Chapter 30

The next day, Maria, Isabel, Michael, and Jesse were sitting in the living room of Jesse and Maria's house. They were just hanging out and talking. "So, did you and Kyle finish unpacking?" Maria asked Isabel.

"Ha. Are you kiding. The minute you guys left, Kyle only had one thing on his mind." Isabel said with a laugh.

"Men," Maria quipped with a grin.

"Hey!" Jesse and michael said at the same time. Then they conceeded the point.

"Yeah, that's what i thought." Maria said snuggling into Jesse. Then she remembered what she wanted to ask michael. "So, how was hanging out with the guys last night?" she asked. Isabel's ears perked up with interest.

Michael blushed a little and looked down. "It was fine. You know, the usual."

"That is so not an answere," maria said, "You dont USUALLY hang out with anyone but us. So what happened."

"We went. We watched hockey. They drank." Michael said, still not looking up.

"Michael Guerin. Stop lying to me. I know you and i know you are keeping somthing from me, and i will find out about is so jsut tell me." Maria said with a huff.

"Yeah, the two of us can figure you out. So, just tell us." Isabel said.

"FINE!" Michael said. "I met someone." he still wasn't looking up.

"Oh My God! Who? Where? When? What is she like? Or he? When are you going out? What are you going to do?" Maria asked all at once. Jesse and Michael laughed at her excitment.

"Whoa...slowdown. First of all i met HER at the bar last night. She was my bartender. Her name is Serina, i walked her to her car. We are going out tonight at 7:30, and i havn't decided what we are doing." Michael said answereing all of her questions.

It was Isabel's turn. "You are going out TONIGHT and you dont know what you are doing...Oh Michael." She said with a good-natured grin.

"I'll figure it out. But she seems really cool. I dont know i get these vibes from her. You know, like i know her. Or i should know her." Michael said.

"I think that is awesome." Maria said with a warm smile. She despiratly wanted Michael to find someone, like she had.

Michael saw Serina waiting at the Bar and made his way across the street to meet her. "Hello, michael." Serina greeted with a smile.

"Hi," Michael returned.

"So, what's the gameplan for tonight?" Serina asked.

"Well, i thought maybe we could catch a bite to eat and then get coffee. You know, get to know each other a little bit." Michael almost laughed at himself. He was actually suggesting that he get to know a woman. Maria had sure changed him. 5 years ago, he would have run far far away at the thought of 'getting to know' someone.

"That sounds great. Want to take your car or mine?"

"I'm still in the process of getting a car. Took a cab, so yours would be best." Michael said feeing stupid. It was his job to think of these things.

"That's cool, i'm this way," Serina said point to the parking garage. Michael nodded and smiled and followed her to ther car. ONce inside, he directer her to the Italian resturante he had made reservations for.

"Oh, i love this place," Serina said excitedly as they went to thier table.

"Me too," Michael said smiling warmly at her. As they sat down, he took her in. She was beautiful. Even more beautiful than last night. Her reddish hair was a mess of curls pinned loosly to her head. She wore a simple black dress that acsetuated her curves beautifully.

Serina took Michael in as well. He wore dark blue jeans and a tight black teeshirt with a camel colored leather jacket. He looked good enough to eat. Serina felt a closeness to him, which was crazy becuase she had jsut met him, and they hadn't really talked much.

"Well, what do you do Michael? i'm a bartender as you know. By day i'm a student, but i've taken this semester off. I'll be starting back up in the spring." Serina explained.

"I'm working construction. School was never realy my thing." Michael answered.

"Well, it isn't everyone's thing." Serina said with a sincer smile.

They ordered thier food and talked all through dinner. They found they had alot in common, as well as a lot of differences. Much like Michael and maria did. Michael really liked Serina. And Serina really liked him. Soon they were finished and were making there way to a small coffee shop close to Michael's apartment.

They talked for hours over coffee about everything under the sun. They never got too deep, it was the first date after all, but conversation was good, and they had a great time. Finally, Michael paid the bill and they headed to his apartment.

When they got there, Serina parked the car and walked Michael to the door. "So, ummm" she started. She wanted to come in but she didn't want to push.

Michael knew Serina wanted to come up. But that was just way to fast for him. He like's Serina, but not only was he still getting over Maria, he had a whole mess of extra terestrial issues to deal with. "I had a really nice night." he said with a smile.

"Me too. You wanna..." she didn't finnish.

Michael looked into her eyes. "I'm...I'm not ready to..." Michael started, but Serina stopped him by placing her finger on his lips.

"No, i understand. I had a really nice night. i hope we can get together again." she said with a smile.

"Definatly. Here is my number." Michael said writting it down. "I'd really like to see you again."

"Absolutly." Serina said taking the number. Then she leaned in and kissed Michael on the cheek.

Michael smiled and moved his mouth over her's capturing her lips in his. As they kissed, fireworks flashed before his eyes. "Night," he said breaking the kiss with a smile.

"Night, michael. I'll call you tomorrow," Serina said as if in a daze.

Maria settled in Jesse's arms as they climbed into bed. "I'm so glad michael had a date tonight." Maria said.

"Me too. Maybe he will move on." Jesse said.

"I hope so." Maria said planting kisses on Jesse's chest. "Baby, i want you." she could feel her body over heating.

"mmmm, I want you too." Jesse said flipping Maria over so he was on top of her.

The two made love all night long. Finally, they passed out in the early morning, sweating and out of breath from the night's exerstions.

Chapter 31

Four months passed and it was March in Boston. Early spring was rougher in Boston than in New Mexico. Jesse laughed at his friends over the winter. They were wusses. New York in winter was way worse than Boston.

Things were going well for everyone. Isabel was 6 months pregnate and irritable as ever. The only person she seemed to be able to talk to without screaming was Maria, so she pent most of her time at Maria and Jesse's house.

Kyle was working full time at the garage and doing his best to keep Isabel happy and comfortable. He would go out in the middle of the night for her cravings, rub her feet when they hurt, and everything else a good father to be does. Isabel did appriciate him, she was just tired and uncomfortable.

Maria and JEsse were slowly plannign thier wedding. Maria was also planning her classes for the fall. She was so excited to start school. She was getting stir crazy sitting around the hosue all day.

Michael was still seeing Serina. At least once a week they went out to partake in many different attractions in the greater Boston area. He really liked her. But he felt bad becuase he couldnt open up to her all the way. He hated lying to her. Besides, he was really itching to take the relationship to the next level, and he would have to ask Maria, but he was pretty sure that Serina would know that Michael wasn't human from the sex.

Jesse took a week off from work. The office was slow and he wanted to spend some time with his friends, and most especially Maria. "Hey baby," Maria smiled sleepily at JEsse as she woke up.

"Hey, yourself." Jesse said with a grin.

Maria pulled herslef out of bed and threw her robe on. "So, what to do today?" she asked throwing Jesse's robe at him.

"I say we go over to Kyle and Isabel's and keep her company. She's really having a tough time." Jesse said pulling his jeans on.

"Yeah, i feel bad for her. But Kyle, he's a damn saint." Maria said with a laugh.

"Maria, can i talk to you?" Isabel asked quietly, several minutes after Maria and Jesse arrived.

"No problem," Maria said.

Maria follwed Isabel into the bedroom and closed the door behind her. "What's up?" she asked.

"Maria, i'm a bitch." Isabel blurted out.

Maria chuckled and siad, "What?"

"I've been so mean to everyone the past couple of months. I know Michael is ready to kill me. I keep snapping and Jesse who has been nothing but wonderful to me. And Kyle. God, Kyle. I've been the worst to him. ANd i love him, i dont want him to think i dont love him. Becuase i do. I love him so much Maria." Isabel said bawling into her hands.

Maria wrapped her arms around her friend. "Isabel. Isabel, listen." Maria said leading her to the bed where the both sat down. "Kyle loves you too. He knows you love him, he understands that being pregnate is hard. He just wants to make you happy and comfortable. You guys are having a baby. You should be excited. Kyle understands, trust me. I know." Maria said.

"Really?"

"Really." Maria assured her. Isabel smiled and hugged the smaller girl.

"You are the best friend ever." Isabel said crying again. "Damn these hormones." she said whiping her eyes with a giggle.

"Now, lets go hang with Jesse." Maria said getting up and taking Isabel's hand.

Kyle came home to have lunch with Isabel, Jesse and Maria. The minute he walked through the door, Isabel was in his arms. She kissed him on the mouth and grinned widly at him. Kyle was confused but went with it. He looked to Maria for an explanation, and she jsut smiled at her.

Suddenly, Maria's phone rang. "Hello?"

"Hey it's Michael."

"Oh, Hey, whats up?"

"Nothing. Look i need to talk to all of you. Can you get everyone together tonight?" Michael asked.

"Ummm Yeah," Maria said concenred, "Are you ok? What's wrong?"

"No, nothing is wrong. i just have to talk to you guys about somthing." Michael answered.

"Ok, as long as you promise me nothing is wrong." Maria said.

"Nothing is wrong. How about 7:00. Is that cool?" Michael asked.

"Yeah, i'll tell everyone." Maria said then she hung up the phone.

"Who was it, baby?" Jesse asked.

"Michael. He wants a meeting at 7:00 at our house tonight. I don't know way." Maria said.

Isabel began to get worried. "Whats wrong? is he ok?" she asked.

"No, yeah, he said he was fine. Dont worry, if it was a big deal he would come right home now." Maria argued.

"Maria's right." Kyle said, "Let's just eat."

Maria sat in Jesse's lap on the couch, while Isabel and Kyle cuddled on the loveseat, waiting for Michael. Finally at 7:15 he walked in the door.

"So, whats the deal?" isabel said irritibly. She wanted to get right to the point.

"I have somthing to talk to you guys about. It affects all of us, and i'm not going to pull a Max, but this is really important to me." Michael began.

Chapter 32

Michael took a deep breath and looked at his friends. he didn't know how to ask what he wanted to ask. And he didn't know how to word it. "Ok, well i've got to ask you somthing. Just hear me out first." he said. he took anouther deep breath and continued.

"As you all know. I met someone several months ago. Serina. You have all met her, and you all like her, or seem to. The thing is, i really like her. I mean i think i'm falling for her. I havn't felt this way about anyone except maria." he said looked at her. She was smiling, but looked confused.

"So what's the problem?" Kyle asked.

"Well, i'm getting there. I'm ready, or actually, we are ready to take things to the next level. And i think you all can agree that Alien sex is different than human sex. She is going to know somthing is off, just like Jesse did. Besides that, i really care about her. I want her to know the truth. I dont want to hide from her. I know we can trust her." Michael said.

Everyone thought about what exactly Michael was saying. He wanted to tell Serina about his extra-terrestrial origins. Placing all of thier fates in this woman's hand. Isabel was the first to speak. "I mean, I know that if you trust her, so can i. I just want to make sure you really know this girl. What if she isn't who she says she is." Isabel asked.

"I want nothing more than for you to be happy, so since this involves you directly, along with Isabel, you should make the decision," Maria said, "just be careful." She would die if anything happened to her friends.

Michael nodded, "I know what you are saying, but do you remember when you asked me to trust you about Jesse?" he asked Isabel. She nodded. "Well, at first i didn't. Then i realized that he was ok, and that you loved each other. I trusted you to make the right decision. I can only ask you to do the same. I know Serina. I know that she can keep this secret." he pleaded.

"If you think it is right, then i trust you." Kyle said, knowing that this decision affected not only he and his wife, but his unborn child.

Jesse finally added his two sence. "Michael is right. Isabel, you remember how hurt i was when i found out that you were alien. It wasn't that you were alien that bothered me. It was that you lied. i think that Serina can forgive Michael for keeping this from her until now, but if he keeps hiding it, the closer they get, it will feel like a lie and a betrayal." Jesse knew all to well that feeling, but luckily he had come out on top.

"I know, i'm just scared, but i do trust you Michael." Isabel finally said.

Michael grinned from ear to ear. "Thank you guys so much. You are the best. Now i jsut have to figure out how to tell her."

"What if you and Isabel told her together?" Kyle asked, not even knowing how Isabel felt about that.

Isabel perked up, realizing she could be for some help. "I can do that."

"I dont know, i mean, i think i should go myself. It might be too much for both of us to tell her. She might feel like we are ganging up on her." Michael reasoned.

Maria nodded. "I agree with Michael. This is somthing that Michael needs to tell Serina himself. And afterwords, if she has questions, which she obviously will, she can come talk to all of us." Maria said. Michael smiled at her.

"Okay. So i'll go tell her tonight. Then i'll call you when we are on our way." Michael said.

Michael knocked lightly on Serina's door. He was nervous and very afraid that she would not accept him. That she would freek out and run for the hills. Who was he kidding, he probably would. And the fact that the FBI could stil lbe after them didn't help.

Serina opened the door and smiled at Michael, pulling him into a passionate kiss. Michael had to close himself off as to not send her flashes, and he hated that. he wanted to show her all of himself. "So, what's up? We dont have a date tonight," Serina said leading Michael to the couch.

Michael chuckled, "No, i just wanted to talk to you about somthing." he said.

Serina could tell that Michael was nervous, and that, in turn, made her nervous. What if he was breaking up with her. What if he didn't like her anymore. "Michael, is this your way of giving me the kiss off?" she asked, her insecurities comming to the forefront.

Michael was shocked that she would even think that. "No, Serina. No, i really like you. I dont want to break up. I just need to tell you somthing." he said. He took a deep breath. "There isn't any easy way to say this...I really like you. I think i'm falling for you in a way that i have only done once. But i've been keeping somthing from you. Somthing that was not my secret alone to tell. I'm..." Michael struggled with the words. "I'm one of the Aliens from the Roswell UFO crash." he said looking down to collect himself before looking back up at Serina.

Serina processed the information. So that was why she felt connected to him. She went over the thought in her head, wrapping her mind around it. It was extra-ordinary. She finally looked at Michael. He looked so scared. So lost. She knew why. She understood perfectly why. He had every reason to be. His identity could destroy him, and yet he shared it with her.

Before she could stop herself, she jumped into his arms, kissing him hard. Michael was taken by suprise. That was not the reaction he was expection. "Wh...What?" he asked.

Serina realized, she needed to explain herslef. Why she wasn't scared or disgusted, or even cynical of his revelation. "Michael, did you ever meet other aliens? Aliens that were like you?"

"Yeah. There were the Skins, from our planet. Antar. And then ones exactly like us in New York City." he answered, coutiously, confused.

Serina's eyes widened. That ment....Oh My God! "My best friend, and the girl who saved my life is one of you," she said, tears streaming from her eyes.

"Wait, what?" Michael asked pulling away and scratching his head.

"Let me start from the beginning," Serina said as she got comfortabel on the couch, motioning for Michael to do the same.

"Last year, when i turned 18, i moved out of my house. I lived in an abusive home, and i had to get out of there. So i went to New York City, to get readt for college at NYU. It was totally new to me and i had like no money. So i lived in a shady part of town in a small, cramped studio apartment. I was doing fine, but apparently i was not well assimulated with the city. I was held up at gun point for my bag. But i was defiant as you well know." She went on, trying to make light of the frightening situation. "i fought the guy and i was shot. right here," she said lifting her shirt and pointing at her abdomen. Michael didn't see any wound, and he was further confused.

Serina lowered her shirt and continued, "Luckily, this girl, who later became my best friend, heard the commosion and saved my life. She is and alien and her name is Ava. She was alone. There were three others with her. Zan was her lover, and he was killed by the other two. Lonnie and Rath. She rarely talks about them. She only told me that not long after she left Roswell after Zan was killed, they were killed by a "skin" as you call them, Nicolas." Serina said.

Michael was thrown for a major loop. Serina knew Ava? Rath and Lonnie were dead? It was alot of information. "Say something." Serina said.

"No, it's just alot of information. Ava came to Roswell with Rath and Lonnie after Zan died. She helped us save our Zan, Max as we know him, from Rath and Lonnie. Okay, look Serina. I was going to ask you to come over to Maria's house for all of us to answere your questions, but seeing as that isn't nessesary, do you that you could come over anyway, and we could all talk about this?' Michael asked.

Serina smiled, "Yeah, that's fine. Let me get me coat, It will probably be a long night."

"Yeah," Michael said thinking about everything.

Chapter 33

Maria, Isabel, Kyle, and Jesse were sitting in the living room, waiting for Michael and Serina. Michael had called them and told them that he was bring Serina over. It seemed pretty fast. They wondered why he didn't have to calm her down for a few hours.

They didn't have to wait long, becuase Michael came through the door about 5 minutes after they had all reconviened. Serina had her arm around Michael's waist and he was holding her close. Not the picture of a woman who had jsut discovered her boyfriend was not of this earth. "What's going on?" Isabel asked, voicing everyone's inner question.

"Ok, this is actually weird. Even for us," Michael said sitting down next to Serina on the loveseat. "Turns out, Serina isn't exactly new to aliens." Michael said.

"What?" Isabel asked confused.

"Let me explain," Serina said. She went on to tell everyone her stry the same as she did Michael. They were all shocked and couldn't eblvie what a small world it was. "I always got vibes from Michael, and i just brushed them off, but now i see it's because he is part of Ava's family."

"Wow," Kyle said, mouth hung open.

"So, where is Ava now?" Maria asked. She had always been fond of Ava. She was the one who saved Max.

"In New York. I'm trying to get her to move out here. She is still living in a sewer were she was 'born'. I think i've almost talked her into movie. I had to get out of the city. It was killing me. She doesn't have anyone there. Rath and Lonnie are dead. Zan is dead. She didn't have any other friends but me, and that was only since a year ago." Serina explained.

"So what happened to Rath and Lonnie?" Jesse asked. he had heard horror storied about the both of them, and having heard Isabel explain her alter ego, Vilondra, he knew that the world was a better place without her.

"When Ava got back into the city, Rath was already gone. Nicholas had killed him in a jealous rage. i guess he caught Rath and Lonnie in bed together, and he wanted Lonnie to himself. Lonnie played along and stuck by Nicholas, but when it was made aparent that he was not going to get her back to Antar, she turned against him and he killed her as well." Serina explained the best she could.

"It left Ava alone, and unprotected, but with all the other members of her pod dead, she had all thier powers. It was like a built in system so that no one was ever unprotected. She can mindwarp, heal, go into people's dreams, sent out electric shocks, blow things up, God, i dont eve know what else." Serina went on.

Michael held Serina tighter. The though crossed his mind that if Ava had not been there at the right time, Serina would be dead. It sent chills down his spine.

"I'd real like her to move here." Isabel said almost to herself. "And if Max and Liz would get thier heads out of thier asses, we would all be together." she said more forcefully.

"Yeah, not likely," Maria said with a roll of the eyes.

"yeah, where is your Zan, or Max as you call him?" Serina asked.

Kyle looked Serina in they eyes and said, "With his head stuck up Liz Parker's ass."

Maria giggled and explained, "We, or rather Michael, Isabel, Liz, and Max, were being hunted by the FBI. Actually, we all were, but those were thier prime suspects for being aliens. Anyway, they, along with Kyle ran from the FBI. The FBI tried to use my mother, along with Max and Isabel's mother to get to us, and in turn find them. Jesse and I had moved to boston together and we went back to save mom and Diane. Michael and isabel felt somthing off so they left Max and Liz, who wouldnt help to find us. That is how we all got back together. But Max and Liz cared, and still care only about themseves and each other. So when Isabel became pregant, she and Kyle decided they didn't want to haev the baby on the road, running from the Law. It's not so romantic when you actually have to do it. Max and Liz threw a hissy fit and they are still on the road, god knows where, and we are all here in Boston. Oddly enough, there have been no run ins with the FBI since."

Serin nodded. "They sound lilke ass-holes." she said with a laugh.

"Hopefully you will get to meet them someday. Its always a good time laughing at my pussy whipped brother and his mouse of a wife." Isabel said.

"But enough of that," Maria said, "Welcome to the family. I think you will find it as disfunctional as most and crazyer than any."

Serina smiled at Maria. She liked her. She knew that she SHOULD have some hidden rivalry with her, but she didn't. Maria only threatened her in the since that anyone would fall in love with her. And Serina knew that Michael had a special place in her heart for Maria. Oh Boy, did she know, but she also knew that Maria was 100% in love with her fiance JEsse, and that Micahel had come to to terms with that. Michael's first love was Maria, adn that would always be important to him, but that didn't mean he couldn't move on. Him telling her his secret was proof that he wanted her in his life in a big way.

"Well, thank you." Serina said with a smile. "Any friend of Michael's has got to be good people."

The group then began to talk about anything and everything. including Serina in all of thier conversations. They talked about life in Roswell, some of the crazy things they got themselves into in high school. Serina was dumbfounded and all of the crap they went through. "How did you pass class?" she asked with a laugh.

Michael looked down and everyone laughed, "Well, actually, your good buddy Michael didn't. The rest of us got by on C's by the grace of god, becuase i tell you we were never in school." Kyle said.

Serina looked at Michael. She didn't know he hadn't graduated. Michael blushed. "Well, actually i think i'm gonna get my GED and go to Community College." Michael said.

Maria smiled. She wanted Michael to get and eduacation. "Well will you look at this. We will be the only two uneducated ones." Kyle said. He was half joking, but halk serious. With the baby comming, Isabel and kyle would have to work and would have time to go to school.

"That's not true. You guys we can work this out." Maria said. She wasn't going to let her friends go without somthing they really wanted. "We are a family. All of us. We can all help out so that you can get an education."

Serina smiled. "Yeah. I mean, with the baby comming. Isabel could start school in the Fall. That's 6 months away, and Kyle could work. Any of us coudl take turns watching the baby. Then you guys could switch and Kyle could go to school while Isabel works." she said on the spot.

The wheels began turning in Maria's head. "Thats an awful long time for them both to get through college. Let's think about this. Come up with a workable plan that gets you both done with college as soon as possble." she said het eyes bright.

"You guys don't have to do this. We can get by." Kyle said.

"Yeah, we are already a burdon." Isabel added.

"Nonesence." Jesse said "We are a family, like Maria said. You're problems are our problems."

"I'll think on this, you guys dont worry." Maria said with a grin.

"That's Amy DeLuca's child" Micheal said leaning back on the couch.

Chapter 34

"So, how about you all stay for dinner. Dont' worry, i'm not cooking. I got some Take-out earlier." Maria said rolling her eyes.

Everyone smiled and nodded. "That sounds good." Serina said. When Maria got up to go into the kitchen, Serina got up as well. "Let me help you, Maria."

Maria smiled and the two women made thier way into the kitchen. "Actually, i wanted to talk to you." serina confessed in the kitchen.

Maria smiled, "I figured." she said she pulled out at bar stool for Serina. "Take a load off." she said. Serina sat down and looked into the green eyes of Maria.

"I jsut wanted to ask you some things. I know you and michael were close. You were his first love, and i know i can never compete with that. I know how he looks at you. And i can't blame him. You are amazing." Serina said.

"Michael and I are best friends. We always will be, but he is moving on and I'm moving on. I'm really happy for him." Maria said.

"I know that." Serina said, "I jsut want you to know i'm not going to hurt him. I really care about him. But there's one thing i need to know. One thing that scares the hell out of me."

"What is it?" Maria asked cocking her head to one side.

"Rath. I know the kind of person Rath was. He was mean, vicious, sex-hungry, and a murderer. It scares me becuase Michael and Rath share the same past, the same DNA, and the same everything basically. I just wanted to know from someone that was intimate with him, if i should be worried." Serina confessed. She felt stupid becuase she had dated Michael and he showed no such shines, but at the same time she had reason to be worried.

"I understand." Maria said with a warm smile. "Take everything you know about Rath and think of the opposite and you get Michael. Well, that isn't true. He does have some of Rath's traits. He can be possesive, but only if h e cares. He is impulsive nearly all the time. He can be harsh, but only if he thinks you are going to get hurt. He really has trouble knowing how to show his love, but that has more to do with his upbringing than his DNA. Michael is an honest, hard-working good man. If you had met him when i did, you might be a little more worried, but he has grown up alot."

"Jeez, why did you let him go?" Serina asked with a laugh.

"We just moved in two different directions. I will always care about Michael and in some way love him, but i know that Jesse is my soulmate. It's hard to explain." maria said.

"I think i get it." Serina said.

"I thought you would." Maria said with a smile. "So, you ready to take the food out?" Serina nodded and followed Maria out.

Back at Serina's apartment, "So what did you and Maria talk about?" Michael asked, unable to keep himself from asking. It had been weighing on him since they went into the kitchen together. He knew they were talking about him.

Serina giggled at his patience. "We talked about you. I asked her if you were like Rath," she said seriously.

"How was your flight?" Jesse asked.

"Long, but no turbulance." Nancy answered.

"Well, let's get back to the house." Jesse said picking up some of Nancy, Amy, and Diane's baggage.

As they drove up to the house, Philip said, "This is a very nice home you guys have."

"Wow, Maria, you didn't tell me you and JEsse were living in a Mansion," her mother exclaimed.

Maria blushed. "It's really nice." Nancy and Diane both admired.

"Oh look, Michael, Isabel, Kyle, and Serina are here." maria said.

Diane and Philip smiled. They would get to see their daughter and Michael, who was almost like a son to them anyway. "Who is Serina?" Jim asked.

"Oh we completely forgot to tell you about here." Maria said internally kicking herslef. "She is Michael's better half. She knows about the alien thing, and she is just about the sweetest girl you will ever meet." Maria said. "You will love her, she is already part of the family."

Hours later, the adults were starting to get tired. After all the catching up, Maria had ordered some chinese in, and it was getting late.

"Let me show you to your rooms," maria said getting up. She took Amy to the Guest room. Philip and Diane went to the room that used to be her's and Nancy and Jeff got the pull out couch in the basement. "Night," she said, and left them alone.

Finally, an hour later, everyone else left. Maria plopped down on the couch nec to Jesse, just in time to hear the doorbell. "Who the hell could that be?" she asked out loud.

"I'll get it baby, relax." Jesse said getting up. He went to the door and opened it, his breath hitching when he saw who it was. "What?" he asked out loud, as the form in front of him stared back at Jesse.

Chapter 39

"Max? What are you doing here?" Jesse asked, astonished and alittle bit peeved that Max would just show up on thier doorstep 5 days before thier wedding.

"Baby, who is it?" Maria asked as she walked into the foyer to see. "Max..." she breathed as she saw Max Evans standing in thier doorway.

"I...ummm...I wanted to see you," he said to Maria, sort of ignoring Jesse.

"When...what...how...?" Maria said, never getting a ful sentence out. "Well, come in." she said motioning for him to come inside. "Where is Liz?" she asked.

Max looked at Jesse, "I want to talk to both of you, but can i talk to Maria first?" he asked.

Jesse reluctantly nodded. "I'll be in the kitchen if you need me, baby." Jesse said leaving the foyer and kissing Maria on the cheek.

"Let's go in the living room," Maria said leading Max to the couch. "So what possible reason could you have for showing up on our doorstep 5 days before my wedding, when last time i talked to you, you wanted nothing to do with me?" Maria bit out, trying, but not succeeding, to hold back her rage.

"I know you are upset, and you have every reason to be. I want to try to explain. When i thought the FBI was after us, i was a real asshole. I know that, and Liz kept telling me to stay strong and be the king, and i listened. Then, about 3 weeks ago, I told her that i no longer wanted to be the king. That i wanted to come to Boston, find you guys and settle down. You know, start a normal life. I missed all of you." Max explained.

"So, where is Liz?" Maria asked again.

"Well, apparently, that was not what Liz had in mind. She didn't want to settle down. She didn't want me to give up the throne. She...She left me. She told me finally, last week, that if i left she was going to go out on her own, so that is what she did. i don't know where she is." Max explained. He left out the part where Liz went crazy and ranted about being the queen for 3 hours.

Maria thought about what he said for a few minutes. "So, you came back here to start a normal life." she finally said. "And you think that it's going to be that easy?" she asked.

"No, i know that i've been a real asshole. I know that, maria. i can never take back what i said to you, but i want to try." Max almost pleaded.

"Well, as for me it is going to take a little work. I want you back in my life, but you hurt me. You used to be my best friend, and then all of a sudden you weren't. I know Izzy misses you. And Michael does too, though i bet he'd rather have his eyes pierced than admit it." Maria said with her singature smile. "I am glad you are back, Max. You're parents are here. Do you want to see them?"

"There here? Why? Oh the wedding." Max answered his own question. "I'm sorry i'm crashing you're wedding week." he appologized.

"Yes, they are here. They are upstairs, probably getting ready for bed. And it's good that you are here, you can see me get married." Maria said with a smile.

Max smiled back, "I'm sorry Liz can't be here." he said honestly.

"Hey, that's her choice." Maria said sadly. "So, what do you say we set you up on the couch, and you can talk to your parents and everyone else tomorrow?"

"Sounds good. i can get a hotel room, though." Max said.

"No way. We've got plenty of room." Maria said. "Jesse!" she yelled for him to come back in.

Jesse, Max, and Maria talked for the next hour before Maria and JEsse finally turned in. When they got to thier room, Maria sighed. "Well, that was un expected." she said.

"Yeah, you ok?" Jesse asked pulling her into bed.

"Yeah. It's weird, but i'm glad Max is here. I wish Liz would get her head out of her ass, but it isn't like i'm suprised." Maria said.

"Just dont worry about it. Think about the wedding, no one is going to ruin it." Jesse assured her.

5 days later: The Wedding...

Maria paced nervously around the small room that she and Isabel were standing in. She was mostly done getting ready, but she was nervous. "Maria, you have to calm down!" Isabel said with a laugh.

"But what if this is a mistake. I mean look at this, you are my Matron of Honor and i'm marrying your ex-husband. This is like Jerry Springer. And Jesse is way too good for me. And Max just got in, and i dont know how i feel about that. I am freaking out!" Maria ranted.

"Maria...MARIA! Look, Jesse and i were never ment to get married. You know that, i know that, Jesse knows that, the whole world knows that. I rushed into it to get back at Max, i know that now. I love Kyle with all of my heart, and i wouldn't want to see You or Jesse with anyone else. So that isn't an issue. And Jesse is the lucky one in the relationship. He is a great man, but you are a great woman. You deserve each other. As far as Max, he didn't mean to crash the wedding. And i know that you are mad at him still, trust me, so am i, but he is happy for you." Isabel explained.

"I know, and i'm gald to see us all moving forward, i'm just being stupid." Maria said.

"No it's ok." Isabel said. "Now, let's zip up that dress and get to the tent to meet Jim."

Jim looked at Maria as she approached him. "You look beautiful, sweetheart." he said kissing her cheek.

"Thank you for walking me down the aisle." Maria said with a smile. When the music started she walked out of the tent and down the aisle, with Jim, her honorary father at her side.

Jesse looked at Maria. She was beautiful. Her hair hung down her back in a strapless dress that fit her like a glove. Kyle patted his back to remind him to breath. Jesse smiled and took Maria's arm as they reached each other.

Within a few minutes, Jesse and maria were married. Maria kissed her new husband and walked back down the aisle.

Amy Deluca and Mrs. Rimerez stood up on the dance floor and said, "We would like to represent Mr. and Mrs. Rimerez." the room clapped as maria and Jesse entered the ballroom.

Maria squeezed Jesse's hand, "See, i told you nothing else matterd," Jesse whispered in her ear.

"I love you so much." Maria said.

The rehearsal dinner was a blast. Everyone had a great time, and danced the night away. Finally, Max worked up the courage to dance with maria. "May I?" he asked Jim.

Jim turned Maria over to Max who gently pushed her around the floor. "It was a really beautiful wedding." Max said shyly.

"Thank you Max. And thank you for being here." Max said.

"I wont leave you alone again," Max said looking into her eyes.

Maria's eyes filled with tears thinking of the full impact and meaning of his words. "I know," she said.

When the dance was over, Maria hugged Max tight and kissed him on the cheek, then she found Jesse, "You ready to leave?" she asked raising an eyebrow.

"You have no idea. Maui, here we come!" he said with a laugh.

"Well, i was thinking the hotel room first," she said grinnig evily.

"I love you," Jesse said kissing his new wife deeply.

"Who would have thought a year ago that we would be here?" Maria said walking out the door with Jesse.

"I wouldn't have. But i'm so glad we got left behind, now." Jesse said.

"Me too." Maria returned smiling and kissing him. "Though i would leave out the part about getting shot." she said with a laugh.

"Yeah, i second that!" Jesse said as they drove off the the hotel room Michael and Serina got them for the night.

Michael, Serina, Kyle, Isabel, and Max watched the couple leave. They would have to cover for them till Amy left. They looked so happy. Serina smiled at Michael. "They are so in love." she said.

"Yeah, they are." Michael answered looking off into space.

Isabel and Kyle turned to the group. "Ok, well we have a babysitter, so what do you say that we cut out of here and hang out all together." Isabel said.

"Sounds good," Michael said.

"I'd love that," Max answered with a smile.
