"You think I'm irresistible?" he asks as he runs his hands down my back.
"I don't even think I could stop kissing you right now."
I grin as I lean towards him, when the door bangs open. I turn to see Laura in tears. Oh God, the poor thing! I open my mouth to say something but Oliver gets in there first.
"Laura... What happened?" he pulls away from me to look after Laura.
"Nothing, it's Tyler... and Sabrina..."
Oh God...poor Laura! He doesn't deserve a great girl like Laura.
"I'll kill him," Oliver says quickly. I roll my eyes, yeah...like thats what Laura reallllly wants him to do right now...beat him up.
"No! Don't Oliver... it's not his fault that I like him. It's not his fault that he doesn't like me." she whispers.
"Sorry I interrupted, I'm just going to go..."
"No!" I say quickly "No, you can't just leave," Oliver says at the same time.
I quickly go over to her and wrap her in a hug. "Oh Laura...is there anything I can do? We could go elsewhere or something?" I say quickly. I don't really want to do it, but I would do anything for Laura.

"Well, since none of that jock/wallflower stuff matters to me, um, Sabrina Whitman, would you like to uh, go out with me?" Tyler asks me and I'm taken by complete surprise. He'd really just asked me to go out with him? I know my eyes are probably wide and I know I more then likely look like a smiling idiot, but as I begin nodding I can't help it.

"Yes, Tyler Guerin. I'd love to go out with you." I reply happily. Me, Tyler's girlfriend? I had dreamed, but never thought it would really happen. I can't wait to share the news with my brother.

'Yeah, we are fine....now.' I hear my brother's reply and feel relieved before hearing him add, 'We'll be out in a few. We definately need to talk.'

I grin as I reply to my brother, Yes, we certainly do, but you can take your time, bro.

I look into Ty's eyes and lean toward him, pressing my lips against his for the barest of moments before simply smiling as I ask, "So.. after the party is over, wanna go talk somewhere? I kind of can't stay away from the stage for too long otherwise my bandmates might regret helping me have the guts to sing that song to you." I feel myself blush as I add softly, "I wrote it a few months ago."

I watched as Amy went over and hugged Laura. "Oh Laura... is there anything I can do? We could go elsewhere or something?" She asked, and a feeling of longing went through my body. I didn't want her to leave, but I couldn't deny that my sister needed help.

"Hey, I'll go back inside, ok?" I asked, kissing Amy on her forehead and then throwing an arm around Laura. I pulled her into a gruff hug.

"It'll be ok sis. And just remember, if you ever want me to beat the living hell out of him, I'll do so in a minute. Just say when," I said, saying it more so to make her laugh than to actually convince her of it. "I'm a very intimidating guy," I joked. She laughed weakly.

"Are you sure? I don't want to ruin this night for you, Amy's been dreaming about you two getting together for a long time..." Laura drifted off, apparently unaware of how red Amy's face turned. I sent her a sympathetic smile.

"No problem, just come find me later, ok?" I added to Amy. Then I open the door and walked back into the building, feeling the loss of Amy's presence.

"Her presence?" I asked myself, disgusted. "God, you're so whipped."

~James~

Despite the crowded dance floor, I only have eyes for the girl in my arms as we dance, our bodies melding, the melody taking over. I can't resist holding her as closely as I can, knowing that my response to her is obvious. Now's the time, I think to myself.

“Are you going to kiss me or what?” She asks and I look into her eyes as she lifts her brow.

With a smirk, I lean down and place my lips next to her ear as I tell her, "I've been thinking about it." With a light chuckle, I can't resist nipping at her ear lightly before capturing her lips in a sizzling passionate kiss. Lord, it felt so great. Her lips were soft and sweet as I placed my hand in her hair and held her to me.

"You are so damned hot." I murmur before kissing her again, this time I let it linger, flicking my tongue over her lips.

"Hey, I'll go back inside, ok?"
I turn to look at him. I really don't want him to go...
He kisses me on the forehead and gives Laura a hug.
"It'll be ok sis. And just remember, if you ever want me to beat the living hell out of him, I'll do so in a minute. Just say when. I'm a very intimidating guy"
I smile and she laughs.
"Are you sure? I don't want to ruin this night for you, Amy's been dreaming about you two getting together for a long time..."
Thanks for that Laura! I can feel myself blushing madly. Thanks a lot.
"No problem, just come find me later, ok?"
I give him a small smile and nodd. I watch as he leaves.
I then turn to Laura.
"So...do you want to talk about it or would you rather we didn't? Completely your call" I tell her.

"So... do you want to talk about it, or would you rather we didn't? Completely your call." She said after Oliver had left. I turned towards her.

"I'm so happy for you two. I know you probably won't believe me, because I'm always telling you what a loser he is but... at least he likes you back."

Tears welled in my eyes again. I hated this feeling. This feeling that some jackass had the power to hurt me. And that that ass probably didn't even care; he was probably making out with Sabrina somewhere.

"You know how I snapped at him today, at the cafe? Well, I was going to apologize, 'cause I know I embarrassed him. I wanted to move on; I thought it would be easy," I gave a bitter laugh. "Anyway, I was standing right next to him, talking to him, when all of a sudden she starts singing. She walks over to him, and it's easy to see that she wrote that stupid song for him. And then he just ignores me, like I wasn't even there. She was the only one he could see.

"So I lost it, and I told him that he was blind if he couldn't see how much I cared about him, and that we couldn't be friends anymore." I finished sadly.

Even though I was thinking about my own problems, I couldn't help but think that I shouldn't have said anything. Because I could see how this whole thing might split our group apart. I told Amy, and she would most likely jump on my side. Her sister might be on my side too, but she was also best friends with Christina, Tyler's brother. That might split them up, since Christina was sure to back up Tyler, or it might split the twins up, because Amy would be behind me. Erik would side with Sabrina, of course, which might pull Marie to their side. James was best friends with Tyler, but also had a thing for Lily, so who knew what kind of chaos that would cause there. Oliver would, of course, be with me on this. I could see all the rifts now.

I see tears well in her eyes and I immediately lose my smile. God, how could he do this to her.

I look at her and can see her not altogether worried and upset for herself. "Laura, don't worry about anyone else. We'll get through this. Besides, everyone will deal with themselves. Lets just worry about you ok?" I tell her.
"Do you want to get a drink or something? Or is there anything I can do?"

"That was brave of you. And if that jerk doesn't see how amazing you are, then who needs him." She said. I smiled a bit. She was right. Who needed him? I frowned as I tried to ignore the little voice in the back of my mind that said, 'I do.' Because I didn't. I just wanted him.

"Laura, don't worry about anyone else. We'll get through this. Besides, everyone will deal with themselves. Lets just worry about you ok?"

I nodded. She had always had a gift for understanding what I was thinking, even when I didn't say anything out loud. It was what made her such a good friend, what made me trust her above everyone else, with the possible exception of my mother.

"Do you want to get a drink or something? Or is there anything I can do?"

"A drink would be good." I said hoarsely, just now realizing how dry and scratchy my throat was. I wiped my face with my hands, trying to remove the tear stains and the makeup that had started to run down my face. "How do I look?" I asked uncertainly.

"A drink would be good." she says in a crackling voice. I giver her a smile...shes a fighter.
She wipes her face with her hand.
"How do I look?"
To be brutally honest...she looks like shes been crying.
"Hang on" I say quickly. I rummage through the bag that Lily had insisted I took with me with some makeup and instructions on how long to leave it before reapplying.
I carefully apply the make up, not sure if Im doing it right, because to be honest other than the touch of lipstick, I never use it.
When Im done I hand her a small compact mirror.
"You look beautiful" I tell her. I give her a smile. "And you know what, even if he doesnt drop dead by your beauty, Im sure some other guy will"

"Hang on," She said, and then she pulled some makeup out of her handbag. I sat quietly while she applied it. When she finished, she handed my the small mirror. I looked into it, not sure if I was going to like what I saw. Amy never used makeup, after all. I was pleasantly surprised, however, when I saw that she'd done a very good job.

"You look beautiful. And you know what, even if he doesn't drop dead because of your beauty, I'm sure some other guy will."

I laughed. "Yeah, sure. But come on, let's go." I stood up, took a deep breath, and then walked through the door. When I walked in I noticed that the party was still going, but Sabrina was nowhere to be seen. I didn't have to look around to know Tyler wasn't here either. Holding back a deep sigh, I walked to the refreshments table. I took a cup of punch, and then handed one to Amy.

"So, how's you're night been?" I asked, smirking at her.
