Liz comes over and stands next to me while agreeing with Isabel's suggestion. I can actually smell her perfume. She looks at me with such a soft expression in her eyes. How can she do that? I know that just because she isn't interested in me, it doesn't mean that we can't be friends. But she's so much better at it than I am. Acting like there's nothing between us. Like she hadn't been complaining to Alex about me. Maybe this last week of friendliness has worked. I guess she's forgiven me for thinking of her that way ... Too bad I can't seem to stop thinking of her that way.
She lightly touches my arm and I just about go into orbit. "Everything okay?" she asks quietly. So quietly that I'm not even sure if Tess hears it and she's just on the other side of me.
"Yeah. Everything's fine," I tell her. Suddenly, Michael's idiotic attitude and posturing doesn't really seem so serious. I mean, it's just Michael. He's always like that.
"So where is this place?" I ask Isabel, trying to ignore the way my pulse is still racing -- this time because of Liz's being near and not because of Michael's annoying behavior. "I'm sure someone can drop Michael off on the way."
Hmm. That sounds pretty good now that I've said it. We can drop him off and leave him there. He can find his own way to the club -- with or without whatever new car he imagine's he's going to buy.

"So where is this place?" Max asks me before quickly adding, “I'm sure someone can drop Michael off on the way."
“Its right down the south end of the beach. Apparently, you can’t miss it.” I say as I rummage through my purse. Finding what I was looking for, I wave the scrape piece of paper in the air. “Tina from upstairs gave me some directions. She wasn‘t sure who was playing tonight though but I bet that it will be awesome.”

Guess that means Max won't drop him off. Maybe Liz will, so far, she seems to get along with everyone. Not that I'm surprised, she seems that kind of person who everyone wants as a friend.

I move slightly behind Isabel so I can read the flyer. The graphics of it certainly look good and make you curious about the band. "I think someone from my departement mentioned them once. Saying they were playing a lot of different type of music styles."

They are heading back to the house first before the club/bar, yeah?

~*~ ~*~ ~*~ Liz ~*~ ~*~ ~*~

I feel Max tense up when I touch his arm, and I immediately end the contact. “Yeah. Everything’s fine,” he says, a slight curt edge to his tone. The friendly gesture of touching his arm to get his attention had the opposite effect, putting him more on edge than he was before. No need to make him more uncomfortable than he already was, I pull away and take a small step away from him.
“So where is this place? I’m sure someone can drop Michael off along the way,” Max asks Izzy.
Pulling the keys out of my bag, I toy with them absently as Izzy fishes some paper out of her bag.
“It’s right down the south end of the beach. Apparently you can’t miss it. Tina from upstairs gave me some directions. She wasn‘t sure who was playing tonight though but I bet that it will be awesome.”
Alex takes a glance at the flyer Izzy’s holding. It seems he’s heard of it too.
“Sounds great. Who’s riding with me and Tess?” Max adds.
I turn to Michael, knowing he doesn’t like to ride the van, but I’m willing to go with him to the dealership so he can get whatever it is that he wanted to get. “I can take you down to the dealership,” I say. “That is, if you don’t mind. You can even drive there, Michael, if you’d like.”

OOC -- Does Maria have her Jetta today?
*Max*
Liz moves away and I wonder what I did. It was too much. Did she notice how much I liked having her there? Did Tess? I look at Tess from the corner of my eye but she doesn't seem to have had any reaction. In fact, she seems to be watching Kyle. I take advantage of that and let my own gaze drift back to Liz. Why do I keep messing this up? Why can't I just figure out how to be friends with her?
Because I want more. I want so much more and I know it's never going to happen.
She offers to give Michael a ride in the van. We really should give up on using that thing and leave it to the camera crew but since I'm not ever riding in it anymore, I guess I don't have much to say in the matter.
Of course, I should have known she'd reach out to Michael. She's friends with everyone. How does she do it? She's just perfect in everyway. Actually, Tess doesn't seem to mind Michael, either. Maybe it's just me.
*Michael*
Liz. Liz wants me to ride in the van with her. Riding in the van gives me the creeps. I usually manage to 'borrow' one of the other cars when I go out clubbing. And riding with Liz -- well that doesn't further any of my agendas at all. But if it gets me my bike then this could be the last time I'll have to subject myself to that.
"Sure, why not," I say, taking the keys from Liz. "We'll meet you there."
I go around to the driver's side and get behind the wheel while I wait for Liz to join me. Izzy's got her own car, but Alex and Kyle might be coming along, too. Unless they don't want to bother with the detour.

hm, how about we say Maria's not with the Jetta and driving with one of the others? this way, we can include her some more (even though we'd have to do the Maria parts in conversations too)
KYLE
When Max unlocks his door, I immediately move to the car. I did drive to work with Liz earlier but since she's taking Michael to the dealership and I really need to use the toilet soon, I'll take my ride back with Max. Things with me and Isabel are still a bit uneven and I can't really let drive Tess all alone with Max, now can I?
Hm, maybe I should sunbath a bit today, making sure that Tess spots me without a shirt? I mean, honestly, I have no idea how she could resist my body for so long!
"About time that the week's over, isn't it?" I ask Tess with a grin. Okay, I still have to work tomorrow but lets do some small talk.
ALEX
Kyle, Max and Tess in one car, Liz and Michael in the second which leaves Maria and Isabel in Isabel's car. Guess I'll drive back with the two girls who also took me to work this morning since we three started at the same time. In the morning, the drive was surprisingly funny with the girls sharing their not so nice opinion about Michael's latest fling.
It was to be expected that Maria's not too fond of ... of ... the girl (how can I remember the names when Michael has a new girl every two-three days, I doubt he remembers) since she likes Michael and Isabel just likes to be sarcastic about everyone.
Okay, I'm a bit worried what they'd say about me if I don't drive with them. Or Ashley for that matter. Probably something about being a doormat because she took her ex back.
"Anything exciting happening at work today ladies?" I ask the two as we walk over to the BMW. "Aside from your Sex and the City like talk on air that you had Maria."

“Your talk was awesome, Maria. I love Sex and the City. It is the best television show ever.” I state, unlocking my car. “It sucks that it ended. I was depressed for like a whole day. Anyway, my day sucked. It was so boring. I spent most of the day stuffing envelopes. Ugh! And I got a paper cut. Why do they hurt so much?”
I pout for a second, remembering the pain of the paper cut. Gah, it hurt like a bitch.
“How was your day, Alex?”

Depression over Sex and the City and a painful paper cut? Okay, I was sometimes depressed too after watching SatC but ... what guy wasn't after hearing some of the things the ladies said?
And the paper cut? Well, maybe I could kiss the ... I better not go there.
“How was your day, Alex?”
"Not that exciting I guess. Okay, certainly more than yours but ... we were mostly bringing sounds equipment and other technical stuff over to where the motorcross thing will be tomorrow and hooking things up there."
I know that both girls aren't too keen on technical stuff so I refrain from boring them with that and instead better say something that might - eventually - interest them more.
"Craig from my departement said that he saw our big boss coming out from the ladies toilet earlier this morning with his secretary right behind him. Isn't the guy married with kids?"

I start up the jeep with Tess beside me and Kyle in the back seat. Why is he hanging out with us all the time? It's a bit weird. My eyes drift to the van where Liz and Michael are. My feelings for the two of them are poles apart but Liz is friends with everyone. I wonder if I should wait as she drops Michael off. I know she can find the place but it might be nice if she wasn't alone -- or is she planning to hang around with Michael???
"About time that the week's over, isn't it?" Kyle asks. I can see he's directing the question at Tess, but I answer first.
"Yeah. Tomorrow should be a bit easier than a regular work day for me and Tess anyway. What do you have to do at the event?" It's had to be 'on' for five hours straight every day. At school it's seven hours in front of the kids, but there are longer periods to re-charge while they're doing assignments or taking tests. Who knows, this may turn out to be skill-strenghtening experience amoung all the other things.
*Michael*
I head for the dealership as I notice that Max is following closely. At the moment, the way to the dealership and the way to the club is the same, but if he turns with me when I get to Fairway Ave then I'll know that he's actually following.
"So what's going on with you, Liz?" I ask. She's given me a lot of advice for getting close to Maria. That didn't turn out, but I don't think it was because of Liz's advice. Truthfully I liked the way it felt, but it just wasn't going anywhere. My relationships with these other girls go a lot faster, but they're not really deep in any way. Not like I had hoped it would be with Maria...
