Chapter 21
Max and Michael sat looking through all documents that Arlene Jensen had in her home. They were looking for any indication as to where the cabin might be. Max hoped there was another family member who might be of help, but one of the last two members of the Jensen family was dead. Only Cole himself was left. Max knew that before this was all over, he would make sure Jensen was not left.
"Max, there's no fucking clue to where this cabin is!"Michael shouted frustrated. .
"Michael, there's something somewhere, we just have to find it," Max said.
"How do you even know this is where Liz is?" Michael asked skeptically
Max rolled his eyes in irritation.
"Michael, let me clear this up. I am not making you search through all of this for no good reason. I know with everything that I am, that this cabin is where my wife is. It's also where Emma is. Now, I didn't call and ask you for help, only to have you start questioning me now," Max said.
"I know Max. I'm not, I"m just frustrated. I believe you when you say this is where we can find them, I really do," Michael replied honestly.
"Michael, we are looking into this cabin as if it's owned property. Maybe he doesn't own the cabin or the property. Maybe he's renting it. Or maybe he's just there illegally. We should look into places that he could easily use without anyone knowing," Max suggested.
"Good idea, Maxwell," Michael agreed.
"Let's take a look at the picture again. Maybe there's some small clue in it that can help us narrow down the possible location of the cabin," Max said.
Looking at the picture they noticed nothing in particular of help. Flipping over the photograph, Max noticed writing on the back.
Amelia Jensen
April 6, 2000
Four years old
Looking back at Amelia's smiling face, he noticed her T-shirt, said ‘birthday girl'. It must have been taken on her fourth birthday, Max thought. He knew this had some importance. He just couldn't grasp what it is.
He got up and ran quickly towards the basement again, with Michael shouting behind him.
Ignoring Michael, he ran towards a box he saw earlier. A box of old birthday cards. Of children's birthday cards. Hurriedly digging through them, he flipped each one open and read the contents quickly.
He came across on that had a cartoon on the front saying Happy Fourth Birthday in bright pink letters. He opened it with a racing heart, and read the contents. It was from Arlene. It read:
Happy Birthday Amelia, I love you and I hope you have fun in Virginia.
Max's heart was in his throat. It had to be in Virginia. He checked the card again and sure enough it was for Amelia's fourth birthday. The picture with the cabin was taken on her fourth birthday. The cabin was in Virginia. They still had a whole state to look through, but with ti being narrowed down to one state was much more hope than Max could have wished for. He said a silent prayer while tears of relief streamed down his face. I'm coming Liz, Max thought with a bruised heart.

Liz was in the bathroom washing up when she heard a voice she had come to loathe call out her name. She shivered thinking he didn't have a right to say her name that way. He didn't have a right to say her name at all.
Liz turned to see him standing in the doorway of the bathroom. He had a smile on his face. A leering smile. He had never smiled at her that way before. Liz felt a shudder of fear wrack her small frame.
"So, Liz, I was thinking maybe things between us could change. Amelia really needs a mother and I really need someone too. Since you're going nowhere and it seems that we've both taken to you quite nicely, that maybe you'd like to become that mother and someone we need," Jensen said smoothly.
Liz's eyes widened with shock. He couldn't be implying what she thought he was. She unconsciously took a step further back from him. In turn, he took a step closer towards her. His eyes raked up and down her body with an appraising gaze. When his eyes finally met her's again, she had to swallow back the bile at the look in his eyes.
"I mean, my wife passed away, and Max is as good as dead to you, and you're as good as dead to him. Obviously he doesn't care about you like you thought, because he willingly handed you over to me. He hasn't taken you back like I know you have hoped for,"Jensen said coldly.
Liz had to bite her tongue at what she really wanted to say. She wanted to tell him he disgusted her and that Max will always be alive in her heart and she knew he was looking for her and that he would find her and kill him. But she couldn't do that, she didn't have the luxury to speak her mind. Another reason she resented him more and more each day.
Liz felt a sharp pain shoot through her lower abdomen. It was as if her child was trying to silently tell Jensen off too. Liz's hand flew to her stomach and she gasped out in pain.
"What's wrong?" Jensen asked quickly.
Liz's eyes widened in fear and she quickly spit out, "Nothing...N-Nothing. Just a little cramp."
Jensen's eyes narrowed suspiciously.
He brought his hand up to touch her face. Right when his hand made contact, another violent pain ripped through her abdomen. She doubled over gasping for breathe.
Jensen grabbed her face forcing Liz's gaze to meet his questioning one.
When he saw her eyes he knew what was wrong.
"You're pregnant," he stated in a deadly calm voice.

After only a couple hours of research they had found the location of the cabin. They were on their way to finding Liz. They had only about another hour of driving to do, before they would be at the cabin.
Max requested help from the department, but Chief Spencer had said he couldn't afford the manpower to help Max on his wild goose chase. He said not mater how much he wanted to, he couldn't send help without solid evidence, not just a feeling. Things had been tense at the department since they found out about the betrayal that Jensen took part in.
Max was angry to say the least, but he could do this himself, with Michael's help.
He gripped the steering wheel until his knuckles turned white. His eyes were filled with tears and his jaw was clenched.
Every mile they were closer, he could feel his anger rising. Almost to the point where he couldn't focus. He was almost afraid what would happen once he came face to face with Jensen.
