Doctor does seem to be trying to help Liz. Liz needs to open up to the doctor and let her know what Liz's first step family told her and did. But I'm guessing it may take a while for Liz to tell the doctor anything. Love the
way Kyle is being there for Serena.

And the fact that it was drilled into her head that she was mistake..........that's not easy to overcome or forget.

Carolyn It will take time for Liz to learn that what was drilled into her for the first several years of her life was wrong. It will also take time for them to find out what else happened.

L-J-L 76 Dr. Davis is trying to help Liz. But until Liz is ready for help it will be a long way to go. Kyle is a good guy.





Part 13

After spending an hour and half with Dr. Davis, Liz was taken to her room. She walked in to see another girl there.

"Liz, this is Carolyn. The two of you will be sharing this room. There are a few rules. No boys on the girls floor, no girls on the boys floor. Lights out is eleven. There is no smoking, drinking or drugs aloud." Said Dr. Davis
"Yeah whatever." Mumbled Liz

Dr. Davis left and Liz walked over to what was to be her bed and sat down. Carolyn looked at her new roommate and wondered what was going on with the girl.

"So uh Liz right?" Asked Carolyn
"Yeah."
"So why are you here?"
"I like to use sharp objects to cut myself."
"Why?"
"Don't know and don't really care. Unfortunately for me the last time I played with my pocket knife I hit a vain. Now my parents think I was trying to kill myself."
"You weren't?"
"Do try and shrink me!"
"I'm not."
"Yeah so what you do?"
"I uh sometimes hear voices in my head. One of them told me to hurt my little sister. I did and got sent here."
"Great I am stuck rooming with a schizo." Mumbled Liz
"You know some people believe cutting is a sign of schizophrenia."
"Like I care."
"Liz, I am not any happier about being here then you are. But the fact is neither of us is going anywhere until they decide that we are better. Hell I know that I more then likely will be on medication for the rest of my life to keep the voices away. The fact is I love my sister Amber and I hate that I hurt her. I may not like it here but I also never want to hurt her or anyone else again."
"I don't really care. I just want to get out of here and get on with my life."

Carolyn watched Liz and knew there had to be something there that caused her to be the way she was.

Max walked into his house and dropped his books on the kitchen table. He walked over to the refrigerator and pulled out the orange juice and started to drink right from the carton.

"Maxwell Evans! How many times do I have to tell you not to do that!"

Max turned and saw his mom glaring at him.

"Oh hi mom." Said Max
"Hi mom. Is that all you have to say for yourself young man?"
"Sorry."
"Max what is wrong?"
"It's Liz."
"Liz, is she OK?"
"Serena said that Liz is going to recover. But she also won't be back at school for a while."
"What is wrong with her?"
"They don't know. They think there is something psychologically wrong."
"It is very possible that there is. From what I know about people who self harm like it seems Liz has been doing there is a lot of times something psychologically wrong. It could be any number of things. Depression, bipolar disorder, or even schizophrenia."
"Liz isn't crazy!"
"None of those things mean she is. Most of those illnesses are caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. It is something that she was born with."
"Why wouldn't it have shown up before now?"
"Honey, puberty causes a lot of changes in the body as you know."
"Yeah."
"So those changes are what a lot of times trigger these things."
"Is there anything I can do?"
"Just remain her friend. Make sure she knows that you will always be there for her."
"Serena has to find out if Liz can get mail or email while in the hospital."
"Why don't you write her a letter just in case?"
"I will thanks mom."

Max hugged Diane and headed for his room.

So Liz got a room mate that hears voices in her head. Liz's room mate Carolyn is trying to be her friend. But I think it will be a while before Liz and Carolyn will talk to each other and try to be friends. Everyone is so worried about Liz. Hopefully Max and others will be able to write Liz and let her know she is loved.

Part 14

Serena walked into her house after school and found her mom waiting for her.

"Hi honey." Said Nancy
"Hi mom. Is Liz going to be OK?"
"Yes honey. Liz is going to be in the hospital for a while. They first need to find out what has been causing her to hurt herself. Then they will have to find the best treatment for her."
"Will Liz be able to get mail or email while she is there?"
"Yes. I will give you the address she can be written at for your friends."
"What about visitors?"
"Not for a couple weeks. But she will at be aloud visitors in about a month."
"OK."
"Rena, we all want Liz to get better."
"I know."

Nancy pulled Serena into her arms and held her.

"Why did this happen to Liz?" Asked Serena
"Honey I don't know. But she will get help now. Serena, Liz has always had a harder time adjusting then you have. The doctors think that she was born with a chemical imbalance."
"What does that mean?"
"It means that that even if Liz hadn't been abused she might have ended up this way."
"Nothing could have been done?"
"No honey. But there are ways to help her have a normal life."
"I love her mom."
"We all do. I know she never has told you. But I believe that she does love you."
"I know. I just wish that I knew how bad she really was."
"No one did."

Liz sat and stared at the other teenagers in the room. She was being forced to attend group therapy. But like hell she was going to tell these people anything about herself. This was the last place she wanted to be. She didn't want anything to do with these kids that had mommy and daddy issues. Or the ones that were just plain crazy. So what if she liked to cut herself? She wouldn't even be here if she hadn't gotten careless and cut her vain.

"Liz, do you want to share why you are here?" Asked Dr. Davis
"Not going to happen." Said Liz
"Look princess none of us really wants to be here. But the fact is you ain't going nowhere until you start talking." Said a boy about her age with sandy blond hair, blue eyes with a skull tattoo on his right arm dressed in black.
"You know nothing about me. So drop it asshole." Said Liz
"Liz, Oscar that is enough." Said Dr. Davis
"Doc, I told you I want to be called Blaze." Said Oscar
"OK sorry Blaze." Said Dr. Davis
"We cool. So come on princess talk. Why you been slicing yourself?" Asked Blaze

Liz glared at the boy got up and walked out of the room. Blaze smirked he wouldn't mind finding out what was going on in the head of the princess.

"Stay away from her Blaze." Said Carolyn
"Don't worry darling there is enough of Blaze to go around."
"You are a sick fucker." Said Carolyn

Blaze just smiled as Carolyn got up and left the room.

"Blaze, you know that sex between patients is not aloud." Said Dr. Davis
"Yo Doc, I ain't forgot. Besides we both know that I ain't in to that shit."
"Right. OK everyone we are going to end group early today. But be back here tomorrow at the normal time. Also don't forget about your regular individual sessions." Said Dr. Davis

The group headed out. Dr. Davis wondered how she was going to help Liz. She really hoped that by putting her with Carolyn that she would begin to open up.

Carolyn followed Liz out into the hospital garden where she found her crying.

"Hey you ok?" Asked Carolyn
"Leave me alone." Said Liz
"Liz, look I got no clue what is going on with you. But you are going to have to talk about whatever is bothering you. You won't leave until the doc thinks you are no longer a danger to yourself."
"Just shut up and leave me alone!"

Carolyn shook her head and headed back to her room.

Finally everyone will be able to write Liz. Maybe that will make Liz want to be helped. So glad that the doctor and Carolyn are trying to help Liz. Blaze is going to start some trouble. So glad the doctor reminded Blaze the rules. Carolyn is trying to be a good friend to Liz which Liz needs while she is there.

Part 15

Max walked up to the Parker house. He found Serena sitting on the porch watching the sun set.

"Hey." Said Max
"Hi Max."
"Any word on how Liz is?"
"No. My mom said you can write her."
"That's good."
"Max, do you feel something other then friendship for Liz?"
"What do you mean?"
"Be honest Max. Are you in love with Liz?"

Max looked at Serena and took a deep breath and nodded.

"Max, I hope you know that Liz might not be able to express how she feels now. But I think she really loves you too. You might be the best thing to have happened to her."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Don't worry Liz is going to get better."
"I hope so."

Serena hugged Max. She was glad that her sister had found such a good friend.

Tommy watched Serena with Max Evans. Max Evans was a goody goody. Not that he cared. No one was going to stop him from going after what he wanted. But it was to early to make his move. But he had to wait until he could get Serena alone. Oh he would let her live but make sure she understands she would die if she said anything. He had no problem with killing if he had too.

Liz walked into her room and saw Carolyn reading a book.

"Sorry." Said Liz
"Liz it is ok."
"No it isn't. I shouldn't be such a bitch to you."
"Liz, you need to watch out for Blaze. I think he might be dangerous."
"Why is he here?"
"He is sort of a pyromaniac."
"What?"
"He sets things on fire just for the hell of it."
"That is scary."
"Liz are you afraid of fire?"
"Yes. I had a foster father that set the house on fire when I was really little. I wasn't hurt but it has scared me ever since."
"Liz, you really should talk in the group. It will help you feel better."
"Maybe I will think about it."

Carolyn nodded. Liz knew the other girl was trying to help. But Liz still didn't know how to talk about what she went through as a kid.

So Max finally admit he has more then friendship feelings for Liz. Hopefully when Max writes Liz he will let her know how he feels. Glad Max and Serena talk. So glad that Carolyn and Liz are talking. Agree with Carolyn about Blaze. Also agree with Carolyn about Liz talking in the group.
