What if Alex had never been let in on the secret?
The idea is that after Liz and Maria drop him like a rock halfway through high school Alex turns to his band and his music to feel the hole in his life.He pours all his time,hurt,anger and feelings into his music.Soon after graduation he becomes a famous rock star with tons of money,fame and fans but deep down he's still just as unhappy as he was back in high school.....except he keeps it a secret.
But guess Alex's shock when he comes home to his mansion after a long tour to find seven old 'friends' from high school hiding out in it.Seems that the gang while on the run after graduation had a close call with the gov't and knowing Alex's place was close by decided to hide out there.
Will they finally let Alex in on their secret? Will he make peace with Liz and Maria? Will he and Isabel ever have a shot?
Tess and Kyle were let in on the secret and joined the gang just like they did on the show.
No destiny or baby Zan crap.

What if the aliens weren't quite so paranoid and they adjusted a little better to human society but they still don't tell anyone?
Max actually acts on his feelings for Liz... they've been inseparable for years and are currently dating; everyone at school tease them about being Romeo and Juliet because it's obvious how much they love each other but she still doesn't know his secret.
Michael and Maria have this flirting/fighting thing going on but they aren't an official couple... at least not yet.
Max and Michael both have a circle of friends who aren't in on the alien secret.
Isabel is the least changed from the cannon cause it seemed she sorta had friends outside the group to begin with in the show. So she dates regularly but no one serious and she isn't interested in Alex.... yet (too geeky for her popular girl image).
So this is the situation our teens find themselves in at the time of the shooting when Max doesn't hesitate to save his girlfriend.
All the other elements are still out there (The Sheriff, Nasedo, Tess, Toposlky, Pierce) but you can decide when and if any of them come into play and they can be dealt with quite differently if you'd like. Perhaps you'd like to follow the cannon story arch closely or deviate from it entirely. Either way just no EOTW or TEX.

The gang are all young adults in college,but here's the catch.Max,Michael,Isabel and Tess are all from another country living in the US and going to school on student visas.What country the four are from is up too you.You can pick a real one,make Antar a country instead of a planet....do what you want.
Anyway like I said the gang are all in school and Max and Liz have been dating for some time and are madly in love.But as it normaly goes something goes wrong.Seems there was snafu some where when it comes to the visas the gang has....maybe some missfiled paperwork....the post office lost their alert....some thing but whatever it is it has left them all with expired visas and they are now facing deportation back to their home country
Upset and not wanting to lose Max,Liz throws her high IQ into finding a way for Max to stay in the country.Sadly the only way she can find for Max to stay is if he marries a US citizen.Now normally Liz would have no problem marrying Max so he could stay in the country.But Liz knows Max she knows he will not marry her and let the others get thrown out.She knows that if they go Max goes too.So the only way for this to work is if Liz can find a few others to marry Michael,Tess and Isabel too
Enter her friends...
How will Liz convince her friends Alex,Maria and Kyle to not only go along with the crazy idea of hers but to get married to people they hardly know.....or in Michael and Maria's case hardly like?!
How will Tess,Isabel and Michael feel about all of this?
Will this plan work and will the gang be able to stay in the country? And if so will they slowly become real married couples? And when it's all said and done and schools over will any of them want to stay married?

Back during high school Kyle and Tess were childhood sweethearts.But sadly Tess broke Kyle's heart when she broke up with him and left Roswell heading for Hollyweod in hopes of stardom.Years later Tess has made her place in Hollywood as a big star but her star status is slowly slipping and hitting a slump
Back in Roswell for her class reunion Tess has a run in with Kyle.They have a heated debate over...you decide...she quickly turns to go and either breaks a high heel,stumbles or something like that...but what happens is she falls right into Kyle who catches her.The catch plasters Tess all over Kyle and the press is there to quickly snap a photo of it.
The next day everyone including Kyle and Tess are shocked to see the picture plastered all over tv,magiznes and papers...with a big headline talking about how the big Hollywood star Tess Harding has found love once again with her childhood sweetheart.But just as Tess is about to go set the record straight her agent calls and tells her that the public is eating up this supposed new romantic angle of hers and her popularity is soaring.The agent begs Tess to stay in Roswell for awhile and stay with Kyle in hopes the press will snap more pictures and report on them.
Deep down Tess is a nice person and still holds a torch for Kyle so she's not really feeling good on this whole lying to Kyle.Especially when the misstrusting Kyle slowly starts to come around and fall for Tess again.And with Tess falling for Kyle again everything starts to get complicated....and what happens when Kyle finds out that the whole reason Tess was spending time with him was becaue of her agent?

This challenge idea is in the form of messing with all the Roswell fanfiction sterotypes that have developed over the years.All the character sterotypes that have developed must not be seen in the story or they must be the complete opposite.
For example all of these sterotypes can NOT be seen in the story.
Max can not be a doctor of any kind.He must have nothing to do with helping or cure humans in anyway.He can't even be a vet working with animals.Max is no where near a romantic guy and in fact wouldn't know how to romance anyone to save his life.
Kyle can not be a cop or any form of security work.
Michael can not be an artist in any way nor can he have anything to do with cooking.
Maria can not sing in the story and in fact hates to sing.
Michael and Maria can not fight at all in the story.In fact Michael and Maria have the most stable,loving relationship of all the couples and NEVER fight at all.
This are the opposite of the sterotypes that MUST be in the story.
Alex is a cool stud who all women lust after and who can get any woman any time he wants.Alex hates playing music and thinks computers are for nerds.
Isabel is the town's biggest nerd who...loves computers....and couldn't get a date if her life depended on it.
Kyle is a brain who hates sports and thinks all jocks are morons.
Tess is a shy very lost girl who has no plans for the future or ideas on her life.Plus she HATES Max with a passion.
Max is a total jerk and Liz is a right bitch.The two have hated each other for years and how to get them to fall in love is up too you.
Michael is a very emotional guy who likes to talk about and share his feelings way too much.
Maria is also a very quiet shy girl who keeps things bottled up inside and is too scared to voice her thoughts.The fact Michael likes to talk all the time about his feelings and tries to get Maria to share hers gets on Maria's nerves a lot.
If she's in the story Amy is the town lawwoman while Jim is an ex hippie who catches the by the book law woman's eye
Mrs Evans is one of the greatest cooks of all time.
There you go....that's all there is.The how,what,where and why of the story is all free for you to make up....the only thing you must remember is to use the guidelines above in doing the story.

Liz Parker owns the Crashdown and has ran it ever since the death of her parents.She loves the restaurant and loves running it,not only because it is her home but it makes her feel closer to her now gone parents.Liz is not making money hand over fist but she's getting by.
Well that is until the Evan's family came to town.The Evans are a rich business family who own a chain of state of the art,high class restaurants that are found all over the US.And they have now opened one in Roswell....and it is slowly killing Liz's beloved Crashdown.The Evan's new restaurant is slowly taking away the Crashdown's customers.
Max Evans is the one day heir to the great Evans restaurant chain.But he must first prove himself to his over bearing hard driving father.He is put in charge of the new Roswell restaurant and plans to make it a huge success and prove to his father he can make it.One day bored and a tad curious Max wanders into the Crashdown just to check out the 'other' guys.There he meets Liz.As he sits and listens to her tell him the history of her life in the Crashdown Max falls hard for her.But when he hears her tell of how she feels of the new Evan's restaurant and the Evans family he knows he can't tell her who he really is as he tries to get too know her better.
So Max and Liz began to hang out in the Crashdown and outside of it.Getting to know one another and falling in love and Max doing his best to keep who he really is from Liz as long as he can....or until he can find a way to tell Liz the truth.

Both Tess and Michael are Evan's childeren too.They could have all four been born at the same time or they can each have their own age.

Max Evans is the son of Zan and Ava Evans. Zan and Ava Evans are rich. Really, REALLY, REALLY rich. Trillionaire type rich. Young Max was growing up to be spoiled and self absorbed and his parents didn't want that. So when Max was in the third grade the found a slightly better than poor couple, Diane and Philip Evans, to help raise him.
Max lives with Diane and Philip Evans and he has to live their lifestyle. As he grows up he has to get a job to pay for any spending money he wants and when he gets a scholarship to Harvard, where he intends to get a business degree, it doesn't pay for all of his living expenses so he has to work his way through college too.
Now his parents love him and they don't disappear from his life. They visit him regularly and make sure he knows they love him, that they are doing this for his own good to teach him humility. They have an agreement. If he keeps his origins a secret and learns to manage his limited resources, and to treat others with respect, then on his 21st birthday he will gain unlimited access to his families money.
Kyle Valenti is the son of Jim and Amy Valenti. Jim and Amy Valenti are rich. Multi-millionaire type rich. Kyle does grow up to be spoiled and self absorbed. He's never had a problem he couldn't solve by throwing money at it. When he goes to Harvard for his own business degree, he and Max become rivals. In instances where money is the primary factor Kyle usually wins. In instances that brains or brawns are the primary factors Max usually shows Kyle up.
During their second year at College a new contest starts between them and Max just hopes she can't be bought.
Enter Liz Parker.
It's her freshman year and she's studying Molecular Biology. She finds herself being courted by both Kyle and Max. She starts dating them both making sure they both knew she wasn't agreeing to be exclusive. Kyle lavishes her with expensive gifts, but Max is a true gentleman and is better at romance. As both men vie for her affections she gets into several heated make-out sessions with each of them, but she won't sleep with either of them until she chooses one.
The competition continues until the day before Max's 21st birthday when he takes her out for the most romantic evening of her life which ends in a proposal. After she accepts they go back to Max's apartment and sleep together. The next morning they are awoken by the Limo driver coming to pick Max up and take him to his families Mansion in Cambridge. On the ride over Max explains his situation to Liz; including his early misbehavior and the deal with his parents.
Liz has to get upset about it and Max has to ask her something like "If I had grown up to be an arrogant jerk just like Kyle only worse cause I was richer, would I really have still stood a chance at winning your heart?" (You don't have to use those exact words just the concept. And the answer has to be some form of NO"
Then Kyle has to find out about both Max winning Liz's heart and his "inheritance" and take the news really badly. You can decide what he tries to do in retribution but a happy dreamer ending is a must.

Alex and Isabel know each other some how......it's up to you to figure out how....anyway the two meet for coffee once a week to talk and see each other.They discuss a lot of stuff but there is one thing that is getting too them...which is this.
Isabel grew up with a circle of boys that are like brothers to her....Max,Michael and Kyle...well Max is her real brother....but she loves Michael and Kyle just the same.But there is one problem,the three young men are in her life every second of the day and it's driving her crazy! She needs to find girlfriends for them so they'll have something else to fill their time and she can have a moment of peace to herself.
Alex on the other hand is the complete opposite.He grew up with a group of females.......Liz,Maria and Tess.He loves them like sisters and they adore him.So much that they think NO woman is good enough for him.So they always end up chasing off any woman Alex's dates before he can go out with said female for more than two dates! Alex decides to work with Isabel in fixing up his girls so they'll be too busy to run his life or chase off his dates!
Of course some where down the line Alex and Isabel fall for each other

At the start of this story Max will be with Tess....and Kyle will be with Liz but in the end everything will work out CC.
If there is anything that is known at Roswell High it is the fact that Liz Parker and Tess Harding can NOT stand one another.No one knows why this is nor can anyone understand it.The two girls move in two different school circles.Tess is the popular one.....cheerleader,best friend to isabel Evans(aka Ice Queen of Roswell High) and all that jazz.Liz on the other hand is a bookworm,honor student and no where near the cool standing that Tess has.But the fact is the two girls can not get along at all.In fact the mere mention of one's name to the other will make the young lady cringe up in anger.
That's why it is a HUGE shock when a teacher pits Liz and Tess as partners in a class project.Everyone....including them is expecting them to fail...maybe kill each other along the way.But it's during the time of them working on their project does Tess and Liz have it out once and for all.And the real reason for their dislike comes out.
Seems that Tess is dating Max Evans and is unhappy.Liz is dating Kyle Valenti and is also unhappy with her relationship.Seems that the two girls are jealous of what the other has and that jealousy has turned to anger and resentment toward each other.When the two girls realize what's going on they make a truce and decide to work together in getting what they want.......each other's man.
MUST HAVES
Tess nor Liz are the bad guys....uhhh girls....in this story.They're both just jealous and letting their anger out at one another at the start of the story.
When the two girls start to work together in swapping boyfriends,Isabel...Tess's best friend...and Maria and Alex....Liz's best friend can't quite figure out why the two are getting along so well with one another.
