Yes, that is actually his last name. His full name is CHRIS Daughtry, but his band is Daughtry, so that's what everyone knows him as

Just learned something new, today.CandyliciousLovah wrote:Yes, that is actually his last name. His full name is CHRIS Daughtry, but his band is Daughtry, so that's what everyone knows him as
I think Daughtry is a cool name, either way.

So, this next artist sings in 'baby talk' and sometimes I don't
understand it all, but I actually like some of her music.
And her MVs are, at least to me, interesting.
Here are two of them, just so you get the idea.
They're different, but... hey, to each their own, right?
Anyhoo, hope you enjoy!

Holy shit, Helen, I should not have watched these first thing in the morning, right before going to school. I feel like I just went on an acid trip. Not that I know what that feels like, but . . .Helen of Roswell wrote:So, this next artist sings in 'baby talk' and sometimes I don't

^ That is a classic. Whenever I listen to that one, I have this random memory of riding with my cousin in the car, just jamming out like there was no tomorrow.
Holiday by The Birthday Massacre
This is one of my absolute favorite bands. I got their newest album for Christmas, and after listening to it thoroughly over and over again, I got in the mood for some of their older stuff. The ending of this one always gets me moving, even if I'm sitting down.

I can listen to them all day long.
And HIS-&-HERS:
I get so nostalgic when I hear Closing Time by Semisonic.
Hearing both Holiday and Closing Time back-to-back has taken
me down memory lane. It's amazing to me it's 2013 already.
Makes me wanna re-visit some '90's and early 2000's music now.

Re: One Song Everyday # 4
I'm not usually the kind of girl who is interested in going to clubs - I'm the kind of person who would ruin a party - but the song that I'm listening to right now is making me want to go to one SO BADLY
So here we go...Starstruck by Lady Gaga (featuring Space Cowboy & Flo Rida)...Okay, I know that's weird but I had to share it with y'all

Well, I believe this song is written about a porn star. But don't let that dissuade you from listening! It's a damn good, little-known song with some pretty deep lyrics.

One Song - TRACKS 43 & 44! (Rabbits on the Run) Revisit

Hey Katie, I'm NOT one for clubs and 'parties', either, but I'm
all for dancing. And I don't think that's 'weird' at all.

My first time hearing this song. And whether it's about
a porn star or NOT, I like it! Looked up the lyrics to make
sure I caught it all. Pretty good stuff. Gracias, April !

I know I've posted a song by this artist/musician before, but...
I honestly do love her work. It's like sung poetry set to music.
She leaves a touch of her magic in every one of her songs.
And I've been enjoying her most recent album
Rabbits on the Run for over a year now.
Here are two lovely tracks. Soft, a bit sad, yet, still lovely.
Take back your list
You don't know what love is like
A bullet in the chest
And I never say yes
Never known a day without a quiet regret
So I walk to the high light
Ships gonna take me at midnight
Storms sounding out like an overture
It's time to join the marching line
Leave it all behind, and join the marching line
You don't know what love is like
A bullet in the chest
And I never say yes
Never known a day without a quiet regret
So I walk to the high light
Ships gonna take me at midnight
Storms sounding out like an overture
It's time to join the marching line
Leave it all behind, and join the marching line
This next one is short, but the simple lyrics have a profound truth to them.
And I really appreciate this particular video, smartly made by (elintonwiermann).
And in the end
You begin again
It's the way of all things
You begin again
It's the way of all things

One Song Everyday # 4 - TRACKS 45 & 46! ZEROphilia
I watched a 20/20 special with Barbara Walters the other night, and the first
part was about a young male-to-female transgendered girl named Jazz.
Pretty interesting interview about her life, and her parents acceptance of
her identifying as female from a very early age, and their family's decision
to start transitioning her through her journey. Although she has a supportive
and open-minded group of people around her, the harshness and blind cruelness
of complete strangers who targeted her on-line left me a little sick.
One comment in particular stuck out: 'Kill IT with fire.'
It stung me, and I felt my blood run cold reading that.
And it wasn't even a message for me.
I can only imagine what it's like for her, only eleven,
and knowing there are people out there in the world
who mean her harm for just being born who she is.
And it got me thinking about a movie I'd seen (several times)
that dealt with human sexuality, gender identity and gender
roles, and sexual orientation.
It's a funny film, with a profound message, that
left a strong and lasting impression on me.
I recently watched it again - Zerophilia.
Here are two songs, by the same artist, from the movie.
The second track is in French, but there is an English
translation in the description box.
Artist: Edith (Edie) Pijpers
Country: The Netherlands
Hauntingly beautiful, this one.

As you take another shaky step towards an end
Then the means become clear
Slowly your stride becomes well confident
And you’ll find a lot of love, where there first was fear
