Part 2:

Walking down the strip, Max and Liz held each others’ hands as they took in the wonder that was Las Vegas. They had just stepped off the plane a few hours ago. After having rented a ’09 Ford Explorer, they had driven in a companionable silence to the Four- Square hotel that Maria had booked them in. Liz had sucked in a breath as Max pulled into the hotel entrance. They had just sat there as they took in where they were going to be staying for the next seven days. There were no words to explain the five star hotel that was named Four Square except that it was magnificent. Standing on the strip, four towers reached for the sky extenuating the greatness of the architecture… giving it the name Four Square.

They were snapped out of their daze as a bell boy knocked on Liz’s window to gain their attention. Meeting one another’s gaze, they both smiled in awe and happiness. Putting the car into park, Max stepped out to unload their luggage. Continuing to gaze up at the hotel, she slowly followed. Who would have thought that ten years ago, they would be back in Viva Las Vegas to celebrate their honeymoon? She had felt overwhelmed with so many emotions: happiness, fear, contentment, excitement…that at that moment that she couldn’t help the tears that came to her eyes. A few seconds later, she felt Max’s presence beside her. Looking up with eyes glittering with tears and happiness, Liz took his hand to be led into the hotel. They had decided to unpack and freshen up before taking a walk on the strip.

“I remember the last time we were here…” Max whispered looking around at the lights and glamour of Viva Las Vegas. “I ended up in jail!” This made Liz laugh softly. “And I ended up in the arcade.” He smiled at her contagious laughter, before putting his arm around her shoulders to pull her close…breathing her in. They walked quite a distance taking in the non-stop excitement of the strip. Looking at his watch, Max noticed that it was getting pretty late. “Wanna get something to eat and then head back to the hotel room?” “Sure.” Liz answered with a small smile. She knew what he was trying to do…play it casual…give her time for what was about to happen. She didn’t need time. Anticipation and excitement filled her as they headed to a fast food restaurant nearby.

An hour later, they were headed back to the Hotel. As they walked in silence she couldn’t help but stare at him from beneath her lashes. There was a sexual tension in the air that consumed Liz. She had been sleeping with him for a month or two now and all of the tension and heat that had built up was getting her aroused…very aroused. Max wasn’t doing too good himself. The closer they came to the hotel…the more aggravated and excited he became. He was a King not a saint and he had been waiting long to make love to Liz…too long. They entered the hotel quietly…not giving a soul a clue as to what was getting ready to happen behind closed doors. Max’s heart was pounding against his chest as they waited for the elevator to reach their floor. Once there, they walked to their room in complete silence. Liz watched intently as Max unlocked their door before stepping inside.

Moments later, Max watched intently as Liz entered the bathroom to take a shower. Hard with desire and excitement, he took a deep breath before picking up the phone to call his mother’s house. Moments later after having talked to the kids and his parents, he hung up the phone… once again calm. He listened then as the shower cut off…hardening at the thought of what was to come. His hand shook as he took a drink of his water. Sitting down on the bed, he waited. Moments later, he almost dropped his bottled water as Liz stepped into the bedroom wearing a long white sheer night gown that left nothing to the imagination. Her nipples stood at attention through the gown calling out to him. Her breasts were round and large enough for him to cup into his hands. Slowly, Max looked down taking in the flat smooth expanse of her tummy through the material. His mouth went dry as his gaze traveled lower to the dark V between her legs. Max realized in stunned realization then that she had nothing on under the sheer material.

Taking a deep breath, he willed himself to walk over to her and not attack her. She took his breath away. Her chocolate brown hair fell in waves down her back and around her face. Her dark brown eyes, glittering with mischief and excitement, sucked him into their depts. Trailing his hands softly down her arms, Max watched mesmerized as her pupils dilated with need. Liz shivered before looking down to watch as he stooped down in front of her. Slowly, he lifted her gown…his hands trailing softly up her legs and thighs.
She sighed in pleasure as his hands moved further up to gently palm her buttocks making her shiver with awareness. His fingers ran slowly across her hips. Where ever his hands went, his mouth followed…kissing a trail of fire up her body.

Liz gasped as he pulled her gown over her head before palming her breasts in his hand tenderly. He sucked and rolled one of her straining nipples with his hot lethal tongue before giving her other nipple the same attention. His hands moved slowly from her breasts before trailing them leisurely around her waist. Deliberately slow, Max moved his palms down her back…tracing her spine. His lips traveled along the column of her neck as he breathed in her scent. “You taste and smell so good, Liz!” He whispered huskily in her ear before methodically kissing her on the cheek. Her breath came out raggedly as she kept her eyes closed…concentrating on feeling nothing but the pleasure he could bring. Liz smiled as he kissed her eyelids and nose. She opened her eyes then as she waited for him to finally kiss her.

As she met his eyes, his lips descended upon hers…making her gasp at the feel and taste of his passion. He took her mouth slowly…drinking her in as if he had all the time in the world. Moaning in pleasure, Liz intertwined her arms around his neck just as he moved his hands lower to palm backside once more. His breath came out in bellows as he tasted her. Lifting her up while palming her smooth cheeks, Max pressed her up against him…grinding her against his groin in hunger. Liz panted into his mouth…her eyes closed against the intense pleasure. Laying her gently down on the king size bed, he balanced himself on his hands while looking down into her dark brown eyes. His hand came up…with one finger he tenderly trailed her swollen lips.

“Do you know how beautiful you are? I feel like the luckiest half human on the planet!” This made Liz laugh softly. “I couldn’t bare it if I hurt you again, Liz!” Max stated concern and love filling his eyes as he stared down at her. “Just love me, Max. That’s all I need...To know that you love me…and to know that… I know that you would never intentionally hurt me!” She whispered, smiling lovingly into his sober eyes. “I do love you…” “Well then show me. I want you to make love to me…over and over again!” Liz whispered seductively before slowly pulling him down for a kiss so erotic that Max groaned in pleasure. Their lips clung and their tongues stroked each other into a fiery passion. Breaking the kiss, Max licked his bottom lip. “Take off your clothes, Max!” Liz breathed in desperation.

Grinning with relief, Max sat up before pulling off his t-shirt…giving Liz a view of his very impressive chest. His muscles flexed as he went to undo his pants all the while staring at her in intent. She couldn’t help but touch him…trailing her hands down his chest…marveling at how hot and hard he was. He stood completely still with his eyes closed as she explored him. Moving her hands down his back, Liz continued the process of pushing down his jeans and boxers. Her eyes widen as she looked down at his hard penis jutting towards her. She instantly grew more excited and curious as she examined his hardness. He was so big and instantly Liz’s excited became a little bit of fear. Would he fit? His hard on jerked as she wrapped her palm around him. Pre-cum glistened the red bulbous as it strained against her hand…hot and hard. Liz felt herself get even wetter as Max groaned in pain. “Liz…don’t…I won’t last!” He breathed.

Liz nodded staring up into his eyes. She wanted to taste him but she wanted even more to feel him inside of her. Sitting back on the bed, she watched as he hurriedly rid himself of his jeans and boxers. Climbing back into the bed, Max smoothed his hands along her legs as he mounted her. There was a hunger in his eyes that she had never seen before. Leaning down on his arms, he started to nibble on her lips making her sigh in pleasure. She could feel his hardness against her heated core…making her ache all the more. Wrapping her arms around him once again, Liz sighed his name before he took her mouth in a deep drugging kiss. She undulated her hips…rubbing herself up against him. Taking her signal, he gently pulled away positioning himself at her heated entrance.

Opening her lips, Max felt how ready she was and almost lost control. He continued to stare into her eyes as he centered himself against her before pushing deep. Liz gasped in pain and discomfort as he pushed slowly into her passage way. Max held himself still as her heat enveloped him in intense pleasure. She was so wet… so tight that he almost came right then and there. Looking up, he registered the pain in her eyes and started to withdraw completely from within her. “Max no!” Liz whispered breathing hard before locking her legs around him…pulling him deeper inside her. “Liz?” “I’m fine, Max! God…you are big…so hard!” Liz whispered, just as the pain started to recede. Becoming adjusted to him, she tightened around him, making him swear in agony. She closed her eyes as she tightened around his hard penis again this time making him jerk in pleasure. Not being able to take it anymore, Max leaned down on his palms once again and started moving.

Liz gasped in pleasure as he continued to move slowly within her…hitting something so good that she arched beneath him. Sweat beaded on Max’s forehead as he moved slowly within her…his eyes closed tight in concentration…his muscles tense and shaking. Whimpering, Liz met his slow thrusts with her some of her own. Seconds turned into minutes as Max started to plummet harder into Liz’s depths and as her whimpers turned into cries of pleasure. “Oh Max…Yes-Yes! Harder!” Moving her trembling legs onto his shoulders, he leaned forward to pound into her harder and deeper…making her scream out in pleasure so intense that it was bordering on agony as she came and came and came. The head board thudded and groaned as Max continued to move within her. Feeling her tighten around him in the mist of her orgasm, he started short stroking her as his sacs tightened in pain. “Liz! Oh god!” Eyes closed against the pleasure of finally being inside of her, he cried out as a burning intensity moved throughout his body…making him shudder as he came into her…jerking and groaning. Sweat coated his body as he collapsed into her arms breathing her in heavily…as tremors ran through both of their sated bodies.

The next morning, Liz awakened to find Max asleep in her arms…her hips still cradled in his…as he lay nestled softly inside of her. Sighing in pleasure, she pushed a strand of his dark hair away from his eyes. She still couldn’t believe he cut it… not that she didn’t love how masculine he looked. Lightly rubbing his back, she thought about the night before. They had made love three times: the first time slow and easy while expressing their love to one another, the second time being a little more playful and urgent with Liz riding Max into a frenzy, and the third time even more intense then the first as Max took her from behind before turning her over for a deeper penetration. She should have felt sore but thanks to her husband’s healing touch…she didn’t. At that moment, Liz knew Max was awake when he started getting hard within her…making her catch her breath at the pleasure he elicited inside of her.

Hours later, she stood under the shower spray with a big grin. She had never realized that making love with Max would be this intense…this addictive. She had realized from the beginning of their relationship that it would be good…but not this good. It was almost scary. Their love making was sometimes gentle and loving…while majority of the time it was hot, raw, and so intense that it left Liz breathless just thinking about it. They were both insatiable when it came to each other. After their last round, Max had fallen asleep holding her in his arms. She had watched him for at least an hour with a huge grin on her face before slowly making her way to the bathroom. Fifteen minutes later…shower and dresses, Liz made her way back into the room to find Max awake. Sitting up in the bed with his chest bare and just a sheet draped across his lap he flipped through the channels. “So whaddya want to do today?” She asked climbing into bed beside him. “Other than making love to you?” “Yes.” Liz laughed softly at the huskiness in his voice and the laughter in his eyes. “Well we can go out for a walk…take in the attractions…and a few shows?” He suggested before leaning over to give her a good morning kiss.

Pulling away in a daze from his drug induced kiss, she smiled seductively. “Let’s do that...and then once we get back I’m yours for the taking!” “Deal!” Max murmured against her mouth. Sighing, Liz kissed him back before pulling away with a teasing smile. Licking his bottom lip in hunger while shaking his head, Max sat up on the bed before pulling on his jeans that were lying discarded beside the bed. Making his way into the bathroom with nothing on except jeans, he couldn’t help noticing Liz’s intense gaze. Grinning, he entered the bathroom in anticipation for what the day would bring. Hours later, hand and hand Max and Liz made their way to the strip opting to leave the rental car in the hotel’s garage. First they went to breakfast at a small diner called Elvis’s Pancake and Waffle where Liz ordered cinnamon French toast with eggs and Max ordered sausage and eggs with a side order of strawberries. They talked about everything: Alex, Amelia, and Zan, her mother, Ava, their new house that they would be moving into as soon as they got back home…everything.

Hours later, Max and Liz lay in their hotel room while watching UnderWorld: Evolution. They were simply exhausted from all their love making and sight seeing. Lying on their sides, Liz stroked Max’s forearms as they watched the Lycans and the Vampires battle on T.V. This was the first time in actually a long time when they had actually had a chance to relax with each other. Liz had never felt as safe as she did then…laying in Max’s arms. After having left the small diner, they had gone to the Aquarium where they had taken pictures for Alex, Amelia, and Zan. From there they had gone to a small theme park and had ridden most if not all the rides. During their stay in the theme park, Liz had found out some surprising things from her husband…like for instance he was a chicken when it came to roller coasters. Hours later, they were back in bed snuggled together. For the first time in a really long time, Liz realized that she was happy without fear or reservation.

Chapter 11:

Seven days later, Max and Liz pulled up outside of their new home. They had decided to meet up with Ms. Joyce, the realtor, to the sign papers…closing the deal on the house before picking up the kids from Max’s parents. They sat in silence for awhile taking everything in. “Are you sure about this, Max?” Liz asked in doubt as she stared up at the quaint, homey house that had cost them both an arm and a leg. “We can always stay where we are?” “I’m sure…aren’t you? This would be a fresh start for us as a family. Amelia and Alex need the reassurance that where we live is their home too… I know how Zan is…he’s claimed his territory where we are now and, if we stay, he won’t make you, Alex, and Amelia very comfortable living there. The way I see it is if we move here…we’ll be starting out on new even ground. I’ll pay for both your half and my half of the down payment if that’s what you’re worried about? I wanted to do that from the beginning!” Max answered with a small smile.

“I know you did but like you said we would be starting out on even ground here. If you paid the down payment and everything I wouldn’t feel as though this was my home…but yours. If we’re going to do this...then let me contribute my share.” Liz laughed softly, taking in the surroundings of where they would reside. The house was Southern Country in style with a newly painted beige exterior and a nice sized porch. From what Max had told her, the house sported three large bedrooms, two baths, a laundry room, a pantry, a patio in the backyard, and a two car garage. The house was perfect for them. Taking a deep breath, she smiled before meeting Max’s warm gaze scrutinizing her. “You’re right…this would be a great start for us as a family. I guess something so perfect as being your wife, raising our kids, and living in this beautiful house has me a little scared of this being too perfect…you know? As if any day now the ball will drop and something terrible will happen!” Liz finished biting her lip while looking out of her passenger side window at their new neighborhood.

“Look at me, Liz!” Max commanded gently as he heard the doubt and fear in her voice. She looked up into his eyes. “I can’t promise you that things won’t go wrong but I can promise you that as long as we’re together we can get through it. Together we’re a force to be reckoned with Mrs. Evans…don’t ever doubt that!” Max said smiling softly before taking her hand into his and bringing it up to his lips. She shook her head, smiling. “I won’t I promise!” Leaning over, Liz met his soft firm lips…nibbling on them. Moaning in pleasure of how sweet she tasted, he went back for more…deepening the kiss as she started to pull away. Liz instantly felt the heat build in her loins as he kissed her thoroughly making her wish that they were someone where else more private. At the sound of a car’s engine, Max pulled away licking his bottom lip as he had to fight the hunger to take her where they sat. “She’s here…” Liz stated, licking her lips as well as she watched Max do the same.

With a deep breath, Max exited his pick up truck with Liz not too far behind him as Ms. Joyce exited her small Honda. After making introductions between his wife and the realtor, Max followed behind them as they made there way into the large entrance way that connected to a spacious living room and dinning room. There was a door to a hallway, over to his right that led into two bedrooms and a bathroom. Beyond that door was a huge fire place centered in a corner. He watched as Liz excitedly looked around. “Oh Max…look!” She said as she went into the hallway to his left where the two bedrooms and bathroom were. He immediately followed...watching her in amusement. “This could be Alex and Zan’s room…” She said pointing to the room on her left. “And this could be Amelia’s room.” She said indicating the room to her right with excitement. “So whaddya think?”

“I think it’s great…wait until you see our bedroom!” Max whispered in her ear playfully. “Imagine how much fun we can have there. I can just imagine it…taking you on the wall…in our private bathroom…not mention our bed!” He whispered huskily, as she felt his engorged penis against her bottom. “So how are we doing in here?” Ms. Joyce interrupted making them jump in embarrassment. “Ummm we were doing just fine…thanks! We’re just going to go look at the rest of the house and then we’ll be ready.” Liz smiled, grabbing Max’s hand before heading into the living room. There were four windows and a glass door that looked out into the yard. Walking over to the glass door that separated the living room and the dinning room, Liz opened it and gasped. The yard was in one word huge. It even rivaled Maria’s yard. Stepping out onto the patio, Liz grinned in delight as she held her face up towards the sun’s rays. As long as he lived, Max would never forget how happy she looked at that very moment. She took his breath away as she met his eyes with a stunning smile. Max couldn’t help taking her into his arms right then and there. “I love you!” He said against her lips as he kissed her softly. Sighing softly, she whispered, “I love you too!” With a small smile, Max pulled away. “Come on…let’s go see the rest of the house and then sign those papers.” Liz sighed as Max led her back inside.

Moving past the living room and dinning room into the kitchen, she nodded in approval. The kitchen was the size of the kids’ bedrooms with two windows looking out into their front yard. As she entered, she noticed that it had a bar that looked out into eating area that was just off the right of the dinning room. The eating area was a little bit more spacious then the kitchen with three more windows adorning it. Beside the dining room was the laundry room which led out into their garage and storage area. Moving along, they spoke intimately to each other about their plans for the house. Last but not least was the master bedroom. Remembering Max’s words, Liz almost moaned at what they would do in this room. Their bedroom was spacious with a large walk in closet. Beside the closet was a luscious bathroom which had Liz thinking of the naughtiest things that they could do in the shower…in the bath tub, and on the sink. Catching Max’s intense gaze in the mirror…Liz blushed at what was to come.

Twenty minutes later, the papers were signed, the keys were handed over to them, and they were on their way to get the kids. Things were looking up until they entered Max’s parents’ home to see Zan and Alex with black eyes and bruises adorning their faces and necks. To say Max and Liz were shocked and furious was an understatement. They didn’t scold or shout at the boys as they wanted to but led them to the pick up truck in a disapproving silence. The only happy camper out of the small group was Amelia. The car ride home was ridden in silence. As Max parked the pick up, Liz sighed as both Alex and Zan slammed out of the truck. “What should we do?” Liz asked as she stared at the two boys waiting impatiently for them. “Talk to them…see what happened…and then if what we think really happened… then they’ll be grounded for a month. No T.V, no computer games, no video games, no music, no movies, and certainly no phone. Their only amusement will be playing outside in the back yard and doing chores. Whaddya think…too harsh?” Max sighed, looking to her for help.

“I think it’s just right. We can’t allow fighting when it comes to our family…both of them have to realize that!” Liz replied sighing as well as she took his hand. Liz realized that instead of Max just deciding for her…he asked her for her help regarding their children. This made her warm inside because instead of her being the good cop and him being the bad cop in this situation…they were a team. After squeezing his hand in reassurance, both Max and Liz exited the truck. Silence reined as they made their way into a house full of packed boxes. If everything went as planned they would be moving tomorrow. They had arrived in Roswell this morning to come back home to pack and for some much needed rest before heading over to their new place to sign the papers. Taking off her shoes, Liz sat down on the sofa curling her feet up beside her. “Amelia, go wash up for dinner, okay? We need to talk to your brothers privately.” “But mom don’t you want to hear my story of what happened?” “Maybe later, Amelia. For now go do what I said!” Liz replied in a stern voice which Amelia took as her queue to leave before she got her parent’s wrath too.

Sitting down beside his wife, Max indicated for Alex and Zan to sit down as well. “What happened today…were you guys fighting?” “He started it!” Alex muttered. “I did not!” “You did too! You were mad because I was winning the basketball game so you threw the ball at my face!” Alex shouted, jumping up. “You were cheating…using your powers…and then you told me to shut up and stop whining like a wimp when I caught you!” Zan shouted as well, jump up to stand in Alex’s face. Max sighed as he looked at his sons before firmly telling them to sit down in a hard voice. “Here’s how it’s going to go...first you will apologize to each other…now!” He said firmly, his voice hard with anger and impatience. Scared to the bone at seeing their father so angry, Alex and Zan both mumbled apologies to each other. “Next you will promise both I and Liz that as long as you are brothers and living under our roof that you will never lay a hand on one another in violence again. Its one thing to play…it’s another thing to fight and hurt each other. That will not be tolerated from either one of you!” Max finished angrily looking to each boy for his promise.

“I promise we won’t fight anymore!” Alex whispered looking over to his mother who was watching them in disappointment and sadness. He had never wanted to see that look aimed towards him…never mind his father’s anger…his mother’s disappointment scared him the most. “Yeah, I promise too!” Zan mumbled, guilty at what he had done to make his dad so angry. Sighing Liz spoke, “Both I and your father have decided that you will be grounded for a month. No T.V, no computer games, no video games, no music, no movies, and no phone. You both will do your chores together…and there will be enough chores to go around and keep you busy. If you happen to finish all your chores before the sun sets…you will be allowed to play in the backyard but that’s it. If this happens to happen again…be prepared for the consequences.” Liz finished sadly, looking to each boy with sternness. At that moment, Amelia called down, “Can I come down now!” “Yes.” Liz answered. “Go wash up for dinner.” Max said sternly watching as the boys trudged up the steps, before meeting Liz’s eyes. “Did we do okay?” Liz laughed softly before answering, “Yeah…We did alright!”

Hours after dinner and tucking the kids into bed, Liz lay spent on top of Max’s hard chest. She murmured in pleasure as their orgasms ran through them making her twitch and tighten…while he groaned and kissed her deeply, stroking her back in the process. After making sure the kids were a sleep, she and Max taken a shower where he had lost control and had taken her hard from behind. An hour later snuggled in bed, they made love again… slowly this time…as Liz rode him to completion. Exhausted from excitement of the day and the soothing feel of Max’s hands trailing up and down her back, Liz dozed off to sound of Max telling her how much he loved her. The next morning after breakfast, Max drove a large moving truck full of furniture to their new home as Liz followed behind him with kids seated in the backseat of her car in silence. This was the kids first time to the house, Liz’s second time, and Max’s third time. Parking behind the moving truck, Liz got out with kids following behind her. Isabel, Jesse, Diane, Phillip, Nancy, Amy, Sherriff Valenti, Michael, Maria, and the kids were on their way. Kyle was coming as soon as he got off shift and Ava would be coming at about eight since she switched shifts at work.

Speaking of Ava, she hadn’t spoken to her since the night of her wedding reception. Two months after Max proposed and they had decided to move, Ava had found a one bedroom apartment to rent in Kyle’s building for less than what she was paying living with Liz. In a crazy sort of way, Liz felt as if she had lost her best friend. It had been at least a month since they had a girl’s night where they could just hangout and talk. Now and then they would talk on the phone but it wasn’t the same. The same thing with Maria…the only difference was Maria wasn’t shy or afraid in the least about showing up at her door unannounced or calling at three or four in the morning to talk while Ava was. She simply didn’t feel comfortable around Max and vice versa. An hour later, Isabel, Jesse, Diane, Phillip, Nancy, Amy, Sherriff Valenti, Maria, Michael, and the Kids were touring the house and moving furniture. Hours later, Kyle joined the party and then Ava. Liz couldn’t help but see the sparks that flew between Kyle and Ava. A couple of times, she actually caught them sneaking away.

Sprawled on the floor…playing with Mikhail as everyone ate their sandwiches and talked, Liz laughed. Maria’s youngest had grown so much in the past year. He was now walking and talking. Max watched Liz in awe and desire. Was she like that with Amelia and Alex? Would she be that way again? Max couldn’t wait to find out. He wanted her to have his baby…so badly that it made his heart ache. As Max watched Liz, Maria watched him with a small smile. The man was truly in-love with his wife and this made Maria want to jump for joy. They had been through so much with each other and without each other. Of course they would still have their up ands downs but she didn’t doubt for a moment that they couldn’t work through anything they set their minds to… together. Ah love was in the air she thought as she glanced over to Ava and Kyle whispering in each other’s ear.

Chapter 12:

Two weeks later, Alex sat in his room after a tiring day of chores. He hadn’t even had the chance to play outside. Man being grounded sucked he thought to himself. Things were so different now. Alex had to actually share his room with that the demon spawn sitting across the room. He so wanted to wake up from the nightmare that was his life. Sighing in boredom, he left the room to find Amelia in the living room sprawled out on the sofa watching Sponge Bob Square Pants. “Hey” He whispered sitting down on the couch beside her. “Hey…” Amelia responded distracted by what Patrick said before looking over at her brother suspiciously. “What are you doing?” “Just sitting down… talking to you.” He whispered, hoping that his mom and dad didn’t catch him. Amelia sat up straighter then. “I can see that…but you’re not supposed to be watching T.V.” “I’m not watching T.V…I’m talking to you.” This made Amelia grin. “Oh little brother…don’t delude yourself into thinking that you can pass one over on mom and dad. They’ll catch you…and I’ll probably laugh…that is if I don’t tell them myself.” Alex grimaced before giving his sister a pleading look. “Come on Amelia give me a break here… what do you want?”

At that moment, Liz walked into the living room to find Alex and Amelia whispering before the television. She shook her head in wonder before clearing her throat. “May I help you, Alex?” Hearing his mom’s voice, made Alex close his eyes and sigh. “No.” “Then I suggest you head somewhere else where the T.V is not on.” “But mom…I’m so bored!” He whined giving her a sad puppy dog look. This made Liz smile. “That hasn’t worked since you were three…so cut it out. Go read a book if you’re so bored.” She suggested guiding her son from the temptation of Sponge Bob Square Pants. Sighing Alex sulked into his room. Shaking her head, Liz went about starting dinner. Alex and Zan had been trying to get around their punishments for two weeks now. She had to admit that a few times she had almost caved. She didn’t know how they would do this for another two weeks. Max was swamped with cases that had piled up over the last three weeks. So the children and the household were basically left up to her at least until he came home. No matter how exhausted he looked, Max always managed to help out with the unfinished chores…to which Liz would be forever thankful for. She hadn’t felt this exhausted since Amelia and Alex were babies and she had still been working as a full time waitress.

An hour later, Amelia, Alex, Zan, and Liz sat around the table nibbling on their food in silence. “Can I be excused?” Zan muttered with a sigh. Liz looked up startled out of her thoughts. “You haven’t finished your vegetables?” “I don’t like these kinds of vegetables!” Zan stated as he scrunched up his face. “Well eat some of them and then you can be excused.” “I don’t want to!” “Zan!” She said in warning. “You know just because you’re married to my dad doesn’t mean that you can boss me around…I had one mom…I don’t need another one!” Zan stated angrily before running into his room and slamming the door. Liz sighed, rotating her neck around as she felt a headache coming on. “Mom?” Amelia whispered in worry. “Just eat your food, Amelia!” She replied, before leaving the table to go get some air out on the patio. Being on the receiving end of one of Zan’s tantrums wasn’t new to Liz but they still hurt her nevertheless. She had been his teacher for over eight months before Max proposed and she thought that they had been making progress. Times like these made her doubt if they had made any progress at all at being friends.

Amelia and Alex watched angrily as their mother left the table, sadness clouding her eyes. Every since they were born maybe before then, they had felt a protectiveness and a love for their mother that went beyond the normal emotions of a human child’s love. Getting up from the table, both Alex and Amelia made their way to Alex and Zan’s room. Not evening bothering to knock, they entered and found Zan crying into his pillow. Amelia instantly felt her anger melt away. “Hey Zan, what’s wrong? Don’t cry!” She said as she sat down beside her brother. “I’m not crying!” He muttered, hurriedly wiping his tears away with the back of his hand. Alex sat down on his bed and watched his brother and sister. Never once had he ever seen Zan cry. “Just leave me alone!” “We can’t Zan. It’s our jobs as your brother and sister to annoy you. You know you really hurt my mom’s feelings, Zan!”

“I know!” He whispered. “I didn’t mean too!” “I know you didn’t but my mom doesn’t know that. She’s a part of your family now, Zan. And no matter what…you never hurt your family!” Amelia whispered trying to make him understand. Silence reined as they all sat in the room…trying to come to turns with really being a family. Finally Zan whispered, “I don’t know why I said that. I like Liz but I really miss my mom!” “You wanna talk about her?” At that moment, Liz interrupted. “Alex, Amelia, Zan come scrap your plates and clean up the table.” “No not really!” Zan whispered in sadness before going into the eating area with Alex and Amelia not too far behind him. Taking their dishes into kitchen, they found Liz watching dishes. Silently, Zan went about cleaning up all the while sneaking glances at her. She wouldn’t look at him and that hurt probably as much as realizing that his mom was really gone.

Hours later, Liz sat out on the patio as she watched the stars. Max had just gotten home. Putting on a fake cheerful smile, she had given him his dinner, a kiss, and had told him that she would be out on the patio if he needed her. Max wasn’t stupid he knew something was wrong. Not even bothering to touch his food, he stepped out onto the patio to find her leaning against a pillar staring up at the stars. Taking her into his arms, Max sighed. “Do you wanna talk about it?” He asked feeling her sadness and hurting because of it. Liz shook her head as confusion and disappointment warred within her. “I don’t know. It’s nothing really. I just-just wish that he didn’t see me as a threat. Just when I think we’re getting somewhere…he pushes me away!” She whispered, with a small smile. “Do you want me to talk to him?” He asked, sighing, as he knew just who exactly they were talking about. “No…I just have to give him time!” “Are you sure?” “Yes!” Liz whispered with a small smile looking up into his concerned hazel eyes. “C’mon let’s go inside. I wanna know how your case went.” She suggested before grabbing his hand and leading him inside.

Hours later after having not being able to sleep, Liz found herself yet again on the patio staring up at the stars. Max had fallen asleep with his arms wrapped around her over an hour an ago. It was warm out side with the stars just shining down on her. Sighing deeply, she thought about what needed to be done tomorrow. Nothing[/b] Alex and Zan had done most of the chores. All she needed to do was fold a load of laundry and set sign some paper work for the up and coming school year. Her thoughts were interrupted as the glass door opened. Turning around, she found Zan in his night clothes watching her with a hint of sadness and guilt. “Everything okay?”

“I’m sorry for what I said!” He blurted out looking down at his slippers as he shuffled his feet. “There’s no reason to be sorry Zan…if that’s really how you feel!” Liz whispered, staring down at him in sadness. “But it’s not how I feel…I like you and you make my dad happy but…I just really want my mom!” He said softly tears filling his green eyes. “I know you do…do you wanna go visit her tomorrow?” Zan’s head jerked up as he stared at her in surprise. “Yeah!” “Well then…we’ll go first thing in the morning.” “Okay…are you still mad at me?” He asked biting his bottom lip. “No…are you still made at me?” Liz asked with a small smile. “No!” He replied returning her smile. “Well then go onto bed…if your dad catches you up you’re in for it.” She said ruffling his dark hair. “Okay…night Liz!” “Good night Zan!” Yawning, she headed to bed herself. Snuggling in beside Max’s hard body, Liz sighed, feeling as if she had just come off of a very dramatic roller coaster ride.

Chapter 13:

A month later, Liz, Amelia, Maria and the kids sat in the playground and watched as Max, Zan, Alex, and Michael played basketball. Sitting back, Liz sighed dreamily as she watched her husband’s muscles work. “God, you newlyweds make me sick sometimes…do you know that?” Maria laughed bumping her in the shoulders. “Yeah…I can see just from the scowl on your face. Like you said Max and I are still in our newly wed stage. I can’t help but to ogle my husband!” She responded with a dreamy smile as he caught her gaze and winked. “Admit it Maria…you and Michael were worse!” Maria sighed, remembering that time so long ago. “I hate to disappoint you Liz…but we weren’t. Our newly wedded bliss lasted over week and then we were back to snapping at each other!” “Wow…” Liz sighed sadden from this news. “Oh don’t be sad…enjoy this time while you can. Michael and I, despite the drama of three kids, are happily married. It just wouldn’t have been normal for us if our newly wedded bliss had lasted more then a week.” Maria laughed, played with Mikhail.

Liz looked at Maria and Mikhail with a little bit of envy in her blood. Despite just being married for over a month, she wanted that again. She wanted to experience that at least one more time with Max. Of course, she wasn’t trying to get pregnant or anything but the thought of having Max’s baby didn’t send her running for the hills either. Sighing wistfully, Liz went back to admiring Max’s body. That night, she lay in bed while watching the Discovery channel as Max took a shower. The few times that she and Max had actually fought over something they had almost destroyed one another. Over the past month, Liz was scared to say that they had no arguments…they hadn’t even bickered. Was that strange? Or was she worrying over nothing? Remembering back to when she had Max had been dating, Liz noticed that they rarely if ever argued and when they did argue it had destroyed them as a couple and as friends. Sighing in confusion and worry, she turned off the T.V. How would they cope as a married couple if they rarely if ever fought? Would they calmly work it out as she hoped they would when they did argue? Or would their marriage fall apart?

Her thoughts were interrupted as Max stepped out of the bathroom with a cloud of steam over his dark head, covered only in boxers. Giving her a smile full of promise for what was to come, he silently climbed into bed beside her. All the while staring into her eyes, his smile of promise faded as he took in her confusion and worry. “What’s wrong?” “Have you ever noticed, Max, that we never argue or even bicker?” Sitting up, Max sighed with a teasing smile. “Been talking to Maria again?” Letting out a short laugh, Liz punched in the arm in retribution before sitting up as well. “Jerk…Yes but seriously!” “I’ve noticed…” “And you are not the least bit worried? Times when we’ve argued…it nearly tore us apart…no correction…it did tear us apart!” Liz whispered while looking up into his eyes. “It worries me a little…but we’ve come a long way Liz from the scared teenagers running for our lives. Now that we’re married…I’m more willing than ever not to lose you again. As long as we trust each other and have faith in what we have…I believe that we can get through anything. Do you thrust me, Liz? Do you thrust us?”

“Yes!” She answered without hesitation, before straddling him. “Then don’t worry, okay? We’ll be fine!” Max whispered against her lips, before kissing her tenderly. That night, they feel asleep in each other’s arms after having made slow tender love, exploding with one another afterwards. Liz slept deeply as she dreamt that she was in the school yard, on a beautiful day, during recess. Students surrounded her, playing and running. It was a sunny day outside as her hair blew with the wind. Suddenly she caught sight of Alex playing a distance away with Amelia. Taking the steps to close the distance between them, Liz watched as her son looked up towards the end of the school yard where a blonde man stood leaning against the gate. She knew him she realized. If only she could see his face. But she didn’t have to…Liz knew he was evil. Kivar her soul cried out. Screaming wildly, she watched as Alex ran to him in a daze before suddenly disappearing.

Moaning and crying in her sleep, Liz tossed and turned as she was assailed with another dream. She exited the school looking wildly around her as she hurridly made it to her car where Max stood waiting. Giving him a grateful smile in return, she hopped in with him beside her. They drove for some distance before Liz got the distinct feeling something wasn’t right. Sneaking a look at Max, she caught him watching her with an eerie look. “Max?” She asked in suspicion as she came to a stop sign. “Shhh Latanya...everything will be okay!” Max whispered while transforming into Kivar before using his powers to make her go unconscious. Suddenly she was jerked awake as Max called out her name, shaking her awake gently. “Liz? What’s wrong?” He asked as he looked down into eyes that were filled with terror. Trying to catch her breath, she whispered, “He’s alive…” “Who?” “Kivar!” “Liz, he’s dead. We saw him drive off the cliff!” Max whispered without conviction. “Is he really? Because I just had premonition, Max, that says otherwise. He’s alive and he’s coming for us!”

Hours later, Liz stood making coffee as Max watched her with an intense concern shadowing his eyes. While waiting for the coffee to get done, she watched as Michael paced the small confines of her kitchen. “It could just be a bad dream, Liz.” Isabel sighed unconvincingly. “It wasn’t…My premonitions have a different, I guess, feel to them. I can’t explain it exactly!” She sighed pulling out four mugs. “What exactly did you see?” Ava asked from the doorway to the kitchen. “We were in the school yard. It was recess and he was standing at one of the gates waiting. Alex was playing and all of sudden it seemed as if he were in some kind of daze. He ran to Kivar…and disappeared right before my eyes. I tried to run after to him but it was as if the other students were trying to drive me back. Then there was another premonition of me…I was suddenly walking out of the school towards my car and Max was there. I didn’t think anything of it until I was in the car and it was too late. He knocked me out and that was it!” Liz shrugged trying to appear calm as terror ran through her veins and tears clouded her vision.

“This happened in the school yard…in the bright light of day with witnesses?” Michael groaned, running a head through his short hair. “Yeah…when does school began?” Ava asked. “In two weeks!” Max answered, all the while watching his wife with alarm and an intense fear. “Two weeks to get all of our ducks in a row!” Michael sighed as Liz handed him a cup of coffee. “What do you want to do?” Isabel asked looking between Max and Liz. “We stay alert… stick together at all times. Never stay in a room with only one of us. If we know Kivar he’ll try to impersonate one of us. When school starts we will keep an eye on Liz, Alex, and the school yard together as a group. Liz, will it be okay if Michael drives with you to and from school?”

Liz’s eyes went to Michael. “Sure as long he wants to?” “Michael?” Max asked pleadingly. “Sure why not? Maria would kill me if I didn’t!” Michael answered with a shrug. “God I can’t believe this is happening?” Isabel sighed. “Me neither. Although it was always in the back of my mind that he could’ve survived but damn I was hoping he hadn’t!” Michael muttered angrily. “I think it was in the back of all off our minds that he could still be alive but we just never wanted to face it!” Max sighed regret filling his voice as he contemplated the future while watching Liz try to stay calm. An hour later after everyone had left, Liz sat curled up on the sofa as she listened to Max and the kids’ chatter coming from the kitchen. He had decided to stay home today to Liz’s relief. Just with everything that was going on she couldn’t see herself trying to handle household chores and the kids today by herself. Hours after the premonition, she still felt drained and worn out. That was another thing that scared her…she was never this tired after a premonition.

Later on that day, eyes with an intensity to kill watched as the small handsome family sat on the porch watching the sun set. How quaint the individual thought. Everything was set in motion. Let them have their time together, the dark presence thought as he watched the couple kiss passionately, because soon it would all end and they’d get just what they deserved. Anger boiled up into soulless eyes as he watched them with a deadly intent. He intended to make them pay slowly and painfully…especially the former king of Antar. Soon… very soon, he would get what he had set out to accomplish. Starting the car, he drove off slowly as to not gain their attention. He had a date in LA with a certain blonde. She wasn’t what he wanted but for now she would do. Soon very soon, they would all regret the day they had ever crossed him.

Chapter 14
Two Weeks Later

In the privacy of her bathroom, Liz sat frozen…. consumed with fear, excitement, and shock as she looked down at the stick’s test results. This was her fourth pregnancy test and it told her the same thing the first one had. She was pregnant. She was pregnant. Liz repeated silently to herself as it finally registered. It shouldn’t have been a surprise since there was no such thing as birth control pills and condoms when it came to her and Max making love. She figured Max wanted more kids and so did she…so why worry about it. But now she was worried because not only was she pregnant by an alien…but she was an alien herself and then there was also the possibility that Kivar was out there somewhere at that very moment plotting their deaths. Oh yeah and lets not forget the fact that first thing tomorrow morning she had thirty eight year olds to teach. So this really wasn’t a very good time to have another baby. Sighing, Liz took a deep breath before looking at the bright side of things…she was pregnant. She was having another baby…Max’s baby and they were together.

Pushing herself up off the closed toilet seat, she threw the stick away before washing her hands. The kids were in the living room with Max watching Courage the Cowardly Dog. She swore that their TV was permanently set to cartoon network. She had to figure out how she was going to tell Max and when. Liz was suddenly overwhelmed with so many emotions that she had to grip the sink to steady her self from fainting. Seconds later, she exited the bathroom and bedroom to join Max and the kids. Liz decided that she would tell him later when they went to bed…giving her more time to get use to the thought of being pregnant again. She smiled softly as she stood in the doorway…watching as Max, Zan, Alex, and Amelia laughed and teased each other while watching T.V. As if feeling her gaze, Max looked up to find her watching them. Getting up as quietly as possible, he made his way over to her, his intense gaze questioning. “What’s wrong?” “Nothing…everything’s fine!” Liz whispered meeting his gaze head on with a smile of promise. “Are you sure?” Max asked softly concern and fear clouding his eyes. “I’m positive…now what would you like for dinner?” Liz asked changing the subject as she moved towards the kitchen. “You!” He replied grinning mischievously, while looking her up and down slowly….his hazel brown eyes clouding in desire as he sat down at the kitchen table to watch her.

“Sorry Mr. Evans but I’m not on the menu… but if you are a good boy and eat all your dinner I just might let you have some of me tonight for dessert!” She finished straddling his hard thighs and arousal while making him groan in agony. “I just might have to take you up on that offer Mrs. Evans!” Max whispered against her lips. “Oh yeah?” “Oh yeah!” He murmured before meeting her for a kiss so hot and erotic that he shook with the need to have her. “Oh get a room you guys!” Amelia muttered in frustration reminding them of where they were. Leaning back while still straddling her husband, Liz grinned down at him before looking over to their daughter. “Sorry baby…how long have you been standing there?” “Not long…thank God…do you want me to go blind because if you guys keep on doing that in front of me…that’s what will happen!” Amelia stated while making her way to the refrigerator rolling her eyes. Sighing, Liz met Max’s eyes. “Tonight Mr. Evans…you and me?” She asked, giving him a small peck on the lips. “You and me!” Max whispered in longing before giving her a peck against the lips. “Aww please…I’m going deaf as well as blind!” Amelia cried out while hurrying out of the kitchen. Max and Liz looked at each other before bursting out in laughter.

Later that night they made slow tender love. Max lay cradled between Liz’s legs as he buried his face in the crook of her neck. Still hard and throbbing, he drove into her slowly as she came around him. Listening to Liz’s cries of ecstasy, Max continued to fight for control. He was so close and she was milking and caressing him for all it was worth. He couldn’t take it anymore. Tenderly grabbing her arms where they rested around his neck, he laid them out above her head before pumping into her hard…prolonging her ecstasy. Liz’s cries of pleasure became louder as Max continued to make love to her. The headboard thudded against the wall at their fevered pace. Growling and crying out at the feel of her clinching and coming around him, Max closed his eyes in bliss as he exploded with in her. Seconds later, he lowered himself into her embrace as they continued to shudder and convulse in orgasmic pleasure. Minutes later, Liz lay within Max’s arms relaxing as he snuggled up behind her. “Max?” “Hmmm?” She hesitated long enough for Max to be worried. “Liz?” “I- what do you think about having more kids?” Sitting up to lean against their headboard, Max looked down at her in confusion as she turned over to stare up at him. “What-what do I think about having more kids? Sure…I would love to. Liz- baby are you pregnant?”

“Would it make you happy if I said yes?” Liz asked as she sat up beside him leaning against the headboard…all the while staring up into his eyes. “Yes…it would! Are you?” Max asked hope and fear evident in his voice. “Yes, Max, I’m pregnant!” She answered, grinning with tears clouding her eyes. Letting out a deep breath in relief, he grinned as he moved his hand under the sheet onto her smooth belly. “Oh God, Liz! You’re pregnant…We’re going to have a baby!” Max whispered in awe and fear as he stared down at her flat stomach before meeting her eyes once again. Tears leaked from the corner of Liz eyes as she watched him scoot down in bed to lay his head on her tummy. “Hey… can you hear me in there? This is your daddy…we love you so much baby and you aren’t even here yet!” Max whispered in wonder into her stomach before putting his ear there as if listening to what ever the baby was saying. “Max? He can’t hear you!” Liz giggled as his dark hair tickled her stomach. “He? How long have you known anyway?” Max asked looking up into her eyes. “I’ve had a inkling that something was happening inside of me for maybe two weeks but it was confirmed this morning. I was so excited and scared that I decided to tell you tonight…where we would have a little privacy!”

“Liz…are you happy?” Max asked as panic and concern clouded his hazel brown eyes. “Of course I’m happy, Max! I’m just a little afraid right now…with school starting tomorrow and Kivar out there somewhere …plotting our deaths!” She answered with a wary smile as she looked down into her husband’s eyes. Sitting up, Max came to lie down beside her. “Come here!” He whispered while gently pulling her into his arms. “Do you feel okay? Do you need anything…water, ginger ale, crackers?” Liz laughed softly. “No…just hold me Max…all I need is for you to hold me for a little and everything will be okay!” She replied yawning. Minutes later, Liz was sound asleep. Max continued to lay awake in excitement and dread. Tomorrow was the first day of school. Fear consumed him as he realized what that meant. Any other day he would welcome going to battle with Kivar but not today…not when all of their lives were being held in the balance…not when death waited for them at the slightest mistake or miscalculation. Kivar held the monopoly to their lives and Max dreaded that he may very well win this round. Max couldn’t afford for that to happen.

Viva Las Vegas, Nevada
The Four Square Hotel & Casino

He stared out at the horizon as the sun came into view with a smile. Today was a new start towards ending a war that had lasted for far too long…if he even considered it a war. It was more like an execution with style. Today, his plans would go into effect. Kivar had waited too long to let things go unorganized now. He predicted that everything would go as he planned in the following months to come as long as he kept that tart in his bed under control which would be more than easy. She only wanted one thing and as long as she thought she was going to get it…she would do whatever he said. Speaking of Vilandra…it was time to get started. Entering the The Four Square Executive Suite in swift strides, Kivar smacked her bare bottom in high spirits. “What the fu…” His green eyes flashed with irritation at being in the company of someone so vulgar. It such a relief to him that he would get to kill her after everything was said and done. “Watch it Princess it’s time!” She smiled realizing what day it was. “Go take a shower and then our plans will begin!” He said with a small smile before leaving her to get ready.

Roswell, New Mexico

That night after a long day of watching their backs while trying to go about their normal everyday routine, Liz and Max sat in silence as they watched Alex, Zan, and Amelia digest the fact that they were going to have a brother or a sister. As usual, Amelia was the first one to react. She jumped up for joy hugging her mom and dad before doing a little jig that she going to have a sister. “Amelia…we don’t know yet if it’s a boy or a girl…we probably won’t know until he or she is here!” Liz stated with a soft laugh. “It has to be a girl…to even things out. It just wouldn’t be fair if it was a boy… it would be three to one!” Amelia replied indignation before plopping down beside her mother. “I know and I understand baby but it’s out of our hands…whether it’s a girl or a boy…you’ll love you’re brother or sister regardless, right?” Liz asked putting an arm around Amelia. “Right!” Amelia muttered with a small smile.

Max watched Liz and Amelia while waiting for Alex and Zan’s reaction to their news. Alex was not one to disappoint. “So I’m not going to be the youngest anymore…cool!” “That’s right…you’re going to be a big brother!” Liz smiled before turning to look at Zan for his reaction. Remaining silent…his face blank of emotion, Zan quietly went to his room…ignoring his dad’s quiet plea of worry. Concern and confusion filled Liz as she watched Zan leave. Her gaze turned Max, who had got up to follow him. Sighing, she decided to focus on Amelia and Alex’s questions while Max talked to Zan. Knocking on his son’s bedroom door, Max entered without permission. He found Zan laying in bed on his stomach…his face facing the wall. Max sighed before sitting next to Zan at the foot of his bed. “You okay buddy?” Zan continued to remain silent ignoring his dad’s question.

“Talk to me! Don’t shut me out okay?” Max asked with a tired sigh. Moments passed before Zan finally turned over on his back. “Please tell me what’s wrong, Zan!” “Everything…it’s bad enough I have to compete with Amelia, Alex, and Liz for your attention but now I also I have to compete with a baby too…This totally sucks…I wish it were just you and me…like it was before!” Zan answered quietly staring up at the ceiling. “Listen to me, Zan…are you listening?” “Yes!” “Good because I need you to listen real closely to what I’m about to say to you! Liz is my wife…I love her with every fiber of my being. Amelia and Alex are my children… I love them and I hate the fact I’ve missed out on so much in their lives. But you…you are my son! You don’t have to ever worry about having to compete for my attention because it goes around equally! You will never have all of my attention like before but you need to know that as long as I’m your father…I’ll always love you and be there for you!” Zan bit his lip as tears gathered in his eyes. “Even when the baby comes?” “Even when the baby comes! Now come here and give me a hug!” Max commanded sternly. Obeying his father, he gave him a hug. “I love you dad!” “I love you too, Zan!”

Three Months Later

It had been three months since she had a premonition. Three months since she found out she was pregnant. Liz sighed realizing three months felt like an eternity when someone lived in fear. And that’s exactly what she was doing…living in fear. She was too afraid to be happy…too afraid to let her guard down for something bad happening. For the first two months of school both she and Alex had been watched like hawks. Max, Michael, Isabel, Kyle, and Ava stood like guards around the school playground for eight weeks straight until the teachers started to complain about them scaring the kids. To the teachers’ frustration and annoyance, they continued to patrol around the school yard.

The only reason that they weren’t arrested on the spot is because Liz and Isabel were teachers there and Max’s mother had connections with the school board. Max never let her or any of the kids out of his sight unless they were in the house. He had even tried to convince her to stay home until Kivar made his move. But Liz had refused to be a prisoner in her home…so she continued to have four or five bodyguards, as they like to call themselves, waiting and watching every move she or Alex made. It was unnerving but necessary. She knew she was being stubborn and selfish…refusing to stay home for all of their sakes but she couldn’t sit in the house for the rest of her life waiting for Kivar to kill them…and she refused to make Alex a prisoner of fear too.

Her premonitions were never wrong and she had even more reason to be wary today…because today Michael wasn’t here to help them to Max and Maria’s fury. Liz understood though and even felt guilty for putting him in this situation. He had received a phone call about a week ago from a very popular artist who wanted to post their paintings in his gallery. They had a meeting today…of all days and it would have been stupid of Michael to pass up the commission and opportunity for new clients. So to everyone’s shock and anger Liz had encouraged him to go. Now it was the end of the day and all she had to do was get home to Amelia, Alex, and Zan. Ava and Kyle had picked up the kids after school and had taken them home where Ava was watching them at that very moment.

“Psst Liz…you ready?” Isabel asked poking her head in through the doorway of her classroom. “Uh yeah…let me just grab my things!” Liz answered distracted. Shaking herself out of her thoughts, she packed up her things before following Isabel out of the school building. As she always did when she stepped outside, Liz looked around for anything suspicious or dangerous. Not finding anything, she focused on getting to her car…to Max. “Listen I’m gonna follow you two in my car…Jesse coming home early tonight and I want to make him dinner.” Isabel stated to Liz’s confusion before walking off. Isabel always rode with them home before getting a ride from Max back to her car…from there Max then followed her home. Before she could say anything Isabel was getting into her car. Shaking herself out of her confusion, Liz made her way to her car to find Max waiting for her. She gave him a grateful smile as he opened the door for her before sliding in. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, Liz watched as Max started the engine before driving out of the parking lot.

They drove some distance before Liz got uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach. “Max you just missed our turn!” She looked wildly out the window to find them moving farther and farther away from home. Sneaking a look at Max, Liz caught him watching her with an eerie look in his eyes. “Max?” She asked in suspicion as they came to a stop sign. “Shhh Latanya...everything will be okay!” Max whispered while transforming into Kivar before using his powers to make her go unconscious. Kivar smiled before transforming into himself again. Everything was going exactly as planned. He had Vilandra and the boy and soon he would kill Zan. Sweet, beautiful Latanya…too bad she would have to die to in order for him to achieve his goal. Back at the school yard, Max was shaken awake furiously. Groaning, he opened his eyes to see four Ava’s. “Max? Wake up dammit…they took Alex and Liz…Wake up!” Gritting his teeth against the pain in the back of his head, he sat up to look around in a wild panic.

“C’mon Max…we have to go after them!” Pushing himself up off his feet with Ava’s help, Max made his way over to his pickup truck as fast he could with Ava right behind him. “Did you see what happened?” Max asked climbing into his truck before starting the engine. “Not really…all I saw was a bat coming at my head and I think Isabel was holding it!” Max looked over to Ava as he sped out of the parking lot. “That can’t be right…” He gritted out as he was consumed with confusion, rage, and terror. “I don’t know where they went…I don’t where the hell they went!” Max said in a rage as he slammed a fist into the wheel. “Just calm down, Max!” “Calm down? Are you fucking crazy?” Just as Ava was about to go off…Max’s cell phone rang.

Fumbling with his cell, Max cried out in frustration before answering it. “Liz?” “Hello Zan…missed me?” A deep voice answered with a chuckle. “Where are you? If you touch one hair on their heads…” “You’ll what? There is a reason why you are the former king of Antar and that reason is because I killed you…just like I’m going to do again…only this time you’re going to stay dead. You wanna know where your wife, sister, and son is…wanna see them alive again then I suggest you be nice Zan and follow my instructions. You know where The Solarian is right? Well that’s where you’ll find us and Zan don’t forget to bring your Second-In-Command because you’ll definitely need him!” Max sat frozen in terror as he listened to his cell phone disconnect. Taking a deep breath, Max called Michael before driving out into the desert where Kivar awaited him.

Chapter 15

Liz moaned softly as she awakened to a throbbing head ache. Looking around she found that she was in a large storage facility that held a very large spaceship. Gasping in panic and confusion, she found herself lying in a fetal position on what seemed like the second floor…that wrapped around the interior of the building. Sitting up slowly she found that her hands were tied behind her back and that her feet were bound together. “Mom!” A voice cried out as he was led to the other side of the storage facility. She cried out in rage behind the gag as she watched Kivar drop Alex to the floor. Liz watched as Alex sobbed uncontrollably…saw the terror in his eyes and started struggling with her binds. Trying not to panic at the fear in his eyes, Liz tried to get loose of the bindings…but they were too strong. She had to stay calm. Where were they? Liz watched in fury as Kivar stuffed a sock into her son’s mouth brutally.

Oh god! What was she going to do? Where was Max? Taking a deep breath, Liz tried to find away to get them out of their alive. But she couldn’t think of anything. Looking around, she spotted two doors…one to her left and one to her right. After struggling to crawl to the door, Liz scooted her way to the exit on her right before climbing to her knees. Facing away from the door, Liz jiggled the knob to find that it was locked. For some reason, the bindings hampered her powers. She tried to use her powers to unlock the door but it didn’t work. Sighing, Liz groaned as she realized there was no way she could escape with Alex unless someone untied her hands and feet. So there was nothing to do but just wait and hope to god that Max and the others got here soon. Leaning her weight against the wall behind her, Liz used her powers to communicate telepathically to Alex. “Alex? Are you okay?" He met her eyes across the distance in terror. "No…I’m so scared, mommy! Why is he doing this?" Alex whispered as he met her eyes across the distance. “I don’t know, baby!” He struggled against the bindings cutting into his wrists for a few seconds before giving up in frustration. Alex leaned against the wall before asking his mother the one question that had been haunting him every since Aunt Isabel hit Uncle Kyle in the head with a bat. "Mom….are we going to die?"

Back At The The Solarian:

Pacing around The Solarian five seconds after arriving, Max tried to think of where Kivar would take them. Tugging at his hair and sucking in a breath of panic, he came up with nothing. “What should we do?” Ava whispered in desperation…fear evident in her voice. “I don’t know! He could’ve taken them anywhere!” Max cried out frustration before swiftly exiting the cave… needing air. He couldn’t think straight. Unintentionally Max kept on imagining every possible way Kivar could hurt Liz and Alex…and he wanted to destroy something or someone in frustration and fear … that someone preferably being Kivar. Just as he stepped outside the cave, with Ava right behind him, Max watched as Michael pulled his car up with Serena Deluca sitting in the passenger seat beside him. Max frowned at her presence before turning his attention to Michael as he climbed out of his door. “What is she doing here?” “She’s one of us…and she knows where they are!” Max’s eyes grew thunderous as he turned his gaze to Serena. “You know where Liz and Alex are?” “If I know Kivar the way I think I do then he’s preparing to leave Earth. His ship is hidden in a storage facility a few miles away….If you let me I can take you to them!” Max nodded his head toward his pickup truck, distrust evident in his eyes. “Then let’s go!” “Max, isn’t that Isabel’s car?” Michael called out with a frown of confusion as they watched a car slowing down to a stop in front of them… the driver who looked remarkably like Isabel wagging her fingers in greeting mockingly at them before speeding off down the road.

“That wasn’t Isabel!” Ava whispered while making her way to Michael’s car. Max frowned even more as he jumped into his pickup truck, not having missed Ava’s words, before starting the engine just as Serena climbed in beside him. He took off down the road with Michael right behind him. Navigating the desert road while keeping his eyes on the car in front of him, Max addressed the woman beside him. “Before anything happens I need to know that we can trust you? That you’re not working for Kivar!” “You can trust me! Believe me I would never do anything to harm Latanya or Alex and as for working for Kivar that could never happen!” Changing gears, Max sped along the road. “Why could that never happen? What relationship do you have to my wife?” “Liz was my best friend on Antar…we might not have the same relationship now but I could never hurt her. I want Kivar dead just as much as you do…He has taken everything from me…He forced me to become his mistress in exchange for my parents’ lives…After he got tired of using me…he was going to kill me. I couldn’t let that happen… Langely helped me escape. The only thing that Kivar ever did for me besides torture me…was give me my daughter…But that is not enough for me to let him live!” Serena whispered with tears in her eyes.

Max nodded slowly while trying to navigate the road and register her words. “Why didn’t you tell us when we first met you?” “No offense but you guys got the alien abyss written all over you. I just want to live a normal life…away from him…away from the memories. I’m happy…my baby is happy and safe…and I would like to keep it that way…but in order for that to happen…Kivar needs to die!” She stated meeting his eyes in earnest. Nodding in understanding, Max saw a tall abandoned brick building in the distance. He watched as Isabel’s car was pulled to a stop before Lonnie jumped out and ran into the building. Putting pressure on the gas, Max sped toward the building like a bat out of hell. Slamming the pickup a stop, he jumped out just as Michael pulled up behind him. He made quick, long strides over to the building before he felt someone grab his arm. Frowning angrily, Max looked back to meet Serena’s gaze. “I know you have every right to feel the way you do, Max, but you need to get yourself together or else we are all as good as dead! They are expecting us to barge through that door…we need a plan, Max, if we are going to get out of their alive!” She said quietly. Taking a deep breath, Max nodded in understanding. He knew she was right but the longer they sat out here twiddling their thumbs…the longer Liz and Alex remained with Kivar. Silently beckoning Michael and Ava forward, he went about formulating a plan.

Ten minutes later, Max and Michael entered the storage facility in determination. “Welcome Zan…took you long enough. I was beginning to think you got lost!” Kivar called out smugly from the building’s second floor. Standing in the center of the first floor, he looked up to find Liz bond and gagged with Kivar standing right beside her. In the back of his mind, Max registered that there was no railing to keep someone from falling off the second floor to their death. His expression was thunderous as he looked over to the other side of the building to find Lonnie holding a struggling Alex at the edge of the second floor. He held his breath in rage and terror as he turned to watch Kivar pull Liz roughly to her feet…holding a wicked looking knife against her beautiful neck. Max swallowed hard as he realized what Kivar planned to do. Before stepping forward in terror, Max felt Michael hand pull him back. “Think about it, Max, he needs Alex…he doesn’t need Liz!” “I always knew you were weak, Zan! But I’m going to be nice and give you a choice…your son or your wife? Which one are you willing to save?” Kivar asked with a small chuckle. Max watched as Serena came silently through the door to Kivar’s left. He watched with a small smile of satisfaction as he watched Serena tap Kivar on the shoulder to get his attention before wielding her bat into his face.

It all went so fast…Serena hit Kivar making him bump into Liz. Max’s life instantly flashed before his eyes. He cried out in rage as he watched Kivar and Liz fall off the ledge. Running toward them, he used his powers to put up his shield inches from the floor to catch Liz. Just as she hit the floor, Max ran over to cradle her in his arms. Tears leaking from his eyes, he pulled the gag from her mouth gently before helping her to untie her hands and feet. Max sighed as he leaned his head against hers in relief closing his eyes…as if suddenly remembering Alex. He looked up to find that Michael had untied him and was carrying him down the steps. Helping Liz to stand up, they both turned around to see if Alex was okay to find Kivar lying dead at their feet. It seemed as though Kivar fell a few inches short of Max’s shield and had broke his neck. Holding Liz tightly against his side, Max stared down at his enemy’s body in exhaustion and relief. “It’s finally over!” Liz looked up into his eyes with a small smile of relief before giving him a tight hug…while slowly leading him toward Alex and Michael. “You guys okay?” Michael asked in concern as he let Alex down. Alex immediately ran into Liz’s arms. “Yeah I think so…” “I’m gonna go check the ship for Izzy!” Not being able to leave Liz, Max looked down at his wife and son and tried to control the pounding of his heart. He had almost lost them. Suddenly remembering Lonnie and Ava, he looked up to find Ava standing over an unconscious blonde.

Liz sighed in relief as she held Alex. She had been seconds away from dying…seconds away from losing her son. Alex cried silently with his arms wrapped around her waist as she stroked his dark hair…whispering soothingly. As if feeling a presence other than her own and Max’s, Liz looked up to meet the eyes of Serena Deluca. Eyes widening in shock, Liz gave Max a questioning look. “I’ll explain it all later…I promise! God Liz, I almost lost you!” He whispered in anguish, as he once again leaned his forehead against hers before giving her a soft kiss. “But you didn’t…It’s over and we’re all still standing!” Liz whispered against his soft firm lips. Suddenly Max heard Isabel behind him…crying out his name. She limped into his arms…tears in her eyes. “Oh Max…I was so scared! Is everyone okay?” Isabel whispered giving Max a tight hug before meeting everyone’s eyes. “I think so…let’s get out of here!” He said with a tired smile before silently pulling Liz into his arms again. As they exited the small factory, Alex grabbed his other hand before giving him a small smile. Walking to the pickup, Liz looked up to meet Max’s eyes before quietly asking, “What’s going to happen to their bodies, Max? You can’t just leave it their bodies there for the FBI to find!” “Don’t worry…we’ll come back later and bury them but for right now I just want to get you home safe and sound!”

Twenty minutes later, they all entered Max and Liz’s home in exhaustion. Ava cried out as her eyes landed on Kyle sitting on the sofa with an ice-pack to the back of his head. Liz smiled tiredly at the couple before greeting Amelia, Zan, Annabelle, Mikhail, Alexa, and Maria with hugs. She was so tired and relieved that she was alive and at home with her family. After reassuring everyone that she was fine, she collapsed on the other sofa with Max and Alex at her side. Kyle sighed in exhaustion as he stared into Ava’s concern filled eyes. “Are you okay?” “Never better!” “Are you sure?” “Yeah…I love you, Ava!” Kyle whispered in sincerity. “I love you too yo!” Ava said with a small smile of promise. “How much?” “Too much?” “Enough to marry me?” Ava’s eyes went wide with shock as she stared into his eyes. “Are you serious, yo?” “As a heartbeat…listen you don’t have to say yes now…but just think about it!” Ava laughed softly. “I’ve already thought about it…and if you’re serious? Then yes I’ll marry you, Kyle!” She kissed him softly against the lips…her eyes glittering with happiness and tears. “Now where’s my ring?” “It’s still at the jewelry store!” Ava pulled back to look into his eyes to see if he was serious. “Kidding it’s in my back pocket. It’s been burning a whole in my pocket for over a week!” Kyle laughed softly while digging in his back pocket. Pulling out a small leather box, he opened it to show her before grabbing her left hand. Ava started crying silently as he put a beautiful three stoned diamond ring on her finger.

Liz watched the scene in happiness for her friends as she laid her head on Max’s shoulder. His arm lay around her shoulder as he inhaled her scent before watching the scene play out before him. There wasn’t a soul in the room who wasn’t a witness to Kyle asking Ava to marry him even Maria had made her way into the living room with Michael standing behind her holding Mikhail. Suddenly everyone started clapping with huge grins of joy on their faces as they watched Kyle and Ava kiss. Later that night, Max tucked Liz into bed while telling her the news about Serena. Michael was waiting down stairs so that they could head back into the desert to bury the bodies. “Does Sean know?” “I doubt it!” “Maybe I should go visit her sometime!” Liz whispered, yawning. “Go to sleep, Liz. I’ll be back soon!” Just as he was starting to stand up, Liz grabbed his hand…fear evident in her eyes. “Max, be careful okay? I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you!” “I’ll be careful…. I promise!” Max said softly, before bending down to give her a soft kiss against the lips. “Now get some sleep!” He said with a small smile before leaving their bedroom. Liz didn’t get any sleep that night as she waited up for Max to get home. She paced the living room stepping over the sleeping bodies of Maria and the kids until she heard the door unlock. Looking up she met Max’s wary gaze. He was sweaty…covered with sand and dirt. She had never loved him more. Liz stood rooted to the spot as he walked over to her… grabbing her hand before leading her to their bedroom.

Epilogue
Five Months Later

Exhausted to the bone after having just come home from Kyle and Ava’s wedding reception, Liz climbed into bed beside Max. She was eight months pregnant and so ready to have her baby. She sighed laying on her back as she tried to get comfortable before looking up to meet her husband’s golden brown eyes. His eyes spoke volumes of what he felt for her. Scooting down in bed beside her, Max laid his palm on her protruding stomach lovingly while connecting with their baby. As if feeling his or her father’s touch, the baby moved. Liz suddenly tensed as she felt the baby move against her bladder. “Liz?” Max whispered concern. “I have to pee!” Liz whispered before struggling to get up. “Wait…let me help you!” “I can’t wait, Max, I gotta go now!” Liz cried out, rolling off the bed. He got to her in time to help her stand up. As she was standing up, Liz felt a sharp pain hit her…making her gasp intensity before she felt a soft pop signaling that it was time. She stood frozen as water and mucus ran down her legs. “Liz… are you okay?” Max asked his voice betraying his terror that something was wrong. Liz’s eyes widened as she met his before she let out a soft laugh. “I hope so…my water just broke!”

Max’s eyes widened as well as he got the gist of her words. “Are you hurting? What do you need me to do?” He asked in a panic. “First and foremost I need you to call Maria and Isabel while I take a shower!” Liz said calmly as she headed to the bathroom. ”Why are you so calm about this?” Max asked as he watched her enter the bathroom. “Because I’m not in pain…but in a few hours…that might change!” Liz grinned before closing the door behind her. Not wanting to leave the bathroom incase Liz needed him, Max called Maria and Isabel. Fifteen minutes later, Max left Liz sitting on the side of the bed to answer the door for Maria. “How’s she doing?” Maria asked in greeting as she headed back to his bedroom. “Amazingly well actually!” Max muttered while running a hand through his hair. “Don’t worry, Max! Everything will go just fine….just don’t faint okay?” She asked with a teasing wink before greeting Liz. “Hey Chica…ready to have my niece or nephew?” “8 months ready!” She smiled before wincing at as another contraction ran through her. “Where’s Isabel?” Maria asked, her green eyes alert. “She’s on her way.” Suddenly they heard a knock at the front door. “That should be her right now.” Max whispered to himself as he quickly made his way to the door. “You know if Liz weren’t in labor right now I would kill you for waking me up at 2am in the morning!” Isabel greeted while stepping into his house. Max just sighed with a small smile. Isabel noticed this. “How ya doing little brother?” “Not good!” Max sighed looking toward his bedroom. “If anything happens to her…” “Nothing’s going to happen to her, Max. Liz has given birth to twins…She’ll be fine!” Isabel said with a small smile of confidence before making her way back to her brother and sister-in-law’s bedroom

An hour later, Liz sobbed in agony as she fell back against her pillows. Another contraction hit her hard as she squeezed Isabel’s hand painfully…making her wince. “I want Max!” Liz whispered as Maria instructed her to push. “I thought you screamed that you didn’t want to lay eyes on him ever again!” Isabel grimaced as Liz squeezed her hand harder before giving her a look that could kill. “I want Max…get him!” She gritted out. “Push Liz….c’mon babe!” Maria instructed giving Isabel a small smile. Isabel just sighed before going to get Max. She didn’t have to go far because he was pacing right outside the door. “Max…please get in here before Liz does the exorcist on us!” Isabel hissed as Max gave her reproachful frown before following her into the room. “Liz?” He asked worry evident in his voice as he watched the love of his life give birth to his child “Max…climb in behind her for support!” Maria instructed. Liz lay against her pillows taking deep breaths…she smiled when she heard Max’s voice. Doing as he was instructed he climbed in behind Liz. She smiled softly as she looked up into his eyes. “I’m sorry for kicking you out!” “I think I deserved it!” “No you didn’t…Max. I’m so scared…” Another contraction took over her…making her scream in pain as she arched her back. “Push, Liz!” Maria cried out as she saw the baby’s head. Gripping Max’s hands, Liz pushed as hard as she could.

Twenty minutes later, Maria cut the umbilical cord of a screeching beautiful baby girl. Grinning like an idiot, Max met Liz’s eyes that were full of exhaustion and excitement as she laid slumped back against her pillows. “So do you guys have a name yet?” Isabel asked as she used her powers to clean up Liz’s birthing process. “Here ya go, dad!” Maria whispered as she finished cleaning up her niece to hand her over to her daddy. “Yup… Nadia Sanura Evans!” Liz answered as she watched as Max cradled their daughter. From what Liz could see she was small with a head full of dark curls. Meeting his wife’s eyes, Max walked slowly over to where she lay to hand her their daughter. Liz grinned as she stared down into Nadia’s eyes. She was so alert as she suckled her small fist. Max was overwhelmed with emotion as he watched Liz with Nadia. “I like that…Nadia…that is so pretty!” Maria stated smiling softly. Isabel sighed as she watched Max and Liz with Nadia. Pretty soon she and Jesse would have a child of their own…seven months soon that is. Suddenly the quiet of the room was interrupted by a small knock. “The kids are up, guys!” Isabel announced as she opened the door to a worried Amelia, Alex, and Zan. “C’mon in guys and meet your baby sister!” Maria smiled, ushering them in as she left the room with Isabel to give them some privacy.

Hours after having breast fed Nadia and washing up due to Max’s healing hands, Liz awakened to Nadia’s cries. Sitting up, she turned to her side of the bed to find that Nadia’s basinet was empty. Suddenly, Max came into their bedroom crooning with their daughter in his arms wearing nothing but a t-shirt and boxers to show off his muscular limbs and biceps. Liz caught her breath at handsome he was holding a now sleeping Nadia. He hadn’t noticed that Liz was awake watching him. Snuggling down into the bed quietly, she watched him as he held Nadia. They had come along way since that night five months ago. After Max had led her into their bedroom, Liz had stripped him of his clothes to take a shower. Afterward, they had lain in bed softly whispering to each other… and that’s when Max told her of the Ship and Lonnie’s body being missing. Max had then reassured her that Kivar wasn’t the one that was navigating the ship…since they had buried him six feet under. He told her that they had burn the building to the ground before taking Kivar’s body deep into Frasier Woods to bury. Liz hadn’t been very comforted by the news that Lonnie was still alive and probably planning to kidnap her son to rule Antar once again. The Counsel wouldn’t accept her without Alex and she most definitely knew it. Liz moaned in dread at having to watch their backs for the rest of their lives.

After that night Alex, Amelia, and Zan started having very violent nightmares. They became skittish whenever Isabel came near them…and Liz knew that hurt Isabel to her heart. Isabel, she had found out, had been taken by Kivar three months before that night so that Lonnie could impersonate her… founding out what they knew and where The Solarian was while planning to take Liz and Alex. Lonnie and Kivar would have succeeded if Ava and Serena hadn’t been there. Liz smiled as she thought of her two friends. The morning after that night, she, Max, and the kids had traveled to Serena’s house. Max wouldn’t let any of them out of his sight after that night…so he had invited himself and the kids along to Liz’s relief. At first it had been awkward especially with Max glaring at Sean and vice-versa. So Liz had taken the initiative to ask Sean, Max, and the kids to go out into the backyard for an hour. Of course there had been some arguments but both Liz and Serena had solved them with looks that could kill. That morning they had cooked breakfast together while getting to know one another again. Liz was happy to say that five months later she and Serena were very good friends.

Now five months later, Liz lay snuggled in bed feeling content as she watched her husband lay Nadia down carefully in the basinet beside her. She couldn’t ever remember feeling so at peace. Liz knew that danger awaited them at every corner but that was the price she had to pay for being a Queen and for being married to a King. Amelia, Alex, and Zan were still having nightmares but they weren’t as bad as they were a few months ago. What was that saying? Time healed all wounds. It was true. Time did heal all wounds. After having several talks with the kids, they had finally come around to being in the same room with Isabel. To this day, Liz only knew a few details of what happened to Isabel when she was with Kivar. From what she had heard…he had wined and dined Isabel trying to seduce her. But if he succeeded…Liz didn’t know. Her sister-in-law was much more quiet these days and reserved and that scared both Max and Liz. Several times they had tried to confront her about what happened but she would just wave them off…before changing the subject. So, they had just left it alone. They couldn’t do anything for her except offer their shoulders when needed. Liz was snapped out of her thoughts as Max got into bed beside her. Snuggling up against her back, he yawned before pulling her into his arms. “Liz?” “Yeah?” “Thank you!” “For what?” “For giving me another chance…for marrying me…for everything! I don’t know what I’d do if I ever lost you!” Max whispered softly against her hair. “Don’t thank me, Max, just love me and everything will be fine! Now go to sleep before Princess Nadia wakes up again!” Liz whispered sighing with a small smile as she heard Max chuckle softly in her ear. She knew the future would hold a lot of struggles for them as a family, as man and wife, and even as aliens but as long as they were together… she knew that they would eventually make it through the rain.
