"Okay, but can we get a different waitress?" I laugh teasingly.

I can't help but laugh as I say "Sure thing!"

I offer Tess my hand, but she does not give it to me right away. Its almost as though she's weighing the pro's and con's of taking it. There's no doubt in my mind that she does not want to appear over eager.

"I won't bite" I promise her with a smile. Tess finally gives in and takes my hand. I lead the way toward the throng of people in the club. Spotting a table away from the chaos I head for it.

Once we arrive I allow Tess to take her seat first and slide in beside her. A waiter comes by and asks us for our drink order and leaves.

"So...Tess Harding," I say, leaning against the table and looking into Tess' big beautiful eyes, eyes I know I could get lost in, if I wasn’t careful.

"Tell me something about yourself you've never told another living sole?" I ask, with a raised eyebrow. I realize immediately that I've asked a personal and unpredictable question, but after our last exchange, I needed something heavy to break the ice.

"Hmmm. Something I've never told another living soul." I repeat tapping my finger across my shiny lips for emphasis. I scrunch my eyebrows together showing my deep thinking technique. He laughs which causes a smile to creep across my face.
When I come up with the answer my face lights up with suprise. Keeping the suspence Ihave just built up I bring him closer. Leaning in I whisper into his ear

"Elvis movies. I love them. You know the ones he actually starred in. They had horrific plots and there was no decent dialogue to be found, but I love watching them. He is always the charasmatc player who sweeps the woman off her feet, while saving the day, and singing a little song in the process. And you know the best part..."

I ask looking him in his deeply soulful eyes. He just shakes his head no and seems completely enthralled in my words.

"There's always a happy ending in an Elvis movie." I conclude.

"Well, now you know my guilty pleasure. What's yours?"

Leaning into my ear ,Tess tells me her guilty pleasures are Elvis movies which causes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. Not because she's into old Elvis movies, all chicks dig the hipster, dead or alive. Though not many women our age, would openly admit it.

No, the reason my hairs stand at attention sending shocks of electrical energy down my spine is because she's so close, I can feel her breath on my face, so close, I can smell her fragrant perfume, so close, I could reach over and...

Clearing my, I pull away from the table and lean against the booth, my arms folded across my chest, fully aware that by maintaining this position I would appear guarded and cautious.

"Well, now you know my guilty pleasure. What's yours?" She asks me.

"I feel no guilt over the things I indulge in!" I say, attempting to appear aloof. It doesn't last long as I watch one of Tess' eyebrows arch suggestively. I smile at her...something I've been doing alot of tonight and say.

"Actually, I do have something that would fall under the header, something I've never told another living sole". Tess nods.

"For the last year and a half, I've been volunteering at the Happy Days Senior Citizen's Center!" I say, not beleiving that I actually told her that.

Nice one Valenti, now she's going to think your a complete pussy!

"Oh well, I've known Tess like my whole life, we're basically sisters, and we met Maria the blonde and Liz the brunnette in school and we all just stuck I guess, they're the only family I have, I don't know what i'd do about them." I say passionatley.

I love my girls so much, when talking about them it justs brings a smile to my face, they're the best things to happen to me.

"So enough about our friends." I say giving a little laugh.

"Where'd you grow up?" I asked him

I give him my confession and he immediately becomes distant. Whoa, I didn't realize it was that bad. When he gives me his secret I can't help ,but be shocked. Why would he do that? I mean I have the upmost respect for people who do community service, but I just can't picture him being one of those people. Kyle Valenti-Humanitarian? I search his gorgeous face for a sign that he's lying. I find no trace of dishonesty. Wow, he really does. Still, the question lingers so I just ask,

"Really? How did you get into that?"

I smile at Isabel's enthusiasm when she talks about meeting her friends. They are obviously close. Probably closer than us guys are.

"Where'd you grow up?"

"Uhm, here and there." I reply with a laugh. "My dad is in the army and till my 15th birthday, we were constantly moving around the States. We finally settled down in a small town near Phoenix, Arizona so ... I guess that's home."

I really hated moving, to be constantly the new kid without any friends.

"You four always been living here or did you move here together?" I ask Isabel, trying to not think about high school anymore.

OOC:Oh Cherry don’t make Liz leave. I'm sorry, Me and my computer have been having some problems lately. And now my boyfriend went and broke it. I'll try to post as soon as I can, just know that I have not left.

<<<Max>>>

When the girl that I’ve been eyeing approaches me I have to stop myself form smiling.

Liz.

I remind myself. Hmm I like it. Very classy. She walks over to the bar and sits down next to me. I lean my arm against my chair and smile.

“Liz,” I say. “First of all let me just say that it’s very nice to meet you.” I stick my hand out to her in the gesture of a handshake. She looks at me strangely as she takes my hand and I shake hers. No doubt she is the type of girl that is used to having a guy kiss her hand and tell her how beautiful she is.

“A handshake?” she asks.

I just shrug my shoulders. “Oh yes, my father taught me that a women allowing you to touch her hand is one of the most obvious gestures of affection.”

“Really?” she asks in a disbelieving voice.

“Oh yes.” I say not letting go of her hand. “When shaking someone’s hand a person leaves themselves widely open to the person whose hand they are shaking.” I explain further.

“Is that so?” she ask.

“Of course.” I reply “Not only that, but touching hands has a language all of its own.” I smile at her.

“A normal hand shake says ‘Hello, it’s nice to see you.’ But there are so many other things that our hands can say in the way we touch each other.”

I change our hands so that our fingers are locked together. “This is the way that a couple holds hands to say that they are together and have a mutual respect for each other.”

I let our hands change forms once more so that we are both holding each other’s hand with the whole of ours. “This is the way that a man holds a woman’s hand. Even though we are both gripping each other’s hand in the same way, a man’s hand is naturally bigger than a woman’s and therefore he dominates her hand. Men use this to show other men that he and his woman are more than friends.” I explain.
“And this,” I rearrange our hands so that I am gripping her fingers between my four fingers and my thumb. “This way says that I am very attracted to you and would like to get to know you better.”

Ooc: No prob chica! I know how it feels to have a putt-putt computer! lol

LIZ

Wow. This guy is good. Very, very good. If he wasn't so hot I would most likely have told him to stick his fingers where the sun don't shine. But unfortunately for me I'm knee deep in mutual attraction. Damn him and his sexy talk.

Across the way I see that the girls are already off on their own conquests and too busy too look over and give me a nod 'yes' or a frown 'no.' Well, I did seem to get the okay to even have him approach me so I guess letting my guard down for a few second is okay.

Let's see, nice 'expensive' clothes {check}, clean shave {check}, leather shoes {check}, drink of choice: scotch... Bingo. We have a winner.

"So I hear you were very eager to meet little ol me." I bat my lashes, "I must say that little speech of yours was quite the ocebreaker Mr. Evans. But it's going to take more than that to impress someone like me."

Now usually this is the part where my suitor blabs about his bank account or his lux lifestyle. But this in fact is not what I say. Instead I say...

"So I hear you were very eager to meet little ol me." I bat my lashes, "Tell me Mr. Evans, what is it that caught your attention?" I smile devilishly. Gets 'em every time...

"Really? How did you get into that?" Tess asks in earnest.

“Our company is involved with various charitable organizations, the home being one of them,” I say, looking over to Tess, who appears to actually be interested in my work at the home. That’s a first!

“I’ve always had a sort of soft spot for older folks... so, I decided to take on a more, hands on roll at the center.” I begin, a hint of my southern drawl creeps out when I use the word “folks”.

”Nothing gets you off of your high horse faster than slinging hash for a bunch of fussy seniors” I add, cracking a smile.

“...besides that, you can learn an awful lot about life, just by talking to someone who’s lived it longer than you.” I say, turning to face Tess.

“I don’t know why I just told you that” I say looking away from her, towards the guys across the club. “The fella’s...” I say nodding in their direction “...don’t have a clue...” I say looking back at Tess.

“And if they ever find out...” I say furrowing my brow “..I’ll know just who to hunt down.” Tess laughs.

Why did I tell her that? I don’t understand it myself. Tonight was supposed to be about fun and debauchery. About sex, drugs and alcohol, (ok, maybe not drugs...but definitely alcohol). It was most definitely not about getting in touch with my kinder, gentler side.

The waiter returns with our drinks. I tip the guy discretely and he leaves. Taking a long swig of my drink, I regroup and change course.

“It’s your turn...” I say, looking at Tess, who appears confused about my question.

“...to ask a, getting to know you, type question” I elaborate, placing my drink down.
