Chapter 14
Pt2 0f The Black Sheep

“No! I refuse to believe it!” Nancy yelled as she came down the stairs, obviously distraught. Tears were brimming in her eyes. “My baby is not an alien! She is MY baby!” Jeff was at Nancy Parker’s side trying as hard as he could, to console her with no avail. “But, Nancy, you admitted to missing time 2 weeks before you found out you were pregnant.” Nancy’s shoulders shook with her sobs. “I don’t care what I said! Elizabeth is My baby!”
Max’s heart broke at the sight of Liz’s mother’s tears. He knew if Liz were awake to see her mother’s state, she would have been torn. Max carefully approached Nancy Parker. “Mrs. Parker, no one is trying to take Liz from you. I know it must be very hard on you, being taken to another planet, and finding out your daughter is part alien. When, I saw my mother for the first time, many years ago, my whole life was turned upside down. I felt like I didn’t know myself anymore. I was angry that the happy life I was living, was changed. I am truly sorry you feel this way. I know it must be hard. But Liz is still, for all intent and purpose, your daughter. No destiny will ever change that. She loves you, and that will always be.” Nancy wiped a tear away. “Max is right.” She thought to herself. Liz didn’t need her crying over Liz’s past or destiny. She needed her mother to help her get through the pregnancy. Nancy squared her shoulders and nodded in agreement. She gave a weak smile to Max “Thank you for understanding.” Max nodded back.
Michael approached Serena whom, was to wrapped up in Nancy’s emotional scene, to notice his approached. She had come back down not too long after an upset Mrs. Parker. Michael had wondered if it had been Serena whom, done the introduction. Just on the edge of his mind, were memories of his younger sister. It was as if she intentionally “left out” some memories. Like she was hiding something. Michael was getting the impression, that his little sister was, the black sheep of the family. He smiled to himself briefly. As far as he was concerned, it was about time someone other than him, was the “black sheep” of anything. “This little scene here reminded me of something.” Michael stated. Serena jumped at the sound of his voice, but quickly recovered. She flashed him an annoyed look. “Typical Rath.” She thought to herself. “Oh yeah? What’s that?” his face suddenly grew serious. “How come our parents never mentioned a word of you , while Maria and I were there? There was not a single picture of you on the wall nothing. Why is that?” Michael watched Serena grow uncomfortable. Then she gave a resigning sigh. “They are not exactly proud of me as they are of you.” Michael’s brow furrowed. “Why is that?” Serena crossed her arms. “I wasn’t exactly a loyal follower of King Zan. As a matter of fact, I was mad that we had to go to war. You see, I joined the royal army as well. But I didn’t always agree with some of King Zan’s laws, so later I left. Mother and father were not happy that I left. They practically disowned me. I thought that maybe being the one to bring you back home, they would forget that they are angry with me. Guess I was wrong.” Michael felt bad for Serena. She obviously tried very hard to impress them.
“Hey guys?” a voice asked. “Where the hell are we?” all eyes were on the figure that stood in the doorway. There stood Liz looking very pregnant.

Chapter 15
Seducing the Enemy

Liz looked around. Everyone looked unhappy. “Did someone die?” Maria was the first to rush up to Liz. “Thank god you’re okay!” Liz and Maria hugged each other. Max caught Liz’s eye and then she rushed into his arms. “ I missed you so much.” Max whispered as he let his finger trace her jaw line and then caressed a lock of her hair. It was a habit of Max’s ever since Liz started to help save Max’s life. Liz smiled up at Max’s “Another hair thingy?” Max smiled warmly and leaned down and kissed Liz. Flash The baby. Flash A connection formed between Liz and the baby. Flash memories of her past life restored by Serena. Suddenly, Max realized he was connected to more than just Liz’s mind but, to the baby’s as well. It was almost like a collective consciousness. When Max’s broke the kiss, his eyes were wide with amazement. “Amazing isn’t it?” Liz asked, knowing what his look meant. Max nodded numbly.
Maria looked at Max then Liz, then back at Liz again. “What’s amazing?” Max smiled again. “Liz and I we have this connection with the baby, it’s like we are one collective mind.” Maria looked at one then the other again. She was a tad jealous, but then, that was how it always is, with Max and her best friend. Always so connected. “Wow.” Was all she could say.
“That’s how it is for all antarians.” Responded a dark haired antarian woman. Max recognized the woman from upstairs. She had introduced herself as Liz’s antarian mother “Hello, my name is Nakira.” She held out her hand and shook each persons hand one after the other. Her eyes never left Liz’s. Liz knew she knew that name from somewhere before. Flash Liz as a little girl. Liz gasped in recognition. This was her mother! “I…I know you don’t I?” Liz asked. Nakira nodded and looked in Max’s direction. “Who would have thought, you and the King.” Max and Liz smiled at each other and held each other tighter, for a brief moment
Although Liz was enjoying the family reunion, she was more concerned with the change in everyone’s mood. “Max? What’s going on?” Serena walked up to them just as Liz asked the question. “We’re making plans to attack Kivar.” Serena answered. Serena looked at Max and nodded. Maria came up and linked her arm around Liz’s. “Isabel is going to pretend that she’s still in love with Kivar, so Max, Michael and the others can ambush Kivar. Liz frowned “Do you guys really he’ll fall for it?” Michael shrugged. “It’s worth a shot. Besides, it’s all we got right now.” Liz glanced over at Isabel. She was sharing an intimate moment with her husband. Liz felt bad for Isabel. It was not going to be easy for her. “How does Isabel taking this?” Liz asked “Like a trooper. You know Isabel, but I know its hard for her. She and Jesse just got back together.”
Mayelena approached the group. “Working out the little details?” hope flashing in her black almond shaped eyes. Everyone mumbled. Serena spoke up. “Well, the plan is…while Isabel keeps Kivar distracted, everyone else will enter the castle. And take out the troops. Meanwhile Michael…er Rath is going to rally up the troops still loyal to King Zan. To take out any rebel troops that Kivar might dispatch in retaliation. Once Kivar is taken down, Zan will reclaim the throne.” Mayelena was impressed. “Sounds like a plan!” and she walked away. Everyone was staring at Serena. Nakira smiled fondly at her daughter’s once best friend and confidant. Serena always came up with good ideas. Even when Serena and Alora were little children, she had been the same. Always coming up with plans to make a tree house or a fort. She and Alora would play for hours. Nakira was eager to spend some with Liz, but decided to wait til her human mother wasn’t so uptight. Nakira noticed the woman flash her some pretty unfriendly looks.
Max was thinking of Serena’s plan. He didn’t want Liz to go, not in her state. But he also knew how stubborn and loyal Liz would be. She would go even if he ordered her to stay. Max frowned. How would he keep her safe? “Don’t worry about your wife so. She has her own source of power.” Max looked around confused. Where had that voice come from? It sounded as if it came from within his mind. His eyes suddenly saw Nakira’s staring back at his. “You can read minds?” Max asked in his mind. “Yes.” her voice responded back “You mustn’t worry about your wife. She is strong, stronger than you think.”
“So, we are in agreement?” Max asked. Now wanting to focus on the plan at hand. “We head out tomorrow, at dawn?” Everyone mumbled his or her agreements. Max glanced over at his parent’s concerned faces. “Mom, Dad?” Max asked walking over to them. “ I need you to stay here where it’s safe.” Phillip Evans stood “No.” he protested “Absolutely not! I am going to protect my family too Maxwell.” Max was stunned. His adoptive father hadn’t called him that in years. Not since he was a little boy. Is that how he saw him now? A boy, fighting an adult’s battle? “Dad, Kivar killed me in another life When I was King.” Phillip stiffened at the mention of Max’s past life status. “ Kivar is powerful, with powers you don’t stand a chance against.” Max explained, hoping that mentioning he was once king, would eliminate, any childlike vision, Phillip had of him. Judging from Mr. Evan’s reaction, it had. “But Max, I can’t just sit here and do nothing. I need to do something.” Phillip argued.
“Me too! Max.” Jesse voice said coming up from behind Max. Isabel gasped, “Jesse no it’s dangerous! You will be the first person; Kivar will seek out when I betray him. I can’t loose you again!” Tears welled up in Isabel eyes. She knew in her heart that Jesse had already made up his mind. Max was stuck in a hard place. This battle was no place for mere humans. They could be used against the royal four, as leverage if Kivar managed to get his hands on them. “Jesse, you and my father, will be responsible for protecting Liz. You need to keep her hidden. Once Kivar realizes who she is to me, he will try to capture her, to use against me.” Jesse and Phillip nodded in agreement. Max was relieved that agreed with this, but did not show it in his face.
Ava sat next to Kyle on a love seat type chair. “So it’s off to war for these guys huh?” Kyle asked out loud. Ava frowned at him. “You don’t want to go?” she asked Kyle sighed. “It’s not that I don’t want to defend them, but Buddha teaches us that….” Ava placed a finger on Kyle’s lips. “Kyle with all due respect to Buddha, we are not exactly on earth you know. I think this time, you should listen to your heart.” Kyle looked Ava in the eyes “And what about you? What does your heart tell you?” Kyle asked. Ava shifted uncomfortably. Kyle was being direct. Ava looked down at her lap, trying to hide the fact that she was blushing. She couldn’t let Kyle know how she felt right now. Otherwise she could not make her relationship with Max look real. Just as Liz could be used against Max, Kyle could easily be used, the same way against her. “Kyle, I can’t do this with you right now.” Kyle flinched he had opened himself up .He was sure she felt the same way he does. Seeing the hurt in his eyes, Ava quickly explained. “I have a role to play, and it needs to be believable. I cannot be distracted right now.” Kyle frowned “Is that all I am? A distraction?” “No!” Ava replied quickly “Not at all!” Almost on instinct she moved in closer, their lips a mere inch apart. “I mean,” Ava licked her top lip .Her eyes never leaving Kyle’s. Suddenly they realized they were not the only people in the room, and had become a major interest. Ava looked around her face, beet red. “We’ll finish this later.” Kyle whispered in her ear. And then cleared his throat.
Liz had caught the intimate moment, from the corner of her eye and smiled. Both Kyle and Ava needed someone in their life, and they suited each other well. Liz smiled over at Max who also caught the “moment” between Ava and Kyle. Max smirked back at Liz, and as usual that smirked caused Liz’s heart to race a little. Was it any wonder the she and Max were soul mates? Just one smile sent her melting and her hormones racing. Liz chuckled to herself as she caressed her pregnant belly. Racing hormones, wasn’t that what got her in this position to begin with? It filled Liz’s heart with such happiness to be carrying Max’s child. As, if sensing her happiness, the unborn child began to stir within. Liz’s smile broke into a grin. Then there was another set of hands feeling the baby’s movements. They were Max’s hands. Max and Liz were now grinning happily at each other.
“Pregnant huh? When were you going to tell me?” Nancy voice intruded. Liz was startled
“Mom! Uh, believe it or not, I have only been pregnant about three weeks.” Nancy’s eyes went wide with disbelief. “ Three weeks! Good lord!” she exclaimed, “ Does this have something to do with your half alien side?” Jeff asked. Liz gave Max a questioning look and then looked at her very upset mother. “You know?” Jeff and Nancy nodded.

Pt2 Of Seducing the enemy

Isabel was in the washroom standing in front of the mirror. She waves her handover head. “ Too obvious.” She tells herself and cringes at the bright red lipstick. She waves her hand over her again “Ugh! Too sluttish!” again she waves her hand and then stops. Her hair was long and blonde again.
She considered for a moment. “Oh yeah!” she thought to herself, “What man could resist a blonde?” with another quick wave, she adjust the blonde to an antarian blonde. Looking herself over a few times, she grinned “Perfect!” she said with a smile. Jesse knocked on the bathroom door “Isabel it’s me.” Jesse stated. Isabel opened the door and dragged him in. Jesse’s jaw dropped “Wow!” was all he could say. Isabel beamed “ I’ll take that as a compliment.” Jesse nuzzled his face into Isabel’s neck “Pretty impressive for an alien.” And then a thought hit him “Wait, you’re gonna look like that, for this Kivar guy?” Isabel rolled her eyes and shook her head. “Jesse, nothing is going to happen. I am just gonna keep him detained til Michael comes back with the troops.” Jesse frowned “I don’t like it Isabel, what if he doesn’t buy it?” Jesse had a point. What if Kivar didn’t? Isabel was going to have to make the act believable. Hopefully the act would not have to get very far. “ Don’t worry I can take care of myself.” She hoped.
.
“Wait, don’t tell me this is a alien thing.” Nancy said, getting more upset by the moment. Liz sighed. “Mum, this is all new to me as well. Max and I didn’t even think we could get pregnant. You know cuz of the whole alien thing. But that was before I found out I was part alien myself.” Liz saw her mother flinch at her words. “Mum, I still am and always will be your Lizzie. Nothing has changed.” Nancy nodded “I know that. But that other woman being your Antarian mother has been really hard to swallow.” Liz felt guilty for having her parents go through all this. She wished things could have been different, but that meant wishing something different between her and Max. “Let’s not talk about that now, I wanna know all about your adventures!” Jeff said trying to change the subject. Max and Liz sat down and told their adventures starting from leaving Roswell graduation night, to when they returned back.
A very annoyed Maria sat on the edge of a bed in one of the guest’s room. “ I mean it Maria, this is going to be dangerous. I want you staying close to Jesse, Liz and Mr. Evan’s.” Michael ordered. Maria stood up and tapped a foot. “Michael, I am not some child! I can take care of myself.” Michael grabbed her purse from the bed “With what pepper spray? Or maybe you were hoping they would have a allergic reaction to you cypress oil? Your mother’s Jetta isn’t here to bail you out.” Maria flashed him a dirty look. Michael sighed. He was getting nowhere with her. “Maria, I need you to stay with Liz. I love you and I don’t want anything happening to you.” Maria’s anger melted away. She was completely taken aback at Michael’s gentle approach. “Okay.” Maria replied Michael looked around confused. “Okay? You mean you’re going to listen to me?” Michael was stunned. Maria was always insistent on winning their arguments. “What? No silent treatment? No storming off to Max and Liz?” Maria smirked as she climbed into bed with Michael. “Space boy I’m letting you win this one, it’s a rare moment, so do try to relish it as much as you can.” Michael laid back staring up at the ceiling. Maria rested her head against his chest. “Are you scared?” Maria asked. “ I’ve never been this scared in my whole life.” Michael replied matter of factly. “Lets try to get some sleep.” He gave a quick peck on her cheek and then laid back down.
Max and Liz lay in bed together. Both had their hands on Liz’s ever-growing belly. “Oh! Did you feel that?” Liz asked grinning. Max grinned back and nodded. “If she doesn’t want to be queen of Antar someday, she’ll be one heck of a soccer player!” Liz giggled at Max cute remark. But then, suddenly grew serious. “ Max? What happens after you take down Kivar?” Max ran a hand through his hair. “ I don’t know. I reclaim the throne I suppose.” Liz looked at him seriously. “Is that what you really want Max?” Max looked at Liz thought fully for a moment. No it wasn’t what he wanted. He hadn’t faintest clue how to be a king. From what he gathered about his past life, he didn’t then either.
Then an idea hit him. “Why not let the people vote on a king?” Liz thought about it for a moment. “You mean like a democracy?” Max nodded. “Exactly! That way they choose who the think is best, to rule the planet.” Liz smiled “ Allowing us to go back to earth. But, what will your Mayelena think?” Max shrugged “I don’t know, but now would not be a good time, to bring it up. Let’s wait until Kivar has been taken care of. Max got a sudden twinkle in his as his eyes traced Liz’s form from the small of her waist to the curve of her hips. He curled his arm around her waist, and gave her a wicked grin. “ I was thinking.” He says pulling her close to him. Liz beamed up at him “Uh huh Mr. Evans isn’t that what got me in this predicament to begin with?” Max’s lips were only inches away from Liz’s “Good thing you won’t pregnant again.” Liz chuckled and closed the distance between them. “ Let’s hope not.” She says as Max’s kiss travels to her neck. “What don’t you don’t trust me?” Max says pretending to be hurt. Meanwhile one of his hands travels up her inner thigh. Holding back a gasps, she bites her bottom lip. She says nothing, already caught up in pleasure.

(Early the next morning)

Michael lay next to Maria watching her sleep. She seemed so innocent and childlike when she was sleeping. Watching her hang out and talk with his parents did something to him. He was proud to call this special woman, his fiancée. She had no idea, how much had meant him to have her by his side, when he had met them, for the first time. He leaned over and gently kissed her. Maria’s eyes slowly fluttered open. “Hey.” She smiled. “Hey back at ya.” “I have to get going soon.” Maria sat up. “Maria, please promise to stick to the plan.” Michael’s eyes were pleading. “I promise.” She replied softly and she meant it. Michael kissed her one more time and climbed out of bed. When he finished getting dressed headed towards the door, and then stopped at the doorway. He turned back towards Maria. “Michael, be careful.” Michael smiled briefly “I will.” With that, he walked out of the bedroom.
Isabel was already dressed and eating, when Michael walked into the kitchen. He stopped in his tracks “Wow!” Isabel grinned “Thank you.” Michael grabbed a danish looking food and headed towards the door, then spun around. “ Be careful” he said simply “Yeah.” Isabel replied “You too.”
Michael nodded and headed out the door. As Michael left, Jesse entered the kitchen. “Was that Michael who just left?” Isabel nodded “Yes he gathering the last of the armies that are still loyal to Max, I mean King Zan, um… you know what I mean.” Jesse smiled “Yeah, I know what you mean.”
Isabel took Jesse’s hands into hers, when he sat down. “ Jesse? I want you to know that this isn’t easy for me to do. I will always only belong to you. As, long as you are a part of my life, you will always be the one I need.” Jess looked deep into her eyes and nodded. Isabel got up from her seat. “I have to get going now.” Jesse got up and kissed Isabel hard. “You be careful. I will see you tonight.” She hugged him tight and then headed out the door.
It was three hours later, when Isabel found herself at the Kaynar barns behind the castle. After she dismounted she led her Kaynar to the barn. Waving her hand over face she freshened her makeup.

Song:(T-R-O-U-B-L-E) By Travis Tritt

Hoping no one caught her walking around the castle, Isabel squared her shoulders and gave her best No-Nonsense face, and walked up the front entrance. “Here goes nothing.” She says to herself. As she walked up she notice two guards high up on each side of the entrance. “Can we help you?” One yells down to her. Isabel gives a big smile. “Yeah, I am looking for Kivar.” The guard frowns at her. “You mean King Kivar?” Isabel clenched her jaw. “That creep had the nerve to appoint himself king!” she asked herself. She smiled again “Yes.” Isabel watched the guard talk into some kind of communication device. “Sorry.” The guard said after a few minutes “The king is not seeing visitors today.” Isabel clenched her fists “arrogant son-of-a-bitch!” Isabel smiled again sweetly “Could you be a dear and him that princess Vilandra is at his door and would like the pleasure of his company?” Isabel noticed a look of recognition on the guard’s face. A few moments later, the front door was opened. Isabel beamed up at the guards “Thank you!” The guard blushed “My pleasure ma’am.”
As Isabel entered the castle, a male servant greeted her. “ His highness will be with you shortly. In the meantime, it his wish that you wait for him in the library.” Isabel followed the elderly antarian to the library. He was small for an Antarian with gray hair like a human would have. His skin was a pale gray, and loose. His eyes had a pale ring of blue around the black of his eyes. As far as Isabel concern human seemed to age more gracefully than antarian, and was grateful to human side. As she followed the servant, she got the distinct feeling of Da ja vue. She has been her before. She could almost see a child version of herself hiding under the old polished desk. Isabel smiled. It was a game she would play often, with Alora. The servant showed Isabel, into the library. “ Is there anything you need? Food, drink?” Isabel shook her head “No. Thank you I am fine.” “Very well.” He replied and left.
Isabel began to look around. To her amazement her family photos, still remained. She came across what she knew in her heart, was a family photo. Mayelena stood in the middle of the photo, pride obvious on her face. Next to her was a rather stocky antarian, with graying hair. His eyes were gentle and full of love. “Now where is my Vilandra? She heard a man’s voice say in her head. Vilandra giggled as she hid under the desk, from her father, as a child. “Father.” She whispered as she touched the picture. Her tears gathered in her eyes. Next to her father was Max. Isabel smiled. It was true what congressman Whitaker had said. They looked nothing like they did in their other lives.
“Catching up on old times?” a deep melodic voice asked, abruptly interrupting Isabel of her thoughts.

It was the first village Michael came across in two hours. It was a sight for sore eyes. He was beginning to think that; there would be nothing for miles to come. Dismounting his Kaynar, he studied the village. Although it wasn’t really wasn’t a village Michael thought to himself. It was more like a small town. As, Michael approached the town; there was a tall antarian tending to a flock of Kaynars. He wasn’t exactly greeted with the friendliest of faces. “Yes? Can I help you with some thing?” The antarian was looking up and down at Michael .He obviously never seen a human before. Michael pulled out a piece of paper from his pants pocket. “Yeah,” Michael replied glancing down at the piece of paper “I am looking for Lieutenant Kaelineer.” The antarian looked at Michael suspiciously and took a defensive stance. “What do you want with the lieutenant?” Michael considered the antarian for a moment. If he had to he would take the antarian down. “ My name is Michael, I am gathering up the last of the troops loyal to King Zan.” The antarian stood there looking at him suspiciously still not believing him. “He knew me once as Rath.” Michael saw a spark of recognition in the antarian’s eyes.
“You’re Rath?” Michael nodded. Again the antarian looked up and down at Michael. “You know I heard the rumors, but I thought it couldn’t possibly be true. They really did turn you into a human/antarian hybrid didn’t they?” Michael grinned and nodded. He stepped closer to Michael and then poked him. “Does it hurt to be in that body?” Michael rubbed his arm and then shot him a dirty look. “No, but your poking me does!” The antarian blushed. “Oh! I am sorry. Well, I’ll go get the lieutenant.” A few minutes later the antarian returned with the lieutenant.
Michael extended his hand. “I’m Michael a.k.a Rath. Kaelineer smiled. “ I can’t believe the rumor is true!” He shook Michael’s hand happily. Then suddenly a thought hit him. “Does this mean we are going to take down Kivar?” Michael nodded. “That’s the plan.” The Lieutenant was obviously pleased “It’s about time that rebel was removed from the throne! He’s been doing nothing but screwing up this planet and ruining the relationships with the others. It’s time to end the unnecessary bloodshed!” Michael showed the lieutenant the piece of paper. “We need to get these other people and their troops as well.” Kaelineer looked at the list and chuckled. “No need to go hunting them down, we’ve always kept in touch. We’ll just contact them, and meet up.” Michael smiled It was the easiest errand he ever ran.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Isabel just stood there for moment, her blood turning cold. “You kept the pictures.” She said finally after her heart stopped beating so hard. “Why?” Kivar ignored her question. He looked nothing like the human he possessed when she was on her honeymoon. “What do you want Isabel?” Isabel smiled “What do you think I want?” Kivar snarled “Don’t play coy with me!” he snapped. No, he was nothing like the cute human he had possessed, but he was a far cry from being ugly. Isabel had to keep her hormones in check several times; in the few minutes she spent, in Kivar’s presence. It was the ugly side of being part Vilandra.
Isabel sighed to her, he was just another male ogling over her. She always found men like that, unattractive. “Besides, I know you came here with that human husband of yours!” “Damn!” she cursed in her head. This charade of hers was going to have to go a little further than she had planned. “Forgive me Jesse.” She said in her head. “ Ever since I made you leave that day, there has been an emptiness inside me. Either it’s me or Vilandra I don’t know, but it’s there.” She got up and sighed. “Besides, ever since Jesse found out the truth about me, he’s been different; distant. You’re the only one who wanted me, after knowing what I truly am.” Isabel willed some tears, and they collected in her eyes. Kivar’s shoulders slumped ever so slightly. “Hook, line and sinker!” Isabel thought to herself. Kivar put an arm around Isabel’s waist. “Humans are so ignorant! Come, let’s get you something eat.” Kivar looked into her eyes as he spoke, and when he did Isabel felt her hormones stirring again. “Uh, reality check Isabel! You love Jesse remember?” Her conscious screamed. This was going to be the longest night of her life. Kivar in the flesh was worse, than Kivar possessing that cute human. Kivar the actual person had blonde hair. Instead of have black eyes like other antarians, his eyes were aqua-green. His skin was a closer shade to human flesh.

Around ten o’clock everyone climb out of their beds and headed to the kitchen. When everyone finished his or her breakfast, Max, Liz, and Serena went over the plan with everyone else. “Nancy, Jeff, Mom you will be with me and Mayelena.” Max explained “Jesse, Dad and Maria you will be with Liz and Nakira.” Everyone nodded. “Each team heads out at different times, my team will be going first. We are doing it this way for Liz’s safety. Clearing away any dangers before it can reach her. At some point, Michael will meet up with us along with the last of the army troops, which are still loyal to the royal family. Hopefully at that time, Isabel will have kept Kivar distracted long enough for us to ambush him.” “Max when do we head out?” Phillip asked. Max looked around “As soon as everyone has eaten.” Phillip nodded and grabbed a Danish.
Later when Max’s team was ready and at the door a very worried Liz, clung to Max. “Please be careful Max.” She pleaded with him as tears were forming in her eyes. He smiled gently at her and kissed her forehead. The moment his lips touched her skin, a rush of images and emotions flooded his head. All of it boiled down to one thing, Liz was scared. Max brushed away her tears with his thumbs. “Don’t worry, I will.” He said softly, and then he left.
An excited Maria came rushing up behind Liz. “Isn’t this great?” Liz frowned “What’s so great about this?” Maria frowned a Liz “I was talking about you and me hanging out. We haven’t gotten to do that in a long time.” Liz turned away as a tear streamed down her cheek “Oh…sorry Maria” But Maria noticed anyways. Putting her hands on Liz’s shoulders, Maria made Liz face her. “Okay chica, what’s wrong?” Liz wiped the tear away. “Maria, someone is going to die.” Maria’s face went pale “What do you mean someone is going to die?” Liz held back a sob. “I mean, I saw it in a vision Maria. Someone is going to die!” Maria was now panicking. “ Did you see who?” Liz shook her head “No,” she replied starting to pace the floor. “All I saw was us at a funeral. Everyone was so sad Maria!” More tears streamed down Liz’s cheeks as a sob finally shook Liz’s form.

Chapter (16)
One door closes another opens

Liz was getting dressed; her face was blotchy from crying. The sadness from her vision was so strong, that it caused Liz to cry. Maria sat in a chair in Liz’s room watching her, to make sure she was okay. “ So you have no clue who it is?” Maria asked Liz shook her head. A few moments later Jesse, Phillip, Liz, Maria and Nakira headed out the door. After a few minutes of traveling, Maria asked, “Does Max know?” Liz nodded. Maria pulled her Kaynar up closer so she could whisper. “What did he say?” Liz frowned. “He said I shouldn’t tell anyone, till we figure out what it means. Unlike my other visions, this one did not tell me who the victims was.”
Nakira pulled up closer to the girls. “Alora was clairvoyant as well.” She blushed slightly “I am sorry I couldn’t help but over hear.” Liz just smiled timidly. Maria was not about to let this moment past, knowing the questions that burned in her best friend’s heart. “So,” Maria started “ What was Liz…I mean Alora like?” Nakira smiled at the two girls. “Oh, not too different from the way she is now. She has the same spunk and loyal personality till the day she died.” Sadness flickered in Nakia’s eyes. Liz shifted uncomfortably on her Kaynar. “Liz was not made a Hybrid for the same reason as the Royal Four.” Nakira’s words caught Liz’s full attention. “What other reason is there?” Liz asked. Nakira sighed. “Well, the hybrid could have hatched, with all their past antarian memories, but they would end up being the exact people they died as.” Maria frowned “So.” “So, Zan and Vilandra were born with a silver spoon in their mouths. They never had to be responsible for anything. They were spoiled.” She explained. Liz knew exactly what Nakira was getting at. “So, they were brought to earth without any memory of their past lives, in hopes that they would not repeat the same mistakes.” Nakira smiled proudly at Liz “Exactly.” It made sense to Liz, but that didn’t explain why she had no memories. “How come my memories were not left intact?” Liz asked. “Because, your main purpose was to keep Zan’s heart in the right place. You and Zan had a rare friendship that turned into love. It was foreseen by one of the Elders, prophesized if you will. It was also seen, that you and he would liberate Antar and bring about a golden era.” Maria recognized Nakira’s words. “But Courtney said that Antar was already on the brink of an golden era. Many thought that Michael…um Rath should have ruled the throne.” She argued. Nakira sighed again. “Kivar wasn’t the only one who thought Zan wasn’t doing a good job as a leader. Yes, at one point, even Rath would betray Zan. None of that matters now. Zan is back, which mean Kivar’s reign will soon be over.”
“What will happen to Kivar?” Liz asked. Nakira gave a slight shrug. “If Zan doesn’t kill him, he will be banished from Antar and the sister planets.” Liz clenched her jaw; there was only one other place for Kivar to go. That was just not an option. She would prevent Kivar from reaching earth even if she had to kill him herself. “Oh don’t be silly Alora, I am sure it won’t have to boil down to that.” Nakira blurted with a swish of her hand. Maria looked from Nakira to Liz and back to Nakira again.
What did she miss? She hadn’t heard Liz say anything. Noticing Maria’s bewilderment, Nakira explained. “ I can what you call, read minds.”

“What was I like?” Max asked Mayelena. She smiled and got a far away look. “Like your father, full of dreams and inspirations. You were stubborn. Always trying to do too much too soon. You wanted so much to walk in your father’s footsteps, but when he died, your pain blinded you. His death was the final blow. Losing both Alora and your father was just too much.” Max’s eyebrows shot up at the mention, of Liz’s other name. “They died close together?” Mayelena sighed “Within a year of each other.” Max scratched his head and frowned “ Don’t you find that weird?” Mayelena shook her head “Not really they both died of natural causes.” Deciding to drop that topic, Max brought up Ava. “What about my wife? What was she like?” A look of disgust crossed Max’s antarian mother’s face. “She always was a provocative woman. It was clear to everyone that your relationship, started on mere lust. Somehow she managed to get you to fall in love with her. I had discovered her secret only a few weeks after you and the others, were sent to earth in your pods. I had stumbled across some communications logs. That was how I discovered your protector’s betrayal and the plans for Ava.” Max nodded. “I almost came home with Tess, It wasn’t until Liz and Maria and Kyle discovered she had killed our friend Alex, that I decided to stay on earth. Tess lied to me about the baby not being able to survive on earth.” Mayelena’s eyes were filled with sympathy. “Zan I am sorry you had to go through that. Where is your son now?” Max’s eyes watered up a bit at the memory of his son. He was so little when he last saw him. “I gave him up for adoption. He’s human and deserves a normal human life.” Max noticed Mayelena’s face go pale.” What? What’s wrong?” At first she couldn’t get the words out. “Max, baby Zan was not completely human.” Max was stunned. “What? What are you saying?” “Max, I mind warped Kivar and Tess into thinking baby Zan was human. He’s not completely antarian, but he more than you and the other hybrids.” Max struggled with Mayelena’s confession. This changed everything. For now he would not dwell on it. There was nothing he could do while he was on antar. Liz needed him to be there for their child, and he needed to dethrone Kivar.
For now, Zan would remain with his adoptive parents. But later, he would have a talk with his adoptive father. “We’re here.” Mayelena announced, breaking Max from his thoughts.
Max stared up at the castle where he and his family once dwelled. It was enormous and white. The tower peaks were made of chrome colored metal. And the guarding walls a pearl like stone that seemed to shimmer.
Nakira looked up at the sky “We will be there soon.” Maria looked up at the sky and frowned. “How can you tell?” Nakira pointed up at the sky. “See those birds, they only dwell in the area the castle stands. They never travel very far from their nests.” Liz looked up at the birds swirling in the sky. Faster and faster they would swirl. “Odd,” she thought to herself as they began to swirl faster and faster still. Then Liz realized, it wasn’t the birds that swirling, it was her vision, and suddenly all went dark. Then there was a scream. Liz couldn’t tell where it came from. She suddenly found herself in the middle of a battlefield. Power and weapons alike were being used. Then there was a loud “BOOM!” and for at least 3 yards in a complete circle lay dead bodies allies and enemies alike. In the center of this circle was a figure floating a few feet from the ground, a white blue aura floating around it.
Liz gasped and sat up. Nakira and Maria had help Liz sit up. Jesse and Phillip look on with fear in their eyes. “How did I get here?” Liz asked looking around confused. Maria waved some smelling salts in front Liz “Ugh! Maria! I’m not unconscious anymore!” Liz objected. “What did you see?” Nakira asked, any gentleness gone from her voice. Liz was afraid, the vision felt so real, as if it truly happened. “I heard a scream, a sad scream. Then I was in the middle of a battlefield, and everyone was at war. Then a loud noise, there were dead bodies all around and in the center, there was a person floating a few feet in the air. The person had a blue energy floating around it.” Maria looked at Nakira for answer. “Does it mean anything? I mean, isn’t Liz part Alien like Max and Izzy?” Phillip asked.
“ Indeed it does,” Nakira replied with a grim expression. “ Someone’s death, will bring about a blood bath, and a powerful being will bring an end to it. The blue aura has not been seen on an antarian for many, many years. Not even any of the Elders possess such power.” “Well, someone does now.” Maria stated. “Is that a bad thing? Has this been foreseen?” Nakira was concerned. It was not foreseen. Not even in the Ancient prophecies. How could such a powerful being not be foreseen? Nakira gave Liz and the others a faraway look. “No, it was not foreseen.” Maria looked back at Liz “So how come Liz can foresee it?”

“You haven’t eaten much of your food.” Kivar stated. Isabel’s mind was not on her food. “Huh? Oh! I’m sorry. I guess I don’t have much of an appetite.” Kivar tsked “ It’s because of all that human food you’re used to eating.” Then Kivar cringed “I can’t believe they eat their animals!” Isabel smirked at him, and then looked down at her plate curiously. “What is this?” she asked. Kivar smiled proudly, it’s a family recipe. It’s good, try it.” Isabel took a bite. It was incredibly bitter, but she managed to swallow it down. Kivar noticed Isabel’s look of dislike, “ I take it your palate must be human too.”
Isabel sighed, “ Yeah, I guess so.” Suddenly Kivar’s expression lightened up. He waved for a servant to approach him closer. When the servant did so, Kivar whispered in his ear. The servant nodded and left the dining room, then came back with a bowl of earth fruit, and bread. Isabel grabbed one of the fruits and looked at Kivar curiously. “A banana? How’d you get this?” Kivar cocked and eyebrow. “Who do you think gave earth the seeds, for these kinds of fruit?” Isabel gave him a snort, peeled the fruit and ate it down quickly. Isabel suddenly felt tired, very tired. She looked at Kivar confused. “What have you done?” Kivar smiled wickedly “What ever do you mean?” Isabel’s head became fuzzy. “Kivar?” Isabel could say no more, as she slumped in her chair sound asleep. Kivar turned to his servant. “How long will she be out?” the servant pulled out from behind his back “For a few hours sir.”

Here's Part 2 of One door closes another opens

“Good, that will keep her from snooping around.” Kivar got up from his chair and scooped Isabel up in his arms. “Did you prepare a room for her?” he asked the servant. “Yes sir.” After placing her in the fluffy bed of one of the guest rooms, Kivar ordered, that a woman servant kept her company, while she slept. “That ought to keep her out of trouble for a while.”

“There it is!” Exclaimed Lieutenant Kaelineer. “The royal Castle.” Michael stared up at the castle. He remembered this place. This was where he was, right before died, all those years ago. “And there is his majesty.” Max greeted Michael with a smile. “Glad you made it back in one piece!” Max’s relief was very obvious in his eyes. “What’s she doing here?” The Lieutenant snarled. Ava stepped a bit closer to Max. He took a protective stance. “Easy Lieutenant, she’s one of the good guys.” “But your majesty! She’s the one who had you killed!” Ava glanced at Max nervously, “ Lieutenant, none of us are who we used to be. I assure you, Ava is on our side.” Even though he trusted Max’s words, he still gave Ava a look of hatred. “Have the troops spread out around the castle, I want no entrance unguarded.”
Kaelineer nodded “ Right away sir!” and he gathered up the troops and assigned entrances. Max and the others remained in the front courtyard of the palace. “What now fearless leader?” Michael asked completely serious. “We wait for Liz and the others, once they are safe and well hidden with my mother, we call Kivar out.” Michael just nodded. This was his kind of fight. No tricks, or sneaking, just a one on one fight, face to face.
A half hour later, Liz and the others arrived. Seeing Max well, and alive relieved Liz. She rushed into Max’s arms. Max gently pushed her away. “Liz, Kivar will see, I have to keep you safe.” Maria rushed into Michael arms, and held him tight. He kissed her forehead. “Go with Michael, Liz. He will take you to your mother and father. Promise me you will stay there.” There was hesitation in her eyes. She didn’t want to leave Max. “What about that vision Max? I can’t loose you!” tears spilled down her cheeks. Max gave her a look of desperation. “Liz, please! Stay put. It’s not just this planet’s freedom we’re fighting for, It’s for our freedom as well.” “But what good is that freedom if I can’t share it with you?” she asked trying not to sob. Max caressed Liz’s jaw line. “At least you and the baby will be safe.” She slowly backed away and nodded. Tears now pouring, from her dark brown eyes.
Maria looked up at Michael. “I’m not gonna get mushy on ya. Do me a favor though?” “What’s that?” Michael asked. Maria looked at him seriously “Don’t get yourself killed.” Michael gave a small chuckle. “Yes ma’am.” Maria kissed him and then took Liz’s hand. “C’mon chica, let’s get to safety.”
Max watched Liz go with a heavy heart. It killed him inside to see Liz so sad. Michael put an arm around Max. “ Let’s put an end to Kivar.” Max nodded It was time to put an end to the tyrant.
Jesse was following the others to the hideaway. As he did he glanced be hind him at the castle. His wife was up there somewhere. She could be hurt or worse. He could almost see her, writhing in pain, calling out to him. No! He would not hide like some coward. Isabel was a princess and she deserved a knight in shining armor! And that’s exactly what he was going to be. Jesse waited til the others were out of his side and then dashed towards the castle.

Isabel’s mind began to clear. What happened? When she opened her eyes, she found Kivar standing at the side of the bed. His expression was fierce. “ Seems like we have visitors.” Isabel got up from the bed and went to one of the windows. “My brother.” She stated. Kivar rolled his eyes. “Does he honestly think he can take me all by himself?” Kivar mused. Isabel put her hands on her hips “ Honestly, I don’t care!” Kivar grabbed Isabel tightly by the shoulders. “ Oh! I know you care Isabel! You’re a good actress, but not that good.” Isabel faked puzzlement “I don’t know what you are talking about.” Kivar led Isabel out of the bedroom and into an security room. “So what is he doing here?” Kivar said pointing to Jesse on a security camera. Isabel felt her blood go cold. “Oh gawd!! Jesse what are you doing?” Isabel’s mind screamed. Kivar noticed the color drain from Isabel’s face. “Is that concern I see?” Isabel snorted “As if!” “Jesse get out of there!” her mind screamed. Kivar smirked and crossed his arm. “ In that case then.” Kivar picked up a communicator “Do it.” In that very moment, time seem to slow down, for Isabel. She watched in horror as two soldiers sneaked up on Jesse and blasted him with energy. Then, Jesse’s body slumped to the floor lifelessly. “Jesse!! Noooooooooo!!!” Isabel screamed at the top of her lungs. Kivar laughed in spite of Isabel’s obvious anguish. “ Poor naive, and silly Vilandra. Naïve for loving me, silly for trusting me, Ever! I mean, who do think killed you and your brother? Looks like history is going to repeat itself.” It only Isabel a second to respond, she raised her hand and slapped Kivar square in the face. He stumbled back against in sheer surprise than cackled at her when he recovered. “Is that all you got?” It was then Isabel lost control of her rage. She aimed her energy at Kivar’s eyes. When Isabel heard him scream in pain, she ran off, making sure to set afire to the surveillance room.
She searched every hallway in every floor, til she came across Jesse’s, lifeless body. As tears flooded her eyes, she hauled Jesse to secluded storage room. She used her energy to alter the other side of the door, to appear as part of the wall. She sat down on the floor furthest from the door, and cradled Jesse’s head in her lap. “I am so sorry Jesse” she whispered. She checked for a pulse. When she found one, heart sank when she noticed how faint it was. He was dying. Pain seared through her heart. “Oh god Jesse you can’t die on me!” she whispered sadly. She placed a hand on his head and attempted to dream walk him.
Jesse was sitting on a chair in a dark room, as slides were flashed before him on a wall. Isabel approached him slowly, noticing the slides were pictures of him at many stages of his life. “Jesse?”
Jesse looked in Isabel’s direction. “Hey,” he replied solemnly, “I’m dying aren’t I?” Tears streamed down Isabel’s cheeks and she nodded. She rushed up to him and held him tight. Jesse forced her to look at him. “This is not your fault Isabel, don’t beat yourself up over it.” “It is !” she argued “If I had told you, way back when.” “I wouldn’t have believed you and still would have dated you. Isabel don’t you see? For whatever reason, our paths were meant to cross.” Isabel looked down as a fresh bout of tears filled her eyes. Jesse lifted her chin and forced her to look into her eyes. “Isabel? Promise me you will allow yourself to love again.” “But,” she objected, “Promise me!” he gently demanded. She nodded. A glowing light shined behind Jesse and he turned to look at it. “It’s time for me to go.” He said looking back at her. “I love you. Don’t forget your promise.” Then Jesse disappeared. Isabel found herself in the storage room once again. Her heart ached as she wept over and over again.

The moment it happened Max, Michael, Ava and Mayelena looked up at the castle. “Something is wrong.” Max said, “ Isabel is some kind of pain.” Michael gave Max a grim look. “Someone has died.”

Even from Mayelena’s cottage Serena could pick up on Isabel’s pain. “Oh great!” she mumbled as she woke from a nap. “So much for sleeping in.” She quickly got herself dressed and headed out side. As she fumbled through a bag she pulled out and item that resembled a watch. Tapping on it a few times it made a few beeps, and a beam of energy sprouted from it. It front of her it formed a miniature wormhole. The Kaynars in the stall next her, stared at her curiously. “Sorry guys, not today.” And she stepped into the wormhole. A few minutes later she was walking up beside Mayelena. “What’s happened? I could feel her pain all the way from the cottage. Serena suddenly cursed silently to herself. She now was momentarily the center of attention. “How did you get here so quickly?” Mayelena asked her. “Another time your highness, right now Isabel is the main concern.” Max frowned. “We don’t know what’s happened.” Suddenly Max could hear Isabel’s weak voice in his head. “Max…Jesse is dead. Oh my god he is dead! Kivar has killed him! Please come find me!” Max stumbled when the connection was broken. “Max?” Michael asked as he steadied him. “What is it?” Max looked at Michael seriously. “Jesse is dead.” Michael was stunned all he could do was stare at Max. “Isabel came into my mind and told me. She is hiding somewhere. She’s so scared and sad! We have to find her!” “I’ll go,” Serena, replied, “I’ll take Michael and Mayelena. We should be able to find her. You need to stay here, with the troops and lead them, in case Kivar starts an attack. Max nodded and Serena, Michael and Mayelena headed towards the rear of the castle.

Last part of CH 16

“Hey where is Jesse?” Phillip asked “Huh?” Maria responded, “I thought he was back there with you.”
“He was.” Phillip replied looking around puzzled. Maria shrugged “Maybe he went to take a pee?” Phillip was still looking around. “Maybe.” Liz felt it and suddenly stood still. “Liz?” Maria asked noticing the frightened look on her face. “What is it?” tears welled up in Liz’s eyes “Can you feel it Maria?” Maria looked puzzled “Feel what?” “The sadness.” Liz gulped “Isabel’s sadness. Can you feel it Maria? Oh my god! She’s so sad.”

Serena, Michael and Mayelena have been searching up and down the hallways, dodging soldiers as they came across them. Michael sighed, “It’s hopeless. We are never going to find her, this place is too big.” Mayelena snorted “I know this place like the back of my hand.” Suddenly she stopped and stared at the wall. Michael and Serena both stared at it as well. “What is it?” Serena asked eye her curiously. Mayelena frowned “That’s odd, there should be a door here.” She waved her hand over the area and instantly the door appeared. Michael and Serena looked at each other knowingly. They quietly opened the door and found Isabel slumped over Jesse’s body. They quickly rushed up to her and checked her vitals. “Isabel wake up!” Michael whispered as he gently nudged her. But Isabel would not stir. “Isabel!” Michael whispered a little more loudly, but still she would not wake.
“I have seen this before.” Michael looked at her “Seen what?” “Her. Doing this. When Vilandra and Zan’s father died, Vilandra put herself in a self induced coma, so she would not have to feel the pain, of her father’s death.” “What did you do?” Serena asked Mayelena sighed, “ Nothing we did worked, so we called upon the only person that could reach her. Kivar.” Michael frowned “ Unfortunately, Isabel is not to big on Kivar. The only person who truly could reach her was Alex, and he’s been dead for over four years now.” Michael mentioning Alex name gave Serena an idea. “Your highness? I think I might have a solution.”
“You’re going to what!” Michael practically shrieked “Make a clone” Mayelena said matter of factly. “Serena do you have that vial of blood?” Michael was puzzled “Why do we need to make a clone? Isn’t there an easier way to get Isabel out of her coma?” “ I’m afraid not Rath.” Mayelena replied. Michael left Isabel asleep on one of the Lab beds. “Just who are you cloning?” Serena smiled “An old friend of yours.” Mayelena gave Serena a serious look “Did you check the blood for the flaw?” Serena nodded “ I checked it a while back when I first collected it, it has the flaw.” Michael was getting upset “What old friend?” he demanded Serena waved her hand over her and took on the form of a nurse that Michael had asked out many years ago. “Hey, call me when you turn eighteen.” Serena said to add to the effect. Michael was stunned. His eyes were wide. “That was you?” Serena beamed back at him and nodded.

Chapter 17
Let me in

“He will only have all the memories up to when this blood was collected. The rest will have to collected from you and the others.” Mayelena explained Michael nodded his jawing hanging down. “You did it so fast!” Serena smiled proudly. “The technology has come a long way since you and the rest of the royal four were created.”

When he opened his eyes, he was confused. Had he fainted? He groaned. “Great.” he whispered to himself. “Isabel Evans saw me faint!” It wasn’t much blood; it had only been one vial. So how come he passed out? And why was he wearing this strange gown? What in the world? All he did was give a vial of blood, since when did that make him a resident of the hospital? “Liz you owe me big!” He muttered out loud. “Liz?” No answer. “Isabel?” still no answer. “ Hey guys!” Suddenly Michael appeared. “Hey Alex!” Michael said just a little too cheerfully. “Uh, Hey Michael” Alex replied somewhat confused. “Where is everyone?” Michael scratched his head. “Oh they’re around.”
“What in the world happened? I mean one minute I donate a vial of blood, next minute I am here in this weird looking Johnny. Are situations with you and Max Evans ever normal?” Alex lectured.
“How is the clone?” Serena asked while stepping into Alex’s view. “Wow!” she exclaimed. “ He’s a perfect replica! His memories?” Michael shrugged “Pretty much intact from what I can tell.” Alex looked from the nurse to Michael suspiciously. “Who’s a clone?” again he looked to the nurse and Michael, this time waiting for an answer. “Will someone please tell me what’s going on?” Michael looked at Serena impatiently. “Maybe we should just take him to Maria and Liz.” Alex nodded “Yeah good idea.” He agreed. “I will stay here with Vilandra, while you bring him to the others.” Mayelena stated. “Change the door back when you leave, and hurry if we have any hope of defeating Kivar, we need Vilandra conscious and able to fight!”
Alex stared at Mayelena dumb founded. “Is that an alien?” Then flashed Michael a dirty look. “You gave me a hallucinogen didn’t you? I knew it was drugs!!!” Michael rolled his eyes “No Alex, it wasn’t drugs.” Michael tossed some clothes to Alex, hoping they would fit.

Maria held Liz close. She had never seen such fear, in her best friend’s eyes before. She was seriously thinking it was the hormones. The truth was, she was equally worried about Michael. This wasn’t just some war with guns and bombs. This was a war with strong powers. It was killing her that she could not stand by Michael’s side and fight with him. For now she would be glad she was able to come to Antar with him. “I am sure Max will be fine, besides when you, Max, Isabel and Michael were in danger before, you saw your deaths. I mean this time you didn’t so uh, maybe it was someone, not as important.” Liz looked into her best friend’s eyes. “Don’t even think it Maria! Michael loves you, so you are important.” Maria shrugged “Yea I guess, but don’t have a special power.” “How can you say that?” Liz asked. “You have one of the most strongest powers there is…you have love.” Maria gave Liz a small smile and hugged her.
Max was leaning against a tree, when he saw something he couldn’t believe. He had to look twice. He had not seen that face in years, and thought he’d never see again. It couldn’t be! But there he was Alex Whitman, very much alive; staring at everything around him, like a child seeing the world for the first time. A few stride more and Alex and Max stood face to face. “Alex? Is that really you?” Alex looked amused for a moment. What game were Max and Michael playing? Why are people looking at him like they’ve seen a ghost? “Yea it’s really me.” Returning Max’s tone. “We’re taking him to see Liz and Maria.” Michael said. Max rushed over to Michaels side “What heck is going on?” he whispered in Michael’s ear. “I’ll explain later,” Michael replied “For now just play along.” Max couldn’t help but stare while he followed the others to where the others were hiding. How is it possible that Alex is alive on Antar? What’s the connection? Is he a hybrid like them? Max had to find out!

The cave door opened blinding Liz and Maria, temporarily with Antar’s sunshine. Who was coming in now? Liz wondered. She prayed it was Max. She and Maria stood up to greet the visitor, but who Liz saw nearly knock the wind out of her. At first she thought she still dreaming but then, “Ouch! Hey!” she exclaimed rubbing the spot Maria just pinched. “We’re not sleeping Liz he’s really there!” In a sudden rush of complete joy, both girls ran to Alex and hugged him tightly. All Alex could do was stand there bewildered. What in the world? Why was everyone acting so strange? Wait! Did he just see Liz pregnant? He gently broke up the group hug. “What in the world is going on? And..and Liz when did you become pregnant? Why does everyone look older? What happen when Isabel took my blood? Did I fall into a coma?” It suddenly dawned on Liz, that Alex had no memories; past the day he gave his blood when Max had been in the hospital. She looked at Max puzzled. “Max what’s going on?” “I don’t know.” A bewildered Max replied. “Ask them.” He nodded in Serena and Michael’s direction. Liz watched in awe as Serena changed back to herself, from the form, Liz recognized as the nurse that collected the blood from Alex, that eventful day, to her usual form. “Liz will you come with me?” Serena asked. Liz followed her towards the back of the cave. “Isabel is in a self induced coma.” Liz was confused “How? Why?” Serena looked grim “Jesse is dead, Kivar killed him. Not to long after you and the others entered the cave, Isabel went into Max’s mind explaining what happened and crying for help.” Liz was shocked “Oh my god.” she replied softly. “ I guess in her past life Isabel did something like this before, the coma thing. Back then only Kivar could call her out of it but, as we all know, Isabel is no longer sweet on Kivar.” “ So you brought back Alex.” Liz finished. “But how did you know?” Serena felt a pang of guilt. “Liz I have been many different people since I have been on earth.” Liz frowned at her. “Many people? Like who?” Serena looked at her feet, after this she would have a lot of explaining to do. Serena waved her hand over her, and took on the form of an old native Indian. Liz felt her blood went cold. “You were? So..so..there never was a River Dog? What about Nesado, and the healing stones?” Liz. Demanded. “Yes, yes there was a Riverdog.” Serena corrected. “ But he would not have known how to heal Michael.” Serena watched as anger creped into Liz’s eyes. “So, who else have you been?” anger obvious in her voice. “Liz, I would really like to get into this, but I can’t. Not now. Right now, we need to make Alex right.” Liz gave her a curious look “ Make him right how?” “ I need you and the others memories of Alex. Then I am going to give them to him. So he remembers. Otherwise all of this and the lost time will do a serious number on him.” Liz considered the request the folded her arms “Fine I’ll give you my memories, but this discussion is not over!”

After explaining to Max the details Liz and the others let Serena scan their brains for the needed memories. Moments later they were given to Alex.
Alex sat at the edge of the cave, alone thinking about all that was given to him. “Hey,” Liz said gently to him and sat down next to him. He looks at her and smiles “Hey.” “It’s a lot to take in isn’t it?” Alex nodded. “Yeah, I never thought your secret was this big!” Liz grinned and caresses her belly. “It keeps getting bigger.” Alex chuckled “May I?” Liz smiles, and nods. Alex very timidly touches Liz’s pregnant belly. “Alex?” he looks up into Liz’s eyes. They are brimming with tears “Yeah?” he asks “It’s good to have you back.”
“Are you ready?” Serena asks. Alex nods “As ready as I will ever be.” She gently places a hand on Alex’s head. “Now close your eyes, and think of the memories you have of her.” Alex closes his eyes.
At first, there was nothing. Complete silence. Then, faint crying from a distance. As he walked further and further, Alex saw a dim light flickering. As, he got closer he realized the flickering light was really a projector. “Hello?” he called out. There was no reply just more soft crying. “Isabel?” He called out. She suddenly stood up. “Who’s there?” She asked alarmed. “It’s me” Alex replies Isabel is not surprised to see him. “I thought you were gone for good.” Not sure what she was talking about Alex, played along. “I was, but somehow I got the feeling you needed me.” A fresh bout of tears rushed down Isabel’s tears “I killed him Alex, it’s my fault Jesse’s dead.” Alex looked up and saw that the projector was playing memories of Isabel’s wedding day. He smiled gently. “Isabel you didn’t kill him.” “No,” she objected “ I did, if I hadn’t brought him here, he wouldn’t have died.” Alex took a step closer to her. “Do you really think you could have stopped him? He loved you. Wild horses couldn’t keep him from where he belonged. By your side.” Isabel seemed within reach, almost ready to let go, then suddenly “No! it’s a trick! You’re just Kivar trying to get into my mind! Go away!”
Alex sighed. Then he had an idea. Suddenly there was a disco ball on the ceiling spinning. A familiar
Song was playing. ( Let Me In) By Save Ferris A singer takes the stage, and Alex is in a tuxedo. Isabel recognizes the song, and once again wearing a stunning red dress. Alex extends a hand and Isabel takes it. They slow dance for a while and Alex speaks again. “You can’t hide forever. They need you.” Isabel looks at Alex with fear in her eyes. “They’ll all end up dying because of me. Because I am Vilandra” Alex moves a strand of hair away from her face. “ You’re not that Vilandra anymore. But, even that Vilandra was not a bad person.” “But,” Alex put his finger on her lips to silence her. “ Isabel, worry about the past later, right now your brother needs you. You have to take care of Kivar only then, will you be free.” Isabel simply nodded and lay her head on her chest what she heard next cause her heart to skip a beat. His heart was beating! He was real! Not some part of her conscious! Seconds later both woke suddenly.Isabel looked over at Alex “You’re alive! How are you alive?”

Chapter 18
My friend or My Enemy

Isabel looked around the cave, waiting for an answer to her question. “Well? Who did this?” Serena stepped forward. “ Your mother and I did.” “So he’s real. Is he a hybrid?” Serena shook her head. “ No, he’s completely human.” Alex was getting annoyed. “Can we not talk as if I’m not in the room?” Isabel blushed. “Sorry Alex.” Max went to Isabel’s side. “I’m sorry about what happen to Jesse.” Isabel hugged her brother tight. Then Max stood face to face with Alex, “It’s good to have you back Alex.”
They shook hands. Alex nodded. “So I was killed huh? By who? Tess? That would be the blonde chick right? With Nesado?” Everyone nodded. “Ah yes, she was pining after Max.” Alex winked at Liz “I guess the better woman won out.” Mayelena stood at the entrance of the cave watching the reunion of friends. She was glad that her only plan to awaken Isabel turned out to be a good thing for everybody. “What about his parents?” Jeff asked after observing quietly in the shadows. “Yeah Nancy responded to her husband’s question. “What are you going to tell his parents?” Kyle stood next Max. “It’s a good question.” The truth is, he was still letting all of this sink in. He had absolutely no idea what they should do about the Alex situation. “I’m not sure right now.” Serena step in “ Right now, what we need is a plan for Kivar.”
Isabel had slowly inched her way to the entrance of the cave. She had no desire to wait for a plan. She wanted to take down Kivar and she wanted to do it now. “Where are you going?” Mayelena asked. Isabel jumped. “Oh, I just need fresh air. Jesse’s death Alex’s rebirth.” She puts her fingers to her temples. “It’s a lot to take in.” Mayelena looked at her daughter sympathetically. “Isabel? About Alex, theres something you should know.” Isabel gave a sigh. “Let it wait, right now I need fresh air.”
As, soon as she was out of the cave, she bolted to the front courtyard, and then closed her eyes in concentration. Moments later Kivar stood on the front balcony. “ You dare challenge me alone do you? Your nothing more than mere half breed!” Kivar sneered down at Isabel from high up on the balcony “You killed my husband! Half breed or not I will take you down!” Isabel challenged back. From behind a set of bushes a soldier recognized Isabel and ran to the cave for the others.
“Hey? Where did Isabel go?” Alex asked. Max looked around for his sister. Suddenly the soldier burst into the cave. “ Your highness!” he exclaimed to Max “Princess Vilandra is challenging Kivar by herself!” “What!” Max gasped “Michael! Ava! Mayelena!.” Let’s go!” “ I should go too.” Alex stated.
“No Alex! It’s too dangerous!” Max replied urgently. Alex looked at Mayelena expectantly “You should tell them.” Max looked to Mayelena and Alex confused. “Tell us what?” Mayelena gave Max a guilty look. “ I mix some antarian DNA with Alex’s DNA. “What!” Max exclaimed. Then he looked at Alex with disbelief. Alex casually touched his hair, and suddenly he was a blonde. “Hey, you know blonde’s a really good look for you.” Maria mused. Alex rolled his eyes and changed his hair back “So what’s the big deal?” Maria asked. “I mean, the more help you have, the better off you are right?” “She’s got a point Maxwell” Michael pointed out. Max gave a resigning sigh. “I suppose you’re right. Kyle? You coming too?” Kyle looked at Ava. Wasn’t his place to fight side by side with her? His male ego screamed yes! But his sensible side wasn’t sure how his newfound power would help. Could knowing what Kivar was feeling be a help after all? There was only one way to find “I’m in.” He replied as he looked into Ava’s eyes. Serena never intended, to fight side by side with the King. Shoot! She never wanted to take as side. But here it was, a choice. Right now, after revealing who she had been, the royal four needed to KNOW, that she was still on their side; that she was trustworthy. She will fight, but it won’t be for the King. “You can count me in.” Serena added. Liz looked at Serena curiously. “Note to self,” Serena muttered to herself. “Have that talk with Liz.”
Max looked over at Nakira. “You don’t even have to ask your highness.” Nakira responded. “You have my loyalty.” Max approached Liz. “ I know you want in on this fight Liz,” Max spoke gently looking deep into her eyes, so she could see what he was feeling. “But, for our baby’s safety, I am asking you to stay here with our parents.” Liz simply nodded but inside she was torn. She had always fought by Max’s side, but she could not risk their child’s life. Sensing Liz’s emotions, the unborn child shifted restlessly. Max bend down and Kissed Liz gently*Flash* The unborn child, she moving around a lot, and Max can feel the child’s worry.*Flash* A figures hovering over the ground a blue aura around it.*Flash* Max frowned at Liz. What had he just seen? What was that floating figure? Max made a mental note to ask Liz about it later, if they got through this battle. “ Don’t worry so much, she is sensing it.” Max said touching Liz’s belly gently.

Kivar cackled. “That pathetic human? I did him a favor by ending his life! He had no idea how deceitful you can be! Poor fool! Had no idea how close his wife came to cheating on him!” Isabel grit her teeth, as rage filled her broken heart. “Kivar you never had a chance! Did it ever occur to you that maybe I was just playing with you?” Kivar laughed again. “Nice try Vilandra, but I saw how you looked at me!” “ You know Kivar, all the power you have, has blinded you from the truth.” She pointed out to him. “And what truth might that be?” He mused. “That underneath all that power you have, and the fear from our people, you are what you have always been…. NOTHING!” Kivar felt his rage course through his blood as he gripped the banister tightly. He would not have this mere half-breed attempt to put him in his place! Energy balled up in the center of his palm, glowing red like his anger. He would show her who was nothing. Isabel squinted at Kivar as she noticed a glowing red light coming from his hand. Suddenly she was yanked out of the way. Max stood in front of her projecting a glowing green shield. When Kivar’s energy smashed against Max’s shield, it sent him flying backwards. Michael rushed to his side and helped him up. “Would you like another sliced of humble pie you’re highness?” Kivar called out. Max stared up at Kivar fiercely. “Better yet, why don’t I add an interesting twist to this fight? Guards!” Suddenly a large swarm of guards rushed out from the castle gates. “Give the signal” Max ordered to Michael. Michael nodded and whistled. From behind every tree, bush and bolder troops loyal to King Zan rushed out.
Alex joined Isabel’s side. “Alex are you crazy!” She shrieked, “It’s to dangerous! Go back to the cave!” Alex gave a stern look “I can help don’t worry.” Guards joined Kivar’s side sending energy in Max’s direction. Alex immediately covered himself and Isabel with a force field. Isabel stared at him with disbelief. “How?” she asked Alex smirked. “I’ll explain later.” Energy balls flew everywhere. Some hit the ground causing it to shake. Isabel made her own energy ball and sent it flying to the balcony.

Liz was pacing the cave floor nervously. “Liz honey, I am sure everything’s fine. Jeff said, trying to comfort his daughter. It, didn’t work, Liz still paced the floor. A sudden rumble caused Diane and Phillip to huddle close together. Liz looked around in panic “Liz don’t freak out, or you going to make me freak out.” Maria pleaded. Liz gave Maria a small smile and hugged her best friend. Liz and Maria sat down with the Parkers. “What does your mom think of all of this Maria?” Nancy asked curiously. “ She seemed pretty cool with it.” Nancy couldn’t help showing, how surprised she was. “ So, am I the only one, having a hard time accepting all of this?” Maria and Liz nodded in unison. “Nancy, times are different,” Jeff explained “The younger generation are more open and accepting.” “Jeff, her pregnancy is almost over and she only found out two weeks ago!” Nancy complained. She looked at Liz “ Is it even human?” Nancy’s words took Liz off guard, “Does it even matter? This child is your grand daughter!” Liz replied heatedly. “Mom, I cannot believe you are acting this way!” Liz got up and stormed off to the Evans’s with Maria trailing behind.

PT2 My Friend or My Enemy

Liz was telling Mr. And Mrs. Evans about they’re road trip, when a strange feeling came over her. It started at the pit of her stomach. And very slowly traveled up to her heart and then started to work up to her arms. Flash! The onset of this vision was so powerful it knocked Liz flat on her back. Kivar was pulled into mid air by a mysterious force. “I will not stop, until every Antarian is wiped off the face of this planet!” Kivar spat.*Flash* Liz’s body convulsed. “I will kill you again! Just like I did before! Just like I killed the King before you!” Suddenly a burst of power surged towards Kivar. But, Kivar successfully blocked it. Flash Isabel wounded on the ground. Flash Maxis struck down. Liz convulses again. Jeff and Nancy rush to Liz’s side. Flash Michael’s struck down. Maria is kneeling over Liz trying not to panic, tears streaming down her cheeks. Outside of the cave more rumbling is heard.
“Liz wake up!” Maria pleaded “Please! Why won’t you wake up!” Nancy’s watched in fear as Maria tried her best to wake Liz up. Then, she bent over Liz and gently kissed Liz’s forehead. “ Liz honey, wake up.” “Mom?” Liz whispered. When Liz opened her eyes Nancy gasped in fear. She didn’t see her daughter’s soulful brown eyes; instead they were bright blue, with no pupils. “Everything will be okay mom,” Liz said her voice mixed with another’s, making it seem demonic. “Trust me.” As if some unseen force was pulling her, Liz floated to a standing position. Liz looked at Maria “The others, they need me.” Maria nodded numbly. Then Liz walked out of the cave.

Isabel’s energy ball grazed Kivar’s shoulder and he cursed under his breath. Kivar was enraged, and sent one sailing back at her. Catching Alex off guard, the energy ball slammed into Isabel’s right leg, and she fell to the ground with a groan. A stray energy ball struck Michael, knocking him unconscious. His body crumpled to the ground. “You won’t defeat me Kivar! So why don’t you just give up!” Max hollered up at him.
“I have been defeating you, for years your highness! I will kill you again! Just like I did before! Like I did the king before you!” Mayelena gasped. So it was he whom killed her husband, all those years ago. But how? The reports said natural causes.
She gathered Kyle, Serena and Ava. “Ava, I need you to get into the castle, contact Larek. Tell him what’s going. Tell him we need help. Think you can do it?” Ava nodded “As, long as they think I’m still on Kivar’s side.” “And if they don’t?” Kyle asked, his worry obvious. “I’ll find a way, besides I can always mind warp them.” Kyle chuckled uncomfortably. Mayelena gave Kyle a serious look “Well?” she asked. “I’m not sure why, but he’s frightened. It feels like he has more to lose if Max, wins this, than Kivar is letting on.” A energy ball came sailing at them, but Serena used a force field to protect them. Kivar waited for the moment, the brief second Max dropped his force field to send a burst of energy at one of the guards at Kivar’s side. When Kivar saw the moment, he sent a burst of energy towards Max. The energy hit it’s mark, and Max’s body fell lifelessly to the ground. Mayelena gasped in horror “Zan!No!” “Max!” Liz’s voice cried out as she watched him fall to the ground. Then the energy that stirred in her consumed her completely. Liz Parker Evans was conscious no more. Someone else’s mind was in control.
A thick blue beam of energy smashed against Kivar’s chest, sending him backwards. His back smashed against the wall, sending bits of rock everywhere. Kivar rose to his feet bewildered. Something grabbed his throat. He gasped to get some air. Kivar squinted, he saw a blue glowing light, in the middle of the courtyard. No, not a light a figure, and it hovered a few feet above the ground.
“Murdering snake!” a voice hissed.
