather die than be without his beloved girls.
Making his way into the living room his smile quickly faded when he saw the tension filled looks everyone was giving each other. He noticed how Michael, Isabel, his mom, and dad stood on one side of the room while Jim, Amy, Maria, and Kyle stood on the other. Liz was alone in between them hugging her self round the middle.
“Liz?” Max asked quickly making his way to her and wrapping his arms around her body protectively.
He looked at everyone curiously wondering why they were all so tense all of a sudden. Maria and Kyle looked white as paste. Michael and Isabel looked both anxious and terrified. Though Amy had a curious look on her face Jim looked suspicious. His parents stared at him worriedly.
“Mom? Dad? What’s going on?” Max asked.
“Well, Jim and Amy want to know where Liz’s scar went.” Diane said wringing her arms nervously.
Max felt his heart thud in his chest. It was time. Taking a deep breath he held on to Liz tightly before looking Jim squarely in the face.
“I healed it.”
Jim raised his eyebrow. “You what?”
“I healed it.” Max repeated.
“And how exactly did you do that?” Amy asked. “Did you take her to a plastic surgeon? Is that what you mean?”
Max shook his head. “No, ma’am. I healed her…using my powers.”
Jim and Amy stared at him in silence for a while before Amy shook her head. “What?”
Max opened his mouth to explain but Liz beat him to it. “Max is an alien. He, Isabel, and Michael were all in the 1947 crash. They were kept in pods for years until they finally hatched in 1989.”
“Phillip and I were driving through the desert that night.” Diane continued for Liz. “I remember it like it was yesterday. We had just come from the doctor’s office earlier that day. We had just been told we’d never be able to have children of our own.” Diane bit her lip holding back a surge of emotion. Phillip hugged his wife to him. “I had been crying all day wondering why god would do this to us…what had we done that he had to punish us this way. Phillip had decided to drive for a while knowing I needed time to think. I remember him driving us far into the desert before I had asked him to stop. I had seen something walking ahead of us and thought maybe some hikers must have gotten lost. When I got out of the car I noticed they weren’t hikers at all…they were children.”
Diane looked at her kids affectionately. “They were naked and they couldn’t speak but I noticed the way they held tightly to each other’s hands and how they somehow communicated to each other with their minds. Max,” Diane smiled. “Max put both Michael and Isabel behind him in a form of protection. Isabel stayed behind Max obediently but Michael refused to stand back and stood right next to Max as if he could even the odds between me and Phillip. I spoke kindly to them letting them know I wasn’t there to hurt them. It took a while but they finally trusted me and let me wrap blankets around them. Phillip and I brought them home with us. After going through some legal things we finally got a chance to adopt them. It was the happiest moment of my life. I wasn’t angry at god anymore; yes I wasn’t able to physically have them but he had given me these three wonderful gifts.”
Amy looked close to tears after Diane’s speech. Jim’s expression remained blank and his voice was ruff when he spoke. “So, you’re telling me that your children…my daughters and son’s boyfriends and girlfriend are aliens?”
Despite the circumstances Liz couldn’t stop the small smile from appearing fleetingly on her face. This was the first time Jim had actually gone out and called her his daughter.
“Yes, Jim, we are.” Phillip said looking at the man he quickly had considered a friend.
Jim shook his head. “This is impossible.”
Amy looked at her husband. “Really Jim? I mean didn’t your dad believe in aliens?”
Jim turned to her. “You can’t be serious...Amy everyone thought he was crazy! He was a laughing stock! He-“
“But you never thought that. Jim why is this so hard for you to believe?” Amy asked her husband curiously.
“It’s just…no! There’s no such thing.” Jim denied.
Michael walked over to Jim and touched his shirt changing it from the blue jean color to black then back again. Jim stared at Michael stunned.
“I can do a lot more than that.” Michael said stepping back to stand by his sister.
Jim looked at Maria and Kyle noticing they didn’t look the least surprised.
“You knew about this?” He asked almost accusingly.
Maria and Kyle walked over to their significant other’s and held their hands. They stood back looking at both their parents.
“Yes we did daddy.” Maria said defiantly.
“We’ve known for a while now dad.” Kyle said squeezing Isabel’s hand.
Jim couldn’t believe this. His children were going out with aliens. Aliens! When he was young Jim remembered his dad always talking about Aliens and how they really existed. Though he loved his dad, Jim like everyone else just thought he might’ve been losing his mind after all his years as a sheriff. Now he knew that all this time his father had been right. Aliens really did exist and they were standing right in front of him.
“Sir…I know this may be hard to take in but I promise we’re still just kids. We want to live our lives like everyone else. You need to understand that if anyone else besides us find out about this we could be dead. Our lives are in your hands.” Max said holding tightly to Liz.
“I-I really need a drink.” Jim said rubbing his hands on his face.
“Why don’t you kids go up to bed?” Diane said to them. “We’ll finish talking to Jim and Amy.”
They all nodded before leaving the grown-ups to talk alone.

Faith opened her eyes. Uncle Kyle had said when you went to sleep then woke up it was tomorrow. So it must be tomorrow already. YAY! Sitting up Faith looked to her left and saw her mommy sleeping peacefully. Turning to her other side Faith saw Max making noises again. Sighing Faith sat herself on his belly. She needed him to wake up so she could play with Jamie. Just like before Faith clamped Max’s nose down stopping the air circulation from entering his body. Max jerked awake.
Faith grinned at him. “Hi! It’s tomowow! Les go! I gots ta take a baf befo Jamie comes ta pway wif me.”
Max looked at the clock on his bedside table. Six thirty. He groaned covering his face with his arm.
“Mas? Les go!” she said bouncing on his stomach.
Max peeked at her from under his arm. “Why couldn’t you wake up mommy for this?” he muttered.
“Cause mommy is vewy cwanky when she no gets ta sleep.” Faith said smiling.
“Well Max gets cranky when he doesn’t sleep too.” He mumbled his eyes closing drowsily.
Faith watched the noises start coming from his nose again. Faith attempted to close his nose up again but he just mumbled and swatted her hand away. Sighing Faith climbed off him and onto the floor with her alien in hand. Max rolled over and pulled Liz towards him. Liz buried her face in his neck before settling down again.
Faith toddled out of the bedroom and towards the stairs. Leaning into the wall for balance she carefully made her way downstairs. Hearing people talking Faith headed towards the kitchen. Amy and Diane were busy chatting and cooking to notice Faith in the doorway.
“Mowning Nana. Mowning Dinana.” She said smiling.
Both women stopped what they were doing and turned to greet the little girl.
“Good morning angel,” Amy looked behind her. “Where’s your mommy?”
“She sweeeeeping. Mas sweeping too. I towd him he gots ta wake up cause Jamie comin ta pway wif me today but he no listen.” Faith shrugged.
Diane laughed. “Sweetie, Jamie isn’t coming till this afternoon. It’s still too early.”
Faith looked disappointed.
“Come on honey. Let’s go give you a bath and get you nice and pretty for when Jamie gets here later.” Amy said walking over to Faith and picking her up.
Faith nodded. “Kay.”

Michael woke up with Maria snuggled in his arms. He smiled down at his little spitfire. He never dreamed he’d ever find someone as special as Maria. He watched her eyes flutter open and her green eyes meet his.
“Morning.” He smiled.
Maria grunted burying her face in his chest. Michael grinned. She wasn’t much of a morning person.
“What time is it?” Maria mumbled into his shirt.
“Just after nine thirty.” Michael said glancing at the clock on his wall.
Maria groaned. “I really don’t wanna go downstairs right now.”
“You really don’t want to go downstairs. I’m afraid your dad is waiting for me outside with a shotgun.” Michael shuddered.
Maria smiled. “Don’t worry. I won’t let him shoot you…yet.”
“Hey!”
Maria lifted her head. “Kidding.”
They stared at each other for a while. Michael reached out and stroked her soft cheek. “I love you.”
“Love you too.” Maria said leaning up to give him a kiss.
Michael sighed. “We’ll have to go downstairs eventually.”
Maria lay back down. “Why don’t we wait a while for Kyle, Isabel, Max, and Liz to get up before we go? Hopefully my dad would’ve lost his drive by then.”
Michael didn’t argue. “Okay.”
****
Max and Liz made their way downstairs both anxious to see how Jim and Amy where feeling this morning. If they couldn’t accept them Max wasn’t sure what he’d do. He knew he couldn’t live without Liz and Faith. As if sensing his anxiety Liz squeezed his hand before they entered the kitchen. All the adults where sitting around the kitchen table including Faith. Alien padded towards them wagging his tail excitedly and licking their hands before sitting next to Faith’s chair.
“Hi momma! Hi Mas!” Faith grinned.
“Good morning munchkin.” Liz smiled.
“Hey princess.” Max greeted.
They looked around at the adults not sure what to do.
“Well, aren’t you hungry? Sit down.” Diane said.
Max and Liz took seats accepting the plates Diane handed them. Everyone ate in silence until Liz finally spoke unable to stop herself.
“How’re you feeling today Jim? Amy?” She asked tentatively.
“I’m great honey. Never been better.” Amy answered smiling softly.
“Jim?” Liz asked.
“I’m all right.” He said gruffly.
Liz nodded. They continued to eat when Isabel and Kyle entered the kitchen.
“Good morning.” They said simultaneously.
“Issy! Unca Kal! Guess what?” Faith grinned jumping excitedly in her chair.
“What?” They said sitting down and serving themselves some pancakes.
“It’s tomowow! Jamie comin today!”
“That’s wonderful honey. Jamie is going to love playing with you.” Isabel smiled. “What are you cooking for Thanksgiving today mom?”
Diane and Isabel started talking about what she planned to do. Soon Amy and Liz joined into the conversation. Michael and Maria came downstairs a half hour later. Max couldn’t help but notice the pasty white color his brother seemed to be and he didn’t miss the glances Michael sent Jim.
After breakfast Diane suggested the girls go get ready. Isabel and Maria quickly got up excited about changing into the clothes they had bought a week ago. After a brief hesitation Liz got up too.
“The game is starting in a couple of minutes.” Phillip said getting up. “You guys coming?”
The boys and Jim got up to watch the football game in the living room. They sat in an uncomfortable silence for a while until one of the players on TV made a touchdown. Jim, Max, and Michael jumped up clapping loudly.
“Yes!” Michael, Max and Jim high-fived each other without thought.
Kyle watched amused as all three men stared at each other for a while.
“So…” Jim started. “Alien’s huh?”
Michael and Max looked at each other then back at Jim.
“Well, at least you go for the right team.” Jim said shrugging.
Knowing this was his form of accepting them Kyle smiled. “Too bad they’re gonna lose.”
“Excuse me? You wanna make a little bet on that?” Jim asked turning to his son.
“Sure. Hundred bucks say the Giants lose.” Kyle said smirking.
“I’m in on that.” Phillip said.
Jim turned to Max and Michael. “What do you think boys?”
“We’re in.” Max and Michael grinned.
They sat back down engrossed in the game. Michael stood up after a while.
“Where you going son? The games getting good.” Jim asked.
“I was going to get us some drinks and chips.” Michael answered.
“You have much to learn kid. Sit down I’ll handle it.” Jim said.
Frowning Michael sat down.
“AMY?” He called.
Amy came out of the kitchen. “What honey?”
“Can you get us some drinks and chips babe?” Jim asked.
“Sure.” Amy turned back around.
“See? Didn’t even have to get up.” Jim smiled.
Michael nodded. “Cool.”

Isabel and Maria chatted animatedly while they put on their clothes. Liz went into her bag and pulled out her nicest pair of black slacks and her red turtle neck sweater. She wished she could’ve worn something as nice as them but she tried not to let it get to her.
Maria looked gorgeous in her green dress. It made her eyes look bigger. She had done her make up using bold colors to accentuate her full lips and high cheek bones. Her long blond hair was straight and shining in the light.
Isabel looked beautiful as always in her black leather pants and silk top. Her lips where bright red and her hair was done up in a high pony tail.
Liz didn’t wear any make up and her hair was loosed around her shoulders.
Isabel noticed how Liz didn’t really seem enthusiastic about Thanksgiving and smiled at her.
“Come on Liz. I’ll do your make-up. You’ll look even more beautiful.” Isabel said grabbing her hand and sitting her on her bed.
“I’ll curl up your hair chica. Max won’t know what hit him.” Maria smiled grabbing her curling iron.
Fifteen minutes later Diane and Amy knocked on Isabel’s room door and walked inside.
“You all look beautiful.” Amy smiled. She was especially happy to see Liz dressed up like the girls. It had been so long since she’d seen her dressed up.
“Gorgeous,” Diane agreed then frowned when she saw Liz. “Why don’t you wear the skirt and blouse I bought for you? I meant for you to wear it for Thanksgiving.”
Liz wrung her hands nervously. “I-Well…”
Diane looked around the room wondering why they looked so nervous.
“What’s wrong? Did you not like it?” Diane asked worriedly.
Liz shook her head vigorously. “No! No, it’s not that it’s…I…I don’t-I’m not comfortable wearing stuff like that anymore.”
“Why?” Diane asked curiously.
Liz looked at Amy pleadingly.
“Come on Di. I’ll explain it to you downstairs.” Amy said grabbing Diane’s arm and closing the door behind them.
“You okay?” Maria asked looking at Liz concerned.
Liz nodded then gave her a small smile. “Yeah. I’m fine.”
Maria gave her a brief hug. “Okay.”
“Let’s go downstairs,” Isabel suggested grinning. “Let’s show our men what we’ve got.”
Liz nodded. “Let’s go.”
When the girls got downstairs they headed towards the living room. They could hear Diane and Amy talking in the kitchen. Liz knew Amy was telling her what happened and though she was a little afraid she found that Diane knowing wasn’t so bad. All three girls stood in the doorway of the living room with their eyebrows raised. Max, Michael, and Jim were sitting on one side apparently cheering for one team and Kyle and Phillip were on the other side of the living room cheering for the apposing team. Faith sat in the middle staring at the men curiously.
Isabel cleared her throat loudly to get their attention but they were oblivious. Straightening her shoulders she walked in and stood in front of the TV. Liz and Maria followed. They stopped cheering at once their eyes widening comically.
“Momma! Issy! Auntie Ria! Pweety.” Faith grinned.
“W-” Kyle cleared his throat his eyes never leaving Isabel. “Wow. You look beautiful.”
“Yeah…gorgeous.” Michael agreed his eyes glued on Maria.
Liz looked at Max noticing the way his eyes raked her body before stopping at her face. He gave her a cute half smile. “Stunning baby.”
Phillip and Jim coughed into their hands. “You all look very beautiful,” Phillip started.
“Yes, you do,” Jim continued. “But could you ladies stand away from the television?”
Shaking their heads Isabel, Maria, and Liz moved out of the way. Max took Liz’s hand and sat her on his lap. Giving her a kiss he started to speak softly to her. . Maria took a seat next to Michael who immediately leaned in to whisper something in her ear that made her turn a deep red. Kyle moved over and patted the seat next to him for Isabel. She complied leaning into him when she sat down.
It was clear to both Jim and Phillip that the boy’s were no longer into the game. Sighing they turned the TV off and started their own conversation. It wasn’t long before the doorbell rang. Alien quickly ran out of the kitchen and towards the door. Diane followed behind the dog smiling when she opened the door. Tammy, George, and little Jamie stood on the other side. Alien sniffed at them wagging his tail excitedly. Jamie hugged her father’s leg looking at the large dog fearfully.
“Back Alien.” Diane said grabbing the dog’s collar and pulling him back.
Tammy and Diane let out loud squeals before hugging each other. She gave George an equally large hug before bending down to Jamie’s level.
“Well, look at you! You’re so big! Can I have a hug?” Diane smiled at her niece.
Jamie nodded giving Diane a big hug.
“Come in! Come in! The turkey’s already in the oven.” Diane grinned.
“We brought Pumpkin pie.” Tammy said walking inside.
“Wonderful. Let me introduce you.” Diane said leading them towards the living room.
Everyone got up when the guests arrived. Diane introduced Jim and Amy to them.
“Aunt Tammy!” Isabel grinned hugging her aunt.
“Oh my look at you! Beautiful as always.” Tammy smiled.
“Thank you.” Isabel blushed.
“How about a hug for your uncle George?” George asked opening his arms.
Isabel laughed hugging her uncle before bending down to hug Jamie. “Hey Jamie. You’ve grown so much!”
Standing up Isabel took Kyle’s hand. “This is Kyle.” She said to her aunt and uncle.
“How handsome.” Tammy said winking at Isabel.
Isabel grinned. “Thank you ma’am.” Kyle said politely.
Tammy turned to the Max and Michael her eyes widening. “Oh my god you guys have gotten so tall! I remember when you guys where this big!” she said lowering her hand to below her waist line.
They smiled hugging their aunt before shaking hands with their uncle.
“This is Liz.” Max said wrapping his arm around Liz.
“Hi.” Liz smiled.
“Well, aren’t you beautiful?” Tammy smiled kindly.
“And this is Maria.” Michael said holding her hand.
“Hello.” Maria smiled.
“Well, with all these gorgeous girls one starts feeling bad about their old age.” Tammy said laughing.
Max bent down pulling Jamie into a hug. “Hi Jamie.”
“Hi.” she said smiling.
Michael also gave her a big bear hug before putting her down.
Liz looked around wondering where Faith was when she spotted a head with curly brown hair behind the couch.
“Munchkin? Don’t you want to say hello?” Liz asked.
Faith peeked from behind the couch then slowly walked over to her mom and held on to her pant leg. She tightened her arm around her green alien.
“And who’s this little one?” Tammy smiled down at Faith.
“This is Faith. My daughter.” Liz said looking the woman straight in the face.
“She’s beautiful. Look’s just like you.” Tammy said waving at Faith.
Liz watched amused as Jamie and Faith stared at each other. Faith had been so excited about having a little friend to play with but now seemed to be too shy to say anything.
“Say hello Jamie.” Tammy said to her daughter.
“Hi.” Jamie said.
“Hi.” Faith said shyly.
“I like your alien.” Jamie said looking at the toy.
“You gots a pweety dwess.” Faith said softly.
“Thanks.” Jamie smiled. “Do you wanna go play?”
Faith bit her lip then nodded. “I gots my dollies upstaiws. Wanna see dem?”
“Uh-huh!” Jamie nodded vigorously.
Faith grinned. “Come on!” she grabbed Jamie’s hand and both little girls ran out to play.

“Cool.”
****

Hey guys! Here's the update I promised. Hope ya'll enjoy it!
Chapter 25
Diane watched Liz laugh at something her son said and felt her heart swell. That girl had to be the strongest most courageous woman she had ever met. Amy had told her what Liz had gone through over the past five years and Diane couldn’t hold back the tears that stung her eyes. How a girl so young could go through so many traumas and still find a reason to laugh and smile was beyond her. She was happy to hear that the reasons why she laughed more was because of Max. Diane knew her son was an angel on earth and seeing the smile he put on Liz’s face made her proud of the man he’d become. She prayed that the more time they spent together the more he could help Liz heal; she knew Max was the man for the job.
Amy had also mentioned Liz’s parents. Diane had to control her anger when she heard all the harsh things her so called parents had told Jim. She couldn’t believe people would actually speak that way about their only daughter. If she ever came across Jeff and Nancy Parker she didn’t know what she’d do. Diane was glad though that both Jim and Amy saw Liz as a daughter and treated her with the love and care she deserved. She vowed that she’d treat Liz with the same love she treated her children. Diane watched Max give Liz a soft kiss on the lips. She had a feeling Liz wasn’t going anywhere any time soon.

Faith and Jamie sat in a corner of the living room playing with Faith’s dollies. Faith was happy that Jamie loved barbies as much as she did. They had been playing for a long time both girls oblivious to those around them. A rumbling sound came from Jamie’s stomach and she giggled loudly. Faith joined her and the girls giggled for a while before finally controlling themselves.
“I’m hungry.” Jamie said patting her belly.
Faith looked down at her stomach. “Me too.”
“Come on. Every time I’m hungry I ask my daddy and he gives me a banana.” Jamie said getting up.
Faith followed her until they were standing next to George.
“Daddy?” Jamie said pulling on his pant leg.
George stopped talking to Jim and Phillip. “What is it honey?”
“I’m hungry.”
George reached over into the fruit bowl on the table and gave her a banana. Jamie smiled and thanked him.
“Go tell your daddy to give you a banana too.” Jamie said. “We can eat them together.”
Faith bit her lip looking around until she finally spotted Max. Running towards him she tugged on his pants like Jamie had done. Max looked down and smiled.
“What is it princess?”
“I hungwy. Can I have a banana?” she asked.
“Of course.” He walked over to the table and plucked a banana from the fruit bowl. “There you go baby.” He said handing her the banana.
“Tank you!” she grinned.
Jamie and Faith walked over to their corner and sat down to eat their bananas.
“Uncle Max is your daddy?” Jamie asked curiously.
Faith didn’t even stop to think before nodding vigorously. “Un-huh! He lub me.”
Jaime nodded. “Yup! Daddies love their daughters.”
After a moment of silence Jamie gasped. “You know what this means?”
Faith nodded. “Yes…what?”
“We’re cousims!” Jamie said wide-eyed.
Faith gasped. “Yay!...what that means?”
“That we’re like bestest friends forever!”
“Yay!” Faith grinned.
“Let’s keep playing.” Jamie suggested putting down her banana peel.
“Kay.” Faith said putting down her half eaten banana and picked up her doll. She looked up at Jamie and grinned. Her very first best friend.

Everyone sat around the dining room table that evening enjoying their Thanksgiving feast. After Phillip had said a prayer they all dug in to all the delicious food Diane and Amy had cooked that morning. Liz looked around the table a small smile playing over her lips. Michael and Maria were bickering about him not eating enough vegetables,
“Damn it Maria I hate peas!” Michael grumbled.
“Michael, then drown it in hot sauce but you’re eating them.” Maria said spooning some onto his plate.
Liz laughed softly then turned to look at Kyle and Isabel. They were happily whispering to each other and Liz grinned even wider when she noticed Kyle kiss her on the cheek and Isabel blush. Diane, Amy, and Tammy were giggling like school girls glancing occasionally at their husbands. Jim, Phillip, and George were too busy discussing football to notice the looks from their wives.
Faith and Jamie were both sharing Phillip’s special chair that moved up and down. Their plastic plates were resting on their laps and they were eating turkey smiling at each other the entire time.
“What are you smiling about baby?” Max murmured putting his arm on her chair.
Liz smiled wider at Max. “I’m happy. For the first time in a very long time I’m happy.”
Max leaned in and gave her a soft kiss on the cheek. “That’s what I like to hear.” He whispered.
“Okay everyone,” Diane said interrupting side conversations. “It’s time to go around the table and say something you’re thankful about this year. Who wants to start?”
Isabel raised her hand. She took a deep breath and smiled. “I’m thankful for finally finding friends that accept me for me.”
Kyle took her hand in his kissing her palm before holding her gaze. “I’m thankful for finally finding love.”
Isabel bit her lip trying hard not to cry.
“Well, Max what are you thankful for?” Diane said dabbing her eyes with a handkerchief.
Max looked from Liz to Faith. “I thank god everyday for bringing me the two most important women in my life.”
Liz smiled leaning in to give him a kiss. “I-um, I’m thankful I finally found family to love me.”
Diane reached over to squeeze Liz’s hand and give her a watery smile. “We do love you honey,” she sat back and looked at Michael. “Your turn Michael.”
Michael sighed. “I’m thankful for all this pumpkin pie and ice cream we’re about to have for dessert.”
Maria slapped him upside the head.
“Ow! What?”
Maria glared at him crossing her arms on her chest.
Michael smirked before pulling her towards him and giving her a long deep kiss. When Maria opened her mouth on a sigh and deepened the kiss coughs and snickering could be heard around the table.
“Um, honey? That’s enough sweetie.” Diane said patting her son on the back.
When they came up for air Maria was dazed; Michael grinned. “You know what? I’m also thankful I finally got you to stop talking for more than five minutes.”
Diane cleared her throat. “Um, what are you thankful for Maria?”
“I-uh…can you get back to me?”
Diane smiled. “Sure. Tammy?”
Once all the grown-ups finished saying what they were thankful for and Maria finally found she was thankful for the clothes and shoe sales there would be tomorrow Diane got up to get the desserts.
“Liz honey? Will you help me?” Diane asked.
Liz nodded getting up and following Diane to the kitchen.
Diane turned to Liz when they were finally alone. “Liz…Amy told me everything,” she started.
Liz knew Amy had but it still felt weird knowing someone else knew about the incident. She nodded not really sure what to say.
“Oh honey.” Diane surprised Liz by wrapping her arms around her and giving her a tight hug. “You’re the strongest woman I’ve ever met.”
Liz pulled back. “I-no I’m really not.” She said shaking her head.
Diane ran her hands through the girl’s hair. “You are. I’m so happy my son found you and brought you and Faith into our lives.”
Liz smiled. “I’m happy too.”
Diane nodded tears welling in her eyes. “You’ll come to visit for Christmas right?”
Liz nodded. “Of course. We’ll all be here.”
“Good.”
“MOM! WE’RE DYING FOR SOME ICE CREAM AND PUMPKIN PIE HERE!” Michael yelled.
“MOMMA! ICE CWEAM!” Faith yelled right after.
Diane and Liz laughed.
“You’re son is a very bad influence on my daughter.”
Diane sighed. “Let’s get them their dessert before they start a riot.”
Liz smiled grabbing the bowls and spoons while Diane got the pie and Ice cream.
They passed around the bowls and served everyone some dessert. Before everyone had even started on their first spoonful of ice cream Michael had started on seconds. After dinner everyone sat in the living room enjoying the ending of the football game. Well, the men mostly enjoyed the game while Diane, Tammy, and Amy told the girls stories of their youth.
At nine o’clock Liz got up walking over to Faith who was busy playing with her dollies and Jamie.
“Time for a bed munchkin.”
Faith pouted. “I no tiwed momma.”
“Its way past your bed time young lady. After a bath it’s to bed with you.” Liz said picking her up.
Jamie got up too running towards her mommy. “Mommy can I stay at Auntie Diane’s tonight?”
Tammy looked down at her daughter. “Oh…I don’t know…”
“It’s all right Tam. She can stay. She can sleep in the room next to Max’s with Faith.” Diane said.
Jamie jumped up and down looking pleadingly at her mommy. “Please?”
“Okay.” Tammy relented.
Jamie jumped up kissing her on the cheek. “Thank you!”
She ran back to Liz and Faith. “Guess what Faith?”
Faith’s big eyes looked down at her curiously. “What?”
“I get to sleepover today.” Jamie grinned.
Faith squealed. “YAY!” she clapped her hands jumping up and down in her mother’s arms.
“I need a bath too Miss Liz.” Jamie said smiling at Liz.
Liz smiled down at the cute little girl and took her hand. “Okay. Come on sweetie.”
She led them upstairs.
Max watched Liz with both girls and smiled to himself. He couldn’t wait to marry and have children with her. He’d replace every bad thing that happened to her in the past if it was the last thing he did.
****
“Where are you taking me Kyle?” Isabel asked.
Kyle had excused them from the living room. As soon as they had gotten upstairs he had covered her eyes with his hands. She was dying to see where he was leading her. They finally stopped Isabel heard him open a door and lead her inside. Dropping his hands Isabel blinked a few times then gasped when she saw her room.
Candles where littered all around giving the room a soft glow and the floor and bed were covered with red rose petals.
“Oh Kyle.” Isabel turned around and gave him a long deep kiss.
Kyle pulled back grabbing her hand and sitting down on the bed with her. He took a deep breath looking into her bright brown eyes. He could do this.
“Izzy…I just…you’re the first girl I’ve ever…you-” Kyle took a deep breath.
Isabel squeezed his hand reassuringly. “What is it?”
“I love you. You’re the first and probably last girl I’ll ever love.” Kyle said looking down at their intertwined fingers.
Isabel bent her head so he was looking into her eyes. “I love you too Kyle.”
Kyle lifted his head startled. “Y-you do?”
Isabel laughed softly. “Of course. I’ve loved you for a while now.”
“Yeah?” Kyle grinned.
Isabel’s smile widened. “Yeah.”
“Well, let’s see…you love me, I love you…we’re alone…let’s make out!” Kyle said lunging on top of her so she lay back on the bed and giving her kisses all over her face.
Isabel laughed wrapping her arms around him and pressing her lips to his.

Angry hazel eyes threw a dart at a picture of a smiling Liz. He’d been going back to the slut’s apartment for days and she still hadn’t returned. The bitch obviously was having too much fun getting fucked by the faggot she was whoring around with to come back to her own fucking apartment. He’d punish her for that too. God, the bitch was going to get it. Pulling the dart out of the picture and taking the photo off the wall he sat back on his couch running his fingers over her face. Unzipping his pants he started to slowly massage his cock to life. She had been sleeping in her bed when he had snuck up to her balcony and taken a couple of snap shots of her.
He imagined going inside and covering her mouth with his hand. She’d wake up her eyes open wide in fright. He’d tie her hands and gag her before he pulled out his knife to cut off her clothes. He’d see the scars he left on her from before and feel his cock harden in his pants. He’d make new marks on her body feeling his desire surge with her blood and tears. Then he’d pull out his hard cock and fuck her roughly before slitting her throat.
With a loud cry he came all over the picture he had in his hand. Panting he smiled down at her face. He couldn’t wait for the slut to return.

Chapter 26

“Oh I’m glad to be home.” Maria groaned plopping down on the couch.
Alien hopped on the couch after her lying in a similar position. After a long tearful goodbye and promises to call to discuss Christmas, they all returned to Roswell. Liz grinned at them before carrying a sleeping Faith into her bedroom. She had cried when she realized she’d be leaving Jamie behind. Liz and Max had promised she’d see her soon but the little girl wasn’t consoled. With a little rocking from Max she had finally cried herself to sleep.
“Well, enjoy your rest while it lasts cause we have to open the Crash tomorrow.” Liz said sitting on the chair across from Maria.
“Argh! Don’t remind me!”
Liz laughed. “Okay.
****
He watched with narrowed eyes as she got ready for bed. The slut was finally back. He had watched them arrive from the alley. The asshole was carrying the retard upstairs while the whore fawned over them. He’d leave her alone tonight…let her feel like her pathetic life was perfect…he’d show her.

“I think we should close up early.” Michael said rubbing his eyes tiredly and sitting back on the backroom couch.
Maria rested her head on his shoulder. “We can’t. I already said we should but Liz thinks its bad for business.”
“You know what else is bad for business?” Liz asked coming into the backroom with an empty tray. “When the only cook we have and the only other waitress here this morning is sitting on the couch instead of working.”
Michael and Maria stared at her.
“Lizzie we have like three costumers, all of which are taken care of.” Maria said.
Liz looked at them for a while before walking over to the couch and sitting next to Maria.
“I miss Max.” Liz sighed.
“Okay! Who’s ready to work?” Maria said getting up.
“I am!” Michael said raising his hand and getting up.
“Aw, come on guys.” Liz said watching them leave, sighing she got up and got back to work.
****
“Kyle….mmm…Kyle have to get back to work.” Isabel said between kisses.
“I’m your boss.” Kyle murmured kissing her neck. “You’re on a break.”
Isabel laughed. “I’ve been on a break for over an hour,” she kissed him soundly on the lips. “You need to get back to work too.”
Kyle nibbled on her lower lip. “Fine, I’m going, but I’ll be back.”
Isabel smiled. “Okay…love you.”
Kyle grinned. “Love you too.”

“I can’t believe we closed early. This can’t happen again, we were gone for a week and now we’re closed. We won’t make any money this way.” Liz said sweeping up the floor.
“Don’t worry chica. What’s one more day?” Maria yelled from the back room.
Liz sighed. It was a little before one o’clock and Maria had convinced her to take another day off. She and Michael decided to go watch an early movie then meet her, Max, Isabel, and Kyle for dinner later on.
“Okay Lizzie,” Maria said coming out of the backroom with Michael behind her. “We’ll catch you later okay?”
Liz nodded. “Max is coming in a little while to have lunch with me and Faith. I’ll tell him about dinner.”
“All right, and I called mom so she can watch Faith tonight.” Maria gave Liz hug. “See ya.”
Michael gave Liz a kiss on the cheek before following Maria out. She continued to sweep feeling an odd tingly sensation in the pit of her stomach like if she was being watched. Liz looked up expecting to see Max at the door but there was no one there. Shrugging she put her broom away and headed towards the back up to her apartment.
She walked into Faith’s room where she had been taking her afternoon nap. Faith was sitting on her rug playing happily with her dollies and her stuffed alien. Alien who had been resting on the floor next to Faith padded over to Liz licked her hand then returned to the spot he was before. Liz shook her head. That dog was getting bigger and bigger everyday. When sitting on his hind legs Alien reached up to a little under her hip.
“Have a nice nap munchkin?” Liz smiled.
Faith nodded slowly not looking up at her mommy. “An-huh.”
Liz picked her up in to her arms and hugged her hard. She knew Faith was still sad about leaving Jamie.
“I know you miss Jamie,” Liz started settling herself on Faith’s bed.
Faith nodded playing with Liz’s soft hair.
“I’ll tell you what. When Max comes over to have lunch we’ll ask him for Tammy’s phone number so you can talk to Jamie.”
Faith grinned. “I gets to talk to Jamie?” she said excitedly.
“Yes.” Liz smiled.
“YAY!” she yelled clapping her hands.
“Okay so why don’t we go-” Liz stopped when she heard a loud thumping noise. Alien’s ears perked up and he quickly made his way outside. Liz waited for Max to come in with Alien padding behind him but after a few minutes he didn’t come. Frowning she put Faith down on the floor when she heard Alien growl before letting out a set of angry barks.
“Stay here munchkin, I’ll be right back.” Liz said.
She walked outside towards Alien’s barks; she didn’t notice her heart was hammering in her chest and her breath was coming out shallow.
“Alien?”
She heard him growl again and she slowly made her way to the living room. The sight before her made her heart stop in her chest and her stomach drop. Her eyes widened in fear as she stared into the eyes of a man she thought she’d never see again. He raised the pistol he held in his hand up so it pointed at her chest.
“Hello slut.” He said smiling deranged.
Liz started to tremble her body consumed with fear. “D-Doug.” She whispered more to herself than him.
“Oh, so you do remember me,” he sneered. “I would’ve thought with all the fucking you’ve been doing you would’ve forgotten. You think I don’t know what you’ve been doing you little bitch? Whoring yourself with that asshole. Don’t you know you’re just a stupid piece of shit that belongs alone?”
Liz felt tears well in her eyes. She shook her head slowly hoping against hope this was just another dream.
“I thought I taught you a lesson last time we met. Men don’t like sluts who go around sleeping with everything that has a penis.” He shook his head at her as if she were an ignorant child. “Tsk tsk tsk, guess I’m going to have to be more forceful this time. Show you what happens to dirty whores like you.”
Liz couldn’t seem to move. She told her feet to run but they seemed to be glued to the floor.
Doug took a step towards her his eyes never leaving her pale face. As soon as he moved Alien let out an angry bark and attacked latching on to Doug’s arm with his sharp teeth. As if the move snapped her out of it Liz started to run back towards Faith’s bedroom praying that Alien held him off long enough for Liz to grab her and escape.
“Faith!” she cried out her heart beating frantically.
Faith came out of her room startled when she saw her mommy’s cheeks wet from tears.
“What’s wong momma?” she asked.
“Come on baby we have to go.” Liz said picking her up and running into the hall..
A loud gunshot followed by a yelp made both Faith and Liz jump in fright. Faith held tightly to her mommy’s neck her little body trembling in fear. The noise was loud like when it rained really hard outside.
Liz turned knowing her only possible chance of escape would be the door in the kitchen that lead to the alley. Before she could make to the door she felt pain sear through her head. She let go of Faith in surprise and dropped her hard on the floor. She heard Faith’s cry and little whimpers.
“You little bitch! What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” Doug hissed in her ear yanking her by the hair harder. He tightened his other hand on her neck stopping the flow of oxygen.
Liz struggled with his hand trying desperately to breath.
“Momma!” Faith cried watching the man hurt her mommy. She tried in vain to push him away from her but he kicked out at her knocking her to the floor.
“Faith…” Liz whispered before feeling darkness consume her.

Max walked towards the Crashdown knowing he was late on meeting Liz for lunch. Mr. Johansen had called him into his office to catch him up on work he missed during his vacation. He had been restlessly listening to him speak not really paying him his full attention. He had missed Liz and Faith all morning. He missed waking up with Liz in his arms and he missed having Faith cover his nose in the mornings. He couldn’t wait to hug and kiss them both.
A block and a half away from the Crashdown he noticed a tall man with a black baseball hat and sunglasses come out the glass doors holding in his arms what looked like to be somebody unconscious. The man stuffed the person in a black sedan before running back inside the restaurant. He started to walk a little faster then broke off into a jog a bad feeling forming in the pit of his stomach.
When he was a little more than a half a block away the man came back out with what seemed to be a struggling Faith.
“NO! NO! MOMMA!” Faith’s little voice rang in his ears.
His heart lodged in his throat and he started to run. “FAITH!”
Faith’s head turned to Max and he saw her eyes and cheeks wet from tears. She reached her arms towards him struggling harder with the man.
“DADDY! HEWP ME!” Faith cried.
Before Max could reach them the man had thrown Faith inside the car and had gotten into the car himself.
“NO!” Max tried as hard as he could to reach them but with a loud squeal of the tires the car was soon speeding down the street. “FAITH!”
He ran after the car for as many blocks as he could before his knees gave out. He fell to the floor the air in his lungs coming out ragged. He tried to get up his arms shaking as he weakly brought himself to his feet. He didn’t even know tears were running down his face until they were blurring his vision. They were gone. Liz and Faith were gone.

Okay guys I have the part I promised. Now I know it's not the best or longest part but I'll try to write better on the next Chapter. Enjoy.
Chapter 27
Max didn’t realize he had walked back to the Crashdown until he noticed the sign for the restaurant. He slowly made his way upstairs to Liz and Maria’s apartment oblivious to the bloody footprints on the steps. The door was wide open and Max finally noticed the blood on the floor. He let out a loud sob wondering if the man had hurt Liz or Faith before taking them. He followed the trails of blood into the living room when he spotted Alien. His normally shiny gold fur was matted and streaked red with blood. He lay still on his side even when Max ran over to him calling his name.
“Alien?” Max kneeled down beside him not caring that his jeans where now soaked in blood.
Max slowly turned the dog’s head to him. An image of Alien growling and attacking a man with light brown hair and hazel eyes came to his head. Max shook his head his eyes drifting to a bullet wound in his stomach.
“No.” Max whispered quickly covering the wound with his hand. He rubbed Alien’s head trying in vain to get the dog to open its eyes. “Come on…come on boy.”
Tears were streaming down his face. “Come on…F-Faith needs you boy.”
With a soft whine the dogs blue eyes opened into slits at Faith’s name. Max’s hand immediately began to glow. In a few minutes the blood had ceased and the hole in Alien’s stomach disappeared.
The dog weakly lifted itself to its feet and softly licked Max’s cheek. Max sat back drawing his knees to his chest and cradled his head in his hands the blood smearing over his forehead and cheeks. Alien rested his head on Max’s knee as if trying to comfort the distraught man.
He failed them. He had sworn he take care and protect them and he failed. They were taken God knows where by some raging lunatic with a gun. The thought of his girls being hurt made his stomach churn and he had to fight the urge to throw up. The phone ringing jerked him out of his thoughts.
He quickly made a grab for it.
“H-hello?”
“Max?” Amy’s voice came through the other line. “Can I speak to Lizzie sweetie? I’m supposed to come over later to baby sit Faith but I was hoping to convince her to let her sleep over.”
Max took a deep shuddering breath. “Amy…Liz and Faith…they’re gone.”
“Oh, well I’ll talk to her when she gets back.” Amy said kindly.
“No! Wait Amy…Liz and Faith…someone-he-I-I was late and too far away to help them he took them. I couldn’t catch him. I’m sorry. I failed them. I-”
“Max. Slow down. Tell me exactly what happened.” Amy said trying to understand the man’s rambling.
Max slowly explained what happened to Amy the entire scenario playing itself in his head.
“Oh my god,” Amy cried once he’d finished. “Okay, stay there Max. I’m calling Jim.”
Max hung up then dialed Michael’s number.
“Liz, I’m at the movies. Why are you calling me?” Michael whispered not even bothering to say hi.
“Michael it’s Max…Faith and Liz…just come over. Call Kyle and Iz, I’m at Liz’s.” Max hung up then settled himself on the floor again praying that both Liz and Faith were alright.

Liz groaned her head feeling like it had gotten run over by a bulldozer. Her eyes fluttered open and she looked around groggily wondering where she was. An image of Doug with a gun in his hand came to mind and she let out a gasp. Where was she? Where was Faith? A small bundle in the corner of what looked to be a warehouse lay motionless. Liz immediately recognized it to be her daughter.
“Faith! Faith!” Liz struggled to get to her noticing for the first time her hands had been tied to a pole.
Liz called her name tears running down her cheek when she didn’t answer. A door from behind her opened and Liz tensed.
“Oh, you’re awake,” Doug said coming around to face her. He held a dish rag and a sharp looking knife in his hands.
“What happened to her?” Liz said not caring how threatening he looked.
Doug didn’t answer right away. He continued to polish his knife for a while before he spoke.
“Who the retard?”
Liz struggled with her binds. “Don’t call her that asshole.”
Liz’s face jerked to the side hard her cheek red and stinging from the slap he had just given her.
“Learn your place slut.” He said angrily.
“What did you do to her?” Liz asked again.
He shrugged. “The retard was crying too much. I shut her up.”
Liz looked over at Faith. “Faith? Baby? I swear if you hurt her I’ll kill you.”
“I knew that asshole was a bad influence on you.” Doug said shaking his head. “Don’t worry whore I’ll teach you a lesson you’ll never forget.”
With a loud laugh he left slamming the door behind him. Liz slumped her head letting the tears fall. Her thoughts drifted to Max and her tears fell faster. What was she going to do?
****
Michael and Maria arrived at her apartment fifteen minutes after Max’s call. Michael had explained to Maria what Max had said and they immediately left the movie. After speaking briefly to Kyle and Isabel they drove straight to the Crashdown. Finding the door open they walked in through the restaurant. Maria glanced down at the footprints on the floor and stopped dead in her tracks.
“Michael, that looks an awful lot like blood.”
Michael glanced down. He swallowed hard and grabbed her hand tightly. “Come on.”
They quickly made their way through the backdoor and up to the apartment. Seeing more bloody footprints on the floor Michael turned to Maria stopping her from going any further inside.
“Stay here. I’ll call you when it’s okay.”
Maria narrowed her eyes. “No. I’m going with you.”
Michael took a deep calming breath. “Maria-”
“Michael, this is my apartment. If anything’s happened in here I deserve to know about it.” Maria said defiantly.
Michael sighed. “Fine.”
Taking her hand Michael led them to the living room. Catching sight of Max on the floor with blood everywhere on his clothes and hands he ran towards him. Alien who had been resting his head on Max’s knee let out an angry bark before recognizing who it was.
“Maxwell.” Michael bent down
Max lifted his head and stared at his brother. The pain in his eyes was so staggering that Michael almost fell back from the force of it.
“Max what happened? Where’s Liz and Faith?” Michael asked though he was positive he didn’t want to know the answer.
“I failed them Michael. I was supposed to protect them and…I failed.” Max said shaking his head. “Someone…he took them. I was too far away and I tried, I ran, but…it was too late. I was too late.”
“Max, the blood. Whose blood is this?” Michael held his breath willing himself to stay calm.
“Alien’s. He was shot I, I healed him.”
Maria bent down next to Michael her cheeks already streaked with tears.
“Doug did this. He took them. It was Doug I know it was. God this is all my fault.” Maria sobbed.
Michael pulled her into his arms rubbing her back soothingly. “This isn’t your fault baby this is nobody’s fault. Who’s Doug?”
“The bastard that raped her.” Max snarled getting up angrily. “Faith’s father.”
“Michael he’ll kill them. You don’t know what he did the first time…God he’s gonna kill them.” Maria said fisting her hands on Michael’s shirt.
They both jumped in fright when the lamp on the table exploded followed by a glass vase in the corner. Max’s hands where clenched so hard his knuckles where white. Electric currents were running up and down his arms though he didn’t seem to notice.
“Max you have to calm down. Nobody’s going to die.” Michael said evenly.
“He’s right Max.” Jim said from the doorway.
They turned to see a solemn Jim come through the door. He took in the blood on Max’s clothes and body and the blood on the floor.
“Oh dad.” Maria cried running over to hug her father. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
“Maria-”
“Dad it was Doug. Doug Shellow. He raped her five years ago and now he took her. I should’ve said something before. I’m so sorry.” Maria said through her tears.
Jim hugged his daughter tightly before letting her go. “It’s alright buttercup. Everything’s going to be alright. We’re going to find Liz and Faith and I’m taking the bastard to jail.”
“Dad?” Kyle said from behind them. “What’s...?”
Kyle’s question drifted off when he saw Max. Isabel stepped in beside him and gasped.
“Oh my God Max.” Isabel quickly ran to her brother checking him for injuries. “Are you okay? Where are you hurt?”
“I’m fine Isabel. It’s not my blood.” Max said his voice monotone.
“What’s going on?” Isabel said turning to her other brother.
Michael quickly explained what he knew to Isabel and Kyle. Isabel like Maria burst into tears, Kyle held her his face void of emotion.
“Max. I need you to tell me exactly what happened. Try not to leave anything out. The more information we have the better.” Jim said gesturing for everyone to take a seat.
Once Max was done Jim had called the station and set out a search for a black Toyota Camry.
“We’ll find them Max.”

Hey guys! Okay here's the next part! Thank you so much for the fb and bumps! I know this part is short so I'll try to make the next part a nice big one. Love ya'll.
Chapter 28
Liz struggled with her binds calling Faith’s name. She had yet to stir from the spot in the corner of the room and Liz was becoming desperate. What had the bastard done to her? She noticed she was in some sort of basement in his house maybe. Looking around desperately for something to break the ropes with she saw to her horror pictures of herself on the far wall. There where hundreds of them in her Crashdown Uniform, asleep in her bed, in the park, walking with Faith and Max from his house, there where even some of her with Faith when she got back from the hospital with her.
He’d been stalking her for the past five years without anyone having a clue. He had to have been inside the restaurant to be able to take some of those pictures and the thought of him being so near without her knowledge made her nauseous. The door opening behind her made her tense. She didn’t know how long they’d been there but her legs were weakening from being standing so long and she could feel her blood running along her hands where the rope was cutting into her wrists.
Doug came from behind her smiling evilly. He lifted a sharp knife to her face trailing the tip from her cheek down to her neck.
”Do you know how long I’ve been waiting to do this? To have you here?” he said softly his eyes wide.
Liz felt tears slide down her face. Images of the last time she was with this man flashing through her mind. She almost didn’t make it last time and she was sure she wouldn’t survive a second time around with him. She just prayed Faith was still alive even if she soon wouldn’t be.
“Years,” Doug continued sliding the knife down her neck to her shirt. “I’ve waited years for you. Dreaming of the moment when I’d get to mark you again. Hear your screams and pleas for me to stop.”
He ripped her shirt straight down the middle revealing the scars and upturned skin he had made last time. Laughing he stared at the marks touching them almost lovingly with his hand. Liz closed her eyes tightly thinking with all her might about Max. How he made her feel. How much she loved him. Anything to keep her mind off the man that now tore off her pants and was sliding the knife over her scars.
“I did a good job didn’t I?” He said grinning looking at her. “OPEN YOUR EYES!”
He slapped her hard across the face. Liz tasted blood in her mouth from where her cheek had connected with her teeth. Trembling she opened her eyes meeting the deranged man’s hazel ones.
“Now we’re going to play a game.” He said turning his back on her. “It’s called Who Wants to Die.”
He looked back at her smiling then walked over to Faith. Liz pulled on her binds crying out when they cut into her wrists even more but never ceasing in her struggles.
“Get away from her!” Liz yelled.
He bent down and picked Faith up by her hand holding her up by her hand like a limp rag doll. He shook her around laughing loudly.
“Hmmm, maybe I shouldn’t have hit her over the head so hard. Is she even breathing?” Doug lifted her up to his face pressing his head to her chest. “I don’t know…” he trailed off thoughtfully.
He walked over to Liz dragging Faith’s limp body behind him. Liz sobbed seeing blood trickling down the side of Faith’s face.
“What do you think?” he asked her lifting Faith up to dangle in front of her face.
She didn’t look to be breathing. Liz shook her hands violently her eyes blurred from tears. Doug held Faith’s face up looking from Faith to Liz.
“I’m gonna miss you mommy.” He said in a sick imitation of a little girl while he moved her face around. “Maybe if you weren’t such a slut this wouldn’t have happened.” He continued in the same voice.
Sighing Doug dropped her on the floor behind him. She lay sprawled out her little face pale. Unable to hold herself up anymore Liz’s feet gave out on her.
“Now on with the game. I’m going to make pretty new marks on you and I’m going to ask you if you want to die. Every time you give the wrong answer I get to mark you some more. If you answer the question correctly then you win the grand prize. Death! How does that sound?” Doug said gleefully.
Liz didn’t answer. She just kneeled on the dirty floor her eyes on her little daughter. She didn’t see the hard kick coming until it connected with her jaw. Her had snapped back hitting the hard pole behind her and she saw no more.

“Max, you need to calm down. Jim sent every single deputy in Roswell to look for them. They’ll find them. It’ll be alright.” Isabel said trying to sooth her brother. He had already inadvertently blown up three more lamps, two light bulbs and Maria’s crystal table.
Max paid her no mind and continued to clench his hands while he paced the floor in Liz and Maria’s apartment. It had already been two days and he had yet to sleep let alone calm down. Jim had pleaded with him to stay in the apartment. He was too emotional to have any sort of control on his powers and Jim didn’t want people asking questions about the electric currents flowing up and down his arms. They’ve yet to stop and it would be highly suspicious if anyone caught sight of him. He’d tried calming down a bit but he couldn’t stop the energy flowing inside him. He needed to blast something soon or he’d blow up.
Isabel watched her brother sadly. He looked like a caged animal needing to be set free. These past couple of days have been the longest in her life. She had already wiped up the blood on the floor, cleaned up the broken glass, washed the dishes, given Alien a bath, and washed every single window in the apartment. After she’d been done with that she’d gone downstairs to The Crash and cleaned up in there. She needed to keep herself busy or she’d go crazy.
Kyle and Maria had gone to Amy’s house to keep the hysterical woman company. Amy had been on the verge of a nervous breakdown for the past two days. Jim hadn’t left the Sheriff’s department since the day of the kidnapping and Isabel had a feeling he hasn’t been sleeping either. Now Michael, Michael had her even more scared than Max. A soon as Maria had gone he had taken his motorcycle helmet and left. She’d been calling him every hour but it went straight to voicemail. Knowing him he’d probably gone to Vegas to relive some stress.
“Max, please. You need some rest. At least eat something.” Isabel urged him.
“Isabel! I’m not hungry. Just go do whatever you’ve been doing and leave me alone!” Max snapped pacing again.
Isabel knew he was scared and lashing out but it didn’t stop the flare of anger from rising in her.
“Well, I’m sorry for worrying about you Max but you passing out from lack of sleep and hunger isn’t going to help Liz or Faith at all!” Isabel snapped back.
Sighing Max sagged down onto the couch. “I’m sorry Iz. I just…”
Isabel took a seat next to Max hugging him tightly. “I know. I know.”
Dido’s Hear with Me started playing and Isabel quickly reached for her cell phone on the chair in front of them.
“It’s Michael.” She told Max before answering. “Michael where are you?” Isabel asked.
“Put Max on the phone Isabel.” Michael said not bothering to answer.
Grumbling Isabel handed the phone to Max.
“What is it Michael?” Max asked tiredly.
“I know where Liz and Faith are.”

At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. It's like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And it's not so important happy ever after, just that it's happy right now. Okay guys. FINALLY! As I promised here is the next chapter...now some of you might be upset that I'm still yet to write the Doug/Max smackdown but it's coming. Trust me it's coming. Love ya'll!
Chapter 29
Max got up from the couch so fast he knocked Isabel to the floor.
“What? Where?”
“Just outside of Albuquerque in some run down shack; there was a black Camry parked outside of it. I’m on my way back so be outside in five.” Michael said hanging up.
Max dropped the phone on the couch and quickly headed for the door. His heart was hammering hard in his chest and the blood seemed to be rushing in his ears.
“Max?” Isabel stood up walking behind him. “What happened? Where’s Michael?”
“He’s on his way. He knows where Liz and Faith are.” Max said hurriedly opening the door.
“What! How did he find them?”
“I don’t know but I’m going with him.” Max answered.
“Wait, Max what do I do?” Isabel said grabbing onto Alien’s collar who as soon as Max opened the door wanted to go with him.
“Call Jim. Tell him we’re outside of Albuquerque.”
“Albuquerque?”
“Yeah. There’s a Toyota parked outside a run down house.” Max recited what Michael said quickly.
“Okay.” Isabel nodded.
Max ran down the stairs and went out through the back door. Michael was already there a helmet in his hand for Max.
Max quickly put it on without a word and Michael sped off down the street.
****
As soon as Max left Isabel called Amy’s house to tell them the news. Isabel had barely finished letting them know before they told her they’d be at the Crash in ten minutes. She then tried to reach Jim but he hadn’t picked up his phone. He was probably driving around town with the rest of the deputies like he’d been doing for the past three days. When her cell phone rang again Isabel quickly picked it up without paying attention to the screen.
“Hello?”
“Hi honey,” Diane greeted cheerily. “I called the apartment but you kids weren’t home.”
Isabel closed her eyes tightly. With all the commotion she had forgotten to tell her parent’s abut Liz and Faith’s disappearance. They’d be devastated.
“Mom, I’m…we’ve been at Liz and Maria’s house…”
“Oh! Liz and Maria’s? That’s wonderful! I wanted to talk to them about Christmas. Now I told Liz we’d have Christmas here but I was thinking…how about we do Christmas there instead?”
Isabel sighed wondering how she could possibly tell her mom about the kidnapping. “Mom…”
“I also invited your aunt and uncle and Jamie. I know how much she and Faith miss each other so I thought it’d be a little surprise for her…”
“Mom…”
“Now when do you think we should arrive? I was thinking two weeks before Christmas so we’d have time for shopping. I’m going to shop here of course but it doesn’t hurt to get some last minute presents in. I saw the cutest little dress for Faith at the mall yesterday and I knew I had to buy it.”
“MOM!” Isabel finally yelled frustrated.
“Isabel! What is the-”
“Faith and Liz are gone mom.” Isabel said interrupting her mother. “They’ve been gone for days.”
“Gone? What do you mean gone?”
Isabel explained what they’d been going through tears once again welling in her eyes.
“Oh my God.” Isabel heard her mom’s voice waver slightly. “A-and your brother’s are going to that-that madman’s house! They could be killed! Oh poor Liz and Faith.”
“It’ll be fine mom. Everything’s going to be fine. Max and Michael will bring them back and everything will be back to normal.” Isabel said reassuring herself as much as her mother.
“What if…what if they’re too late?” Diane asked fearfully.
“Don’t say that. They’ll be okay.”
Kyle, Maria, and Amy walked inside the apartment all looking anxious. Isabel held up her hand before they could ask any questions.
“Mom, I’ll call you back when Max and Michael return okay?” She knew they’d be okay. They had to be okay. She didn’t know were she’d be without them.
“Okay…”
Isabel hung up and turned to her friends.
“Michael found them?” Amy asked as soon as she saw Isabel off the phone.
“That’s what Max said. They went after them.” Isabel said sitting on the couch tiredly.
Kyle sat next to Isabel wrapping his arms around her. “Did you call my dad?”
“I tried but he isn’t picking up his phone. They need help. Who knows what Max and Michael are up against?”
Maria picked up her phone and started dialing. “Well, we’re gonna call him until he does pick up.”
****
“Michael are you sure you know where they are?” Max yelled over the wind blowing around them.
Michael nodded driving faster than he’d ever done before. It had taken him two days but he’d finally found them. He couldn’t stand just waiting around for the police to figure out where Faith and Liz were being kept. After he’d taken Maria and Kyle to Amy’s house he’d been driving around hoping to find the car Max had described. After searching all of Roswell he’d started driving farther out finally reaching a rundown house on the outskirts of Albuquerque.
As soon as he saw it he knew they were in there. He had gotten a strange feeling from the house and just knew. After careful exploring he’d seen the Toyota parked about fifty yards away. He had been dying to just run inside and kill the asshole that had taken his little short stuff and his brother’s girlfriend but he knew it wasn’t smart to just barge into a psycho’s house like that without backup. He had broken just about every speed limit to get back to Max and he was breaking them again to reach Faith and Liz.
Fifteen minutes later Michael slowed down before coming to a stop in front of the house. Max quickly pulled off his helmet and started towards the house before Michael had even swung his leg over the side of his bike.
“Wait. Maxwell,” Irritated Max turned around. “We can’t just stroll into this guy’s house. We have to be careful. Who knows what other weapons he has in there? We won’t be any help to anyone if we die. ”
“I’m not the one who’s gonna die.” Max snarled then started towards the house.
Sighing Michael caught up to him grabbing his arm. “Let’s at least try not to alert the guy were here until it’s necessary; element of surprise and all that.”
Max nodded slowing down his steps so he wasn’t making too much noise. They crept to the side of the house and Max waved his hand over the kitchen door unlocking it quietly. They closed the door behind them not wanting to alert the guy of intruders if he happened to go into the kitchen while they were searching.
“Fuck that’s ripe!” Michael whispered holding his hand over his nose.
There was a pile of dirty dishes overflowing the sink and there looked to be mold growing from some stale pizza on the table. The floor was littered with garbage and old Chinese food boxes. The guy obviously was too busy to bother with cleaning anything.
“Forget the mess. We have to find Liz and Faith.” Max said stepping over the garbage and making his way out of the kitchen.
They walked around the house ignoring the mice and roaches they’d see scramble pass the garbage on a hideous brown rug in the living room. Max was getting more and more frustrated for every minute they spent searching without results.
“I don’t think the guys here.” Michael said once they’d searched the house and were back in the kitchen.
“I don’t think anyone’s here Michael.” Max snapped angrily. “You said you knew where they were! There is nobody here!”
“Maxwell I know they’re here.” Michael said patiently. He noticed the electricity running from Max’s arms and he didn’t want him to blow anything up. “We just-we’re not looking hard enough.”
Max took in a deep breath trying to calm himself. This was getting them nowhere. If he didn’t find his girls soon he knew he’d have a breakdown.
“Come on…let’s keep looking.” Michael said starting to walk back to the door.
Max followed though he knew they’d searched everything already. They looked around again this time stopping in the living room. When another rat ran passed them Michael shuddered.
“God, and I thought I was a pig.” He kicked at a bag with a half eaten sandwich in it.
Five huge roaches scampered out and made their way towards the rug slithering under it. Max frowned.
“Michael?”
“Yeah?” Michael said kicking at another bag.
“What seems out of place here?” Max said slowly walking towards the middle of the room.
Michael looked around carefully then his face lit up when they landed by Max’s feet. “The rug!”
It was the only thing in the room that wasn’t covered in garbage. Michael quickly made his way over to Max as he moved the rug revealing a hidden door on the floor. Max’s heart started to hammer in his chest as he lifted the iron ring and opened up the floor leading to wooden steps.
They headed down the stairs the smell of sweat and blood making them stagger back. Max moved faster though he could hardly see through the darkness. When he reached the bottom step Michael cupped his hands together creating a ball of energy that lit up the wall around them until he found a light switch.
“Oh god.” Michael heard Max say hoarsely before the unmistakable sound of retching filled the room.
Michael closed his eyes tightly not wanting to turn around and survey the scene that made the strongest person he knew fall to his knees and throw up all over the floor. Taking a deep breath he slowly turned around and swallowed down hard the contents of his stomach. The only thing keeping him from spilling his guts was the fact that he needed to be strong for Max.
In the middle of the room lay a naked unconscious form in a pool of blood and urine. Her brown hair was matted and covering her pale face. Her hands were bound over her head and she didn’t look to be breathing. In the far corner lay a much smaller form and though she was fully clothed she was as white as paper and also didn’t seem to be breathing.
Max slowly got to shaky feet and made his way over to his Liz. Kneeling next to her he gently removed the ropes that were cutting into her wrists and lifted her body towards him. Tears ran down his face as he felt how cold she was. Trying his best to cover her body with his he rocked her softly wishing she’d open her beautiful brown eyes.
Michael took off his t-shirt and handed it to Max before walking over to Faith. He picked the small girl up cradling her in his arms. He stared at her for a while images of her little laugh and her wide eyes fleeting through his mind. He held back his own set of tears and walked over to Max who had put his shirt on Liz and was now just speaking softly to her running his hand through her hair.
“Come on Max.”
Max didn’t seem to be listening. He just continued to rock Liz in his arms his lips moving though Michael couldn’t hear the words.
“Max we have to go before that guy comes back. They need a hospital.” Michael said a little louder.
Max seemed to snap out of it and nodded standing up with Liz in his arms. They made their way back up the stairs and outside towards Michael’s bike. Michael didn’t hesitate in waving his hand over it and changing it into a small car. Opening the door he carefully laid Faith inside before making room so Max could set Liz in.
Michael got into the driver's seat starting the engine quickly. He didn’t notice Max wasn’t getting into the car until he started to reverse and saw Max walking back towards the shack.
“Maxwell, what the hell are you doing?!” Michael said loudly.
“Take them to the hospital. I have business to take care of.” Max said over his shoulder.
Michael felt uneasy by the cold detached voice Max used to answer him. When he didn’t start to drive off right away Max turned fully around.
“Take them to the fucking hospital Michael!” Max yelled.
Michael quickly reversed and sped off down the road. He had never seen his brother so angry before. Hell, this might’ve been the first time he’d ever heard him curse. Max’s eyes were black with anger and Michael almost felt a twinge of sympathy for the bastard that hurt his friends. Almost.
