I walk next to him and gently reach out, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"It's Liz isn't it??" I say, "What happened? What did she say, Max?"

I don't say anything for a long moment. Finally I mutter "She didn't sleep with Kyle."

I frown. What is he talking about? Liz didn't sleep with Kyle? Max thought Liz had slept with Kyle. What the hell's going on here?

"Well..." I begin, still frowning. "That's...very good." I pause. I have to tell them about Khivar.

"Max, look, I know we really need to talk but we have a major problem." I say, "Khivar's here. In the Crashdown. Sitting in the booth next to Kyle's."

I block her out after that. She doesnt understand. No one understands. I ruined everything. Im alone. I have a son who would be better off without me, I have friends who I barely talk to, I was the cause of Alex's death...and I had Liz...and ruined it.

"I killed Alex" I mutter.

"Tess never would have been apart of it if it werent for me...if I had just not come back...if I would have left things as they were...more time...Alex...Liz....Its all my fault. I killed him."

I start shaking from the sobs that escape my lips.
