Oh yeah I even got to buy a piece of coal that had been on the Titanic as a souvenir. They drug them up off the ocean floor along with other stuff. They were selling them for twenty dollars as a way to help raise money to preserve the wreck.

My dad rolled his eyes and said he couldn't believe I'd spend hard earned money for a piece of rock. I think his exact words were "Hell when we get home I can go out back and get you a larger piece of coal for free."

I just couldn't get him to understand that not only was I holding in my hand something that came off a famous piece of US and world history but I was holding a connection to all those people who were there and went through all that stuff.

I don't know if that makes any sense  . Maybe I'm the only one who gets it

I'd spend twice that if they were asking for it!

LOL!

Look what happens when I'm gone for a few hours! This thread takes off!

Since everyone is giving their info, I'll toss in mine:

- I'm a Scorpion (and we're not all bad)
- Love history and the Arts
- Listen to every kind of music (accept Marilyn Manson - he scares me)
- Slugging my way through college
- The last official date I went on was when Underworld (the first one) came out
- Love traveling and can't wait until I can afford to do it internationally!

As far as Titanic goes, when it came out, I got it on VHS and had to go out and buy a second copy because I wore out the first one!

So does this mean that I get a Prince Charming sent to me via UPS?

I need to know when to be home for the delivery.

god I hope so!

Titanic is the best movie of all time! I'm a sucker for tragic love stories. What can I say? They make me cry and I'm a glutton for punishment! :D

I'm also a history buff! Had I known about that exibit, I'd have been first in line!

Once upon a time in a faraway kingdom,
Man made up a story, said that I should believe him.
Go and tell your white knight that he’s handsome in hindsight,
But I don’t want the next best thing.
So I sing, I hold my head down, and I break these walls ’round me.
Can’t take no more of your fairytale love.

killjoy wrote:Now you see there's the double edged sword in all of this.

For a guy having a woman say he's a nice guy is the kiss of death. It's like describing a woman and using the phrase 'but she has a nice personality. 'For we've all heard the saying Nice Guys Finish Last.Well for a lot of times it's true especially when it comes to dating. For a lot of ladies out there, even though most of you will deny it, a nice guy is boring.

Women love that whole 'exciting' or 'dangerous' man angle And will pass up a nice guy becuase....even thought they say that's what their looking for in a relationship.....because they see him as boring compared to the other 'dangerous' guy.
I'm late to the conversation but I saw this and had to comment. When I was in high school, all I wanted was the bad boy because it was exciting but then I graduated and I realized that bad boys are fun but they aren't the type of guy you want to have an actual relationship with. Kind of like frat boys... not really into those either even though it seems like every guy on campus has a shirt with letters across it but that's a whole other story entirely.

My point is that I like nice guys. I want someone who actually reads books and who I can talk to about anything. Even if we don't agree, the fact is that they're willing to listen. So sometimes nice boys don't finish last.

There was a lot of posting while I was out. Killjoy though there is some truth to the "girls want the bad boys thing" there comes a time when you dont want that anymore. You slap yourself in the face and say WTF am I doing? I will tell you for me what the perfect guy is.....a nice guy that is not soft. You dont have to be a whimp to be nice. I like a man that can be sweet with me but that I know I can't walk all over and neither can anyone else. That is the best of both worlds.

P.S. I LOVE Titanic. I have watched it over and over. Its sad. lol

No problem!

Anytime you need a bunch of women to cheer you up - we're here!

That sounded so wrong, but you know what I mean!

And that's nothing... you should hear what we can say about men!

LOL!

You probably would, but I'm not really all that much like Tess and according to your avi. that's what you're into.

After all, she's shorter than me, has blonde curly hair while mine is long, brown to the point of being black, and straight (most of the time). On top of the whole piercing blue eye thing while my eyes change colors according to my mood - and they'll look different in my different clothes.

Sorry darlin!

But I'll keep in mind if you ever want to hear a rant about men. I've let off some steam about that very subject to another guy on this board, and I'm sure that after reading that PM, he was almost afraid to open the next one! (Just kiddin!)

It's really quite sad... I'm not even 21 yet (but only a handful of months to go! w00t!) and I can already rip into 'em like the best of 'em!

It's a gift!

That whole taking notes thing? You might need a laptop that's plugged in so that the battery doesn't die and a couple dozen CDs so that when the computer starts getting overloaded you can burn the stuff and move on to the next point!

I'm really not that bad... Just don't do anything that you wouldn't want me to do to you... and even then, think long and hard about it! (I am after all a Scorpio!)

Scared yet?

I thought so!

My job is done!

But in all seriousness, I'm not a femi-nazi.

I just don't like it when guys try to tell me what to do! Blah!

Okay... opening up the wine now!

w00t!

Actually Emilie is not what I most look for when it comes to the looks department.I mean don't get me wrong she's hot and there was something about her that caught me right off the bat.I believe it was all those curls she had. Some men like breast, some like legs and there are even butt fans out there but for me,it's hair.

I like long black hair.....Kristin Kruek,Chrisma Carpenter,Catherine Zeta-Jones.....but the main word there is long.I like long curly hair when it comes to women. Now I'd prefer jet black but in the end I don't care what color it is.

For example:Charisma Carpenter (before she cut it all off), Debra Messing,Portie de Rossi,Amy Acker.

Plus Emilie is short, not saying I'd pass on a short girl but I'm six foot and I like a tall girl whose almost as tall as me.

But in the end it's just hair and height and that dosen't make the person,so I guess it's not that big of a deal after all.
