I ran a hand through my hair wearily, "of course I understand him. With the shadow of a war looming over us, it would be good if I'm married soon so the situation would at least appear to be more stable. I'm probably just going to do that - marrying any girl my father comes up with in case it means that war can be prevented."

I shake my head in frustration,"It's a damn shame.I married Tess and I was lucky enough to fall madly in love with her.I hope you can find the same thing Alex.There's nothing worse than a loveless marriage."
I glance at the clock...shoot I was supposed to have lunch with Tess and now it's nearly evening.Where does the time go?

I can't help but smile back at him as I stroke his arm,"What...again!? I ask in a tone of feigned shock but then I laugh "As much as I like the idea of making love to my husband I think I need a bit of a nap.Could we just cuddle for a while?"
Without waiting for his answer I turn on my side,my back to him and bring his arm over my waist,pulling him closer.

I smile as she cuddles into my side and takes my arm to drape across her and I squeeze her tight for a moment before leaning up and placing another kiss to the side of her head. "Of course, my love. We've had a busy day. Some sleep will do us both some good," I tell her, a yawn escaping at the last sentence. My head is still hurting but at least it has eased up some. I pull the covers close around us and bury my nose near her hair so I can dream sweet dreams instead of the nightmares that usually plague my sleep.

After leaving my study I hurriedly walk down the maze of corridors that leads to my private chambers,cursing the fact that a king's time is never his own.Tess must be fed up of waiting for me.
Entering my chambers I walk in to the first room and see no sign of her so proceed to our bedroom where I spot her curled up on the bed surrounded by the things she will be taking to Taggora.
Gingerly sitting down next to her I lean down to see if she is actually asleep or just resting,"Tess...I'm sorry I kept you waiting.Things were just crazy in the court and then Alex wanted to talk to me about a few things." I shake her gently "Are you listening?"

"Of course, my love. We've had a busy day. Some sleep will do us both some good," he says and I can feel his forehead resting against the back of mine as I shut my eyes and breath in deeply,trying to go to sleep.
But my mind wanders and I fall in to a restless sleep.Quite by chance I come across Kivar's dreamscape and what I see disturbs me.The dreamscape is grey and cold and contains no signs of happiness.As quickly as I had entered I depart,not wanting to stay to find out more and my eyes open automatically.I can still feel his arm around me so I try to remain still.
There is something going on that he isn't telling me about.I am sure of that.When Tess comes I must find out if she understands the workings of her brother's mind any better than I do.Though I doubt that since they aren't very close.
It takes me another gour to go back to sleep but yet again I am pulled in to my husband's dreamscape.What I see confuses me to no one.The setting is the same as before except this time I am looking at two Kivars.Why would Kivar be dreaming about himself?I watch quietly.Suddenly they both draw swords and begin a sword fight.Neither seems to be gaining the upper hand that is until one manages to get in a lucky jab.
One falls to the ground and I gasp when I see the amount of blood pouring from the wound.My first instinct is to run to his side,knowing full well that this will let him know that I am in his dream but I take that risk.

I look up and spot the other one sneering at the sight of the two of us on the ground.

I sit up straight in my bed and move away from Vilandra as fast as possible. Curling up in the corner of the large bed by the headboard. I'm panting and sweating and trying to sort out why I'm suddenly terrified and angry all at once. I hold my head as I try to recall the details of my dream. The only thing I know for certain is that my wife invaded my dreams. I have never once gone into her head, despite all the times I wanted to and I'm hurt and angry. Most of all, I'm scared. I can't figure out why. The more I try to think about it, the more the answer seems to be out of my grasp. I groan as the pain from earlier in the evening comes back full force and I gasp for air while holding my head in my hands.
"What is happening to me?" I whisper not knowing where the question came from.
