Here is the next part, just a little warning. I can't see Tess going down without a fight, nor do I picture Max in this fic as the most intelligent being.
Just remember, no matter what, Max may not be the smartest person, but I believe I've captured who the real brains in the relationship is and that person will save the day. So have a little faith prior to throwing flames.
Thanks!

Part 47

Max and Liz held each other in silence, both with their own personal fears of what was to come as they awaited the return of their loved ones. Liz already accepting her fate, Max trying desperately to find an alternative solution to their problem. As if timed perfectly Michael, Maria and Isabelle all returned together. The young couple looked into their friends eyes to see if any of them were able to come up with a solution that didn't include risking any of their lives. It was Max that took on the leadership role once again. "What we decide today effects all of us. This isn't just my decision to make." He turned his honey eyes on Maria. "What's your opinion?"

Maria held Max's eyes, surprised evident that he would ask her opinion first. Then she glanced at her life long friend and Liz knew what her decision was. It was the only solution, she knew it and now she knew that her best friend understood it also. She looked over at Michael, then Isabelle and saw the same regret in both their eyes. There wasn't any solution that didn't have some risk, but what it came down to was the fact that she trusted her life in Max's hands. It was as simple as that. So before Maria could answer Max's question and say what she already knew she was going to say, Liz stepped forward and placed a reassuring hand upon Max's arm. "Max." She whispered to get his attention.

Turning back to face Liz, he already knew what she was going to say. Already shaking his head in denial. Unwilling to accept putting Liz's life at risk was the only way. "Max, listen to me. You already transferred the encoding to me and nothing bad happened. I trust you Max, I know you. You won't let anything happen to me. Max, it's the only way." Liz spoke softly, but her determination was evident in her voice.

Isabelle could see the turmoil her brother was in, she had already accepted that Liz was correct. There was no other solution that would be acceptable, yet if anything did go wrong. She also knew her brother would never be able to forgive himself. Hurting Liz went against everything in his nature. Yet at the same time she had just as much faith in her brother as Liz did and seeing how much Liz did trust her brother made Isabelle once again amazed at the depth of their love. Wanting to show her brother that she too had faith in him, she also spoke up. "She's right Max, you can do it."

Max turned his head toward his sister and could see she understood his reasons behind not wanting to take the risk, but still had enough faith in him to assure him everything would be okay. He looked over to Michael who surprisingly was shaking his head. "Michael?" He knew why Liz would be willing to accept the risk and could understand Maria taking Liz's side. He could even understand why his sister would be accepting the risk as she had always been the one to stand beside him and offer her support. But, Michael's emotions didn't override his logical side and he needed to hear his opinion.

"I don't know Maxwell. It's not that I have any doubts that you could do the transfer successfully. It's what happens after that." He looked directly at Liz as he continued. "I don't think you really understand what your getting herself into. You won't just gain Tess's powers, you'll have to use them. Max, Isabelle, Tess and me were put here for a reason. There are enemies out there that we will have to face someday. Are you ready to go into a battle?" He looked back to Max. "Can you honestly say you could have Liz fighting in a war, with her life at risk and be able to concentrate fully on the battle. Or would your mind be too preoccupied with concern for Liz's safety?"

It was Maria that stepped in before Max could reply. "Michael, can you honestly state that you would feel more prepared to go into a battle against your enemies with Tess then with Liz. Or better yet, do you honestly think Max wouldn't be thinking about Liz's safety even if she wasn't there in the middle of the battle. No matter how you look at it, Liz is bonded to Max. If your enemies do any research at all on you guys at all they are going to figure that out. Liz is endanger no matter which way you look at it. Transferring Tess's powers to Liz will only help her to protect herself if or when the time comes that she needs that kind of protection. It's not like Max or you or Isabelle can be around her 24/7 for the rest of her life. Not to mention..."

Max stepped in-between the two of them, knowing Maria was on a babbling spree and Michael was about to argue back. So he interrupted Maria in mid sentence. "Okay you guys, I think we've got the picture. I appreciate everyone's input, but I think Liz and I need to talk...to Tess." He paused for a moment to listen for the shouting to start, thinking his sister and friends would go ballistic at the idea of him and Liz speaking to Tess privately. But, to his surprise no shouts of denial came. It was clear that they all understood. He reached out his hand to Liz and she took it, clearly showing him she trusted his judgment. Hand and hand the two of them walked back into the pod chamber to face Tess on their terms this time.

Tess was still hung up on the wall, but her confidence was clearly starting to waver. Trying to keep his emotions under control at the sight of Tess once again, Max begun to speak. "Tess, I wish you could have accepted my friendship. I truly believe that we could have been friends, but friendship would never be enough for you and I can't ever forgive and forget what you did. I will not live my life in fear of what you will do next to me or my love ones. The bottom line is I don't trust you Tess and I would never be able to trust you enough to place my life or the lives of my family in your hands when we would need you against our enemies. Because of the lack of faith I have in you, you've left me with no choice. I am going to connect with you and see if I can determine the part of your brain that contains your unique powers. Then I will be transferring your powers to Liz and...."

"NO! You can't do that!" Even beaten, Tess was determined not to give Liz any more then she already had. She had been a fool to allow the transfer of the encoding to Liz, there was no way in hell she was going to allow Liz to have her powers too.

"I can, I will." Max's voice remained calm, but determined all the same. "You can make this easy on herself and help ensure the transfer goes smoothly or you can make this difficult. If you choose to fight me, I will not guarantee your survival." He narrowed his eyes at her to make sure she understood his next words. "Saving you is not my priority." He then turned to Liz. "I need to see if it's possible before I even attempt to try the transfer." Letting her know he would need to connect to Tess prior to even considering the procedure itself. Also, letting her know that she is his priority when it comes to her well being.

Tess watched the way Max spoke with Liz, saw the concern in his eyes for Liz. Everything was always about Liz as far as Max was concerned.
Knowing she only had one way out of this, she waited for Max to turn back to her, then stated. "You know her brain isn't ready for this, you say you love her, yet your ready to kill her just because you have doubts about trusting me. If you really feel that strongly, then I won't stop you. But, when this doesn't work and Liz is dead. Don't blame me and hate me when the encoding comes back to me."

"That's the problem Tess, I already hate you." Max snapped back. He knew that Tess was goading him, speaking out loud his own personal fears to stop him from completing the transfer. He knew a part of him was being selfish and if Tess hadn't crossed that final line in the dream world, he might have been able to forgive her. But, she did cross the line and now there was no way he would ever be able to trust her ever again. He stepped up close and personal to Tess, reaching his hands up, he grasped her head and looked directly into her eyes to form the connection between them.

The connection took little effort to obtain and Max's healing hands went to work to locate that part of Tess's brain that held her special capabilities. Flashes of Tess's life ran through his mind in quick sensations. He could feel her fear and loneliness during her years being brought up by Nasedo. Her excitement the first time she saw his sister, Michael and himself and her hopes of finally belonging. He could feel how much she truly believed his feelings for Liz were only an infatuation and how positive she was he would accept her as his destiny once he met her. Her disappoint at the cave when he pushed her away. Her confusion when she first met Robert and the feelings he had stirred in her. Her humiliation and disgust when they had allowed the encoding to rule over their feelings that first time at the ranch. Her acceptance of his friendship when she had gave up the encoding to Liz. Then the rage of fury that swept through her when Robert had left her.
He could feel the hurt turning to anger and that anger turning to hate, hate for Liz who she blamed for Robert leaving. That same hatred turning darker and darker against Liz until she refused to believe that he would love Liz and not her. Her satisfaction that she had been able to give him pleasure, if only in their dream and knowing in her heart that she was loved. That someone would be able to love her and allow her to love back in return. Through the flashes two over riding emotions played over and over in Max's mind. Her hatred for Liz and what she believed in her heart was her love for him.

Max tried to ignore the on slaught of feelings that were invading his mind from Tess. Not understanding how anyone could possible hate Liz as much as Tess did and truly believe that she loved him. He sought out the area in her brain that he had been looking for and once he knew exactly what he needed from Tess he didn't hesitate to break the connection. Her feelings of hatred toward Liz to overwhelming for him to take one-second longer. He hadn't even realized he was crying until Liz's hand touched his face to wipe away the tears that were falling down his cheeks. He grabbed her hand immediately, not wanting her to feel the lingering feelings of hate inside of him from his connection to Tess for her. "Max?" Liz whispered his name in hopes that she could bring him out of his trance like state, but he only shook his head and held his hand up to indicate he needed a moment.

In order to complete the transfer, Max knew he would have to connect Tess and Liz together. His concern for Liz grew a hundred times more, knowing how she would feel when Tess's feelings for her were made aware in the most intimate way. How was he supposed to allow the love of his life to feel that much hatred toward herself? Or even worst, how would she respond knowing Tess's true feelings for him? Finally he turned to Liz. "I need to speak to Tess alone." He had to make Tess see that it wasn't Liz's fault. He had to try to convince Tess that Liz wasn't the enemy and that what she thought was true love for him wasn't even real
before he could connect the two women together to make the transfer.

Liz was taken back by Max's request. Unsure of his reasoning, but trusting him completely, she nodded her consent and walked out of the cave. As much as she wanted to stand beside Max and support him, this was his battle now and she had faith he would make the right decision.

Max watched Liz climb through the pod chamber door, then placed his hand on the wall and sealed the door closed. He stood at the doorway, his back to Tess trying to figure out the best way to approach her, to make her understand once and for all. Taking a deep breath he turned to face Tess only to see that her face was contorted in pain and tears were running rapidly down her own face. "Tess?" He whispered her name to get her attention, unsure what to make of her tears. Only moments ago he had been connected to her and could only feel so much hatred coming from her, it was hard to believe someone with that much hate inside of them could feel enough to form tears.

"I've been so stupid." She cried out. "I actually thought you could care about me. I was created for you, made to please you and you...you hate me. I actually thought you wanted me, that you were only denying your feelings because of her. But, that's not the truth. The truth is you really do hate me."

Momentarily Max's heart softened toward the blond alien. Hate wasn't in his nature and it didn't come easily to him. He realized that when he had connected to Tess that not only did he see her thoughts and feel her feelings, but she had also seen his, felt his. He automatically moved closer to her, his heart unable to deny the need to comfort an individual who appeared to be in so much pain, even Tess. "Tess, you can't continue to blame yourself or Liz for the way I feel or don't feel." He stated as he continued to move closer to her until he stood directly in front of her. "I'm the one who bonded myself to Liz, I'm the one that fell in love with Liz. We're part human Tess and the human side in us, doesn't listen to reason when it comes to our hearts and what our hearts want. I'm sorry I can't love you the way you want me to, but my heart will always belong to Liz..Always."

Max touched her arm to try to help soothe her pain that she was so obviously in. Tess raised her tear streaked face to his the moment he touched her arm. "I know, I've been such a fool. I blamed Liz all this time, when I should have blamed YOU!" Before Max could process what she had just said, he found himself being thrown to the cave floor hard enough to knock the wind temporarily out of his lungs. In an instant Tess was on top of him and his hands were pinned to the floor of the cave, along with his legs. "You are such a fool Max. Do you honestly believe I would allow you to take my powers away without a fight? Human emotions are so weak, they make you pathetic. A few tears and your already to forgive me. Forgive me for what exactly, giving you pleasure. God knows that pathetic human whore of yours would never be able to give you the kind of pleasure you could get if only you allowed yourself to feel your alien side just once. You hide behind your human emotions. You try to deny who you really are, what you really are. Love, that's a joke Max. Our planet isn't ruled by emotions. Yes, we enjoy the pleasure of unions between two individual's, but love is just a human emotion that doesn't even exist on our planet. You may hate me and you may not trust me, but I am going to show you once and for all what real pleasure is all about. I will conceive your child and return to our home with the heir safely in my womb and then I will have all the power I will ever need."

With one swipe of her hands, both of their clothing disappeared. As in the dream, Tess noticed Max's lack of response to her body being up close and personal to his. But, she knew how to take care of that issue. Without hesitation she placed her finger upon his unwilling penis and sent a jolt of power into him. Stimulating his nerves within his cock causing it to harden and ejaculate instantly. "Oh GOODDDDDD!"
Max screamed out unable to believe what Tess had just done. Never in his life had he ever experienced anything like it and as much as his human side hated it, the alien side within him was taking over. Tess continued to send pleasure bolts of power again and again, wanting to teach him once and for all what he was missing by being with his human whore. She brought him just to the edge over and over only to stop her treatment denying him the ability to cum again.

She watched as Max's eyes began to turn black with alien lust. It was what Nasedo had always told her would happen once they allowed their alien side to come forth. "Do you want me to stop or are you ready to feel the full pleasure of mating with an alien like yourself?" She brought him just to the point of explosion as she asked her question, then waited for his response. Hoping that now that he had some small taste of what awaited him, he would finally make the right choice.

Yes, I agree Tess is one sick twisted individual in this story. I know I promised everyone Tess would get whats coming to her and I do mean to keep my promise. Thanks for the FB, it's very appreciated considering how dark this fic has gotten. Here's the next part. Let me know what you think.

Part 48

The moment Liz stepped out of the pod chamber entrance, Maria was there to offer her the support that her friend obviously needed. Maria knew Liz well enough to know that on the outside Liz may appear to be holding it together, but inside her emotions were at a breaking point.
Maria had no idea how her best friend had held it together for as long as she had. Since the arrival of Tess, Liz's life had been turned inside out. Not even the truth about aliens living among them effected her as much as Tess's entrance into their lives had. Now in a matter of minutes Liz's life was once again going to change and change permanently. Her best friend was about to take on a responsibility that she should never have needed to take on. But, Tess had left them with no other option.

The two girls stood embracing each other, supporting each other in a calming silence that only two best friends for so many years could understand. Of course, it was Michael's impatience that interrupted their peaceful time. "What happened? Where's Maxwell?" He asked not understanding why Liz had left the pod chamber without Max.

"Michael! A little sympathy can go a long way, you know!" Maria quickly stated coming to her friends defense.

Touching Maria's arm to prevent the two of them from starting one of their arguments, Liz quickly answered Michael's question. "He connected to Tess and I think something spooked him." Before Michael could question her again, she continued. "I don't mean spooked like he was scared, more like whatever he had seen from Tess made him very uncomfortable. He didn't tell me what he saw, but I could feel that whatever it was upset him."

"I bet. I sure in the hell wouldn't want to go looking in Tess's head.
She's flipping crazy!" Maria jumped in as soon as Liz finished.

"I agree, especially after what she did to Max." This time it was Isabelle to speak up, her concern for her brother very apparent.

Shaking her head, Liz tried to explain herself a little better. "I don't think what made him feel uneasy had anything to do with that. I think it was something about..."

"You." Michael quickly surmised what Liz was attempting to say.

Liz lowered her eyes, but nodded her head all the same. "I think he was once again trying to protect me from whatever it was that he seen from Tess, so he wanted a moment alone with her to...." Liz's thought
left her mind instantly as a wave of fear so strong rushed into her soul. Her face went completely pale and a feeling of sickness engulfed her that it almost knocked her off her feet.

"LIZ! Oh My God! Liz, are you all right?" Maria asked in a trembling voice, her concern for her friend obvious.

Liz ignored Maria's question, instead she turned to Isabelle. "Open The Door!" She commanded, knowing in her heart that whatever was going on inside the pod chamber, Max needed her and he needed her immediately.

"What?" Isabelle questioned, not really understanding what was happening with Liz.

Quickly dragging a willing Isabelle over to the place on the rock where the silver hand print would appear when an alien hybrid would wave their hand over it, she shouted as she slapped her hand against the rock. "THE DOOR! OPEN THE GOD DAMN DOOR!"

Understanding immediately Isabelle didn't question Liz's motives any further. She waved her hand over the area that revealed the silver hand print. Quickly placing her hand upon it, but when nothing happened she quickly put her other hand on it thinking she must have put the wrong hand on it. Still nothing happened. The pod chamber remained closed to them. Closed with Max and Tess alone on the inside and the rest of them on the outside.

Liz ran over to the rock surface where the door stood and began pounding on it. "MAX! MAAAXXXXXXX!" The jolt of terror she had felt coming from Max was getting stronger. In addition to the fear she could feel coming from his soul, she felt the encoding inside of her mind calling to her. Demanding her to come to him. Since their episode in the Crashdown that first day they had arrived back home, Max had made it a point to not use the encoding or at least use it as little as possible. But, at the moment the encoding inside her mind was screaming at her, insisting on her coming to him. Liz continued to beat on the rock surface until her hands were becoming raw from the rough surface.

Michael had no idea what was going on, but he had learned to trust Liz and right now it was obvious something was wrong with Max and Liz needed to get to him. Michael raised the palm of his hand toward the door. "Liz, step out of the way." He requested, but his request went on deaf's ears as Liz continued to beat her hand against the rock. "Maria, get her out of the way!" He bellowed out as he allowed his own energy to build. Getting himself ready to blow the door to the pod chamber wide open. At this point he was ready to do whatever was needed to make sure his friend was okay. He for one was determined not to allow Tess to harm any one he considered his family and Max Evans of all people belonged in that category.

Maria didn't hesitate she quickly tried to pull her friend away from the entrance, all the while having a hard time succeeding as Liz was refusing to move away from the spot. Giving Isabelle a look that stated help me, Isabelle was quick to move to on the other side of Liz. Between the two girls, they were successful in getting Liz to move away from the entrance long enough for Michael to let go the powerful blast he had been building up to use. The rock surface was blasted within seconds of the release, causing rock debris to explode around them.
Isabelle and Maria had ducked instantly, pulling Liz down with them and as the ground shook from the tremor the powerful blast had caused the three of them found themselves in a heap on the ground and the wind knocked out of them. Michael was the only one left standing and without hesitation moved inside the cave instantly.

What he saw caught him off guard, Max laid pinned to the ground completely naked and Tess no where to be seen. Michael started to move toward his friend, but Max quickly stopped him in his tracks with his command. "CLOSE THE DOOR!" When Max saw the confusion on his second in commands face, he quickly shouted out. "Tess Is Mind Warping You, Close The Door Before She Escapes!" Since Michael was still standing directly in front of the door, he didn't even question where Tess was or what the hell happened, his instincts took over and he followed Max's command instantly. Waving his hand over the area he had just blasted through, sealing himself, Max and somewhere inside with them, Tess. He barely had time to register Maria, Isabelle or Liz screaming at him to let them in as the rock became solid once again.

"Where is she?" He whispered as soon as the door area was secured, while turning back around to take in the cave's interior, seeking a target he knew was there, but couldn't confirm with his eyes where. He took two small steps toward Max, figuring he could free his friend and then the two of them could take on the alien bitch together.

Only to be stopped by Max's plea. "Stop, please..AAAAHHH!"

Michael started to race to his friend once again thinking he was in some kind of pain, only to take a step back when he was close enough to see what was really going on. "Max?" He questioned, trying to figure out if his eyes were deceiving him or not. Because Max's lower stomach, upper legs and groin area was speckled in a glowing iridescent substance. A substance Michael was pretty sure was semen with or without the glowing part added to the factor.

Michael watched his friend turn his head and barely heard him state. "Helll..." Then his head was turned back and his voice cut off, yet his mouth moved. The entire time Max's body was jerking as if trying to ward off an intrusion. It was at that moment Michael realized that was exactly what was happening. A rage built inside of him and without any further hesitation he let go a blast strong enough to send the devil back to hell.

"Aaarrgh!" Tess screamed in pain as she toppled off of Max.

"You Sick Bitch!" Michael shouted, his rage and hatred far from being appeased as of yet. His only thoughts were to kill her as he raised his hand once again to finish her off once and for all. Just as he was about to let go, he glanced back at his friend who still laid upon the ground and knew instantly it wasn't him that needed the redemption, the revenge for an injustice that went beyond words. It was Max's and Max's alone. He roughly picked Tess up by her hair and threw her against the wall with his physical strength, not by the power he wheeled inside his body. Once she was secured once again, then and only then did he turn back to his friend.

The first thing Michael did was wave his hand over the residue reminder that still sparkled Max's lower body. He reached up and placed his hands upon Max's wrists, then ankles and watched as his friend curled into an infantile position. "Can you find me my clothes?" Was the only words that left Max's mouth. Taking a quick look around the floor, he saw Max's clothes just off to the side where he laid. Reaching out, the clothes slid into his hands easily. Placing them next to his friend, then and only then did he sit back with his arms wrapped around his legs. His head hung in the palm of his hands. He knew the final victory was going to go to them, but the battle scars would forever be burned into their memories. Max dressed quickly in silence, then sat next to his friend. The two friends sat in an eerie silence as the past few moments replayed in their minds.

Finally it was Michael that made the first move. "I should get the others." He commented as he started to stand.

Max reached out and grabbed his arm, stopping his movement. "Michael..." His words catching in his throat before he finished. "What happened..here..is just between us for now. I won't be able to keep it from Liz forever, I just..not yet, okay?" Michael's only response was a slight nod of understanding to his friend.

He stepped over to the cave entrance, waved his hand over the rock face making the silver hand print appear. He placed the palm of his hand upon the hand print and wasn't at all shocked to see the mechanism of the lock work, opening the door in it's usual way. All three females rushed into the cave at the same time. Two glanced over toward Tess and seeing her still pinned against the wall let the relief wash over them. But, Liz didn't stop to look at Tess, her mind, heart and soul was on Max and Max alone. She raced over to him, wrapping her arms around him to offer him all the love and support she could give him.
"What happened?" She asked quietly, not sure if she really wanted to know the answer or not, but knowing she could not ask the question. Her hands moving over his face, arms, chest to seek out any pain or discomfort he possibly was feeling.

Taking her hands in his, he cupped her face and kissed her tenderly stopping any further movements. "It's all right now. I'm all right." Max soothingly stated and he was, being in her arms once again made everything right in the world once again.

I can't believe how long it's been since I've been able to post a new part. I am so sorry that it's been so long. I had an extended house guest for the past few months, my brother in law and his children. Taking care of my own four children, working 50 plus hours and trying to keep up with my house was tough enough, but add another 3 kids(that aren't quite as well behave to put it nicely) was virtually impossible. But, it was something we(my hubby and I) felt we had to do. Now they have their own place and my life is back to just my life, so I'm BACCCKKKK! YEAH!!!!

So here is the new part. Hope it was worth the wait. I'll be back next week to make my weekly updates once again. Let me know what you think.

Part 49

Max held Liz for only a few more moments to take comfort in her arms prior to pulling away. He knew she would pick up on his emotions quickly if he stayed in her arms any longer and he didn't want her to know exactly what had taken place just a few minutes before just yet. He wasn't planning on hiding it, he knew he wouldn't be able to hide it from her forever even if he wanted to, but the raw emotions from what took place were too hideous to relive just yet. Besides he knew everyone would react with the same hatred that Michael had and before they could finish the bitch off for good he needed to perform the transfer of powers to Liz.

As soon as he pulled back however, Liz asked. "What happen? What did she do to you?" Knowing full well that Tess had done something.

Max shook his head, unable to speak of the invasion of his body that Tess had put him through just yet. "We'll talk later, right now we have some business that needs taken care of." He looked Liz straight in the eye, pleading with her to understand his need to wait.

Liz could see the conflict in Max's eyes. Knew something had gone down in the cave between Max and Tess, but her trust and faith in Max was unconditional. Just like her love for him was and with that trust she nodded her head, letting Max know she would wait for answers until he was ready to tell her.

Seeing the trust in Liz's eyes made Max realize just how wrong he was being. There was no way he could not tell Liz what Tess had done. As much as he wanted to take the cowards way out, he couldn't and wouldn't do that to Liz. She meant too much to him and deserved to know exactly what she was getting herself into before the three of them connected to do the transfer. Reaching up he gently caressed Liz's cheek. "Let's step outside for a moment." He stated as he reached down and offered her his hand. Liz understood immediately what Max was offering and she didn't hesitate in taking his hand. "We'll be back in a few minutes, then we'll try the transfer." Max stated to his friends and sister.

Michael watched the two of them walk out of the cave and was pounced upon literally by two women that meant the world to him. "What happened? Isabelle asked immediately stepping within Michael's personal space to make sure Michael understood she would get her questions answered.

While at the same time, Maria was upon him too, asking her own questions. "Did that bitch do something to Max? What did she do? It's bad, isn't it?" Her questions flying faster out of her mouth then Michael could comprehend an answer for them. Poking him in his chest, she yelled. "Answer ME!"

Raising his hands up in surrender, he quickly replied. "Okay, okay. Yeah, the bitch did try something on Max, but it didn't happen. Well, not what she wanted to happen, happened. Max just needs a moment to talk with Liz first. He hoped his vague explanation was enough to appease the two women. He didn't want to go into details of what he had walked in on for one and more importantly it wasn't his place to tell anyone what had transpired between Max and Tess in the cave a few minutes before.

Outside the cave, Max released Liz's hand and walked to the ledge. Staring off upon the desert below them and obviously lost in his own thoughts. Liz didn't push him, she knew something had happened, something that had scared Max to the point that he had used the encoding to call out to her. A power he had never taken for granted since they had arrived home, yet a few minutes before had used it as if it was his own life line. Watching him trying to calm himself, fighting an unseen demon within him, she waited patiently. Finally Max let out a heavy sigh and turned to face her once again. "I betrayed you." Was the first words out of his mouth after an eternity of silence.

Liz didn't respond in word, but the look in her eyes asked the obvious question. Seeing her questioning look, Max turned his back to her, unable to face her when he admitted what had taken place in the cave with Tess. "She was right. Tess was right. I didn't know that side of me existed until she made me see it. I didn't want to admit that I could ever feel anything like that, but I was wrong. I'm sorry Liz, I never wanted this to happen. I never imagined it could happen."

Liz felt ill at the words that Max was speaking. Could it be possible that Max had feelings for Tess now? Was that what he was saying? Did he regret that they were bonded and that she now held the alien coding inside of her in lieu of Tess? So many questions filled her mind at his words, but only one word escaped her throat in an agony request. "What?"

Max turned back to her and saw the horrified look upon her face. His first instinct was to rush back to her and give her comfort. But, he didn't deserve her after the way he had allowed himself to betray her.
Tears of anguish swelled in his eyes as he lowered his head in shame for allowing a part of himself to have enjoyed the pleasure that had been thrust upon him, even though it had been against his will of his human side. His alien side had reveled in it and if he was honest to himself, he would have to admit that he would enjoy having that kind of pleasure again. That was the reason his guilt washed throughout his body. "I'm so sorry Liz. I never meant for this to happen."

'I'm so sorry Liz, I'm sorry Liz, I'm sorry, Sorry' His apologizes ran through her mind over and over. How many times had he said he was sorry to her? How many times had he apologized for something he had done with Tess or about something to do with Tess? More times then she cared to admit and that last apology was enough to make Liz see red. She had stood beside him, time after time. Forgiven him for every single time he had betrayed her when he had been with Tess one way or another. Only to be told now that he had did have feelings for the alien bitch in heat after all, but now he was sorry. Sorry for what exactly. Sorry that he had feelings for Tess. Sorry that he had enjoyed whatever it was that Tess and he had done? Sorry that he had given her the encoding instead of Tess? Her angry was building with every new thought or question that entered her mind. She had given this man her heart, her body and her soul. She was pregnant with his child and now he was sorry. Every single cell in her body wanted to explode with anger. Wanted to lash out and cause him pain, the same as he had done to her over and over, again and again. But that wasn't her, she wasn't about to stoop down to their level. The alien abyss had sucked her in and she went willing because of the love she felt for the man before her, but she wasn't about to be lead down that road any longer. She was done. Without a single word uttered, she turned her back and began to walk down the rock formation.

"LIZ!" She heard him shout her name, calling her back, but she was through. It was time for her to except it. Everything had been a sick
joke. Their love, the encoding, their unborn child. None of it was meant to be. He belonged with Tess, he always had and he always will.
It took him a long time to finally admit that it was Tess that he had really wanted, but she wasn't about to stand in the way of his happiness. If he wanted Tess, then he could have her. If Tess was the one that made him happy, she wouldn't stand in his way. She wasn't like Tess, she for one would step aside with pose and grace and allow Max to live the life he really wanted. With more determination that ever, she began to walk faster and faster away from the alien abyss and away from the pain in her heart that she felt with each and every step.
She was about halfway down the sloop of the rock when she was pulled back around only to face the one who had stolen, then broke her heart in two standing there before her once again. "Let Me Go!" She commanded, already trying desperately to pull her arm away from him before he saw the tears in her eyes that were threatening to fell.

She saw the confusion in his own eyes at her request before he even spoke his first word. "I can't. I won't lose you now Liz." He paused for a quiet moment, before whispering. "You mean everything to me." His words were from his heart and were more true then anything he had ever known to be true. He had seen the questioning look, turn to anger, then to acceptance as he had watched her turn away from him and begin walking down the side of the cliff. A vision of this exact same thing happening right after he had found out about his so called destiny played before his eyes. But, in the vision he hadn't run after her, he had let her go and he had almost lost her for good then. This time though there was no way in hell he would allow that to happen. They had been through too much to be together. He replayed what he had said earlier when he had tried to explain what had happened in the cave with Tess. It only took a moment for him to realize what Liz must have taken his words as saying and in that moment he realized what an idiot he had been for the way he had tried to explain what had happened. She hadn't taken more then ten steps away from him, before he shouted her name hoping she would stop. When she didn't, it took less then a half of a second for him to make his decision and he was hot on her trail.

Liz yanked her arm away from his grasp. "I told you before, I won't share you. If you want Tess, then go to her. But, stay the hell away from me." She stated harshly, her voice laced with pain that was easy to hear.

"I don't want Tess, Liz. I never have. Your the only woman I have ever wanted or loved. I know what I said up there wasn't right. I was trying to explain what had happened and obviously did it wrong. Please Liz, give me a chance to explain it right." He begged, knowing he had no right to ask anything else of her, but needed her to trust him now more then ever.

Liz's only response was a slight nod, unable to form any words at his heart felt response. Her heart wanted to trust him, wanted to believe in their love so much that she couldn't walk away until she at least heard what he had to say.

"Tess, she..uh..when I connected with her, I saw her true feelings. What she believes to be true anyway. I wanted to try to convince her she was wrong. That what she believes is the truth isn't and that her feelings of hate were directed at the wrong person." Trying to explain to the person you love the most, that someone else hated them with just as much passion as you felt love for them was very difficult.

"Are you trying to tell me that Tess hates me?" Liz asked, not sure what that had to do with Max's betrayal to her. It wasn't like she didn't already know this anyway. There never had been any kind of friendship between the two of them since they had met. They had been rivals since day one, so this news was nothing new to Liz.

"Y.yes. I'm so sor..."

"Don't! Don't you dare say your sorry. I don't want to hear those words ever again, do you hear me!" She knew if he said he was sorry just once more, that would be it. She wouldn't be held responsible for what she would do. Her knee coming in contact with his lower region, was one thought that kept reappearing in her mind.

"Liz, I'm sor..Uh..I mean, yes." He quickly corrected his first thought that was to apologize for what he felt coming from Tess, before continuing. "Tess's feelings toward you were not kind." He still found it hard for him to say hate and Liz in the same sentence, it just didn't feel right. "I wanted to try to convince her she should hate me, blame me for what she blamed you for. She was crying and saying that she was wrong and that she felt my hate for her. She sounded so sincere, I almost began to feel forgiveness toward her, but she made a fool of me again. God, when am I ever going to learn. I was so stupid, Liz. I actually thought she meant what she was saying." His own guilt was coming out strong at how easily he had once again been manipulated by that bitch.

Seeing how distraught he had become in a matter of seconds, Liz knew there was more to this story then even she could have imagined. With a calm voice, she touched his arm and stated. "Go on. What happened then Max?"

With a straining voice, he reluctantly continued. "There I was on the verge of believing her tears and her words. The next thing I knew, I was on my back, pinned to the ground...naked, with Tess on top of me."
He paused taking in another needed breath before he continued. "She said human emotions were a weakness and that she was going to show me once and for all what I was missing. Before I could even respond, I felt my re..release. I could feel myself changing, the alien inside of me wanting the lust to be fulfilled that she was stimulating within me by using her powers. But, it wasn't her that I wanted to be fulfilled by, it was you."

"The encoding, I felt it. That's why I felt your call to me by the use of the encoding."

"Yes, it was my alien side, calling to my mate. You, Liz. I was calling to you. Tess was right when she said that if I ever let go of my human side, there would be more pleasure then I could ever imagine.
The alien lust I felt in those few moments were enough to make me aware that I want to feel that again, but not with Tess. I've always sheltered or hidden my alien side when we've been together. Always fearful of what you might think of me, if I ever let myself really go and let the alien inside of me to come out. But, now I know what it feels like and as much as I hate to admit. Tess was right, I do want to feel that again. But, not with Tess. Tess might have been the one to force me to see what I can feel, but it would never be her that I would want to feel that way with. I know I betrayed you, I promised you that I would never allow Tess to give me my release ever again and I do apologize that I couldn't control what happened. Please, Liz, you have to believe me. I never meant for that to happen, but I would be lying if I didn't admit that I do want to feel it again. But, the next time I feel that way, I want the true feelings of my alien origin to have what it wanted to come alive completely. You, Liz. I need you, my bonded mate there with me for that to happen."

Liz stood there shocked beyond her wildest imagination. She knew something had happened to Max in the cave with Tess. But, what she had just heard, shocked her completely. So many emotions played over and over in her mind. Grief, anger, guilt. Then she felt Max's hand on her arm once again, only this time she reveled in the feelings that swept over her. Not just his love for her that she was use to feeling, but a lust so defined it almost made her have an orgasm right there were they stood. Her knees gave way as the alien lust was thrust upon her just by his simple touch. Feeling herself being lifted into the arms of her mate, she looked up into the eyes that held her heart and almost gasped at what she saw. No longer were they that rich amber color she loved to stare into, but were now dark, almost completely black. For the first time since she had met Max, he was showing her a side of himself that he had kept hidden deep inside. His alien side was coming out in him and what she saw in his eyes made her insides melt with desire. Because that's what his eyes were saying without words. He wanted her, desired her, needed her and he wanted her right now.
